RWBY Christmas Tales
Pursuit of Death Part 1
Two cars drove out of control in the streets of downtown Kuroyuri. Both of them skidded along the road, swerving just outside of the Merchant Bank of Takara. The doors opened as a large group of thugs, all masked and armed, walked out. One of them drew a flashbang from his belt and tossed it at the guards. The guards quickly raised their guns, only to be blinded and shot at by the other thugs.
Thug 1: Hmph, too easy. Let's go. The boss is expecting a big withdrawal.
They strolled inside and the larger thug fired a warning shot, sending everyone into a panic. The leader pointed his gun at the staff.
Thug 1: Don't even think about calling security! One push of the button and you get a bullet to the head!
The bank worker hesiated and put his arms up. Several of the thugs started ambushing the customers, tying them in binds and dragging them against the wall. The leader of the gang turned his attention back to the banker, keeping a firm grip on his pistol.
Banker: W-What do you want?
Thug 1: I'm here for an early Christmas present. Me and the boys here would like a million Lien. Each. Do that, and we'll let you live. But if you try to call the cops on us, well, let's just say things will get really ugly.
The banker had no choice but to comply. He and the rest of the staff filled up ten bags with 1 million Lien and handed them over to the thugs. Outside of the building were several police cars of the Kuroyuri Police Squad, supervised by Police Sergeant Clover Ebi. Next to him was Senior Police Officer Hachiko.
Clover: What do we know about this, Hachiko?
Hachiko: It looks to be hostage situation, sir. They've demanded 10 million Lien, most likely unmarked.
Clover: *sigh* All that fuss for petty cash... and on Christmas Eve no less.
Meanwhile, atop a building just opposite the Takara Bank, leaned a figure dressed in black and purple. She was the infamous vigilante of Kuroyuri: Dark Huntress.
Dark Huntress: *places finger next to ear* Glynda, can you see any other entry points to the Takara Bank?
Glynda: There should one of two doors that lead to the roof. I'd recommend the one to your left. Good luck, Miss Belladonna.
Dark Huntress took a grapple gun from the right side of her belt and fired it at one of the railings. Activating a switch on top of the grapple, it tugged her sharply towards the building. Just before she could hit the railing, she jumped onto the roof. She retrieved her grapple gun and made her way towards the wall opposite adjacent to the door. Now was a good time to test out her new gadget; the explosive gel. She lightly sprayed over the wall and stood back. Pressing the detonator, the wall broke open and she stepped inside. Walking down the steps, Dark Huntress noticed the door barred. Beside it was a keypad, easily hackable. She took out a small, rectangular device; the cryptographic sequencer, and began to decode. Going through the various combinations, she was finally through and the door opened. Dark Huntress opened it to find the main lobby, where the thugs had the hostages cornered. The leader of the group was furious.
Thug 1: Who the hell called the cops?! Was it you?
Banker 2: No I didn't, I swear-
Thug 1: *hits banker* Don't lie to me! Oh that's it, ya dead!
The leader put his bullet on the trigger and was about to fire. However, as quick as a flash, the gun flew out of his hand. A fist landed in his face as Dark Huntresses glided down. The rest of the thugs were caught by surprise and she used that to her advantage. She grabbed her batarangs and threw all of them at six of the thugs. Dark Huntress went into action and attacked. Two of them were punched in the jaw and kicked to the side, while she hit two more with her cape as a distraction and beat them down furiously. The next two tried to attack her from behind but were elbowed in the chest and kicked down. The remaining four reached for their guns. Dark Huntress covered her mouth as she dropped a smoke bomb on the floor. In the confusion, they all started firing senselessly, terrifying the hostages even more. Dark Huntress began taking them down one by one. Punches, kicks, knees and elbows all made devastating impact and the thugs fell to the ground, bruised and disoriented. As the smoke cleared, Dark Huntress approached the hostages and asserted her claws. The hostages all closed their eyes in fear, only to realise that their binds had been cut loose.
Dark Huntress: *pants* Is everyone alright?
Civilian: Y-Yes. T-Thank you, Dark Huntress.
Dark Huntress: The cops are waiting outside. Go to them.
The civilians evacuated the building as the bankers put their money back in the safe and Dark Huntress bound the gang together. She raised her grapple gun and shot it at the railing, flying towards it. She exited the way she came in and heard a sinister laugh as soon as her foot touched the snow. She turned and looked up, her eyes shrinking with fear. It was a redhaired bull faunus with two, light blue eyes, wearing black and red armour. On his back, he carried a metal bō staff and two chokutō.
Dark Huntress: A-Adam?
Adam: I knew that would get your attention.
Dark Huntress: You planned the robbery?
Adam: That's right. I provided those fools with the bare minimum and it worked. You haven't lost your touch. Your tenacity, your fury. Just as when you first came to us. And tonight, it's just you and me.
Dark Huntress: *clenches fist*
Adam: Come on!

My process of drawing art that imitates the style of RWBY
(original from Reddit)
We have no idea what'll happen to RWBY, so I decided for some reason to go over the basics of how I draw characters that are hopefully in the likeness of the show's art style. I use paint(dot)net to draw my character art, from sketching to colouring, and I use Blender whenever I feel that a 3D background or scene fits the art.
My art is specifically based on the Autodesk Maya art style that is seen in Volume 7 and onwards, as well as in the Justice League x RWBY movies (the Maya styles of Volumes 4, 5 and 6 are slightly different). However, whenever it's necessary, I will also deviate from RWBY's art style in order to add additional details.
Sketching
Once I have an idea about what to draw, which can take a while to figure out. I begin to draw a sketch. I generally use multiple layers for different parts, so I use one layer for the eyes, one layer for the hair, and so on. I also use different colours for each layer if it's possible, just so it's easier to distinguish the different features. If the cumulative or overall sketch looks complete, I will remove extra lines and move on to outlining, though every now and then I make changes in later steps that will make the final result different from the initial sketch.
To replicate RWBY's style as closely as possible, I use screenshots from the show as reference and I made sure the starting sketch has a larger dimension (minimum height of 1440 pixels if drawing half-body art). I also made a very rough 3D character body model in Blender to help get the perspective right (or as correct as possible), for example if I want to figure out where exactly a piece of clothing should be or look like relative to the body. I also use additional image references, for example references with short hair or mid-length hair for my recent art of Weiss with shorter hair.
Tumblr media
Outlining
I begin to outline using thin lines, as well as small brushes for the outlines of the eyes. I also use separate layers for different features of the character and adjust the opacity/transparency if it's needed. For example, in RWBY, eyebrows covered by a fringe or strands of hair will still be visible, although their outlines will be less opaque.
For the hair, I use a dark colour related to a character's hair colour, such as dark yellow or gold if the character has light blonde hair. The outlines of clothing are also made to be less opaque so they would blend more with clothing colours that come later.
Tumblr media
Colouring
I put in colours after outlining is done, and I also use separate layers for different parts for the character. Once the colouring is done, I add in additional colours, such as a redder colour (relative to a character's skin tone) to add to the face or indicate blushing. For RWBY or Justice League x RWBY characters, I make use of default colours that are from concept arts or scenes with minimal environmental lighting. This is because it will be easier to make overall adjustments later down the road, especially if the final background involves a different hue or more environmental lighting.
I have a habit of fully colouring the eyes, up to adding bright white highlights to the eyes, before colouring the rest of the character. The eyes are coloured differently depending on who I am drawing. If I am drawing a pre-existing character such as Ruby, I also make use of default colours. Otherwise, I usually start with a base colour, usually a lighter colour, and then I imitate iris shading by adding layers of that colour with a darker tone or shade. I make the pupils black or a colour based on the base colour.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shading
I move on to shading the non-eye parts after all the colours are added. If I am drawing an existing RWBY character, I try to use the shade that is usually found with that character's model. Otherwise, I use a layer of either black or a shade based on the main hair colour, and I adjust the opacity to give the impression of a RWBY-like appearance.
Hair shading gets additional attention because they are usually softer. If you look at screenshots or scenes of RWBY, you might notice that the shading for clothing and skin have defined hard edges, while the same cannot usually be said for the hair. To imitate hair shading, I use erasers of large sizes to remove excess colours and create a softer appearance for the shading.
I may add additional shading to the irises and the white (sclera) of the eye depending on whether I feel like it or not. This sort of shading is usually not present with characters in the main RWBY series, while in the Justice League x RWBY movies, the eyes have additional shading.
Tumblr media
Background
I may use Blender to create a 3D background for my art. If I finish the character art first, which is often what happens, I will set up lighting in my environment based on how I shaded the character. The settings I use vary often (e.g. rendering with Eevee vs. rendering with Cycles), but what I did for my Weiss art was to use Cycle rendering for my scene, plus denoising with at least 120 samples, for RWBY-like quality. It should be noted that I have a slow computer, so too many samples will not only slow rendering down but will also be unnecessary for my needs.
(Technically Blender could be used create character models themselves. However, I draw the characters out still because I find it enjoyable, and it also gives me more control over some colours and features.)
Tumblr media
Putting it all together
Once everything is done, I move towards compositing and I prepare to put both the character art and background together. If the background involves environmental lighting, I will adjust the colours of the character art to reflect the lighting. For example, in my Weiss art, I adjusted the overall hue of Weiss to reflect the bluish lighting and atmosphere within the Schnee Manor.
I use paint(dot)net to put everything together, since it's a little easier to create a final composite image and make specific final adjustments that way. I also blur the background slightly to give the impression of distance/depth and direct a little more attention to the character.

Hello canonseeker, having another lying session in between impersonating women of colour on Reddit and Twitter? Wanted to adress 2 of the things this person has brought up that are categorically wrong.
I do not know in what kind of mysoginistic hellholes does Canonseeker spend his days, but most people, especially critics have praised the DC Yang design in the newest picture. In fact, Yang has received amazingly well in comparison to the others, especially WW.
Tumblr media
Many people have also stated that the muscles is very much part of the reason WHY they like that Yang design, as far as her breasts go people are half and half, of course, some are oggling them, while others are asking whether or not the size increase was really necessary.
As some additional proof, gathered a few quotes from one of the threads from the RWBY critics sub.
Tumblr media
The word "stacked" can be seen in two ways, but it seems that people are refering more to the muscles of Yang than her other assets.
I also wanted to touch upon the Raven Branwen claim.
Many critics of the show, have noticed and have called out how the show weirdly villainizes and does not redeem male characters while many of the female characters get redemptions or other such things.
Raven is a perfect example of that.
Just as a reminder, Raven is a bandit that murders entire villages and pillages them for resources, as far back as V4 we have seen villages destroyed in her wake in team RNJR journeys. She also murdered the last maiden whose powers she stole. That is on top of her being a dead-beat mom who abandoned her child.
Its fine if one hates Ironwood/Adam for the things they did. But can you not pretend that Raven is some innocent dove? Because that shit is annoying considering shes a mass murderer at this point.
Shes like a more villainous Emerald, and yet people still feel the need to excuse or "forget" her actions.

RWBY and Trauma Part 2: Team RWBY
Ruby lost a lot of people that she was close with, and moved forward too much - she ended up hurting people close to her because she refused to process her grief, and it led to her own misery, and that isn't something anyone wants to see. She also lashed out at people close to her in volume 9 as a direct result of her refusing to process her trauma, and seeing everyone else dealing with theirs and moving forward.
Weiss has trauma around her upbringing, and she let it colour her worldview and caused her to hold biases and prejudice that she worked to undo over the course of the show. She also hurt her brother without even realising - a documented phenomenon among children with siblings in abusive households is the complex cocktail of emotions around feelings of leaving, being left behind, being the favourite, etc. so Weiss ultimately made peace with her family, including her brother, because he was as much a victim as she was and he didn't deserve to be treated like a villain for it. they are now on the road to making peace with each other and moving forward as a family.
Blake suffered tremendously at the hands of Adam. She became wrapped up in his twisted view of the world and his twisted sense of justice, and she managed to escape from it, but Blake suffers from a specific trauma response that Ruby also has - she runs away. But where Ruby simply avoids her trauma, Blake physically distances herself from it. The problem is that she hurts people by doing so because she abandons them, and they are left to pick up the pieces by themselves. it takes Ilia, of all people, to help her understand this. Blake worked with Ilia to help her make amends for her actions, because staying behind to patch things up is far better than running away from the past. you need to confront it head on, and Blake realises through helping Ilia that she herself isn't staying behind to make things right. Ilia doesn't run away from her actions, and Blake shouldn't either. She realises that running away only hurts people close to you, and it doesn't help you in the long run. so Blake learns to commit. I'm very curious to rewatch v9 because I don't remember who makes the first move in the BB confession, but I think it works better if it's Blake, so I hope it is, because her whole deal was running away, so for her to CHOOSE to stay, even if things aren't perfect or going great, is a big personal step for her.
side note re Blake, Sun was very important for her arc because he is a shonen protag archetype and that really helps people deal with trauma by simply addressing it directly. He never gives her the answers, but he does push her out of her comfort zone to reach conclusions herself. Excellent supporting character, if a bit messy in the way he was written into v4. He was necessary for Blake to open up and deal with her trauma.
Yang's trauma is around abandonment and anger. Anger is an amoral emotion - it is the ways in which it is directed that lead to negative consequences. And Yang's semblance is representative of her anger manifesting in self destructive ways, because she needs to take the hit to get the payback. After Yang trains, she fights smarter, and learns that her anger, her semblance, is a powerful tool, but it is NOT something you should rely on. Keep a cool head, and you can protect people a lot better. It's also worth noting that Yang has dealt with her abandonment trauma as a result of Blake coming back, because abandonment leads to feelings of inadequacy - did they leave because they don't love me? and when Yang is shown that that is not the case, by blake coming back and making amends, and by disowning Raven instead of the other way around, she realises that she isn't the problem and never was - Blake ran because she was scared, but she came back because she realised it was wrong of her to run and hurt Yang in that way. Raven ran because she was a coward, and chose not to return because she is still running.
I've seen some people point out that team RWBY and team STRQ kinda parallel each other, with Summer and Ruby being the leader with the crushing weight of the world on their shoulders, Tai and Yang having been abandoned by the love of their life, Blake and Raven running from their problems when things look bad, and Weiss and Qrow having trauma related to their loneliness and isolation.
The fundamental difference is that team RWBY grew.
Summer told no one anything, and presumably died on a mission in secret. Ruby never shared her burdens with anyone, and it technically killed her in V9, but she was reborn and now needs to realise that she is not Atlas - the weight of the world is not her burden alone to bear.
Tai was left behind by Raven, and it destroyed him. Yang was left by Blake, and even before Blake came back, she prioritised the people she still had in her life, namely Ruby, and decided to do what she could for them.
Raven ran away from all of her problems and all of the people she cared about out of fear and paranoia, and never stayed in one place for too long. Blake did the same, until she realised that she was hurting people she cared about, and would rather face difficult problems with them than run away without them.
Qrow lets his isolation seclude him from people out of fear of hurting them, and it drives him into a depressive spiral. Weiss is isolated too, and even though their circumstances lead both to solitude, Weiss begins the slow road to making connections. I want to note that Qrow also does this, and eve nthough it kinda blows up in his face, I believe that he will also continue making strides and paralleling Weiss breaking away from terrible family members.
One last thing to touch on then I'm done, I'm sorry this post is so long lmao it's just a LOT to discuss.
I want to talk about Yang's semblance and how it parallels Adam's. Yang's strength comes from her anger. She takes the hit, and gets a rage power up to dish it out twofold, but it is self destructive and risky. Because anger can be directed and used for good, but it is dangerous to YOU. Adam on the other hand has no physical drawbacks to his anger on a magic system level. But that doesn't mean the anger isn't there, and it doesn't mean the anger isn't destroying him. It's jsut not physically destroying him. Having two characters rely on anger in this way, and having them parallel each other in a number of ways, is really cool.
Okay, I'm done for real. Hope you all enjoyed reading.

[RWBY] When the Stars Go Out: Witch Houses
Introduction
In When the Stars Go Out and the Starmont Universe as a whole, witch houses are not arbitrary sortings for your school years. Instead, they are lifelong callings to a specific form of magic. A calling that will strengthen you for the rest of your life. Houses have overlap, which is to be expected, and they are also broad, providing a wide spectrum of possible specialties for every witch.
Sproutlings
Your first year at Beacon Academy is as a Sproutling, a witch before they have received their calling. For the entire first year, you will learn about magic in all its forms and expand your understanding of yourself. At the end of the school year, the Choosing Ceremony is held, where each Sproutling steps up to choose a house and must see if the house chooses them back. From second year through the rest of your life, this house is where your magic is strongest and most alive.
House Rose 🗡️
The house of protection, combat, loyalty and justice, and curses and cursebreaking. Those in House Rose are known as thornwitches and spend their days learning to protect the people around in them in a variety of ways. Thornwitches are uniquely suited as cursebreakers and hexbreakers, due to their in-depth knowledge of both spell types and trained fortitude.
The official thornwitch colour is rose red. Thornwitches, alongside Wildwitches, are the second most common witch houses in the kingdom of Vale.
House Hibiscus 🐺
The house of animals, survival, communication, and travel. Those in House Hibiscus are known as wildwitches and spend their days learning to care and tend to animals both magical and mundane, to commune with the world and magic as a whole, to travel across ley lines, to unite people, and to care and tend to others in a variety of ways. Many wildwitches take on secondary animal forms in upper years.
The official wildwitch colour is a warm orange. Wildwitches, alongside thornwitches, are the second most common witch houses in the kingdom of Vale.
House Zinnia 🎨
The house of the arts, of creativity, of creation and light, of the senses, and of stories. House Zinnia witches are known as craftwitches. Craftwitches dabble in many arts, and while some choose to learn as many as possible, others learn to specialize early on. From sculpting to textiles to painting to writing books to carving musical instruments to building castles and far more, craftwitches are the heart of witch art culture and for very good reason.
The official craftwitch colour is a sunflower yellow. Craftwitches, alongside hedgewitches and tinkerwitches, are the most common witch houses in the kingdom of Vale.
House Yarrow 🌳
The house of nature, of food, of potions and poultices, of growth and change, and of alchemy. Witches of House Yarrow are known as hedgewitches and their crafts begin largely in the dirt. Their magic focuses on the plants in the dirt, the clouds and storms in the skies, the smell of new mushrooms in the distance. They are cooks, gardeners, expert potion makers, and even masters of alchemy, given the opportunity. A hedgewitch sees wonder and harmony in nature.
The official hedgewitch colour is a deep green. Hedgewitches, alongside craftwitches and tinkerwitches, are the most common witch houses in the kingdom of Vale.
House Delphinium ⚙️
The house of tinkering and innovation, of curiosity and electricity, of mechanics and discovery, and of scientific and magical exploration. House Delphinium witches are known as tinkerwitches and their studies focus on all things both mechanical and magical, including the highly useful and extremely adorable magibots. Tinkerwitches are inventors, artificers, architects, metalsmiths, and magineers. They are curious, they are inventive, they are creative. And they spend so much time in the workshops that a lot of them permanently smell like metal grease.
The official tinkerwitch colour is a bright, mid-to-light blue. Tinkerwitches, alongside craftwitches and hedgewitches, are the most common witch houses in the kingdom of Vale.
House Wisteria ❤️‍🩹
The house of health and healing in every form, of divination and connection, of empathy and compassion, and of love and safety in all its forms. Those in House Wisteria are known as heartwitches and they spend their days learning to heal the body, the heart, the mind, and a person's connection to magic, itself. Heartwitches may soothe painful emotions, help with mental illness, heal broken bones, mend and stitch skin, focus on tending a certain age group, and much more. There are some heartwitches working alongside dustwitches in an attempt to heal the shadowed parts of the aether, to limited success.
The official heartwitch colour is a warm purple. Heartwitches are the third most common witch house in the kingdom of Vale.
House Marigold ✨
The house of magic, the aether, of gifts and treasures, of energy and life. Those in House Marigold are known as dustwitches and their studies and craft focus on the various magical flora and fauna that stem directly from the aether. In particular, the aether and taeliswood trees. Dustwitches learn to tend the trees, to trim them, to harvest the dust and the wood safely. Dust is used in almost all magic and in many of the everyday amenities around the world. Dustwitches are also the only witches who can directly manipulate Dust and make Dust crystals.
The official dustwitch colour is gold. They are the third rarest house and are moderately rarer than those above them. There are between a third to half as many dustwitches in Beacon as there are heartwitches.
House Oleander 💀
The house of death, of the nether, of the monstrous, of all that comes after, and of memories. Those in House Oleander are known as veilwitches and they learn about the cycles of life and death, of the workings of disease and decay and rot. Of their necessity and beauty. They learn to pass on souls, to listen for harm, to heal memories and mend relationships, and to breathe life into that which shouldn't leave quite yet. Veilwitches may be many things, but their calling is the passage between this world and the nether.
The official veilwitch colour is a pale pink. They are the second rarest house and are far rarer than House Marigold. Currently, there are two Veilwitch students and one Veilwitch professor at Beacon Academy.
House Lily 🌌
The house of knowledge, of the unknown and the beyond, of a seeking that cannot be fully understood, of protection and compassion, and of patience. Witches of House Lily are known as starwitches and they are revered as the most powerful witches of all. Starwitches can read the stars, the planet, the winds, to know things no one else can, they hold the unique ability to create powerful knowledge runes, and they are thought to be the oldest witches of all. In the last several hundred years the number of starwitches has decreased rapidly, and no one knows why. Furthermore, no new starwitches have been chosen in over fifty years.
The official starwitch colour is an overlapping dark blue and dark purple, all of which is overlaid with flecks of white. They are the rarest house of all. Only one Starwitch remains in the entire world - Magus Fria Ironwood - and she is a faculty member at Beacon Academy.

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime/manga, books, movies or tv series)? And why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before.....Thanks....
Hohohoho, this list is going to be colourful.
Tumblr media
Favorite character in Demon Slayer but only after his backstory was revealed and he got to shine in the future season 4. He's a little crazy, has a cool design, a sad backstory and is absolutely loyal (to the people he doesn't hate). I actually have a fic planned about him (in the far future) where he gets turned into half a demon as a child.
Tumblr media
Kai Hiwatari from Beyblade, an oldie here. Cool design, cold personality, hidden depth, intriguing backstory. You won't believe how many fic I've read as a teen about his forgotten past in Russia where he had to grow up in an abusive abbey.
Tumblr media
Ling Xiaoyu from Tekken. Not because of her backstory obviously, that's barely existent, but because she's the character I learned all the movesets to. Even years later, every time I get to play the game, my muscle memory activates and I perform her best moves on the spot.
Tumblr media
Zack Fair from Crisis Core. I played that game in school between classes. Absolutely love him and his personality even though he's the opposite of the characters I normaly like. That's most likely because the world of FFVII:CC is already gloomy enough without an equally gloomy protagonist. Honorouble mention goes to Terra from KH:BBS.
Tumblr media
Texas form Red vs. Blue. I'm guessing that most people from the animanga community have no idea about RvB or only ever heard of it in passing while they watch RWBY. But the series (not the latest seasons or whatever goes on there) holds a special place in my heart. For everyone interested, this is the episode that got me hooked, featuring Texas and Monty Oum's animation, and this is the complete first season on Youtube (made with ingame graphics).
Tumblr media
Dr Bashir from ST:DS9. Is attractive, passionate, a little silly often times and has a tragic/intriguing backstory. I always love seening him on screen. Between TNG, VOY and DS9 he's my favorite with Data and Chakotey coming next.
Tumblr media
Nightwing (and Robin) from DC comics. I was a fan of Teen Titans, then of Young Justice, then of the comic books and now I have two stacks of graphic novels on the shelfs. I couldn't keep up with the comics anymore, but Nightwing is here to stay. Jason was the runner up.
Tumblr media
Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Yeah it's not a character but saying Shakti from the Dungeon doesn't mean much here. I was introduced to this game by my uncle while a kid and even in university I found my first friends by talking about this ancient game. Nearly didn't start writing fanfic because I was just about have another months long playing session with this.
Tumblr media
Roronoa Zoro from One Piece. He's awesome and the epitome of cool while still a victim of extremely goofy scenes. He's cool headed, has bloodlust, is reserved and also passionate and loyal. I've watched One Piece since the first episode aired in Germany. This guy is part of my DNA.
Tumblr media
Riku from Kingdom Hearts. Every KH fan will tell you that playing these games will alter your brain chemistry. Not necessarily in a good way but they still shake your world upside down. Riku has good character development throughout the games and I like his design, his cool demeaner and his drive to help his friends.
I kept JJK characters out of this list of course becuase I already talk about them constantly, and I definitely forgot entire series and movies and whatnot while thinking of these characters but these ones were the first on my mind so there.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
This is my first fanfic. So if there's anything wrong please let me know. The main inspiration in this story is from Justice League X RWBY : Superheroes X Huntsmen (Part 1). I'd like to point out that the Winx Club characters in this story are not the OG ones but My Own inserts. They are going to be using Believix as the main transformation because Roxy also has Believix but I might use other transformations later. I apologize if some of the canon characters are out of character. Here's a quick rundown of my take on the Winx characters.
1. Constella Butterfly: She is the Bloom of this story. She is also my Star Vs The Forces Of Evil OC. She is suppose to be the Cousin of Star Butterfly and elder sister of Sapphire Butterfly (another one of my OCS). She is nineteen in this story. She has Calf - length deep red hair , ocean blue eyes , bright skin, two yellow star marks on each of her cheeks and a huge bust (D-cup). The Outfit she wears in this story consists of a black sleeveless turtleneck and  black elastic shorts. On top of this she wears a a red short trenchcoat which reaches around mid thigh level enough to cover the shorts. She also has on a pair of black fingerless gloves and black thigh high boots and her long hair is kept in one long low braid on the back of her head. Her long fingernails are painted black ( God I am really into black clothing 😑).
    2. Britney Wong: She is the Musa of this Story. She originally came from SVTFOE as a rich , spoilt , Japanese - American Girl who is the whole stereotypical mean cheerleader who bullies Star. But in this story she is a spunky , charismatic girl who is arguably best friends with Constella and has always supported her on her journey. She still keeps some annoying traits from her canon counterpart . In this story she also comes from a line of musicians as an eighth generation musician. She is also eighteen in this story. Her outfit consists of  a pink mid-thigh length qipao with yellow accents on the edges and knots. She also wears black tights under the qipao with white fingerless gloves, white knee high combat boots and pink nail polish. Her very dark blue hair is put in twin buns with two white decorative caps on them andbangs in the front. She wears light pink make-up. She has eyes the same colour as her hair. She has a big bust but not as big as Constella's (C-cup).
    3. Tracey Anderson: She is the Tecna of this story. Her original name was Higgs in SVTFOE  but I changed it to fit the story. Her family owns a huge tech industry. She is also eighteen but two months younger than Britney. She has medium length ginger hair that she keeps in a low ponytail by her left shoulder. She has aquamarine eyes. She is also a C-cup but slightly smaller than Britney. Her outfit includes a dark red off shoulder strap dress that is mid-thigh length with black leggings that reach her calves with dark brown boots. She wears short black gloves that reach her wrists and dark red nail polish. On her head is a light red headset. She also has a utility belt hanging loosely on her waist.
    4. Amy Rose: She was Originally from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe but in this story she's the Stella. Her Sonic Boom counterpart is the one in this Story. She still keeps her canon personality but with a twist of fashionista. She wears a red mid-thigh length with dress with white edges on the end of the dress and a white puffy collar. She also wears fishnet shorts under them with kneehigh red and white boots. She is a B-Cup. She is sixteen.
    5. Sticks the Badger: She is from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, specifically the Sonic Boom TV Show. She will also still have her canon personality with a twist of kindness and gentleness and minus the paranoia since she is the Flora of the story. She wears a black sleeveless crop top with camouflage shorts and dark green kneehigh combat boots. She is fourteen She is an A- Cup .
    6. Zooey the Fox: She is also from Sonic Boom. She will have her canon personality with a twist of being athletic and a great swimmer because she is the Aisha of the Story. She wears an off white crop top with dark brown shorts and white combat boots. She is twelve. She is an A- Cup.
    7. Percy the Bandicoot:  She is the Roxy of the Story and from Sonic Boom. She is seventeen. She wears a navy blue crop top and shorts with a light blue short sleeveless jacket over the top and light blue bangles on both her wrists with light blue and white converses. She is a C- Cup but smaller than Tracey.
The book is set in the beginning of season 9 for Winx Club (I don't really know how the canon Winx Club season 9 is like since it hasn't yet been released. It follows my own plot and assumptions for season 9) and after season 6 but before season 7 in MHA. I will make references about my own Characters as the story commences. I don't own Winx Club or MHA, only the OCS. SVTFOE belongs to Daron Nefcy, Winx Club belongs to Iginio Straffi, Sonic belongs to SEGA, MHA belongs to Kohei Horikoshi. Justice League belongs to Warner Bros and RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth.
 Without further ado
 ENJOY!!!

Okay this might sound dumb but everytime I come across the meme about the Children's Hospital and the misuse of red within the colour theory, all I can think about is how Ruby Rose from RWBY is like, the complete opposite of that.
Tumblr media
The misunderstanding of what the colour red can represent and the duality of that. The red in the children's hospital intending to represent courage, strength and love, but failing to see that it is also associated with blood, violence and death, leading to darkly absurd blood-like trails.
Tumblr media
With Ruby, the duality of the colour red and what it represents is purposeful and encompassed in her character. She wears her signature red cloak in the same way a super hero would, evocative of justice and heroism and the like, and she very much is the courageous heroine. She's a very loving character, emphasised in her Silver Eyes ability being fueled by her love of others. But the darker imagery of red, the association with blood and death and violence, well, Ruby's arc in part is about coming to terms with her grief and the death of her loved ones, namely her mother Summer Rose and her violent fate which may also await Ruby
"Every nightmare just discloses
It's your blood that's red like roses"
Coupled with her Grim Reaper aesthetic which links her to death, and her semblance of scattering into red rose petals that can be seen as resembling blood. The juxtaposition of red in Ruby's design as both positive and negative and how that links to understanding life and death (which also foils her to Salem quite nicely with her curse) is just. Really neat.

My Beauty and the Beast!Weiss/Adam 🤝 your Esmeralda!Blake
Btw, Luke, I infodumped all that AU, it's only fair you give me the essay on the Esmeralda!Blake allusion!
You absolutely right, bestie. Lemme give you my Blesmeralda essay.
Now, when I talk about Esmeralda, I mostly take it from the Disney version of tale rather than the book, since I actually haven’t read the book but know that it is obviously very anti-Romani. Esmeralda in the book is a white French girl who was abducted by the Romani people who live in Paris, being raised and living as one of them, while Disney wisely changed that to have Esmeralda actually be Romani.
The most well known attributes for Esmeralda is her stunning beauty, compassion and drive for justice. She was shown to not be quiet when facing injustice, straight up tells Frollo to his face that he’s failing in his duties as the Minister of Justice because he is apathetic to those most in need of justice, and was the first person to actually show compassion and love to Quasimodo despite his appearance.
That’s what reminds me of Blake. In Beacon, Blake is obviously an attractive girl, but it’s her compassion for people and drive for equality and justice that’s her major personality points. She might be reserved, while Esmeralda obviously isn’t, but she is quick to speak up when faced with discrimination and injustice.
She tells Weiss off immediately for her bigoted comments to Sun, tells Ozpin that while he might want to help, his race isn’t so quick, and always acts when she knows the White Fang is doing something because she knows they are good people being misled.
Both are also members of an oppressed minority in their worlds. Esmeralda is Romani, Blake is a Faunus, and they’ve learned how to survive in their own ways because of the different circumstances they live in. Blake learned mostly how to fight to survive outside the kingdoms, she learned how to deal with people who would judge her, even if they are on her own team.
Esmeralda uses the same thing people fetishize her for to earn her way. People only see her as a thief, a witch and a harlot, so she uses her beauty and charm to earn her money and misdirection to escape violent situations like at the Festival of Fools. While she’s not a trained soldier, she knows enough to defend herself.
Both are also connected to a redheaded man who’s disfigured (Adam/Quasimodo) and a blonde who’s connected to the sun (Phoebes/Yang & Sun).
There’s just much more interesting connections between Blake and Esmeralda than there is between Blake and Belle. Because what really is there between the last two? I know allusions are hardly ever deep with RWBY, but this is one that would really suit the character more than her canon one.
Also dark skinned Blake would really work with her Beacon outfit. The colour would make her eyes pop, whether they stay gold like in canon or they’re green to match the green eyes that Esmeralda is named after.

First Lines Meme
Tagged by @jadekitty777! Thanks so much this was fun!List the first lines of your last 20 stories (if you have fewer than 20, just list them all). See if there are any patterns, and choose your favorite opening line. Then tag up to 10 of your favorite authors!
Currently all rwby fics, oops.
20. “What’s in it for me?” He asks, breath catching in his throat and tasting like blood. The heat of the fire devouring his home is on his back, eating away at every memory held in those walls. Setting it on fire wasn’t what he meant to do, but he can’t regret it.
Regret was for the weak, and Mercury Black wasn’t fucking weak. (Talaria- Mercury Black Introspective)
19. Ren sat in silence, his father’s dagger off his arm and held in his hands where he could observe it, gently tracing the curve of the blade with his eyes. He could feel Nora’s presence in the room and felt more uncomfortable with it then he had in a very long time. (Highest Fall You'll Ever Grace, vol7 Lost Licence AU)
18. Tyrian practically skipped along, tail swishing in the air behind him as he reached the end of the hall. He turned to survey his trail of destruction, robots and prison guards turned into an art form of anguish and shreds. He clapped to himself, a giggle bubbling up in his throat as he went back to grab himself a souvenir, blood clinging to the bottom of his boots as he stepped in a sluggishly growing pool of it. (Remember That I Am Thy Creature, FrankenClover AU)
17. Robyn looked out the front window as the van slowed to a halt, barely holding back a curse when she saw Clover Fucking Ebi standing in front of their truck, bold as brass. “Alright, rookie. Looks like we’ve got an obstruction of justice in our way. Keep an eye on our six, but stay close. I’ll do the talking.” (Foxglove, Lucky Shot Roleswap AU)
16. Tai always found it ironic to the extreme that in a world where pretty much everyone was named after colours, everything was always monochrome unless a hilariously specific set of conditions were met. Namely, someone had to find their soulmate, if said soulmate or mates existed. Even then, soulmates were a tricky business. (Everything's Grey 'Til it's Painted Blue, Irontai soulmates AU)
15. James kept his pace as he left his office behind, leaving his Ace Operatives to keep team RWBY under control while he set off to oversee his plan. He pressed the button on the elevator doors, stepping inside as he ran through his options, trying to see clearly through the aftershocks of terror that still gripped him. (Without Regret, I'd Offer Up My Life, Fria Ironwood AU)
14. “This is Dr Victoria Shell, lead scientist on the R.O.S.E project.” Victoria talked into her recorder as she looked over the blueprints laid before her, all the notes given to her at the ready and an ample supply of material she could turn into this proposed android. “I have compiled all of Dr Polendina’s and Dr Watts’s notes on aura and prosthetic construction in order to streamline the process. Summer Rose agreed to donate a sample of her genetic material, which we will be attempting to infuse into this creation in order to access the Silverlight Mrs Rose can produce.”
She set her recorder to the side, rolling on her gloves. “Let’s begin.” (The Personal Recordings of Dr. Shell, ROSE-6 AU)
13. Hazel had left the room.
Mercury stayed perched in the alcove he'd lodged himself into, the Grimm muscle pulsing around him as he used the flesh and sludge to hide where he could in this place. When fighting and running failed, Mercury fell back on hiding. (Run Boy Run, This World is Not Made for You, Mercury Black Introspective)
12. Cold.
Death.
Pain.
Drowning.
No. Not drowning. The blood had rushed out of him too quick to drown.
Thick liquid sat heavy in Clover’s maw, and he didn’t need to breathe. Pain was his world, tearing him apart and putting him back together again, making him anew, better than before. (Clover Leaves and Fallen Trees, Grimm Clover and Maiden Elm AU)
11. She wakes up and it is quiet.
Just silence. A pale sky. (What Does It Mean, To Be Unyielding, Villain Elm AU)
10. “Loyalty always matters!” James’s voice cracked as he yelled at Weiss, his panic reaching a fever pitch as everyone else snapped and snarled at each other, raised voices all he could hear as his hand fell to his gun.
The bag on his desk exploded and his gun was pulled from the holster in an instant, his weapon trained on the threat before he even registered there was a threat. The grimm’s tentacles lashed around the room as it floated high above his head, red strands writhing and coiling as everyone darted back from the creature, the brewing arguments falling to silence in their shock.
General Ironwood... (The Devil and The Huntsman, Irondeath)
9. "You're giving the lamp back to us?" Ruby asked, brows furrowing in confusion as James held out the relic. He thought it was a good idea, at least until the vault could be safely opened.
"Who better to safeguard it than the people who already protected it?"
Ruby reached out, hand resting on the relic, before she shoved it hard against his chest, looking aghast as she darted back like it had burned her. (Fria's Day Out, Fria Ironwood AU/Crack)
8. Ozpin felt the tugs of Ozma's magic at the corners of his mind, the limbo of their incarnations finally broken as a like-minded soul was bonded with.
He awoke in the back of someone's mind, still bleary as though he was physically waking up from a deep sleep. The mindscape was quiet with a forced calm, tension like pulled strings threading through the soul of this new individual and ready to snap at the slightest touch. (Like-Minded Souls, Indeed?, Oz!Mercury AU)
7. Yang stared at the picture of team RWBY, running her thumb over the image of Blake as she sat on the edge of the bed. She could hear the birds outside, light streaming in through the windows as she heard her dad and Sun chatting outside. Heels clicked on the wood outside her room, a soft knock on the door forcing her eyes away from the picture. (Without a Trace to Lead Me, Solarglare)
6. Weiss blinked awake, a quiet inhalation the only outward show of her nightmare. She took a moment to calm her racing heartbeat, trying to focus on her breathing before it corrupted into sobs. She reached down, a hand clasping over the pale scar through her ribcage to affirm that there was no wound, no blood. (Through It All, Freezerburn)
5. Mercury scowled as he rifled through his mail, dark circles under his eyes from another sleepless night. He could see the names of other tenants that had gotten mixed in with his mail, placing those on the reception desk of the apartment building. Junk, junk, something for Jaune, restaurant advertisements aka more junk, and a bill. Whoopty-fucking-doo. (Drawing Silver From Stone, 88 Days Modern AU)
4. Blake watched as the last rays of light shone over Menagerie, cutting through the tree leaves with a gold sheen that was almost tangible. She sighed to herself, looking down at a scroll empty of signatures. Still nothing. No matter how much she tried, it seemed that the people of Menagerie just couldn’t bring themselves to worry about a human kingdom.
Even though she understood the reluctance, that didn’t mean she had to like it. (There's Starlight in Your Smiles, Blacksun)
3. Raven is the leader of the Branwen Tribe, and she is invincible. She’s stronger than anyone else. She’s stared death in the face and made death blink first. (Just Close Your Eyes, Raven branwen Introspective)
2. The Patch landscape rushed by them as Yang changed gears, Bumblebee’s engine roaring as the motorcycle sped up. Ruby clung a little tighter to her sister’s midsection as they leaned into the next turn together, grinning wildly. “Faster, Yang!”
“You got it, sis!” Yang revved the engine as the motorbike weaved through the trees, racing through the patches of sunlight that broke through the foliage above. (Antares, Scorpion!Ruby AU)
1. "So you're his son," Cinder mused as Mercury's home burned behind him. He could see the lights dancing in her eyes, turning vibrant orange to hellfire. The girl next to her looked at him in disbelief and wariness, her eyes flicking down to the body at his feet, Marcus’s grey shirt stained the same bloody crimson as her gaze by the end of it all.
"More or less," he shrugged, every part of his body aching, forcing himself to stand upright instead of crumpling on damaged legs. Marcus’s son.
It wasn't technically a lie.
Wasn't true either. (M80-495, Clone Merc AU) *coming soon*
So it seems that I tend to have a preference for immedately setting something up, whether it be scene, tone, or simply making sure the characters are immediately clear off the bat. Starting with a punch is good but optional, but what matters most is getting the personality across, whether it's a fast fun action romp or a slow introspective.
My favourite is probably the opening line from Like-Minded Souls Indeed, because Ozpin (and his magic) is a very fun perspective to write in but anything in Mercury's PoV is great too.
If you want to try this, you're tagged!!

I just read your Knightfall fanfic and it is amazing! I absolutely loved the dialogue between Cinder and Jaune, as well as the descriptions of the settings/characters. The way you used, "scorched honey" to describe Cinder's eye was just perfect.
As for another theory parallel between Jaune and Cinder. The Relic of Choice was hinted to be at the Tower, the type of building Salem was trapped in originally until Ozma rescued her. What if Jaune rescued/redeemed Cinder from the tower in a sense which supports the reverse Salem/Ozma relationship. There's also the fact that Cinder's turning more Grimm, so while the start of Jaune/Cinder (not officially mind you, but kind of like the start of a relationship between the two) could be Cinder turning from (almost) Grimm back to human, Salem and Ozma's relationship continued while Salem turned into a Grimm. At least, that's what I got from the reverse Salem/Ozma tags. Thoughts?
T_T T_T T_T thank you so much for this ask, I'm glad you enjoyed it <3 <3 that's all a fanfic author wants in life <3 <3 (scorched honey line - I try to simplify my writing because I have a tendency for the verbose, but I can't help myself for the imagery lol - and I love the duplicity of it, burnt yet sweet, it just makes me think of everything perfect and complex about Cinder, anyway now I am just gazing into my own river reflection lolololol PLEASE I want to talk about these things without sounding up myself. I just love fanfic so much, because I can express how much I love these characters and story like this).
Re: the second part of your ask: you are absolutely right, and I actually find Beacon Tower's iconography highly suspicious (like, Ozpin's latest and greatest incarnation basically locked himself back up in there, and he was only 'freed' from it by Cinder, which allows Oscar to meet Ruby, which allows Ruby, on that rooftop, to unlock her silver eyes... it all comes back to towers, back to Salem when she was but a girl).
So in this respect Cinder and Ozpin have already played out more Salem/Ozma business. But I think it's still yet unfinished (especially because they did not have the correct dance partners yet), and wherever the Relic of Choice is hiding, I don't know, but I wonder if it's sentimental to Oz? If it were, I would have thought Salem would know, but maybe she's forgotten; the way the new generation reinvigorates these old ideas of soul, spirit, beauty, justice, redemption, by remembering the secret hiding spot, Jaune and Cinder retreading ground, I don't know, it's very suspicious and I love it. I think a significant event will take place there, especially as you brought to my attention the pronounced Indecisive King and the Relic of Choice parallels.
And yes you are absolutely bang on the money: Salem's Grimm corruption occurred after losing Ozma, and she has remained this way, whereas Cinder's purification (I use this in a purely ceremonial sense - I don't mean she's tainted) will occur after joining with Jaune. So these are reverse events: enemies to lovers, Grimm to human vs. lovers to enemies, human to Grimm (so structurally reflect one another as well). In my opinion. That is.
I also contend that Reverse Salem/Ozma is actually an overarching relationship theme of ALL major RWBY canon ships (particularly the theme of 'trust' - not just simply love), but Jaune/Cinder is actually the most on-paper obvious example and likely the most dramatic and one crucial in our most desperate hour (see: the Relic of Choice being the final Relic at large).
Err so like, any more ideas I have about this I have to be honest, I've saved for my fic LOL!!! But yeah I really think a proper Salem/Ozma parallels write-up is in order, I do have a secret Knightfall manifesto sitting in a Word Document but it's mostly unhinged colour theory. (I'm now reading this pseudoscientific book from the 19th century on chromatology and the power of the colour blue to give life to earth. It's bizarre. I love it).
But yes, one last thought which occurred to me, and mostly speculation: Cinder is perpetually 'stuck at midnight' (so on the nose: Evernight, Salem's home base), and the Tower is full of clocks and gears, and well, I don't know, the theming of time and towers is doing something for me lol. It is sort of poetic that that would be the moment 'time starts again': where Salem was first freed, where the story has been picked back up to be finished, since Salem's conflict has been exhaustive, drawn out, neverending.
Thank you for your lovely ask, you have no idea how excited I am talk about this ship <3333333

The failure of the White Fang subplot and how it happened
Recently i have seen some discussions and takes about the White Fang that lead me to wish to talk about the topic, or mainly, why many critics and people in general see the White Fang subplot as a failure. Funnily enough, while i have covered this topic in comments, i have never truly made any threads about it besides a single one 4 years ago, and even that was focused on something else. Regardless, let us get to the topic.
Establishing Racism
The first thing that needs to be mentioned is that the White Fang is supposed to be a racial justice movement born from the abuse of the faunus, a race of people created to be stand ins for real-life minorities and even mentioned by people like Barbara to represent people of colour back around 1930-1940 and the racial justice movements of 1950-1960 as mentioned by Arryn.
To remind people, these periods have incredibly high rates of racial abuse. Segregation, the ever increasing power of KKK, widespread systemic and individual racism which resulted in death and abuses that still have effect on the world today. We are talking about times when people of colour could not even drink from the same water fountains, let alone go to schools together.
And yet in RWBY... Such is not the case. Our biggest examples of racism for the longest times have been a couple of "No faunus" signs and 2-3 racist characters. And that is it... Many people expected that at least the SDC would have some faunus abuse happening since it was implied to be the case, only for the Atlas arc to not do that. There is no proof given that faunus are disproportionally sent into dangerous mines, or paid less than their human counter-parts. In fact we get confirmation that faunus and humans are seemingly treated equally, and even the reveal of Adams literal brand was revealed by the writers in a commentary to be something that happened in a fight rather than a hate motivated attack.
One could argue that in Atlas the writers tried to not focus on faunus abuse because they wanted to distance themselves from the WF plotline as they themselves have admitted that it was not written well. And yet time and time again they STILL try to include minor signs of faunus racism even in their additional content like RWBY: Arrowfell game that released recently.
One might ask, but why is this important? Well, because of cause and effect. For the White Fang to be formed, there has to be a REASON for it. Just think about the real life racial justice movements like the Black Panthers back in the day or BLM in the more recent times. They formed for a REASON, they didnt just come randomly, they came as an effect of existing racial prejudice and abuses which then caused push-back.
With the White Fang we see an armed resistance not unlike that of the Black Panthers which were active during the times in US history when racism in society took the form of violent attacks, lynchings and other such attacks which prompted an actually armed resistance to form.
The fact that there is no such abuses shown in RWBY creates a massive problem as it then inherently makes the WF look unjustified in its actions. Because there is no balance. The resistance of the WF seems to be over the top in comparison to the racism of the society. Proportional responses matter, if a response is disproportional it looks bad, unjustified.
And this is just the first building block of the whole WF subplot. This is the foundation, and if the foundation is warped, the rest of the building will not hold up well, and it doesnt, especially since it exposes other structural problems of the WF subplot.
Warped structure
Racism, if a work wants to explore it well has to be given time to be built up. Time has to be allocated to showing the racism and its effects, to show resistance to it, and then whatever follows out from that, be it character building or just the building of the storyline. This is why many works that venture deeper into racism either focus on the topic or are very freeform and large, such as video games where there is more room to bake racism into the world. Time that RWBY does not have.
RWBY has many things going for it, but time is not one of them. RWBY has always struggled with screen time, juggling way too many characters, various storylines while also giving a sufficient amount of time for combat. It simply has no time to give to WF and the faunus storyline as it is in the show. And yet CRWBY seemingly wanted to explore the topic regardless, and go more in-depth with it.
Another problem related to this is that the whole WF subplot only majorly affects a SINGLE character, Blake. None of the other characters are properly tied to it. They sometimes touch upon it, with for example Yang losing her arm to Adam and Weiss initially having a racism problem. But these are the characters who just barely brush past the WF subplot. They are never connected to it, it is a subplot only reserved for Blake which adds on to the whole time problem.
If WF was an entire plotline for all of the 4 characters to interact with properly, it might have been given more time, as it could be used to explore all of the main characters. But it was not.
The WF subplot is also not integrated with the entire "Save the world" plot either. While Salems faction affects Adam who then has effect on the journey of the main characters, it still feels like a "side-quest" It affects the main plot, but is never truly a part of it, even the WF at the end is beaten not by the protagonists, but by the WF self-destructing, and it only serves the character progression of Blake.
Which directly leads into another point.
The subplot has no lead that is actually focused on the topic of racism, for the most part. The main enemy of the WF subplot is Adam, but his character quickly loses any connection with the racial component of the WF and instead what is left of him is a jealous abusive ex, that is what his entire character becomes.
Some might say "But Sienna"...
Sienna is fridged in the first minutes of her FIRST appearance to serve the character progression of Adam. Sienna is barely a character because the WRITERS did not make her into a character, she was meant to be fridged for Adam who then quickly abandons the racial subplot. The writers made that choice.
The old leader of the WF was ineffective, Sienna is killed during her first appearance and Adam loses the entire subplot only a volume later. There is no leading character of the WF to carry that plotline forward.
Adam Taurus IS the face of the White Fang because RT wrote him to be that way, because out of all of the WF character he gets the most focus as a leader. And then he turns into a parody of an abusive ex and all of that flies out of the window. Who is left? Ilia who is a follower and is redeemed at the of her character arc? The Albain brothers who initially looked interesting and scheming only to die without doing ANYTHING? There is noone besides Adam who, as i have said before, quickly loses his connection to WF.
Problems with messaging
What i described before are all problems with the subplot on a technical level, problems of execution and planning. And i did not go too deep into all of them, it was just a relatively quick overview, because one could make threads upon threads based on each and every one of those points or characters mentioned.
The main problems of the WF subplot however, is the messaging.
Message number 1 - Violence leads to more violence - Adams fall from grace is written relatively well as an idea, even if the execution needed some work. We can see from the comic books and then the show how Adam slowly turned more and more violent over time. That is not a problem. The problem is that some parts of the fandom received the message that it is Sienna approving of Adams actions that lead to Adams descent.
And this was done by the fandom, make no mistake. Even in this very subreddit i have often seen many takes laughing at Sienna for being "hoisted by her own petard". That she "got what she deserved" that her death is "Ironic" and the like. Funnily enough, i have seen these views being blamed on critics like me, when its the fandom, or parts of it that have held these views.
Message number 2 - Oppressed will become the oppressors - Adams fall from grace is paired with him becoming a faunus supremacist, of him turning the White Fang from a social justice movement into a racist one. While this is real and has happened in the real world, even when it has no concerned racial issues, the lack of nuance in the RWBY interpretation makes the message extremely bad looking.
Let us remember that our protagonists oppose the WF since the very start of the series. That the WF are being shown not only as nameless and faceless mooks but also are shown to have some faunus supremacist views as far back as V1-V3. Siennas presence tries to inject some level of nuance but as said before, she is killed a few minutes after she shows up.
So instead what we have is our protagonists opposing an opressed race of people from the very start of the series, because the opressed people are already written as full on evil.
Message number 3 - Violence is bad, people should just beg for their rights - The history of WF in Remnant is given to us clearly. Ghira Belladona lead a peaceful movement, but it didnt work and eventually Sienna takes a more violent approach of resistance, and it works. Thats good right? Well, according to RWBY, no, thats wrong.
Blake herself condemns Siennas approach in V1, she condemns the violence. Then with her team they go on and fight against the WF themselves. The violence of the WF is portrayed as a bad thing by the show itself.
And the message could not be enshrined better than with V6, where the White Fang is reformed... And is back under the control of Ghira Belladona, whose peaceful actions previously achieved NOTHING. This is further symbolized by Blake being shown the flag of the old WF back in V5.
It is not Adams extremism that is condemned, its the concept of violent resistance to achieve racial justice that is condemned, and that is an incredibly shitty message.
Intentional? - I can not say if these messages are intentional or not. But neither do i care. Because even if they are unintentional, they are still there. Death of an author.
A possible fix?
So, i am not here just to criticize, i am here to also propose a possible alternative. Four years ago my suggestion about the WF subplot was to delete it entirely.
I think that this view is not wrong. Due to the structural problems i mentioned before the show might have benefited more from the WF subplot not existing in the first place. Just have the faunus be a different race of people without the racial subplot and that is it. More time could be spent on things like developing the main characters. This of course would require a large rewrite of Blake since her entire character centers around WF, but i think it is doable.
HOWEVER, there is also another choice to be made. Besides the obvious fixes of CRWBY showing more racism in the world itself Adams faction could have been a separate faction of the WF from the very start of the series.
A big problem with the WF is that despite its fractures it still is treated as a single united organization. What should have been done instead is WF being made up of different factions that either work together or have broken off from each-other. As such Blake can still retain her backstory and run away from Adams separate faction.
Throughout the series instead of the protagonists fighting the WF, they would be fighting only Adams terrorist faction while Siennas faction would possibly help or just be there in the background. A choice could be made to either make Ilia a part of Adams faction and retain the V4-5 Blakes journey to Menagerie somewhat, alternatively Ilia could be a part of Siennas faction and be sent to help Blake to take care of Adams faction who are causing trouble in Menagerie. This all would end with Blake beating Adams faction and Siennas faction still doing their own thing.
Alternatively Sienna could still die by Adams hand and the plot could follow a path similar to what already exists in canon. However, instead of having the message of non-violence, Blakes journey could be one of self-discovery. Throughout her personal journey in V4-V5 Blake could make the conclussion that both her parents and Adam were wrong and that Blake should remake the WF again, but do so with the logic and views of Sienna. Recreate the WF as it was under Sienna and leave someone like Ilia in charge.
These are all possibilities that could be considered and i think would have improved the subplot a lot, even just some parts of these. I think i will write up some minor rewrites in my spare time to post here for feedback. But anyways...
Conclusion
Consider this my addition the the White Fang discussion in the written form, something i have not really done before. I think that the WF subplot failed due to many issues that just kept building upon each other. I think that at the end of V6 the faunus subplot should have been thrown away instead of RT trying to keep its embers alive.
Regardless, any feedback agreements and disagreements is welcome. I have had many ideas while writing this and i have most likely missed some arguments so any possible additions and opinions are also welcome.

So I’ve been thinking all day about this incredibly strange RWBY dream I had. It might be a comedown from the volume ending, it might be withdrawal, it might be unhealthy hyperfixation, but I wanted to share it because shit gets WEIRD.
I made it my mission to try and remember as much as possible, and I’ve succeeded more than any other dream.
The dream itself, as dreams tend to do, flitted between random scenes with little regard for continuity or character placements, so I’ve separated them into the different instances I can remember.
Part 1:
the main featured good guys are Ruby and Jaune, and the main featured bad guys are Cinder, Mercury, Neo and... BLUMPERT.
mostly takes place in the foyer of shade academy, the dream implied lots of staircases and corridors in the school, also that it was built into a mountain kinda like Petra in Jordan
blake and yang are in the foyer but they disappear from the dream almost instantly
blumpert is also in the foyer, he looks like a mix between the Blorp from the 10-year-old minecraft mod 'morecreeps and weirdos' and So Sorry from undertale. long neck, trunk, bottom heavy.
blumpert does absolutely nothing and disappears after only appearing in the foyer.
Part 2:
- ruby gets disarmed, she has to abandon crescent rose to escape
- ruby remarks that qrow lost his weapon in mistral once and rebuilt it, there's a still image of him doing it
- ruby and jaune are being pursued by cinder and neo
- neo is wielding oscar's cane and can use glyphs for some reason
- neo traps ruby in a square corridor and makes glyphs on all the walls, hoping to project spikes or something in every direction to kill her
- jaune gets in the way with his shield and aura and protects ruby
Part 3, probably the most sensible part of the dream:
- mercury has jaune pinned to the ground on a balcony over shade's foyer, jaune's aura is broken
- mercury is like "you don't know anything about me, what I've been through"
- jaune responds that he's sorry for what happened to mercury
- for some reason this entirely vague statement makes mercury have a moment of clarity
- cinder is approaching them, jaune is like "i'm sorry, please don't let her kill me"
- mercury stands up and approaches cinder
- he grabs cinder by the shirt, and holds her up and says "go away"
- he throws her off the balcony
Part 4, shit gets weird; maiden piracy and drug dealing
- ruby and jaune run through shade's gym (it's literally a real life gym populated by middle aged fat white dudes)
- cinder says something that implies that shade has the summer maiden
- ruby and jaune run into a guy at the gym's emergency exit, they trade something for access to the escape and a "summer maiden keygen"
- (keygens generate serial numbers for digital products and are usually used to trick a program during piracy -- it seems that in the dream the summer maiden keygen would help them access the vault without the maiden)
- for some reason they don't go through the door and instead bump into /another/ guy who wants to trade them some 'smack cheese' he keeps in his shoes for the summer maiden keygen
- (smack is slang for heroin. this guy wanted them to trade their access to the vault for heroin-laced shredded cheese he keeps in his shoes)
- THEY TAKE HIM UP ON THE OFFER
Part 5, a weirdly wholesome ending:
- mercury and jaune get "up top" (on top of the cliff shade is apparently built into) and there are taxis waiting for the good guys
- they're walking in shallow water, mercury apparently has no idea that water like this exists and thought that the only water that exists is the ocean
- emerald appears and has an awkward encounter with mercury, but it ends up with them hugging and emerald gives mercury her necklace from her v8 design
- she says it's "in "congradia"" for defecting, idk what "congradia" means but it's probably good
- penny appears and hugs them too
- their auras all flare up
- ren appears to give expositon - he says that peoples' auras are sepia toned until they gain a semblance. Em's, Merc's and Penny's auras all keep changing colours with ren naming the colours until penny's settles on bronze and merc's on silver, then a bit later em's turns gold and then green.
- ren says 'i thought that was gonna take forever'
- I wake up because my fifth alarm for work went off
Feel free to psychoanalyse me for this, I’m genuinely interested if Blumpert is a manifestation of some dark part of me.
Here’s a shitty ms paint drawing of how shade’s foyer looks in my mind, because no other program can do it justice:
