can’t explain it but bruce wayne has stepmom energy. a rich, goth, very cool and somewhat intimidating stepmom energy. that this is only towards kon. i don’t care if u ship superbat but ur dad doesn’t need to be married for someone to be ur stepmom lol.

and bruce is a lame dad in boat shorts and a pink polo to all his kids plus the moochers that is dick’s friends but then he’d show up at kon’s school in a limo, black turtleneck and sunglasses in 48 degree kansas heat, kombucha in hand with a frilly straw and he’s like “ur dad is busy so i’m picking u up. get in.”

okay so to preface this: these two aren’t going to show up. neither is augustus. for all intents and purposes, they're dead (that will be delved into later), so don’t ask about them (yet). these are just spur of the moment designs too, so i might change them later depending on how i feel. none of them share a mother but i didn’t feel like drawing the moms nsjkdgs

anti-manic and anti-sonia don’t know their dad either, and all 3 of them don’t know about each other, so oof

anti-manic (no name yet lol) is very vain and self-centered. he was the silver spoon child, so he’s spoiled and entitled. he hates the idea of getting dirty and doesn’t like people touching him. he’s rude and stuck-up and generally unpleasant. an asshole. he wears platform boots because he likes to feel tall

then there’s blourge (blue scourge). you know him. he thought he was a single child but it turns out he’s not

his dad, the politician. he tried his best in his job and wanted to make the world a better place, but in turn he didn’t spend a lot of time with his son and wasn’t very present in his life. he didn’t mean to, he just got busy. in an ideal world he would have dropped everything to take care of his boy, but that didn’t happen, and scourge ended up resenting him as a result. oops

then anti-sonia (thinking about naming her savant) was the one dumped into poverty. she’s quiet and kind of anti-social. she comes across as rude and blunt at first, but she’s literally just trying to survive. she’s very tired. she doesn’t know that augustus is her dad, but she’s seen him working towards this vague idea of peace and doesn’t think that’s enough. she’s less about words and more about direct action. fuck the police

I will be taking a hiatus from working on the comic for the time being due to lack of motivation. I do not know when I will be back with more entries. I will let you know when the comic is back up and running.

There was an entry here before that was to start a story arc, but thinking about it, it wasn't until after I initially decided to do a story arc and had already finished the first entry for it that I had started losing motivation to work on the comic. I don't want it to be for nothing, since @zeromooncat already made some art for one of the panels (it was for the last panel of the first part too) and I don't want that time and effort to go to waste... but at the same time, I'm not happy with how the story arc started anymore. Continuing it how it is now would just not feel right to me.

I'll put the story arc stuff back here for preservation, but do know it isn't canon anymore!

Stolas makes it absolutely, crystal clear that he is going to give Blitzø the Asmodean crystal, no strings attatched, and step out of his life forever if that's what Blitzø truly wants.

No matter how much it pains him, no matter if he has to spend the rest of eternity alone, he is willing to let Blitzø go.

He knows that a huge part of what's driving them apart and hurting Blitzø is himself and his actions.

Even though he vows to make amends, to be better, to try to understand Blitzø's pain, he acknowledges the possibility that there's nothing he can do to mend the rift between them.

He knows that the choice to stay by his side is ultimately Blitzø's to make. Even if it destroys him, he's not going to take that choice away from him.

Rick describing Thalia in Sea of Monsters as "somewhere between a punk and a goth" (plus every subsequent time he uses "emo" and "goth" interchangeably to describe Nico, and that one time Percy describes his ideal self as punk) tells me Rick has no idea what music/fashion subculture terminology is.

im like 90% sure he thinks "goth" and "emo" are the same thing. He's literally just describing emo/punk here. there is nothing here that screams "goth." this was 2006. sir.
