author's thoughts. you know, every time i see anyone like anything from the dad!pantalone series, i'm like... wow??? i wrote that a while ago and people still find it enjoyable..... anyway getting an ask related to it made me all giddy!!!!!! so of course i responded asap. also me, i do that, i call that dottore clone boattore LMAO i also call him psi, but i like boattore better. it's silly and goofy. also god i welcome asks related to this series with open arms! i love talking about it. i think i should make a tag for it tbh... initially, i wasn't going to, because i didn't plan on expanding upon it, but it's still popular with tumblr users, so... yeah. i'll probably make a tag for it.

il dottore's relationship with [name] is... complicated. it varies from clone to clone.

first off, to answer your question—yes! [name] absolutely has their own silly nicknames for the clones, mainly because they take pleasure in knowing how much it annoys them. the clones can't really do much of anything about it, either. they all just have to tolerate [name]'s antics, because... well. pantalone handles all of the fatui's finances, you know? they can't exactly tell his kid to stop being an annoying little brat, lest they decide to complain to the regrator about the clones' behavior. they wouldn't. they're mature enough not to complain to their father about things like that (for the most part, anyway).

some of the clones find [name]'s nicknames kind of funny... but most of the dottores find it annoying. it sucks to be them, because [name] finds their annoyance very funny.

it's a trait they got from their father, really, because he also finds amusement in the doctor's agitation, but he's more partial to prime dottore's agitation. his kid finds it funnier to annoy the younger segments.

as i've mentioned before, dottore prime is one of [name]'s tutors. he's also the only one that has any kind of authority over them, but only within their tutoring hours. after that? they're free to agitate him all they want, however... they once discovered that some of their work had become inexplicably more difficult after they messed with him outside of tutoring hours. when they asked about it, dottore had told them that if they had the time to be a nuisance to him, then they must have had the time to study harder as well, surely? what else would they be doing with all of that freetime? surely being a sheer and utter brat to him didn't take up all of that freetime? he only had to do increase the rigor of their work one single time for them to get the message. they don't bother him anymore.

(if someone decides to address their sudden politeness towards prime dottore, as their father did once, they get very flustered and annoyed, quickly changing the conversation to another subject. they hate to admit that the doctor in his prime has ultimately won... at least they can freely bother his segments without suffering the same humiliating defeat.)

on the other end of the scale, there's webttore. webtoon dottore—i call him beta, personally. the goofy segment with no fashion sense. yeah, that one. he's always about three seconds away from tearing their throat out. their smug aura mocks him. now, funnily enough, if anyone else so much as indicates that they're having violent thoughts towards [name]? he doesn't take that well. he's sort of like a brother to them; he's someone they're always at odds with but he's also someone who would not hesitate to tear apart anyone who threatens [name]'s safety. he always needs new test subjects! he'd rather die than so much as imply that he has any kind of attachment to them, though. it's an interesting dynamic, to say the least.

oh, and might i add...

[name] wouldn't take primettore's decision to destroy all the other clones too well.

In the bedroom, he sits down carefully next to Buck and strokes his lower back gently, a soft sigh of relief escaping Buck’s lips as he feels the warmth of Eddie’s hand on his skin. “You’re in labor” Eddie states, his heart skipping a beat as a fatigued Buck sits up to meet his eyes in the darkened room. Buck swallows harshly, feeling bad for lying again. “Yes” He says and bites down on his lip, chewing on it gently as he places his hand on Eddie’s stubbled cheek. “Why didn’t you say anything?” Eddie’s heart aches in his chest, hating that Buck kept a truth from him once more. But this time, he was more willing to hear the reasoning why. “I didn’t want to take your time with your family away, I wanted you to be able to celebrate Christmas with them and to not worry about me. Besides he’s not supposed to be here for another three weeks and I think that-… that I didn’t say anything because that would make it all a little more real. I’m not ready, Eds. I’m not ready for this” Buck’s words are dripping with sincerity and he even sniffles quietly a few times to calm his racing heart down. Eddie reaches onto the nightstand and turns on the lamp, wanting and needing to look at Buck right now. He cups Buck’s head in his hands, feeling warm tears making their way down the sides of Buck’s face and he lets out a deep breath, one that had seemingly been growing inside of him because the pressure on his chest lessens. “Hey, let’s just get one thing clear, okay?” Eddie begins and tilts Buck’s head carefully, making him look into his eyes. “You are my family, mi amor. You and our son are my family too and I will always, always worry about you. Even if you don’t say it out loud. And I don’t want you to hide something like this just because my family is around. We’re in this together” He says, concern etched deep into his face as he holds eye contact with Buck, not letting him look away. “And I know that he isn’t supposed to be here just yet but we’ll handle it. We’re ready, you are ready, baby. You hear me?” His voice grows a little more firm as Buck averts his gaze and shakes his head, not wanting to hear it. “What if I’m a horrible dad? What if…” Buck wipes his tears away with the back of his hand, all of his unspoken fears bubbling to the surface as another contraction surges through his body, making him wince in pain and surprise. “What if he’s like me, Eddie? What if he’s an omega too? I spent so many years hating who I was because of it, feeling like I wasn’t good enough. What if I’m just as strict as my father and I can’t love him how I’m supposed to?” Buck’s voice breaks at the end of his sentence, insecurities washing over him like a tidal wave, sweeping away all of the confidence that he’s spent years building, with it, leaving nothing but a wreck of a man. “You are not your father, Evan. Just being able to recognize that you don’t want to be like your father is already a step in the right direction. I know that you will never hurt him like your father has hurt you, I know that you will help our son build the confidence and strength to be proud of who he is, no matter what. I know that you already love him and would do anything to see him happy. You are going to an amazing dad, you already are an amazing dad, promising to not be like your own and loving our son so damn much” Eddie’s speech is filled with adoration, love and so much pride in knowing that he’s creating a family with someone like Buck. Someone who loves so unconditionally. Someone who, in the face of adversity, is still able to show others how strong that he is. Someone who’s kind and caring. Someone makes Eddie want to be a better version of himself. That’s the man that Eddie knows that he’ll love for the rest of his life.

"Binnie, what're you doing here?" You asked, surprised as you walked further into the apartment, Minho trailing behind you.

Changbin sighed, "Well, since you're being a grade A dumbass," you sputtered, indignantly, but stopped when he gave you a look. "and aren't listening to reason, I figured I'd stay here with you tonight, for my own mental health at least." He glanced over at Minho, who had moved to the side to give you both some space. "But I didn't realize you had company though. Lee Minho, huh?"

"Why'd you say his name like that?" You raised an eyebrow, your earlier blush returning with a vengeance at Changbin's teasing tone.

"I just thought you were 'terrified of him'." He raised his fingers in quotes, smirking.

"Oh my god, I was wrong. I learned to not judge a book by it's cover, okay?" You groaned, refusing to look at Minho, embarrassed that even though you had (drunkenly) told him your first impression yourself, Changbin was bringing it up so brazenly.

"Oh wait, was he the guy you were texting the other night?" Changbin teased. "Is that why he walked you home?"

You threw your hands up, already done with this conversation. "No, it's because he lives here!"

Changbin blinked, so surprised at the answer that all tormenting was dropped. "Lives here?"

"Yes, he's my roommate for right now. You all were so adamant I get one, so here he is." You rolled your eyes.

"But you were living with Chan?" Changbin asked Minho, turning to him. "Why'd you suddenly move here?"

Minho nodded, and you could see his lips part to say something before an odd look suddenly came over his face. You took a step forward, concerned, before he turned to you, "oh shit."

You and Changbin watched as Minho suddenly shrunk down, becoming a cat rapidly. If you’d have blinked, you’d have missed it.

The silence spread through the apartment as you and Changbin stared at Kitty Minho before you awkwardly clapped your hands together. "Uh, so that's why he's here."

"Y/n, that explains nothing!"

I walk around in circles until I hear the doorbell ring

“Yn”

I turned around and opened the door.

“Oh h-hi…” I say looking down on the ground. “So you wanted to see me..” Niki started. “Yeah actually I have something important to tell you..” I said, causing my nerves to rise up. I look up and see Niki looking at me. I slightly blush, but managed to maintain eye contact. Niki nods his head. Before speaking up again.., “Yn you already know how much I like you, and the feelings have grown even more ever since you’ve found out a while back. Especially after your post yesterday..” I nod my head, “Yeah…um I’m sorry about that. But it’s just that I like you…” I say the last part quietly. Niki looks confused. “What did you say?, I couldn’t hear you.”

“I…like…you…” I say, closing my eyes tightly, already turning red. I don’t hear anything, so I open my eyes to see Niki stand there mouth open… “I definitely shouldn’t have said that” I think to myself.

“Y-you like me..?” He asks. I nod my head.. Niki breaks out into a smile before walking close to me…He stands right in front of me asking. “Can I hug you..?”

“U-um sure..” Niki hugs me tightly before asking the question I wanted to hear for the longest..

“Yn…will you be…my girlfriend?” I pull away from the hug looking at Niki in shock… “W-what…?”

“Yn will you be my girlfriend?” He repeated.. I nodded my head saying yes before Niki once again pulled me into a hug, he used one hand and lifted up my face.. “I hope my precious girlfriend wouldn’t mind this..” He says, the next thing I feel is a soft feeling against my lips. My body freezes..but I kiss him back, wrapping my arms around his neck, he giggles into the kiss, pulling away. Still hugging me. Niki plants a kiss on my head..

“I love you so much..”

“I love you too..”

Niki pulls away from the hug, grabbing my hand, and intertwining our fingers together. He then begins to walk saying..

“Let’s go on a date..”

“Wait hold on I need my shoes”

ON THE COURT— 015: WOAH.

His body struggles to move through the crowd of bodies as he makes his way to her, constantly trying to squeeze between people. “Found you!” He chuckles, taking a deep breath from all of the pushing and shoving.

“And you wanted me to dance…” She scoffs playful as the red cup lifts to her lips, Theo’s body leans swiftly over the countertop they both rested against, his forearm grazing against hers.

After a couple of minutes of painful silence his eyes dart to the ping pong table, where their classmates were. “Do you wanna go play?” He nudges her slightly to catch her attention and her head whips to focus on the activity he pointed at.

“Beer pong?” Her voice questioned

“Yeah, it could be fun!” He hoped to god she didn’t reject him, considering how all she’s been doing was sitting and observing everyone at the party

“Hmm, sure why not” Theo sighs in relief when she agrees to the offer with a light shrug and smiles, his hand interlocking with hers (making sure he didn’t touch the still wrapped one from the coffee incident) and leading her through the crowd.

Her body tensed as he gently guides her through the crowded living space, his hand tightening when it was too hard to push through the bodies. The blood rushes to her cheeks and her smile starts to become more prominent.

“Hey, Theo! Was wondering where you were” Keeho, who had just got done missing his turn, swung his arm around Theo in a childish gesture.

“Had to do something first, my bad.”His eyes dart down to the locked fingers between the both of you then goes back up to link with Theo’s nervous eyes “Hm, I see now…:

“Manager” Keeho smiles

“Hey, Kyo!” Y/n fastly waves back with her free hand

“Are you guys here to play?”

“Yeah, thought we could give it a try” Y/n says again and Theo nods.

“Cool, we just finished this round so you guys get next. Y/n, you’re on Sumin’s team. Theo, you’re on mine,” Keeho explains and Y/n quickly unlocks her hand from Theo’s grasp to walk over to the right side of the table.

“Y/n, right?” Sumin points.

“Yeah! You must be Sumin?” She nods from the introduction.

“Yup, glad to meet you! I think we have a class together, no?”

Y/n’s brain racks at the thought of her, at any familiar feeling “Introduction to Philosophy?” She questions back, the lightbulb in her head brimming with inquiry

“Yes! You sit in front of me most of the time!”

“Right, it’s good to see you!” Y/n says back, giggling a little. “These are my friends! They’ll be on our team.” she nods in solidarity as Sumin hands her a ping pong ball.

It was saddening to see Sunghoon try denying that he really wanted to be there. It was evident in his eyes whenever he scrolled through his social media that he wanted to support his friends. And yet:

"Nah, I don't wanna go."

"You're getting closer to your due date, I'm scared of missing it."

"I can't afford to go."

He texted them often when they had breaks in between practice. They all seemed so excited at the prospect of him being there, but he kept shooting it down, even if they wanted to give him a free ticket.

He often found you sitting on your bed with your hands on your rather round belly. It was comforting so it allowed you to think better.

'How can I make him go?'

You'd been wondering this for days but you had to think fast. You didn't know just how popular they were so you could easily miss out on buying his ticket. As much as you wanted to be there, it felt almost like you'd cause too much stress on him. Someone could bump into you, you could lose balance and fall etc.

While he was away at his part time job, you ended up texting both his and your parents. You could use the extra help, seeing as you wanted to act in his best interest.

But it seems they thought it was a good idea as well. After all, wouldn't it be great for him to support his best friends who just succeeded in achieving their dreams?

Everyday, you sat in anticipation. You waited for those ticket sales to be open. You were going to get that ticket, even if it was the last thing you would do. You had the money which your parents and his had graciously helped with.

But even with your laptop sitting in front of you, you were beyond nervous. Your hands were clammy and your heart was racing. You needed to calm down, this amount of stress wasn't good for the baby.

Yes, think about the baby. Surely that'll calm you down.

Just a few more minutes. Just a few more minutes. Just a few-

...

Was getting a ticket always so hard?? You wondered this as you managed to secure it. Online waiting lines were quite new to you, you weren't really paying attention to the capacity of the concert hall.

You sat with a satisfied look, waving your hands in the air in excitement.

"What's all the excitement about?"

You jumped slightly upon hearing Sunghoon’s voice. He had an intrigued look on his face as he crossed his arms against his chest.

"Nothing, nothing!" You said quickly, waving him off.

"I finally passed this level I'd been struggling with.."

Sunghoon knows when you're lying. He's known you long enough to read your every movement and expression (not in a creepy way of course). But he doesn't say anything further. You probably have your reasons for hiding something from him, he trusted you.

"I see.. since when do you play games on your laptop?" He seemingly snickered since he'd never seen you playing anything other than mobile games.

"New hobby to pass the time," you smiled almost awkwardly. Now that you think about it, playing rpg games was something you used to do.

"So, how was work?" You had a big smile as you rested your hands on your belly, closing your laptop to listen to him.

His eyes always seemed to light up when he spoke about his work. He was lucky to have landed this job, but the owner of the ice rink seemed even more overjoyed than he was to have a former professional figure skater teaching young kids.

He loved listening to the kids ask for help, watching their little faces get excited when they could move without falling. He especially thought it was cute hearing the little voices calling him 'teacher'.

"One of the kids has this very interesting habit of telling me she loves me."

He chuckled as he spoke. He would recall little fists gripping his pants leg to prevent themselves from falling. He had a special talent and incredible patience, which made him suitable for this. Maybe he could even do this full-time.

But he'd agreed to stay part-time for now. Maybe he'd continue doing this after the baby was born. All he knew was that he was going to be there for you, no matter what.

Days went by, even though they felt like years. You were so excited to give Sunghoon his gift that you could hardly wait. You even went the extra mile to craft him a special banner for him to hold up. It was bright with sparkly hearts, surely not a craft Sunghoon would make but would definitely get attention.

Both your parents and his helped you prepare everything. Crafting this felt like an art project you were making late at night on the living room floor. Sunghoon’s sister even gave her own input, even though she wasn't one to meddle in his life.

It was agreed that you would be the one giving him this gift. It wouldn't be hard to make him go, given all 6 of the special people in his life went through all that effort. He could never say no to you, therefore he couldn't deny all of you.

Everyone wanted to make you rest up a little more since it was clear you were becoming more tired as time went by. But it didn't feel special enough if you didn't give him this gift yourself. No amount of pain or constant bathroom trips was gonna make you stop.

You were quite aware of the chances of going into labour at literally any point now given how far along you've been. And, if you had to be honest, it scared you.

As excited as you were, you were just as afraid, often questioning whether you could be a good mother or whether you would be able to give your child the life they deserve.

Sunghoon had grown increasingly stressed as well. The mere sight of you wincing from a sharp kick was enough to send him into a small panic, then immediately followed by him wanting to feel it for himself.

He'd often found himself singing a little to the unborn baby, introducing himself and everything. He loved singing you to sleep as well as it seemed to be one of the few things that could calm you down enough.

And when you'd fallen asleep in his arms, he would lay in contemplation. He was finally able to use his talent of singing even if it hurt him a little to do it. He wondered what his former members really felt about his departure. He wondered just how much stress he put on them, even though they said it was okay.

In truth, he did wanna go to their showcase. His face was never really revealed, so no one in the crowd would recognize him. But, to his slight disappointment, the tickets were sold out by the time he got there.

He sighed mentally but eventually it got him thinking.

‘Maybe I could use that money to buy a ring.’

He so badly wanted to propose to you. He didn't have enough for the shiniest, glittering ring he believed you deserve but he knew that he could propose with a lollipop ring and you wouldn't care.

It wasn't much but he'd been crafting paper rings in his free time at work. Whenever he had even the slightest break, he'd attempt yet another. Some of them would break, some of them were too small or too big, some wouldn't even stay put.

“Teacher!” He heard a small yet high voice coming from the entrance of the ice rink. A smile crept onto his face as he immediately opened up his arms, letting the little girl run into him.

“Yes?” He asked with a gentle tone.

“What are you making?” She pointed down at the stash of paper rings next to him.

A little blush appeared on his cheeks as he chuckled softly before whispering to her. “If I tell you, you have to keep it a secret.”

He held his index finger in front of his lips, making a “shh” sound, her immediate response was to do the same.

“I'm going to ask my girlfriend to marry me.” He couldn't stop the smile on his face as the little girl covered her hand with her mouth.

“Teacher is going to get married?” She whispered back to him, getting quite excited.

He thought for a split second before nodding. “Yes. I am going to get married.”

She had let out a rather interesting sound before running off and, in that moment, he remembered that kids can't really keep secrets.

After the lesson, the kids were surrounding him on the ice, their little voices piling on top of each other as they wanted to know more about their teacher's soon-to-be wife.

“Guys, guys, calm down…” He chuckled as he quieted them down, slowly guiding them to the exit of the ice and letting them walk one by one to the dressing room.

“Teacher, teacher! Is your girlfriend pretty?” One of the kids asked him as he helped undo their skates.

He nodded. “Very pretty. The prettiest girl in the whole world.”

A series of ooohs and giggles erupted as they continued to ask about the girl that stole their teacher's heart. They were very straightforward with their questions, letting out little giggles when they saw him blushing.

“See you guys!” Sunghoon waved them all off as they walked with their parents. He couldn't stop smiling as he remembered everything he said about you. He didn't see the point in trying to swerve away from the truth, he couldn't really lie to his kids. Everyone knows kids tend to pry a lot so he may as well just tell them.

On his way back to his house, he had a bit of time to think. He was still in contact with his former members but they couldn't speak to him much as their debut showcase was the next day. He leaned his head against the window of the bus, somehow always ending up contemplating everything.

But he has you, his family, a soon-to-be stable job, and a baby on the way. He had a perfectly average life now.

By the time he reaches home, you're already waiting in the living room. You had to try containing your excitement as you tried to imagine the look on Sunghoon’s face when you gave him his gift.

A sparkly banner sat on the living room table with tons of hearts and its message in neon paint to shine in the dark.

“What's that?”

The sound of his voice made you jump slightly as you were lost in thought. He was pointing at the sparkly banner.

“It's something for you to take with you.”

You struggled to get up for a second before approaching him with the biggest smile on your face as your hands were behind your back.

“Where am I going?” He tilted his head slightly, setting his bag down before folding his arms across his chest.

You immediately pulled out the ticket from behind your back, earning the most surprised expression you'd ever seen on his face.

“What?” He sounded like he was in disbelief when he muttered, reading the ticket carefully.

“I really want you to go so I took out some of my savings and our parents helped out too!”

He blinked in response, somehow feeling a little guilty about you putting in so much effort, especially since you were broke and fresh out of high school.

“But.. I don't know, I can't,” he muttered as he gently held onto it.

“Are you saying no to me?”

He looked up at you, seeing that your eyes were slowly watering, sending him into a tiny panic.

“No, of course not! I could never say no to you.” He gently stroked your cheek with his thumb. “I'm just…”

“Are you worried I might go into labour tomorrow?” You held onto his hands, the space between you was a little awkward given how nearly round your belly was.

He nodded slightly. “What if I miss it?”

“I highly doubt it. Our baby loves you too much to come out without you at their birth.”

It took a few more minutes of conversation and him questioning the banner before he finally accepted, giving you a gentle hug as the excitement set it. He was actually excited to see his best friends again, even if it was from afar.
