I am in a very generous mood today, so for this tidbit Tuesday I am sharing several teases from different wips. Enjoy!

NFL Buck: Athena hits the intercom above the code box, taking note of cameras that swivel slightly towards her way. A deep voice seeped with weariness comes through the speaker, "What can I do for you officer?"

In the back seat of her cruiser, Eddie immediately perks up and cries out, "Buck! She arrested me and I don't like it and I swear those tiny humans put her up to it! But I didn't do it! I swear!"

4+1 Buck is too nice: Eddie is actually contemplating stealing Bobby's nice knife set away from the firehouse. Stolen knives for Eddie's stolen boyfriend. Seems fair. Sort of.

When in reality Eddie more than understands. Athena is working, Bobby is covering for Captain Royce, and trying to get any sort of non-familiar (free) transportation from LAX was a disservice to May.

Kidnapped Mpreg Buck: Eddie grips his tiny newborn daughter tight to his chest. Its too quiet. Buck is silent, no longer screaming in agony. Their baby has gone quiet after her first cries. Doug will never make a sound again, lying dead by the fireplace. He can barely hear Hen muttering under her breath, pumping her fist hard over Buck's chest. Chimney hasn't said a word since announcing the loss of Buck's heart beat, frantically working to try and stop the omega from bleeding out. And Maddie...is slumped against the wall near the bed where her brother lays dying, covered in blood from Doug, herself, and Buck. Catatonic. Quiet. Too quiet.

Parental Chimney w/ Teen Buddie: Chimney does a double take when he see's Eddie standing just a step inside the bay doors. The older teen is wringing his hands together, looking nervous and very lost.

Tapping Hen on the shoulder, he motions towards the kid and Hen nods in understanding. "Yell if you need back-up." She jokes somewhat serious.

Chimney rolls his eyes, "Doubt he's here to cause harm."

Hen shrugs, "Your new to this parenting thing, and so am I, so asking for help won't hurt." She glances over to Eddie, "Just don't be too hard on him. From my understanding, kids been through enough and losing Buck must feel like rock bottom."

Return of sperm donor kid: “Carson, Connor is your dad, okay? I just-well-um” Buck was floundering to find the right way to explain to a beginning 5th grader how sperm donation works.

“He’s not my dad! I heard my mom say so!” Connor shouted, anger and frustration starting to take over.

Buck raised his hands up in gentle defense, “Okay. Okay. Let’s just,” He sighs in frustration, looking upwards. Buck didn’t really pray, but he did believe in the universe and Eddie would be his entire paycheck that he was cursing it right now. “I’m calling your parents.”

Carson opened his mouth to object, but Buck immediately cut him off, “I am calling your parents, and that includes your dad, the same man who has fed you, clothed you, LOVED you since the day you were born. I am calling them and then we are all going to sit down and talk. Understand?”

Honestly as someone who is partially adopted,

The fact that the doctor didn't go to the biological mother, let her walk away, didn't need to find that information, is so...

My mom was a single mother for a few years, because my bio father didn't stick around. My dad is the one she married, the one who raised me, the one who celebrates adoption day with me.

Ruby has her family. I get wanting to know, wanting to understand, and it's clear she does want that, but she doesn't need that. Her mom makes the point of being glad she didn't find anyone because she's ruby's mom

And there's not enough stories out there where that's just accepted. My biological father tried to get in touch with me when I turned 19 and I told him to fuck off (well, i didn't respond so my mom did with my permission), because he's not my dad. I don't have an interest in seeing him, in getting to know him.

"Aren't you curious?" No, not really!

I get the idea of wanting Ruby to secretly be alien-ish since we dont know her genetics but... there's something special to me, for her to be an ordinary girl. A foundling, adopted. Her biological relations not mattering because her family is the one she HAS

I was just talking to my mom and told her that I'm really scared of giving birth and that I honestly just want to adopt, since there are so many kids who need homes anyways. Her response was "Oh, but it's so magical! Besides, birth is natural 😃"

Babes, so are periods and death, and neither of those are super fun.

She didn't like that response and started explaining why I should have kids and why being pregnant is so great and would NOT listen when I tried to tell her that that's just not for me.

a rly underrated thing about crazy ex girlfriend imo is that it's one of the rare shows i know of that really spends time on exploring what the process of having children is like for queer ppl/for those who go about it "non-normatively". it's not even rly a main storyline but i still find it rly well-handled and touching.

#idk i feel like in the general consciousness (deciding to) having kids as a queer person is either treated as impossible #(which is true to an extent in some jurisdictions tbf - at least if you want the legal status of parents)#or is imo way oversimplified #like yeah most ppl know ivf is A Fucking Process but many ppl still seem to underestimate iui for example #or there's an assumption that all couples with no sperm between them choose to use a sperm bank and that that process is easy #and doesn't require any reflection (which it isn't and it does)#or that if you choose to go with a known donor finding a donor is an easy process (which it also rly isn't)#or for couples where no one can get pregnant that surrogacy goes without saying (in addition to the fact that surrogacy is banned #in Many Places where other MAR techniques aren't #finding a surrogate is also orders of magnitude more difficult than finding a gamete donor)#or that adoption is an obvious solution - idk if those ppl know any gay couples who are trying to adopt but i do #they've been in the process for SIX psychologically excruciating years and it will likely be another year before they actually have a child #and that's for white college-educated materially comfortable ppl #and idk but cxg does a rly good job with the storyline - from Darryl and White Josh's disagreement about whether to have kids #to Darryl's decision to have a kid alone #to him asking Heather and Rebecca for help with that process #to the fact that Heather and Rebecca's feelings about Hebecca are v realistic and nuanced atm #not at all maternal bc that's never what they wanted or planned for (being a mother to this child) but also not indifferent #for example the 'hello nice to meet you' reprise - i legit think that's the only time i've ever seen a known donor's attitude and feelings #about the child they helped create but in no way consider 'theirs' being explored. even in thirty seconds.#or even just the fact that Darryl is a lawyer and requests help from both a gamete donor and a gestational carrier - yes!#as far as i understand in the us 'surrogacy' (one person being pregnant with their own ovule) gives the pregnant person legal parental stat #and thus requires giving up those rights and sometimes adoption after birth #while 'splitting things up' between a donor and a carrier also cuts through that 'biological' link for the purposes of legal recognition #i might be wrong in my understanding of this but if not it's cool to see it handled realistically including wrt how the legal consequences #influences decisions about which choices you make #reproduction cw #children cw #adoption cw

Today I’m taking a break from going insane about the lightning strike and instead going insane thinking about the interesting ways the Denny/Hen/Karen/Babydaddy (forgot his name sorry) storyline could collide with the sperm donor storyline. From the very beginning, Hen has been tied very tightly into Buck’s decision to do this, repeatedly being the person he confides in about it.

And the writers have chosen NOW to be the time they explore Denny’s connection with his own biological father.

I don’t know what they’re planning to do with these two storylines and how they’ll ultimately connect--whether Denny’s experience will shed some more light on Buck’s situation, or if maybe Buck’s situation will help Hen figure out how to navigate things with Denny--but it’s too big a parallel for them NOT to have these two storylines collide in some shape or form.

Denny’s storyline is definitely in part about a boundary being crossed by his biological father. But it’s also ultimately about Denny’s feelings--him growing older and wanting to draw his OWN boundaries and make his OWN decisions about his relationship with his biological father.

And I think it’s interesting because.....we’ve talked a lot about BUCK’S feelings about being a sperm donor and having that biological connection to a child who really isn’t his. But one thing it seems no one has really brought up in a meaningful way is what the KID is going to want, down the line, when it’s old enough (like Denny) to want to make those decisions for themself. So I do wonder/think that might become a topic once the Denny thing comes to light.

And I wonder, too, if we’ll get yet another interesting intersection on both of these storylines--and that, of course, would be Buck’s relationship with Chris. We already know Chris is going to have some significant scene in the next episode, and given the topic of the episode I wouldn’t be surprised if the scene is something along the lines of Chris reflecting on how much Buck means to him/how much better his life is because Buck is in it.

Which, again, could be an interesting angle to the sperm donor baby situation as well--the fact that a potential sperm donor baby of Buck’s might WANT to have a connection with him, and might WANT to be in his life, and might in fact be better for it.

I have NO idea how any of this will shake out, and I think it’s difficult to write a storyline about a hypothetical (because the baby being old enough to make those decisions is SO far in the future) but I’m hoping we’ll get some juicy stuff with these 3 storylines...

#the reason why Lance left i think was because all the frustration from war missing earth and Keith repeatedly leaving and other such factors #Led to a pretty nasty fight between the team (specifically him and Shiro) and both sides said some really shitty things #And Lance left #The team went back to Earth for plot reasons only to find that Lance never made it back home and thought he died #So yeahh there is so much explaining to do #cowboys and abandonment issues au #empty answers #Thanks for asking!!!!#Kuron also just lowkey attempts to ditch both Kid and Lance so HE doesnt have to deal with clone reveal #Just 'Outing my friend as still alive n my kid as red paladin's daughter so voltron team doesnt realize that i am the black paladin's clone #And Lance is like *tackles Kuron* 'oh no you fucker we are in this mess together'#Neither of them noticed that Kid has already gone off to have her destined fight with her absentee sperm donor

i mean. i'll be honest with you anon idk if she'd exist. there was a sns comic with her that had some light sakuino in the background but if i'm being fully honest i personally have like. zero interest in most of the next gen kids. i like chouchou, i don't mind himawari, and i'm indifferent at best to the rest of them.

also i haven't seen/read bort and probably never will. i've read fics that did things i liked with sarada but since i personally have no real interest in her there's not a lot for me to do.

YES, YRZ/the force sounds amazing/hilarious! You mentioned before that the force felt like 'soup that loved him' and it is just so fun to imagine yrz walking around being constantly, like 24/7, showered in affection and love and having no idea how to react but just getting progressively more flustered as time goes by (it is genuine people that he really likes + has a hard time dealing with, right? I'm not remembering that wrong?) Because yrz deserves, like, all the love.

oh yes yrz has the hardest time dealing with love from a genuine source. he spends most of his childhood adjusting to the force's affection, and it stabilizes him way faster. he gets attuned to the love pretty quick but sometimes it still makes him squirm while he's trying to meditate, the force.

It's pretty funny the first time he steps into the temple and all the masters are like "???? the fuck??" he's like a good luck charm and can naturally combat the use of the dark side's anger while he's not controlling his presence. his natural aura induces affection and love when he forgets himself.

of course, this makes him really popular among children and fertility festivals.

(Unrelated: yrz might have traded a child of his blood to the childless queens of a planet in return for better trade deals. yrz gets a wild week with two bombshells and to complete his mission? win win. Though if the kid(s. possibly maybe both queens end up pregnant. ooops.) are force sensitive the queens do have to send em to the temple for training.)

Photoshopping pictures are one thing, but larries who think all the videos of freddie are all CGI’d or deepfaked are coping hard. Things like that take a lot time and a lot of money to make, and upper management isn’t going to sign off on all that work and cash to trick the handful of people who aren’t convinced by just having the kid around. It’s just unrealistic for them to put in all that extra effort when just having the kid around convinces most people.

It's not even about that. It's two things:

A. He does look the same in every picture despite some larries claiming he doesn't just because some pictures are taken at strange angles. If you analyze the features, they're the exact same, and he has even looked the same since he was a baby.

B. They would never, and I mean never, take that kid to Louis's concerts where thousands of fans would be able to see his quote-unquote "real face" if he were being photoshopped.

It's simply impossible.

Let me go over some things.

#2: How we know the kid can't be Brett's (keep in mind I made these charts when, for a brief period of time, I was of the belief that Louis is F's father because of how alike they look):

Tumblr won't let me add any more pictures, but none of this proves Louis is the father; it only proves that the kid does in fact look like Louis. But you have to remember that, even if two people look identical, it does not prove relation. Brettgaters have completely destroyed the babygate theory, and it's the main reason nobody listens to us; because anyone with eyes can see that he looks identical to Louis.

But, hey, Louis didn't wear that "steal my face" shirt for nothing!
