In case sinners are lurking, do not answer. But there's new Inuyasha merch on amiami, and... It's KohRin and hints of SessKik. Heck, kohrin is the only really showed one, it's kind of hilarious, I like inukag, but not even they or mirsan have anything..!
Oh don't worry I'm practically living on my own now and at this point got nothing to lose.
I actually forgot to post it here but yes, isn't it great? Though inugang did get stuff along them, which I'll show you in a minute. If anything they all look like this Big OP family hahaha. Hells, they did even a KogKag merch on the new stuff. Which made my friend so happy.
What I find really interesting though is that if Jaken is the Dad like they keep saying, why did she call Sessh "Hogosha" instead of the other, and then Jaken has been described as her babysitter? It's even on the website. Shouldn't Jaken be the hogosha then? *Cough* Such mystery~ hmmm.
Then you got Sesshomaru here (especially after the HnY anime ended) getting even more paired with Kikyo, along another literal hogosha. Specifically Kohaku's(before Sessh took him under his wing). It's like they know Sesshomaru is supposed to be her parental guardian and "pairing him up" with Kikyo(who's also one) is supposed to help show that. The cafe promotion where it's pretty much confirmed that Kikyo's depiction in it, it's supposed to present she's like interested in Sessh was like the PEAK of wiping the slate clean to me among other things.
Now you got this and it's just wow. SR doesn't exist at all. Especially, "adult Rin". Like look at this Sesskik family ❤️. Look at the Inukag gang 🔥. Everyone.
It's amazing.
Oh it's not just that. If they're depicting Rin. They seemingly don't want to leave her alone and they either bring Jaken or Kohaku recently. It's like damage control at finest. I love it though. If anything this new koharin with Papamaru merch is worthy of investment.
Though as much as I love Sesskik and InuKag, as much I love this food, finding out about the Sesskik drama CD, the interview where she mentions his type being her, the mentions along evidence of Rumiko having Sesskik at least cross her mind once with help from the Sesskik fandom (both western and asian) AND the idea of completely officialized Sesskik would've been great cause they deserve the world lol. I will say this.
If they want to scrub this stain clean. I dunno bring Kagura content too. Even if she's not even my true cup of tea or ship her with him, but I understand she's not the only favorite. Whether you consider their relationship romantic or just of care. She was important to Sesshomaru as well. Like just a thought, Bandai/Sunrise? 🤷🏻♀️

Actual sessrin content was super low in this chapter beyond happily smiling at eachother- but let's be real, that's enough for us, isn't it?
What REALLY stood out and mattered was Rin talking to Towa and Setsuna in this chapter! I saw some people commenting on her being "childlike" in this chapter, but actually reading it, its perfect!
But it's Rin, so ofc it's perfect!

I was asked recently why I disliked yashahime. It made me list many many reasons. Most important being the ruining of Inuyashas perfect ending.
To clarify, I don't have strong opinions on SessRin. Mainly because it was not portrayed as romantic in Inuyasha, and ended with rin being raised by Kaede. I do have a problem with how it was portrayed though.
If Rin was going to be romantically involved with Seshomaru, any kids they had should have been significantly younger than kagome and inuyashas kids.
Flashbacks of their relationship changing should have also been present. You can't just have a man become involved with someone he took care of as a child without massive change.
Rin should have plenty of development of said change. She should be expanded upon in a way that she feels like the same character grown up. This is a young girl who was consistently compared to Kagome, who no doubt was cared for by Kagome, and your going to tell me she's just a helpless damsel that had to be sealed in a tree? Sorry no.
Even with that, I still am not fond of SessRin. I think it's a weird ship tbh.
Also Kagome and Imuyasha allowing themselves to be trapped for over a decade was stupid. Sango and Miroku would have saved them if they didn't manage to escape by themselves.
The idea that Koga would raise the inukag kid is stupid. Sango and Miroku would raise the inukag kid. Period.
The sacred jewel prophecy thing was stupid
In no way would Seshomaru ever not just kill someone he deemed a threat.
Point being, sequels that try to exist by ruining characters from the existing show bug me.

InuHaru week day 1: Anniversary of us
14 years ago today we first met. our lives would be so different if we never met each other. It’s hard to think where we would be if we would of never met. I’d rather not think about it. I’d rather think about now and about us forever and be so grateful to have met you and have you in my life.💕
It’s Inuyasha and Harumi’s anniversary of when they first met!🥰 I decided that instead of celebrating one day I thought I’d dedicate a full week to them (even though every day is dedicated to them lol 😆) but this week is special. I thought about doing a special week for InuHaru and I thought the week of when they first met would be perfect. I was inspired by SessRin week and the other ships weeks people have come up with. I decided to use some prompts from other ships weeks and incorporate them into my ship week. No better way to celebrate my beautiful couple then a special week just for them and their love for each other. I drew every day beforehand so I can work on other things till the next day comes and I can post the prompt for that day. I’m so excited to do my first InuHaru week and I hope to keep doing it from now on. Hope you like it! ✨😁✨💕

Ever since Sessrin became canon, the antis have just lost the plot- like, literally- and are copium spamming Sesskag on r/Yashahime and r/Inuyasha and, because the best opinions are unsolicited, here's mine: no.

The thing with Literature and canon is, if you didn't see it, it didn't happen. That logic obv doesn't work in real life, but we're in Imagination Land rn. Canonically, Sess discovered the magic of empathy and, after roughly a year of travelling together, left Rin with Kaede's village. His whole thing was giving her a sense of agency and human companionship. But not once do we, the audience, see him do or say anything lascivious towards her.
What if I said, "I can't believe you guys would support a bank robber! Inuyasha prob wiped out someone's life savings!" you guys would be like, bitch, where?! Exactly. Honestly, it says something about a fan or audience member that they can stir themselves into a froth over a headcanon.
I think it reflects a lot of American Calvinist-inherited purity culture versus the total not-that of feudal era Japan too. There's only so deep you can compare sexual mores before you start realizing you're comparing apples to oranges. If you'd like a baby-level intro, YouTuber Linfamy does super entertaining breakdowns of life in early Japan.
Idk. I've been a fan since my childhood, and while Yashahime isn't perfect to me, that's ok, and I *am* super happy that Sess gets a more in-depth redemption arc.

Lmao I ship KaguKik bc of Yashahime. Kagura deserves better than a nonce who’s gonna give her bloodied clothes to a 15 year old, and Kikyo is the walking embodiment of perfection, so I thought why not give Kagura a gf?
My lesbian ass always read her as more sapphic coded anyway.

Whatever complaints I have about Yashahime (and I have many), Setsuna truly was a perfect Sessrin daughter. She is absolutely what I imagined a child of Sesshomaru and Rin to be.
Towa seems like an afterthought to me. I started out really liking her. There was definitely potential, but I tend to think of her as a Higurashi more than Sesshomaru and Rin’s daughter. Maybe that’s what she had to be to make this plot “work.”

The bond between a girl and the magical sword that brought her back from the dead can be so special.

Rin’s wasn’t the first soul resurrected by Tenseiga, but it was the first by Sesshomaru’s hand. Never one to show compassion for another, he’d still unsheathed the heavenly sword to revive her. A blade, a tool to cut and sever, had instead connected, forging an unbreakable bond between them.
When she was unwittingly sacrificed to facilitate the sword’s growth—a complete meidō at the almost permanent cost of her life—the link was sealed. That the perfected technique was ultimately bequeathed to Inuyasha didn’t matter. Not to Rin.
They were kindred spirits, her and Tenseiga. Cast-off’s in search of salvation.

Sessrins are big mad and salty that InuKag is ACTUALLY canon compared to their crack pedoship so that’s why they feel the need to flex on InuKags by continuously bringing up Kikyo as some sort of lame-ass attempt at a “gotcha.”

And they’re too brain-dead to understand that the whole InuKagKik triangle was a lot more complicated than they realize (though tbf the anime is partially responsible for putting more emphasis on the love triangle, making Kagome more petty for comedy, and Inuyasha wishy-washy). I’ve noticed that SessRinners, anti-InuKag people in general really, also have this bizarre notion that you can’t love more than one person in your lifetime and you can’t fight or challenge each other EVER, or you’re toxic and abusive which is ???? Do y’all not know how relationships work?
That’s probably why SessRinners love how Yashahime depicted their ship because it is clear that Rin wasn’t allowed to consider anyone else but Sesshomaru as a partner. They think Sesshomaru being all Rin knew is a good thing. They think her not challenging or arguing with him, even when his actions put their children in danger is a good thing, because they take it as a sign of complete and total trust. They think her personality revolving around nothing but Sesshomaru is a good thing. Once Rin was outside the tree, she showed more concern for Sesshomaru then her daughters that she’s not seen in 14 years, and SessRinners feel that’s a good thing.
InuKag was definitely not perfect and there are some parts of it that have not aged well, but I’ll still take it how it was depicted over how SessRin was depicted.
