Why does everyone think hawks is going to die

i think it boils down to a few main points:

hawks was raised and forced into heroics at an extremely young age by the hero commission

the hero commission instructed (read: forced) hawks to infiltrate the league

the league, which started off with about 8 or so members, now consists of over 100,000 participants and an incredible display of wealth & power.

the commission places heavy emphasis on their willingness to destroy hawks’ reputation if it means saving the greater good

as of chapter 256, aizawa is suspicious of the hero commission, insinuating they’re up to something we don’t know about.

(too fast for his own good.. kinda ominous hawks)

hawks is in a really bad place right now. he’s working as the only double agent against the largest, most influential villain association in japan, and it seems that the hero commission and endeavor are the only two who are somewhat aware of what’s about to happen. from what hawks witnessed at the paranormal liberation front debut, the villains have acquired as much power as the heroes, if not more. we’re possibly looking at a large-scale power dynamic shift in which the villains will begin to control society (hinted at in chapter 257). as a result, we’ll probably see a lot of death in the battles that ensue

the league is already suspicious of hawks. dabi doesn’t believe he killed best jeanist, they won’t let him get close to shigaraki, and they’re watching his every move with cameras, mics, and gps tracking (not to mention it’s kinda sus the #2 would be interested in their plan).

the plf plans to use hawks to spread their ideology, get any information they can on the movements of heroes, and then dispose of him when it’s necessary / when his role as a spy is revealed. simply put, they’re not going to put up with anything that could risk their plan right before it’s about to take off. if it means killing hawks, they truly don’t give a shit.

however, i think its the hero commission plays the largest role in setting up his death. they were the ones who picked him up as a child and groomed him into becoming a hero. it doesn’t seem like he had a choice at all. and from what hawks told endeavor, all he wants is an easy, stress free life. doesn’t seem like something a 22 year old top-10 hero with his own agency can really achieve. and as i’ve pointed out before, twice once mentioned that those who wish for an easy life are all headed towards the path of descent:

spooky. makes me wonder what all of this foreshadowing is building up to. but back to the commission: the commission, having raised hawks,

can essentially “indebt” him into doing what they ask (as in, they see it as a small price to pay for providing for his childhood, etc. in other words, he’s obligated). hawks points this out when he mentions that the hero commission isn’t asking for hawks to infiltrate the league, rather, they’re forcing him to do it. no one’s gonna mourn a fallen hero with no family, no history.

furthermore, the hero commission states that, by taking this mission on, hawks will have to risk destroying his career, his reputation, etc. they’re asking him to abdicate his role as a hero in order to gain the insight they desperately crave. hence him (possibly) killing best jeanist, allowing a nomu attack on a city (which was supposed to have a few mortalities, according to dabi), and ignoring those in danger.

i assume that, once hawks is exposed, the hero commission can publicly denounce him as a traitor and strip him of all hero support. as we know from their general mission, if it means they get to preserve public trust in heroes by dumping hawks and blaming all of the nasty shit on him (he killed best jeanist, he was a traitor, he introduced the nomu that almost killed endeavor, etc), they’ll jump at the opportunity. why else would they set up a narrative in which his character will be destroyed if they’re not gonna drop him at a moments notice? plus its kinda weird that its a top-secret mission and hawks is the ONLY one who knows about this (with the exception of endvr now, too. though he doesn’t know the extent of the mission). it’s an easy cover-up. they see him as a dispensable pawn just like the plf does, but it’s supposedly “different” because they’re the “heroes”. aizawa made a point: they’re withholding a lot of information and are essentially self serving. something is up, and it’s not gonna fare well for our #2.

sry im starting to space out so ill leave it there but basically, the hero commission and the paranormal liberation front both see him as disposable. the commission limited the scope of the mission to including hawks only, for if something goes wrong and they need to cover their tracks, he is their scapegoat. he will, as they mentioned, bear the face of corruption. and the plf, on the other hand, doesn’t care for his safety. i truly believe they’ll kill him if it’s revealed that he’s a spy. i don’t think they’ll let anything get in their way when shigaraki’s 4 month plan is about to be put in motion. and since the hero commission wont be there to help him out……… oops 😳

like. if he doesn’t die because of his involvement directly, i think there are enough death flags thrown about that hint at Some death in the future regardless of how it happens. it makes for a tragic story. he’s the icarus of the bnha verse. he flew too close to the sun and now he’s gonna suffer because of it . hawks, the man who’s too fast for his own good. u hate to see it.

I am home!!! My flights were fine, nothing exceptional. My 2nd flight (Dublin to DC) was delayed 2 hours, which meant I had to get off the plane, through passport control, through security, and across the airport to my next gate in under 30 minutes. Thankfully my 2nd flight was delayed by 15 minutes because I barely made it. But made it I did. And I upgraded myself to first class because yanno, treat yo self. My stomach did start to hurt a tiny bit during the long flight, but it went away after about an hour. That was pretty much it, though. A pretty uneventful day.

BUT I have officially moved out of Liverpool. It is my favorite city in the world and I’ll miss it so much, but I’ll be back in like a year or two. Moving out and dealing with getting rid of all my stuff on my own was hard. I actually started packing about a month ago just getting rid of stuff, but the majority of it all happened this past week. To backtrack a little bit, on Wednesday I had planned to take like 4 heavy boxes to the charity shop in the morning (I was gone all afternoon), but the lift in my flat was broken and those boxes were way too heavy to get down 6 flights of stairs. So that didn’t happen. And on Thursday I had my taxi to Manchester at 4pm and with cleaning and all that I didn’t have time to get the boxes to the charity shop so I convinced my building reception to let me leave it in the basement so people can go take whatever they wanted. It was all homeware and kitchen stuff. I’m talking a full set of nice dishes, a juicer, a blender, a sauce pan, lots of stuff I didn’t wanna just throw away.

Today (Saturday) was my first full day back. I made 2 Target runs, unpacked a bit, watched lots of Food Network, and got a lil crafty. I’ll mention that in a bit, but at Target I decided when I turn 23 in 4 days this will finally be the year I stick to taking vitamins every day, so I got some gummy ones because I’m an adult. I took the 2 that the bottle said to take and within like an hour my GI tract was really not happy with me. So I guess tomorrow I’m gonna try just taking one and see what happens? I don’t really know what it means or what to do if my body suddenly doesn’t like vitamins?

But on to the crafts, Target has the best fall and Halloween decor. In the dollar aisle (whatever that’s called now) there were these window frames with plastic, I guess to decorate to make spooky? I’m not sure what they were intending for this, but I got 2 and made them into picture frames. Since I’ve actually moved home, I wanted to personalize my room a little more with some photos. My goal was to include at least one photo from every country I’ve been to in the past 4 years. Turns out thats kind of a lot. I filled up 2 window things, and could definitely use a third, and also wall hangings tend to look better in threes to me anyways.

These photos include the US (Colorado and Nashville), UK (Liverpool, Bath, Inverness, Stonehenge, and Edinburgh), Italy (Cinque Terre and Florence), Russia (St. Petersburg), Portugal (Faro), Bulgaria (Nessebar), Denmark (Copenhagen), and Spain (Barcelona). I kinda made a real effort to not include photos of London. I’m pretty salty about when people only visit the one big city in a country and then think they’ve seen the whole country (i.e. when people tell me they went to London once and just love the British life, or whatever. And the other way around, when British people would tell me they went to Orlando and couldn’t believe the portion sizes at Disney and that Americans eat like that, as if the entire country is just like that). So I figured London didn’t need more attention. Sorry for the mini rant. I just really feel like especially in small countries like the UK, people should really consider doing a day trip or two to other cities or regions. Liverpool is a whole other world from London (and 90000x better, sry).

So what’s next? The next few days will be unpacking and organizing, the Jonas Brothers show, packing for a conference, and going to said conference, and hopefully hearing back from places I’ve interviewed with recently. After that, who knows.
