This blog is dedicated to the markov namegen name stashes.
You can use names generated for free and for any purpose!
Each post contains 444 names, sometimes 888 (because I add an alternative version of the list with different generation rules out of the same seed/input) or <444 (because the site couldn't combine enough names). This number is chosen for no particular reason.
You can suggest seeds/source material for new name stashes in personal messages, comments, or the ask box.
Note that all names presented are randomly generated, thus I do not carry any responsibility if any of them sound bad, carry rude or explicit meaning in some and any language (you gotta check it yourself before you use it, okay?) and if any of them match already existing real or fictional people names, or are just words. If you want to, get to know how the Markov generator works.
You can easily browse the names using this link. Just go there and press "Ctrl+f" or "Ctrl+g" which will activate a search on page pop-up menu in your browser, then just find anything your heart desires.
There exists an add-on blog, sprout of this one dedicated to some particular seeds/inputs, and perhaps tutorials on how to do your own stashes if you want to: @444namesplus.
The following segment is a newsboard of sorts:
Someone asked me why my blog has a map for a profile icon. Think about it. Billions of places, billions of people and all have a name or even several. I think it's just poetic
Again, I don't separate names by gender because 1) too much work and 2) it's up to you if some name sounds feminine or masculine. Same with pronunciation.
Not so long ago we hit 1 000 stashes. Dasalot of Names, let's keep going.
Really losing interest in this blog lately. Hope I don't stop posting completely because I like doing stuff on here.
At some point in mid-September 2023 I've changed the formatting of the posts in an attempt to attract more followers. Older posts will remain as they are, while all new ones will be done the way they are right now with a possibility of me dropping the idea sometime in the future.
Before you accuse me of using AI, learn what Markov chains are because that's what I am using to make the stashes. The link is right there above. I'm so fucking tired of people with 0 reading comprehension accusing me of using something I avidly hate.
If you followed this blog and you're new around, PLEASE let me know if you enjoy the content*
*(I cannot really call it "art" since I am just operating a program generating the names by feeding it datasets from various sources I filter and format to be read correctly)
Send an ask, say a couple warm words, you can also ask for a series of stashes on some specific theme like "cities in Florida", "Warrior Cats character names" or "Pirates of the Caribbean actors cast".
My fav thing about TAZ is that any aspect out of context sounds fucking bonkers.
Like, in the balance finale there's a scene in which Garfield (who is very specifically never described visually bc most people imagine him as like. The Lasagna Cat. Who in this universe is the most powerful warlock in the realm and also has a hobby of cloning people, which is great for the one character that got forced into haunting a mannequin) is summoned by an alien spaceship that runs on the power of friendship so he could beat up some flashing balls. In D&D.
And that was just. Such a normal scene in the narrative. No one blinked an eye. I would like to bow down to Griffins clear unmatched talent for making me feel such big emotions over ridiculous shit like a goddamned umbrella or a regular ass pair of jeans or the idea of a taco recipe.
Does anyone else think it’s fascinating how nicknames develop? Like sometimes a nickname is a logical shortening of a name, sometimes it’s a different part of their name, like a last name or a middle name, and sometimes it’s completely random, manifesting out of a series of twisting inside jokes and memories that is impossible to explain and you’re just like, “Oh yeah, that’s our friend, The Ball, don’t mind him.”
very simple and LAZY lineup sketch of my characters + a wip!!!! i liked the poses!!!!
first guy (logri) is the wizard (silmeran)'s old master. dead in the dnd canon but alive in my heart <3 he rescued him while he was a kid on a quest to find an artifact after fleeing his village.
and he was like: damn bro you're crazy you need to Learn Magic to handle stuff like that. local elf decides to actually learn magic and finds his Purpose. the artifact is a surprise tool that becomes relevant again later.
then blabla you got grumpy wizard guy and the gendernothing, name in progress dryad being bros for 100+ years
i made a bad name generator perfect for your rpg characters etc. bit janky bc i had to fiddle with it to get it right(ish). click here to find your new name
the name parts are a mix of stuff i saw somewhere, generated by novelai, or just words
Now I don’t mind this established trope at all where people are basically ants in the minds of dragons, but then, just once in any fantasy media or campaign I want a dragon or other massive higher creature that responds to the existence to humans in the exact way that I do to bugs.
Dragon that stops flying because it saw someone sleeping in a field and pokes them with a branch out of sheer curiosity to check if they’re dead or not.
Dragon that watches goblins scurry into one of their little huts and just pries the roof off to stare at them and look at the inside of their little shelter before putting it back down with a satisfied grin and leaving.
Dragon that sees a person treading water in the middle of a lake or the ocean, carefully plucks them out, and sets them down on dry land. Maybe puts a goat’s leg in their lap in case they need a snack. Also calls them “Harold” for no apparent reason.
Very young dragon that screams and freaks out upon seeing a bearded man with brightly colored robes and a pointed hat until it realizes the guy isn’t casting any spells. “Ohhhh you’re a wizard mimic” and then proceeds to handle the guy for a few minutes, fascinated. It also addresses the dude as “Craig” the entire time.
Dragon grabs a wild boar and repeatedly starts placing it in front of a town because it wants to see some hunting behavior in action.
Thief gets caught sneaking into a dragon’s lair. Resident reptile roars and is seemingly about to obliterate them when its mate suddenly comes rushing in with a giant cup. They have a grumbly back and forth before the thief is scooped up and promptly brought to be dropped off at the nearest random village. Dragon’s mate refers to the thief as “Sullivan SillyMan” the whole way.
Dragon that encounters a member of a humanoid race it has never heard of or seen before, at least in this region. Stops everything it’s doing and immediately kidnaps the individual. Speeds back to its lair and keeps them imprisoned while trying to flip through some tomes. Eventually drags out a magical item that they use to open a communication with another dragon, describing the prisoner, showing them the prisoner, exchanging friendly banter. There’s a whole 30 minute to and hour convo and everything. Dragon refers to the captive as “Thaddeus” the whole time. Last thing it does is sketch out a drawing of the person before taking them back to where they found them and turning them loose again.
Leaving me at my desk with my bits out is dangerous when I have motivation.
Almost done with this one, just need to find a 25mm square base and let the right elbow set before figuring which shield to give her.
Need to get mockup pics of each of these. I wanna go with the gnarly one, fluff her as essentially a radical fiend-slayer type, use the power that works against the foe, damn the fact that this thing is obviously cursed, but it's a smidge on the small side, so maybe i go with the stormcast shield? Or the round one to give a more grounded feel and emphasize...
