absolutely fascinated by people saying the darkling committed genocide. is this the result of them not reading the books or is this the result of stringent moral policing in fandom spaces defining how people interpret media online? or perhaps is this the result of said moral policing creating a feedback loop of misinformation for those that don't remember the books too well?

Does anyone else think it’s fascinating how nicknames develop? Like sometimes a nickname is a logical shortening of a name, sometimes it’s a different part of their name, like a last name or a middle name, and sometimes it’s completely random, manifesting out of a series of twisting inside jokes and memories that is impossible to explain and you’re just like, “Oh yeah, that’s our friend, The Ball, don’t mind him.”

Has anybody on here tried an experiment where they've used a completely personal to them (unknown otherwise) correspondence on ANOTHER PERSON with success?

This scene has been haunting me:
This was one of Sailom’s first nights. He was feeling a little overwhelmed, tossing and turning, and his first instinct was to go to talk to Kang.
it’s so telling of how much of a source of security Kang has become to him that Sailom went to go find him in the first place.
And also, what was he going to say?? Was he going to knock ever so gently to see if Kang might happen to still be awake? If so, was he going to suggest they play video games or did he just want to stay up talking?
What kills me is Kang probably was awake! We’ve been shown repeatedly that Kang has trouble sleeping — he was probably laying in bed thinking about how Sailom was just one bedroom away. He probably would’ve been excited for the company!
I feel so robbed for what could have been but also am hopeful for the possibility of a late night visit making a return later —

one of the criticisms I have about the Dungeon Meshi manga that I hope they do more to alleviate in the anime is just that Falin is, like, barely a character. She's really just there as a plot device to explain why Laios and company have to go back to the dungeon underprepared in the beginning to the series. And having a character really be a plot device in disguise is fine in theory, but in Falin's case it sometimes creates this weird disconnect where Laios and/or Marcille are talking about how great Falin is and how much they love her and the audience is just like "I don't know this girl so like. sorry I guess?" Like the emotional moments don't hit because we as the viewer have no emotional attachment to her
But where I'm going with this is I want a filler episode that's just dragon Falin and Sissel doing shit in the dungeon. I just think it would be very fun and would provide some much-needed characterization to both characters
