THEIR REACTION WHEN YOU ARE SORE THE MORNING AFTER
(Characters are aged up!!!!)

Zuko ☆
When you softly wince getting out of bed, Zuko is instantly concerned. "You okay?" he asks, brows furrowed.
After you admit to some mild soreness, he feels guilty for being so rough. He presses a gentle kiss to your forehead and murmurs apologies.
His touch turns even more tender and careful as he helps you move. Strong arms support you gently while fetching hot tea and warming up breakfast.
Over breakfast in bed, he massages you aching muscles lovingly. "I got carried away yesterday. Should've gone easier on you, princess." .
Zuko insists on a lazy morning cuddling,while rubbing your thighs gently , His embrace is protective and comforting, . "Let me take care of you today, love."
Extra kisses are peppered wherever they'll draw a smile from you. trying to ease any lingering pain or discomfort.
If pain doesn't go away, he won't hesitate to call in the doctor ,your wellbeing is top priority over anything else.
Zuko is perfect when it comes to aftercare, he loves you too much to see you in discomfort .
Aang ☆
When you wake with a soft groan, every muscle aching, Aang is immediately attentive.
"Sore, baby?" he asks gently, brows furrowed with concern. You nod stiffly and he clicks his tongue in sympathy.
He fetches a warm heating pad, gently spreading it over your sensitive areas and massaging any knots he finds tenderly.
"I got carried away last night, I'm sorry. Should've been more careful," he murmurs, pressing apologetic kisses to your shoulders.
You assure him it was more than worth the feeling. Aang still feels guiltily and responsible.
He draws a hot bath, helping you ease slowly in with a soft sigh. He helps you wash gently, kneading sore muscles under water.
Later, with medicine and rest, movement comes easier and pain goes away. He still hovers protectively, reassured by your smiles and kisses.
Sokka ☆
The next morning, Sokka notices you moving a bit stiffly while making breakfast.
coming up behind to whisper in your ear - "Sore, are we? I didn't take you for such a lightweight."
His lips curl in a smug smirk, eyes glittering with mischief. You glare and elbow him half-heartedly.
Later at lunch, he secretly feeds you extra protein and gives you a back massage to soothe your aching muscles.
"Sorry, I may have gotten a little carried away last night," he apologizes sheepishly, pressing gentle kisses to your shoulder.
That evening, he draws you a relaxing bath. "Let me take care of you properly this time," Sokka offers softly.
After, you two cuddle in bed as he feeds you snacks and rubs soothing lotion into your skin, eyes full of affection.
"You okay? We don't have to do anything else tonight, just rest," he assures you.
When you make love again more gently, he takes his time exploring and memorizing every inch of you with deep love and care

the way this man looks at you while you and the gaang are riding on appa is genuinely so criminal. he has this pathetically in love smile on your face because 1) pretty girl, and 2) pretty girl with nice personality that 3) tells him nice things all of the time and 3) gives him he best hugs that he could ever ask for (he does not ask for hugs so he always leans in for an extra second thinking that you won't notice😭<33)
and OH MAN your love language is words of affirmation and acts of service?? this man is THE NUMBER ONE GUY EVER to be the act of service. he used to only keep one extra hair tie around his wrist for himself, but now he keeps up to five at times, in all sorts of colors, and hands you one when it looks like the wind is in your hair AJSJCHSHAHJ AND AND OH MAN whenever you seem to be slightly quieter than usual in a public, crowded space, he'll slowly bring you to a quiter place so you can recharge your social battery. he doesn't make it a huge grand gesture all of the time, but he wants it to be enough that you know someone out there cares, but not so much that you waste more energy worrying that you're a burden (SPOILER ALERT YOu'RE NOT ILYSM)
sokka absolutely melts when he sees you get excited about your passions. he does not speak korean but he will learn for you. he will sing songs by txt and say "this one's a banger, check this out," and start singing his heart out AND he will learn the choreo for it too (and it'll be at the randomest times 😭like 7am in the morning while you're rubbing sleep out of your eyes and he just starts it's so funny he loves yous o bad)
the king of giving random compliments throughout the day ever. will tell you that he loves your smile and loves your smile lines and loves your nose and loves your hair and how you talk and how you say certain words and how you text and how
AND!! best part this man will never ever ever make you sit on the inside of the booths and will know so fast and immediately sit there first AUUAUSGCH and also if you ever do self isolate he'll be the first to know,, he's done it himself obviously, but he's learned that shouldering things alone isn't what people were made for. he'll come sit by next to you if you need it or just slide down the wall beside you and sit with you at his side. no prying, no demands, no "making it about myself," he will just sit and breathe and listen to you. he'll also try to cheer you up by getting you take out or boba BWHJABHC and if all else fails he'll hold you and tell you sweet nothings UAUAAUGGAGAGHSHCGH WAILING VIOLENTLY

sOkKa mY BeLoVed??? king????? i've missed writing for him.
1-3 random headcanons i have about them:
sokka is a traveler. after traveling the world with the gaang, he never really got that sense of adventure to leave his bones. he's gone everywhere, forced all of his friends to go on a Life Changing Feildtrip with him somewhere, and has learned so much (history, skills, culture, etc.). however, he always goes back home. how could he ever leave? too much of his life is tied to there - his family, his people. he's always coming back with more outlandish tales and more trinkets and souvenirs for everyone, and he sleeps the best when he's at home.
sokka is also big on pen pals. he has friends all over the world, now, and he writes to them often and at length. he likes to include drawings on his letters to aang and zuko (very rarely on katara's letters - she never ApPrEcIaTeS tHeM aS sHe ShOuLd.) and while his art skills haven't improved very greatly, they're still some of the best things aang and zuko have. it's honestly impressive, though, the network that sokka has built. he makes friends often (and increasingly easily in his older years) and he is able to cultivate those relationships even over such great distances.
sokka actually has one of the most extensive and diverse personal libraries you will ever see.
an au or fanfiction trope i think the character would do well in:
cLEARLY an academic rivals to lovers au!
can you imagine the potential of this? you are a well-established student getting top marks in many of your classes, and along comes this new students who took a gap year to travel around the world and he starts beating you in some of your classes??? and coming second in others??? and he obnoxiously uses an entire BOX of highlighters when taking notes in your lectures, and when you give an answer or opinion he'll smugly refute it with a different claim of his own, and you both can go back and forth for literal hours if no one stops you,,,,,,,
and at some point you're working in the library late at night absolutely Struggling with some class you're not that talented in, when sokka sits down across from you because... well, yeah, all the other tables are packed, that's true, but probably because he just wants to annoy you. and so you work in silence for a long time, Suffering over this assignment that you have absolutely no clue how to do, when sokka caves and offers to help you with the assignment. maybe there's some back and forth, or maybe you're too tired and just say yes, but he helps you. and of course, he clever as hell and knows tricks that are actually helpful (his study habits are actually really good, you should take notes on how to take notes and review tbh) and when you say thanks, he gives you this smile that just—
wait. what are you thinking? nonono - this is sokka we're talking about. and clearly you have to repay this debt - wouldn't want him thinking he has the upper hand on you, right? so you let him know if he ever needs help... well, you slip him your number. for academic reasons. he probably thinks of a million and one jokes right then and there, but he just says thanks. which you weren't expecting. huh.
but it's not too long after that he takes you up on that offer to help. and perhaps it becomes a pattern. and perhaps you're spending most nights at the library together, and then the other's dorm, and then just going out for breakfast because,, and oh, no. this wasn't supposed to happen. was it?
where they should be taken on a date or relaxing day off:
not to continue to promote my headcanon of sokka being a traveler, but vacations abroad? or trips to a new town? or even just going out to camp for a few days? all of those are perfect. sokka just loves getting out. preferably, he'd like to stay in a town so you can sleep comfortably and enjoy yourselves in style, but he's honestly cool with anything.
but also,,,, just doing tourist things is so fun. going out to shops. eating at fancy restaurants. buying overpriced souvenirs and getting supplies for trips... he loves it. make a list! write down ten things you want to go do for the weekend! he adores itineraries and tours and tourist attractions that zuko claims are money pits. it's about the experience, don't you know?

this doesn't remind me of him per se, but i have a feeling sokka would vibe with the diaries of franz kafka for some reason. why? idk. i just get the feeling he'd strong opinions about it asdfgfdsdf

One of my headcanons is that when Sokka goes searching for his space sword (and finds it) at some point he hears some branches crack and a loud roar behind him. Instead of running he turns around very slowly and finds himself looking up to a huge and terrifying Saber Tooth Moose Lion. He thinks: Okay, that's it. I'm done.
They stare at each other and then the STML goes down on his front legs and wriggles his tail, obviously excited to have met him and it reminds Sokka of someone.
"Foo Foo Cuddly Poops?!"
It starts to jump around excitedly, stops before Sokka and licks him (he's afraid the saber teeth might slice him and its breath stinks horribly). But Sokka is also super excited.
He gets back to the Fire Nation riding on Foo Foo's back and everybody is like: WTF Sokka? You can't have a Saber Tooth Moose Lion as a pet!
Sokka: So Aang has a Sky Bison, Suki has a Giant Eel-Hound, Zuko gets to have a freaking Dragon, but me keeping Foo Foo is a problem? Hypocrites!

zuko feels a crushing weight in his chest and a tightness in his throat whenever sokka feeds an animal or talks about an invention or makes himself laugh and zuko is like yeah this is just how people feel about sokka, this is the standard procedure when experiencing sokka because it’s obvious to everyone that sokka is the best man on earth and it’s a universally held opinion that everything he does is super cool so it’s only natural that those in his presence feel giddy and overwhelmed and in awe and protective all at once all the time

WHEN HE'S THE LITTLE SPOON WHILE CUDDLING (modern au)
SOKKA
You snuggled up watching a movie,you are curled into Sokka's chest as usual.
But tonight he gets a mischievous glint. "You know, I don't think I've ever been the little spoon before."
You laugh, thinking he's joking. But when he pries your arms off and rolls over, you realize he's serious.
You wrap your body around his back, chin fitting into his shoulder. Sokka lets out a content sigh.
"This is kind of nice actually. I can see the appeal now," he admits as you giggle.
Your arms feel so safe and warm enveloping him. He can't help but relax into your soft embrace.
You lay like that for a few minutes, your steady breaths on his neck lulling Him towards sleep.
ZUKO
Zuko is usually the big spoon during your cuddling sessions. But one night he gets the urge to change things up.
He rolls over so his back is to you and hesitantly moves your arm over his waist.
You can tell he's a bit self-conscious so you snuggle in close and hold him tightly. You press soft kisses to the back of his neck and shoulders.
Zuko relaxes into your embrace with a soft sigh. It feels nice to be held for a change and let someone else be the strong one.
He covers your hand with his own and interlaces your fingers, enjoying the intimacy.
He surprises even himself with how much he enjoys being your little spoon. He starts to crave it just as much as giving you cuddles.

Brace yourself, Zukka headcanon incoming in 3…2…1…
Everybody makes fun of Sokka’s drawings when they’re all together, but in private Zuko actually encourages him to keep practising: therefore, Sokka never quits and gets really good at it.
Finally, when he feels confident enough, he asks Zuko to pose for him; the Firelord feels embarrassed and reluctant at first, but decides to give it a try anyway and he sucks at being a model ‘cause he keeps moving (mostly because he wants to glance at what Sokka is doing, but also for the sake of pissing the artist off.)
Anyway, he would soon get lost in the sight of Sokka’s concentrated face: it was the same focused expression he had while planning an attack or strategizing, but there was something different Zuko couldn’t quite understand: maybe it was the way his gaze indulged on the Firelord’s shoulders, wrapped in a see-through red and golden scarf? or the brush he placed behind the ear? Or the messy hair strands escaping his usually perfect ponytail?
(Somewhen, Zuko finally realises it was the caring way Sokka looked at even the tiniest and ugliest bits of him, wanting the canvas to carry all the loving things Zuko couldn’t see and appreciate about himself)
The final results is astonishing. The Firelord is taken aback by the warmth and the glow the portrait emanates, as if Sokka somehow managed to capture his firebending powers in it.
He can’t take his eyes out of it, not really out of vanity, but simply because seeing himself through Sokka’s eyes is way different than looking in a mirror: it was like looking at the best version of himself, the one he always hoped and tried to become, and…
And he is so glad Sokka, of all people, sees him that way. 🩵

Zukka headcanon
After Zuko joins the Gaang, Sokka makes it his personal mission to make him feel more welcome in the group.
Maybe the reason Sokka challenged Zuko to the swordfight was because he wanted him to be more included, but at that point no one besides Aang wanted to train with him? And maybe he arranged for everyone to watch because he wanted to encourage them to also start training with Zuko?
Also it seems that Suki and Hakoda are not here, which means that it's likely before the Boiling Rock. And yet Sokka already trusts Zuko enough to train with him using dangerous weapons, and he already seems pretty relaxed and comfortable around him.
