so following on from this post
more solangelo as parents!
Nico’s job would literally just be doing stuff for Hades. He doesn’t really get payed in the conventional way, but he has access to all Hades’ riches so they live a comfy life.
Will becomes a doctor. I don’t think he went to college or university, mostly because it didn’t appeal to him and the idea of learning something he’d been doing from a very young age felt belittling. Instead, he convinced Chiron to forge him some papers and with a bit of mist manipulation, he got straight into doctor training at a hospital or however that works (foundation program or something?).
They have twins, because I love twins. A girl named Bianca and a boy named Michael-Lee (shut up i think it rolls of the tongue).
ML (i’m not writing the whole name everytime) is trans so he wasn’t always called this, but he wanted a name that was important to his parents and he wanted them to name him so that’s what he ended up with. He loves it, he says it feels like a pop star stage name.
Nico definitely cooks the food, his signature dish is pasta. He makes it from scratch because he says the store packages are disgusting and processed junk.
Will is the one who kisses their injuries and tucks them into bed at night (although Nico obviously says goodnight and love you’s too).
I feel like they both deal with the nightmares but most of the time, it’s Will because Nico is harder to wake up. He sings them lullabies and has actually started to appreciate his voice a lot more because of this. However, Nico can be found sometimes cuddling one or both of the twins close, wiping their tears and even sometimes singing Italian lullabies that he vaguely remembers from his childhood.
I feel like Nico plays rough with them, things like violent pillow fights followed by lots of exhilarated screams and giggles. He’s never too rough though, and he’s never hurt them. He can easily tell when to stop and when it’s time to calm down and take a break.
Nico is the soft touch, he acts like he isn’t but he is. He’ll say snarky things and talk to the twins like they’re adults from a very young age (in a funny way, not a weird way lmao) but he can’t handle seeing them upset or crying. Both of them are very spoiled and any shopping trips with Nico end with them coming back, hands full of toy boxes and faces stretched into beaming smiles.
Will is the more tough parent, but honestly he’s a silly too. He may know how to discipline them when he has to, but he also jokes with them and geeks out over their favourite films and shows with them.
Apollo loves that they have twins, and often compares them to him and Artemis (mostly because Bianca has dark, auburn hair and ML is a blond).
I feel like they live in a white, picket fence area but none of their neighbors like them. They painted the white fence a soft yellow and have a giant pride flag wafting on the front. There’s exotic, brightly coloured plants everywhere and the only reason they live is prayers to Persephone and the fact the goddess herself sometimes visits.
Persephone has basically claimed those kids as her grankids, she loves coming over to play with them and loves that she can without breaking any stupid divine laws.
Hades acts unbothered but he’s been caught smiling softly at the twins or even simply at Nico and Will being disgustingly domestic. His Christmas gifts are always huge and the first thing the twins open.
They tried to take one of those professional family photos when the twins were toddlers; it didn’t go so well. Nico is blinking, Bianca is screaming, Will’s face is basically a blur and ML is growling at the camera but the glint in his eyes says he finds himself hilarious. The photo is hung up above the fireplace.
They join their names which means ML’s name is a mouthful. Michael-Lee Di Angelo-Solace. He probably has a middle name too, although i’m not sure what. Maybe Lester, for the jokes?

i get soft thinking abt the wildcats at pride. ricky sitting as still as possible as gina puts trans and bi flags on his cheeks. maddox and jet spinning in their respective lesbian and trans flags and ashlyn putting on a big rainbow hairband. big red buying himself a snazzy bi jacket and a shirt that has like a dumb gay joke. that's just the hcs i can think of off the top my heads but when it's pride the wildcats go ALL on out
(i mean theyre theatre kids, it's their gay given right)
seblos come matching. carlos had the outfits planned in advance and has given seb a pride flag that he uses as a cape. ej has had lil mlm flags drawn all over his face (courtesy of maddox, ashlyn, val and literally anyone who was free to drawn ANOTHER one 💀). nini has actually GOT a gf when in LA and has brought her along. nini has dressed the colours of the lesbian flag and her gf has a sapphic flag that she keeps waving around!! kourtney had a sign that says “I LOVE MY TRANS BOYFRIEND” also btw 🗣️🗣️

Simple . Very simple . Too simple .
While still on the run, Benjamin came out to Pico ( since ben feared how pico would react to seeing the lack of penis or balls when getting freaky on a friday night yea )
After Softie told Pico, Toughie was PERFECTLY accepting ( like the perfect boyfriend soon to be my husband ) and worked up some money to get Ben a haircut, soon a binder ( AND DEF SOME PRIDE PINS )

Fae, tell me something,
(If you do not have the headspace to read me rant about queer flowers and my annoyance please do not feel the need to reply)
Am I irrational for disliking it when certain flower are used for straight people and couples? I know it sounds ridiculous, but take violets for example!
Violets and their color became a special code used by lesbians and bisexual women. The symbolism of the flower derives from several fragments of poems by Sappho in which she describes a lover wearing garlands or a crown with violets. Violets then go on to be used in activism and as code for centuries.
(Also the violet thing annoys me most because green carnations are used pretty much exclusively for queer men but I dont get to keep violets?????)
Like I KNOW we have no right to just claim them? They are flowers for goodness sake it's not like we created them, and I wouldn't say it about like lavender or pansies which also have queer connections because they are not as historically significant?
I dunno do you think I am being ridiculous?
No I don't think you're over reacting honestly. People kind of have a nasty habit of taking our shit (sapphics.) And no I'm not talking about flannels and iced coffee. And of course I include all trans sapphics, (trans femme, nonbinary or whatever you identify as,) under the sapphic umbrella.
Straight people will co-opt our songs and then say "don't gate keep" or "it's just a song" when it bloody well isn't. They have TONS of romance songs and songs about sex and for some reason the good people of tiktok will take wlw songs specifically and use them to lip sync to or make edits and they'll refuse to mouth the gay parts. My personal favourite is when they use a song that's LITERALLY ABOUT LESBIAN SEX because they wanna dance to it and then not lip synch those parts or cover their mouths like it's something gross or shameful. Which begs the fucking question why did you pick the song in the first place???!!
They just wanna co-opt our shit because they think the girl on girl ✨aesthetic✨ is cool or whatever. But are simultaneously uncomfortable with intimacy between two women, or femme leaning/presenting people.
I woke up and chose violence.
It's not "just a song" because I can literally count the number of songs I've heard about intimacy between sapphics sung by sapphics on one hand.
Also not to mention the new gay pride flag is literally just the lesbian flag with "masculine" colours. It's more then a little insidious considering the ugly history of gay men kicking lesbians out of early gay bars in Vancouver because they didn't want women there. So that prompted the creation of lesbian bars. Only now none of them are left standing in my city. We have a shit ton of fay bars but no more lesbian bars. My guess is gay bars were more popular because straight girls wanted to come party with the gays.
"It's just a song!" "It's just a flag!" "It's just a bar!" "It's just a flower!" No it's fucking not.
I'm sorry this got so aggressive Rua 😂 but yeah I definitely don't think you're overreacting.

T4TMA Day Two - Leitners
Gerry is stuck. Not literally, although he has been literally stuck many, many times in the past. This time it’s more figurative.
It’s still bloody annoying, though.
Gertrude had handed him a Leitner this morning with the very vague instructions that he should destroy it (off institute property, of course, which is precisely why he’s standing right outside the breakroom door), but she hadn’t warned him that it would prove very resistant to any of his usual methods.
So now he’s just … staring at it. Angrily, as though he can stare the bloody thing to death.
Which he can’t, of course. Because he’s not a fully-fledged eye avatar, not an eye avatar at all, tattoos or not.
It’s not really surprising that someone walks in on him in the rather embarrassing position of trying to stare a book to death, but at least it’s not Gertrude. Or anyone from the library, because the last time one of them caught him burning a book he nearly got himself completely banned from the institute. He's sure that they’d even object to him looking at a book like this.
“Hello?”
Oh good. It’s Michael.
There’s nothing wrong with Michael. There’s really nothing wrong with Michael, apart from the fact that Gerry is unfortunately harbouring a very inconvenient crush on them.
And really, how could he not? They’re very cute, very trans, and had once called Gertrude a witch’s broomstick come to life and cursed to only make things messier during one of her infamous reorganisation (deorganisation, really) episodes, and Gerry had nearly proposed on the spot.
So, yeah. If Gerry had a checklist of things he’s into Michael would probably fill every spot, and it’s totally fine that they’ve just walked in on Gerry trying to glare a book to death. Totally fine.
“Hi,” Gerry says, after a very long pause during which the book does not spontaneously burst into flames. “What are you doing out here?
“I just wanted some fresh air,” they say, waving a hand around. “But, um … I can go in, if you’re doing something important?”
“No,” Gerry says, perhaps a little too quickly. “It’s fine. You can help me, if you want?”
“Oh,” they say, their cheeks going a little red. “Okay.”
They dart down the stares and come to stand beside him, eyeing the book on the floor. “What do you need help with?”
“This,” Gerry says, and kicks the book.
“Um,” Michael says.
“It needs destroying,” Gerry explains vaguely. “But it won’t burn and when I tried to stab it it bit me. See?”
He pulls his sleeve up a little to show them the marks on his arm from where the book had rather unexpectedly grown teeth.
“It bit you?” Michael exclaims, and touches the mark, very gently.
“It bit me,” Gerry confirms, pulling his sleeve down quickly. He’s not the sort of man to swoon, but if he were he might have swooned just from Michael's fingers on his arm. “And I’d like to get rid of it without getting too close.”
Michael blinks at him. “Could you shoot it?”
“I guess,” Gerry says. It’s probably a better suggestion than anything he would have come up with, but… “I don’t have a gun, though.”
“Oh, I do,” Michael says, giving him a shy smile. “You could borrow it, if you wanted.”
“You have a gun?” Gerry asks, fighting the urge to get down on one knee right now. Cute, and they own a gun? If he weren’t already in love he would have just fallen.
“Uh huh,” Michael says, nodding quickly. “We could go back to my apartment and pick it up now, if you want? It’s not far, and I’m on my break.”
“Yeah,” Gerry’s mouth says, before his brain can catch up and say something stupid. “That sounds great.”
Michael smiles brightly. “Perfect. Come on, we can take the tube.”
They offer Gerry a hand, covered in brightly-coloured plastic rings, and he takes it, because what else is he supposed to do? Turn them down? No way.
He still doesn’t understand why they have a gun, but he doesn’t bother asking, just shoves the book back into his bag and lets Michael lead him away from the institute and towards the tube station.
Thankfully it’s nearly empty now, in the middle of the day, and Michael pulls him down into a seat next to them.
Gerry’s still feeling a little star-struck, to be honest, because he’s only had like, three full conversations with Michael before, and now they’ve told him they have a gun and invited him back to their house. How is he supposed to work under these conditions?
He’s so busy thinking that he doesn’t realise that they’ve crawled almost into his lap, the majority of their weight resting on his leg, and they’re looking at his pins.
“You have a lot of pins,” they say, when they notice him looking down at them. “I like this one.” They point to one that reads bi-furious. “And this one.” A little trans flag shaped like a ghost.
“You can have that one,” Gerry blurts out. It was like one pound fifty at pride, and seeing Michael smile is worth far more than that.
Their hand stills, and they smile brightly. “Really?”
“Yeah,” Gerry says, fumbling with the pin. “Want me to put it on you?”
“Yes, please,” they say, and he carefully pins it onto their cardigan, just below the they/them pin they wear all the time.
“There,” he says, pulling away a little. “It looks good.”
Michael smiles, tucking a lock of hair behind their ear. “Thank you.”
They’re still very close, practically in Gerry’s lap, and he reaches out, just wanting to touch their hair.
They smile, eyes sparkling a little, and lean in until they’re just a few millimetres away.
“Hi,” they whisper. “Can I kiss you?”
Gerry blinks at them. “I … yeah. Yeah.”
“Good,” they say, and kiss him, hands tangled in his hair.
This is the best thing that a Leitner has ever done for him.

Capp siblings, Tybalt, Juliette & Hermia ❤️💔🌈🔮🌷🍕
Ahhh my children! <3 Thank you for this ask!
Tybalt Capp: ❤️: OTP Mercutio/Tybalt... I mean is that even a surprise? Besides the enemies to friends to lovers trophe that I absolutely adore, reading Shakespeare, the play "Tybalt and Mercutio are Dead", watching the movies and their Sims bios/memories, I felt like both may have way more in common than they might think! Both the black sheep of their family, ton of responsibilities placed on their shoulders from a young age and in reality both simply want to be told that they're doing a good job. I think that once they'd put their Monty/Capp status aside and have a genuine conversation they'd quickly come to realize they're not that different at all!
💔: No OTP Honestly, I'm not too big on Tybalt with anyone but Mercutio (even though Puck/Tybalt can be kinda cute). However, I cannot for the life of me imagine Tybalt in a straight relationship, even makes me mildly uncomfortable because I so strongly headcanon him as gay. To anyone that does like him as straight, totally cool, more fun to you! In the end everyone plays Sims differently and as long as you're having fun that's all that matters. :D I just cannot imagine Tybalt as Straight myself haha.
🌈: Sexuality Ohhh, this dude is gay, very, very gay. He didn't realize for the longest time, just thinking he hadn't found the right girl yet, until well... He got to know Mercutio properly and he was shot with Cupid's arrow. A lot of frustration piled up that he didn't even realize had to do with the fact he was developing feelings for someone.
🔮: Something Random With some Occult ancestry on his father's side he may have more magic running in the family than he might think. ;) He's also amazing at fencing, something that was taught to him from an early age on and often used for self-defense... And sometimes simply to show-off. Cares a great deal about his family as well, like his sisters are his everything. A secondary Family Sim for sure!
🌷: Flowers or Plants They Like Tybalt has a lot of internal turmoil but he has some fond memories of picking flowers with his mom as a child. Forget-Me-Not was a common flower to be found and sometimes he still likes to be near them to be reminded of his mom. Amaryllis is also a flower he loves, planted in the Veronaville gardens his mom would sometimes pick a few pretty ones to put on his room. They represent pride and self-confidence. The name meaning 'to sparkle' because Cordelia loved seeing her son blossom into the young and loving person he was turning out to be. Sadly when she died his self-confidence went down the drain and he became way more agressive about trying to keep up that pride. These flowers are some he does keep on his room, or pick out when he sees them blooming in the garden to bring to his parents grave. Lastly Wolfbane also known as Aconitum. A beautiful purple flower often associated with Occults. This one I picked for him because I feel like that while they are beautiful, these flowers are often associated with a warning sign, to remain cautious. But even misantrophy and death. The colour purple is also associated with magic, richness and royalty (and all 3 of these flowers have pinkish-purple colours, or at least variations that have it). The reason why I picked these in particular? Well... It will later on become more apparent as the story progresses. ;)
🍕: Pizza Topping Onions, pepperoni and extra cheese!
Juliette Capp: ❤️: OTP I don't really have an OTP for her, but I do like her with Romeo and while I'm actually pairing Romeo with someone else for the first time. They're still a pairing that I think is cute and could definitely work on the long run. But they need to remain open and honest with each other. I don't interpret Romeo being a Romance Sim as him being unfaithful, but rather that he cares a great deal about romance, loves affection and may, be polygamous. Once they talk everything out I think they would literally die for each other, I mean hey, they're Romeo and Juliette! They'd be the type of super cutesy couple you'd see on the street, sharing ice cream, laughing, etc.
💔: No OTP I don't think I have a pairing for Juliette that I genuinely dislike. At least I haven't ran across anything that made me go: Ehhhh.
🌈: Sexuality As Straight as a pole! She might be bi-curious, but I think she would lean way more to men. She's also asexual!
🔮: Something Random Is actually very good at writing poetry and keeps several collections in her room, she would likely send them to Romeo or read them for him. And Romeo? Has kept every single one she's written for him in a specially assigned book in his room. He keeps them very close to him as they're very special. Juliette also probably doesn't even want to be the Heiress, but it appears she doesn't have much of a choice. She was raised to carry on the name, something she had been prepared for since birth. But she doesn't dare bring it up, most of it is probably placed in underlying insecurities. If she had someone she could talk to she would probably feel way more confident in her role.
🌷: Flowers or Plants They Like Sunflowers! Their brightness and colours just bring so much happiness to her and if it came to her she would probably have grown them in the garden of their mansion as well. Sunflowers also stand for faithfulness, loyalty and adoration, something which in my opinion greatly represents Juliette who's probably of the most supportive people you can have in your friend group.
🍕: Pizza Topping Tomatoes, cheese, olives, onions and mozzarella! If she's feeling especially daring green peppers on top of it as well.
Hermia Capp: ❤️: OTP Hermia/Puck or Hermia/Puck/Romeo! I wasn't too sure on Hermia/Puck at first until a friend of mine really managed to sell me on the idea. They're soulmates, very much meant to be together, loving to share knowledge with each other, tarots, fortune telling, magic, etc. They also love each other for everything that they are, even the flaws, trusting each other with everything. I cannot really say why I love Hermia/Puck/Romeo yet as it would be a major story spoiler, but I do think Hermia and Romeo have way more in common than one might think as well. c:
💔: No OTP Hermia/Mercutio, I simply cannot see it happening. While I think she may have held feeling towards him, they weren't deeply rooted and in the end Puck had always been her first love. Mercutio does eventually understand and move on from it as well. They remain close friends.
🌈: Sexuality She's bi and falls for someones personality. While she can develop crushes easily, she only falls in love deeply after developing a deep and emotional bond with someone.
🔮: Something Random Hermia is a trans woman, something she knew very early on. Her family and friends have been nothing but supportive! Hermia, despite what her interests may reflect is actually fascinated by magic, occults, sci-fi, etc. Similarly to Tybalt she's got magical ancestory and if stimulated it's very likely she might become one of the most powerful Witches the world has ever seen. She's always been interested in nature and Puck's fairy ancestory and likely would want to become a part of that world in the future as well.
🌷: Flowers or Plants They Like Unlike her siblings Hermia is moreso a succulent type of person. Being into magic and dating Puck she's started making herself more familiar with them, as well as herbs and spices, to try and get into making medicines and potions. Succulents are also way easier to take care off than flowers which can decay rather easily. If she had to pick a flower she'd like (although she would mostly use it for her hair or decorations) it would be a Sea Holly, which despite their prickly and torny exterior have beautifully dark colours, which is also great to be used in medicines.
🍕: Pizza Topping Mozzarella pizzas are her favourites, she also likes herbs on top of it for some additional flavours.

Just curious and I have GENUINELY NO CLUE WAHT SO EVER not even the slightest clue but what about vintage x skull?
I've already covered the ask meme in this post but I will GLADLY talk about them again
I love these two with a subtle adversary to it. even when they make up there's a mild tension because they're both a little reluctant to admit they kinda like each other again, and so they're both trying to poke it a little out of the other one, ESPECIALLY skull who's kind of a little bitch at times. genuinely doing things that vintage likes makes him happy because he Cares about him but if it's something vintage struggles to admit he likes because of his own pride/'I am NOT letting myself squish on skull again. nope no way' vibe it's even Better because then skull gets to be a smug Bastard about it
then again, vintage is able to easily play off the fact that skull is an Idiot. they're both idiots but vintage is a lot more serious and I'd argue with a BIT more common sense (skull's the one getting lost ffs). aviators will carefully point skull in the right direction but vintage will just grab him by the shirt and drag him places. he's got no time for nonsense.
this combination of absolute stupidity chemistry and vague competitive edge to it combined with the fact not only do they really care about each other and struggle to admit it (vin in a 'i wanna be over skull because things went badly last time but he's changed and is now EXACTLY how I wanted him to be then' kinda way and skull in a 'i didn't value him when he was in my life and now he's BACK and I don't wanna scare him off but god do I care about him' kinda way) but then they have all these DEEP SHARED ISSUES (you think vintage doesn't still worry a bit about if he can trust people or if they really truly care about him? you think skull doesn't worry about his leadership/if he's really able to communicate that he cares to those he cares about? and if you take my hcs, you think vin's trust issues don't stem from SKULL'S trust issues being the reason they fucked their friendship up in the first place?) and it's all just. SO GOOD. THERE'S SO MUCH HERE.
there's so much potential for little things too. the elements of matching colour schemes, the height difference, the food difference (they'd totally be the type to get food and then pick at each others). we talk about the drama of charger players but the charger/splatling inherent backline/support-esc tension (I know vin's very aggressive with his ballpoint, but even then THAT'S interesting to see how they both play these incredibly ranged weapons - can you image vin approaching on skull with the speed of that first firing mode while skull tries to aim???) it's all just. Oh my god. Poetic.
I loosely base elements of their relationship off a relationship I had that had a similar 'just keep finding ways of running into each other' vibe (she occasionally goes through my blog so uh, hi, if you're reading this. Guess I'm exposing my nostalgia, uhhhhhh DONT GO ON AO3 AND READ IT IT'S SO BLATENT I BASED IT OFF US ID CRINGE SO HARD IF YOU READ IT) and that was also queerplatonic and that qp vibe really does add to this. I couldn't ship it romantically it would KILL me and the time I did go read romantic fics of them I literally got so distressed it's unreal. Never doing that again.
I ALSO hc they're both trans (vin being transmasc/trans guy and skull being a he/him xenic enby/bigender/gnc ish) and that they both kinda played around with this and figured it out as kids together, and the intimacy of exploring gender together is not to be looked down upon

the war on gender terror
At this point in my life, the presence of mostly-white liberal feminism is inescapable. While I'm excited to see more people taking baby steps to a radical analysis, largely I am frustrated. On the other hand, involuntary exposure to popular feminism is the reason why I'm noticing a trend in it. Here's my report from where I'm standing: the liberal feminists don't know it, but reactionaries are trying to scare them.
Reactionary feminist projects begin the same way as any other reactionary project - concern trolling liberals over topics at arms' length from the main goals of exclusion and domination. With regard to reactionary feminists the progression of topics are well-known: women's sports & 'human trafficking', then domestic violence shelters & kinky porn, then policing gender-segregated bathrooms, defunding trans healthcare, and opposing sex work of any kind. I've been watching a pessimistic thread emerge in liberal feminist (and radical!) circles which I believe has been pushed into place by reactionary feminists. This bio-pessimism places women into a perpetual state of victimhood that can never truly end due to the essential rapacious nature of men. If this seems like the same shit the second-wave lesbian separatists were peddling, that's because it is. What I want to question is how today's essentialist pessimism differs from its initial appearance.
RADFEMS ARE OBSESSED WITH DICK
Reactionary feminists have not dispensed with a religious-conservative perspective on the power of the penis - and by extension they imagine women identically to how the rest of the right views women. The penis, apparently, is the mechanism by which rape becomes possible. Therefore, any engagement with a person with a penis is a grave risk. Vulnerability is a mistake if you might be dealing with a rapist. The MeToo movement activated an enormous public forum about how incredibly prevalent the violence is, but I now see it used as a tool for re-framing this prevalence as a biological reality. (MeToo, even without being used as a tool, was ineffective at acknowledging that violence is perpetrated by all sorts of people). An explosion of survivors talking openly about violence as an unacceptable status quo has been infiltrated by reactionary feminists who whisper that this is the fate of all women, always. The new bio-law absorbs the third wave's progress in acknowledging diversity of experience - right up to the point where it would be forced to note that sexual nature, like categories of racially-dictated nature, is a myth.
This pessimism rooted in the power of the penis is hypervigilance beyond a realistic assessment of risk. (I also blame true crime podcasts and the media in general) This is not the careful awareness of one's surroundings which comes naturally to many of us. What I'm describing is avoiding going out at all, because of statistics on sexual violence which may not even reflect the risks in the neighbourhood. This, for instance, is purchasing and insuring a vehicle for the express purpose of avoiding public transit. I frequently notice that popular discussion of domestic violence neglects to mention the disproportion of violence toward people with disabilities, asserting that all of us have identical risk. Ultimately, this is the justification for a culture of exclusion as the only recourse to the ever-present threat of men. The fortress must be defended, and the enemy could be anywhere.
BUT HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO GET LAID?
I do not want love or children, so my interest in sex is purely recreational. I have been told this is not in line with my female nature - I stand before you deviant and happy. However, anyone attracted to men must grapple with the contradiction of desire and very real risks. I support caution, and even precaution. My concern is with a bio-law that requires a baseline of suspicion if one is to survive, the assumption that one is always a moment away from violence. To be explicit, how am I supposed to have fun when I am letting the enemy penetrate my figurative fortress?
I think this is why kink is such a problem for reactionary feminists. The only way to make the horror of sleeping with the enemy worse is to find that some people like to confront, satirize, and role play the power dynamic. To choose recreational pain or literal bondage flies in the face of the notion that a woman’s lot is to be in constant pain, and to tolerate penetration as a miserable necessity. The reactionary feminist must sleep with one eye open, aware that her biology has already sealed her fate, and mitigate vulnerability by excluding the threat, since she can’t defend herself (biologically speaking). This is why trans women can’t stay at the domestic violence shelter, this is why you should worry for your life if your boyfriend watches kinky porn. As with vanilla dating, there are true risks - and reasonable precautions. But kink is about play with vulnerability - there is no room for play under the martial law of bio-pessimism. By hijacking post-MeToo popular feminism, reactionaries can reinsert the bone-chilling suggestion that it’s all rape, all the time. All the men want kinky sex, because it’s the closest they can come to hurting women the way they secretly wish to. According to this logic, the only way to safely navigate the risk is constant surveillance of men, the self, and any woman who could be a traitor. He’d better not be watching kinky porn, you’d better not be watching kinky porn, and the women in the kinky porn are either hapless victims or remorseless collaborators. Once we have arrived at this point, it’s obvious why the next step is a crusade against any pornography, and a mission to ensure that kink is understood as something men want and women tolerate.
How can reactionary feminists get this done? By linking the prevalence of trauma with the increased visibility of alternative sexuality & gender, from kink-at-pride to polyamory to transcending assigned gender. They ask, do you feel uncomfortable when you see all this change? We’ve all been traumatized - who do these people think they are, flaunting a lifestyle that feels wrong to feminists like you? You should trust your gut, they urge. Perform a little more vigilance to be sure you’re safe. If you find yourself unable to open a dating app or sit next to a man on the bus without feeling deep dread and revulsion, that’s vigilance, and realistic given the state of things. Any - and most - men mean women harm.
REDPILLS AND RADFEMS BELIEVE THE SAME SHIT
Incels hate women, reactionary feminists love a certain kind of woman. This distinction is relevant, especially since incels pose a physical threat to women in general whereas reactionary feminists only attack trans people, black athletes, sex workers, the wrong kind of queers, kinksters, child athletes... Despite their own active hostility toward many types of women, reactionary feminists hold up incels/redpillers/the far right as evidence of the threat that all women live under. There is no doubt that women face misogynist and antifeminist violence. Reactionary feminists are are far from the only ones highlighting this. What’s worth investigating are the given reasons that a target is vulnerable, and what should be done to mitigate risk in the future. In these, an incel and a reactionary feminist are in perfect harmony. Instead of a realistic assessment of risk at an individual level, or an assessment of group dynamics that allowed a survivor-victim to fall through the cracks, both parties will insist that all women are simply unsafe at all times. This notion suits a reactionary feminist’s goal of closed-rank suspicion, and an incel’s dream of terrified submission. This perspective neglects to really ask why things turned out the way they did, because that’s not the point. Whether women are innately inferior or innately vulnerable, we must travel in flocks if we want to survive. The reactionary feminist offers herself as the shepherd, having assured the flock that the enemy is close at hand. Women cannot, of course, be a pack of wolves. Members of a wolf pack work cooperatively but diverge at will.
THE WAR ON GENDER TERROR
The cumulative effect of this mindset and focus is a miserable hypervigilance, which is further hostile to any who are not miserable and vigilant. We know this scrutiny well from living inside a war on terror, which resulted in a vast expansion of state power to exclude, surveil, and punish. Because they have not abandoned their desire to dominate, reactionary feminists would like to do the same along the lines of gender law. Exclusion requires a concrete set of criteria by which a person can be marked acceptable or unacceptable, and there is trouble when a person shifts between the two. Whether you’re an immigration agent or an officer of the gender police, you’ve got to demonize those who shift, and shifting itself. Special attention should be paid to possible ulterior motives. At the overt end, this looks like the myth of the predatory trans woman and the slavery-complicit sex worker. However, these will not be widely accepted until the audience is made nervous by less ridiculous threats with a basis in reality. Sex trafficking is real, and pickup artists really do share tips online about how to pick up, manipulate, and coerce women. However, alarmist chain-mail suggesting that ‘gang members’ are stealing women off the street via box trucks does not reflect reality, but rather supposes that the threat could be any construction worker or labourer with a truck. Given the way people of colour are disproportionately represented in blue-collar work, the implications of this racially-biased hypervigilance should be obvious. The rapid dissemination of information (true or false) online is useful when stoking fear of ulterior motives. Genuine desire to spread a message that could save another woman fuels the sharing of partially-true and emotionally charged statements. Given the existence of incel and pickup artist subcultures, it seems believable that most men could have consumed advice on how to covertly film during sex, or remove a condom without being noticed. Whether that is true or not is irrelevant - the thing to do is be cautious. No matter how they seem, anyone could be concealing their motives. It begins to make sense to suspect a male social worker, or police bathrooms. Furthermore, failure to agree to this assessment of risk is evidence of insufficient solidarity with the rest of the female sex. Solidarity is imperative, given the horrors made visible by feminists who just want to protect women. Inaction could suggest complicity, and asking for a source on a claim is indicative that one does not believe victims. An avalanche of scorn awaits those who ask questions out of turn. the terror cannot end until the defenses are fortified and the infiltrators exposed. As footage of atrocities is replayed during news coverage of foreign occupations, the danger inherent in womanhood must be grimly acknowledged when we consider stepping out into the world.
WHAT IS MY POINT?
Reactionary feminists cling to the second-wave notion of sex and gender as stable categories by which most oppression can be measured. For reactionary feminist strategies to be accepted by a popular feminism informed by intersectionality, popular feminists must at least partially believe in the inherent vulnerability of women or the base instincts of men. While this sentiment was more readily at hand during the second wave of feminism, third wave feminism resists homogenizing by sex, race, or class. While white liberal/popular feminism has an embarrassing tendency to acknowledge intersectionality only out of politeness and/or use it as a cudgel, even performative acknowledgement is a ward against overt essentialist dogma. For this reason, reactionary feminists must harness movements like MeToo, incel attacks, and further misconstrue actual misogynist violence to encourage hypervigilance against terror. The war on gender terror perverts the desire to confront diverse facets of misogyny into the pursuit of covert internal threats. The war compels commitment to defending the home front. A feeling of perpetual vulnerability is the perfect environment for the proliferation of exclusionary strategy. We must feel our goodness and our weakness to the core. Fully enjoying relationships with men, sexual diversity, and private moments of peace are collateral in pursuit of remaining ever-vigilant.

Marvel Gender Headcanons
because i doubt some of these people are cis
Peter:
i claim this man for the trans community
he realised he was trans at around present time (15-16 years old)
he knows his family and friends will accept him
he’s still N E R V O U S
but he still wants to be true to his identity
so he wears the trans flag colours!!
Ned obvs catches on, but doesn’t say anything
Tony’s the first one Peter comes out to, bc i’m soft and irondad owns my heart
Tony gets him a spider suit with a binder built in
Peter is absolutely the kind of trans guy who forgets to take off his binder (i’m not projecting what do you mean)
he comes out to his aunt May next, and she breaks out the scissors
the other eventually figure it out, and they accept him immediately
Peter: Hey Clint?
Clint: Yo
Peter: I’m trans
Clint: *takes a gulp of his soda* wig
Peter: ???
they love him though let’s be real
Natasha Punches A Transphobe
someone calls Peter a tr*nny
Natasha sends them on a one way trip to space :)
Peter absolutely decides to go on T
and he is a handsome!! boy!!
he eventually tells Ned and MJ, and they accept him too
Ned buys him a trans flag
NED BUYS HIM A TRANS FLAG
by the time they’re graduating high school, Peter passes as cis very well
Tony:
i’m claiming Tony as trans too
i promise there’s other gender identities here jdsfhkhsdfkjh
Tony came out in the 80s of all times
we know Howard
it didn’t go over well
Maria didn’t say much about it, but Howard was actively against it
Tony didn’t care at all
he literally snuck out and got a fake ID so he could start on T
Tony was almost 18 at that point, but he still used Howard’s money
just to piss him off
well Howard ended up dying like 3 years later
Maria survived because fuck you
but Tony never ended up getting any surgeries because he ended up getting busy with the company
he just didn’t have time, with all the recovery that goes into it
he’s still on T though!!
mans has tiddies and a beard, the boomers get confused
he tends to keep it more private though
Pepper knows, how could she not?
Pepper is the sole reason Tony survived to adulthood lbr
Peter found out accidentally
Tony got oil on a shirt while fixing one of his machines, and Peter walked in while he had it off
he saw the binder and boyyy was that a surprise
but it totally explained how Tony already knew so much about supporting Peter in his transition
the problem with being an ADHD workaholic??
hyperfocusing
when Tony hyperfocuses, he forgets to take off his binder
Jarvis: Sir, you need to take off your binder
Tony: Gimme like five more minutes, I need to finish this
Jarvis: Sir, it’s been 38 hours??
Tony: *already moving onto the next task* What’s your point?
his ribs are so fucked
Pepper and Peter remind him too
my boy is a mess
Thor:
this is solely because my nb loml claimed thor as nb and it’s super fucking valid
i love you babe 🥺
so Thor learned about different genders from Loki
and also from Peter tbh
but Thor LOVED the idea of being in between
it just made him really happy!!
he started using those labels a lot, even though he didn’t know much about what they meant
being on Earth more, he started to learn more about them
mostly because they replaced cops at pride (Peter’s idea)
so Thor decided to learn more
he knew he liked boys, that wasn’t uncommon on Asgard
gender expression was very open, but that blurred the lines a lot for him
when he got to non-binary, it clicked
“oh that sounds like me”
“THATS ME”
he was excited he’d figured it out
his immediate instinct?
he went to tell Loki
the only problem was Loki was asleep
“LOKI LOKI LOKI-”
“what do you wANT-”
“I’M NON-LIBRARY!!”
“WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN-”
it took like ten minutes for Loki to figure out what he meant
Loki was tired give him a break
he just kinda pushed Thor’s face away and went back to sleep
they talked about it again in the morning
after Loki got some coffee he was more receptive
“I accept you, just please stop waking me up at 2 am”
Thor’s just trying his best
he doesn’t know how to be non-binary though
(there is no right way to be enby though)
so Loki tried a few example sentences using they/them pronouns
Thor LOVED it
so now Thor wanted to use they/them pronouns
Loki isn’t a brain cell by any means
but he sure feels like one sometimes
and he’s tired of it
ANYWAYS
Thor announced it to everyone they saw
some people heard it multiple times
“GUYS I’M NON-BINARY!! :D”
they were happy for their thude
and Thor wore an enby flag to their first pride!!
now the protector of the lesbians says non-library rights
Loki:
Loki basically always knew he was genderfluid
it just seemed really obvious to him?
he realised he wasn’t cis when he was 7
he transformed into a girl for fun
and she was like “oh i like this-”
so she experimented with that
and she fucking loved all of them
so she turned back into a boy and went to Frigga
that’s how he found out about the word genderfluid
so he basically just grew up shapeshifting as much as he wanted
when they eventually went to earth, Loki couldn’t shapeshift as much
after he was redeemed, he still needed to be recognisable so they wouldn’t think he was to pull a fast one on them
he was uncomfy
Loki stays in his room a lot
he just really doesn’t wanna deal with it
he still shapeshifts in private!
Thor ends up being the one to catch on
but he kinda knows that Loki won’t talk to him
so he sends in the spider child!
Loki and Peter have a pretty close bond
so on one of the nights they hang out, it’s a she/her day
and Loki just kinda snapped and went on a bit of a rant
and she ended up coming out to Peter
Loki totally didn’t end up crying what do you mean
she just needs a hug
obvs Peter was accepting
he gave her that hug don’t worry
this was all on a rooftop eating bad street food jhshkfhjfkhkd
he did ask if he could tell the others, and Loki reluctantly agreed
yeah, the others felt kinda bad
so they ended up compromising!!
Loki could shapeshift, but not into other people
and she could wear whatever she wanted
they also gave her bracelets so she could express her pronouns
its a long road
and it takes a long time to build trust
but Loki really does appreciate Thor and Peter’s efforts
Bucky:
trans enby rights. send tweet
let’s jump back to 1930s
Bucky was transitioning before the war
he had the surgeries and was on T
Steve was the only one who really knew
it was right when HRT was starting to become a thing
he was one of the first people to try it
and it worked pretty well!
Bucky passed easily after ~2 years on T
but then he died
RIP Bucky :(
when he comes back as a Hydra agent, they use T supplements to make his body stronger
“Jokes on you, I like that shit”
yeah no the others end up rescuing him from there
but Bucky still takes T
everyone is a bit worried about it
they think he’s still under Hydra’s control
Steve has to explain it (with Bucky’s permission)
but Bucky really starts feeling a disconnect with being a male
it’s mostly due to the trauma from Hydra
he knows he’s not a girl anymore
but he hates the idea of being a boy now
so he has no idea what he is
he ends up drawing the parallel between himself and Thor
but Bucky still sees some masculinity in Thor, which confuses him a LOT
Bucky’s always confused lbr
so he ends up finding the term Agender
and he understands it!! and likes it!!
he’s too nervous to tell the others, so he writes sentences using they/them pronouns
“Their name is Bucky Barnes”
“Bucky is tired, they need a nap”
“Bucky’s best friend is Steve. They’ve known Steve since the beginning”
Bucky is WAY happier with they/them pronouns
the problem is they don’t know how to communicate that
even to Steve, they’re just nervous
Steve ends up finding the paper, which now has over 100 sentences
so the next time they’re alone, Steve brings it up, and after a little bit of avoiding answering, Bucky tells him about it
Steve is super accepting 🥺
“Do you want me to tell the others for you?”
“Yes please, I have no idea what I’m doing-”
“I don’t think any of us do”
so Steve lets the others know, and they start using they/them pronouns
Bucky’s IMMEDIATELY so much happier
i just think they’re neat-
MJ:
MJ isn’t cis, fuck you
MJ is a demigirl
and no one even figured it out for the longest time
she kinda groups herself on the more non-binary side
Peter finds out because someone calls her by they/them pronouns
“MJ?? Are you?? Non-binary??”
“Nope”
“Are you still a girl??”
“Nope”
after like 20 mins Peter figures it out
and boy is he confused
“Why didn’t you just say it?”
“I couldn’t. Gotta keep ‘em on their toes”
“Who??”
“:)”
the M in MJ stands for mystery
anyways!!
she switches from lesbian to the term Trixic (NBLW)
MJ goes to pride with Peter and Ned that year
MJ gets a girlfriend there!!
she comes out to her girlfriend upfront. she doesn’t feel like waiting
yeah she gets intense
she gets it from her moms
who can blame her
MJ sometimes wears a binder
she wore one on the first day of school, because Peter was nervous about being out (he’d come out over the summer)
MJ will punch transphobes and homophobes
even just for fun tbh
but she won’t do it immediately
she heard someone make a comment about Ned and his boyfriend and waited a few days
and then came out of nowhere
B O N K
the douchebag kinda knew why though
in conclusion, MJ is elite

I would love to hear any lamifex headcanons you have
ask and you shall receive!! it is deeply embarrassing how often i think about characters we know maybe three things about canonically, so i’ll try and not make this too long:
as seen in the char clip, la mif still drink around lola, but post-rehab they’re more cautious about it. they’re definitely not the type to get super fucked up when drinking anyways, but it might be a little weird at first, them walking on awkward eggshells, before she tells them it’s fine, she isn’t going to be tempted, and sekou’s like “we care about you”, and lola is very pleased to hear that but kinda covers it up with a fond eye roll and says, “still. you don’t need to change for me.” and then max, with his own version of the fond eye roll, says “fine we’ll go ahead with our rager then.” and she thinks he’s joking and he is being vaguely snarky but he’s also not lying: it’s just that a lamifex rager involves the fruitiest drink you can think of, karaoke and political debates occurring loudly at the same time, and sleeping bags on maya’s apartment floor. (she offers them the couch/blankets etc but jo, semi-offended she’s not getting the bed, is like: “no if you’re forcing us - your best and dearest friends - to rough it out like peasants, we’re going to commit to the role.” she says a lot of film-esque things like that - committing to the role, etc - ever since they finished filming l&o and eliott bewilderingly approved of her ninja princess script idea).
anyways by default mayla become the designated drivers / Mom Friends in the group, and lola finds herself...maybe not completely enjoying taking care of people, especially when they’re drunk and messy, but there’s something nice about being the dependable one occasionally, and she likes filming the dumb things they say. the group chat the day after sleepovers/parties is FUN.
when i say “designated driver” i do not mean that literally because i do not get driver vibes from maya AT ALL. idk how the hell she got lola home from the club that one time, but she did not drive. sekou, max and jo can all drive, although nobody wants jo to drive because then she’d be in charge of the music.
they go to political rallies together!! they make signs together, sekou helps plan the safest routes, and they all have connections to various groups: trans groups, lesbian feminist groups, Black activist groups, autistic advocacy groups. they’re literally the most connected people in paris, and jo jokes about knowing the mafia too. lola does not know if she’s actually joking or not, and doesn’t ask.
they definitely go to pride together and i’m manifesting the cast going next year too. they all wear their various flag colours. sekou wears rainbow suspenders, max tugs him closer by them; lola is maybe overwhelmed by her first pride so maya holds her close, and jo is once again disgusted by the single-phobia of it all.
i’ve said it before but sexuality/gender wise i view them as: max (bi trans man), sekou (cis gay man), jo (bisexual, nonbinary), maya (cis lesbian), lola (cis lesbian). age wise i view them as sixteen (lola), seventeen (jo, max, sekou), and eighteen (maya). i have no astrology headcanons as i sadly know nothing about the zodiac, but franceslashtv said months ago that lola’s a scorpio and maya’s a cancer, so do with that what you will.
so in terms of ages, i think they gently bully maya for being the oldest all the time, calling her a grandma on her birthday, buying her a plastic walking cane before her real gift. but it is very loving, it’s not the “gentle bullying that is actually just being mean” thing that people on tumblr love doing lol. i think when someone gets upset, they take it seriously and learn from it. and as seen in that first urbex party clip, they definitely have a lot to learn re: sekou’s info-dumping.
idk how the french education system works but sekou is interested in art history and IT, he does commissions online but only charges the rich people like if your ex has posted revenge p*rn then he’ll hack them for free etc. max likes music but is thinking practically so picks up some law classes and eventually falls into advocacy & policy; he likes cinematography after l&o and makes films/songs for community groups. jo likes art and maths and thinks about combining it into architecture but says she’s “keeping her options open”; lola likes science and dabbles in freelance photography before making it a full-time thing. maya probably eventually wants to attend a local community college, but she’s undecided on what yet. (i’m torn between things like marine biology, social work or....teaching??).
they probably would eventually get matching/group tattoos. at one point they all briefly live together and it’s the best and worst decision of their lives. (speaking of living together: i think maya lived with max after she left foster care but pre-apartment, and am choosing to believe they’re just very platonically protective over each other instead of being exes).

Character bios pt 2!!
Decided to continue the bios for the rest of the fam squad, the full extended family!! Might change things around a bit, we’ll see!!! Here’s part one in case you missed it :3
Emile Sanders (formerly Picani):
Age: 46
Pronouns: he/him/they/them
Height: 6’1”
Curly medium golden mahogany brown hair and sky blue eyes, subtly tanned skin covered in freckles, red framed rounded glasses, likes dressing like a cartoon character or just wearing cartoon merch (his prized possession is his Mabel pines jumper) but wears a brown cardigan over a white button down shirt with a pink necktie when he goes to work
A big goofball that has a lot of love to give, but he still knows when to be more subdued and calm and when to activate “serious picani”. He’s always loved helping people work through their issues which is why he’s a therapist
Like patton, he’s excellent at reading emotions, though he’s a bit better at it since he’s a professional
Has ADHD, but has developed the necessary coping skills to help keep his symptoms under control
Has two siblings; Catarina (Patton’s mother) and Leonard (Patton’s other uncle). Emile is the baby of the family while Leonard is the oldest
Emile met Thomas when they were both in college. They shared an ASL class and quickly began getting along, and frequently practiced sign language together and feelings developed from there
It was quite some time before they got married, but it was well worth the wait
Thomas Sanders:
Age: 43
Pronouns: he/him
Height: 5’10”
The standard character Thomas look; floppy medium brown hair, chestnut eyes, fair skinned, wears the same three shirts periodically for five years until he buys three new shirts, the usual stuff
He’s a sweet, down to earth guy. Loves cartoons almost as much as Emile does, has a passion for pizza, theatre, and the cats of the world he’ll never be able to pet without dying. He can be impulsive at times, but his heightened anxiety oftentimes outweighs that
Has three brothers named Christian, Patrick, and Shea, but I won’t describe them in depth cos I don’t wanna get any facts wrong since this is based on Thomas himself oop-
I’m literally just describing the canon character Thomas except slightly older im-
There’s like nothing else to add to make this fun and unique it’s just character Thomas welp
Thomas and Emile’s kids:
Anton Sanders:
Age: 16
Pronouns: any/all
Height: idk uh ??? 5’7” ???
Medium length wavy black hair, electric blue eyes, fair skinned with a beauty mark on his right cheek beneath his eye, usually wears fashionable clothes and declares himself an eleven, often wears scarves and turtlenecks (almost exclusively black) as well as his round mirrored sunglasses
Can and will kill you with a single look. Especially if you mess with his family. He’ll never admit it but he loves them with everything he’s got, even if he never acts like it for even a moment
Especially adores Remy and respects that they’re discovering themself and exploring new possibilities. He knows from experience how tough that is and how much of a challenge it can be
Was adopted at age three after his parents were busted for child abuse and heavy drug addiction. It took quite some time for him to come out of his shell but Emile and Thomas were nothing but patient and loving and kind. He still has a lot of trust issues but he knows he can trust his family
Will never admit it now but became insanely jealous when remy was adopted into the family. He did not want a brother because he knew that meant he was being replaced and he wasn’t loved anymore
Eventually Thomas and Emile sat him down and they all talked through it and assured Anton that he was still loved and he was not being replaced
It still took a very long time for Anton to trust Remy, even if he was only a baby
His heart was won over when Remy said his first word to him
All he said was “no” but Anton admired his defiant spirit
also yes this is the Critic how did u know
Remy Sanders:
Age: 12 (birthday January 16)
Pronouns: he/him/they/them/it/its
Height: damnit how tall are 12 year olds
Shoulder length hair dyed dark purple at the roots that fades into magenta at the ends (hair colour changes periodically depending on what it feels like having), chocolate brown eyes, fairly dark skinned but not heavily so, gender expression changes at the drop of a hat but it often wears leather, skirts, beanies, and a heck ton of earrings (when it turns eighteen it starts getting a lot of different piercings like angel bites, nostril, and industrial piercings, etc) (that’s worth noting)
Almost always sarcastic but that’s its way of showing love really. It’s a helluva punk that can and will fight anyone to the death if they deserve it (or if they hurt someone Remy likes). It’s actually a huge nerd but doesnt usually show that side of itself. It loves reading, watching shows like doctor who, and doing puzzles with Logan
Was diagnosed with adhd after Emile noticed it experienced similar symptoms for quite a while
Was adopted by Thomas and Emile when it was a baby (and Anton was four), having been found by Emile when it was left in a box in an alleyway, which was a long and complicated process but one hundred percent worth it
It has a trio of male rats named Holmes, Watson, and Splinter. Thomas was a bit reluctant to let it adopt rats but they all went to a rat breeder and when Thomas saw them all and even held one he realised it wasn’t so bad and they were actually kinda cute
When it was nine years old, it nearly died in a nasty hit and run. A truck had swerved into it when it was by the side of the road. It was fine after a lengthy recovery except it had to use a wheelchair after some spinal cord damage left it immobilised from the waist down. The driver was never identified
It probably wasn’t a coincidence that this event occurred not long after remy started talking about how much it loved boys just as much as it loved girls, but that teas a bit too hot for this post
Logan’s sisters:
Ellen Adams-Waterson:
Age: 26
Pronouns: she/her
Height: 5’6”
Light auburn hair going just barely past the shoulders, honey eyes, fair skinned though mildly tanned, covered from head to toe with freckles, red framed rectangular glasses, usually wears clothes for comfort and especially likes turtlenecks
She’s a determined, steadfast kinda gal who fights for whats right and gives everything she has for her loved ones, especially her immediate family. Although she can be pretty blunt with her words she’s also kindhearted and wants whats best for everyone
She’s an avid writer, and has actually published a novel. She also dabbles in fanfiction and is unashamed about it
She’s married to a wonderful wife named Elizabeth and they have a daughter named Kaylee (15)
She’s also been trying to quit smoking but so far that has yielded no results
Ashley Fletcher (formerly Adams):
Age: 24
Pronouns: she/her
Height: 5’10”
Long light ash brown hair that reaches her tailbone that she keeps parted to the right, electric blue eyes, fair skinned and a face full of freckles, black rectangular glasses, tries to be fashion forward but mostly just wears T-shirts and denim jackets
She’s a trans woman and has been transitioning for a few years now with lots of support from her family. She’s a nice person but let’s people walk all over her a bit. She doesn’t like confrontation much because of her anxiety disorder, but she’s trying to get better with that
Loves acting and wants to pursue it as a career, but her anxiety makes it difficult to put herself out there
Married to a trans man named warren and they have a son named jack (11) and a daughter named Emma (6)
She met warren at a pride event with Logan and Patton, and it was actually Patton who met him first (although at the time he went by a different name and didnt know he was trans yet) and then introduced him to the others
They actually talked about adopting a child long before even considering marriage. Although they realised it would look better to adoption agencies if they were married, and that was the main reason they even went through all of that
Renae Adams:
Age: 21
Pronouns: she/her/he/him
Height: 6’8”
Short wavy hair dyed bright pink, amber eyes, fair skinned, a black *dabs* styling pair of Warby Parker’s, often wears high neck shirts and suit jackets, basically always business casual because she can, and loves wearing hoop earrings
There are two sides to Renae; either stone cold businessperson or happy go lucky memelord with a heart of gold. She’s a lot like Logan in that regard, although it’s harder to predict what side of her you’ll see at any given moment. She can either be a super soft bean or the scariest person on the planet
Has been dealing with OCD her whole life, and sometimes it gets particularly bad (especially the intrusive thoughts) but she has a therapist and psychiatrist she sees somewhat regularly
She runs her own coffee shop called Real Bean Café and it does fairly well. She’s always thinking about how she can improve her business
She’s aroace so she isn’t in a romantic relationship but she is in a queerplatonic relationship with a beautiful enby named Pigeon
They actually met in her coffeeshop. Renae saw Pigeon’s Attack on Titan T-shirt and was immediately compelled to talk to them
And that is it for part two of the character bios!!! Might make another post talking about Logan’s sisters’ kids and partners but idk we’ll see 👀
I just really like character designs man lmao
Lemme know if I need to tag anything else my brain box isn’t generating the required tags rn lmao

do you have any sources on the claims you made? im always willing to change my stance if you have legitimate backing for it haha
So first, I’m sorry for blowing up at you the way that I did. I’m not proud that I reacted in such a kneejerk, aggressive fashion. Thank you for being open to hearing what I have to say. I’m sorry for mistaking you for a TERF, and I’m sorry my response has caused other people to direct their own hostility towards you.
So, here’s the thing. “You can’t call bi women femmes” is pretty intrinsically a radfem thing to say, and I am deeply opposed to letting radfems tell me what to do. I’m trying to write this during a weekend packed with childcare and work. I’ll try to hit all the high notes.
The one thing I am having trouble finding is the longass post I talked about in my reply, that was a history of butch/femme relationships in lesbian bars, which had frequent biphobic asides and talked about “the lesbophobic myth of the bi-rejecting lesbian”; the friend who reblogged it without reading it thoroughly has deleted it, and I can’t find it on any of the tags she remembers looking at around that time. If anyone can find it, I’ll put up a link.
As far as possible, I’m linking to really widely accessible sources, because you shouldn’t intrinsically trust a random post on Tumblr as secret privileged knowledge. People have talked about this at length in reputable publications that your local library either has, or can get through interlibrary loan; you can look up any of the people here, read their work, and decide for yourself. This is a narrative of perspectives, and while I obviously have a perspective, many people disagree with me. At the end of the day, the only reason I need for calling bi women femmes is that You Are Not The Boss Of Me. There is no centralized authority on LGBT+ word usage, nor do I think there should be. Hopefully this post will give you a better sense of what the arguments are, and how to evaluate peoples’ claims in the future.
I looked up “butch” and “femme” with my library’s subscription to the Oxford English Dictionary because that’s where you find the most evidence of etymology and early use, and found:
“Femme” is the French word for “woman”.  It’s been a loanword in English for about 200 years, and in the late 19th century in America it was just a slangy word for “women”, as in, “There were lots of femmes there for the boys to dance with”
“Butch” has been used in American English to mean a tough, masculine man since the late 19th century; in the 1930s and 1940s it came to apply to a short masculine haircut, and shortly thereafter, a woman who wore such a haircut. It’s still used as a nickname for masculine cis guys–my godfather’s name is Martin, but his family calls him Butch. By the 1960s in Britain, “butch” was slang for the penetrating partner of a pair of gay men.
Butch/femme as a dichotomy for women arose specifically in the American lesbian bar scene around, enh, about the 1940s, to enh, about the 1960s. Closet-keys has a pretty extensive butch/femme history reader. This scene was predominantly working-class women, and many spaces in it were predominantly for women of colour. This was a time when “lesbian” literally meant anyone who identified as a woman, and who was sexually or romantically interested in other women. A lot of the women in these spaces were closeted in the rest of their lives, and outside of their safe spaces, they had to dress normatively, were financially dependent on husbands, etc. Both modern lesbians, and modern bisexual women, can see themselves represented in this historical period.
These spaces cross-pollinated heavily with ball culture and drag culture, and were largely about working-class POC creating spaces where they could explore different gender expressions, gender as a construct and a performance, and engage in a variety of relationships. Butch/femme was a binary, but it worked as well as most binaries to do with sex and gender do, which is to say, it broke down a lot, despite the best efforts of people to enforce it. It became used by people of many different genders and orientations whose common denominator was the need for safety and discretion. “Butch” and “femme” were words with meanings, not owners.
Lesbianism as distinct from bisexuality comes from the second wave of feminism, which began in, enh, the 1960s, until about, enh, maybe the 1980s, maybe never by the way Tumblr is going. “Radical” feminism means not just that this is a new and more exciting form of feminism compared to the early 20th century suffrage movement; as one self-identified radfem professor of mine liked to tell us every single lecture, it shares an etymology with the word “root”, meaning that sex discrimination is at the root of all oppression.
Radical feminism blossomed among college-educated women, which also meant, predominantly white, middle- or upper-class women whose first sexual encounters with women happened at elite all-girls schools or universities. Most of these women broke open the field of “women’s studies” and the leading lights of radical feminism often achieved careers as prominent scholars and tenured professors.
Radical feminism established itself as counter to “The Patriarchy”, and one of the things many early radfems believed was, all men were the enemy. All men perpetuated patriarchy and were damaging to women. So the logical decision was for women to withdraw from men in all manner and circumstances–financially, legally, politically, socially, and sexually. “Political lesbianism” wasn’t united by its sexual desire for women; many of its members were asexual, or heterosexual women who decided to live celibate lives. This was because associating with men in any form was essentially aiding and abetting the enemy.
Look, I’ll just literally quote Wikipedia quoting an influential early lesbian separatist/radical feminist commune: “The Furies recommended that Lesbian Separatists relate “only (with) women who cut their ties to male privilege” and suggest that “as long as women still benefit from heterosexuality, receive its privileges and security, they will at some point have to betray their sisters, especially Lesbian sisters who do not receive those benefits”“
This cross-pollinated with the average experience of WLW undergraduates, who were attending school at a time when women weren’t expected to have academic careers; college for women was primarily seen as a place to meet eligible men to eventually marry. So there were definitely women who had relationships with other women, but then, partly due to the pressure of economic reality and heteronormativity, married men. This led to the phrase LUG, or “lesbian until graduation”, which is the kind of thing that still got flung at me in the 00s as an openly bisexual undergrad. Calling someone a LUG was basically an invitation to fight.
The assumption was that women who marry men when they’re 22, or women who don’t stay in the feminist academic sphere, end up betraying their ideals and failing to have solidarity with their sisters. Which seriously erases the many contributions of bi, het, and ace women to feminism and queer liberation. For one, I want to point to Brenda Howard, the bisexual woman who worked to turn Pride from the spontaneous riots in 1969 to the nationwide organized protests and parades that began in 1970 and continue to this day. She spent the majority of her life to a male partner, but that didn’t diminish her contribution to the LGBT+ community.
Lesbian separatists, and radical feminists, hated Butch/Femme terminology. They felt it was a replication of unnecessarily heteronormative ideals. Butch/femme existed in an LGBT+ context, where gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender people understood themselves to have more in common with each other than with, say, cis feminists who just hated men more than they loved women.
The other main stream of feminist thought at the time was Liberal Feminism, which was like, “What if we can change society without totally rejecting men?” and had prominent figures like Gloria Steinem, who ran Ms magazine. Even today, you’ll hear radfems railing against “libfems” and I’m like, my good women, liberal feminism got replaced thirty years ago. Please update your internal schema of “the enemy”
Lesbian separatism was… plagued by infighting. To maintain a “woman-only” space, they had to kick out trans women (thus, TERFs), women who slept with men (thus, biphobia), women who enjoyed kinky sex or pornography or engaged in sex work (thus, SWERFS) and they really struggled to raise their male children in a way that was… um… anti-oppressive. (I’m biased; I know people who were raised in lesbian separatist communes and did not have great childhoods.) At the same time, they had other members they very much wanted to keep, even though their behaviour deviated from the expected program, so you ended up with spectacles like Andrea Dworkin self-identifying as a lesbian despite being deeply in love with and married to a self-identified gay man for twenty years, despite beng famous for the theory that no woman could ever have consensual sex with a man, because all she could ever do was acquiesce to her own rape.
There’s a reason radical feminism stopped being a major part of the public discourse, and also a reason why it survives today: While its proponents became increasingly obsolete, they were respected scholars and tenured university professors. This meant people like Camille Paglia and Mary Daly, despite their transphobia and racism, were considered important people to read and guaranteed jobs educating young people who had probably just moved into a space where they could meet other LGBT people for the very first time. So a lot of modern LGBT people (including me) were educated by radical feminist professors or assigned radical feminist books to read in class.
The person I want to point to as a great exemplar is Alison Bechdel, a white woman who discovered she was a lesbian in college, was educated in the second-wave feminist tradition, but also identified as a butch and made art about the butch/femme dichotomy’s persistence and fluidity. You can see part of that tension in her comic; she knows the official lesbian establishment frowns on butch/femme divisions, but it’s relevant to her lived experience.
What actually replaced radical feminism was not liberal feminism, but intersectional feminism and the “Third Wave”. Black radical feminists, like Audre Lorde, bell hooks, and Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw, pointed out that many white radical feminists were ignoring race as a possible cause of oppression, and failing to notice how their experiences differed from Black womens’. Which led to a proliferation of feminists talking about other oppressions they faced: Disabled feminists, Latina feminists, queer feminists, working-class feminists. It became clear that even if you eliminated the gender binary from society, there was still a lot of bad shit that you had to unlearn–and also, a lot of oppression that still happened in lesbian separatist spaces.
I’ve talked before about how working in women-only second-wave spaces really destroyed my faith in them and reinforced my belief in intersectional feminism
Meanwhile, back in the broader queer community, “queer” stuck as a label because how people identified was really fluid. Part of it is that you learn by experience, and sometimes the only way to know if something works for you is to try it out, and part of it is that, as society changed, a lot more people became able to take on new identities without as much fear. So for example, you have people like Pat Califia, who identified as a lesbian in the 70s and 80s, found far more in common with gay leather daddies than sex-negative lesbians, and these days identifies as a bisexual trans man.
Another reason radical feminists hate the word “queer”, by the way, is queer theory, which wants to go beyond the concept of men oppressing women, or straights oppressing gays, but to question this entire system we’ve built, of sex, and gender, and orientation. It talks about “queering” things to mean “to deviate from heteronormativity” more than “to be homosexual”. A man who is married to a woman, who stays at home and raises their children while she works, is viewed as “queer” inasmuch as he deviates from heteronormativity, and is discriminated against for it.
So, I love queer theory, but I will agree that it can be infuriating to hear somebody say that as a single (cis het) man he is “queer” in the same way being a trans lesbian of colour is “queer”, and get very upset and precious about being told they’re not actually the same thing. I think that actually, “queer as a slur” originated as the kind of thing you want to scream when listening to too much academic bloviating, like, “This is a slur! Don’t reclaim it if it didn’t originally apply to you! It’s like poor white people trying to call themselves the n-word!” so you should make sure you are speaking about a group actually discriminated against before calling them “queer”. On the other hand, queer theory is where the theory of “toxic masculinity” came from and we realized that we don’t have to eliminate all men from the universe to reduce gender violence; if we actually pay attention to the pressures that make men so shitty, we can reduce or reverse-engineer them and encourage them to be better, less sexist, men.
But since radfems and queer theorists are basically mortal enemies in academia, radical feminists quite welcomed the “queer as a slur” phenomenon as a way to silence and exclude people they wanted silenced and excluded, because frankly until that came along they’ve been losing the culture wars.
This is kind of bad news for lesbians who just want to float off to a happy land of only loving women and not getting sexually harrassed by men. As it turns out, you can’t just turn on your lesbianism and opt out of living in society. Society will follow you wherever you go. If you want to end men saying gross things to lesbians, you can’t just defend lesbianism as meaning “don’t hit on me”; you have to end men saying gross things to all women, including bi and other queer women.  And if you do want a lesbian-only space, you either have to accept that you will have to exclude and discriminate against some people, including members of your community whose identities or partners change in the future, or accept that the cost of not being a TERF and a biphobe is putting up with people in your space whose desires don’t always resemble yours.
Good god, this got extensive and I’ve been writing for two hours.
So here’s the other thing.
My girlfriend is a femme bi woman. She’s married to a man.
She’s also married to two women.
And dating a man.
And dating me (a woman).
When you throw monogamy out the window, it becomes EVEN MORE obvious that “being married to a man” does not exclude a woman from participation in the queer community as a queer woman, a woman whose presentation is relevant in WLW contexts. Like, this woman is in more relationships with women at the moment than some lesbians on this site have been in for their entire lives.
You can start out with really clear-cut ideas about “THIS is what my life is gonna be like” but then your best friend’s sexual orientation changes, or your lover starts to transition, and things in real life are so much messier than they look when you’re planning your future. It’s easy to be cruel, exclusionary, or dismissive to people you don’t know; it’s a lot harder when it’s people you have real relationships with.
And my married-to-a-man girlfriend? Uses “butch” and “femme” for reasons very relevant to her queerness and often fairly unique to femme bi women, like, “I was out with my husband and looking pretty femme, so I guess they didn’t clock me as a queer” or “I was the least butch person there, so they didn’t expect me to be the only one who uses power tools.” Being a femme bi woman is a lot about invisibility, which is worth talking about as a queer experience instead of being assumed to exclude us from the queer community.

hi again! i feel like i'm not asking the (exciting?) ones but - 18 | 20 | 27
I answered 20 before but here are for the two others!!
18: my favourite LGBT+ books
When asked that, I've got three that immediately come to my mind, I might have some others but those are the ones I'm thinking about the most right now. The firsts two are both in French in their original version but I think you can find translations and are both graphic novels. I mentioned the first one earlier saying you definitely shouldn't see the movie. That's right, Blue is the Warmest Colour. First time I read it, I literally cried. You know what... Actually... Watch the movie. Then read the book and understand why the movie is shit. Not because it's poorly adapted, once again (because it is, but that's not the point), but because it completely misses the point, the message, the core. BITWC is about coming of age and discovering your sexual orientation as a teen girl in the 90's. It's about a realistic, soft and bittersweet love story as much as growing up. And it's beautiful. Then I'm thinking about - and here I'm giving the French title as I'm a bit too lazy to check out if it's been translated - Appelez moi Nathan, literally Call me Nathan, which is about a trans boy, from his childhood to the accomplishments he intends to reach. It's extremely well depicted, but huge TW on self harm and suicidal tendencies. I think it's based on a true story - I mean... It could be any transmasc story BUT I think the author actually worked with a specific person to write it. Finally, the last(s) one(s) are a book series, graphic novels as well, called Wet Moon, by Sophie Campbell - I'm specific on this because there's another book series called Wet Moon that's absolutely not the same. It's not "about" LBGT+ characters but pretty much all of them are, and the plot partly centers on their relationships. Aside from that, it's a strange story that took YEARS for the author to finish (more than 10 years I believe...), about coming of age, slice of life, but also murders and supernatural stuff occurring. It sounds weird. It's weird. It takes place in Florida. I've never set foot in Florida but to me it's a good explanation enough for it to be so weird. I love it so much. Oh and I forgot to mention that all the authors here are queer! Julie Maroh is a lesbian, Monsieur Q is gay, I think, and Sophie Campbell is a trans woman - and I think she's a lesbian as well!
27: what do I think of gender roles in relationships?
Well, to me... They make no sense... It's hard to explain, here again, how some things just... Don't exist in my mind? I mean, I can't conceptualise them? I know they're real, somewhere out there, I can even understand the dynamics, the questions they create, the debates or the causes and consequences but... I just... Can't... Get them. It's like - and that's gonna be a very stupid example but it gives out a rather clear idea - WHY CAN'T I SIT ON A TABLE WHEN I'M OUT SOMEWHERE? Like in a coffee shop or restaurant? I don't like sitting on a chair and I don't like eating at a table. I like to sit on the floor or on the counter so I can cross my legs and rest my back against the wall. Also, why is it widely socially accepted that it's better to live during daytime and sleep during nighttime? What if I don't wanna? Then I can't really get a job, except a night job, but I don't wanna, either, see my problem? I understand there are common rules, or common ideas, at the very least, and gender roles are one of those common ideas. Now I'm not saying it's a universal truth that everyone applies and that it just inherently exists. I understand why it is, and should be, a topic to be discussed. But when I get to discuss it, I'm quickly lost because I just don't get it. Why should there even be gender roles in the first place? I don't even get how you can put gender and role in a same bag. What's a role anyway? Like... Performing... Something...? Following another set of rules... Depending on what? Then there are those ones saying "depending on what's in your pants" and I'm like... Because I don't have a cock I can't do some things? Ah? Like? There are plenty of things I can't do but certainly not because I don't have a penis. Then others are like "you can do whatever you want no matter your gender!!!" and I'm... Yes? I know? Please don't yell at me, it scares me? I don't want to be a part of this fight. You might have noticed I like calling myself a stray cat. That's because that's how I truly feel!! It's not bragging, not pride, it's just... Me... Doing my own thing. I live, and always lived, in my very own private little world, closed to many things - not close-minded, mind! Some things just don't touch me. I'll gladly fight for them along with my peers to claim rights, equity, respect, or anything, but I don't get why it should even be necessary. Who decided gender roles? Were there a bunch of people, sitting around a table, someday, saying hey, this group of persons will be entitled to do that, and this other group, to do this! Or did it just happen? Why did it happen? I'm very much involved in many political causes and I have lots of convictions. But as for myself and how I apply those... I do it on my own. I don't care if I don't fit, no matter how much it's hurtful and frustrating sometimes. I just can't bend myself to things I don't understand. I take a certain pride in this, or at least I used to, when I was a teen, now I've just come to terms with the fact that there are things I'll never be able to understand or do, but that's okay, because I don't need them. So... Tl;dr, fuck gender roles because it makes no sense at all to me.
