some examples i can think of brotherhood crimes of doing riza(and royai) dirty in my opinion that's the absolute truth in the universe. consciously excluding stuff i think are minor but annoy me just as bad or else this post would be too exhausting:
being ugly in general
not including her time travel joke from when they learn that the elrics are kids and not adults on their way to recruiting them
not including the scene where roy meets her after she calls him when she meets barry the chopper and threatens to burn him out of jealousy
changing the dialogue after roy saves her from gluttony from:

LIKE...... if brotherhood has the habit of cutting off scenes to make it shorter then WHY they would change this scene to become BIGGER AND WORSE. the dialogue in manga is a clear example of their trust and wordless care for each other. while in broho it's just ?????? roy being an asshole????? to his wife?????? whom he just left his post running for bc he sensed she was in danger???? whoever chose to change this dialogue. kill yourself
riza being nice to alphonse when they are at 3rd laboratory:
not including the only time in the whole series roy calls her by her first name only:
the WHOLE ishval arc. riza telling ed about ishval lasts a whole ass volume while it's barely an entire episode in anime like... hm.. for starters the way roy and riza meet again there is different. in manga she saves roy and hughes from a surprise attack, and only realizes it's roy when she sees him through the scope. then hughes tells roy that they brought a talented sniper from the academy and goes after her to thank her for saving them. in anime riza suddenly shows up to roy when he was talking to hughes and like... not necessarily a bad thing i guess but...... yeah.... also this whole conversation is cut off if i remember right.. among a lot of other things LOL i hate how ishval arc is played down in BH
riza being funny and cute not being included again
this scene when they reach 3rd lab again in promised day and roy jokes about wanting to see her honest tears again and riza replies saying water makes him useless BUT in manga she's all cute and blushy while in anime they make her be all # girlbaws about it because that's all brotherhood riza is about lmao they took away her moeness...crime
in manga, after roy gives up killing envy upon realizing it would lead to riza shooting him then killing herself, it shows him lowering her gun without the glove he previously had on. symbolizing that he lowered his weapon before he could lower hers. in anime he still has his gloves on

roy visits madame christmas' bar looking down and she asks him why doesn't he and elizabeth go someplace fun... we all know who elizabeth is right... and he says miserably that another man took elizabeth away from him(referring to riza being kept hostage by bradley) and at that the other girl asks if that means she has a chance with him now. everyone knows that roy is so wifepilled he won't look any other way if riza is in the picture lmao also how embarrassing it is that even your mom knows you're fucking your subordinate
i'm convinced somebody at BH staff hated riza's ass because of how often riza and royai scenes are changed or ignored... i know it's common for anime adaptations to cut off moments from manga but for an anime that whole premise is to be The Better Adaptation, doing it so often makes it bad to me. if you repeatedly exclude scenes that tell more about the characters because they're "not relevant to the plot", eventually there will be no actual personality left, only characters that are plot props
THERE'S A LOT MORE i wanted to include but this is already long enough and i got tired LMFAO a lot of things(most not included) are non issues because are mostly about riza being a bit silly, or showing more expression than she does in anime in a scene that otherwise doesn't change anything. but they still annoy me because by repeatedly excluding and changing these moments add to the view people have of her being nagging and stoic, at an attempt to make her a cool flawless Good Woman Character. what for.

I love this RoyAi art. Not because it looks amazing: The artstyle, the colors, poses(even when Riza's right arm looks weird lol), it is beautiful. But because of the meaning, which I don't know if it was intended or accidental.
The first time I've seen it I was like: „wouldn't they kill themselves if they decides to shoot the other?“, and yeah that's true. And that's what makes it beautiful. Both exist in an unhealthy dependency. They can't live without the other. Their hearts will always beat for each other. Though, they wouldn't hesitate to kill each other if one gives into their madness(example: the iconic 'don't go where I can't follow' scene ; in the game prince of dawn, Roy was ready to attack Riza, if she actually was going to kill the prince of Aeurgo.). I think the reason for this dynamic is that, even though they both love each other so much, they're not blinded by that feeling. Both are tactical, rational and have their own moral. Unable to be shaken by anyone. Also I think the guilt is driving them forward. Riza feels guilty for the actions of Roy in Ishval, she was the one that gave him the flame alchemy after all. And Roy? He feels guilty for dragging the woman he wants to see happy into hell.
Roy is an idealist, wanting to change the world. It's his purpose in an otherwise meaningless life. He couldn't be happy with a family with an other woman than Riza, but for this he has to give up the promise between these two. The promise that gives Riza her purpose in an otherwise meaningless life. (Who could guess that I'm a nihilist?)
Also, the series shows us that this promise is the only thing that could stop Roy from madness. From making an second Ishval, when the wrong people have to much power. He's a lapdog of the military after all.
Roy wants to get high up, just not without Riza.
And since they're so depended on each other, they couldn't live with the other dead.
So if Riza would've killed Roy, she would've killed herself, like she said.
And if Riza would've gotten killed by the weird doc, Roy surely would've gone crazy, more than when he executed Envy. No one who could lead him on the right part again. Finding his death maybe by the hands of father? I'm 100% sure that Roy could've burned Bradly, if he was in his rage mode he showed earlier. But I stop going into this maybe-thing.
This dependency isn't something that a real humanbeing should crave. Nevertheless it's my favorite trope, since even though I'm aromantic, I've fallen in love with the idea of love. Only needing that person, I'll never have. That's why Hannigram and RoyAi are my favorite ships. Both are unhealthy, both are destructive, they're beautiful. But only as long as you aren't a part of them.
When your love is killing you, is it a good death?

Aha no problem, I saw it was also about art (I don't know if you write?) so I'm 👀 in case you want to share any !!
Ahhhhhh 1923 is my other pet project with All the Hope. It's a long fic too, Royai, and I've been working on it for more than a year now.
I don't know how familiar you are with FMA 03 and Conqueror of Shamballa, but in those Ed and Al end up being stuck in our world in the year, you guessed it, 1923.
This stems from Ed meeting our world's Hughes there, and I kept wondering where Roy and Riza were...
So it starts with Ed meeting our world's version of Roy Mustang in 1923 Munich, but it's in fact just a frame for me to tell our world's Roy and Riza's (and other characters 😉 ) story, year by year, starting from the beginning. It adapts what happens in Brotherhood, btw, for our world, in a way. No spoilers lol.
I think it would have fitted to have Roy and Riza on the same side as Hughes, btw, but for a couple of reasons, including me being lazy, I've decided they aren't. All three however, even if they don't know each other (Roy and Riza do know each other from early on OF COURSE), have taken part in WW1, which is a big chunk of this fic.
I don't know what excerpt to share... so have the first meeting between Roy and Ed (if you want other parts like either character's childhood or the war or after the war, feel free to ask ! I can gush about this fic for hours and I've already written way too much in this reply haha). Also there's Falman there, so, for you lol.
"Are you going?"
"Wish I could. But it's during my shift, and I need to put food on the table. With the prices rising…" Falman shrugs. "You want to go?"
"Of course! You think there's a fee? I'm on my last marks, too."
"You could try to sneak in."
"My, a librarian encouraging a kid to sneak into a science conference. That's the kind of people I like."
Edward stills and straightens at the voice that rises behind him.
"Whatcha got, here, young criminal?"
The man's German is a little stilted, spoken as a foreign language most likely, but not enough to make his speech pattern unrecognizable.
A gloved hand – the glove is brown – reaches past Ed's shoulder to take the first book on the pile.
Ed turns around at once, to see Roy fucking Mustang open the book at random, squint, and put the book upside down on the counter so he can reach into a pocket inside his suit jacket. Falman has a desperate whine at the state of the book – there's no salvaging its spine now – but he's too polite to say anything. And Ed himself has too much trouble trying to close his mouth.
Well. Hughes was there. There ought to be a version of the colonel roaming around this world.
But. Still.
Oblivious, Mustang growls while rummaging through his pockets, taking out his gloves, setting his hat and his jacket on the counter, and laying an ebony cane with a silver handle against it.
Edward can't stop the words that cross his lips.
"Urgh, of course you would."
"Uh? Ah!" Mustang frowns as he pushes a pair of reading glasses on his nose, then takes the book again. “Ah, I knew it. Inorganic chemistry, uh?”
“Yeah, and what about it?” Edward retorts, thinking the colonel – or whatever he is in this world – looks even more insufferable with these tiny glasses on. He doesn’t know if he wants to slap him or hug him, and the fact that he’s thinking about this last option makes him furious.

I am a Drama and Education student currently. Sooo… I guess I like theater. Hahaha. I’ve been doing a lot of stage management, directing, and acting lately.
As far as *visual* art goes it’s something I’ve dabbled in here and there but I wouldn’t say I actually started trying until like 2 weeks ago! 🤯 It all started when…
I began re-obsessing over Royai(fma) this summer and started chatting with some people about one of my FAVORITE fics, “A Fuhrer’s Play” (please read. It’s so so good). We’ve been coming up with the funniest, craziest fan theories for the fic and I thought, “Hey I want to turn these crazy ideas into fan art/comics!” Here is my first (and only) comic attempt 2 weeks ago:
ANNNNND that’s when I realized I there was no way in hell I was gonna just snap my fingers and be able to poop out a comic. I needed to start off a little slower… draw everybody once, then start putting them together, and (hopefully) soon put them into funny little comics. Or dark comics. We shall see.
Currently, I have two MOs: laughing like a lunatic, or sipping on angst tea and loving every second of it. So I guess my art “style” so far has been inspired by one of those two moods. 🤷♀️

I watched this anime and fell in love with it and their chaotic but adorable and sweet relationship SO HARD. And the relationship is right there in canon which is SO NICE to see in anime where it's just another small portion of their lives. The way they are both obsessed with each other too 😍

Both canon. Royai is canon, argue with the wall! Lol I guess Royai is like half canon, but whatever. Explicit confirmation is not needed to know those 2 are married. Ed and Winry are the peak childhood friends to lovers arc in the most adorable. Plus she is a badass mechanic. HIS badass mechanic. The way their love grew organically is adorable and so sweet. They take such good care of each other. And Royai are the epitome of a married couple. They also are both so equally badass and have such infinite and complete trust in each other?? It's AMAZING. The way they literally trust each other with their lives and their mental well being. The way Roy literally trusts her to be his eyes when needed also? He literally calls her his queen. I love them so much

CANON yet they did us dirty with the bury your gays trope. But like the "I'm only soft for you" bullshit they had going on. UGH I ate it up so hard. Lol they are both such extreme badasses, morally Grey anti heroes. OF COURSE THEIR RELATIONSHIP WAS INTENSELY PERFECT TOO! I love the bellarke ship with the best of them too, but out of all Clarke's relationships, the best and my favorite will always be with Lexa. She loved her SO MUCH and the way Lexa always protected her 😭

Not canon, I know, but I'm obsessed with the ship anyway because it SHOULDVE BEEN CANON. I could write whole essays over how painfully gay and queer coded these 2 are. Canonically soulmates and everything. Lol their characters and their relationship was the most flushed out in the show and therefore, them being shipped together just makes sense. Especially with how homoromantic and angsty half the shit they did was.

Not canon, but the author said it would've been in a different timeline and that even in the current on, Adolin and Shallan (the Canon couple) probably would've been willing to go for it. Lol you can't convince me otherwise thay they aren't both lowkey in love with Kaladin. They invite him to be their bodygaurd on all their dates for a reason! 😂
HuaLian (TGCF, Donghua)
I've read these books for the first time recently and now these 2 live rent free. Like honestly, the OBSESSION with each other. The adorableness. The respectfulness of boundaries. The ICONIC one liners dropped. The do anything cross any line be wherever you need devotion. The way one of them is the sweetest human alive and the other embodies the "I hate everyone but you" trope. Lol the awkwardness of the positions they find themselves in. The jealousy of each other that they make up themselves. Lol the slow burn is painful!! It's been literally 800 years just tell each other you love each other and get married!!!!

There is a good mix of canon and non canon ships here lol what can I say, I'm easy to please! But I will say that it speaks to my Sapphic soul in the best way that the wlw ships are CANON! Thank you ATLA universe for that blessing. And they are canon in the most amazing of ways. Korrasami will always be my favorite. The bi icons those girls are and they way they are EVERYTHING and are so freaking sweet and cute and BADASS.

Loves of my life, this relationship is grumpy x sunshine trope personified. They are so sweet, so cute, so perfect for each other it hurts. I clearly have a dynamic I love here. Lol because they are also both insanely badass. Plus the ghost king who controls death and his medic doctor boyfriend? Yes please. Literally made for each other and the way they help each other heal and be happy 🥺

The Iron Triangle, aka Yizhi, Shimin, and Zetian (Iron Widow, Book)
Love triangles done correctly and ended perfectly, aka bisexually. Lol to quote the author, "Iron Widow is just 400 pages of Zetian and Shimin suffering nonstop while Yizhi has the most bisexual time of his life." Lmfao. They are the morally Grey anti heros and lowkey villains in love badass scifi/fantasy cast of characters who ALL fall in love with each other and are only stronger for it. And it's a true triangle, where all 3 are in love and feel more complete for it. There is no choosing.

Darrow & Virigina, and Sevro & Victra (Red Rising, Book)
Unhinged characters falling in love. What could be better. They both match energies so well, bring out the best in each other and fight so hard for each other or sometimes fight each other too. These books are so good, but so brutal. Lol the relationships follow suit. But I freaking LOVE them. I cried so much reading it all and yet I'm obsessed and have been since I first read them. It'll probably never stop.

Ao3 I bullied myself into figuring this site out lmaoo. Took some trial (learned through an email that RPF means real person fiction. I WAS NOT WRITING REAL PERSON FICTION SO WHOOPS. nearly half my stuff was taken down LOL.)
Most popular multi chapter fic: Soul of a ghost town this was the biggest thing I ever wrote—in terms of character, plot, and word count—and honestly, it gave me the confidence to believe I could write. Word counts used to haunt me. All it used to.
Favourite story you’ve written so far: Oh that’s hard.
Stories in limbo was my first attempt at multiple perspectives. A gen fic mostly but I love the motifs and flow.
Previously mentioned SoaGT^^ was my pride and joy for also previously mentioned reasons. I watched that story like a hawk, just waiting for feedback.
Panem sumebant: The ending. It came to me months after its original completion, and now, it’s so much better with the last chapter.
Idk if I’m allowed to pick more than one, but I’m proud of each of these for different reasons so-
So many times when I’m writing it starts so small… then grows and grows and doesn’t stop. SoaGT was like this—a five times this, one time that.
I have a 50k everthorne fic on the go rn that started out as a 500 word prompt. Wtf send help.
Fic you were nervous to post: My very first one, panem sumebant. The feedback I got from about three users is probably why I’m still writing. Thank you.
How do you choose your titles: often, i struggle so much with this. If I can’t find anything, look for metaphors or phrases/quotes/moments that really stick. A lyric. Maybe a language translation. I’ve never had a title drag me in. It’s almost always a struggle, and sometimes, much later, I hate said title 😭 but that’s okay. Helps me learn.
Do you outline: HA.
Quite amazing how organized I am. (These are digestible ones. The bigger they get the worse.)
Complete: often, I finish things before I post the. I’ve been that way from the start. All my Bellarke is complete (two are discontinued) All my Everthorne is complete… until suddenly I decide to add another chapter XD. Lonely Crowds, my Kanej, has the last chapter on the go but it will be finished. Idk my track record is pretty good I think.
Do you accept prompts: I’ve never been prompted, but lots I’ve made comes from discussion or picking my own prompts so I guess so.
Upcoming story you’re most excited to write: my OG work. Excited to finish lonely crowds, and I’m trying to finish these edits on everthorne but it’s kicking my ass.
stories you’re most excited to read: …everthorne. Young Royai😍 … Makorra… and the grishaverse fandom is just revving the engines so I’m really excited to watch this fandom grow. I’ve always been the person to walk into fandom after the explosions are simmering and the ship wars have devastated the masses so this will be fun.

It's an AU where Ladybug and Chat Noir are actually enemies but then Chat Noir accidentally befriends Marinette and then drama etc etc etc.
rain - G: first zelink fic babey! set Pre-Calamity and basically link and zelda get stuck in a cave because of the rain and there's just a lot of quiet pining, etc etc.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Oikawa - T: HAHAHA this was a crack fic inspired by my roommate but then i forgot it was supposed to be a crack fic while writing it and there are accidentally real emotions alkjdfalksdf but anyway it was very fun to write lmao. it was based off this meme and basically it's an AU where Oikawa is Spider-Man and Iwaizumi doesn't know but they still like hang out and stuff. It's a lot of fun, or at least I think it is, haha.
stolen moments - T: first royai fic!!! just a series of "stolen moments" (mic drop) where roy and riza like cant be together but yknow, they try. lots of pining. etc
a secret weapon of sorts - T: 5+1 edwin fic inspired by the Simple People OVA where instead of ed giving winry earrings to get out of trouble, he gives her kisses.
Do you reply to comments, why or why not? Yes! I try really hard to!!! Sometimes I get overwhelmed and I don't respond to comments for a while, but I absolutely do my best to when I remember because I feel like it's my way of saying "thank you" for them reading my fics in the first place, haha.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending? Uhhhhh, sleepless I guess? But it's more open-ended/not explicitly positive more than anything, though even then I feel like I've got a hint of hope in there. alkjdfhalsdk idk man I just, I can't write *pure* angst, there's gotta be some light, and thus I could never end anything angstily

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? No no no no no no no no. I am telling you, I physically cannot write smut. I don't think I actually have the capacity. Absolute fucking kudos to every single smut writer out there bc it truly is an art form capturing that intimacy and emotion and etc, but I literally get flustered from writing mildly detailed kiss scenes. If I ever wrote smut, I would burst into flames on the spot.
Actually lies, I technically wrote smut once, but it was at the request of my roommates and they wanted me to write a crack smut fic of Y/N x our uni's mascot and I wrote that thing in like 3 hours with so many silly memes to keep myself sane (not like other girls, tongues battled for dominance, etc), did not edit it, and because it was so, like, not serious, I was actually able to get through it. But even then, when I wrote "thrusting" I literally had to put my laptop down for 20 minutes.

I don't really like thinking about "strengths" in my writing bc who am I to say? akjdslakfjdf idk, instead, I'm just gonna say some things I like/try to do in my writing, which are: conversational prose/having a lot of voice in the narration, I try to add humor wherever I can, and recently I've gotten better and metaphors and describing things bc I picked up writing poetry a year ago!
What are your writing weaknesses? hmmm, a thing I dislike about my writing/the writing process is that I'm slow to publish things and slow to finish things because I'm such a messy first drafter and I also take forever to edit. I would like to uhhhhh get things out faster. Also I tend to repeat myself a lot bc I forget the details of things I write sometimes lmao.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? Hmmm, I dunno, I guess I don't have any strong thoughts? The only other language I know is Mandarin but even then, I suck ass at that, so I'll prolly never write dialogue in another language simply bc I like to try to portray things semi-realistically and I don't think I have a good enough grasp on any other language the same way I do in English to produce authentic enough dialogue.
What was the first fandom you wrote for? Fablehaven I guess? But Idk I was in fourth grade an didn't even know what fandom was yet. Rise of the Guardians, maybe?
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
AHHHH idk??? maybe hold your hand out in the dark because i really experimented with my writing on that one and im sort of proud of the result, just like the fact that i wanted to try something new and it turned out alright. that or Sunset Wheeling which is an iwaoi fic where they just skate, and like it's prolly one of the most self-indulgent things i've ever written because it's silly and they just. skate. but aljdfalsjd idk i loved it and i churned it out in 6 days and it was a lot of fun lol

Wow.
People say Tumblr is dying, but to be honest, I’ve never gained so many new followers in a short period of time.
And it’s not just because of Fire Emblem. My Pandora Hearts art is still getting some attention and for some reason, Tumblr folks rediscovered and started reblogging one of my 10 years old Royai sketches too, lol!
Honestly, I’m a little baffled, but in a good way.

fic writer interview
thank you so much for tagging me, @lantur and @bringingglory (I remembered you tagged me a few weeks ago and I only got to do it now hahah)
Name: hannah, meridianheroine on AO3 and Fanfiction
Fandoms: actively writing for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood / FMA Manga. I’ve also written for Pokemon and Vocaloid back in 2012-2014 but please don’t search for it LOL
I only got back to writing last July 2020, so I don’t have much fics to compare yet
(Most popular) oneshot: none so far, but I have a wip entitled “epiphany”, a royai scar-burning oneshot
two-shot: whiskey on ice, amber-brown eyes. Roy grieves for Hughes and Riza joins him in his drinking session, ongoing, also building it to be smut too
(Most popular) multichapter: Roy and Riza Observation Journal, ongoing, a prequel for “meridian”
Actual worst part of writing: editing! I’m so shy to ask for beta, so I usually take intervals to edit my own writing (you know what they say, you are your worst critic!). Then there’s also planning he he it takes so long, but it still changes over time. As tedious they may get sometimes, I still love these two processes of writing, it makes me more satisfied with my work.
How you choose your titles: a word or phrase that encapsulates the entire plot!
Do you outline: Yes! Maybe I got used to studying too much 😆 Inspiration strikes at the most random of times (in class, in the shower, while taking care of my niece) and so I have to write it down asap before I forget! Sometimes I couldn’t write down everything my brain dictates. But I always leave some room for spontaneity. I usually outline the chapters, writing the main events that need to happen. Kind of like having a starting and finish line, but the route to reach “the end” is up to me while I write. I guess that’s one reason why people say my writing is fluid (because it literally just flows out of me!)
Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: I’m alright with any kind of idea that pops into my head! But if I sort them out, I think it would be portraying Roy as a real womanizer. yanumii told me that Roy was too squeaky clean in FMA:B compared to the manga, but too much of an asshole in FMA 2003. I’m tempted to add this trait to him,,,,,, or something just like it. It could be because he has always been impulsive? hmmmm this has always been at the far corners of my mind.
Callouts @ Me: Chill out dude. You don’t have to do things and finish things all at once. Your hobbies aren’t school, they don’t demand an inconsiderate deadline! Trust in the process because art takes time. As Professor Oak says, “There is a time for everything. But not now.”
Best writing traits: Characterization, descriptions, and unique plot, according to what most of my readers praise. But they all boil down to characterization haha, because I base every element of a story in the character’s personality and tendencies. I always analyze everything I read or watch (whether I like it or not LOL) and I find parallelisms between characters. Then I think, “What happens if they meet? How would they react? What would they say?”. I love exploring the characters and maximize what they can do, inspired by Hiromu Arakawa and Leigh Bardugo.
Spicy Tangential Opinion: Reviews can either make or break a story. It could enhance a story when a reader helps the writer see the big picture, because they tend to obsess with details and forget to take a step back and check if it all adds up. Although readers don’t always notice the connections writers make, they can always tell if writers rushed the plot or create inconsistent characterization. But the sad thing is, writers sometimes do it to address what the readers want. A lot of writers give in to review pressure, which drastically changes what they have planned for their story. I think it’s best to remember that the story belongs to the writer, and that we can’t please anyone, or that life doesn’t always please us. But all in all, I think it’s most important to know what you want and choose reviews that will enhance you, not break you down.

I.. honestly wrote a lot this 2020. No kidding. Quarantine productivity was real, but so is residency languishing by the wayside while everyone was busy surviving and adjusting. I highly doubt 2021 will be the same, but I’ll always cherish 2020 just because of the writing and nothing else.

- The denouement to the Caraway family drama we all deserve. I love how Rinoa is presented in this fic. She’s a normal person who makes mistakes and learns her lessons. So is Fury. Burned bridges don’t always have to stay down, and this fic illustrates that wonderfully.

- We can’t all have happy endings. This fic also illustrates that very well. While I, a Squinoa fan, personally ascribe to the happy ending Squall and Rinoa must have had after the events of FF8, this fic is so compelling and grounded and reflective and I totally buy this.

- Bungou Stray Dogs. Oda. Pre-canon.
- Yes, yes, YES. One of the best stories I’ve ever read this year, ever. (And I mean stories, not fanfics.) Great character study about a man named Oda and a day in his life and a page (or three) out of his book of relationships. The love poured into this is simply overflowing and precious. I’ve been following Joey since this fic was being written, and I’m so proud of him.

- Dai Gyakuten Saiban. Asougi, Ryuunosuke. Fullmetal Alchemist AU.
- This fic also! Oh, My Heart. The cynicism of a state alchemist and the optimism of a foreign doctor. It perfectly hits the spot for everything FMA, and we all know that SQQ’s Asouryuu fics are always to die for. It’s the ultimate combo.
The whole Promptober Leo/Will/Despair series by @eternal-aegis
- Kekkai Sensen. Various themes, many of which are dark/mature.
- I’ve said this with Waiting for Godot, and I’ll say it again: Aegis knows her stuff. This is her exploring further in that direction, and you can feel the improvement with every fic in the series. I really love how adventurous these stories are, and how much depth you can go with every one. Her characterization is layered and exquisite, and the underlying lore is well-thought-out.

- Final Fantasy VIII. Rinoa, Squall. Reverse/Fateswap AU.
- A very well-written reverse AU! The circumstances of Squall and Rinoa in this ‘verse fit so well and are so well thought out. I love this AU so much, you don’t even know. It also fills my nostalgic shipper’s heart with much joy at seeing quality content in this Year of our Lord 2020.

- Fullmetal Alchemist. Roy, Riza. Canon-compliant + post-canon.
- Holiday feels, snapshots through time, and all over showing Roy and Riza’s budding relationship over the years. And it does remind me of a lot of the SKK fics I’ve written (thematic-wise). 🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
Oh, my. Okay let's try this, looking at all my fics and original stuff.
Themes : overall I write a lot of angst - with or without happy ending (I'd say 90% with happy ending but uh, I have written Ripper Street fics and uh. Misery all over, thanks), romance (especially now that I fell into Royai but really there's almost always a couple at the center of what I write so), family - either blood or found and dysfunctional or not (team Mustang is found family, fight me). Now for the funny part : death, loss and grief, war (Royai of course brings that and there's a lot of war stuff coming, but I do have war AUs already lying around. And a couple of soldiers with PTSD in Ripper Street stuff, I'm sorry Drake), aaaand I don't know if I'm very gore or not but I tend to like gory stuff so, you're warned.
Feels : look at this perfectly sane character. Now they have anxiety. (Wonder why 🙃). Lots of others but yeah I tend to get rid of my own anxiety this way. (RIZA. RIZA I AM SORRY don't worry Roy gets some too).
Scenes : I'm a sucker for dialogue, so expect lots and lots of dialogue scenes (actual funny ones! I do make humor sometimes!). Sometimes I feel bad because I feel most of my fics are just talking heads but I'm having fun so I guess that's just the point of it, you know.

Ow, though question. I don't know. Let's say right now I'm knee deep into one fic that is already over 32K and is not even reaching its (not very planned) middle so I guess it counts as a wild ride?

What's your favorite character in 2? Sylvia. She's just like "yeah you're gonna help me or else" when she shows up, and then gets better from there.
Who is your least favorite character in 1? Well it depends if we are going off of a love to hate thing here or not. Cuz Elias js a bastard and I hate him so much.
What is your favorite episode of 4? Okay, spoilers for FMA 2003 and Brotherhood here: I liked the Fifth Labratory in 2003 a lot, and a lot of it is because I watched FMAB. This is where the tones start diverging, and a character previously thought dead is reveled to be alive. It was a genuine shock to me, and was super effective. I really liked that episode as a result, and having watched brotherhood before made the reveal even creepier.
What is your favorite season of 5? Uhhh.. season 1 I guess lol
Who is your fav couple in 3? Royai obviously has my heart, but an underrated couple are Al and Mei. Its obviously a juvenile crush, but I love their incredibly flustered dynamic. They are babies. Its great. (Also Lan Fan and Ling are a great couple, and a foil to Royai)
Who's your favorite couple in 2? Small cast, so there aren't a lot here, but I like Alice and Keshia! I like them resolving their shit! I like that Keshia forgives Alice, not for Alice's sake, but for hers! I like that they get a happy ending! There's a lot here.
What's your favorite episode of 1? Everything leading up to getting Daisy out of the coffin. The rib thing. I also like Jude Perry getting interviewed (but for one line in particular). The second episode of the show is also pretty great
What is your fav episode of 5? Nelson v Murdock. Too many feelings, cannot pick up show again.
What is your fav season of 2? 3. Its a good ending, and season 3 also has Alice! And having her and Keshia work together is great!
How long have you watched 1? Since December of last year.
How did you become interested in 3? Heard good things about FMAB. And it was free on Crunchyroll. And quarintine.
Who is your fav actor in 4? (I watched it dubbed, not subbed, so:) 2003's Lust had the best nuance and complexity. I liked that.
Which do you prefer, 1, 2, or 5? 2. It builds the horror elements better than TMA, and my stomach is a bit squeamish with Daredevil.
What shows have you seen more episodes of, 1 or 3? I have rewatched FMAB with so many people, I think they're neck and neck? Its unclear.
If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be? Heck I don't like this since its a crapsack world. Winry and Paninya seem to avoid a lot of it, I'd be them
Would a crossover between 3 and 4 work? Twin day. Its twin day. (Except wait, 2003 is connected to our world, so, triplet day? It's triplet day?) This actually hurts my head, so thanks for that.
Pick two characters in 1 who make an unlikely but strangely okay couple? *swings a bat at a hornets nest* What the Girlfriends? They were not set up well at all.
Overall, which show has a better storyline, 3 or 5? 3. Sorry but I can watch the first episode of FMAB after watching the show and have everything recontextualized. Daredevil could never.
Which one has better theme music, 2 or 4? 4, I guess? By default?

2019 Creative Review
I was tagged by @gayronan to do a yearly review. Thank you! <3 (And I was happy to see you were working on some original stuff as well!)
I don’t expect people to read all of this so scroll down three paragraphs to just read the stuff I’ve done this year. lol
So I sat on this for a few days, partly because I’ve been busy, partly because my main laptop was off being repaired for a week and a half, but mainly because I actually didn’t do much last year. In fact, after my best friend passed away in April of 2018, I’ve been through so much personal shit that my writing and creativity has been stunted.
I didn’t want to turn this into a sob story, or make excuses as to why I didn’t write much, but my beloved dog Cooper was diagnosed with lymphoma right after my best friend died. He went through chemo for a year and he finally lost that battle in May 2019. He had been with me for thirteen years. Life was not the same. I wasn’t living. I was existing. I guess I didn’t even realize how bad I was, but my parents and husband saw it and my parents kept urging me to look for a new dog. I ended up agreeing, if only to appease them, but fell in love with two Border Heeler brothers, which is what Cooper was half of. I adopted them from a rescue in early July. They needed a family, I needed companionship. Now that they’re seven months old, I know it was the right decision. A good decision. Up until a month or so ago? I forgot how difficult caring for a puppy was and I got myself two. Needless to say I have had zero time for anything other than chasing them around trying to get them to stop chewing on everything, cleaning up after them, training them, caring for them, and just, you know, everything you go through with six week old puppies times two.
On top of that, my mother had spine surgery in April and my dad had ankle fusion surgery in October and caring for them along with the pups was a full time ordeal that left me exhausted. By the time I had any free time, I was too tired and would just go to bed.
So yeah, excuses excuses, but here are some things I actually did last year.
I wrote a Royai fic in an attempt to get back into writing and the fandom. Didn’t work out so well. lol
I’ve also gotten a couple of paragraphs written for the next chapter of my original novel Grim Aria, but I’ve been working on said chapter since 2018 so take that as you will lol. You can read the prologue and first couple of rough chapters on AO3 and I do plan to get back to publishing a chapter a month soon so if you support me on Patreon you’ll get to read the edited first draft before it gets finalized in book form, along with other stuff like access to the Grim Aria Discord.
I drew @magewardensurana‘s FMA OC too, but I can’t find it to post it. lol

“One of the villains of Paris,” he responded flatly.
Odd. Villains didn’t usually admit they were villains.
uhhh, this is technically 9 sentences but i wanted to provide a teensy bit more context, and also i tend to use shorter sentences when im writing dialogue. this is from this miraculous ladybug fic that i have been working on FOREVER now. will i update again before the end of the year? god i fuckin hope so lol
