Honestly:
Hc that when finwe comes back to life and hears anout all of his grandkids’ incestual relationships, slowely and surely you can see his soul leaving his body once again to return to the halls. The same thing happens to olwe and elwe.
Meanwhile, Ingwe is laughing his ass off in the background.

Silvans find Maglor, part 1 (my au)
Legolas didn’t know how he got into this situation. He doesn’t know how he ended up in Imlardis, practically begging Lord Elrond to take his dad back because Maglor would. Not. Stop. Wailing.
He would like to blame Lasgen for the problem. But then he’d have to blame every single elf that was on her squad when they were doing a routine check up. And then he’d have to blame all the elves who had a hand in healing Maglor, and all those who agreed to keep maglor in Mirkwood. And his father because, elf who gave birth to him or not, Thranduil was a little shit who had no problem putting his kids into the line of fire.
All to say that everyone had a hand in what lead up to the current situation of Legolas trying not to loose his mind over the pure bullshit fate liked to spit at the Silvans.
Akami help him, he was to sober for this.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I suppose we should go back a few months in order to explain exactly how we ended up here.
It was a standard routine survey of the coasts of Middle Earth, simply to see if there was anything the silvans needed to keep an eye on in addition to Sauron and his bullshit, and some of the Avari sects that the Silvans didn’t have an alliance with.
Being a silvan was hard, don’t let the Noldor tell you otherwise.
Lasgen, oldest child of King Thranduil, was leading the party at a steady pace along the beach. The sun was shining, the wind was a nice breeze, it was fucking hot but you wouldn’t be able to tell just by looking at the scene.
And the narrator is sleep deprived so if the narration doesn’t make any sense, she doesn’t care. I assure you.
Where was i? Oh yes. The weather. It was horrible, but Lasgen and her warriors kept on moving. And eventually,
Eventually, they came across a mound of ratty hair, scrappy cloth, and dried up seaweed that stunk more than a skunk with diarhea. Lasgen was debating simply ignoring the offensive smelling mound or practising some civic duty by shoving it into the ocean or burning it when an unintelligible garble rose from the pile. She supposed that it could sound fagually like a song, if you took ten steps back, cocked your head, closed your eyes, a payed attention to only every second note.
Grimacing, she brought the group to a halt before disembarking from her horse and slowly approaching, trying desperately not to inhale anywhere near the abomination.
She grabbed a stick and poked at the pile. One poke, two poke, three poke. Groan.
Ok so there was definitely something alive under all the ratty scraps.
She held her breath before quickly reaching forward into the pile and yanking at the solid mass in the center.
An. elf.
There was an akami forsaken elf. In a pile of such disgusting stench it made horse poop smell nice.
How was there an elf there? Why was there an elf there? Surely they would have at least managed to keep themselves moderately clean or in contact with one of the elven settlements. They weren’t even that far from the nearest one, surely they would have been able to make it to the harbors if they tried.
Wait.
Wait.
WAIT.
An elf. Near the ocean. Looking like the gods themselves went out of their way to trash him. Making weird gargling noises that could, barely, pass for music.
“Oh my god, why do i always find the weird ones?” Lasgen looked to the sky, begging for an answer she knew would not come. She turned to her squad, who had abandoned her to the stench and stayed a nice distance away. “Please tell me one of you has some nice deep reaching scents on you that will make it bearable until we reach back home. And some clothes? Anything to make this sad bag of bones more bearable.”

Legolas, a silvan who can speak to trees:
Gondor, a city well known for the white tree at it’s epicenter:
Their collaboration: the best kept secret all throughout Aragorn’s reign
Legolas legit knows about so many secrets and schemes (and late night rendezvous) bc he and the tree are gossip buddies and it infuriates so many people bc how tf does he know???

Yeah, the silm really leaves it open for interpretation, which certainly makes the possibilities endless and interesting!
Ngl, i really love the idea that any elf who’s death is left uncertain just ends up with the silvans, just partying and killing orcs, no royal drama here, our officials are chosen based on capability thx.
It’s the perfect way to escape the hellscape that is noldor/sindar politics but without needing to die.
It doesn’t happen often, obviously (maybe once or twice) but god is the wtf of the noldor/sindar elves worth every penny as they realize the elf they mourned for (or condemnd) is still, in fact, alive and (semi-)kicking.
What if the silvans found elured and elurin?
Like, a team of silvans were taking stock of the damage post-feanorian rampage and came across two twin elflings shivering inthe cold and just.... take them.
Listen, no one was gonna look for them, so free children!
The silvans were the first kidnap=adoption elves.
And it’s not like either of then really had a family to go back to (silvans can be very ruthless and callus when it comes to certain things).
So, they rescued (kidnapped) them and raised them as their own. (Yes, the silvans do have an orphanage. Orphans are a concept they are very familiar with).
And just...
Kinda..
Sorta...
Forget to tell the sindar and noldor elves.
Whoops.
Imagine either of them just showing up at a meeting with galadriel or elrond in the 3rd age, guarding thranduil (as is their jobs) and just introducing themselves as elurin and elurid, and galadriel and elrond just blue screen.
Neither twin really gets the big deal but the sindars are freaking out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What if the silvans also picked up maglor (they have a habit of taking in strays)
And maglor is simultaneously relieved and horrified bc “thank god they lived” and “i am so sorry for everything”.
Elurin & Elured: listen, we’re not happy with you, but we have bigger fish to fry and other problems that we can actually fix.
“More dangerous and Less wise”
Yeah, ok, if we ignore the fact that it is a banger of a line and description, tell me again which elven race commited 4 massacres for jewelry?
Which races were ready to kill for it?
And which race’s king said that he would not ever fight a war for gold and jewels?
That’s what i thought.
What the 4 silvan sibs chat names would be if they had phones:
Lasgen: Manslaughter
Lirion: Mansplain
Kleoyia: Manipulate
Legolas: Male wife
Their group chat name would be: be gay, do crime.
Honestly, i don’t think we, as a fandom, take advantage of the fact that ghosts are canonically real in the lotr universe enough.
The first of thranduil’s family to make it to valinor after oropher is Kleoyia.
It happened millenia after the third age. Kleoyia was killed and ended up in mandos. They’re still a bit confused as to how she died.
Anyway, you’d think this is an angsty post, but it’s not.
Kleoyia’s faer is brought to the hall and she walks herself right out the door. She’s good thanks. No way she’s going to willingly put herself under the control of a vala any longer than absolutely necessary.
Ingwe’s called to pick her up bc oropher’s still in the halls harassing convincing the valar to release miriel from the halls.
And ingwe picks her up by himself, and he’s a little worried bc yes, she is his (adopted) sister, but he’s also never met her and he’s afraid that after all these millenia apart thranduil’s forgotten him.
But he need not worry bc, after breaking the ice, the two get on like a house on fire. And Kleoyia’s managed to smuggle in a phone somehow, so now ingwe not only has actual family again, but he’s once more in contact with his ada and older sister and the rest of his (newly met) family.
Oh, happy days!!!
Hc that Miriel speaks very informally. It’s not outright slang, but it absolutely does not pass court or academic standards.
Lasgen, Lirion, Kleoyia, and Legolas fucked around and found out
They pulled some shit and somehow ended up meeting Eru and long story short, they came away from that meeting with a deeper understanding of why Morgoth did what he did than they ever really wanted to.
Eru is a bitch.
The 4 go: we will do what we decide to do because we can choose what we will do.
And Eru will response with: *chuckle* no you fucking can’t
The 4: i now understand Morgoth’s urge to go batshit for the sole purpose of escaping your thumb.
Please give me more of the Míriel comes out of the halls, the moment Finwë dies. I’m on my knees begging you!
Have a delightful day.
i imagine that the moment Miriel comes out of the halls, she's simultaniously murderous, but also over whelmed, bc what tf is she supposed to do?
she's like the deadbeat mom (though she was dead so-)
i imagine she'd do 1 of two things
not mention her return to anyone and just... disappear into the background
in this scenario i imagine she makes her way to middle earth ( personally hc that Miriel doens't really like valinor at all). maybe she sneaks into fingolfin's host? i don't think he'd know all the elves that joined him soo.....
or maybe she's mor sensible and, because she's technically not been identified as a noldo (bc she wasn't there during the first massacre and she has silver hair, which is a more teleri like trait and no one suspects MIRIEL THERINDE to be out of the hall)
i don't think she reaches feanaro before he sails away with his host bc i imagine she takes a moment to get her barrings and figure out what she's going to do and then hear's about the massacre, and by the time she arrives she's too late.
like i said before, Miriel doesn't strike me as the kind of elf that's all that bothered by the incident, not because she's heartless but bc she's a cuivienen elf and bc she will always prioritize her family over anyone else.
2. the other thing i can see happening is her (begrudgingly) staying in valinor in order to take controll there. sure, it might not be the nicest move but she's the MOTHERFUCKING QUEEN OF THE NOLDO
YOU REALLY THINK FINWE BECAME KING ON HIS OWN AND SHE'S JUST THE WIFE?!? NO MA'AM.
if anyone has a claim on that throne it's her, thank you.
she's about to make her re-embodiment everyone's problem. (you can see where feanaro get's it from)
now, her taking over the remaining noldo does make things more difficult bc, again, feanaro does not have the best rep atm. but god damnit, no way she's loosing against the third son and fifth child that had no interest in leading.
plus, i refuse to believe that she didn't have her own supporters when she was still alive that stayed in valinor bc they're only gonna respect miriel therinde, or someone who also survived life at the lack, fuck you. they're not following some greenhorn warrior that's to big for his britches to their completely avoidable death, thank you. (sorry feanaro, but you were not made for middle earth. he's a lowkey rich kid that thought he could make it on his own (tbf, most valinor born noldo thought that, hence why they fucked up so many times))
of course in this scenarios, the moment Miriel catches wind of shit going tits up in Berilian, she mobelizes her army (bc Morgoth is out there, fuckers, and you're an idiot if you think that bitch isn't gonna go after valinor the moment he's got ME) and heads to Beriliand. she's got a score to settle with that MotherFucker.
I have never once considered Legolas and Gandalf, and while it’s not my favorite I am living for it
It’s hilarious sweet and sad all at once you know
10/10
legolas and gandalf are that one couple that's simultaniously not one you think off naturally, but when you get into it you're like "wait, omg, this could work"
honestly i live for rare pairs. mostly because i can then comendere the ship.
honestly, personally choose to focus on the hilariously sweet aspect of it, especially in the amusment of probably the world's slowest slow burn.
honestly i think this ship would blind the people in universe as much as it does us readers, but at the same time, when they see it for the first time they all get it. (though it is still super weird because of, what looks like, a giant age difference (i mean they're technically not wrong but still)
Hi, I remember, that you headcanoned, that the Sivians and Avari eat the giant spiders and I love that idea. How did they react to Ungoliant? Did they view her as a giant all you can eat buffet?
at first their reaction amounted to WTF?
however, once the shock abated it became a competition.
a competition to eat the mother of all spiders. whomever fell the beast would get the highest honor (bragging rights).
Au in which Thranduil invited Galadriel and the elves of LothLorion, and Elrond and the elves of I lardis to a celebration in the third age before the darkness got really bad.
And Galadriel took a number of her Silvans with her, in adition to the her husband and sinda elves, and one of the silvans elves was from before Galadriel ever even came across the silvans and the silvan sees the silvans of Mirkwood celebrate and perform traditional silvan dances that the silvan misses, now that they are under Galadriel’s rule.
And Thranduil notices the silvan’s longing tells them “you can join, if you want to. We’re all silvans here.” And the silvan just books it to the dance and starts participating in it, first at the edges, but at the encouragement of the other silvans dancing, they slowely drift towards the thick of it.
And while they stand out from the other silvans in their LothLorien attire, they are smiling brighter and feeling more accepted than they have in centuries.
