The freaking way the Higurashi family contacts you sometime after you managed to get back to your era because of a message Kagome left years ago before she vanished through the well permanently, so you travel to Japan, and while you're in the middle of a conversation two half-demons burst into the house declaring you're their mother.
Time travel shenanigans are rough. Irene is much confused. Maria is both baffled and impressed, because Airi and Towa are very much obviously Irene's children, which means she definitely ends up woo'ing Sesshomaru at some point, but also w h a t.
Sota is just, "Yup. Another day in the life. Welcome to the Higurashi shrine."
Irene is vehemently convinced they have her confused with someone else, because Sesshomaru would never. Especially not with a human. (But he does, eventually, and she's the mom, and she's hitting her head against a tree later upon realizing Airi and Towa weren't mistaken at all.)

Daemyra is not grooming and pedophilia, book and show, I have already explained countless times why and I won't do it again here. And Daemon do not abuse physically Rhaenyra in Fire and Blood.
Zutara is not a relationship of a colonizer with a colonized person. Zuko himself is not a colonizer and the people of Katara were never colonized by the Fire Nation.
Sylki is not a true incestuous relationship, especially not with yourself. Sylki is not shown and characterized as truly the same person but as different people with the same role in the universe.
I'm not erasing the canonical sexuality of Charlastor / Radiobelle by shipping them into the context of fanon.
Kylo Ren / Ben Solo is not a Nazi, I also already explained why. Essentially he has no ideology of his own and has been manipulated since his fetus by hearing voices in his head 24/7 again today, and above all the defenders against grooming keep quiet this time ironically, since Kylo Ren / Ben Solo is actually a victim of grooming by Snoke / Palpatine.
The Darkling has not committed any genocide, he is not a pedophile or a groomer either and is even less a killer of childs specifically...
For Sareth basically... Everything that happens in the movie is essentially a representation of the desires / fantasies of teenage Sarah. No, I'm saying that the film, through its story and especially the character of Sarah, is in a way a representation of the adolescent's desire / dreams, and also a bit of hormones / sexual awakening. Without forgetting the fact of accepting to grow. That's why everything in the maze is in Sarah's room. That's why Jareth's universe is in this book, and also why the way to defeat Jareth there is. This is why Jareth is “in love” with Sarah. That's why he looks like a walking sexual fantasy with his tights on. Why there is a snake, a cane. Why does everyone at the ball wear masks with horns and long noses (= just falic / sexual symbols) Brief. There's nothing wrong with shipping Jareth with Sarah, since he's literally her personal fantasy and he's acting on that. (in the sense that he takes the role she gives him in the story)
Sessrin / Sesshrin is also not a relationship based on pedophilia. Sesshomaru clearly didn't feel anything romantic or sexual about Rin when she was a child. As for the accusations of grooming, they are unfounded because there is no proof. The fact that Rin gave birth to twins at 18 is not proof of this. Inuyasha takes place in the feudal era where a girl under 18 is seen as an adult. Essentially, Sesshomaru simply fell in love with Rin as she grew up. And he came to see her from time to time from the moment he left it with Kaede as a child. He was not responsible for her education. That was Kaede. He wasn't her father figure either, that was Jaken.
And Hades and Persephone must be read in the context of the time when the myth was written, otherwise you lose its true meaning. I have already reblogged excellent analyzes on the subject, I invite you to go and see them. Hades, essentially, is not the true villain in this myth.

Rin: Bad Inuyasha Character
Another bad damsel in distress in the Inuyasha series. I never really liked Rin since I've always thought of her as a weak girl who was clingy and obsessed with Sesshomaru. Rin is like a younger version of Kagome except she's not an archer.
Her Character
In the original, rin was an annoying and obnoxious little girl who had a dark past and a major obsession with sesshomaru but in yashahime it was much worst.
For the majority of yashahime, rin was frozen in the tree of ages. In the first season of episode 1, it was a flashback of a manga chapter in the final act. But in episode 15, she lacked character as she let sesshomaru, who just ignored her, take her newly born twins away with no explanation other than it was a rite of courage and cowardice and was completely obedient and okay with it. Suddenly in season 2, she was reverted back to her original annoying character and so on but worse.
In episode 27, I know why rin wants to protect towa and setsuna because she's there mother but she makes this over dramatic and whiny speech as she wants sesshomaru, who is her husband, to kill her to protect them.
When she confronts kirinmaru, she pathetically tries to fight him, someone with no kind of power at all and no combat training is going to take on a very powerful beast king yokai who can instantly kill her as she is all talk and no action.
When rin finally meets towa and setsuna together closely, instead of hugging them immediately she decides to wait not like moe, ms higurashi, and kagome who did despite the circumstances.
Even after zero tried multiple times to kill towa and setsuna and terrorized them, rin still wants to save zero who ended up committing suicide by riku anyway.
2. Appearance and Age
Despite what the creators of yashahime tried to explain through jaken and tree of ages that rin is 18 and later 32, she is actually 15 and later 29.
The true creator, Rumiko Takahashi, explained databooks and interviews that rin was 7-8 years old but disgsting sessrin shippers want to ignore it and agree with yashahime creators.
The timeline of rin's age in order. In inuyasha, rin was 7-8, in the 3 year time skip of the final episode of the final act she is 11, in since then is 11 and 1/2 but yashahime said that 18 years have passed so 11 plus 18 is 29.
Despite yashahime falsely claiming she is 32, majority of the time makes rin look like she was still 11 and sometimes the exact age as towa and setsuna.
3. Marriage
rin's marriage to sesshomaru is creepy and disgusting as he knew her since she was 7-8 years old. Rumiko Takahashi said in interviews and databooks that sesshomaru and rin have a father-daughter relationship. rin should've been with kohaku because they are close in age and have great interactions with each other. The sick reason for the yashahime creators pairing sesshomaru and rin together was because they wanted sesshomaru to have hanyos and rin is the only female that wasn't taken, has some kind of relationship with him, and is alive. They could've made Kaname Kururugi and Janis canon in yashahime and created a story where one of them returned to the feudal era and been with him or created a human female character for him but instead they choose someone that was like a daughter to him.
In yashahime, sesshomaru and rin's relationship is basically the same in the original except rin's is less rebellious and more obedient. rin still calls him 'lord sesshomaru' and doesn't see herself as his equal or even his wife as seen with her conversations with towa and setsuna, she refers to them as 'sesshomaru's daughters' and not both of theirs. sesshomaru doesn't see rin as his wife as he continues to give commands to her like she's a dog.
Ex. ordering her to stay in the tree of ages, him waking and orders her to follow him, orders her to stay and watch closely of him and kirinmaru fight, and in the last episode he orders her to follow him.
sesshomaru doesn't even take care of the towa and setsuna, especially when they were babies as he doesn't even change their diapers and rin just made excuses for him saying 'changing diapers doesn't suit lord sesshomaru' and dumbed her down.
4. Sudden Change
In the yashahime series, rin worried about towa and setsuna and was even willing to sacrifice her life for them in the last episode with a conversations with them she completely changed.
rin was worried about kohaku and kagura but she had said to towa and setsuna 'since they're hanyos she's sure they'll more hardships and they'll be attacked by strange demons just for being the daughters of lord sesshomaru' while being cheerful and laughing.
While kagome, who is majority of the time an awful character, wife, and mother, who worried about moroha and wanted her out of debt immediately.

Wait a minute... O.o if it's SessRin, it's usually some sort of pedo allegations or something. Or you know .. the ol' ship war.. usually vs SessKagu or KohakuRin. No offense to them, all ships are valid and all fiction is just fiction after all.
Actually, I haven't been very invested in Inuyasha since 2010(?) when this blog was a InuKag, Inukik, and Narkik blog . but let me write a defend post for them since many attacks towards SessRin are from salty purists who cannot differentiate fiction from reality. And
I understand that reading comprehension has been very poor in the west, ppl keep bringing modern human moral standard to a story where the setting takes place in the feudal era or the fantasy era where many other races besides human exist soo...
Let the SessRin haters know that Sesshomaru is literally a dog demon so not only modern moral standards do not apply to him, it also does not exist because in feudal Japan, peasants usually marry as young as 16 y.o. (and Yashahime confirmed she marries him when she's an adult)
(don't get me talking about father-daughter relationship, grooming accusations and power balance because none of them are true at all. Especially when Sesshomaru never fed Rin, he told her to look food for herself. Parental figure PROVIDE basic needs for their child. Sesshomaru did not. They are just travelling companions who happened to saved each other before.)
Roasting SessRin over pedo debate is also useless because by the same logic, almost all Inuyasha ships are minor x adult , including InuKag, Inukik, Narkik , SessKago and even SessKagura (Inuyasha is 15 yo mentally but physically he is 150 yo. Anyway, Inuyasha is also a demon, modern moral does not apply to them)
(Inuyasha's age is confirmed in Inuyasha the Movie 3 where he was born in 1347. Sengoku-jidai aka the Japan warring period is the 15th century, 1543-1553)
Yes you did not read that wrong. Kagura is YOUNGER than Rin, literally! Kagura was created as Naraku's second incarnation AFTER Naraku gained the shikon no tama shards, which was originally in Kagome's body. Naraku waited 50 years after Kikyo's death for this power. So, Kagura is a one year old baby
Unironically InuKag InuKik and SessKagu and the rest are still valid ships despite the pedo-element because this is a story about demons who live in fantasy feudal era. And the most important point is, this is just a cartoon , no actual child or human is involved lmao

While exploring the Sakai docks, Rin encounters a face from her brother-in-law's past.
This version of Shiori is from on the Yashahime manga, where's she a demon slayer based out of the port of Sakai. Her power here is also canon to the manga.

At the docks, she’s introduced to Shiori; demon slayer of the seas. Amazingly, she knows Inuyasha, and they discuss him and his older brother amidst seagulls and laboring sailors.
“My mother was like you,” Shiori tells her, using her sonic powers to speak directly into Rin’s mind. The advantage of being part bat. “A human peasant loved by a daiyokai.”
Rin doesn’t know this Shizu, but walks in her footsteps and admires her for that.
“Like Inuyasha, I’m a hanyo but I’m second to neither yokai nor human.”
It’s a sentiment Rin knows her children will prove true as well.

The one TINY silver lining of the cashgrab fanfiction show to me is that more people, even if they didnt ship it before, are finally acknowledging the romantic subplot Sesshomaru and Kagura had in canon. For years a lot of people in the fandom acted like the Sesskagu dynamic wasn't important, wasn't romantic or just flat-out ignored it even though it's a major part of both their arcs (especially because they're supporting characters and have sporadic chapter appearances compared to the main cast). An incarnation of Naraku developing feelings for one of Naraku's sworn enemies? That sworn enemy feeling true grief and compassion for the first time because he lost her? Their relationship is still so underrated, but it's nice to see some more people appreciating it and talking about it so long after the series ended because it was always one of my favorite things from the manga
It took me a while to answer this because I was not sure if I even wanted to. As far as I am concerned Yashahime is dead and buried. The Only - and I mean ONLY - part of that show that I acknowledge is Moroha and nothing else. Never mind the fact that I block any Sessrin blog that comes up under the IY tags almost as fast as I block inucest.
But as for the shipping question...
I don't think it's necessarily right that Yashahime made more people acknowledge the idea of shipping Kagura with Lord Fluffy. Instead I think it's due to the show's damaging portrayal of sessrin. People who were once indifferent to the ship suddenly became grossed out. It's one thing to occasionally hear about a bunch of people online going gaga for what sounds like a pedo ship. It's entirely another to actually *SEE* that pedo ship on TV.
Then, there are the people who originally enjoyed the ship but now have to deal with a toxic shipping community. Which I've heard has potentially progressed into a cult since Yashahime. I can understand how that will turn fans off from the ship.
As far as my opinion about the relationship between Sesshoumaru and Kagura, I feel it's very complicated and would be way to long of a dissection to put on this post. Maybe I'll post it separately.

Not to start anything but to clear up your post- it is currently true. The number of famworks that sessrin has is several hundred more fanart submissions on pixiv (one of the main ways to judge a ship's popularity in Japanese fandom) than inukag, and its just... a really popular ship in the Japanese fandom in general. Inukag will orobably retake it over time, but there is more sessrin JP fanart and content in general at the present moment than inukag. Even when inukag eventually retakes it, it'll probably stay at the #2 spot, or maybe #3.
Someone who knows more about this than me might chime in, but I guess that because Yashahime and sessrib being made "official" happened so recently, it only makes sense that it caused a surge of fanarts and vocal fans in general. That, and considering Yashahime made Rin the mom but still gave her and Sesshomaru barely any romance and next to no promotion of the two as a couple, fans have to resort to fanarts to make up for it and actually enjoy any "content" of them 🤷 A problem inukag never had, lol.

the obsession with "the canon" bothers me. like when the inukags go around repeating that the backstory inukik eps are filler. they claim only manga is canon but in yashahime manga, a lot of them hate sessrin but consider inukag scenes canonical. nobody knew what "canon" was during inuyashas peak and everyone loved filler bc for example the miroku/sango episode with the guy who wants to marry sango is not canon and everyone likes it. i think its an excuse to put down inukik and its shippers
It's useless. They can't break InuKik, as you can see. We have the right to love InuKik and Kikyo and they have no right to say no to us.
For me this is so funny. They say the manga is canon, but when it comes to InuKik they deny so many facts. YashaHime is not canon, the author himself confirmed it, it is a "What if" manga. The author of this manga wrote this in Japanese and ENGLISH on twitter. They can claim a lot, but it doesn't mean that their words are valid and true! You care too much about what they say. Let them say, most of them are lies! If they say that the scenes in Yashahime are canon, then let them think so, but the reality is completely different!
Canon ships are not always a good choice. Just because it's canon doesn't mean it's the only right choice. People can't force you to like what you don't like.

Not everyone has to like inukag. But everyone SHOULD hate sessrin.
Absolutely. It’s the one thing I see a lot of ships uniting on. There’s a popular statement going around that the InuKik shippers support SR and I can tell you, as an InuKik fan, that simply isn’t true.
Kikyo, just like Kagome and inuyasha, gets twisted around so that she (or at least her likeness) takes a backseat to SR and if she’s not shown to be supporting them, she’s made to look like the villain yet again. Let the woman REST.

Well, they surely don't even know the true definition of grooming and are just using it to make themselves seem morally superior. Most have also never opened history books to complain about the age differences in stories set during feudal periods... Moreover, once I went directly to see the tumblrs of some of these people are clearly against these two ships and... either "neutral" team with lots of publications on the greens, or simply team greens.
