The first card to come out for this pile was The Emperor. This is a card associated with a responsible individual. They are someone that is a capable leader and often takes this role on in situations.

The second card to come out for this pile was The Hermit. This can be someone that prefers to keep to their self. It may also suggest that someone is taking some time to reflect on their self and their priorities.

The third card to come out for this pile was the 3 of Pentacles. This card is associated with working with others.

Basically, I feel like all of this suggests that you tend to be the leader in group projects, although you may not appreciate having to take this role on.

Your first oracle card is Focus On Service. This does seem to suggest that you gain some sense of fulfillment from being of service to others. I feel like this suggests that you may be trying to find a balance between helping others and taking care of yourself.

Your second oracle card is Blue Moon - Now Is A Powerful Time To Set Long-Term Goals And Sow Seeds For The Future. This suggests that now is an appropriate time to think on the future and what your goals are.

Basically, this pile seems like it could be taken two ways. The first is that someone is feeling hopeless in regards to someone else’s lack of honesty and how that is impacting their happiness. The other is that someone is trying to act strategically to keep things going well in their connections, despite their own unhappiness and hopelessness at this time.

The first oracle card that came out was Time To Go. Basically, it is time to leave something behind that is no longer benefiting you. This doesn’t necessarily have to be a person or situation, since it can also be a way of thinking.

The second oracle card that came out was Moon In Pisces - Beware Of Indulging In Negative Or Depressive Tendencies. This is important since that Star reversed likely makes it tempting for someone to indulge in this unhealthy behavior.

The romance card is This Could Be The One. This suggests that some of you may be in healthy relationships or interested in someone that has potential.

Pile 3/Nightmare Before Christmas

The first card to come out for this pile was the 8 of Needles, which is basically the 8 of Swords in this deck. This is associated with feeling trapped in a situation.

The second card to come out for this pile was Death. This card is associated with endings and transformations. This can be a painful period, but is generally one that you grow from.

The third card to come out for this pile was the Ace of Potions reversed. This suggests that you’re likely not expressing your emotions. All of the negative thoughts and concerns that you likely have with the other two cards seem to be contained inside yourself, which is likely only adding to that 8 of Needles.

Pile 4/Mystical Manga

The first card to come out for this pile was the 6 of Swords. This card is associated with moving towards calmer times. It is a slow process that requires patience, but it is progress.

The second card to come out for this pile was the 8 of Cups reversed. This card is associated with moving away from a situation that wasn’t what you hoped. This is likely the step that has started (or will start) your way to calmer times.

The third card to come out for this pile was the Knight Of Wands. This can be associated with just going with what you want to do or feel like you should do. Basically, not overthinking a situation before taking action on it.

This could be a relationship/Friendship for a lot of you this is romantic but for some of you, this could be platonic. This reading kind of is going both ways some of you you’re going through a breakup up and others, you are thinking about going through a breakup because you are the only one in the relationship who is putting in all the effort. It reminds me of the Simpson meme where Lis is placing a band-aid on Bart and the caption says my toxic trait is and basically doing things for others they wouldn’t do for you and some of you are seeing that this person is selfish, narcissistic, and maybe even just downright hates you. Reminds me of the thread on Twitter where guys openly discuss the moment, they start randomly hating their girlfriends and start treating them horribly so they would break up with them. Very few of you don’t want to see this out of your relationship (platonic or romantic) so you keep making excuses and giving people the benefit of the doubt. Collective: For everyone I am getting the message that its time to break out of limiting beliefs. It may be time to face some fears or other things you have been avoiding.

I'm using a deck that I very rarely reach for these days. It was my first deck and I loved it! But it reminds me of someone who ended up really hurting me so I avoid it. But today I felt drawn to it for this reading and realized I didn't want to let them taint my life any longer.

I'm getting a pretty bright and cheery energy. So either this is where you are or where you are headed. Yay! Love to see it 🥳 I'm bumping some Amy Winehouse right now. It always makes me feel so sultry. That's kinda the same energy I am getting from your reading.

I think you will be going out and having a great time. You will be re-discovering your sexuality. You will truly be "feeling yourself" (no pun intended!). I am getting such good energy for this pile! I love it. You could be romantics at heart. I am getting a free spirited energy. You don't let heartbreak keep you down and jaded. You always find a way to come back out on top and open your heart again. That is seriously impressive! Its not easy or common to be that resilient! (In case you're wondering, my phone is now playing Drama Queen (That Girl) by Lindsay Lohan). Go you! 😊🙌 If you aren't here right now, this is a sign that you can get there! Manifest it!

I do see someone coming in. They give me kind of goofy energy but well-meaning. They might have more serious intentions than you think or they could have a serious side. I think you will be taking more charge in your love life. Its like you have a fire under you that's driving this energy. You could be experiencing some kind of heartbreak or toxic cycle.

You will probably be hearing from this person or reaching out to them yourself. It will be up to you what you want to do with this situation. You could take them back and have passion but its likely that you will realize you have outgrown this situation. I think you have learned a lot about this person and you are ready to put up better boundaries.

Some of you could be leaving this person. You may not trust that they are going to maintain whatever change they are showing you. If you do know this person to be toxic and hurtful, you are making the right choice.

Regardless of your specific situation, I do think with the Chariot and Magician in the middle of your reading, you have the power to manifest whatever you need. Okay, Sister. I see immediately that you don’t operate energetically, you operate very physically. I’m seeing tons of crystal imagery, as well as roots and underground imagery. The most prominent thing I see here is that you somehow operate around heartbreak. Your powers are healing for others’ hearts. You can help cleanse out the heartbreak and bittersweet memories that others are feeling. Your energy is taking a chance without being ignorant and being strong without being aggressive. Your natural abilities lie in your power of protection and setting boundaries because of this. They also lie in deep cleansing and releasing magic. First off, there are two main abilities that somehow combine that the spirit showed me: your natural ability for working with the seasons or gardening or working with plants and your natural ability to use trance like states, meditation, or dreams to heal. Flying In The Night : Turbulence In My Heart

Our hearts have been through a lot of ups and downs, and sometimes, the downs persist more than the ups. With it being this rough, what are the messages we need to hear to soothe our hearts and to provide any needed clarity?

Overall theme: The Hierophant

This pile feels like they wanna go safe, wanna play it safe, kinda vibe. Conservative and traditional aren’t the words I’m trying to find here, but they’re someone who sticks to whatever they’ve done, and will use the same method over and over again, having smol fears of trying something new or a new method. The legit play it safe.

What has happened, what has caused this turbulence? Eight of Wands

Pile 1, since you’re used to taking your time to deal with things at your pace, you found it extremely challenging when new challenges come your way at a very fast pace. This probably happened in a short period of time continuously, and you’re unable to catch up to doing a lot at the same time. And the feeling of incompetence slowly eats you up and you panic, not knowing how you’re supposed to be doing what you’re called to do.

Why did it happen? The Moon rx

It’s telling you to face your fears, to make a change. You know the phases of the moon? How it constantly changes? Yeah that. Remember the Moon is only reflecting the light of the Sun based on where it’s positioned. You’ll need to find your position, where you can reflect the Sun’s brightness the best, so that you’ll be able to also shed light. You’re probably, currently in the phase of the new moon, where you’re unable to show your best to others. It’s time for you to make changes (your fear) to find where your strength lies. Dream. Dream far, dream wild. It’s time that you make changes towards a new you.

What should I learn from this? Six of Swords rx

Understand that there’s a stagnation, that there’s this part in you that’s been resisting change, and that you should take actions against it. Life's a long journey and you can’t keep resisting changes that are aimed to make your life better. Big moves, big waves will still come to you, and if you’re unable to let go of the baggages on you, you won’t be able to move away from them and will get crashed (crushed) again and again. Let them go, move towards a better and safer direction, and you’ll realize what you’ve been missing out this entire while.

What can I do now? Nine of Swords

Conquer your fears. Fear is a persistent theme in this pile and you’re called to conquer them, make changes, face them and fight them. Flight isn’t gonna help forever, buttering them up is also not gonna help. You gotta fight the fears, do not let them have any power over you. Ask for help when needed. But also be willing to receive them when the universe sends help to you.

How long will this last? Six of Cups

When you’ve conquered your battles, you’ll be able to be more at peace with yourself and be able to start nurturing yourself. That’s when the hurt and turbulence in your heart will slow down. I wouldn’t say that it will completely be gone, but at least, you’ll be able to manage through it and no longer let it affect you. It’ll prolly appear from time to time at the back of your head, but it would be easier to push it away. Open up your arms and wrap them around you, start with nurturing yourself.

You’ll have a more established sense of self. See, you’re now the Queen. Instead of watching out, you’ll be watching yourself more and you’ll be able to give yourself the credit for going through all these ups and downs. You would’ve found your confidence by then and will be able to stand up for yourself and look at yourself with the same respect you’ve given others.

Clarity : Ten of Wands rx

This card talks about having all the burdens on you. But with it in reverse, I feel that it’s prompting you to let go of the unneeded burdens you’re carrying. You gotta stop repressing yourself and that you’re capable of letting them go. Don’t say you can’t. You’re just getting ready to let them go, okay?

For some reason, I thought of Virgo Moon, so some of you may have that placement or Moon in Virgo may be a significant time for you. Know that our future doesn’t define who we are, but we ourselves define our own future. We are unable to see them right now but it doesn’t mean it’s not there. It’s alright to take baby steps, and it’s alright to take a break tonight, as long as you have a clear goal on where you wanna arrive.

Some of you may be interested in learning a new skill? But also I’m seeing that y’all are interested and are determined to be better in what y’all are doing. Love yourself, let the world see you’re loving yourself. Let yourself be the source of warmth, so that you can warm others as well as yourself. Glory and victory only will follow after that.

Overall theme: The Tower rx

There’s an unexpected change that came to you, something that you definitely do not welcome and you have a hard time accepting it. However, the situation does not allow you to not accept it. You’re reminded that things happen for a reason, even when that reason is unacceptable to you. You are called to pay close attention to your heart and mind, and to not let fear or uncertainties distract you.

What has happened, what has caused this turbulence? Queen of Swords

Immediately I thought of a mother figure. The oracle cards came out after that further proves it. It’s making me feel that your mother, or a mother figure, or a beloved older woman with air signs in her chart (think Libra, Aquarius, Gemini) has hurted you with words that were sharp and blunt at the same time, like it stabbed your heart and hit you with it together. Not to mention that some of them are actually unwanted, unsolicited advice that doesn’t help anything with your life.

Why did it happen? Page of Pentacles

For you to be able to see and acknowledge that some things in life need to be cut off so that you can have a new beginning. For some reasons, I feel that it’s like a reason for you to start something new, something totally fresh. It’s like… Giving up everything in your hometown and leaving for a new town with just a backpack, starting a new job and finding a new house and making new friends in another city. Kinda feeling. I have another feeling that earth seasons (think Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo seasons) are significant for you or will be the time you’ve decided to take action on your life.

What should I learn from this? King of Swords

You need to be more critical in thoughts, know what to take in and what not to take in. There are truths and there are non-truths, you need to be critical and have to understand what and why. Maybe you can learn how to apply 5W1H in conversations and see how you work it out. Another thing I’m seeing is that you’ll need to protect yourself and counter back with words when needed. The King of Swords in my deck looks like he’s surrounded by spikes. Which means, he’s protecting himself and doesn’t give anyone the chance to hurt him. Anyone who attempts to hurt him will go through the process of hurting themselves before they could do any potential damage.

What can I do now? Ten of Pentacles rx

Weirdly, I see leaving the family. Ten of Pentacles gives me the vibe of a successful family. And it in reverse gives the feeling that the family is no longer a situation that’s beneficial for you. It’s like you’re an outcast in the family and you’re advised to leave the household.

Another interpretation I’m seeing here is also getting a pet? So that you have a new problem to deal with to distract yourself from old problems. But also pets are helpful in healing and getting you out of certain situations, including your family. So yeah, it’s worth considering.

I honestly can’t get much out of this card in this position, so if you have some other interpretations, please feel free to share them with me.

How long will this last? Seven of Swords rx

Until you’ve gotten out of a situation that is no longer working for you. Perhaps you feel burdened with responsibilities, or there’s a sense of attachment to whatever that is in the current household. This card may be asking you to let go of all your baggage, old swords that are no longer usable for combat and try to face the future bravely.

Also, if you’re behaving dishonestly, you should really stop it, cuz your sneakiness will be brought to light soon.

What will be the outcome? Knights of Swords rx

You��ve learnt the need to be more wary, especially with newcomers into your life. I feel that whatever you’ve been through has made you more… Aware of who you’re dealing with and what they will be bringing into your life. You’ve learnt to not share your energy with people who do not deserve them and will focus on your life more.

Clarity: Three of Swords

You are called to surrender any old, limiting beliefs and to heal. Healing is a long process but you’ve been hurt for a long time and the wounds keep stacking up. You’ll need to clean those wounds and protect it, apply ointments (nourish your soul) and with time, it’ll heal properly and there will no longer be any inflammations (triggers due to past trauma). It’s going to be a long journey but have faith. One day, you’ll realize that you’ve been reborn into limitless possibilities, and that you’re able to have hope with life again.

There are a LOT of Swords cards coming out for this pile. Anything that’s related to words, intellect, communication are huge themes for this pile. Misunderstandings or verbal arguments are something to be watched out over here, as it affects you more than you can ever think of. Coming up next is Pentacles. And that’s it. Y’all only have Swords and Pentacles in your reading. The theme surrounding Pentacles is work, finance, career, stability. So themes of this can be your concerns, how you are needed to proceed/progress from here. These two themes are significant and you may want to look and evaluate how you’re dealing with these items. Overall theme: Judgment

Right off the bat, I feel that there’s a heavy energy of Judgment on you. You fear Judgment, yet you welcome it. It’s a mixed feeling. Like… You’re meant to fear but also to execute it. You’re the judge, and you’re also the one receiving judgment from the people you’ve judged. It’s strong and silent.

What has happened, what has caused this turbulence? The High Priestess

Immediately I thought about spirituality, unhappy or fearful spiritual experiences. Some of you may start to have your third eye opening and you’ve been thrown into spiritual experiences which you definitely did not welcome. But it still happened. The challenges came forth too strongly and the moment you stepped out of your comfort zone, you were wounded badly and you shrunk back into it again.

Why did it happen? Five of Cups rx

That aside, I’m also seeing possibilities of you not believing in your intuition, in your gut feeling, and the end results are telling you that you should’ve listened to them. I’m feeling themes of secrecy and betrayal as well from this card.

For the first group, it’s a sign of affirmation that yes, you have gifts, and that you’re called to use it for the betterment of people, starting with yourself. It’s a gift for you for self-introspection, for you to notice the various possible outcomes instead of the upsetting ones. For the other group, you have been focusing too much on the various negative connotations and something needs to happen for the balance to shift. Else, you’ll be easily consumed by your inner demons. If it’s something that can be controlled by humans then that’s cool you know who to find, but most of the time it's unpredictable. I know it’s difficult to accept things but. The more you refuse to accept certain things, the more you’re in conflict with yourself. Might as well just roll with the punches and see where life leads you.

How long will this last? Four of Wands rx

Until you have your inner harmony. It honestly surprises me how the cards connect. Once you’ve decided to let go of whatever tension that has been on your shoulders and in your head, only you’ll be able to work on your inner harmony. There’s a lot of abundance that you have in your life, but it’s up to you to work it out and to put it to good use. Know that you’re on the right path and you should just step out and continue progressing.

What will be the outcome? Nine of Swords

This card is known to have a negative connotation, but I feel that you’ll be able to use your pain and your experience to help those who are having a similar problem/pain. Your eyes can see through the soul and pain of others and you’re capable of extending your help to them, no matter how dark the night may be.

Clarity : The Moon

The Moon talks about spiritual themes and also fear, which I believe is still within you. Know that this reading and other signs that you have seen are powerful messages from your guides and that you should trust your feelings. Take your time to heal, and you’ll be amazed at how much of a natural healer you are. In terms of astrology, the Moon is a luminary, which means it lights up (well due to it reflecting the light of the Sun but we’ll leave the science aside). And I can see that you’re also lighting up the lives or people around you.

These cards decided to fall out again so I took them but the message is probably slightly shorter than the previous parts. Ten of Cups talk about complete harmony, perfect alignment. Paired with the King of Wands, I feel that it’s telling you that you’re on your path to be that leader of your life, to be in complete harmony with the inner you. But also, right now the path is like Five of Pentacles, a feeling of brokenness and sadness, a phase of stagnation. Once you’ve gotten past it, you’ll be able to step out with courage and show the world your charm. We feel fear cuz we feel like we can’t see our future but know that the sun also hides at times, but we know it’s there. It’s the same with our blinding and beautiful future.

Overall energy: Wheel of Fortune, Queen of Wands rx

It feels like Fate is turning and it’s redirecting you to your self confidence, redirecting you to find your inner strength, redirecting you to find your gifts and powers. Queen of Wands also talks about spirituality and clairvoyant abilities so some of you may be awakening those gifts. Just let Fate and your confidence lead you to where you are.Open up yourself to inspiration and watch creativity and power flow through you. Believe in your intuition and run on the path that you’re supposed to be on.

Overall theme: Strength rx, The Hermit rx

Two cards fell out for this pile and I’m taking them both. There’s a feeling of lostness and frailness when I saw these two cards together. It’s like… Someone is lost and they’re flailing around, trying to find their way out of whatever tunnels they’re in right now. There’s a feeling of defeat I’m sensing from this pile. It’s like… You’ve been dethroned and there’s someone better who’s sitting in the place you’ve used to sit in. That tradition also plays a part. See, a lot of us tend to look down on tradition and think that it’s the new age, where we focus on coming up with new ideas. There’s moodiness here as well as unrealistic imagination. For some reason, I’m feeling that some of y’all are just imagining scenes in your head as a way of escaping from this real world. Ive noticed a lack of information on techno-magic and what being a tech witch might entail! Tech magic is the use of modern-day technology in our magical practices! This can be a secular practice OR someone may pair other aspects of theology into it! There is also 'Technopaganism' which is the merge of neopaganism and digital magic. Some people may worship tech and its energy or some people simply use it as a tool for ritual magic!

In this post I wanted to showcase a few ideas to get you started in the tech practice! The first section being common tools, the second is common tech practices, and the last is about how to take steps into your new tech practice and advance forward!

First: The tools To get started here are some amazing apps people might get on their phones to carry magic anywhere

Basically, I feel like this shows that you are trying to work on getting out of this dark place that The Star reversed showed. I feel like the main issue that this pile is struggling to balance is avoiding falling back into the darkness and continuing to make progress on their healing.

can you do a current energy reading for bang chan? i’ve been pretty worried about him for a while now, he’s been pretty open about struggling lately and now with all of this recent stuff going on i’m just wondering how he’s doing with it all.

the 10 of wands jumped out right away. chan can sometimes feel like he has the entire world on his shoulders. he's the type to make it look easy, but there's sooo much responsibility resting on him. i can really feel the weight of it while reading myself. however, combined with the slow, steady and stable knight of pentacles, i don't see the weight of it crushing him.

he's being patient. from this spread alone, i can tell that he exactly knows how to deal with burdensome periods, he's been through them many times before. he's experienced these type of struggles already, so it's nothing he can't handle.

he's a very wise, mature and assertive guy. he's taking charge of whatever situation is thrown at him, and is currently in the midst of carefully planning out his next steps. he's really saying "okay, this is what we're gonna do, this is what we are not gonna do." i even see his voice overpowering many higher ups. chan is definitely the main guy in not only his career, but also skz's careers.

you notice how i did not say anything about his mental state yet? that's because all the cards i got till later on, only show me his strength dealing with everything. i think, he has the toxic tendency to push everything concerning his own wellbeing to the complete background.

but, inside he's feeling some anxiety. honestly, i think this entire situation with ive made him overthink a lot. he feels like his intentions were misunderstood. he feels like there's this lack of power he has over people from the outside putting words in his mouth, it's causing a sense of hopelessness inside him. like, no matter what he says, he can't really win. chan being a double libra makes him soooo overly focused on being liked by everyone. he hates knowing that there's people who view him in a bad light now.

the eight of pentacles in the end is showing me, he's working hard. obv skz are preparing for their comeback, so i see most of his mind being there, but i can also see him at least trying to somehow work on his attitude towards situations like these. he's always focused on how to become a better influence on the people around him, so i see him working on overcoming these negative emotions he can hold on to sometimes.

something compelled me to pull out my moonology oracle deck and i pulled:

new moon in virgo: a time to give rather than take

-> he's overanalyzing things -> but gradual improvements are coming -> potential to fully restart in a clever and organized manner -> universe is telling him: "don't think about what others are doing to you, think about what you can do for them"

message that resonated most is: take care of your health!

he should eat better, have healthier routines, maybe seek out some therapy. i really see the universe telling him to get a counsellor, someone he can vent to freely.

warnings: talking about spirituality and witchcraft

if you’re brand new, haven’t done anything witchy ever in your life, first:

- don’t call yourself a “baby witch.” don’t infantilize yourself. you’re a bad bitch whether it’s your first day or 20384729483 day practicing. stand up. 🤨

- intentions are everything but don’t just jam shit into a cauldron and hope for the best. take the time to learn what things mean. colors, crystals, herbs. don’t overthink it, but acknowledging what your materials are used for will help you in the long run.

- your practice is your own. you can do whatever you want within reason. be careful not to appropriate.

- start a journal or document what you’ve learned. there’s no way you’re gonna be able to memorize everything, and you can easily look back for references.

- for the love of all the gods, practice fire safety. if your spell calls for you to burn something, do it outside in a fire safe container.

- start small. don’t start with jinxes/hexes/curses, you’ll hurt yourself and somebody else. start by doing mild shadow work, protection rituals, or some meditation.

- when you’re meditating, don’t try to silence your thoughts. listen to yourself.

here’s some personal things that i do:

- paying attention to the moon. track her phases and cycles. look at her when you can and say hi. i use apps to make widgets to keep up with the moon phases. knowing what phase the moon is in will explain a lot of weird shit.

- black salt in everything and everywhere. mix normal table salt and ashes from your incense, sprinkle it in every possible entrance/exit. doorframes, windows even under your doormat. Salt and smoke is very cleansing and purifying. it’ll protect your home/space from negative energies that may pass through.

- inexpensive doesn’t mean ‘cheap.’ you don’t need a whole bunch of fancy materials and herbs and oils and shit. you can go to any store and raid their herbs and spice section for a reasonable price. some things even come in bulk, like cinnamon sticks or bay leaves.

- using sigils. they can be time consuming but since it’s something you made, it can be more powerful. or, you can look up runes to correspond with your purpose.

- make a connection with your tarot/oracle cards. when you buy a new deck of tarot cards or oracle cards, bind them to you by carrying them on your person for about a week. or, you can put the pack under your pillow at night and sleep with it.

- don’t place items on the altar if they’re not being presented as an offering. it’s a simple rule and i find it rlly disrespectful bc my altar isn’t a side table to put things random things on. would you walk into a church and set your purse directly on top of their sacred textbook? probably not.

- keeping multiple brooms. use your inside broom to sweep your floors. use an outside broom to clear any porches, steps, and sidewalks from physical and spiritual debris. if you have a visitor that’s overstaying, or if you just want somebody to leave, turn your designated inside broom upside down so the bristles point to the ceiling and say nothing. they’ll leave within 10-15 minutes. (if you have a witchy friend, keep the broom out of your companies line of sight, they might peep that you’re kicking them out. 👀)

- another thing about tarot: the moon in reverse is never a good sign. it usually means that there’s someone within your circle that’s trying to cause you harm.

- hyper fixating on a particular crystals is a big indicator that a something is misaligned. look up the properties of whatever crystal you’re attracted to, because it usually is something you are needing the most. i had a phase where i was buying a LOT of carnelian— specifically red. what i really needed was a way to combat how sluggish and drained i was in that period of my life.

- understand your natal chart and know the signs of other people. I love astrology and i’m studying it a lot more and am learning just how important it is. right now i’m really trying to hone in on my Libra rising and Venus placements. ik ppl cringe at the “astrology girls” asking what ppls signs are or what times ppl were born. astrology plays a hand in all of our relationships. if you want to rlly get an understanding on why someone acts Like That, look up their Moon, Rising, and Mercury placements. If you want to see if someone is an ideal companion for you, look at their Venus placement.

lastly and most importantly remember that all the power you want and need already exists within you. reaching elbow deep and bringing the divine out of you is not an easy or clean journey but it’s worth it. I hope this helped 🖤✨

I recently began looking into tarot, but the two decks I have aren't traditional ones, but I've read from a lot of people that traditional tarot decks are the (only?) way to go. I'm curious about your journey in learn to interpret the deck(s) you have, since I'm also struggling with that.

I also see that you have a free tarot reading Friday, and since it IS Friday, I'd like to ask- how can I overcome the political and religious obstacles that force me to hide?

Hey there! (:

So, anyone who tells you there's only One Right Way to do something is full of shit. Folks just like to feel superior for doing things More Correctly Than You.

You can use whatever for divination and get solid results. You could make a functioning system out of coupons. Hell, you could doodle on printer paper, cut it into squares, and then use it as a tarot deck. That would probably work, as long as you understood what the pictures meant.

Some folks have an easier time with traditional decks, others don't. I tend to vibe with decks that are a little funky. Extra cards, different suits, interesting presentations, etc.

The deck I use most often, the Alleyman's Tarot, is technically not a tarot deck at all -- it's an oracle deck, since it doesn't follow the "traditional" composition of a tarot deck (major arcana + minor arcana). But I still call it a tarot deck because I can and I use it like one. It works great.

I do have the Deviant Moon Tarot, which is based on the Rider-Waite-Smith, and it would be considered a "traditional" kind of deck. It's a great deck, and it's the one I taught myself to read with many years ago.

When I got that deck, I believed that someone else had to buy tarot decks for you; it was "selfish" and would "taint" the deck's power if you bought it yourself. Also bullshit, by the way, but I had that belief in me. A kind lady overheard me lamenting and pining for the Deviant Moon in a bookstore, bought me a gift card, and gave it to me with a note telling me to buy the deck for myself. It was a life-defining moment for me, to be sure, and one that sticks with me today. I strive to live up to that kindness.

Learning was an interesting thing. I didn't look up any spreads, and I barely used the book. Mostly, I just wanted to look like I knew what I was doing right out the gate (I didn't; I was 18 and had self-image issues, lmao). So I taught myself to interpret based on vibes and imagery, then went back to reference the book when I really needed to. It helped that I had a spirit ally hanging around that was looking for a vessel; it's still attached to those cards to this day, and it helped me learn how to hone my abilities. For a long time, the act of pretending I knew what I was talking about prevented me from actually learning much at all.

It isn't... well, it isn't great advice. I wouldn't recommend "learning" tarot the way I did. I figured it out after a while, but there was no real system to it. If I could go back and relearn it the way I would do it now, I absolutely would. Here's what I've learned is a fairly good method for learning any new tarot deck:

Shuffle the cards and lay the pile face-down.

Draw the top card.

In a notebook, write down your immediate, knee-jerk impressions of the card. I recommend just key words or single sentences.

Then, take a closer look at it. Note the colors, positioning of figures, background imagery, and other details. Write down what you see, not how you would interpret it.

Now interpret. Take your time writing down how the card's specific imagery makes you feel. What does it remind you of?

Jot down an example question and how you would apply the card to the answer. For example, the question "What do I need to know right now?" answered by Temperance could be something like: "Patience is a virtue. Take your time." Or however you would interpret that.

Set the card aside. Repeat until the entire deck is done.

Congrats! Now, you have a general idea of the entire deck's meanings and a handy guide to help you remember what they mean to you.

Bonus step: Review periodically. Opinions and interpretations change as you do.

I follow this routine with every new deck I get. I've figured out that the same card in two different decks could have vastly different meanings, depending on how it's depicted. It's really cool!

Also, it's kind of important to note that I'm not really a full animist. I don't think that tarot decks (or other tools) have individual spirits. My Deviant Moon deck has one, but that's because of the ally I mentioned before. The Alleyman's deck doesn't have a spirit as far as I can tell. I've got spirits hanging around that enjoy assisting with divination and magic and such, though.

As for free tarot, it's closed for now! The update reblog was sent to my drafts instead of posting,,, sorry about that!! Your question would definitely be fine for tarot interpretations (though a little shallow with only one card; situations like that are typically better interpreted with more cards I've found).
