Theory: Papyrus's battle body
So, everyone should know about 'Papyrus's battle body', it's something I've been pointing aggressively at for years to point out that his brother is a liar-
Contradicting what he says, during the hang out, Papyrus specifies that he wears his special clothes underneath his 'REGULAR CLOTHES'.
Then the interview came out and it turns out I was wrong.. Papyrus's battle body is indeed....
...
....HANG ON A SECOND.
What the interview confirms is that Papyrus does indeed have a battle body, but what's also been confirmed is that it's not his clothes. But there's also an important question to factor in: Does what his brother say, have any merit? Was this 'battle body' made a few weeks ago for a party?
I've mentioned this before but it's very important for this theory, there's a post on the Undertale tumblr that relates to this:
"not everyone is as tough as my brother." - immediately starts talking about Shyren for some reason. "they say those without blame should cast the first stone." (Is this implying something happened to Papyrus that someone could be blamed for?)
Anyway, Shyren's form in battle is made of 2 different monsters, the body is 'Shyren's agent'.
Papyrus loses his head when killed, and his body dusts, then his head. They both have different dust patterns.

If I can make an assumption from the Undertale changelog, dust patterns are changed for each individual monster. There was some extensive research done before I found this, including checking dust pattern related to monster size, HP, EXP, G, and none of them seemed to line up.. Was this patch note intentional for these connections to be made?

What I'm saying is that Papyrus's entire body was made, and he didn't always look how we see him in the game. But this leads to one of the biggest mysteries of Papyrus, what or who is he?
There's not a character that's canonically been shattered to pieces that speaks just like he does, there is never any implication he can read wingdings either so ignore that
He can walk/run through the air, he acknowledges things that implies he knows he's in a game, and how games themselves function. He's implied the ability to use a save file, he can use blasters, his bedroom is silent. It's implied he's been inside the true lab, or at least Alphys's lab. He's implied that he can see from your perspective (NOT FRISK'S, YOURS.), the annoying dog annoys him the most, he can change game UI and take over the whole screen.
Who else has done that?

Gotta say, I love how you made so many posts criticizing people who see Chara as an abuser, yet in your own AU you depict them as a cruel, vindictive bully who tries to turn Asriel's family against her, drives her to suicide, then guilt-trips her into getting back together with them. Yet Asriel is somehow the real abuser because she's mad at them for ruining her life. I am by no means a Chara hater, but that seems a little inconsistent.

okay, jokey-positive aside. i shouldn't respond to bad-faith criticism like this because it's not worth my time as it's unlikely you'll actually hear me out in response. I've been online long enough to know you don't feed the trolls.
but, I'm an optimist at heart and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're actually upset with me and do want to have a civil conversation and are not just here to spew hate and drag me down.
Ask Fallen Royalty, the tumblr version wasn't handled the best as it was my first attempt at really trying to write this subject matter and I felt I didn't tackle it as well as I could have. that's something I plan on fixing with the rewrite.
that said, I have never called either of the siblings abusers.
they're flawed, mentally unwell and traumatized young adults/teens who are in no way equipped to handle the situation they were put in.
they both did awful things. Asriel packaged their trauma in a sanitized way for profit and sympathy points believing it'd benefit Monsterkind. they did so without asking Chara for permission. Then later, at Christmas, Asriel abandoned their family to go solo ruling. That's shitty! That's objectively really shitty but it's a very understandable reaction.
Asriel is taught that money is what moves the world and they believe they're soulless and a faker. That if anyone were to know their secret they'd hate them. so prevent that hurt, they cut everyone else out.
That's completely why Chara goes from "oh man I miss Asriel I wish I was good enough to have them beside me again ):" to 180 "Actually screw them for leaving me i hate them for this. i don't deserve to wallow in pain waiting for someone who can't even bother to text me back" them cutting of asriel is an understandable reaction for anyone, let alone a teenager! could they have been more gentle? yeah. could they have tried to fix things? yeah! but they're not a villain for not having the emotional maturity or foresight to handle a complex situation like that. they're like, literally 15/16 at this point of the story
chara also wasn't trying to drive people away from asriel? i really don't know what you're referring to with this aside from Chara deciding to tell the (at the time they believed) truth that Asriel is Flowey. At that point, Chara literally thought Asriel was replaced by Flowey. That they were two different people. That's not to isolate them- its to be honest with the family with this huge news. Toriel is shown not to care that her children are flowers, it would have never mattered to her as we see immediately that Chara is a flower and Toriel doesn't care.
chara also didn't drive Asriel to suicide. that's a blatant misread of the text. It's not that Asriel decided to die right after Chara decided to cut them off. and it's NOT like chara handed them a loaded gun or told them to do anything. all they did was say "don't lie to our family and don't talk to me, i don't want to be friends with you."
Asriel didn't decide to die until they felt their weak support system was breaking down. Yun wanted to be with Mew Mew, the Band broke up (Shyren, Napstablook and most recently Mew Mew quit), they made a big stupid movie that they hate (the epitome of their fake narrative on the silver screen), and because they ditched the premiere to check on chara (who was missing) their agents are pissed off.
Mew Mew then talks about how troubled Flowey/Asriel is and how being a secret flower hurt their social life. (The relationship with Flora being a strong example) like, Flowey always sabotages or loses those they care about because everyone else has their own life and they don't open themselves to create connections that last because they're running away. it's the culmination of everything going wrong that drives them to that point.
plus, it's hammered home later in Flowey's introspection that they feel horribly guilty for their actions as Flowey. parading as their perfect King when they secretly killed a majority of mosnterkind and did who knows what else is like. majorly fucked up.
i'm unsure if you forgot or chose to ignore the larger narrative or what's happened, but these things are in the story. they're both messed up individuals who have a hard time communicating their feelings -Chara literally brings up having emotional dysregulation disorder and CPTSD in the epilogue. Asriel's imposter syndrome and-gestures to Flowey) is also a clear indication that they've got some fundamental mental health issues that prevent them from understanding themselves and others.
it's a story about broken people who lash out against each other but ultimately come together in love.
they care so so deeply for each other! they're family. messing up (especially as children, teenagers etc) doesn't mean you shouldn't be written off as disposable. you're ALL capable of fucking up severely but you have the chance to grow and better yourself. you owe it to those who are willing to give that chance to do better. that's what the story has always been about.
I will admit that I plan on working on the pacing and giving chara more sweet moments so it doesn't come across as harsh -I don't want either sibling to be seen as a "villain" or """""abusive"""" as you call them. Except, yeah, Asriel is meant to be seen as an antagonist for a brief while, but that's set up Chara to come to that realization just the same as the audience should.
i hope this helped you understand what i was going for. if you wanna talk further I don't mind, but please talk to me as a real person. we're on the same page that abuse is bad. that people shouldn't treat each other so horribly. i don't excuse either of the character's interactions but i want to show empathy and understanding and that they can grow past that. i sincerely hope we can come to a shared perspective. if you wanna, i'd love to talk about i can make this message more clear, i'd love some proper criticism! i hope you have a lovely day and that you please be more considerate to how you to talk to others as I could have very easily read this anon hate/trolling.

New interesting theory/au: Gaster has no relation to the skelebros and is actually Undyne’s dad; he fostered a secret love of science in her and was an actually cool guy who was a bit overambitious/reckless in his experiments and so when he was wiped, Undyne lost her memories of him, but still retained an interest in science that she hides and it led her to be more drawn to Alphys because of it
Thats cute actually! Reminds me of the tumblr post made by tobias himself that implied Shyren (or at least her agent) is related to Gaster somehow. Maybe the three (four??) Of them are all related! They're all fish after all.

New weird headcanon to inflict on the general public- What if the reason the part of Shyra you see in Lemon Bread is the part that's the "agent" of her sister Shyren is because the little fish part and the body part merge into one as part of the anglerfish monster life cycle? Shyra was older and had finished merging by the time she "died" while Shyren hasnt even started yet.

An Addison with the name of “Anancy” would be in the role of Ralsei
Clover would be in the role of Lancer
The Holiday family would be replaced by the Waterfall monsters, to be more specific Aaron would be in the role of Noelle, Shyren would be in the role of Rudy, Shyra would be in role of December (that is how I like to call Dess) and Shyren's agent would be in the role of Noelle's mom.
And Woshua would be in the role of Berdly lol

Frisk Month ‘22 Day 4 - Waterfall
* Smells like music.
“I could be a pop star if I wanted,” thinks Frisk as they hum a little tune and Shyren improvises a melody on top of it. She’s looking a lot more confident now. Her jelly-like hair isn’t covering her eyes, and she floats close to Frisk instead of directly above her agent. Frisk dodges her musical bullets with a smile and finishes their tune. The crowd goes wild, throwing roses and socks and toilet paper at the stage.
You are a pop star already.
After today, you’ll have to break up the band.
Then Shyren will begin her solo career, and you will write your memoirs.
“And you can ghostwrite them,” Frisk thinks, bowing and curtseying for the crowd. “Get it? Ghost-write?” They spot a mob of monsters surrounding Sans, who can’t seem to sell toilet paper tickets fast enough to satisfy everyone.
Very funny.
I am not a ghost.
“Oh, sorry,” thinks Frisk. The crowd manages to quiet down as Shyren starts bobbing up and down again. “Thank you, everyone,” says Shyren to the crowd. “This has been a wonderful farewell concert for my singing partner and me. I’ll always remember this day, and all the love you’ve given us over the minutes.” She waves to Frisk and to her slug agent, who’s looking a little droopy, but happy. “Before we go, we have one more song for you. Partner, is there anything you’d like to say?”
Frisk steps forward, clears their throat, and poses dramatically. The crowd somehow goes wilder than ever before. Frisk is pretty sure they could crowdsurf, but the not-a-ghost keeps their feet firmly on the stage.
Frisk mentally pokes their friend as they step back and get ready for the final performance. “Can you teach me a song?”
Since when do you not make up your own songs?
“I wanna hear a song from you, though!” Frisk flashes a thumbs up at Shyren, who’s starting to sweat as the crowd murmurs restlessly. “I bet if you think it hard enough, I’ll hum it. Please?”
…
…Fine.
You will regret this.
A slow, simple song blossoms in Frisk’s mind. They start humming.
They don’t know the song, but when Shyren hears it, she freezes, gaping at Frisk. They keep humming. Shyren sings along perfectly, matching Frisk’s notes with her high, clear voice.
A hush falls over the crowd. They listen silently for a moment, and then… join in. Not like in a pop concert, more like in a church service, all somber and serious.
Many years, many tears
We live on despite our fears
Even the angry mob around Sans is singing, and Onionsan is looking a little teary-eyed. Frisk gets a funny feeling in their stomach that doesn’t really belong to them.
Stones instead of stars above
We've lost hopes and dreams and love
The ceiling stones glitter and reflect the water’s ambient light onto the stage and over the crowd. Frisk looks closely at the stones, and not at Shyren or the crowd.
Do not cry, freedom's come
With your death we'll see the sun
Frisk isn’t humming anymore. They can’t get their throat to make any noise. Shyren finishes the song and bows as the crowd applauds. It’s a more restrained applause than before, but somehow just as joyful. Then Frisk and Shyren hug and the audience cheers them off the stage.
You won.
Got 0 EXP and 25 GOLD.
…
Frisk’s mind goes silent. They give their not-a-ghost friend a mental hug. “Thanks for the song,” they think.
…You are welcome.

I made it up, a long time ago.
We… used to play it on the piano.
…it doesn’t have lyrics.
It didn’t have lyrics before.
The crowd is gone, leaving behind a mess of rose petals and soaked toilet paper. Frisk sits by the water and watches lily pads drift by. They think about the song, and the ancient plaques around Waterfall, and Onionsan’s dreams of living in the ocean, and the knight they’d seen watching them by the seagrass, and their friend.
They can almost feel someone’s arms around them.

Oh my god I spent years wondering why the other creature was called an agent.
(Am I the only one who didn't realise this?)
It's never explicitly mentioned in game. It's kinda just like... Shyren's "body" is a separate entity from Shyren herself and the files refer to it as an agent.

Would Shyra show up in the CORE? Or would she just be mentioned?
Oh yeah, Shyra would definitely show up for a CORE encounter, but that would mean the Lemon Bread amalgamate would be missing a person. But then again, you see more of Shyren's agent in Lemon Bread anyway so it doesn't really matter.
But I think it could be cool if Shyra had like, her own encounter where she has a few attacks unique to her, but also not being too different from Shyren and Aaron's CORE fight.
