hi !! ok so i got this rb on my post with a screenshot of mariah’s tweet abt jon matteson signing the mariah ethan petition and i figured i respond to it cause ive seen other people saying similar things.
firstly, i didn’t create the actual petition, idk if this person thought i did but i thought i’d just make that clear. the person who created it did use my art and they tagged me so that’s how i originally found out abt it.
anyway, i basically agree with everything said here, i don’t expect mariah to take over the role, i dont WANT mariah to take over the role, i love joey ethan and when i drew mariah ethan my only intention was to create a fun little hc that could stay within the fandom. and that’s still my intention, i love seeing art of her and ppl talking about her but i don’t want mariah to actually take joeys role.
however. i realize that a lot of stuff ive said probably comes across like i do want her to replace the role which is mostly why im making this post bc i don’t. want people to think that. and i am sorry if anything i said or did was disrespectful, i did not mean to but i can see how the petition situation definitely was and i apologize.
specifically with the post this rb is on, i was honestly a little weirded out by the petition as well, i talked about it with some friends and we kind of came to a general consensus that it was kind of toeing the line of disrespectful but overall that it wasn’t a huge deal. and when jon apparently signed it and mariah tweeted about it i figured the actors didn’t mind too much either, so i made that post just being like “wow the actual actors are engaging with our silly bits again.” that’s all i meant to convey with that post, i figured the petition was just a bit that would last a day or two and then everything would go back to normal. which is pretty much what happened i think
Anyway. this is so long sorry but my main points are that my intention with mariah ethan is just a silly little hc and im sorry for being disrespectful and making it seem like i was trying to genuinely switch the casting.
and basically like. directed at the general public, don’t actually try to pressure starkid or mariah into doing anything! we can have joey ethan and also have our mariah ethan hc and love them both!

honestly i’m not into the type of content you post but there’s no reason for people to get nasty. you’re a human being and people can express disagreement politely, no matter what happened, two wrongs don’t make a right, and nobody should be harassing anyone either way. i don’t know the full story here but this kind of behavior is never acceptable. sorry people are being mean!
the origin of all this was: in january i stumbled upon a post with like 40+ notes of her and some others talking about disliking my use of the austin tag. i was really taken aback bc *no one* had come directly to me, not even by anon, about my tag system, then boom i was seeing mutuals and blogs i really liked gathering in a public complaint session about me. i was admittedly a little bitey about not wanting to change how i tag things (and idk if y’all have noticed but i don’t use the austin tag as liberally now that we talk a lot more abt him and kaia since he’s not doing much. i try to keep posts tagged with his name to 1-3 per xyz specific topic if it’s related to someone other than him). but it was coming from a place of frustration that no one came to me personally. linds did message me directly, eventually, and i was trying to take my time with responding so i could draft up what i wanted to say civilly. but by the time i went to send it an hour later she had blocked me. which objectively, fine. i was frustrated bc i was going to try and talk things out with her, but i’ve always said ppl can block me if they please so, it was what it was.
the main issues however started shortly after all that. people that already didn’t like me and were aware of our falling out went to use her as a sounding board. which she happily welcomed, and she posted numerous anons of people accusing me of harassment and bullying without any actual stories of when i did that/what i did. there was one anon in particular that genuinely really hurt, because they were saying i left the theatre industry bc people hated my broadway gossip tumblr, which isn’t true. my blog was generally liked. i distanced myself from the theatre industry because i was groomed for 4 years by an industry professional and exposing my groomer and seeing first hand how little theatre cares about abusers (the alice ripely stuff happened not long after i exposed my groomer, and i exposed mine around when scott rudin was finally getting ran out) made me want nothing to do with it anymore. i have been open about why i left theatre, and incase they missed that made a post asking for someone who wasn’t blocked to ask linds to take that particular anon down. but i don’t think it ever happened.
as for the kaia stuff- i gen think that was born from her just wanting to be the anti thesis to my gossip. which is…interesting when the whole reason she was upset about me using the austin tag ‘too much’ was because she thought gossip was disrespectful. but here we are.

Ok so I have this little game that I don’t know if someone already has done but let’s do this!

The tiers I would use are: Besties (practically that, this character would 100% vibe with you), sorta friends (is like that weird space between knowing someone for a long time, but not much about them), someone I know (that’s it, not really deep communication or interaction) and no (they wouldn’t interact with you/you wouldn’t interact with them at all)
Like, for example, I think I would realistically be sorta friends with Fischl!

ok yeah so i have this fully-fledged bad buddy x the gifted au in my brain that is half based on all the ohmnanon dramas i've come to watch after bad buddy plus all the things i hope the gifted would've been instead of. well. what it was 😬 the concept was super cool but i didn't really like their execution lol
but i have powers for the main six, i have backstories for most of them. i have figured out some of the struggles they go through! also yes this is a mutant au basically and of course that means there's a ton of Angst and things get way rougher than in the gifted. also the school system or whatever is more Nuts bc i said so. also bc i love mutant aus and the mutants always breaking free and lowkey starting a revolution or something. not just the small scale struggle they had going on in the gifted smh
(also as a side note, i have seen at least two other the gifted aus for bad buddy and both were really good so! idk if i really would have any place there so am happy to keep this in my own head basically :') i can just go feral every time i think about what i could write for them haha)
if i can talk about the powers i have figured out, then they go as:
pran - can control soundwaves which basically means that he can a) hear very well (at first involuntarily which is kind of rough), b) use sound as a weapon and c) talk to ppl who are far away
pat - a type of power sealing power? he can make others' powers disappear by touch. usually, the effect lasts only for a while but he can make it permanent too (has done this only by accident for now). my initial plan for him was him being some type of "shield" against powers but that felt too much like bella swan. so now he's this. tho i feel like he still gets parts of the "shield" idea bc i thought that at some point he might be able to develop his power into using it at will to just block others' powers when they try to use them
wai - can control senses so hallucinations, sensory deprivation, all that. if it's subtle he can just make ppl believe basically anything bc they thought they sensed it. if it's violent enough, he could kill ppl.
korn - super strength. lowkey a cliche but i like this. he can probably develop his power into being lowkey indestructible. he probably also heals fast.
pha - can control earth. she is the reason the jindapat siblings discover their powers. she suddenly gets a temper tantrum at ten and breaks their living room floor. bc pat is her biological brother, it is considered most likely that he will develop a power too. it takes him a year before he discovers that what he thought was just his social skill at calming down ppl is actually his ability to make their powers vanish for a moment.
ink - able to read and manipulate emotions. kind of like claire in the gifted but more extreme. she usually uses her skill to help others but she can be terrifying if someone does her wrong. ever cried so hard your heart gave out? not fun.
and that's about it. i have some meetings and conflicts figured out outside of their powers. also i think these could make very nice dynamics to explore. (tagging @mejomonster to this too if you're right and they wish to see this!)

#the bad buddy x the gifted au is something that keeps me afloat ok#watching all these ohmnanon dramas has made me Feral#like have you seen nanon in the gifted or in blacklist?#the faces that boy makes?? delicious whump#i want to whump pran so bad#and bad buddy doesn't really offer us that bc that drama is Soft#and i cannot give anything but nice things to pran there#so au it is haha#and what an au it is ok i have come to majorly Wreck His Ass#the boy in this au is so angsty he wishes i was not in love with him#bc wow does he get hurt by his own power#he struggles with it so much#also it's been fun trying to come up with like#the reasons why some things that happen in bad buddy happen in this#like why does pran have to leave school when their parents aren't really involved in any of this in the au?#well i think it's bc he accidentally hurts someone with his powers#and is deemed too dangerous to attend this normal school#and well he and pat know each other then#and are kind of friends and kind of close#and then pat is left behind bc well his power isn't really dangerous#his power is Good#and then pran meets wai in the facility he ends up in#and wai is Dangerous too#and they bond over this#before somehow pat ends up there too#and they meet up again#and this time it's not just friendship but they Fall In Love#bc what will be sadder than loving someone in that type of environment#where they cannot be sure what happens to any of them

after reading your response, i think i get it now 😭 perhaps her unbending will is just her. no doubt about it! so im retracting the statement about her "not having personality".
although, it would've been nice to know how she came to be that way too because xinyan's mirage wasn't much of a story (now idk if it was meant to be, but i'm assuming it was considering what they did with kazuha's).
but anyways, what i'm trying to say is that i'll definitely be thinking about this more 🥲 thanks for your kind and open-minded response.

oh my gosh hi hi!!! first of all omg i hope my tags didnt come off as aggressive or argumentative i literally just have a habit of rambling in the tags wahaha!! i was just playing off what u said in ur post and just wanted to add my thoughts!! cos i dont usually make my own posts abt things and tend to hop in the tags of posts other ppl make to write out my own thoughts!! +shes my fave genshin chara waahaha so yea i just went n rambled!! (and im abt to ramble again im so sorry this reply is so long)
but yea!! i rly do appreciate ur yanyan questline critique bec the depth that we can see in the other characters. hyv writers simply refuse to give to her lol. and which is why the rest of the fandom still see her as boring or superficial etc etc. so 100% good on u for touching on that bec its true!!
her mirage didnt exactly have the same feel as kazuha's, where we were literally uncovering bits of his backstory bit by bit thru the mirage. every level of kazoo's mirage, we can see the kaedehara home deteriorate and break down bit by bit as we go further inside it. while yanyan's was just like. an abstract version of her daily life. w other extra elements like the flower, heat, and the music motifs.
am personally still on the fence whether the disparity between their mirages is simply a result of their differing personalities and history, or if its purely lazy writing for yanyan's lore!! remains to be seen until fischl's and mona's because. yanyan was able to get a handle of the stuff that went on in her mirage in some capacity, while kazoo's was a little less controlled? if that makes sense hehe.
cos the event treated the whole silhouette in screen doors/windows sequences differently between those two mirages. kazoo's felt more like a memory, while yanyan was able to interact w the other silhouettes that weren't her parents. imho its bec kazoo didn't rly get a chance to resolve these things w his family, giving that feeling of like. his past still haunting him n stuff. the burden that pushed him to be a wanderer in the first place. whereas yanyan literally has to fight these statements made against her every single day. so they don't rly make an impact in yanyan's mirage as much as kazoo's did, bec yanyan already knows the words and attitude down to. pacify them wahaha. literally where everyone else gets mad at their remarks but shes just like "lol let me handle this" and resolves the situation ez pz lemon squeezy. so depending on how fischl and mona will engage with their respective mirages, it might just be differences in personality n response to what is being shown in the mirages. considering that their mirages effectively portrayed their backstory n history (cos if not, then its def a writing problem haha)
but!! i do agree that this event would've been the perfect opportunity to show the exact moment she got the spark for rock and roll!! bec her character details dont rly elaborate where she found out abt rock and roll save for the fact that she immersed herself into teyvats world of music and experimented w different techniques (specifically her use of fire n pyrotechnics). so that would've definitely been nice to see represented in the mirage itself, or at the very least in the little 2d cutscene after the quest's main story. cos i was def shocked at how different yanyans cutscene was from that of kazuhas.
i'd default with the whole "oghhg fontaine lore not finished yet" but also: 1) writers could've sprinkled something. regardless if fontaine isnt out yet. they do it w/ fontaine npcs why couldn't they do it w a major event chara; 2) mona's mirage! if they show smth fontaine related im going to have a stroke bec they COULDVE done it for yanyan. but chose not to for some god forsaken raisin. and; 3) the extent of fontaine in yanyan's discovery of rock and roll isnt rly. known. its just that she immersed herself in diff music including rock and roll, and that rock and roll is from fontaine. so maybe fontaine isn't even involved. could've been some random person who was rockin and rollin and yanyan saw. meaning this circles back to the whole "this event could've touched more on her spark for rock and roll" thing too.
bottom line is. i do think that they did a good job w fleshing out yanyan's personality in this event, could 100% do more w exploring her backstory!! AND that ur original post was very good!! because everyone else is probably disregarding her quest anyway bec they're not as invested in her lol. so idk im happy to eat up any thoughts anyone has abt the quest because my god my baby girl deserves the spotlight so bad qwq

hi! i’m the one who asked about trigger warnings. the fic that came to mind was where reader loved alice cullen, but reader was human and really sick, and didn’t want to be immortal. and then reader dies. it broke my heart 😭 your writing is just too good and it makes me immerse myself into your stories, but i try to stay away from MCD. if you were to go through with the warnings, maybe broader and generalized terms would work for some things? ik ppl would prefer not to read violence or even smut sometimes, and just like for me, im sure stuff surrounding mental health like panic attacks or depression could be help some ppl? (idk if you write any of that stuff) and if you’ve ever used ao3, or taken a look at it, you could get ideas from there? ik ppl have different triggers and such, so you could even try making a google doc to link in your bio or use your asks for ppl to express what things they’d like to be warned about? oh my, i’m sorry this is so long, and i hope you consider something like this as well as knowing that i tried to say this in the politest way possible! <3

I do trigger warn depression, and themes surround this and any sort of violence surrounding abuse which I absolutely will NEVER go into detail with, it’ll on be mentioned as I know some people do ask for fics where it’s mentioned to their favourite characters
However these are the only sort of ones thing I trigger warn as these are the main ones I wished people would’ve warned me about when I started reading fics
I do agree with trigger wanting smut as well, but I don’t write this
However, as I know MCD is a huge trigger I will trigger warn future fics if it so you know to stay away! 💜

hot take but main tags are for everyone whether u like the content or not. look im really sorry that you saw content that triggered you, thats awful. in this case though u can send a polite ask or comment directly under the post asking the person to add tags such as #tw sa and #tw grooming and then block said tags. if the person refuses (which is an asshole move lol not everyone wants to see this kind of content thats facts,) u can directly block the person and thus never see their content again. but yea agree that not adding tw tags sucks
To be honest I'll say you're right and you should be able to use the main tags. That was more a silly, upset statement on my part because of how I was feeling at the time rather than thinking of it logically.
As for trying to talk or ask for tags/warnings, unfortunately not everyone wants to do that. And I've blocked literal hundreds of people to try and avoid seeing those sorts of posts. I actually blocked that person and all of their hundreds of followers just so I can try and avoid that community on twt.
It's just frustrating to see people time and time and time again not tag their stuff. I have every variation of proship/dead dove/etc. blocked that I could find. I know I said it in a post before this, but I have gone many months without seeing anything proship. All it takes is a few people not tagging their stuff properly to mess that up. I feel it's especially bad on twt because of the word count limit where ppl don't wanna add that extra "hey this is proship! Don't read!" bc it'll take up space. At least most ppl on Tumblr will add something like that, which I certainly respect more.
Idk I just wish people would be more considerate I guess. I think this turned more into a ramble so forgive me for that but yeah.

Biotics or Tech: Tech though throwing ppl is fun

Favourite Class: Engineer BUT with the sniper talent from Infiltrator, (played it on my 2nd playthrough)
Favourite Companion: Wrex, though very hard to pick for this one. I also have a bias for Ash b/c I've used her a lot
Least favourite Companion: I like them all ... i'll cheat and say Brooks. She's cool too LOL
My squad selection: I switch my primary team every run so I usually don't have the same matchups. For each of my sheps so far, these were my mains though i didn't always stick to them :
Andy - Liara+Ash / Thane+Kasumi / Liara+Ash
Alanis - Garrus+Wrex (or Liara) / Jacob+Garrus (or Thane) / Garrus+Liara (so far, haven't played much of 3 with him)

Favourite In-game romance: Really hard to pick, probably Ashley's though it's a bit lacking in 3 in some parts. Otherwise Traynor or Liara (especially in 2). The others I just need to actually play haha
Other pairings I like: I like most if not all of the "canon" leaning pairings, also like James/Steve, Liara/Garrus, Ash/Liara, tbh I'm open to a lot
Favourite NPC: Nyreen Kandros. I also love Nihlus a lot even though he lasts like 30 mins
Favourite Antagonist: I don't have strong feelings about a lot of them but probably the Illusive Man bc of the whole "betrayal" angle plus how involved he is in 2/3. I used to not like Udina either but now I have some respect for him
Favourite Mission: i like the find the IFF mission in 2. I like a lot of 3's mission's too but it's been so long since I've played I'm forgetting lol
Favourite Loyalty Mission: Kasumi's probably, or Thane's for the chase - or Grunt's! Love that Thresher Maw fight
Favourite DLC: Citadel + Lair of the Shadow Broker but I like leviathan a lot as well

i shouldn't care if someone who knows my mum sees me in the streets, deadnames me and blatantly looks at my legs with disgust... but i do care lol
