Why have I only just realised today the "you know, I know" quote is featured in multiple songs : serendipity, like crazy, people pt 2. Do you think this is a coincidence or does it have a deeper meaning ? PS. Keep up the nice blog! It's nice to see someone talk about their bond in a mature en respectful way and actually based on facts which they wanted to share with us.

Hi anon! I’ll admit that I’m not very good at lyrics analysis, so please bear with me.

Yes, “you know, I know”—or some variation of that phrase—appears in Serendipity, Like Crazy, and People pt 2. And of course we first heard it in a yoonmin context during the March 2016 live celebrating Yoongi’s birthday.

If it was just a matter of Yoongi using the phrase, that would be one thing. Yoongi likes to use interconnected lyrics in his songs. For instance, People pt 2 borrows phrases from eight, Savage Love, Outro: Tear, and Fake Love. There’s a great analysis here. The way his work connects is really amazing.

I think the real wildcards are Serendipity (written by Namjoon and others), and Like Crazy (written by Jimin and others). We have ten years worth of songs, but all of the “you know, I know” phrases connect to Yoongi and/or Jimin? That would be an incredible coincidence if it wasn’t purposeful.

So…there are really only three options:

1. The use and reuse of that phrase is purposeful and has meaning

2. It’s a statistically incredible coincidence

3. The use and reuse of that phrase is purposeful but has no meaning

I think we can eliminate option 3. We know how thoughtful both Yoongi and Jimin (and all of the members!) are in regards to their music. It’s hard to imagine them going to the effort of including this phrase just for the hell of it.

That leaves us with two other options. From a purely objective/statistical point of view, I think option 1 wins.

But deciding if it is purposeful or not is only half the battle. What does it mean?!

I think we can go back to the first time the phrase is used for help with this. In the live, Yoongi asked each person to say a short message to him for his birthday. Hobi went first and said thank you. Jimin went second and shyly said “you know.” Yoongi seemed to immediately understand him and quickly said “I know” before moving on to Tae.

I think the meaning is that these two have a true understanding of each other. And there are things that they can’t say in front of us, that they don’t need to say because they both already have that deep understanding.

I’m not sure if any of that helps or is even interesting. 😂 But those are my thoughts.

I just can't watch the Serendipity MV without thinking of KM. The date in the corner, the sun, Jimin's eye (like JK's eye in DNA), the calico cat (sudden 🐾 on Twitter), the colorful swirl in Jimin's eye (again like the DNA opening in JK's eye. These are also tied as the trailer and title song), the eclipse, the moon and Ooooh it's so YELLOW 💛

How much influence do you think Jimin had on this MV? Or is is just yet another "coincidence" even though he literally starts the song saying it isn't 😂

Lol I wish I could be more fun and theorizing with you on this one, but I'm not on board with any of these theories 😅 but that's just me!

For start, I too, was originally confused and thought the date in the corner was a nod to JK from Jimin. But that's been corrected and talked about in this post here

SO with all these things in mind... the connections with the Serendipity MV and the DNA MV were probably done very purposefully by the directors as a way to connect the music videos for the album. The Intro song MV and the Title Track MV. It being jikook who both have it pan into their eyes is simply because Jimins solo is the intro and JK starts off DNA. If a different member had the DNA opening, it probably would've panned into their eye instead. The calico cat was something that Namjoon came up with for the lyrics and that quickly became Jimins favorite part of the song and one he resonated with and started calling HIMSELF a calico cat. The paw prints showing up were because Jimin calls JK his puppy prince and that is a totally seperate thing. Plus the paw prints started showing up in 2016, pre Serendipity anyway. The songs were written with nothing to do with jikook specifically but to convey the overall message that BTS were wanting to tell in the album as a whole, and to kick off the story they wanted to tell through their Trilogy of albums as well. So I don't think those connections mean anything other than connections to the album.

All the yellow could simply be about how it Warm and uplifting colors. Plus matching Jimins blonde hair at the time, or that its one of Jimis favorite colors. Lol I don't think Jimin made many choices in the efforts of what happened in the MV. He stated that his favorite part of filming was with the cat, and his least favorite was showing his feet off and that he even tried to talk the director out of it at first, but he insisted and Jimin really doesn't mind. He then just worried about wanting to make sure his feet were extra clean 🤣

The reason I connect Serendipity to jikook is because they do it themselves, not because of any hints in the Song or music video dedicated it to each other. But because AFTER the song came out, they claimed it as their own. Which I talk about in this post:

Fandom at large isn't going to recognise anything. Put shipping aside completely, jikook enlisting together has to be one of the clearest and most obvious signs that they are closest pair in BTS and yet you can see that that made absolutely no impact on anyone except shippers.

If Namkook had enlisted together we would've gotten a thousand jokes about JK's crush. If vmin had enlisted together we would've gotten millions of proclamations of soulmates soulmating. If Taekook had enlisted together then even apart from the shippers we wouldve gotten every army to nod thoughtfully about partners in crime. Same goes for Jihope. Yoonmin enlisting together would've gotten thousands of husbands chants and talk about Yoongi protecting Jimin during military training or some idiocy like that. Jinkook would've had everyone sobbing into their hankies about JK and his Jin hyung and him raising JK etc.

Jikook enlisting together? Some half hearted wow cools coupled with a let's see if this is actually real with some fake 'they had to enlist together because they have tattoos' news sprinkled into the mix. People got more excited after hearing they were possibly joining Jins unit but the response is so muted. If any other pair had opted to be companions it would've been proof of their friendship but the minute it was jikook, it turned into a stop making military enlistment about shipping discussion. Everyone in this fandom including JK and Jimin's own stans are allergic to jikook. The silver lining is they get away with the so much because of this so I guess it works out for the two of them.

When people discovered that jikook would be in the same center as Jin, I saw pjms I follow saying "Oh, Jimin won't be alone", "At least he will have someone there with him"....

A whole Jungkook exists!

Perhaps nothing will change then? And by the time jikook get out of ms people (the few that acknowledge this) will have forgotten? Maybe that's part of the plan.

I was going through some of your asks and your responses but what i want to mention now is something I don’t think you taekookers have realized yet or maybe you have but just have not been able to admit it.

So Jk will most probably support Tae. He might sing a few of his songs on Live and depending on Tae’s promotion, Jk might show up for him just as he showed up for Jk. But…….for your own peace of mind, don’t expect Jk to go as far as he went for Jimin. Jk won’t do that. I’m not someone who sees the future to know ofcourse but i am talking based on precedents. Now let me ask you, have y’all ever seen Jk hype Tae up as he does Jimin? Have u ever paid attention to the members while they were reacting to MV’s? Did u ever see Jk hype anyone up as much as he did Jimin? Short answer no! And b4 u get me wrong it’s not cuz i think Jk is dating Jimin no! It cuz Jk has made it clear only a million times that Jimin inspires him. He loves the music Jimin makes. He admires Jimin’s work ethic, he loves his art and in his own words, Jimin is his catalyst! Jk has sang every single one if Jimin’s songs except alone and Face off. He wasn’t necessarily doing it to be supportive, probably just cuz he actually enjoys watching Jimin. Seeing that youtube recommended a funny video of BTS teasing Jimin, his algorithm must be filled with Jimin content cuz he probably watches alot of it. He started since 2016, excitedly singing Jimin’s songs on his Lives and Vlogs. He knows a majority of Jimin’s songs by heart, some because he was literally always there with him for rehearsal after everyone else including his “boyfriend” had left (serendipity, filter) so Jk knows these songs.

Y’all may have not noticed it but even though Taekook share their songs with each other first, Jk doesn’t seem to know the lyrics to Tae’s songs. Hell he literally said it. On his birthday live last year, he tried singing along to “Christmas Love” but turned the song off and said he didn’t know the lyrics. On his last live, he played “winter bear” but only hummed along to it cuz he probably doesn’t know the lyrics that well and he didn’t even wait for the song to end b4 he turned it off. This is not me trying to be offensive, i’m just stating facts.

Notice how pple have never really had to ask for Jk to listen to Jimin’s song b4 he did? He did it on his own always, with the only exception being “letter” all the other songs he listened to, no one asked him to do it. No one asked him about Jimin’s album b4 he asked us to wait for something amazing dropping at midnight! Which was SMF pt 2 teaser! No one asked him for a spoiler b4 he played the guitar to the tune of “letter” the night b4 Jimin’s album dropped! No one asked him to watch Jimin on Suchwita! No one asked him to react to JM’s mv’s, listen to Angel pt 1, watch Jimin on Lee mujin, sing along to like crazy. He did all those on his own. And notice how he always knew all or almost all of the lyrics? That is because when Jk does that, it is cuz that is what he wants to do! That is what he is able to concentrate on. That is what interests him. Not cuz it is FS. If he doesn’t do the same things for Tae, it’s not cuz he doesn’t want to or cuz he is waiting for the right moment or cuz the company is suppressing TK, it is because he just didn’t think about it. Yes Jk supports the members by playing their songs on his lives, usually one song or two so that’s why i said we can expect him to do something like that too for Tae but nowhere near what he did for Jimin cuz Tae’s music probably doesn’t interest Jk as much as Jimin’s and yoongi! His favourite music duo are yoonmin and u can tell by how much of their songs he knows by heart.

Ofcourse i could be wrong and Jk would shock us all, but honestly don’t expect it so you don’t start scrambling for excuses when he doesn’t do as much as he did for Jimin. And it’s not cuz he prefers Jimin to Tae, no! It’s just cuz he relates to vmin in different ways. I know you are not ready for this convo but Jk isn’t dating Taehyung, but that’s not the bone of contention now. My point is that, u may see Jk hangout with Tae more but the truth is Jimin has always been and will probably always be that person who inspires him the most when it comes to his career. For some weird reason he kinda enjoys taking about Jimin the most. Man literally got inspired to go work after watching Jimin content so Jimin clearly stirs something in him. Jk is not sitting there thinking “oh let me makes sure to do this so pple can see i am supportive” no! He does what he wants and he might go live and not think to play Tae’s song until one of you ask him to do it in the comments or he might. But him not doing the same thing he did for Jimin doesn’t mean he doesn’t support or care for Tae. Hope y’all know that.

I'm not really a vminie, other than that I enjoy their bond and sometimes blink several times in amazement at them, but if I could maybe build a little on what your last anon asked and maybe throw a few of my big vmin eyebrow raises into your ask box to maybe start a discussion? I honestly think it's really healthy for jikook shippers/believers/whatevers to get into the weeds on vmin ship tumblr or twt. You could pick any ship for what I'm about to explain, but taekookers tend to be explicitly nasty, yoonminers just straight up explicit, and the rest of the ships just don't have the presence to create a good deep dive (except for maybe namjin? who wants namjin deep dive blog recs?) But vminies are mostly normal. They think their ship is in love (or at least used to-- huge drop off in those blogs and twt accounts posting in the past year or so, for obvious reasons) and they base their theories around that. They're rarely super disparaging towards the other members, and the vmin bond is so open that they don't need to really create insane theories. They just vibe. They also seem to be handling the more recent proof that their ship isn't real extraordinarily well without falling into delusion. I would say none of the other big bts ships would do the same. (and I have proof tkkers wouldn't). But for anyone who really thinks Jikook is real (I'm like 75/25 myself), I think it's valuable to look another narrative, with a lot of genuine contradictions in it to the 'standard' jikook one, straight in the face and take in how perspective can change something. It's healthy. These spaces so quickly fall into echo chambers.

off the top of my head, my big vmin eyebrow raises:

vmin have zero physical boundaries. open affection, sometimes truly bafflingly so. all over eachother and almost never pull away. (jikooker: of course they don't pull away, they're not hiding anything. do you see the way jimin leaned so naturally into jk but then saw the camera--. vminie: vmin go 2 seconds without touching eachother challenge failed)

they literally acted out being boyfriends on more than one occasion (jikooker: it was s roleplay! you know how tae is! vminie: they're trying to tell us!)

4'oclock, scenery, and sweet night. 4'oclock is explicitly about jimin and has been confirmed so on MULTIPLE occasions by the members. That in and of itself is insane (i wrote a long long letter to the moon one night but it wasn't as beautiful as you PLUS namjoon's moonlight movie ref, whew), but if you then look at the lyrics to scenery and sweet night the lyrical parallels and common themes paint a pretty crazy picture. Vastly beyond any song jikookers have ever managed to tie to their ship, except for maybe the serendipity i am you you are me. (jikooker: tae is just a lazy songwriter of course he's using the same themes, you don't know his live. vminie: LOOK AT HIM ALL HIS SONGS ARE JIMIN CODED HES CRAZY)

I also think jikookers could use a solid rewatch of older bangtan content. I'm watching BV2 right now and the amount of time that Jimin spends hanging off Tae/they spend together is truly incredible. In Jikook spaces all I got out of it was a few scattered fragments of interaction (Jungkook spends WAY more time gravitating towards Seokjin in Hawaii at least by my read)

Do I think vmin is real? No, for obvious reasons. But I think paying attention to the way a ship can generate these narratives is important for all shippers.

Co-signed 100%. I always find discussing Jikook and Vmin and the difference in their dynamics really interesting. What I covered isn’t anywhere near the level of discussion I could go into, and a few followers I’ve exchanged DMs with know what I’m talking about lol.

I also need to watch the BV series again and have been planning to. It’ll be nice to watch them with fresh eyes.

Sorry I don't want to sound rude but your minimoni post is the only one you made about Face. If you talk more about minimoni than jimin as artist and soloist you're discrediting jimin. "Their combined force", well..Face is not a minimoni "work". Other people have credits, they helped Jimin too but nobody cares. And jimin worked more than namjoon for this album, it's different from Serendipity. And I'm tired to see people here and on twitter talking about minimoni and yoonmin and being happy for these ships when you should be happy for jimin only. If namjoon wasn't in the credits you would have been excited for Jimin's album anyway or the album is more beautiful for you thanks to namjoon? Think about this.

No worries. You don't sound rude at all. I haven't made any other posts about Face because everyone else has already said what needs to be said and they said it waaaaay better than I can put together. Also, I'm really slow at updating.

I've already bought 16 albums in the Weverse US store (so I don't even qualify for the fancall 😫) and this was before the tracklist came out. I also preordered copies of Face on Target, Walmart, Amazon, and just about any store I can to make his album count for the charts. I even donated to Jimin fund accounts on Twt so others can help support our Chimchim. Don't even get me started on collecting points on all the voting apps. So, I haven't gotten to posting about Face other than making a Minimoni post but I've definitely shown my support in other ways.

Ofc I'm ecstatic about Jimin releasing his solo album, but I can also be thrilled to see RM in the credits. Namjoon just happens to write all my favorite BTS songs, so it's exciting in the same way people were excited to see photos of Jimin with other producers. It doesn't take away from the fact that this is Jimin's album and Jimin did all the heavy lifting.

I wasn't trying to make it sound like NJ did half the work in Face or it was some kind of collaboration. Take Promise for example. To me, that clip of them working on the lyrics together is one of the most endearing Minimoni moments and it doesn't diminish the fact that it's Jimin's song even though Jimin said NJ helped a lot. Maybe NJ was just giving advice or tweaking lyrics here and there for Jimin and still got credited on Face as he did for Promise. I just think it's really sweet that they clearly got to work together, and NJ probably gave him a lot of moral support because he's the best hyung 😊

Stay tuned for March. I'll probably write more about Face... or I might not if I die and go to heaven after hearing the album.

Why Serendipity is Yoonmin - The Breakdown (The Story) Part 3

I’m back at it again with theories. Read Part 1 HERE And Part 2 HERE

Also can we just appreciate that gif. How J-Hope is like HOLY FUDJDKJKSHK. And Jimin is like, Oh fuck babe he got us. And Suga is just like “Damn right bitch.” with his lil smirk. Also bonus he’s covered in the word LOVED.

Anyway! To recap the Themes:

1. Colours (To me)

White- Jimin

Blue- Suga

Yellow- Their Love

People have already talked about the blue mould thing. It ties with Suga’s hair and the fact he told Non-no that blue was the colour that represented him. The yellow is the colour of their relationship as they both agreed in that interview. I also think Jimin was very angelic and pure in the eyes of a lot of people so white makes sense.

Side Note: I noticed some of the lyrical lines from Serendipity have slipped into Yoongi’s verses or have already been in Yoongi’s verses both as Suga and as Agust D: “U know I Know”- “I know” was in big letters behind them when they rapped Tony Montana together. Also the whole idea of blooming is in some Agust D tracks etc.

This is sang for a higher cadence for a reason. They’re having sex. His voice is hitching, there are now two types of desperation there, a sexual and the need to make Yoongi feel his love. That's it.

The winds (Coming through the window) are changing. The colours are coming into focus and this feels a lot more real life. Instead of a hazy glow, the White the blue and the yellow are all coming together as one and the picture is forming beautifully clear. Now they both know what they want and what this is, it makes it easier to be together in the real world. They now both feel safe and supported. And this mean they balance each other out. And look how happy Jimin is for it. Yoongi is shaking and changing his whole world and he loves it.

“Since the creation on the universe, everything was destined.”

He’s basically saying to the audience now, since the very beginning it was always going to be them. They were always meant to be. They were made to be together. They were made to love each other. Or even in a more meta way. Since the creation of this song it was destined to be theirs. The universe is their universe. The one they share together. There’s a reason this song feels so intimate, because it is.

Purple=BTS world. Yellow= Yoonmin love. BTS Started and their love followed immediately. Also bonus for Jimin falling as if he’s falling in love.

With the strength of their love behind him. Jimin is recognising the past but...

Looking to the future. He is realsing their love to the universe in thanks but also, whereas before he kept their love for him. He’s giving some of it to Yoongi to. He’s giving it to his happy blue sky, his blue mould.

It’s self explanatory, whats most important here is the imagery. Because everything has been said now. And all Jimin wants is to love Yoongi.

There is a tinge of blue and white. Jimin feels like a new him. And sparks are flying as his world trembles on with Yoongi around him. He is looking directly at him with those sensual eyes. It literally screams “I’m yours.”

Now he’s not closing the window on their love, he’s just covering it over with a curtain so they may have their privacy. The yellow is there. Much calmer than before, he is looking out to the future.

Self explanatory...but the visual:

Even as Yoongi has to leave their bed, go do business , The light still shines on Jimin, who feels very much stable and supported to be himself. And look at the blanket under the chair. If it wasn't important why would they needlessly put it there. The foundation of his self strength is that he is love without exception, he is eternally loved. Because they are meant to be and the universe wants it.

He whispers it to the camera as he stares into it. He is whispering to Yoongi now because he want their love to be their and not the property of Bighit or the ARMY. He wants it to be theirs.

LOOOOOK. Look at how soft he is for Yoongi. This frame literally says. I am me and I am happy and it’s because of you. Let me love ya.

In short Serendipity is about them realising their love, being scared of their love, accepting they can’t change their hearts and learning to love themselves and find their place in the universe together. Now they have.

When have we seen these colour combos before huh? Look back to part 2, except its in reverse order they’re bringing it back to the purple, back to BTS. They’re bringing their news back to their bandmates.

Interesting tid-bit. In the very first scene we seem them, Jimin is wearing blue and yellow with white underneath. He’s wearing his love for Yoongi proudly. At the same time Yoongi is wearing white for Jimin. He too is showing who he belongs too, however he is shy about feelings so very minute yellow hints, he is much more private.

This bit is so beautiful. The blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. They’re there in the back ground and their love is a home they are building together, but that home still includes there family: RM, Jin, V, Kookie, J-Hooooope. They still belong next to them all. And the members think so too.

Matching colours and hand holding, Jimin’s blood flowing into Yoongi as if they were one? I mean...

Suga’s blue hair in the very first video after Serendipity. Blue to become the blue mould. Also side note can we talk about home soft and animated he is in this verse. Its so beautiful to see. Side-side note because I forgot! Thanks to @yayato for the reminder!: Yoongi told Non-No Mag the colour that represented him was blue. This builds even further on the fact that blue represents him in Serendipity.

COME THE FUCK ON! Their love is the yellow sun, Yoongi is the sky and Jimin is the grounding force that pulled them together.

Again if you think its all bullshit I understand and it couldn't all have happened EXACTLY like that but... if all this were somewhat true. Yoonmin are together, in love and BTS know it. They ship it. COMFIRMED <3
