Jimin’s birthday, 2013:
I’ve said it so many times, but Yoongi and Jimin were little magnets during debut era. The video is short, so please watch the whole thing for yourself.
All of the guys are affectionate, but look at the amount of time that Yoongi spends with his hands on Jimin, even if it’s just in a small/subtle way. It is nearly constant.

Yoonmin in BE-hind Story
8 things that stood out to me:
1. Before they even sit down, Jimin is talking about Yoongi.
Jk asks if this is the painting Yoongi made during In the Soop, and Jimin corrects him.
2. Jimin says he’s been drawing lately (oh?) and shows a photo from his phone of a bird…a Phoenix. He says he wasn’t planning on showing it, and Yoongi teases him.
3. Body language:
Also…time stamp 5:58…whatcha doin’ Yoongi? He goes from arms crossed to moving his hand toward Jimin to clenching his fist to putting his hands on his thighs. Jimin looks at the camera.
4. “How did you choose each field’s project manager?”
Yoongi says, “I personally wanted Jimin to be in charge of the overall stuff and participate a lot musically.”
Let’s think…why would this be important to Yoongi? Why would he choose Jimin? This moment is not necessarily romantic in nature at all, but it is one of the moments people have to ignore if they want to argue that Yoongi and Jimin aren’t close.
5. I wonder what happened to these songs that weren’t chosen. Also, look at Yoongi’s fond smile. I have no doubt he knows how hard Jimin worked.
6. About 20 mins in, Jimin punches his own thigh. I’ve seen people suggest he did this because Joon made a “how romantic” joke about Jin and Yoongi. Watching this moment again, I wonder if Jimin was having muscle cramps. We know he sometimes suffers from sore muscles (remember when Yoongi mentioned this to Taeyang during Suchwita?). Right after the punch, Jimin crouches/kneels, which can help stretch the leg muscles. I’ve seen athletes punch their own legs when suffering from muscle cramps, in an attempt to help loosen those muscles. Of course, we can’t know what Jimin is thinking in this moment, but this scenario seems more likely—based on what we do know—than a moment of jealous anger involving people he’s known and lived with for years.
7. Jimin reminisces about coming to Seoul. He says, “Anyway, I came to Seoul like that and made lots of friends, but I realize every year that the members are the only ones who will always be there for me. The other relationships just go away and then come back again.” Yoongi chimes in, “Yeah you could get tired of those things” (I assume he means tired of friends coming and going). Yoongi goes on to say:
I thought this was all very interesting considering this would have been not long after (?) Jimin had a falling out with his friends, as described in Face Off. We also know—because Jimin told us during Face era—that he discussed “human relationships” quite a lot with Yoongi.
8. Time stamp 25:16: Jimin reaches out to Jin (past Yoongi) and Yoongi reacts like he expects to hold Jimin’s hand. 🥹
I was a fairly new fan when this was released (201213), and it was one of the things that made me start paying more attention to yoonmin. Re-watching this now, in light of everything that happened in 2023, was really fascinating!

160521 live: bv1 era
Consider this just a little yoonmin crumb. As I’ve mentioned in the past, something doesn’t have to be a big deal™️ or “proof” to be worthy of mention. We can notice small things and appreciate them for what they are or file them away in case it becomes important later. Anyway…
I’ve been watching some lives from 2016, and I noticed a little moment from a live that they filmed during bon voyage.
I’m not going to act like I know what’s going on here, but something about this exchange caught my eye. To put it into context, this was about two months after “you know, I know.”
The topic of travel comes up, and Yoongi starts talking about how he thinks traveling is a good experience for people to have. Something about this really makes Jimin smile and he even looks off to the side and seems shy/smitten (?). He then turns to Yoongi and says, “I guess you felt a lot as you travel.” Yoongi doesn’t say much in response and the topic shifts to Tae’s sweater. (😂)
I’m not sure what this means, if anything, but it’s one of those moments where I feel like there’s more going on than what’s actually being said. Plus, Jimin looks so cute in his sunglasses and raincoat, and Yoongi is wearing his Y&M beanie (!) so I wanted an excuse to look at them.
