A lot of people hate on this book on booktok, but for me it was a really good read. The way Rowan changed from a heartless, fearful person to a man who gives his heart to a woman is remarkable. His growth is why I loved this book so much.

As Lauren said: this is for the girls who dream of meeting the prince but end up falling for a misunderstood villain.

late reading update!!!

I finished The Fine Print weeks ago but my mind wandered off and didn't update something here! But, yes I finished and I gave it 4.25 on my storygraph.

Honestly, Rowan and Zahra are cute, y'know grumpy x sunshine trope. But their attraction to each other is there from the start! In fact, when Rowan showed his first attraction to Zahra was a reminder for me that this is an adult romance book lol.

Great time, what a plot too. I thought I knew where their story going but I do not. Planning to read Declan and Cal's book too in the future. Thank you, Lauren Asher, and everyone who influenced me to read this.

“The Fine Print” is the romance book of my dreams!

Asher manages to include all of my favorite tropes (workplace romance, grumpy x sunshine, enemies-to-lovers, and age gap romance) in this first book in a series of three interconnected standalones. In addition, she writes from the perspective of both of her main characters. Zahra and Rowan’s alternating viewpoints give the reader access to their haunting pasts, their struggles, and the moments they began to fall for one another. I experienced a roller coaster ride of emotions while reading as a result, equal parts enjoyable and agonizing (in a good way).

Another aspect of this book I appreciated is the representation! Zahra is of Armenian descent and her family celebrates their culture every Saturday during their weekly dinners. Zahra’s sister Ani was also diagnosed with Down syndrome at a younger age. Because of this, Zahra advocates for dis/ability rights, pushing Dreamland (akin to Disneyland) to be more accommodating. Rowan learns to see the theme park through Ani’s eyes after partnering with her for a mentorship program and adopts Zahra’s vision of a more accessible and inclusive Dreamland, encouraging readers to become more aware of discrimination against those with dis/abilities.

“The Fine Print” is perfect for romance readers everywhere and goes beyond what is typical for its genre. I cannot wait to continue on in the series and see what Asher has in store for Declan and Callahan, the two remaining Kane brothers.

Amor nas Entrelinhas - Lauren Asher (Bilionários de Dreamland livro 1)

Eu amei TANTO esse livro! Eu praticamente "devorei", li por horas a fio e terminei com um belo inchaço no olho esquerdo no dia seguinte kkkkkkk

Mas sério que livro maravilhoso, Dreamland é um parque de diversões que lembra bastante a Disney e nessa história temos a Zahra que trabalha nesse parque a bastante tempo e o Rowan que é o diretor do parque, ele frio e carrancudo já ela sorridente e do tipo raio de sol completamente opostos mas com certos acontecimentos acaba aproximando os dois e a conexão e atração é quase que imediata, principalmente pro lado do Rowan.

O primeiro encontro deles foi marcante pros dois pois Zahra peita Rowan sem ao menos saber que ele era! Já ele ficou bem irritado e intrigado por ela agir daquele jeito.

Pelo jeito frio e até impiedoso por parte do Rowan me deu pequenas crises de raivas mas com o passar da leitura você começa a compreender porque ele é assim e não só ela mas a Zahra que passou por poucas e boas na vida mas que não a fez desistir.

Com o tempo a Zahra foi quebrando as barreiras do Rowan até ele se ver gostando dela mas não querendo admitir pra si mesmo, ele achava que era apenas a atração e nada mais, que enganado estava hein Rowan?! kkkkkkkkkkk

Uma das maiores surpresas neste livro é a irmã da Zahra, que tem Síndrome de Down chamada Ani, ela é doce e amável e a autora teve muita responsabilidade de abordar esse assunto e foi maravilhoso e os assuntos que foram discutidos são de bastante relevância na história também!

Um livro maravilhoso! Tem romance grumpy x sunshine, drama, representatividade, cenas hot perfeitas do jeito que eu gosto!

Esse é só o primeiro livro de uma trilogia e ansiosa para ler o segundo livro!

Obs: com certeza comprarei na versão físico pra vivenciar tudo de novo

The Fine Print: spoilers ahead

- I knew almost nothing about this book exept for it is spicy and people enjoy a good billionaire story.

- I was sold on the book after the dedication. I do tend to fall for the morally grey villian in stories. So no shocker here when Rowan was exactely my type of book character.

- Rowan and Zahra‘s dynamic was just amazing. The way she‘s such a happy person who tries to see the good in people ans he‘s such a grumpy asshole. This is what I love. Also it was balanced very nicely with their trauma they had to overcome to finally be able to move on and be open with each other.

- It‘s not my favourite book of all times but it is on my „Books i definitely will reread“ list.

- And of course this book ruined my standards completely. Like why would I ever settle for a guy when Rowan organised a book signing for Zahra? Yeah nobody can live up to that…

- the book delivers perfect escapism. I enjoyed the trip into the live of a billionaire.
