Marvel Movies In Order: What Is The Best One To Watch?
When it comes to Marvel movies, there’s always something to enjoy. Even if one person’s favorite movie is significantly different from another person’s, they can all still enjoy watching a Marvel movie. So which Marvel movie should you watch first? Here is an ordered list of all the Marvel movies, starting with the best one and working your way down.
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a series of movies released by Marvel Studios that are based on the company's fictional universe. The MCU began with Iron Man in 2008 and ended with Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. Here is a ranking of each movie in the MCU, from best to worst. 1. Iron Man (2008) 2. The Incredible Hulk (2008) 3. Iron Man 2 (2010) 4. Thor (2011) 5. Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) 6. Thor: The Dark World (2013) 7. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) 8. Doctor Strange (2016) 9. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Iron Man
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most popular cinematic universes in existence, and for good reason. The movies are all incredibly well-made and feature some of the best action sequences and superhero interactions that have ever been put on film. However, which movie is the best to watch? When it comes to ranking the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, there is no clear cut winner. All of them are great and offer something different for fans of the genre. However, if we were to narrow it down to just one movie, it would have to be Iron Man. Iron Man is without a doubt one of Marvel's most iconic characters and his story has been adapted perfectly into film. The action scenes are exhilarating and really bring out the superhero element in Tony Stark/Iron Man. Furthermore, the love story between Steve Rogers/Captain America and Iron Man is touching and really shows how strong their bond is. Ultimately, Iron Man is a great movie that any fan of superhero movies should watch. If you're not sure which MCU movie to start with, then definitely give this one a try!
Thor
Thor is the best Marvel movie to watch, according to fans. The story follows the adventures of Thor, a powerful god who returns to Earth after being imprisoned on Asgard. Along the way, he encounters dangerous villains and must use his powers to save the world from destruction.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Captain America: The First Avenger is the perfect introduction to Marvel’s cinematic universe. It features a strong cast led by Chris Evans and delivers a thrilling action movie experience. If you’re new to Marvel, this is the film to start with.
The Avengers
If you're a fan of Marvel movies, then you undoubtedly know that there are many different movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, which one is the best to watch? In order to help make your decision a little easier, we've put together a list of the best Marvel movies, in order from best to worst. First up is The Avengers, released in 2012. This movie features some of Marvel's most iconic characters, including Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and The Hulk. It also has an incredible ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. Next on our list is Guardians of the Galaxy, released in 2014. This movie follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), who becomes entangled with team of aliens led by Gamora (Zoe Saldana) after stealing their prized artifact – an item known as the Power Stone. The cast also includes Vin Diesel as Groot and Michael Rooker as Yondu Udonta. Finally we have Ant-Man and The Wasp, released in 2018. This movie stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp. In this film, Lang must team up with Van Dyne in order to stop her father – Dr Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) – from creating an evil suit called "The Yellowjacket."
Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy is without a doubt one of the most popular Marvel movies, and for good reason. It's an action-packed movie that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. If you're debating which Marvel movie to watch, Guardians of the Galaxy should definitely be at the top of your list.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
If you're looking for the perfect Marvel movie to watch, there's no one definitive answer – it all depends on what you're in the mood for! But if we were to narrow it down to just one, it would have to be Spider-Man: Homecoming. This newest installment in the MCU tells the story of Peter Parker (Tom Holland), a teenager who is bitten by a radioactive spider and gains super-powers, which he uses to fight crime as Spider-Man. The film is full of excitement, humor, and heart, and is sure to please fans of all ages.
Thor: Ragnarok
Thor: Ragnarok is the latest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and follows the adventures of Thor, his brother Loki, and their allies on their quest to stop Hela and her apocalyptic plans. The film is a hilarious and exciting adventure with an intense battle at the end that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Thor: Ragnarok is the perfect film for fans of action movies and comic book movies alike. The humor in the movie makes it enjoyable for everyone, while the action ensures that no one will be bored. If you're new to Marvel movies or want to watch something different, Thor: Ragnarok is your best option.
Black Panther
"Black Panther" is the newest Marvel movie and it's definitely worth checking out! The story follows T'Challa, who after being removed from the throne of Wakanda is forced to team up with CIA agent Everett K. Ross and Helmut Zemo in order to get his rightful place back. The cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. This movie is definitely an exciting watch that is sure to leave you wanting more.
Avengers: Infinity War
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been one of the most popular movie franchises in history, and it’s only continued to grow since Thanos’ arrival in the MCU. As the films have gotten more and more complex, it can be tough to know which one is the best to watch. Lucky for you, we’re here to help! Before we get started, let's take a look at how this ranking was determined. Every movie in the MCU was ranked based on five factors: story, action/adventure, character development, visual effects, and soundtrack. Each category was given equal weightage and no film received an edge because of its importance to the franchise overall. Now that that's out of the way... Story: This category is based on how well each film tells its own unique story within the MCU. Action/Adventure: This category is based on how well each film delivers exciting action sequences and thrilling adventure moments. Character Development: This category looks at how well each film develops both its main and supporting characters. Visual Effects: These films were judged based on their ability to create realistic visuals within the context of the MCU. Soundtrack: Finally, this category looks at how well each soundtrack fits with the overall tone of each film. See More

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
A little backstory about this fic - Rooker was in a Budweiser commercial way back in 1984.  You can watch it here.  Rookerstash (who unfortunately isn’t on Tumblr anymore) suggested amongst the Rooker Hookers that we needed a smutty scenario about the “Cute Beer Can Hat Guy” (as we affectionately called him)...here’s what I came up with.
And once again thank you to @merlesgirl47 , @celticheart72 and Rookerstash for reading this and giving me the courage to post it.
Warnings - NSFW, Smut
Tumblr media
It was a picture-perfect day in Chi-town – the sun hanging high in the clear blue sky, a balmy temperature of 72 degrees, a pleasant whisper of a breeze on the air.  It was a beautiful day for baseball.  Or at least it would have been if the blind date your bestie had set you up with had actually shown.  Your friend had been nagging you for weeks to let her set you up with her new co-worker.   “He’s sooooo sweet,” she said.  “He’s suuuuch a nice guy.  He’s perfect for you!”  You finally agreed, a little out of curiosity to meet this so-called wonderful guy and a little to finally get her to shut up.
After waiting for him outside the left field gate of Wrigley Field well into the 1st inning, you soon got the hint.
Well, this is just great, you thought.  You know what?  I give up. You had made up your mind.  There weren't any “nice” guys left in the world.
You thought about heading home and drowning away yet another misfortune in your unlucky love life with a pint of ice cream and a good book.  But you had already bought a ticket to the game.  It had been ages since you had been to a Cubs game.  Plus, it was too pretty of a day to spend moping about inside your cramped apartment.  So, you picked your chin up and waltzed into that stadium head held high.  You weren’t going to let that guy ruin your day.
You found your seat on the third base side and sat content for a while, enjoying all the sights and sounds that come with a ball game.  Around the top of the 3rd inning, you were dying of thirst.  You got up and went off in search of a concession stand for an ice-cold soda.
You pushed your way through the mob of fans and got in line at the first concession stand you came to.  The line must have been 30 people deep, all crammed together like sardines in a can.  Finally, after waiting for what felt like a month of Sundays you made it to the front of the line and ordered your soda.  As you walked away, someone in quite a hurry bumped into you, spilling beer all over your arm and shirt.
A little peeved, you were just about to give that someone a stern talking to about watching where they were going.  However, that all vanished when you looked up and were met with the most gorgeous set of blue eyes you had ever seen, albeit hidden under the bill of a silly novelty baseball cap with a beer can squashed onto the top.
The eyes belonged to a man around 30 years old you figured, holding a hot dog and a half-filled cup of beer, the other half now soaking into your shirt.  He was a little taller than you, a handsome face with a square jaw and chiseled cheekbones, and brown curly hair hidden under that hat.  He wore a patterned, green short sleeved button up shirt, the first few buttons undone giving a peek of his nicely toned chest, and his khaki shorts hugged him in all the right places.
Your heart literally skipped a beat, something that had never happened before when it came to men.  It was instant chemistry, and from the way he was looking at you, you could tell he felt it, too.
He snapped out of it and immediately began apologizing profusely.
“I'm soooo sorry,” he exclaimed.   You quickly took notice that his voice was sexy, too.
He moved his beer to his other hand, trying to juggle both the cup and his hot dog at once, and grabbed for a wad of napkins he had stuck in his back pocket.  He handed them to you still apologizing.
“It’s ok.  Don’t worry about it,” you assured him.  “It's partly my fault, anyway.  I should have been paying more attention.”  You took the napkins and wiped your arm dry and then started to dab at the wet spot on your shirt.
“I just..just didn’t want to miss any of the game.  I guess I wasn’t watchin' where I was going.  I really am sorry.  Let me make it up to you.  Um...”  He looked around frantically trying to figure out what on earth he could do to make this better.  He pointed to a little vendor cart selling Cubs t-shirts.  “I know, let me buy you a new shirt!  So you can get out of that wet one.”
“No, it’s fine, I promise.  It really is ok.”
“C’mon, there’s gotta be something I can do.” he pleaded.
You had never seen a man as beautiful as the one who currently stood before you.  And the fact that he wore that dorky hat made him even more attractive.  Something deep inside told you this was fate.  Out of all the people in the stadium, he was the one that ran into you.  Surely, it wasn’t just a coincidence.
You scanned your eyes across his hands – no wedding ring.  But, surely a guy like him was taken.  You were about to find out at least.  You had an idea how he could repay you, but it would muster all the courage you had.
“What about you letting me watch the rest of the game with you?” you asked timidly, praying he wasn’t at the game with his girlfriend.  You were never this forward, but you didn’t want to lose him just yet.
He obviously never expected that answer and fumbled over his words.  “Um, y-yeah..I..uh..yeah..absolutely, c’mon.  It's just me and my buddy, and you’re more than welcome to join us.”  The look of shock on his face faded into a crooked grin as he turned to lead the way.  Your heart melted a little more.
You followed him through the crowd, not minding when you got a little separated on the way.  It allowed quite the view of his cute butt in those tight shorts.
When you got to his seat, he introduced his friend who also happened to be a co-worker.
“This is Frank.  Frank, this is..um..sorry, I didn’t get your name.”
You introduced yourself to Frank just as your new love interest sat down, quickly drawing your eyes back to him.  The way his shorts scooted up his thighs a little when he sat down, the fabric tightening over his crotch revealing a nice bulge, you couldn’t turn away.  It was suddenly really hot in Wrigley Field.
You made small talk at first, both of you a little nervous but becoming more comfortable as time went by.  Soon, you lost all concentration on the game, focusing your full attention on the blue-eyed, curly-haired dream that had accidentally stumbled into your life.
You learned his name was Allen.  He was a city bus driver by day, and by night, an up-and-coming actor, the hot new item on the Chicago theater scene.  He had been a Cubs fan since moving to Chicago as a teenager, and he made sure to catch at least one game a week during the season, usually with Frank.
Over the next couple of hours, you got to know one another as much as two people could in that brief span of time, and before long, you both seemed like old friends.  And Allen actually listened to you when you spoke and was genuinely interested in what you had to say, something that until now the previous men in your life never did.
When Allen talked, you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.  You were discovering he was just as beautiful on the inside as out. He was respectful and polite, the perfect mix of sweet and a little shy, humble, charming and funny.  And that laugh of his?  You hoped you never had to go another day without hearing it.
There was no denying you were falling for him.
Now, there was also no denying the sexual tension between the two of you.  Since the moment you first laid eyes on him, you had been trying to brush aside the ever-growing feeling of wanting to know what he looked like under his clothes, to sleep with this man you had just met and barely knew.  That feeling was getting harder and harder to ignore.
At some point during the conversation, Allen's bare leg accidentally brushed against yours.  You swore you felt a spark, an electric surge tingling through your body from where your skin had touched.  He looked down mid-sentence, losing his train of thought for a second, before turning to you and smiling.  He felt it, too.
By the 7th inning stretch, the stands began to empty as spectators slowly started trickling out of the stadium.  The Cubs were down by 12 runs, and it wasn’t looking good for a late-in-the-game rally.
Frank slapped Allen on the shoulder and stood up to leave.
“Alright, Al, I’m headin’ out.  Game’s a bust, and I got an early route in the morning.”  Frank extended his hand towards you.  “It was really nice meeting you.  And, hey, don’t let this clown give ya’ too much trouble, hm?”
You smiled and shook Frank’s hand.   “Don’t worry, I won’t.”  You looked at Allen and swore you saw a little redness appear on his cheeks.
Thankfully, Allen didn’t give any impression that he was ready to leave.  You certainly weren’t.
More and more people left, but, unfortunately not the group of drunk bozos in the seats in front of you.  At first, it had been fairly easy to ignore them.  But they had been getting gradually louder and more obnoxious with every beer they downed – throwing Crackerjacks, cursing, heckling the visiting team's left fielder. They were a real bunch of charmers.
At the bottom of the 8th, the Cubs third baseman was up to bat.  He swung on the first pitch, and a loud crack echoed across the field, the unmistakable sound of the ball coming in contact with the sweet spot of the barrel.  You knew that ball was going over the fence somewhere.  It was a futile effort, the visiting team having scored three more runs in the top half, but it was a homer nonetheless. And you saw the ball heading straight for your section.
The ball was moving like steel to a magnet straight for you.  You and Allen stood up in anticipation, Allen's baseball glove at the ready.  You put your old softball skills to work and reached up, the ball landing flawlessly right into your hands.
It was just your luck that the three drunk bozos had also jumped up to try to snag the ball.  The guy directly in front of you snatched the ball from your hands as soon as you caught it.  His pals hooted and hollered, congratulating him, clapping him on the back like he was the one that had made the catch.
Allen immediately saw red.  “Hey, man! That’s hers!”
The drunk guy turned around and glared at Allen.  “Yeah?  Whatchu gonna do aboudit?” he slurred.  “How's about you and your ‘lil bitch just sit the fuck down ‘fore I make ya'.”  He pushed Allen hard in the chest, nearly knocking him backward against the seats.
Allen’s Irish blood boiled over.  The tendons in his neck tightened and he gritted his teeth.  If this fucker wanted a fight, Allen was happy to oblige.  He drew back his fist, seconds away from clocking the drunk bastard across the face when you grabbed his arm.  You shook your head no.  “It’s not worth it.  C’mon.”  You took his hand and started to lead him away, the trio of drunk guys still hurling insults at your backs.
Allen protested,  “But..but..that ball’s yours!  You caught it fair and square.  And I’m not gonna let that little shit talk about you that way.”  He was pissed no doubt.  But you had plans to take his mind off being angry.  All of your feelings that had been building for Allen the last couple of hours were already at a peak and this incident just sent them exploding over the edge.  The way he had just stood up for you, outnumbered and risking getting his ass kicked for a woman he had just met, it was making your panties wet just thinking about it.  You wanted him, needed him right then.
You led him out of the stands desperately trying to find the nearest restroom or unlocked utility closet, anywhere that would give the two of you some sort of privacy.
The first available option was a men's bathroom.  You barged through the door, Allen in tow.  Luckily, attendance had dropped a great deal in the ballpark so the bathroom wasn’t crowded.  There was one man, however, washing his hands at the sink.  You gave him a glare and he hurried to dry his hands and swiftly shuffled out the door.
Your heart was pounding.  You don’t do this.  This isn’t you at all.  But ecstasy had officially taken over.  There was just something about Allen that you couldn’t wait another second to feel his lips on your skin, his hands on your body, caressing places on you begging to be touched.
You yanked him into a stall and slammed the door, locking it behind you.  Allen’s mouth hung open.  He couldn’t believe this was happening, but from the hardening bulge in his shorts, you could tell he was game.
“Are we really doing this?” he rasped.  You pulled off your shirt and draped it over the stall wall.  Allen’s eyes grew large.  “I’ll take that as a yes,” he gulped.
“That was so fucking hot what you just did.”  You grabbed a fistful of his shirt and pulled him to you, kissing him hard on the mouth and nearly knocking off his stupid beer can hat.
Allen tangled his fingers in your hair, moaning against your kiss as you palmed his bulge and rubbed him over the fabric of his shorts.  You quickly broke away from his lips to unbutton his shirt, pushing it back over his broad shoulders.  He shuddered as you traced your fingers across his chest down to the lean muscles of his belly.  You kept going, undoing the button and zipper of his shorts and tugging them down, his dick springing forward, already dripping from the tip.
He was just as beautiful underneath his clothes.
Everything was happening in a heated frenzy.  As much as you wanted this to last, to take your time exploring every inch of Allen’s body, time was of the essence.  It was only a matter of time before someone walked in on your little rendezvous.
Allen helped you shimmy out of your shorts along with the lacy red panties you had worn, now soaked with your arousal.  He cursed under his breath and pushed his knee between your thighs, using his leg to sweep yours apart.  He reached his hand down to your apex, circling your clit with his thumb before gliding one, then two fingers inside the silken curls of your core.  You purred beneath his touch, grinding yourself against his expert fingers.
“Allen, I want you so fucking bad,” you begged.
He pulled his hand away and grabbed beneath your thighs with both arms, lifting you up and pressing you against the stall door.  You wrapped your legs around him as he pushed inside, molding your body with his.
Allen grunted and buried his face against your neck, sucking and biting on the sensitive skin there as he began to thrust, slow at first but then quickening as he found his rhythm.  You tried to be quiet, but you couldn’t hold back the sounds of pleasure as he plunged his hips into you over and over again, withdrawing and sliding home faster and harder each time.  It wouldn’t take long for either one of you to get to the grand slam.
Suddenly, you heard the unmistakable sound of door hinges creaking as someone entered the restroom whistling the melody to “Take Me Out to the Ball Game".  The tune came to an abrupt end when the man undoubtedly saw a pair of legs with shorts around the ankles and various sex noises coming from the stall.  Once again the door hinges squeaked, this time giving away the man's hasty retreat.
Allen looked at you and you both burst into laughter.  It was now no secret what was happening in the men’s bathroom by Section 502.
Despite the interruption, neither one of you dared to end things early, and you soon felt the tension down below pooling in your lower belly.  You cried out and threw your head back against the door, digging your nails in Allen’s shoulders as the long, slow ride of your climax coursed through your body, your inner walls tightening and fluttering around Allen’s dick.
Seconds after, you could feel Allen throbbing inside you.  “Fuck, I'm gonna come,” he whispered against your ear.
He pulled out and set you down, your legs trembling and nearly giving out beneath you.  You circled your fingers around his dick, jerking it in your hand.  Allen gripped the top of the stall door, breathing heavy.  He closed his eyes and with a moan from deep in his chest, he reached his own peak, marking you across your stomach with warm strands of cum.
Barely giving either of you a moment to recover, Allen kissed you, a slow, passionate kiss that nearly made your knees buckle again.  He helped you clean up and handed you your clothes.  You glanced at Allen as you redressed.  He had a devilish grin on his face as he pulled his shorts up and buttoned them.  “Hey, uh, the Cubbies are playing again tomorrow.  Early afternoon game.  Can we maybe do this again?”
His cheeks blushed immediately, realizing how bad that might have sounded.  He started talking 90 to nothing trying to recover.  “I-I mean not this exactly…I mean don’t get me wrong, this was amazing…but I just want you know I’m not usually this kind of guy, but I'm not gonna lie, the way you caught that ball earlier kinda turned me on, and you’re just so beautiful and all, and I like you a lot…like a lot..like I’m fallin' for you more and more every second and I'd really like to keep getting to know ya'…I-I mean if it's ok with you, of course… fuck, I can’t think straight around you…y-you know what?  I'm just gonna stop talking now.”  He let out a much-needed deep breath.
You giggled and put your index finger to his lips.  He was cute when he was angry but even more so when he was flustered.
“Yes, Allen, I'll watch the game with you tomorrow.”
He chewed on his bottom lip, smiling.  “Yeah?”
“Yeah.  Now let’s get outta here before we’re banned for public indecency.”
*******************************************************
On the way out of the stadium, you passed by the gift shop.
Allen stopped and grabbed your arm, halting you in place.  “Hey, wait for me just a sec.  I'll be right back.” He disappeared inside.
A few minutes later he came out of the store obviously holding something behind his back.  He bit back a smile and handed you what he had been hiding – a souvenir baseball with the Cubs logo on it.
“I mean it's not a home run ball, but…,” his voice shied away.
Now you were blushing.  “Thank you, Allen.”  You gave him a peck on the cheek, holding the baseball up to your heart.  This one meant way more than that stupid home run ball ever would.
Allen walked you all the way to your car, making sure you got there safely.
He opened the driver's side door for you, propping his arms atop the door frame.  “So, I'll still see ya' tomorrow?  I promise I won’t spill my beer on ya' this time.”  He paused.  “Well, honestly, I can't really promise that.  I can be kind of clumsy sometimes.”
He smiled that lopsided grin again.  Man, he was making it so easy to fall harder for him.
Taking his face in your palm, you gently kissed him.  “Meet me at the third base gate at noon.”
You got in the car and drove away leaving Allen stunned in the parking lot.
You left Wrigley Field having officially changed your mind.
There was at least one nice guy left in the world and turns out, it was a beautiful day for baseball.

Tonight the World Dies - The Walking Dead Fic - Merle Dixon x OC
It all felt so hopeless.
She didn’t think she could go another day fighting through the walkers, worrying if she would lose what family she had left, and the people who had become her family. It had been a miracle in itself she had stumbled across the prison and had found her aunt. It broke her heart that she outlived her little cousin, the girl she had sworn she would look out for if she ever had the chance to find her and her aunt again.
Along the way she had grown close to several survivors in her aunt Carol’s group, and they had died protecting her or from misfortune. When she first stepped foot here almost four months to the day, she had thought it would be okay. Her blue-green eyes found life again. Her small pouty lips stretched into a smile. She loved everything; the smell of the rain, the hot sun shining down, the beautiful woods they were surrounded by.
But now, the rain reminded her of tears, the sun was hot and reminded her of the terrifying and prickling anxiety she always felt, and the woods were like a mauseoleum. It brought nothing but sadness and anger.
“Kati?” she heard her name called.
“Yes?” she mumbled sleepily, opening one eye to see Daryl looking at her from the doorway of her cell.
“’s two thirty. Ya wanna take watch with me?” he asked.
“I’m tired. I’m sorry. Raincheck?” she replied, glumly.
She saw he was disappointed, but nodded and walked off. She and Daryl had become very close. He was one of her best friends now, along with Maggie and Beth. She looked up to Hershel like her own daddy, and her aunt Carol doubled now as her mother. She was growing close to Carl, looking at him like a little brother, and she adored Judy. She even found Merle Dixon, Daryl’s brother, growing on her.
She couldn’t bear the thought of losing them. Watching them die some monstrous, blood soaked death. And for what? For her, maybe? No. She wouldn’t do it.
She found her old diary she had brought with her for old times sake, and a pen.
“To whomever finds this note,
I can’t do this anymore. I was more than blessed to find you all, and to spend four wonderful months with you. After losing Lori, T, and thinking back on family and friends I have lost before hooking up with you all, its drained me. I feel tired all the time, and think that my best option is to throw in the towel before I become lunch for one of those petulant, miserable monsters we see on a daily basis.
To my aunt Carol; I love you to death. You are strong and brave, and I only wish I could be more like you. I will miss you and be waiting on the other side.
To Daryl; You are a great friend. You watch yourself out there, and keep my aunt safe. I will miss you more than you know.
To Beth and Maggie; you girls have become my sisters. I grew up an only child and deeply wanted siblings, and here you two are. I know you will make it. Just stay safe.
Grimes family; Thank you for taking me in and looking at me as family. I will miss you. Rick, you are a great poppa, keep it up and keep everyone safe. Carl, you watch out for everybody, especially your sister. Tell Judy goodbye for me.
Hershel; Please don’t try to save me. You took up the role as my Daddy and I could never be more thankful that you have. I am blessed to have known you and have you care for me like I was one of your girls.
To everyone else; thank you for watching my back, for keeping me safe, and for giving me a reason to hold on as long as I did. I love you all and will see you soon.
Kati.”
She left it on her bed before grabbing her pocket knife that was a gift from Daryl, and finding the boiler room. She looked around, feeling an unbearable lump forming in her throat. She had always heard it was ‘across the street, not down the road" when people talked of slitting open their veins. Or had it been down the road, not across the street?
She sat on the ground in the middle of the room. There was a small window that let the sunlight stream in, and she smiled through her burning tears. She would see the sun one last time before leaving this awful existence behind.
She dragged the knife across her left wrist, and gasped when she saw the blood streaming down her forearm. She grabbed the now slippery knife, trying to gash her right wrist, but couldn’t get a firm grasp. She thought she was as good as gone, anyway. She laid down, feeling sleep slowly overcoming her while her blood spilled to the ground.
Muffled voices filled the corriordor, and her vision began to grow dark. The last thing she saw was the door opening and someone screaming.
Kati woke up with her wrist feeling as if it was on fire. At her bedside sat Daryl and aunt Carol, looking extremely worried and exhasperated.
“I knew I shouldn’t have left you alone. Saw somethin’ in your eyes.” Daryl said, quietly.
“You think we’re going to let you go this easily? Never. How could you think to leave us, to leave me? After all we’ve been through…” Carol said, tears filling her saddened eyes.
“I can’t lose anyone else. I would rather die than lose another soul.” Kati mumbled, her bottom lip trembling.
“Do we have to put you on suicide watch?” Carol asked, wiping away her tears.
“Where am I? And no. I just need to be alone. This was my right. I don’t want to do this anymore.” Kati snapped, feeling angry and hurt.
“You ain’t leavin’ us, girl. Don’t give a damn how much you hate me or her or the world. You’re stuck with us ‘til the end, dammit.” Daryl snapped back.
“Fuck you. Fuck all of you. I’m going to my cell – ALONE!” she cried, and stumbled out of what looked to be Daryl and Merle’s cell.
She passed the throng of people she lived with. Some looked relieved, others looked sad and like they pitied her. Some whispered about her, and there were some who just watched her go up the stairs to her cell.
She calmly walked in, her heart hammering in her chest. Her wrist throbbed from the stitches, and her head hurt. She figured she hit her head somewhere along the line from the blood loss. There was blood in her bunk, and her cell had been torn apart. She climbed into her bunk, lying on her side and staring at the cold, bloodied wall.
She heard Carol and Daryl talking to others. Words such as “depression” and “fear” were thrown around. While some said their hearts broke for her, and they would watch over her.
She heard someone coming up the steps, but continued to stare at the wall. She felt as if the new lump in her throat would be the death of her. Her body twinged and she let the tears stroll down her pale cheeks, slightly sniffling and whimpering in the bed.
She felt someone get in beside her, and two strong arms slide around her waist. As she looked down, she saw a makeshift war arm, or so she called it, and knew it was Merle.
“What you think you’re doing, babygirl?” he whispered in her ear.
“N-n-nothing.” she stammered, trying to sound as if she hadn’t been crying.
“Mmm. This says otherwise.” he replied, running his fingertips along her stitches, making her wince.
“I don’t wanna see… an-anyone else… d-d-die.” She said, succumbing to her pain.
She felt Merle pull her body against his, her back right against his front, and she cried quietly. His one good hand sliding up and down her side. He remained quiet and let her do what she had to do. Once she had calmed down enough, she turned to face him.
He looked a little stiff and awkward, and she knew her crying made him uncomfortable. He forced a small smile when she looked at him, and she returned the smile. She leaned her body against his, not letting any space delve between them. He looked at her suspiciously, but didn’t move away. His good hand rested at the small of her back, gently rubbing while he kept both arms tight around her small frame.
“Thank you.” she said, looking from his blue eyes and down to his lips. They were so inviting at that point.
“You don’t have to thank me, sweetheart. No one should have to cry alone.” he mumbled, looking down at her pouty lips.
She crashed her warm lips into his, pressing them hard against his equally warm and soft lips. She moaned as his hand gripped her ass, pressing her body against his. His strong arms flexed as he slowly rolled on top of her, and her legs quickly opened and let his lower body rest between them.
As her tongue slid anxiously into his mouth, she could taste the liquor and what she could tell was cigarettes on his breath. His hand gripped her jaw, holding her tightly in place as he grunted, rubbing his lower body against hers. She could feel he was getting hard, and she really wanted to feel him drive his cock deep inside her.
He pulled away, already panting a little, and looked into her lusting eyes.
“You sure about this, babygirl?” he moaned in her ear. “We don’t have to.”
She reached one of her hands down between his legs and started to grab and rub his hardening cock, making him take in a sharp and jagged breath. “Yes, I’m sure. I want you, and I want you now.” she said in a seductive, quiet voice.
“As you wish.” he said, grabbing her hand and moving it away.
He pulled her tank top off, revealing a pink and white lace push-up bra. He looked from her full, perky tits and up to her inviting blue-green eyes.
“Damn, honey. Damn.” he said in a raspy, lust filled voice.
He ripped off her bra and threw it across the room with her top, and she began to slide off his unbuttoned shirt and then his wifebeater, leaving them both topless. She looked up in his eyes, her heart pounding as he kissed her lips gently as first, before rubbing his boner hard against her clothed pussy. She whimpered, moving back against him and gripping his shoulderblades. He pulled away with her bottom lip between his teeth, teasing her ever so slightly.
“How deep do you want it inside you, Darlin’?” he asked in a deep, throaty voice.
“As deep as possible,” she whimpered, looking up at him and biting her bottom lip.
“Nuh huh, baby, only I can bite those sexy lips.” he said, smirking.
She unbuttoned her jeans and let him slide them off, his nails dragging across the moist flesh of her leg on one side. She fumbled with the button on his, sliding them and his boxers down, eyeing his fully erect cock. Just as she was about to take his perfectly sized length in her hands, he held both of them above her head with his good hand.
“No touching, not until I say so.” he warned.
“Fuck…” she breathed as he tore off her white g-string, leaving her completely naked and vulnerable to him.
He looked up and down her body, scanning every curve and crevice. She looked from his blue eyes and down to his perfect shoulders, to his rock hard arms, and to his sculpted chest and stomach. She felt her body shake with anticipation, and she began to feel nervous under his watchful glare.
“You okay?” he asked, kissing her neck deeply and sucking on the sensitive skin, making her shudder and arch into him.
“Ye-yes, oh, God, yes.” she said in a shaky voice.
“Don’t worry little girl, Merle’s gonna take good care of you.” he winked, his lips covering hers and their tongues meeting in satisfied delight.
He grabbed her one thigh with his hand, letting her wrap her legs around his waist, and she felt his cock poking at her glistening entrance. He could tell she was already soaked, and impatiently waiting for him to take her.
He slammed his sizeable length inside her without warning, making her nerve endings go into overdrive and her to moan rather loudly. He slid his tongue deep into her mouth, gagging her as he picked up a good rhythm and kept ramming into her tight, wet pussy as hard as he could. She gripped his shoulders, moaning as their tongues locked and unlocked, sweat already beading along her breasts and down her stomach. She arched into him, not letting a sliver of space come between their aching bodies.
“God, Merle!” she cried, whimpering as she bucked her hips into his.
“Mmm babygirl, hold on tight.” he said, looking down into her eyes as he slid out fully and reentered her even slower, letting her feel every thick and hard inch of him.
Her body shuddered, and she felt as if her heart was going to burst. She ran one of her hands along his chiseled jaw, their eyes locking as he began to pound her g-spot and his fingers played with her clit. Her eyes widened and she could feel she was about to come. The aching pressure that felt so painful yet so good at the same time.
He tossed her onto her stomach, his body resting atop of hers and one of his arms around her waist.
“It’s okay, baby. I ain’t letting you go.” he moaned in her ear.
“Merle, fuck. I think I… I think…” she babbled, her eyes shutting tight and her hot cum drenching his stiffened cock.
“That’s it, babygirl. I’m almost there.” he said, smacking her ass.
She moaned his name as he relentlessly pounded into her raw and swollen pussy, making her grip the sheets and push her ass up a bit, making him spank her and leave bites down her spine.
He moaned her name in her ear as he shot his load deep inside her, pulling out and moving onto his side of the small bunk. He grabbed the comforter at the bottom of the bed to put over them, and he took her shaking body in his arms. She kissed his chest passionately and then buried her face in the crook of his neck. That was the first time she had ever had sex, even though she was 22. It was worth the wait.
“You’re amazing, girl.” he whispered, sliding a piece of hair behind her ear.
“You are. That was incredible, all I imagined it would be.” she said, her voice quivering.
“You mean to tell me you…?” he asked, looking in her eyes.
“Well, damn. I didn’t know.” he added.
“It was perfect. You were rough but gentle enough with me that it didn’t hurt. It was amazing and felt so incredible, Merle.” Kati said, looking into his deep blue eyes.
“I’m glad I could be of service then, sweetheart. I have a question, though…” he said, tightening his grip around her.
“What’s that?” she asked, dreamily as she rested her head on his chest.
“You gonna try and leave me again?” he asked, quietly. “I mean, uh, leave us again.”
In that moment she knew the often hard ass, don’t-give-a shit-about-nothing, pain in the ass had feelings for her. She smiled softly and kissed his cheek.
“I’m not going anywhere so long as you aren’t.”
“I’m right here, Kati. Don’t wanna be noplace else.” he said, rubbing her back with the steady palm of his hand.
“That makes two of us.”

Pantry Attack
Short and smutty ;)
----------------------
"Shit!" I cussed, trying to reach for an unopened box of rice on the top shelf in the pantry. "Son of a bitch!"
My fingertips barely touched it. There was no way I was going to be able to get it down, and I was on a ladder. I needed someone tall to reach it for me.
"Need a hand?" Merle suddenly appeared next to me, his raspy voice right in my ear.
Flinching in response, I called him an asshole and kicked at him playfully. He laughed heartily, his blue eyes twinkling as they roamed over my entire body.
"Ya scared the fuck outta me! I didn't know ya were down here!" I scolded.

WHAT IF Episode Predictions
The picture above shows 25 confirmed MCU cast members who will be reprising their roles for the Disney Plus animated series depicting various what if scenarios throughout the cinematic history.
“What If: Peggy Carter was given the super Soldier Serum?” has already been confirmed. Based on the list given we can assume that Captain America: The First Avenger alums will be Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Stanley Tucci as Dr Erskine, and Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Doogan. There is a comic with this storyline but based on the cast unless Red Skull is the big bad maybe Toby Jones goes full MODOK?
“What If: Killmonger’s uprising was a success and he remained King of Wakanda?” Kinda feels like a glorified YouTube’s How It Should Have Ended... but mainly I believe it’s definitely more like fan service or plain fan fiction as Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter and Michael B Jordan’s Erik Killmonger definitely have strong followings. But here there is a story to tell. Wakanda could succeed in a world take over and would Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa see his side or continue to become a freedom fighter?
“What If: Captain America was never found?” Agents of SHIELD already did a phenomenal “What If: Hydra Succeeded in Captain America: The Winter Soldier” storyline where they were Agents of Hydra and a secret resistance. But if Cap was never un-iced does that mean there’s still no one willing to fight for the price of freedom? Enter Sam Jackson as Nick Fury and Jeremy Renner as Agent Barton, Hawkeye. After Avengers (2012) Barton simply disappeared until Avengers: Age of Ultron. I say that should there have not been a Steve Rogers that Fury would have went to Barton who he obviously trusted enough to allow him a sanctuary home off the records, to help him stop this internal takeover. Sebastian Stan would return as the Winter Soldier and I think Toby Jones returns here as computer Arnim Zola.
“What If: Kurt was Ant-Man instead of Scott Lang?” Hear me out because I find this one kinda interesting. David Dastmalchian’s Kurt is not only a professional heist man himself but he’s also a brainiac like Scott where it was him who hacked and disabled the laser grid. Michael Douglas returning as Hank Pym originally chose Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang because he was brilliant and a crook so skilled yet expendable. But he wasn’t expendable after all! He has a kid that he loves and wants to turn away from crime in order to be with. So he could effectively be the middleman between Hank and Kurt in place for Janet Van Dyne to help whip him into hero shape.
“What If: The Guardians of Galaxy were never a thing?” When a was set into motion originally Karen Gillan’s Nebula not Gamora was assigned to get the orb from Xandar. It could be assumed that Nebula wouldn’t have hesitated to kill Peter Quill in doing so. But this would obviously bring her a whole lot of problems from Michael Rooker’s Yondu Udonta and his Ravagers like Sean Gunn’s Kraglin and... Chris Sullivan’s Taserface? Maybe Nebula might turn on Thanos so then Djimon Hounsou’s Korvath turns on Ronan and then Taserface turns on Yondu forming Queen Nebula and the Boys.
“What If: Jane Foster found Mjolnir before finding Thor?” Again it is HUGE that Natalie Portman is returning to the MCU and of course it’s because the prospect of the damsel but brilliant Jane Foster becoming her own hero. I believe that gets exploited and she becomes Thor earlier in the timeline here wherein her research she finds Mjolnir before Thor and even finds it before SHIELD. Consider that young arrogant Chris Hemsworth as Thor might not have taken too kindly to this blasphemy of his precious Hammer and might even evoke the help of his God of Mischief brother Tom Hiddleston as Loki to help get it back. This actually is less in the vain of a Shakespearean love triangle as much as an odd couple of brothers trying to best an OP chick that one of them or both end up falling for. It could be what Portman’s forgettable Your Highness was trying to be.
“What If: Planet Hulk Remastered” This one excites me the most! Mark Ruffalo may very well never get a solo Hulk film but what about a featured episode? I say simply reboot the old Planet Hulk (2010) animated film but with Ruffalo, Taika Waititi returning as Korg, and Jeff Goldblum returning as himself The Grandmaster. They don’t need no stinkin’ Asgardians for a revolution just enough pamphlets!
“What If: Thanos was truly inevitable?” Josh Brolin to return again as the Mad Titan would need to be for a just reason. He retains the Gauntlet and resets the universe to his own making only to find that any universe he makes might continue to resist him. Maybe greater powers might come to judge him for his playing god. Either way this will be an opportunity for Brolin to really expand this character either to his philosophy or to his madness which I am sure Brolin would love to do.

The Suicide Squad: Inside James Gunn’s DCEU Supervillain War Movie
https://ift.tt/3ywaJGW
In November 2019, I found myself in the middle of a war zone. Well, the closest approximation of a war zone I’ve ever found myself in during my time visiting the sets of blockbuster movies. If I had been brought to this particular set in Atlanta on a sunny autumn afternoon without knowing what movie it was that I was supposed to be getting a peek at, the scene presented to a group of journalists probably would have convinced me that this was some new war movie or straight up action blockbuster, and not one that features a collection of DC villains and antiheroes at its core.
The set in question is called “Jotunheim” and it’s apparently an objective Task Force X needs to conquer in The Suicide Squad. But for all intents and purposes, this could be the kind of Nazi fortress that the gritty characters of movies like The Dirty Dozen or Where Eagles Dare need to conquer, whether or not they get out alive. That’s no accident, according to director James Gunn.
“A lot of the film is within the genre of war caper films,” Gunn tells reporters later that day, specifically referencing The Dirty Dozen, Kelly’s Heroes, and others. “It’s not really something that’s existed for a long time, but in the late 60s that was one of the most vibrant genres of the world. [We wanted to] kind of … add on to it with The Suicide Squad.”
There’s no sign of Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, or any of the other oddball DC characters at the center of Gunn’s newest movie as we stroll the Jotunheim set. Whatever wild action took place here seems to have been resolved long before our arrival. But the evidence is everywhere and it must have been one hell of a fight.
From the decrepit guard tower and busted fence at the perimeter to the entrance of Jotunheim (which has a massive hole blasted in it) is probably a distance of 100 meters or so. And virtually every inch of that shows the scope of whatever took place here: burnt out bunkers, overturned and semi-destroyed jeeps, sandbagged guard stations, and so much debris, a mixture of real rocks and carved foamcore and plywood “masonry.”
“It’s a giant construction project” producer Peter Safran jokes about the number and scale of practical sets that have been built for The Suicide Squad. “The idea is to do as much practically as we possibly could.”
That reliance on practical sets and effects wherever possible is a theme that keeps coming up throughout the day as we tour sets and look at production artwork, scale models, weapons, and more.
“We built literally three football fields of a set and that’s so unusual in this day and age,” production designer Beth Mickle says of Jotunheim. “You just never do that. We wanted to have real rubble behind them in the battle sequences, and we wanted to see the building that they’re attacking. For that scene to exist in a film today is just highly unusual. And we’ve done that set and then a dozen others of that scale, so it’s incredible.”
Both the war movie vibe and the love of practical effects are very much in evidence on another set, a convincing indoor recreation of a jungle with a guerilla camp nestled in the middle of it. There’s dirty laundry hanging, filthy pots strewn around, a crumpled pack of cigarettes, and a half empty bottle of watery beer…and what appear to be bloody chunks of skull and assorted viscera littering the grass. Like Jotunheim, something went down here, and whatever it was, it wasn’t pretty.
The Characters of The Suicide Squad: Meet Task Force X
It all stands in almost stark contrast to the wacky assortment of brightly-colored characters that make up the actual team. The concept art and costume tests for these characters were suitably colorful and wildly offbeat, and it’s almost hard to make this line up with the gritty, war movie vibes of the Jotunheim and jungle sets. But storyboards reveal a nighttime action sequence on a beach, with the Squad invading the fictional nation of Corto Maltese, and were it not for the colors and unique designs of the characters wreaking havoc, this too would be evocative of just about anything other than a superhero movie.
A production office is papered with life sized posters of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Peacemaker (John Cena), King Shark (performed by Steve Agee and voiced by Sylvester Stallone…although we don’t know that at the time), Blackguard (Pete Davison), Savant (Michael Rooker), Mongal (Mayling Ng), Weasel (Sean Gunn), The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniela Melchior), Javelin (Flula Borg), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), TDK (Nathan Fillion), and Bloodsport (Idris Elba).
Looming large is also Idris Elba’s ominous, armored character who we now all know as Bloodsport, but who the studio remained cagey about identifying during this set visit for some reason, leaving reporters to speculate on the identity of the badass in blue, black, and gold. Between the color scheme, the armor, and an impressively intimidating assortment of weapons left out on a table for reporters to ogle as it’s explained that each weapon transforms into or folds out of each other, speculation about Bloodsport ends up occupying a fair amount of the downtime between interviews.
So what exactly could possibly hold such a motley crew together?
“You have to remember that all either have been wrongfully accused or done horrible, morally wrong things,” John Cena says. ”You can see the good in people, you can also see the evil in people… All of these people have real bad personality problems. So I think when you get that type of group together, that’s what makes it fun. Everybody is kind of different. But I think criminals see criminals, they just size everybody up. I think every one of them is like, ‘how is this person going to stab me in the back?’ That’s the world they come from.”
Cena is playing the authoritarian Peacemaker, a character who sees himself very differently than many other members of the Squad do. But the actors behind two of the stranger characters in the film, offer some additional perspective on the team dynamic.
“There’s people in this story that really want friendships, and people that don’t want anybody near them, just like all of us,” says David Dastmalchian, who plays Polka-Dot Man. “I think all of us have felt at times like we are totally disposable to either our employers or society or you name it. So that’s been interesting, in the relationship [between the characters] with the dynamic that starts to build or break down.”
“These are all characters that for the most part, probably don’t even know the existence of the other ones,” Steve Agee says. “Some of them do, and it’s the story of The Suicide Squad. They are forced to be together, and do this task, this mission. So, part of the story is just watching these people adapt to being around each other.”
Flula Borg (who gave journalists a rambling, uproariously funny interview about his character which you’ll see more of on DoG soon enough) spoke about how his character relates to Viola Davis’ team leader, Amanda Waller.
“Judging from all the relationships that Javelin has I would say poor, non-existent, unhealthy, crosses lines, should consider not interacting with other humans,” Borg says. “Javelin doesn’t worry about how people treat him. He treats them … What’s the golden rule? He has the Javelin rule, which is like ‘suck it, I’m cool.’ I think that’s his rule.”
Even here with the characters, the commitment to practical effects is strong, especially in areas where you’d fully expect them to rely on CGI. For example, Daniela Melchior, who plays Ratcatcher 2, has a little helper rat named Sebastian. While the hordes of rats the character is capable of commanding will necessitate CGI, at least some of the rats are real.
“We have three female rats [that play Sebastian],” Daniela Melchior says about the um…practical rats that the movie is using. “It’s a little bit distracting sometimes because I have to act lazy and tired like I don’t give a shit about whatever is happening… and I’m just like, ‘come here.’ But she doesn’t want to come, she wants to find new places and go, so we’re like, ‘okay, we’ll try one time with the rats, we’ll see what happens.’”
And when one of the rats playing Sebastian doesn’t want to do as they’re told, only then does the movie revert to CGI to get the desired “performance” from the furry co-star.
“I don’t know if I can say this,” Melchior says conspiratorially. “But actually, [some of the cast] are a little bit afraid of rats…I’m always trying to say ‘look, she’s so sweet, she wouldn’t hurt you.’”
From Suicide Squad 2 to The Suicide Squad
Like the characters themselves, The Suicide Squad has something of a rough past. The first movie failed to become the surefire franchise-starter the studio hoped for in 2016, and while a Suicide Squad 2 was put into development almost immediately, it wasn’t until Gunn became available that the project finally solidified.
“There was no plan before James,” Safran says. “There were other writers that had worked on various Suicide Squad scripts over the years, but… this was starting from ground zero, starting from scratch. All the characters that he selected were just characters that he was a fan of and wanted to play with. I think, in typical fashion for James, he picks more obscure characters…he liked the idea of being able to take these characters and imbue them with whatever characters he really wanted, or characteristics that he really wanted to play with.”
One of the “characteristics” Gunn wanted was to truly tap into the spirit of DC’s long-running and beloved Suicide Squad comics of the 1980s, which were co-created and stewarded by Jon Ostrander.

“I don’t think of it so much as an interpretation of what Ostrander wrote but I do think of it as a continuation of what he did,” Gunn says. “It’s very much in line with that. When he was first putting this team together, he was only able to get certain characters. For him, it was the fun of taking these characters that weren’t as well-known and developing them in a real way. And it’s one of the greatest superhero runs of any comic book series.”
(Gunn also notes that Ostrander has a cameo in the film.)
As for whether or not The Suicide Squad is a sequel to or a reboot of the previous film, all involved are both diplomatic and evasive. The official line is that any characters that were together in the previous film do already know each other, but as for the actual events of the 2016 movie, that’s where things get murky.
“We just don’t address it any tangible form,” Safran says. “Yes, they’re the characters and actors that played them in the first movie, but we really wanted to make sure that this stands on its own two feet. It’s not a sequel, but there are some characters that were in the first movie, so it’s not really a full reboot either. So we just call it James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.”

Inside Jotunheim
Later in the day, journalists are taken inside Jotunheim via soundstage, an indoor construction that appears almost as sprawling as the outdoor set. As we saw outside, the remnants of what was likely a furious battle are all around. A stuntman in full Peacemaker gear is hanging around as we see Robbie’s Harley, Dastmalchian’s Polka-Dot Man, and Agee as King Shark (“the studio is trying to play down the whole Polka-Dot Man/King Shark universe they’re building,” Dastmalchian jokes) make their way through the rubble. Elba’s Bloodsport isn’t visible, but we’re assured he’s part of the scene.
While it’s Sylvester Stallone voicing King Shark in the film, it’s Agee on set here, wearing a grey mo-cap suit with the kind of padding you see on MLB umpires and somewhat shark-shaped wire headgear. He also appears to be holding a skull.
Harley, however, is wearing the ornate red dress glimpsed in the trailer (although it’s somewhat the worse for wear at the moment). As she navigates the carnage in Jotunheim, Gunn calls out for Robbie to “hum a little tune.” She does just that, conjuring exactly the kind of aimless musical free-association you’d expect from a mind like Harley Quinn in the midst of battle.
“Harley’s been through some things as you can see by this point in the film,” Robbie says to reporters between takes. When it’s noted that Harley’s baseball bat, a fixture in the previous film, is nowhere to be found in this scene, she jokes “My baseball bat is back home in LA, next to my bed, in case anyone breaks in…I’ve got other weapons in this one.”
We don’t get to see these Squad members engaged in any combat during the shooting of this scene, and it’s not clear if this is the interior from the same “entrance” that had seemingly been blasted into the outdoor structure, or somewhere else inside the fortress. But the clues all point to one thing: like everything else in this movie, where The Suicide Squad goes, destruction and chaos follow.
The Suicide Squad opens in theaters and on HBO Max on Aug. 6. We’ll have more from our set visit in the coming days.

Fic Author Interview
I was tagged to do this interview by both the lovely @sherrybaby14 and @genevievedarcygrangerwriting, thank you for thinking of me! <3
What inspires your work most? (The show it is based on, the actor who portrays a certain character, maybe the character itself…? It could even be an experience.)
Well, if we’re speaking in just terms of fanfiction (because what inspires my novel writing is much more long and extensive lol), I find that I get more inspired to write from the characters and the actors themselves. The actors are usually what help make or break a character for me, so they typically go hand in hand. Though in Negan’s case, I was interested in his comic version at first and later eventually warmed up to Jeff.
Inspiration usually is pretty sporadic. For instance, I can write Negan but my mojo for him has been low since TWD season 7 finished up. So I’ve been drowning myself in Michael Rooker and his characters. If you can tell from my blog and my sideblog @rooker-renegades I am in very deep. understatement of the year
What is your favorite fandom to write for?
Currently I’ve been enjoying writing in the Rooker fandom. Before GOTG2 came out I thought I was all alone in my thirst, but everyone else came out of the woodwork and I’ve been able to share my fics along with reading everyone else’s fics for Rooker’s characters <3 The Negan fandom was my first big fandom in a long time, and the people there were so welcoming and made me write and share fanfic again in the first place.
Which perspective do you prefer writing in? (First-person, third-person)
Most of my smut is written in second person, so that’s what’s more comfortable for me most of the time. Otherwise I prefer to write in first person, because it’s easier to get into the mind of a character. I still write stuff in third person, but not as much as I used to when I was younger.
Do you prefer writing reader fics or OCs?
I prefer writing OCs, though that might not be apparent from my masterlist of fics. I tend to keep my fic writing short so I can focus on my novel planning/writing. So typically a lot of my one shots are smut, and I write reader fics for those, though a few of them are self insert/OC. I love digging into an OC and creating them though, it’s so much fun.
Do you prefer writing longer works or one shots?
For fan fiction it’s definitely the one shots. I can do longer fics, but I need them somewhat short so I can focus more of my creative energy into my novel writing. I have been tempted to write a longer fic so that I can call it a “rough draft” and retool it for a novel, though I only have one vague idea for one at this point in time.
Do you take requests?
I don’t necessarily take requests, though I have asked for drabble prompt requests in the past to give me a nice list of short fics to work on. That list is about halfway done and I dabble around with it when I want a new idea. I also have asked in the past if someone was interested in a second part of a certain fic that I would be up for ideas. I know for the longest time people wanted a second part of my Grant Grant fic Late Night Lovin’ but I had no ideas for it until an anon suggested something that I will be using for a second part.
TL;DR: No I don’t really take requests because I know I won’t have the time to devote to all of them, plus I’m still working off of the list I got months ago.
Do you enjoy getting random Asks?
Of course! Random asks always make my day and inspire me. I know some people might feel like they’re annoying their favorite authors by doing so, but I can assure you that authors thrive on the sweet asks! It actually makes me more motivated to sit down and write knowing that people really do like my stuff. Often times people will read but not interact, so you never know if people really liked a fic or not. So never be afraid to send me random asks about anything, whether it be about my writing or my interests, or just anything.
What inspires the names for OCs (or extra character names) in your works? Do you pick them from real life or just select them at random? A mix?
I make them specific towards a character’s personality. I tend to not pick real life names because then I associate those names with characters. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to name a character something but then have been like “no that asshole from high school was named that.” Google is definitely my friend when it comes to coming up with names.
If your story(ies) have OCs, are their appearances based on real people or celebrities? If so, who?
Okay, I haven’t written many OC fics, so I’ll use my own novel writing as an example. Yes, more often than not I use face claims. It makes it easier to write a character when I can focus on an actor’s mannerisms and appearance to make them more believable on the page.
For the novel I’m working on right now, I’m still in the process of casting certain characters. Though I can tell you who I’ve cast so far: Jeffrey Dean Morgan (big surprise), Lee Pace, Tilda Swinton, Millie Bobby Brown, and Michael Rooker (wow I bet I surprised y’all with Michael’s name being on here hahahahahahha I’m so transparent)
How long have you been writing fanfiction?
Technically I’ve been writing it since I was in grade school. I’ve always written stories of my favorite characters going on adventures, and a lot of my first fanfictions were actually in the form of comics. A lot of my first stories were for Dragon Ball Z, though none of it was actually put online so I only have boxes full of writing stored away.
I technically first published fic in 2008 (or at least that’s what my old ff.net account says), and after I last updated my Nightmare on Elm Street fic in 2012 I didn’t write fic again for a long time. I had written out like 7 episodes worth of scripts for a huge horror movie shared universe type webcomic/show in my senior year of high school that never got off the ground, and I did write a Dragon Ball Z fic freshman year of college after Revival of F came out but I never put it online (I’ve thought about editing it down and publishing what I have on my AO3). 2016 was when I actually started publishing fic online again, in the Negan fandom. It was also my first time I’d written smut too. Basically I got a lot of encouragement from people and the rest is history.

Suicide Blonde (Michael Rooker X Reader)
Tumblr media
Disclaimer:  Obviously set in an AU where Rooker’s never been married, no kids, etc.  This is purely fantasy and would never happen in a gazillion years.  If you don’t like RPF, don’t read.
Warnings:  RPF, mild smut
He hurried to turn his alarm off, cursing under his breath as he accidentally knocked his phone off the nightstand and sent it clattering onto the hardwood floor.  He cringed, not so much about the shattered condition his phone screen was possibly now in, but whether or not he had disturbed your sleep.  He was trying his hardest not to wake you, and after all that noise, he knew he probably hadn’t succeeded.  You had to give him an “A” for effort for trying at least, but you were indeed awake.  It wasn’t entirely his fault though.  You had been blessed with the misfortune of never being able to sleep through even the slightest sound since the day you were born.
He sat up on the edge of the bed and yawned, grumbling as he finally stood up and shuffled to the bathroom.  Neither one of you liked to get up early.  And it was early, too early, one of those days he had to be on set at the crack of dawn.  You waited for the sound of the water running in the shower before you snuck off to the kitchen to make him breakfast.
It was still black as night outside the kitchen window as you put on a fresh pot of coffee, counting down the seconds until you could taste that early morning caffeine rush and give your brain a jumpstart.  You then went about whipping him up a quick breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast.
You had just set his plate and coffee on the table when he walked into the kitchen.  He went straight for you, grabbing you in a tight embrace from behind, nuzzling his scruffy chin against your cheek.  “I’m sorry I woke you up.  You forgive me?”
You turned around in his arms to face him.  He looked so damn cute with his hair still damp from the shower, his blue eyes drowsy with sleep and his lips stretched into a lazy smile.   How could you ever be mad at him?
“It’s ok, baby,” you assured him, giving him a kiss before you both sat down at the table.  “I had already planned on making you breakfast anyways.  Besides, I can always take a nap later.”   You smirked and nudged his leg under the table with your foot.  “And, we both know you’ll end up falling asleep again somewhere.  The make-up chair, or some random prop couch, middle of a scene,” you teased.
He chuckled.  “That is exactly what I’m gonna do, and I can’t wait to do it.  Mostly just to fuck with Gunn for making me get up this early,” he joked.
———————————————————————————————
After the two of you were finished eating, he grabbed his backpack and keys and wrapped you up in one last hug before he had to leave.  “Hey, let’s go out for dinner later when I get home, hm?”
“That sounds fine with me,” you replied.
“Well, I mean if you still wanna be seen in public with me after today,” he grinned.
Your face scrunched up.  “What does that mean?” you puzzled.
“Nothing.  Nevermind.”  He was trying his best not to laugh.
“Nooo, tell me,” you whined.  “Why wouldn’t I wanna be seen with you in public, you goofball?”
“Nope.  Can’t tell you.  It’s a surprise.”  With another quick kiss and an “I love you”, he was out the door before you could ask him another question, leaving you standing there wondering what on earth this surprise could be.  Heaven knows with him it could be anything.
———————————————————————————————-
That evening, you heard the back door to the kitchen open and close, followed by the familiar sound of his keys hitting the countertop.
A few seconds later, he walked into the living room.  “Surprise!”
You looked up from your laptop to see him standing there, his baseball cap in one hand, his other hand toying with the curls on his head.
Your jaw nearly hit the floor.  “Oh…my…God…come…here.”
He busted out laughing and flopped down on the couch next to you.  When he had walked out the door that morning, he had left with a head full of brown curls and three weeks worth of a fuzzy, salt and pepper beard.  He had returned home a bleached blonde and not a trace of stubble to be found on his face.
“So?  Whadda ya’ think?”
You sat your laptop on the coffee table and moved closer to him.  “Ummm…well, it’s…different,” you giggled, running both of your hands through his hair.  “But, yeah, I like it.”
“You really like it or you just saying that?” he asked, wondering if you were just being nice.
“No.  Really, I like it.  I mean I never thought of you as a blonde before, but I’m kinda digging it.”  You inched closer to him still and straddled his lap, wrapping your arms around his neck and twirling the newly blond curls on the back of his head with your fingers. “It’s actually pretty sexy.“
“Yeah?” he smiled and ran his tongue on the inside of his cheek.  His hands instinctively slid down to cup your ass, and he inhaled sharply as you started grinding against his crotch.
“Uh-huh,” you nodded, leaning down to leave a trail of slow, soft kisses along his jawline, noticing how strange it was to not feel his scruff against your skin.  He closed his eyes and leaned his head back against the couch, sighing as you whispered in his ear.  “It’s making me want you..right….now.”
He swallowed hard, his breath beginning to quicken as he watched your fingers graze down his chest, lifting up the bottom of his t-shirt to get at his jeans.  You could see the outline of his cock under the black denim becoming more defined every second.
“You wanna maybe postpone dinner for a bit?  See if what they say is actually true?”  You unbuttoned his jeans and took your sweet time unzipping them.
“If what’s true?” he rasped, suddenly finding it hard to concentrate on the conversation as you slipped your hand inside his underwear.
“That blondes really do have more fun,” you purred, wrapping your fingers around his cock, stroking him in a torturous, slow pace until he couldn’t take it anymore.
He grinned, and his eyes burned wild as he flipped you onto your back on the couch.  He yanked his shirt over his head like it was on fire and threw it across the living room.  “I think I already know what the answer’s gonna be, but let’s find out anyway,” he growled and buried his face against your neck, nipping and kissing as he tugged down your jeans.
After the third round testing out that old saying, you both decided to just stay in and order pizza.

WHAT TO WATCH THIS WEEKEND May 3, 2019  - LONG SHOT, THE INTRUDER, UGLYDOLLS, EL CHICANO
This is another one of those infamous “lots of new movies taking on a juggernaut” weekends and surprise, surprise, I’ve actually seen three of the movies, although I’m going to recuse myself from actually reviewing them for reasons I choose not to get into.
Tumblr media
Definitely my favorite of the three new movies is Lionsgate’s LONG SHOT, the new romantic comedy pairing Seth Rogen with Charlize Theron and directed by Jonathan Levine of 50/50 fame. It’s a fun politically-tinged comedy that surrounds Rogen and Theron with a great cast including June Diane Raphael, O’Shea Jackson, Jr, Bob Odenkirk, an unrecognizable Andy Serkis and Alexander Skarsgard. You can read my interview with Levine over at The Beat, and my interview with Jackson will go up sometime later this week.
I also liked director Deon Taylor’s THE INTRUDER (Sony/Screen Gems), a super-creepy psychological thriller, starring Dennis Quaid, Michael Ealy (keep an eye on this guy!) and Meagan Good, who I’ve been a fan of since she starred in Rian Johnson’s Brick. I’m really impressed with Taylor as a director, as he continues to crank out films via his Hidden Empire production company. He actually has about four or five movies in various stages of post-production, including two that will be released by Screen Gems, so if you aren’t familiar with Taylor’s work, don’t worry… you will be. The Intruderis certainly a fun introduction, a simple psychological thriller with three solid performances. If you’re looking for something to see this weekend, you could definitely do worse than this.
I’m not sure that Ben Hernandez Bray’s action-thriller EL CHICANO, released by new distributor Briarcliff Entertainment, is my cup-of-tea, though I’ve long been a fan of the movie’s co-writer and producer Joe Carnahan. It stars Raul Castillo in the dual role of an L.A. police detective investigating a brutal gangland murder, as well as his gangster twin brother who was killed years earlier. The title character is a vigilante who comes around to stop gang violence by any means necessary, and Castillo’s character believes that it was actually his dead brother. the movie  also stars George Lopez and a mostly-Latino cast, which is quite an achievement for Bray and Carnahan. I think some people will really dig the action scenes and the character, and I hope it does well because there’s definitely some more room to tell more stories about the characters. (You can read my interviewwith Bray and Carnahan on The Beat.)
Not sure if I have much to say about STXfilms’ UGLYDOLLS, which features a musical voice cast including Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Janelle Monae, Blake Shelton, Pitbull and Gabriel Iglesias. As you might guess, it’s the one movie this weekend I haven’t seen, and I have absolutely no interest or plans to see it ever. I just don’t care. Maybe there are kids or parents out there that do, so good for them!
Anyway, none of the above matters since Avengers: Endgame will still be doing huge business in its second weekend. By the way, I finally got around to seeing that and I quite enjoyed it, especially how it defied almost all of my expectations despite not really knowing anything about the movie in advance. In fact, the only scene I saw from the movie at CinemaConended up being a bit of a red herring, something you’ll totally understand if you’ve seen the movie.
You can see how I think those movies will do at the box office on my Box Office Preview at The Beat!
LIMITED RELEASES
I’m going to start with the docs this week, cause there are some good ones… okay?
Tumblr media
Opening at the Metrograph Friday is Gretchen Hildebran and Vivian Vazquez’s timely DECADE OF FIRE about the South Bronx in the ‘70s and how Black and Latino neighborhoods were abandoned by the city government as building after building burnt to the ground, destroying those neighborhoods until the people stood together to rebuild. (If you saw Baz Lurhmann’s Netflix series The Get-Down, you could see some of the results of what happened.) I saw the movie at Doc-NYC last year and was blown away by how well the story was told. The screening will be accompanied by a number of related panels at the Metrograph over the weekend and also next week. You can learn more about those here.
Speaking of the Bronx, the Netflix documentary KNOCK DOWN THE HOUSE, directed by Rachel Lears, looks at some of the amazing women who ran for the House against incumbents last year, including the Bronx’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The movie won the Audience Award for documentary at Sundance in January, and it’s opening at the IFC Center and Film at Lincoln Center in New York on Weds and will also be streaming on Netflix. I really liked this documentary a lot, mainly because like many, I’m endlessly fascinated by the amazing Ocasio-Cortez and how the ardor towards her keep growing the more she gets out there. I certainly will vote for her if she ever runs in an election I can vote for her. Lears’ movie is quite fantastic as it’s on the ground with these women throughout the political campaign process.
The next two docs played at Tribeca this past week, but I just couldn’t find the time to see either. The first is Werner Herzog and André Singer’s MEETING GORBACHEV (1091, formerly The Orchard), which compiles three conversations that Herzog had with former Soviet head of state Mikhail Gorbachev, who is now 87 years old, talking extensively about the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991. It opens at the Film Forum in New York Friday.
I’m a little more annoyed with myself for missing Hulu’s ASK DR. RUTH, directed by Ryan White, because I’m definitely interested in learning more about Dr. Ruth Westheimer, the Holocaust survivor who became known as the country’s most famous expert, as it follows her leading up to the days of her 90thbirthday. This doc opens at the Landmark at 57 West and Quad Cinemas in New York on Friday, plus it will be on Hulu on June 1.
Also back this weekend is one of my favorite French filmmakers Olivier Assayas with the dramedy NON-FICTION (IFC Films), which I previously saw at the New York Film Festival. It’s about an author (Vincent Macaigne) who bases much of his work on his own life (kind of like Assayas?), and it once again teams Assayas with Juliet Binoche, who plays the wife of the author’s publisher who has an affair with him. What I liked about this over some of Assayas’ more verbose character-driven dramas is that it’s actually kind of funny, especially with its spoof of the publishing industry. I’ll probably try to see it again, but it’s opening in New York at the IFC Center and probably a few other places as well.
Normally, my favorite movie of the weekend would be a Zhang Yimou martial arts film like SHADOW (Well GO USA), because I’m such a fan of Heroand some of his other films in this ilk, but for whatever reason, this one just did not connect with me. Part of that was that I just found this story confusing, and it really dragged in between the action scenes, which certainly looked lovely, like a good ballet, but still kind of disappointing.
Abramorama is releasing Dan Pritzker’s BOLDEN about the life of jazz artist Buddy Bolden, known as the “first Comet King of New Orleans,” as played by Gary Carr, into select citiesFriday. The film also stars Ian McShane and Michael Rooker. I’m shocked that I hadn’t heard much about this movie, especially since I saw commercials during SNL over the weekend.
This week’s Bollywood release is Student of the Year 2 (FIP), directed by Punit Malhotra. As you might guess, it’s a sequel to the 2012 romantic comedy, this one involving a love triangle between a guy and two girls.
There’s lots of other odds ‘n’ ends, none of which I’ve had a chance to see including Tell It To the Bees (Good Deeds Entertainment), Clara(Screen Media), Hesburgh(O’Malley Creadon Productions), The Convent (Vertical Entertainment) and the movies Dead Trigger and Bardo Blues. I’ll be honest that I’m a little burnt out this weekend trying to cover Tribeca (which I hope to write about very soon) as well as all the other theatrical releases. I’m not sure any of these will make that big a difference in the grand scheme of things, and this is my column, so I decide what I write about and how much I write about it.
LOCAL FESTIVALS
The 18thTribeca Film Festival continues through the weekend but if you feel like going out to the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, Queens, you can check out Panorama Europe 2019, which runs from Friday through May 19. It also takes place at the Czech CenterAND the French Embassy. It opens on Friday night at MOMI with Barbara Albert’s Austrian drama Mademoiselle Paradis, starring Maria Dragus (The White Ribbon), who will be there in person. I haven’t seen the film but I love some of Albert’s previous films, Free Radicalsand Falling, both of which I think I saw at the New York Film Festival in years past? The festival continues through the weekend with new films from all over Europe, mostly playing at MOMI but with single repeat screenings at the other two venues. This is a festival I wish I had more time to cover, as I’m sure there are some great underrated films in the festival, but sadly, I just do not have the time right now.
STREAMING AND CABLE
I’ve been wanting to see Joe Berlinger’s Ted Bundy movie EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE, starring Zac Efron, since I first heard about it, and I’m happy to say that it really lived up to my expectations. It’s as much about Bundy’s relationship with his girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall (Lily Collins) as it is about the trial against Bundy for kidnapping and murder dozens of women. I’m a big fan of Berlinger’s documentaries, and this is a fantastic second foray into dramatic work, working from a screenplay written by Michael Werwie based on the book by Kendall. Efron works well as the charming serial killer who is constantly in denial about his actions, but I also really liked Collins’ performance as the woman trying her best to support her man despite the horrible allegations against him.  Berlinger combines actual archival news footage with the performances by his cast to create something as compelling as any of Netflix’s crime docs. The film also stars John Malkovich, Jim Parsons, Haley Joel Osment, Brian Geraghty and more.
As mentioned above, Netflix will also stream the doc KNOCK DOWN THE HOUSE starting Wednesday, and other movies premiering this week include William Bindley’s coming-of-age film The Last Summer and Gabriela Tagliavini’sDespite Everything (A pesar de todo) on Friday. Clearly, there’s a lot of variety and options on Netflix this weekend… but lots of stuff in theaters, too (as seen above and below).
REPERTORY
METROGRAPH (NYC):
A bit of slower weekend for repertory stuff but the latest episode of the Academy Presents takes place on Saturday with Costa-Gravas’ 1969 film Z. Late Nites at Metrograph  will screen Gus Van Sant’s 1991 film My Own Private Idaho, starring Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix on Friday and Saturday night, and Playtime: Family Matinees  will screen Henry Koster’s 1950 film Harvey, starring James Stewart.
THE NEW BEVERLY (L.A.):
At Tarantino’s rep theater, people will have a chance to see Vincente Minnelli’s Gigi (1958), based on Colette’s novella, in a matinee on Weds.  On Weds and Thurs, there’s a double feature of cool indies with Miranda July’s Me and You and Everyone We Know  (2005) and Andrea Arnold’s Fish Tank (2009), starring Michael Fassbender. Friday and Saturday sees double features of Kathryn Bigelow’s 1987 vampire film Near Dark and Karyn Kusama’s Jennifer’s Body  (2009). MOMA (NYC):
A couple new series start here on Wednesday, including the shorterModern Matinees: On the Move series, which will show Raoul Walsh’s 1930 film The Big Trail on Weds, Alfonso Cuaron’s Y Tu Mama Tambien (2001) on Thursday, and Harold Ramis’ 1993 film Groundhogs Day on Friday. Abel Ferrara: Unratedwill also begin on Wednesday with screenings of Ferrara’s 2000 film Mulberry Street, his 1995 filmThe Addiction (with the filmmaker onhand for a QnA), Ferrara’s Chelsea on the Rocks (2008) and New Rose Hotel (1998) will screen on Thursday, then his 2014 films Welcome to New York and Pasolini on Friday. (Oddly, the latter will get its first official theatrical run at the Metrograph starting Friday, May 10.) This is a fairly extensive retrospective with Ferrara and many of his actors talking about the movies after they’re shown, and that alone might be enough to get me into midtown. MOMA is also in the midst of another series called Roberto Gavaldón: Night Falls in Mexico, running through Sunday and showing rare screenings of the works of the Mexican filmmaker’s work from the ‘40s, ‘50s and 60s.
EGYPTIAN THEATRE (LA):
The Egyptian continues to slaughter… in a repertory way … with its new series Cassavetes & Scorsese: Love is Strange, a series of double features starting Thursday with Shadows (1958 and Who’s That Knocking On My Door (1967), followed by The King of Comedy  (1982) and Opening Night  (1977) Friday and Scorsese’s 1976 film Taxi Driver and Cassavetes’ Minnie and Moskowitz (1971) on Sunday. Also, the Egyptian will have the great Jean Pierre-Jeunet on-hand to talk about his Oscar-nominated film Amelie (2001) after it screens on Saturday night.
AERO  (LA):
Meanwhile, at the Egyptian’s sister theater, we get “The Fiction and Non-Fiction of Olivier Assayas” including a double feature of Irma Vep (1996) and Summer Hours (2008) on Thursday. Edward Zwick’s 1989 film Glory will be screened on Saturday followed by a QnA with Zwick, while Jean Pierre-Jeunet appears on Sunday to show his recent film The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet as well as a double feature of The City of Lost Children (1995) and Delicatessen (1991).
FILM FORUM (NYC):
The Film Forum’s “Trilogies” series continues with Aki Kaurismäki’s “Proletariot Trilogy” of Ariel, Shadows in Paradise and The Match Factory Girl, Roberto Rossellini’s “War Trilogy” and Satyajit Ray’s “Apu Trilogy” screening screening one final time next Tuesday. You’ll also have one final time to watch Krzysztof Kieslowski’s “Three Colors Trilogy” over the weekend. The weekend’s Film Forum Jr. is the 1962 monster battle movie King Kong vs. Godzilla.
QUAD CINEMA (NYC):
James Ivory’s 1981 film Quartet is getting a 4k restoration rerelease via the Cohen Films Collection, and Ivory himself will be there Friday night for a QnA. Isabelle Adjani won the Best Actress Award at Cannes for her performance as a woman who finds shelter with a couple played by Alan Bates and Maggie Smith after her husband is imprisoned in this adaptation of Jean Rhys’s 1928 novel set during Paris of the ‘20s.
BAM CINEMATEK (NYC):
Starting Friday and running through the month is Black 90s: A Turning Point in American Cinema, beginning with Charles Burnett’s 1990 film To Sleep with Anger, starring Danny Glover, and running along with Burnett’s short When it Rains. (Burnett will be there on Friday for a QnA after his films.) Also showing Saturday is Zeinabu Irene Davis’ Compensation (1999), Julie Dash’s Daughters of the Dust(1991) and Haile Gerima’s 1993 film Sankofa and the series will run through May 22.

Film Review: Guardians of the galaxy: Vol 2
Whether you’re a marvel comic book fan or not, this film is worth seeing in theaters if you haven’t yet. The plot is not original (cough Cowboy Bebop, cough Fifth Element), but it also doesn’t rely on the comic books to create conflict. Parts of the conflict are full of suspense, but the rest is quite predictable. The cast this time around (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Micheal Rooker etc.) seemed to gel more than they did in the first film. It was also interesting to see Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord) make his way back into acting in science fiction films. He contributed to the natural humor. The humor is childish, but it keeps you engaged. The acting isn’t award worthy, but it’s still has some quality moments. I’m not a Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) fan, but this film features some of his best acting yet. To me though, the best acting performance goes to Kurt Russell (Ego). The visuals were for the most part full of energy and imagination. There was some minor hiccups in the visuals probably due to creative decisions by the director (James Gunn). The biggest strength for me was the musical score. It created a successful nostalgic atmosphere to the 1970’s, which was probably a tribute to the era of original comic book series, and not just meant to tell us Star-lord’s childhood. This film probably won’t go down as an all time great, but it’s definitely a fun one to watch. I give this film a 4 out of 5.

Never Leave - The Walking Dead Fic - Merle x OC
She was finding herself wishing she had died three weeks ago.
Life at the prison was going from Heaven to Hell in a short matter of weeks. Woodbury's makeshift army was scouting the prison, and had shot up the place on more than one occasion. It was dangerous to be outside for more than a few minutes if you didn't know how to fire a gun, or wear body armor for that matter. Everybody was extremely angry or extremely paranoid and scared, and most were at each other's throats.
Kati found herself spending more time in her cell, writing down her thoughts several times a day in her old diary. She was keeping away from Rick, who was turning more and more into a loose cannon. She helped the others with Judith, who was now only a few months old. She and Daryl were on the outs, and for what reason she didn't know. Her aunt, Carol, was livid that she had slept with Merle, who was a good thirty years older than her, and not exactly liked in the group. Glenn avoided her as much as possible, and Maggie wasn't as friendly as she used to be.
"Just gotta give everybody some time, Kati." Hershel had told her a week ago. "With everything going on, everybody here isn't very stable. We're still a family no matter what, and we will be okay."
She and Merle spent their nights together, when mostly everyone was asleep. He would sneak into her bunk and fall asleep cuddling with her, or they would talk about everything that was going on.
"I think we should leave, babygirl. You, me, and my baby brother. Just get the hell out while we still can. There's a small winda of time left." He told her one night.
"This is our family, Merle. We can't abandon them." Kati replied, sliding her fingertips up and down his chest, her head resting on his shoulder. "We just can't. What about Judy? And Carl? And my aunt...?"
"Y'all don't know The Governor like I do. Once he has something, or someone, that he thinks is a threat in his sights, might as well bend over and kiss your ass goodbye. I don't want nothin' happening to you and Daryl. Y'all are my family."
"We can get through this, together. We're weak without each other. I can't leave. And I don't want you leaving me." Kati said, looking up in his eyes.
"Fine," Merle sighed. "I'll stay. But only to save your pretty little ass, which will need saving."
"Promise?" she asked quietly, looking deep into his eyes.
"I promise. Ain't nowhere I wanna be if you ain't with me, darlin'." he replied, kissing her lips tenderly.
Two weeks had passed since Kati and Merle had their talk. War was approaching, and the entire prison was on guard. Kati was helping Carol, Maggie, Glenn, Carl, and a new member of the group, Michonne, stock up the prison inside and out with loaded firearms and grenades. Daryl, Rick, and Hershel had gone for a meeting with The Governor, set up by their friend Andrea. Merle was hostile and on edge. His baby brother was out there without backup, and he didn't like it.
"Don't set right with me, my baby brother being out there. They sittin' ducks. Y'all know that?" he said as most loaded the guns with bullets, and others packed bags full of weapons to place in certain areas of the prison.
"They will be fine. The Governor won't do anything that rash."Michonne spoke up.
"You don't know him like I do. He will. And if anything happens to Daryl... Well, it's y'alls asses." Merle warned.
"There's nothing we can do. If we go back them up, they could be killed on the spot. Then we could get killed. We told Rick we would hold down the prison while they're gone, and that is EXACTLY what we are doing." Glenn snapped.
"And what if your pretty little girlfriend had gone? Would we be doing what Officer Friendly wanted then? I don't think so, China Boy." Merle scoffed.
"Merle, please." Kati said, eyeing him with pleading eyes.
"My dad will be fine. He can take care of himself!" Carl said, handing a heavy bag of guns to Maggie.
"Sorry, son, but your daddy's head may soon be on a pike."
"Merle, shut up. Don't tell him that!" Maggie cut in, glaring at him.
Carl went off with Carol outside to load up the dock and the towers with their weapons.
"I'm just bein' honest. Y'all must be dumber than a box of rocks. Fuck this. I ain't letting Daryl get killed, or my girl. I'm doin' what shoulda been done by now." Merle replied, walking over to a filled back of weapons.
"Merle, no. You said you wouldn't do this!" Kati hissed, standing in front of the bag.
"I'm doing this for you, babygirl. You and Daryl. You two are the only ones who matter to me. I'm blowing The Governor's Goddamn head off then comin' back for you." he said, lightly pushing her out of the way and grabbing the bag.
"Merle, go take Kati up to her cell. You aren't leaving. We told your brother and Rick we would stay here. That is what we're doing." Glenn said, standing in front of the door.
"Get out of my way, boy." Merle snapped as he stood in front of Glenn, glaring down at him.
"No. Take your girl and get out of here." Glenn replied calmly, standing his ground.
"Merle, come on. Come with me. Please." Kati said, anxiously.
"You wanna play it that way? Fine." Merle said, smiling.
He grabbed Glenn by the waist as they tumbled down the steps. Kati tried grabbing Merle and pulling him off, but he shoved her into the table, where her back hit the sharp edge of it. Merle punched Glenn in the face twice, then drew his knife from his armored forearm. Maggie jumped up and on his back, putting him in a choke hold. Michonne went over to help Maggie, trying to pull Merle off of the now bloody Glenn. Kati sat there shaking, her eyes wide and her back searing with pain. She was frozen and didn't know what to do.
"Merle, stop!" Kati screamed, trying to stand up on shaky legs.
"Get off him!" Maggie screamed, smacking him with her free hand.
"ENOUGH!" Beth shouted and fired two shots into the ceiling, making everybody look in her direction.
"Get off me! Get off of me!" Merle yelled, finally freeing Glenn from his grasp.
Maggie checked on Glenn, who had a busted lip and his right eye began to swell. Beth walked over and helped Kati up on her feet, Carol speeding toward her as Michonne took Carl to check on his sister.
"Are you okay?!" Carol asked, hugging Kati.
"I'm fi-fine. Just a scratch." Kati stammered.
Carol turned Kati around gently to see the so-called scratch. What she saw sent her into a rage.
"You EVER touch my niece like that again, Merle, and The Governor will be the least of your problems!" she screeched.
"What? Shit... Kati..." he said, looking at her.
She had a gash on her back that went down her spine. The sharp edge of the table cut into her from the top of her back between her shoulderblades, and down to the small of her back. She hit the floor after and landed on a bag of guns. It had started to go light purplish in color, and she had tears in her eyes.
"Sweetheart I'm sorry... You can't get in the way like that..." he said, inching toward her slowly.
"If you-you're going to leave, th-then leave. Don't t-t-touch me." Kati sniffled, and walked off to her cell, Carol and Beth in tow.
"Shit..." Merle mumbled, and walked after them.
Beth sat with her, cleaning up the little blood from the scratches. She tried to carefully clean up the dried blood around the bruising on her back, and Kati was sobbing into Carol's shoulder, while Carol promised her it would be alright.
"I don't kn-now what to d-do. I..." she trailed off, wincing every time Beth touched her cuts and bruise.
"Can I talk to you alone, honey?" Merle asked from the doorway.
"Get the fuck out of here, you asshole!" Carol barked.
"I'm done here, I gotta go check on Maggie and Glenn. Call if you need me, okay?" Beth said, giving Kati a hug.
"Thank you.." Kati said, looking over at Merle with puffy red eyes.
"Please... I didn't want to hurt ya. I was tryin' to prevent that. Kati, please... You know I wouldn't do that. " He said, looking at her with an exasperated expression.
"I'll come see you when we're done here. Thank you aunt Carol." Kati said, giving her a hug.
"You scream if you need me. I'll come running." Carol said, walking out and glaring at Merle.
She stood in front of the bunk, her arms wrapped around herself and her eyes on the floor. Her long brownish-blonde locks of hair hugging her shoulders, and covering most of her face. She let out a small whimper as her blue-green eyes looked up at him.
"Come here." Merle said, standing still in the doorway.
"Please don't. You promised me. You promised me you wouldn't leave. We would stick it out." Kati said, looking up at him with fresh tears in her eyes. "Not too long ago you asked me if I was gonna try to leave you again. I said I wouldn't so long as you weren't goin' anywhere. Then two weeks ago you promised me you'd stay. You promised me, Merle Dixon. You promised me you was staying. And now you're trying... You're... You're trying to..." Kati trailed off, her whole body shaking and her bottom lip quivering.
He sighed and finally walked over to her, taking her in his arms. She shoved him back, slapping him hard across the face.
"No! Don't! Just please don't..." she sniffled.
He grabbed her and held her tight against his body as she tried to push him off. Once she finally gave in and gripped his shoulder blades, she leaned her body into his and cried into his shirt.
"I'm here, babygirl. I'm here. I'm sorry. I won't leave." Merle said, quietly whispering into her ear while his hand rubbed where she was bruising. "You know I ain't goin' noplace without my lady." he whispered, taking in the scent of her hair and kissing the top of her head.
"Please don't leave. Please." Kati sobbed into his tight black shirt, gripping his shoulder blades even tighter than before.
"Hey, hey look at me now." He said, his hand moving up from her back and gripping her chin. "I go no damn place without you. You're by my side the entire time, no matter what or I don't go. I won't leave you, darlin'. I'm so sorry I hurt you..." He said, caressing her cheek with the back of his hand as she leaned her cheek into his hand, his eyes searching hers for some sort of recognition of his words.
"Its o-okay. I know you'd never hurt me inten-tentionally." She said, holding onto his waist now, tears silently falling down her cheeks.
"That was not okay. What I did to the poor bastard wasn't okay, and laying my hand on you like that... I lost my cool and I'm sorry about that, baby. I would never touch you in a violent way. I... You know." He said, avoiding her stare.
"I know what?" she asked, holding on to him to keep from falling down. She was still so shaken up.
"Let's lay you down, huh?" He asked, lifting her up in his arms, their lips meeting for several seconds as they made their way to the bunk.
He set her in the bed, then crawled in beside her. She crawled closer to him, gripping his side and laying her head on his chest. He pulled the sheet over them to keep her warm and close to him, looking down at her as she rested her head on his chest comfortably. His heart was trying to beat out of his chest, which made her look up at him worriedly.
"Your heart... It's beating like crazy. Are you alright?" she asked, cupping his face in her hands, her body leaning against his.
"I'm fine. I just.. I love you." He mumbled.
"What?" She asked again, ,moving her hands down on his pecs. She was sure she misheard him.
"I said I love you, babygirl," his arms locked around her protectively and his hand rested on her ass. "I really do."
She didn't know what to say. Merle and feelings didn't go in the same sentence. But hearing the words, and seeing the look of sincere affection and care on his face. Her heart melted. She loved him too.
"And I love you, Merle Dixon. So much. That's why I just can't lose you." she whispered.
"You'll never lose me. I'll always be here, fighting alongside you. Keeping you safe." he whispered, his eyes looking from hers and down to her body.
She moved to the side of him and looked at him, a devilish grin stretching across her pouty lips. She pulled off his tear soaked shirt before beginning to kiss his neck passionately. He grunted in her ear, his upper body tensing from each delicate, deep kiss. His nails gripped into her ass, holding her lower body against him.
"Damn, baby... What you do to me." he moaned.
"Shhh. Your babygirl is gonna take care of you for once." she whispered, leaning down to kiss his lips as she straddled his lower body.
She whimpered, feeling him getting a hardon as she moved her lower body on top of his, nice and slow. His hand grabbed her hip and guided her down, allowing her to feel everything. She grinded her hips forward, becoming wet as she felt his cock fighting to be freed from his pants. His arm muscles tensed up, and she eyed them. She always loved his arms. They were so big, and so strong. She never felt anything but safe when he locked them around her waist. And holding onto them during sex made her so wet.
He grunted, moving his lower body up into hers roughly, making her moan. He tore off her tight camo top, revealing she had gone braless that day. His hand cupped one of her C-cup breasts as he leaned up a bit to take her nipple from her other breast in his mouth. She cried out his name, her nerve endings going into overdrive as she slammed down on his clothed cock. She raked her nails down his muscular chest, making him grunt as he continued to suck on her nipple, and his other hand rubbing her breast and pinching her other nipple gently, making both perk up from the attention they were receiving. As he let go, he looked in her eyes again, panting.
"Sweetheart, you deserve to be taken care of, especially after this..." he trailed off, his eyes growing sad when he ran his hand over the scratches on her back.
When she winced it made him feel even worse. He flipped her down onto her back gently, his arms locked around her protectively and his body lying atop of hers.
"I want to cater to you, Merle." she whispered sweetly against his lips.
"Later. Right now, my babygirl gets pampering." he whispered back, his lips overtaking hers and their tongues fighting once more for dominance as her hands rested on his muscular back. She moaned, taking in his saliva as their tongues glided against each other, enjoying the texture of each other's tongues. She pinned him down on top of her, her nails digging into his back.
He forced her legs open and pinned his lower body into hers, grinding his boner into her, making her squirm and moan. He pulled away and started leaving sweet kisses down her neck and slender shoulders, his hand sliding down her stomach. She raked her nails down his back, leaving little pink scratches that made him grunt and look in her eyes with a look of lust and annoyance.
"What have I told you, girl? No touchin' of any kind 'til I say so." he said in a deep voice.
"What you gonna do if I don't, hm?" she said in a small yet seductive voice.
"Mmm you wanna play those games, huh? I'll show you what I'm gonna do then." he grunted into the moist flesh of her neck, making a shiver run down her spine.
He bit her bottom lip, tugging on it hard as he ripped down her capri pants, making her gasp. He was getting harder and she could feel her whole body starting to quiver. She went to slide down his beige slacks but moved her hands away, his tongue forcing its way into her mouth, quieting her moans and cries.
He lifted her ass a bit off the bed to finish pulling off her capris, throwing them in the corner of the cell. He then leaned down and used his teeth to drag down her booty shorts, looking up at her as she watched him in delight. He threw them with the rest of her clothes and his shirt, then unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, sliding them and his boxers down to his ankles as he leaned over her body again, looking down at her curves in awe.
"I think we gotta get you warmed up first, huh?" he said, plunging two of his fingers inside her wet pussy. "Damn, you're already so wet for me."
"God, Merle. Don't tease me like that. Fuck me, and fuck me hard!" she growled impatiently.
"In due time, sexy." he winked.
He curled his fingers inside her as he began to pump them in and out, making Kati moan his name quietly. His thumb played with her clit, applying pressure on it as his fingers pumped up against her g-spot, making her gasp and cry out. He smirked, feeling her inner walls clutching around his meaty fingers, and just as she was about to cum, he removed them and stopping playing with her clit. Her legs were shaking violently and her body shook, looking up at him with wide eyes.
"Now, I think you're ready." he said, licking her moistness from his fingers. "Come here, now." he ordered, pulling her body up against his as he plunged his throbbing cock deep into her soaked pussy.
"Oh my God, Merle!" she gasped, biting down on the sweet spot of his neck.
She rocked her hips against his as he slowly and torturously slid inside her. She felt every solid inch of his cock, the tip hitting her g-spot slowly at first, and then hard again and again. She was so close to cumming. Her nails were digging into his shoulder blades as she kissed his biceps and stared into his eyes. He was looking back into hers as he grunted and bit his bottom lip in concentration.
"God you're tight, just how I like it." he moaned seductively in her ear.
"I'm about to cum!" she cried, her walls tightening, making it tougher for him to enter her.
"Cum for me, baby. Come on." he said, his eyes never looking away from hers.
His arms wrapped around her waist, and his lips traveled from her shoulders and down her chest bone. He sucked hard on her collarbone, down to her breasts, and over her stomach. He ran his tongue up her body and into her mouth as she let her tongue slide against his, her hands resting on his lower back. Just as she was about to grab his ass and force him deeper inside her, his hand grabbed her throat and held her down on the bed, looking in her eyes.
"Fuck, I'm coming!" she gasped, her eyes rolling back in her head.
"Babygirl I'm almost there. Cum for me, come on. That's my girl. Oh!" he grunted as her cum sloshed over his rock hard cock.
"Oh God, sweetheart, there it is." he moaned against her left breast, his own cum filling her and sending a warm wave throughout her entire body.
His body collapsed on top of hers, his arms locking tight around her again. He let his head rest against her boobs, panting. Their sweat mixed together as they held each other, their hearts hammering against their chest cavities. She kissed his forehead and rubbed his back, whispering that she loved him.
"I love you, too, Kati." he said, looking down at her as he pulled out and slid over beside her.
"I think that's the first time you've ever said my name." She smiled, moving over to him and resting her head on his chest. "I like it."
"You have a very pretty name, darlin'. I should say it more often." he chuckled, taking her body in his arms and kissing the top of her head.
"So no more fights? No more trying to leave?" Kati asked, sliding her fingertips up and down his chest.
"No more. I can protect you here just as good as going to Woodbury." he replied, his fingertips sliding up and down her spine.
"We're all in this together, Merle. We can make it." she said reassuringly.
"I know. I know, Kati. Its us against the world, babygirl."

New thing:::Cosplay
This month I will be attending my first ultra nerd convention. IM FUCKING STOKED. Many people don’t know this about me but I’m a bit of a geek. Fantasy, sci-fi, anime, comic books, graphic novels, paranormal time traveling historical fiction..I dig em all. I’m excited to see the booths, all the merchandise, already bought my ticket for a picture with Michael Rooker. But the true highlight of the experience will be my cosplay!!! I’m a huge fan of dressing up (in my horde of housewives I’m known as the ‘extra’ one) so obviously I can’t pass up this opportunity! It’s not commonly spoken about in the black community but the cosplay struggle is TRILL for people of color. There’s a sort of unspoken accord that one should cosplay within their race. Luckily I’ve never liked sticking to the rules of color matching (my husband is the whitest Italian Scott you’ll ever meet 😉) therefore I say DAMN THE RULES OF RACIALLY COORDINATED COSPLAY! I am putting together my concept now and I think I chose well. My first cosplay shall be… Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service!!!! 👏👏👏 So far I’ve decided to do my own take on the original teen witch. My dress is a bit shorter, my heels might be a little higher, and I’m ditching the broom (kind of inconvenient when walking around a convention center for 8-13hours) Later I’ll post some pics of the pieces I’m getting together. After that I’ll post my attempt at making the iconic Kiki hair bow. I’ll be making it tonight or tomorrow. Wish me luck!!! VP.

We’re Off to See the Wizard World!
by Jay S. Jacobs
Wizard World Comic-Con touched down in Philadelphia again as freaks, geeks, aliens, superheroes, gamers, mad slashers and B-actors all made their way to the Convention Center this past weekend. (June 1 to June 4.) It was where fantasy met commerce in an awe-inspiring, sense-pulsing dance, where fans and the famous rubbed elbows and shared their particular obsessions with like-minded friends.
Tumblr media
Philly’s Wizard World has always been a little more manageable and less overwhelming than its San Diego and New York cousins, and yet it shares the basic principles of fun and fandom.
Tumblr media
The Philly convention has downshifted a little bit after last year’s superstar-a-looza. (The cast of Thor! The cast of Captain America! The cast of Back to the Future! The cast of X-Files!) This year, the celebrity guest list was a bit more earthbound (fine actors all, but none are exactly superstars) – Jesse Eisenberg, John Cusack and Famke Janssen were the biggest names on display. Charlie Sheen had to cancel in the weeks leading up to the show, and Paul Bettany was a last-minute no-show. The CW’s hip new Archie rethink Riverdale had the only full-cast appearance.
Tumblr media
However, things were made more inclusive for a wider range of fans. There was a whole horror cross-section. There were live concerts by aging rockers Gene Simmons and Don Dokken, and well-known video game composers, not to mention a performance of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, complete with film star Barry Bostwick and two rival Rocky Horror cosplay troupes. Gaming, animation, fantasy literature; all had significant presences.
Tumblr media
Some of the celebrity panels were a little inscrutable – what was the deal with Gene Simmons’ oddball early morning financial seminar on how to become a greedy millionaire like him? (Though it was oddly amusing to see the KISS rocker casually admit that if he was caught in a burning building with his kids, he would have to save himself over them, because so many people “rely” on him.) Yet some of the panels were unbelievably fun. If you ever get a chance to see Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Michael Rooker speak, do not miss the opportunity. He’s funnier than many professional comedians. And the cast talk about Riverdale featuring stars KJ Apa, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse was a good-natured treat. You could tell how much the cast liked each other and loved their show. I for one am going to be binge-watching the series simply because of seeing this chat.
Tumblr media
A multitude of other celebs were happy to meet and greet their fans, take pictures and give autographs (for a price, of course…) They came from all over the spectrum of genre culture, everyone from original Star Trek icon Nichelle Nichols, 80s faves Ralph Macchio and C. Thomas Howell, original Buffy Kristy Swanson, Nightmare on Elm Street survivor Heather Langenkamp, and even comic actors like Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite) and Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie).
Tumblr media
Of course, like most years, the fans were the real show. Dressed up as their favorite heroes and villains, the people of Philadelphia put on a spontaneous costume fest that was complex and varied. They disappeared into other personalities and were stars for the day, happily posing in character for anyone who asked, though it was a tiny bit disturbing to see how many 50-ish guys were stopping hot young Harley Quinn cosplayers for pictures. But, what the heck, a little lecherousness is a component of cosplay, too. Besides no one dresses like Harley Quinn if they don’t want the attention.
Tumblr media
There were also dozens of Spider-Men, lots of Game of Thrones characters (big props to the woman who used cardboard swords to make her wheelchair into a traveling throne), tons of Jokers, lots of Wonder Women, throngs of Captain America’s, colonies of Batmen, a full-sized Groot, a very fun costume take on Eleven in Stranger Things (Lego waffle box included) and many, many more.
Tumblr media
We also had displays for long-awaited films like a photo sewer for Stephen King’s It, a bigger-than-life-size photo stand for the new Spider-Man film, a whole bus for the upcoming Tupac bio-pic All Eyez On Me, and a huge Dark Tower teaser template.
And, of course, pretty much any piece of memorabilia you could think of was available in the stuffed booths, from artwork to books, games to lasers, clothes to comics. There were specific areas for gamers (video and board), and more hand spinners than you can shake a stick at.
Tumblr media
For four days we disappeared into this black hole of passion, fandom, make-believe and commerce. Particularly in our increasingly complex society, Wizard World was a welcome respite from the real world. Lord knows we’re going back out there soon enough. As the old t-shirt used to read: “Reality is just a crutch for people who can’t handle science fiction.”
