Buck surviving the lightning strike and going back to work means that Hen has to go to that bakery (she goes to the same one every time) to get him a 'welcome-back' cake (one which will have a terrible pun written on it in icing, something like "we're not shocked you're back"), and you just know that every time she walks into that bakery the staff drop what they're doing because they just know that it's going to be something absolutely wild
anyways the reason bobby had eddie drive was bc eddie could get there fastest bc he wouldn’t give a fuck about traffic or laws or speeding at that point
ok but chris being asleep on the couch basically milliseconds after buck fell asleep on that same damn couch. combined with this whole couch metaphor scenario. 911 writers im in ur walls.
peak romance is buddie squished together in the fire truck, knees touching and all while eddie sarcastically talks about his sign to marry shannon and buck looks at him with the biggest fondest love face ever.
The thought of Buck in a room with members of the brass is sending me because my own minor obsession with the fucking lawsuit arc is neither that Buck is an idiot nor that Buck is an angel baby, but that he was canonically right and I’ll never forget that. I don’t care that it’s just that Hollywood types don’t know how money works. I don’t care that it was dramatics to reinforce Buck’s dedication to the job. I don’t care. Millions of dollars is not nuisance lawsuit money. “Go away” money is like a year’s salary if you’re lucky. The numbers person in me just can’t let it go. Whether they intended it or not, the show absolutely said that Buck was legally 100% in the right. And while whatever settlement out of court they did reach (because once the offer was a made they did have to settle) was surely less than that, someone in fake LAFD’s HR/legal department starts shaking crying throwing up every time they see Evan Buckley’s goddamn name, and that is hilarious to me.
And I know, I know the show’s never going to do anything with that, and I honestly don’t even want them to. But I do wonder what the other captains and the higher ups think about this guy who got fucked over hard enough to get offered set-for-life money, and said no thanks I just want to work. And then proceeded to pull multiple heroic stunts and then die (for 3 minutes 17 sec). On the job. It’s just. So ripe with potential that will remain unplucked and there for me to rotate in my head and polish like a gemstone.
the way eddie just kept screaming and he immediately run up the ladder to pull buck up with his bare hands I’m not well, i'm crying sobbing throwing up
