hello! i've recently found myself interested in speculative evolution/biology, and while i'm not certain how much you know of the subject, you do seem very knowledgeable in space stuff, so i thought i'd ask your opinion on this anyway. if nothing else, it's an interesting conversation starter.
how do you think life would evolve on a planet with three moons, in a circumbinary star system, that is otherwise similar to earth?
This is SUCH an incredible question & I very much appreciate you asking!
It is estimated that 50–60% of binary stars are capable of supporting habitable terrestrial planets within stable orbital ranges!
There are many factors you have to consider to give a good answer here:
What kind of stars are we talking about? Because it DOES matter if they are, say, neutron stars or red dwarves/white dwarves - radiation, solar winds, temperature, magnetic fields, ...
Three moons: Are those rather tiny or big? Because tides are a thing, they have a lot of influence on the landscape
What type of orbit does the planet have? Does it loop around both stars or just one of them?
For this theorizing here, I'll assume a circumbinary planet, also called P-type, since you mentioned the planet orbiting both stars.
Planets that orbit just one star in a binary system are said to have "S-type" orbits, whereas those that orbit around both stars have "P-type" or "circumbinary" orbits.
For a circumbinary planet, orbital stability is guaranteed only if the planet's distance from the stars is significantly greater than star-to-star distance.
The minimum stable star-to-circumbinary-planet separation is about 2–4 times the binary star separation, or orbital period, about 3–8 times the binary period.
The classic approach would be that life would develop in water, so for that to happen, we must have water on the planet.
If Earth-like planets form in or migrate into the circumbinary habitable zone, they would be capable of sustaining liquid water on their surface in spite of the dynamical & radiative interaction with the stars!
We will assume that the terrestrial planet has water.
And if liquid water is present, life could happen!
YET: A secondary star provides an additional source of radiation & gravitational perturbations & while it may not influence fluid water, it could influence the stability of the planets climate!
Due to the orbit around both stars, the radiation received by the planet in binary systems changes over time.
The evolution of life on a planet requires not only that the initial conditions of the planet are favorable to the evolution of life but also that the planet subsequently remains habitable without interruption.
Based on this, three cases are possible:
Habitable
Part-habitable (life has to go dormant for a reoccuring period of time)
(Unhabitable)
Part-habitable planets would be interesting to look at!
But that may be a thing for another time to discuss...

Thinking again about the darknesses that lurk underneath the surface of Sense and Sensibility (I have talked before about how Edward despite being the eldest is subjected to what we can argue is emotional and financial abuse by his family for years, and how the Dashwood women are disinherited on a whim of their great uncle), and this time specifically about the Brandons.
We get so little about them, and what we do get about them is all bad:
This lady was one of my nearest relations, an orphan from her infancy, and under the guardianship of my father... At seventeen she was lost to me for ever. She was married—married against her inclination to my brother. Her fortune was large, and our family estate much encumbered. And this, I fear, is all that can be said for the conduct of one, who was at once her uncle and guardian. My brother did not deserve her; he did not even love her... I have never told you how this was brought on. We were within a few hours of eloping together for Scotland. The treachery, or the folly, of my cousin’s maid betrayed us. I was banished to the house of a relation far distant, and she was allowed no liberty, no society, no amusement, till my father’s point was gained... My brother had no regard for her; his pleasures were not what they ought to have been, and from the first he treated her unkindly.
Mr Brandon Sr is shown to us as being a greedy man, a bad administrator of his estate, and a cruel father. His first son seems cut of the same cloth, and his pleasures were not what they ought to have been is one of the most, if not the most sinister line between all the Austen novels. But there's more about him!:
Her legal allowance was not adequate to her fortune, nor sufficient for her comfortable maintenance, and I learnt from my brother that the power of receiving it had been made over some months before to another person. He imagined, and calmly could he imagine it, that her extravagance, and consequent distress, had obliged her to dispose of it for some immediate relief.
The Brandons were married for two years; the colonel returns to England and starts looking for her 3 years later. Young Eliza was then a 3 year old toddler. We are obliquely told that Brandon cut all ties with his brother:
It was a valued, a precious trust to me; and gladly would I have discharged it in the strictest sense, by watching over her education myself, had the nature of our situations allowed it; but I had no family, no home; and my little Eliza was therefore placed at school. I saw her there whenever I could, and after the death of my brother, (which happened about five years ago, and which left to me the possession of the family property,) she visited me at Delaford.
Eliza is now 17, so the eldest brother died when she was 14, which is 16 years after his marriage with the older Eliza. In that period of time, he managed to squander the whole of her fortune, and put the estate in debt again, as we are told earlier on by Mrs Jennings:
Poor man! I am afraid his circumstances may be bad. The estate at Delaford was never reckoned more than two thousand a year, and his brother left everything sadly involved. I do think he must have been sent for about money matters, for what else can it be? I wonder whether it is so. I would give anything to know the truth of it. Perhaps it is about Miss Williams and, by the bye, I dare say it is, because he looked so conscious when I mentioned her. May be she is ill in town; nothing in the world more likely, for I have a notion she is always rather sickly. I would lay any wager it is about Miss Williams. It is not so very likely he should be distressed in his circumstances now, for he is a very prudent man, and to be sure must have cleared the estate by this time. I wonder what it can be! May be his sister is worse at Avignon, and has sent for him over. His setting off in such a hurry seems very like it. Well, I wish him out of all his trouble with all my heart, and a good wife into the bargain.”
We know the Bennets, with five daughters, and without a saving mindset, still manage to live very comfortably with 2000 a year, and if they had had any mind to save money, they could have provided all five of them with decent dowries/money enough to keep them out of poverty when their father died if they were single. It is clearly not that the money isn't enough, or that Delaford is an unproductive estate; in fact, it is described to us as almost paradisiac:
Delaford is a nice place, I can tell you; exactly what I call a nice old fashioned place, full of comforts and conveniences; quite shut in with great garden walls that are covered with the best fruit-trees in the country; and such a mulberry tree in one corner! Lord! how Charlotte and I did stuff the only time we were there! Then, there is a dove-cote, some delightful stew-ponds, and a very pretty canal; and every thing, in short, that one could wish for; and, moreover, it is close to the church, and only a quarter of a mile from the turnpike-road, so ’tis never dull, for if you only go and sit up in an old yew arbour behind the house, you may see all the carriages that pass along. Oh! ’tis a nice place! A butcher hard by in the village, and the parsonage-house within a stone’s throw. To my fancy, a thousand times prettier than Barton Park, where they are forced to send three miles for their meat, and have not a neighbour nearer than your mother.
One interesting character, though forgotten because only mentioned in passing, is the Brandon sister. On one of the quotes above we get that she's in Avignon for her health, and we know her husband is wealthy (and probably abroad with her) because it is his estate that the planned picnic is for:
A party was formed this evening for going on the following day to see a very fine place about twelve miles from Barton, belonging to a brother-in-law of Colonel Brandon, without whose interest it could not be seen, as the proprietor, who was then abroad, had left strict orders on that head. The grounds were declared to be highly beautiful, and Sir John, who was particularly warm in their praise, might be allowed to be a tolerable judge, for he had formed parties to visit them, at least, twice every summer for the last ten years. They contained a noble piece of water; a sail on which was to form a great part of the morning’s amusement; cold provisions were to be taken, open carriages only to be employed, and every thing conducted in the usual style of a complete party of pleasure.
It is implied that Brandon and his BIL are in very good terms (and we know he's not afraid of cutting ties with bad relatives), and one can safely guess that at the very least he cares enough about his wife as to have her travel for her health. Another guess can be made about her getting married about 10 years before the events of the book. Whether she lived at home before that, or was at school or somewhere else, it isn't said.
But this way you can feel there's a parallel in a way, between the Brandons and the Tilneys: a greedy, cruel father, a son that follows on his steps, and a younger brother and sister managing the toxicity as best they can. Talking about this with @bad-at-names-and-faces, she brought up the idea that in that scheme, Cathy would be Eliza (if it wasn't her not being an orphan, or a rich heiress, and how that connects with Austen's line about Cathy not being born to be a heroine at the beginning of Northanger Abbey). Certainly part of it is the romantic gothicness of the Brandon backstory, united with NA's commentary on Gothic tropes, but to me it drove home with even greater force how such a situation would break a man; losing Cathy that way would have definitely broken Tilney, and if we had met him 14 years down the line, would he have appeared to the unacquainted much different than Brandon appeared to the Dashwood sisters?

Honestly I know the medieval Hype is about knights but I feel like we are forgetting that monasteries, if you didn't go into those with a benedictine rule or something, were places that the nobles put their sons and daughters in and were generally considered pretty opulent. Like I know the idea we have is of benedictine or augustine ora et labora type deal but I know some of them must have been Great places to live in

Scenario prompt: Dream runs into Hob for the first time at a bar, Hob is drunk as fuck hits on Dream by saying the following "I'd date you so damn hard". Dream who is used to hearing a different word, intrigued, asks "How hard?" and Hob, in one breath and drunk confidence and flushed cheeks slurs the entire sentence in a single breath. About how he'd hold Dream's hands everyday, send him good night and good morning texts, take him out to see old movies and watch the sky. Dream says yes to giving his phone number, as one does. In a couple of days Hob finds a new contact in his phone, named: "My Boyfie <3"
Bonus, AU concepts. Initial concept: Dream is a model who is constantly being hit on, hears it almost as white noise by now. Then Hob says "Man I wish I could hold his hands" loud enough for Dream to hear. So naturally, he goes to the guy. Secondary concept: it's Canon dream, he's meeting Hob for the first time. He went to the waking world to meet his sister, ended up saying "Yes" to the first human to ask him out. Hob: /Date me/ Dream, startled: "Accepted." aka how dream of the endless cannot say no to romantic endeavors even with handsome strangers.

OK, I HAVE TO share.
Pulsars in the Milky Way as a large-scale observatory for the gravitational wave background!!! 🌌
*excitedly chirps*
✨️What are gravitational waves?✨️
Gravitational waves propagate at the speed of light & cause a periodic stretching & squeezing of the narrow web of space & time - they occur when galaxies merge & black holes orbit each other!
This means that if a gravitational wave passed between us & say two merging black holes, the actual amount of space between the two objects will change. The merging black holes will be closer to or farther away from us as the gravitational wave passes through without either the black holes or Earth having moved at all!
And here's the big deal: The flashes of light from a pulsar at a certain distance from Earth will always hit Earth at the same intervals, because it will always take the light the same amount of time to travel from there to here.
But if there’s suddenly more space between the pulsar & Earth, it will take the light longer to travel from there to here & therefore the clock-like timing will be thrown off!
Gravitational wave detectors on Earth have been developed to measure the effects of short waves that occur when two stellar-mass black holes orbit close together & eventually merge.
Long gravitational waves from the active early universe can't be measured directly from Earth since we are simply not able to build a wave detector that big, but gravitational waves do change the clock frequency of pulsar stars!
✨️What are pulsars?✨️
Pulsars are stellar remnants (dead stars) that emit radio waves in two opposite directions while rotating around an axis. If the cone of radio beams passes over the Earth, the pulsar can be measured by its periodic radio pulses.
Pulsars can help to spot gravitational waves from black holes that are supermassive, millions to billions times larger than our sun.
In comparison, the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) network can only detect gravitational waves originating from smaller black holes that are up to 10 times as massive as the sun.
✨️The Gravitational Wave Background not to be confused with the Cosmic Microwave Background✨️
The gravitational wave background is theorised as a faint but persistent echo of gravitational waves to have been set off by events that took place shortly after the Big Bang & the merging of supermassive black holes throughout the universe.
Signals of these gravitational waves that make up that background have been hard to detect due to being faint, in addition to vibrating at decade-long timescales, but using those dead stars to measure these long gravitational waves might do the trick!
And GUESS WHAT HAPPENED? 🌟
They found something!
✨️A hum.✨️
In a globally coordinated announcement on June 28, different teams of scientists reported the discovery of a "low pitch hum" of these cosmic ripples flowing through the Milky Way!
Hints of the same signal were announced in a series of papers published by scientists in China, India, Europe and Australia. They say the signals may be coming from merging supermassive black holes that are caught in cosmic dances, circling each other in orbits that shrink across millions of years. During this process, they release energy in the form of gravitational waves that reverberate throughout the universe, waves that they claim to now have detected.
Of course, there is to consider that dust, gas & interstellar medium can also cause the timing of the pulses of a pulsar to deviate, but the new research claim, the "critical evidence" that betrays the source of the signals to be supermassive black holes is a unique pattern found in the arrival times of pulses from a galaxy-sized cosmic antenna of nearly 70 millisecond pulsars in the Milky Way by using 15 years of data.
Gravitational wave signals from black hole binaries overlap "like voices in a crowd" & result in an incessant hum that embeds as a unique pattern in the pulsar timing data, scientists say.
The detection of the gravitational wave background is going to open up an entirety of new studies for scientists to probe the biggest mysteries in our universe, from neutron stars to galaxy formation. It may even allow to probe new physics & fill in some of the gaps in the Standard Model.
And it turns out, the universe is loud. Not only is the background there, it’s stronger than anyone anticipated.
There are a few potential reasons for that excessive 'volume.' For one, there could just be many more merging black holes than we thought there were. For another, String Theory suggests that there might be deformations in spacetime called "cosmic strings" producing the waves.
If you believe in the Big Bounce instead of the Big Bang, the waves could be coming from that as well. And there’s always the chance that pulsars just aren’t quite as perfect as we thought.

Hello there, I am a space nerd, a fact I’m sure no one guessed from the fact that I go by Stars on the internet. I am here to explain how the moon works, because I think it’s cool and also something that most people don't know. This is mostly an infodump just for fun, but may also be vaguely useful for artists, writers & stargazers.
By “how the moon works,” I mean that although pretty much everyone knows about the moon’s phases, not everyone really gets how they affect things like when & where the moon is in the sky. See: the common idea that the sun is in the sky in the day, and the moon is in the sky at night. You know this isn’t strictly true if you’ve ever seen the moon in the sky in the daytime, but do you know how it actually works? If I gave you a moon phase and a time of day, would you be able to tell me whether the moon was in the sky or not?
I am here to (hopefully) explain how you can do that! With scribbly diagrams! Please join me under the readmore if you would like to come to my TED talk.
First of all, to avoid any accidental curse-of-knowledge assumptions on my part, let me define some terms!
First off, the phases of the moon, which you probably know most of, but bear with me. A “full moon” is when the moon is fully illuminated and appears as a circle in the sky. A “gibbous moon” is when the moon is more than half full, but not completely full—it appears large and roundish, but not a circle (not everyone knows the name for this one). A “half moon” is when the moon is half illuminated and appears as a semicircle—this one has some other names that I’ll get to in a second. A “crescent moon” is when the moon is less than half illuminated and appears as a concave curve. A “new moon” is when the moon is completely dark from Earth’s perspective and can’t be seen in the sky.

Also, “waxing” is when the moon is transitioning from new to full, or getting bigger in the sky, and “waning” is when the moon is transitioning from full to new, or getting smaller in the sky.
Speaking of “half moon,” I frequently confuse friends by calling this a “first quarter” or a “third quarter” moon. Those names refer not to the illumination of the moon but to the full cycle of phases. If you think of the moon phases as split into four quarters, starting from zero at a new moon, then halfway to full is 1/4, full is 1/2, halfway back to new is 3/4, and then we’ve reached the end/beginning of the cycle with another new moon. So one of the half moons is a first quarter moon, and the other (with the other half illuminated) is a third quarter moon.
This is where I have to add a disclaimer—I am in the northern hemisphere, and I am familiar with astronomy in the northern hemisphere. If you are in the southern hemisphere, to you, I am looking at the moon “upside down.” Yes, really. If you’re using my diagrams, flip them upside down. I’ll try to be clear when I’m talking about stuff that flips between the hemispheres, but it’s something that I struggle to wrap my head around too, so apologies if I’m confusing or miss something.
So, here’s a diagram of the moon phases to show you the difference between first and third quarter moons, but if you’re in the southern hemisphere, please flip it over to see what they would look like for you. (The chronological order still goes in the same direction as the arrow, the moon itself is just the other way in the sky.)

The fun trick I was taught to remember which way the cycle goes is “light from the right.” (Southern hemisphere people, you’ll have to flip this one.) Light, or shadow, moves from the right edge of the moon to the left. So if the moon is a crescent and the right edge is lit up, it’s waxing, or moving towards full. If the moon is a gibbous with a dark right edge, it’s just past full and will be waning towards the third quarter over the next few days. If you look at the diagram above (and imagine the crescent and gibbous phases transitioning in between), this might be easier to imagine.
Like I said, for the southern hemisphere this would actually be “light from the left.” If you’re near the equator and the moon is overhead, you could use “light from the west,” because that’s secretly the real rule. Another thing that’s useful to know for stargazing—the moon, sun and planets follow a path in the sky called the ecliptic, which is roughly over the equator. (Not exactly—it wiggles around relative to earth’s surface, because of the tilt of the earth’s axis that causes the seasons, but it stays near the equator.) If you’re standing in the northern hemisphere, the equator is south of you, so the ecliptic is also in the southern part of the sky. When you look at the moon, it will always be in the south, so the west-facing side of the moon will always be to your right. Likewise, if you’re in the southern hemisphere, the moon (and sun, and planets) will always appear in the northern half of the sky, so west will be to your left. Light moves across the moon’s surface from the west to the east.

Now you can impress people by looking at the moon and saying, “Oh look, what a lovely waxing gibbous!” (I don’t actually know if the is impressive, but I do it all the time. For bonus points, get an app on your phone that tells you the phase of the moon and check it frequently so you can plan when to stargaze. Then you can casually mention that the moon will be full in a couple days when it’s not even in the sky, and maybe people will think you’re a werewolf.)
Now that I’ve explained the moon’s phases, I get to explain how they’re related to the time and place that the moon is in the sky. See, most people (I assume) don’t think twice about things like, say, a book describing a crescent moon in the sky overhead at midnight. But that actually can’t happen! And it has to do with the moon’s position in the 3D solar system, and how that maps onto our sky. This is kind of hard for me to explain without a lot of 3D hand gestures and pointing at the sky, but I’m gonna do my best to show it in two dimensions.
So, most people probably know that the moon’s phases are caused by the sun’s light illuminating half of the moon, and since the relative positions of the moon, sun & earth change throughout the month, the half that’s illuminated moves around the moon and changes how it looks from our viewpoint. So, a very basic rule: the side of the moon that’s illuminated is the side that’s facing the sun.
So, when the moon is full, that’s because the side that faces us is also facing the sun. This means the sun is directly opposite the moon. Here’s a very scientific diagram:

In case it’s not clear, this is a “top-down” view of the solar system where the moon, earth and sun are all in the same plane (in this case it doesn’t matter if we’re looking at the north or south pole, the positions would look the same). It’s also obviously not to scale and very simplified, but the point is to demonstrate that the moon is opposite the earth from the sun.*
The little person on the earth is of course spinning around as the earth rotates once per day. But at this point in the lunar month, you can see that when they are on the side of the earth where they can see the moon, they are also on the side facing away from the sun. When the moon is full or close to full, it’s opposite the sun—it rises around sunset, sets around sunrise, and is at its peak in the sky around midnight. This is how lots of people tend to think of the moon rising and setting, but it’s only true when the moon is close to full!
If that doesn’t make sense, here’s a diagram of when the moon is at the opposite point in its cycle, a new moon:

When the moon is new, the side that faces the earth is dark, which means the opposite side is facing the sun. The moon is on the same side of earth as the sun is. The little person spinning around the earth won’t see the moon in the night sky, because the moon is close to the sun in the sky,* and it’s actually rising in the morning and setting in the evening at this time of the month! You can’t easily see the moon when it’s new, but it might be visible a few days before or after this as a crescent. You’ll only see a crescent moon in the sky during the day, or close to dawn/dusk—it will be close above the horizon where the sun has just set or is about to rise. (The light edge faces the sun, so if it’s near the horizon in twilight sometimes it will look like the light edge is actually pointing down, with the tips of the crescent pointing up in the sky.)
*A side note on eclipses: My diagram is oversimplified! The moon, earth and sun aren’t actually all in the same plane all the time, they’re slightly misaligned. So even when I say the moon and sun are “directly” opposite each other, or aligned, they aren’t lined up perfectly enough to cast shadows on each other most of the time. When they do line up perfectly at the right time, that’s when you get a solar eclipse (when the moon is new) or lunar eclipse (when the moon is full).
Okay, so when the moon is full it’s in the sky at night, and when the moon is new it’s in the sky during the day. What about in between? This is where it gets a little confusing, especially for those of you in the southern hemisphere, who are going to have to flip everything I say. Apologies in advance, but it kind of hurts my head even to explain how this works in my own half of the sky.
So, when the moon is half-full, at the first quarter and third quarter of the phase cycle I explained above, the sun’s light is coming (from our perspective) from the side. The moon is ninety degrees away in its orbit from full or new, and the sun’s light is effectively perpendicular to our viewpoint, instead of parallel. This time it matters which way we’re looking, so these are a top-down view from the northern-hemisphere side. If you’re in the southern hemisphere, I think you can flip which is the first & third quarter to make this accurate.

As you can see, when our little person is spinning around the globe, they’re going to be seeing the moon high in the sky right around the line between night and day. From a northern perspective, the earth spins counter-clockwise (vice versa from the south), so if you picture the person spinning around their little earth, you can see that the first quarter moon is going to be visible when they’re spinning from light to dark (sunset) and the third quarter moon is going to be visible when they’re spinning from dark to light (sunrise).
Bonus fun trick: If you remember the rule of “light from the right” in the northern hemisphere and how that determines the order of the phases, and look at these diagrams again, you can figure out which direction the moon orbits the earth from this viewpoint. (This is, in fact, the only way I can remember which direction the moon orbits the earth, despite being far more complicated than just memorizing it. If you’d like to make a game of it, I’ll put the answer at the bottom of the post).
Remembering how this looks from this top-down floating-above-the-earth perspective is hard, but you don’t really have to. I only explained it so it would make sense when I went back to my earlier visualization, from when I was explaining how “light from the right” works. I’m a very spatial learner, and I like picturing things relative to my own body, so this is how I remember when the different phases of the moon appear in the sky:
Imagine you’re standing, facing the ecliptic, where the sun and the moon travel through the sky. In the northern hemisphere, you’re facing south, with east to your left and west to your right. Imagine that the sun has just set, falling beneath the horizon to your right. Imagine that the moon is full, and hopefully I’ve explained well enough that now you know where it will be—cresting the horizon at your left. Imagine the opposite too—the sun is rising in the east at your left, as the full moon sinks in the west at your right. The new moon’s position, if you’d like to visualize that, is effectively the same as the sun.
Now, the difference between the two half-moons. Light comes from the west—in the northern hemisphere, your right—so when the right half is illuminated, it’s the first quarter of the lunar month, waxing to full, and when the left half is illuminated, it’s the third quarter, waning to new. One is high at dusk and one is high at dawn. Which is which?
You’re facing south. Picture a first quarter moon, right side lit up, at its peak in the southern sky. The light side is always facing the sun. Where is the sun? It must be to your right, touching the horizon in the west, setting. The first quarter moon is in the sky before, during and after dusk.
Picture a third quarter moon, left side lit up, at its peak. The light side faces the sun. The sun is to your left, touching the horizon in the east, rising. The third quarter moon is in the sky before, during and after dawn.
When I imagine this, I’m standing on my back porch, where I often go outside and stargaze. My telescope is small and one of the few things it can see with any detail is the moon. I want to be able to look at the moon just after dark, without having to stay up too late—and this memory device, of facing south and imagining the sun at my right hand to the west, is how I remember that the first quarter is the best time for me to observe the moon. It will be high in the sky at sunset, easy for me to see over the houses and trees.
If you remember that the moon waxes and wanes from the west (right in the north, left in the south), then you can fill in all the gradations of crescent and gibbous moon between the four main quarters. (As an example, if I wait a few days past first quarter to go outside and look at the moon, it’s waxed into a gibbous moon and it rises later in the evening, peaking in the sky closer to midnight. Another example: a waxing crescent is between a new moon and first quarter, so it will trail behind the sun and be above the horizon in the southwest at sunset.)
I hope that all of this makes sense and is useful to someone, whether for figuring out when you can observe the moon and where in the sky to look, or for thinking about how to place it in the sky in your writing and art. If nothing else, I hope I have brought you entertainment, and/or ruined the way the moon works in Minecraft for you forever. (It rises and sets directly opposite the sun!! Even when it’s a new moon!!! Light doesn’t work like that!!)
And finally, if you were trying to guess, the moon orbits the earth counter-clockwise if you’re looking down from the northern side.

As they say, Fuck it we ball.
This is not your typical fantasy world post as I just came up with a new setting that would be AMAZING in a visual medium.
So basically an unknown number of centuries ago, humanity was a spacefaring civilization that controlled the entire solar system. However, the The Fall happened. Nobody (not even me (or mete me)) knows what happened during The Fall, as everyone forgot it. What happened was that humanity lost their technology, and now everybody is planetbound. The most advenced civilization is venus with a mix of 1990's and 1860's tech, and even then they're in a crisis. You see, venus wasn't terraformed, and so the population had to live in the clouds. After all these years that passed, these cities are running out of fuel to stay afloat, so there's a huge crisis going on about terraforming venus with what they have. And they don't have a lot.
The moon is a very wierd place. It only has medieval technology, but it's the only terraformed body in the solar system. A majority of its population doesn't even know that they once lived on that blue dot in the sky. However, those that do, seek it with religious reverance. The people of the tranquil sea know that the lunar module is still there under the thousand of liters of water that make up the tranquil sea. And they believe that it can take them home.
Saturn has many people, but the thing that made me write this is in the clouds. Before The Fall there were ships deployed for people to live in inside saturn. From these ships, people modified them after The Fall for manual use, as they had forgotten how to use autopilot. These ships were transformed into cities, and they all have botanical gardens to generate oxygen. The cities are piloted by labourers pushing immense gears to move even more massove propellers through the saturnian "atmosphere". They stay afloat by balloons big enough to hold a herd of elephants. I wish I could draw or 3d model them, as the sights are fucking BEAUTIFUL in my head. Not even ai can satisfy this urge of mine.

A few misconceptions I’d like to address and clear up about Agere and Petre.
Agere and Petre are in No way Nsfw. Everything about it should be and stay SFW.
There’s not an age limit for someone who can regress. You can be 15, 18, 90, etc and you’re still valid.
Petre, furries, and therians are different things. Being a furry is a choice, it does not involve regressing to a different mental state. Therians are not those who regress to nor dress up as animal.
You don’t need a caregiver / handler / etc to regress. Although some may consider it helpful it is not a requirement.
Being an agere doesn’t mean you have to or are required to enjoy things like cartoons, toys, etc. you are just as valid if you like scary movies, writing, etc.
Overall, Agere and Petre aren’t limited to certain people. Anyone can regress and you are valid for it.

Monkey Wrench story focuses on a team of two mercenaries: ‘Beebs’ and Shrike Sánchez! The series followings them on their many merc adventures in *space*!

YES this wonderful little cartoon is a sci-fi adventure FILLED WITH ACTION PACKED SEQUENCED AND INCREDIBLE ANIMATION it’s humorous!! It’s got witty and dumb humor that makes me laugh!
Not convinced enough yet? Did you know there’s gonna be a whole lotta LORE to be seen? Little hints and puzzle pieces in dialogue and scenes that says “oh? well isn’t That interesting hmm??” So far there’s only 2 episodes up on the main youtube channel but ITS SO SO GOOD!! The subject varies greatly depending on social norms and community expectations but skills that function for well-being and aid individuals to develop into active and productive members of their communities are considered as life skills.

Liminal is an English adjective meaning "on the threshold", from Latin līmen, plural limina.
May refer to:
In anthropology, liminality is the quality of ambiguity or disorientation that occurs in the middle stage of a rite of passage, when participants no longer hold their pre-ritual status but have not yet begun the transition to the status they will hold when the rite is complete. During a rite's liminal stage, participants "stand at the threshold" between their previous way of structuring their identity, time, or community, and a new way (which completing the rite establishes). More recently, usage of the term has broadened to describe political and cultural change as well as rites. During liminal periods of all kinds, social hierarchies may be reversed or temporarily dissolved, continuity of tradition may become uncertain, and future outcomes once taken for granted may be thrown into doubt. The dissolution of order during liminality creates a fluid, malleable situation that enables new institutions and customs to become established. Liminal beings are those that cannot easily be placed into a single category of existence.
liminal deity is a god or goddess in mythology who presides over thresholds, gates, or doorways; "a crosser of boundaries". These gods are believed to oversee a state of transition of some kind; such as, the old to the new, the unconscious to the conscious state, the familiar to the unknown.
Liminal spaces are the subject of an Internet aesthetic portraying empty or abandoned places that appear eerie, forlorn, and often surreal. Liminal spaces are commonly places of transition (pertaining to the concept of liminality) or of nostalgic appeal. Research from the Journal of Environmental Psychology has indicated that liminal spaces may appear eerie or strange because they fall into an uncanny valley of architecture and physical places.
Psychology:
Liminal experiences, feelings of abandonment (existentialism) associated with death, illness, disaster, etc. Existential thought bases itself fundamentally in the idea that one's identity is constituted neither by nature nor by culture, since to "exist" is precisely to constitute such an identity.
In Depth Psychology:
Jungians have often seen the individuation process of self-realization as taking place within a liminal space. "
Individuation can be seen as a "movement through liminal space and time, from disorientation to integration [...] What takes place in the dark phase of liminality is a process of breaking down [...] in the interest of 'making whole' one's meaning, purpose and sense of relatedness once more".
As an archetypal figure, "the trickster is a symbol of the liminal state itself, and of its permanent accessibility as a source of recreative power".
Jungian-based analytical psychology is also deeply rooted in the ideas of liminality. The idea of a 'container' or 'vessel' as a key player in the ritual process of psychotherapy has been noted by many and Carl Jung's objective was to provide a space he called "a temenos, a magic circle, a vessel, in which the transformation inherent in the patient's condition would be allowed to take place."
Jungians however have perhaps been most explicit about the "need to accord space, time and place for liminal feeling"—as well about the associated dangers, "two mistakes: we provide no ritual space at all in our lives [...] or we stay in it too long". Indeed, Jung's psychology has itself been described as "a form of 'permanent liminality' in which there is no need to return to social structure".
