there is also the option of slow exposure to get yourself used to it that worked for me really well as a kid up until now, very unpleasant in the short term but better for the long term. This isn't a demand but please consider it as an option
- you said you went months without seeing dead dove so it sounds nice to if on occasion where it was unavoidable, if you had strategies in place to manage that

Yeah quite honestly I don't know what I expected bc again. Internet. People do not know how to be nice. I think sometimes I curate my online experience so much that events like today just catch me completely off- guard and hit harder, therefore send me spiraling harder, if that makes sense 😭
For me personally I don't know if exposure therapy is the right way to go purely for personal reasons that I won't dump on an anon but!!! I'm very glad it's worked for you!!! I think today was big because I kinda found that de-escalation/chilling out tactics I use whenever I have panic or anxiety attacks actually rlly help in cases like this. Also while I hated that my friend also saw what I did, it was kinda nice to have someone to talk to about it?
Anyway, once cooler heads prevail I always just block and try to move on :') Hopefully this won't happen again for at least a few months (maybe longer now that I'm adding more words to filter out) and next time it won't be as bad!!! Thank u for the suggestion!!

agree its frustrating that not everyone wants to tag properly. look i dont talk about any sensitive topics on tumblr or twt but on ao3 im very careful to put all the tags that apply especially when it can be triggering. ive already come across unpleasant surprises cuz of people who hadnt tagged their fics correctly, i know what its like to come across something u dont want to see and its awful
unfortunately though other than reminding them to properly tag their posts or blocking them, idk how to fix this issue & its very frustrating. and EVEN twts word limit shouldnt be an excuse cuz u just need to add a simple #proship and youre done no need to put out a whole sentence lol! anyway yes agree that tumblr is infinitely better than twt for tag space
no need for forgiving either tbh, of course u were upset at the time and it showed in your writing, but the point you emphasize is very important! people should learn how to properly tag their stuff both for people who are looking for that specifically or those who want to avoid it

Yeah honestly it's bad on both ends I don't think ppl should have to be exposed to content that could potentially trigger them blegh. Even antis will put horrific things and then crosstag just to be rude which is. Super fucked up. I wish people could be Normal and Nice to one another and take other's feelings into consideration but it's the internet so. No peace here ig 🙄
I appreciate you (as well as several other proshippers) being so kind despite how upset I came across, it gives me a lot of hope that hey!!! Some people actually DO care!! 😭💖 If the other proship spaces are gonna be kind Off then at least the Tumblr ones are gonna put in the effort to be kind 💪🏻 I absolutely have to give credit where it's due

hot take but main tags are for everyone whether u like the content or not. look im really sorry that you saw content that triggered you, thats awful. in this case though u can send a polite ask or comment directly under the post asking the person to add tags such as #tw sa and #tw grooming and then block said tags. if the person refuses (which is an asshole move lol not everyone wants to see this kind of content thats facts,) u can directly block the person and thus never see their content again. but yea agree that not adding tw tags sucks
To be honest I'll say you're right and you should be able to use the main tags. That was more a silly, upset statement on my part because of how I was feeling at the time rather than thinking of it logically.
As for trying to talk or ask for tags/warnings, unfortunately not everyone wants to do that. And I've blocked literal hundreds of people to try and avoid seeing those sorts of posts. I actually blocked that person and all of their hundreds of followers just so I can try and avoid that community on twt.
It's just frustrating to see people time and time and time again not tag their stuff. I have every variation of proship/dead dove/etc. blocked that I could find. I know I said it in a post before this, but I have gone many months without seeing anything proship. All it takes is a few people not tagging their stuff properly to mess that up. I feel it's especially bad on twt because of the word count limit where ppl don't wanna add that extra "hey this is proship! Don't read!" bc it'll take up space. At least most ppl on Tumblr will add something like that, which I certainly respect more.
Idk I just wish people would be more considerate I guess. I think this turned more into a ramble so forgive me for that but yeah.

Respectfully, you tag it as proship. Many have the proship tag blocked both on here and wherever else. I can go months without ever seeing anything proship until someone decides not to tag their art/writing.
There are still ways the post can bypass that or somehow end up on someone's tl or dash, but I have more respect for people who tag their content as proship or dead dove to somewhat try and prevent it. It's at least an attempt to make sure people who will be triggered or hurt won't see it rather than not doing anything at all.
im sorry that there are antis that are being triggered by someone saying certain things about fictional characters.
regardless, proshippers are allowed to post in main tags.
how are prishippers suppose to tag those posts? there is a lot of censorship on this site. there are tags I also want to use in order to warn ppl but I literally can't use them.
when someone makes posts like that, they should mark it as mature. I have seen posts not being marked and they go much further than I would. I don't know the rules on this, idk how far ppl can go with posts without marking them.

I fucking despise proshippers who are public and post in the public tags and make no effort to conceal their nasty ass posts other than a mention that they're a proshipper in their bio
Sorry but you putting that in ur bio doesn't mean normal ppl aren't gonna see the posts!!!! Typically ppl will see your posts before they ever see your bio.
Both my friend and I were triggered recently by some ppl describing how characters would SA and groom one another. And that's putting it nicely as to not accidentally harm anyone else.
There's no fucking excuse for that to remain untagged and for anyone to see. That is fucking vile. We just wanted to see regular content of our faves and then we see that. It made me feel physically ill.
It's all "they're just fictional characters!! Who cares what we do with them!! We're coping!" But y'all will use main tags or not tag your dead dove shit properly and send people who accidentally come across your shit spiraling.
At least private your shit or tag it so no one else has to see it
