I've been going feral with some world building that I plan to use for a number of future fics, and after the loving encouragement of some of the people in a discord I favor, I've decided to write up a big lore drop post. Partly so other people can use said lore and partly so I don't have to reestablish it every time I want to use it for a different fic.

In this universe, Nuzlocke is a way of describing the danger inherent to a region. There are Nuzlocke regions and Union regions. Union regions have leagues that abide by Union standards, varying rules to protect both trainers and their Pokémon.

Nuzlocke regions are characterized by increased odds of death and bodily harm to Pokémon participating in battles, both against trainers and wild Pokémon. The Pokémon in these regions tend to be more dangerous and as a result the trainers tend to be a lot more vicious during fights. Where as trainers in Union regions can trust one another to a certain extent, Nuzlocke trainers cannot trust each other not to permanently harm or cripple their Pokémon and fight according, ironically leading to more injuries.

By contrast, the Union provides a number of different services to Union abiding regions. First and foremost is medical aid, care in Union regions typically far outpacing Nuzlocke regions. Additionally, the Union acts as a separate legal force not associated with the League and as such can prosecute trainers for excessive amounts of force. The Union also helps with controlling and monitoring wild populations of Pokémon. Powerful trainers are sent out to capture exceptionally aggressive Pokémon (raid mons for example!) to remove them from the breeding pool and curate a calmer wild Pokémon population. The Union also helps in population maintenance which is why a trainer can catch as many Pokémon as they please in union regions as opposed to Nuzlocke regions that limit one capture per route to maintain a healthy population of wild Pokémon.

A region doesn't immediately become a Union region when the league joins the Union itself. There's a set of criteria that needs to be met before a region looses its Nuzlocke status, and it's possible for regions to slip back into Nuzlocke status if the league is inattentive. This points out perhaps the biggest difference between Union Champions and Nuzlocke Champions. In Nuzlocke regions there is only ever one champion. They are the end all be all of strength and remain in power until a stronger champion beats them. They hold an immense amount of sway but their rule is de facto. Union regions can have multiple champion "ranked" trainers who receive a number of benefits for their ranking but only have one primary Champion that is the acting leader for the region itself. The goal of these Champions is to act as guides and protectors for their region, and the role can be passed over at any time to another suitable Champion ranked trainer.

For trainers wishing to swap regions that have different classifications there are a number of rules and regulations regarding Pokémon. Nuzlocke caught Pokémon cannot leave a Nuzlocke region without special testing and certifications proving the Pokémon in question isn't a threat and that the trainer knows how to use reasonable force in battles be they wild or trainer. It is possible for trainers moving to Union regions to obtain licenses for force but these are only applicable when used against dangerous wild Pokémon, again such as raid mons.

Both Nuzlocke and Union regions provide licenses for trainers to carry more than six Pokémon at a time, but only a maximum of six Pokémon can ever be used during a singular battle. In Union regions this rule typically only exists for the sake of ride Pokémon or service Pokémon but Nuzlocke trainers have been known to use this rule to keep multiple battle ready teams on their person, especially more powerful trainers.

Region Specific Lore and Worldbuilding

Kanto/Johto: Kanto and Johto due to proximity have remained consistently linked in terms of status, sharing a singular league between the two. During the course of Red and Blue it was still a Nuzlocke region but has long since joined the Union the term only just barely still applied. Immediately after during the time in which Lance was coming into power as champion, the join regions were finally declared officially Union.

Hoenn: Before the Union was officially recognized, Hoenn had a proto-union of sorts due in large part to the existence of contests. Nuzlocke rulings were often contradictory to what contests necessitated and the death of popular contest Pokémon could often cause large scale upset. The transfer to Union ruling was exceptionally easy for Hoenn and it's been Union ever since.

Sinnoh: To this day, Sinnoh is still a Nuzlocke region and you can thank Cynthia for that. She is not actively malicious, but she isn't particularly kind either. She loves her own team but has no special care for other trainers Pokémon which has inspired a similar disposition in the rest of the region. Cynthia has shown no signs of wanting to become a Union regulated region and because of this Sinnoh is something of a safe haven for trainers who prefer Nuzlocke ruling.

Unova: Until recently, Unova was a Nuzlocke region. During Alder's younger days he was a trainer who sought strength, which was encouraged. When he lost his partner it was a wake up call. Between that and the rise of Team Plasma, the region began to shift priorities and during the end of his time as Champion, Alder began the framework to get the region union recognized. By the events of B2W2, the region is already officially Union status having historically been one of the fastest regions to meet the requirements outside of the founders.

Kalos: Kalos has a complicated history due to the actions of Team Flare. While regarded as a Union region for most of the time the Union has existed, the actions of Team Flare managed to cause the region to slip into Nuzlocke classifications temporarily before the region was brought back under control. The awakening of the legends in X and Y caused a surge of more violent and powerful Pokémon that had to be quelled, though the situation was rather quickly rectified.

Alola: Alola itself is a difficult topic due to how young its actual league is. It lacked a champion until very recently and because of that it was also a Nuzlocke region, lacing any Union presence as well. Because of this, Alola is up there as one of the most dangerous regions alongside Sinnoh. Upon receiving a champion the league immediately got to work trying to get the region up to Union standards but it's been a long and slow process as a lot of trainers have been resisting the change.

Galar: Galar is one of the oldest Union regions, having helped to establish the union as a present force. This can especially be seen in the fact that the role of Champion for this region has been split into two, with a powerful active Champion to take care of threats and the role of Chairman filling in for the bureaucratic duties that Champions in other regions would also shoulder.

Paldea: Paldea is a long standing Union region, however, the existence of Paradox Pokémon poses a certain degree of threat. As long as they remain in the great crater then the region as a whole remains up to Union standards and Area Zero can be carefully monitored. If the Paradox Pokémon begin escaping however... Well, Union regions can be reclassified as Nuzlocke if they stop meeting all necessary standards.

I love my job, but I wish I didn't want to work and could create all day. There are so many creative long term projects I want to take on, but don't have enough time in the day to regularly keep up with even a fraction of them.

Capitalism sucks for many reasons, but this is one of them.

the nuzlocke virus

crawls up out of the abyss after five hundred years with a weird pokemon post sup hope yall are doing well have my lore explanation for nuzlockes

In most cases, a trainer never once thinks about their ID, the string of numbers that allows the box system and PC to recognise them and allows them access to their stored Pokémon. Usually, it works with no hiccups and no issues.

But sometimes, it doesn’t.

Sometimes, it breaks completely.

This can be evident from the moment the ID is generated, or be caused by a glitch in the system. Whatever the case, this error is known as the Nuzlocke Virus, or more commonly, the Nuz Virus.

Essentially, this error in a trainer’s ID causes it to interpret a fainted Pokémon’s data as nonsense. The Pokémon itself is fine -- there is no actual damage to the Pokémon’s data, but the box system and Trainer ID cannot properly communicate, and as such the PC labels the fainted Pokémon as garbage data. It will prevent the Pokémon from being healed, effectively trapping it in a permanent “fainted” state as long as its trainer’s ID remains bugged.

When a fainted Pokémon is stored in the PC, its ball is flagged as “empty” by the system and therefore prevented from opening at all. Because the ball is marked as empty, all attempts to heal the Pokémon will fail as the ball now considers itself empty, with no Pokémon inside to heal.

Attempting to use said “empty” ball to capture a new Pokémon fails as well. Even though it thinks it contains no Pokémon, there are safeguards in place, independent of the box system and Trainer ID, that prevent a ball with any previous data whatsoever from capturing a Pokémon. This is why you can’t reuse a Poké Ball that failed to capture a target; it’s far better to waste a ball than risk overwriting an existing Pokémon with another.

It should be noted that the Nuz Virus can only affect Pokémon who are 1) owned by an affected ID, and 2) faint. It’s called a “virus” because every Pokémon owned by a bugged ID is basically “infected”; they may not ever have the effect activate, but the potential is there.

Contrary to some belief, the Nuz Virus cannot spread to other IDs, even if a trade is successfully managed. In some cases, the ID is only partially scrambled which allows the Trade System -- which works semi-independently of the PC -- to recognise enough data to facilitate a trade.

The moment a traded Pokémon’s ID updates, it acts exactly as is expected. It can be traded and revived normally, with no ill effects.

However, this does mean that any Pokémon traded to a Nuz Virus ID will also have its Trainer ID updated, and be affected by the bug.

Nuz Virus IDs can be patched, but each one requires multiple data points in order to pinpoint the error -- that is, it requires multiple Pokémon to faint. This is often frowned upon, as even though the affected Pokémon remained unharmed, it can be stressful to be trapped in such a way. There is often no clear “right” answer in this situation, as most trainers find out that they have a bugged ID when their first Pokémon faints.

The question becomes: push on and succeed despite this limitation and the potential judgement of everyone around you in order to find a patch... or simply stop, give up on your dreams, and effectively abandon that first partner?

someone liked one of my TOH headcanon posts from earlier this year and it reminded me about the specific headcanons i have for exactly what types of games the hexsquad plays and how they play them.

luz is obv an RPG fantasy fan. anything with a juicy story and a character creator and complex lore she’ll love. she definitely plays series like elder scrolls and baldur’s gate and final fantasy. she also plays final fantasy 14 and has her character as the good witch luzura and she isnt good at playing it like an mmo is supposed to be played but she loves the story. when endwalker came out luz couldnt stop sobbing to the point that camila was actually worried about her. also enjoys roguelikes such as hades or binding of isaac even if she can only play for so long before getting too frustrated. she also 100% plays genshin impact and gets into arguments online with other genshin fans.

amity is a fighting game girl. she is highly competitive and practices combos with her eyes shut. she prefers the tekken series but when luz wants to play with her they play guilty gear bcus luz likes it’s art style the most. she also likes fantasy RPGs but is way more picky about which ones she plays. she likes fire emblem. she also plays ff14 with luz and is actually good at the game (she carries luz sometimes) but isnt a huge fan of MMOs. she also is the one in the friend group with the NASA ass PC rig with a custom case and the most organized wiring you’ve ever seen with the lcd screen on the liquid cooled cpu and the azura figurine inside the case. she also does custom wraps for all her consoles.

hunter likes games that are very much like, micromanagement sims. like civ5 or cities skylines or factorio (i dont know anything about it but ive been assured by my sister that hunter plays modded factorio) but he’s also a fan of like, old school FPS games like doom and half life. i can see him doing speedruns of those games. (also he 100% once got addicted to some game like fuckin. galactic pinball or something to the point where he was staying up all night and not sleeping so he could play more pinball. in order to get him to stop playing so much and actually get some sleep, gus used illusions to make hunter think he was hallucinating about pinball and scared him into not looking at a single screen or monitor for like three weeks.)

gus is a very chill gamer but he likes games that he can sink hours and hours into. instead of playing a wide variety of games he has a select few that he dedicates his time into learning every last mechanic, but there’s also some games he just plays casually. like with pokemon games he’ll put hundreds of hours into them and carefully curate his team and does like nuzlocke runs but when he plays on his and willow’s shared-custody new horizons island he’ll just walk around and catch bugs and shit and not really worry about upgrading his house and make matching fits with his favorite villager.

willow prefers cozy games, like slime rancher or stardew valley or the aforementioned shared new horizons island, but she’s also a fucking menace about them. like she goes HARD on the min-maxing and automation and shit. while gus is wandering around their island catching fish, willow’s busy rearranging her fully upgraded mansion up in the hills and harassing any villagers she doesnt like with nets and deciding what hybrids to plant in front of her bell trees (she only has bell trees for the aesthetic. gus isnt allowed to harvest them) she would also be running the most high profit slime ranch ever but the way she treats her slimes makes hunter upset whenever he sees her just fuckin throwing them off a cliff the second they arent useful to her anymore. (meanwhile hunter names each one of his slimes and always feeds them their favorite foods and cried over casey & beatrix)

vee enjoys survival/strategic horror games, like DBD, resident evil, deadspace, or even FNAF. she’s the type of person to see the goriest most violent death in a video game ever and just go “ew yucky” then carry on. masha and her are often playing DBD together while in a call and are the most annoying pair of suvivors ever. she also likes games such as original katamari and pikmin 1 and chulip. she's also the undefeated DDR champion of the friend group.

and of COURSE they all play video games together. they all have a terraria world they play on together where they all are focused on their own little projects while still working together and are slowly building up their own village/mansion/castle/fort but luz keeps rushing ahead of everyone just bcus she's so excited and she definitely somehow ends up summoning the wall of flesh accidentally

they DID have a modded minecraft world for a few months with both tech mods and magic mods but while hunter, amity, and vee all focused on their factories and computers and technology, gus, willow, and luz fucked around with all the crazy magic and accidentally found out by blowing up a factory. this is where heightened tension between the the warlocks & the scientists began. this spark eventually turned into a full fledged war that lasted two months before it ended in mutually assured destruction to the point where no one could actually load into the server without their game crashing.

bonus: camila isnt much of a gamer with one exception-- when she was in college manny introduced her to WoW and got her hooked. it was Their Game that they played together all the time. they made cosplays of their characters together. they had several dates in game. they optimized their characters to perfect compliment one another when they ran dungeons with their guild. even since manny passed camila still plays every so often and keeps in touch with their guild members. for the longest time luz has 0 idea that camila plays WoW at all and only finds out after the whole secret nerd confession.

I never really talked about how much having jaidenanimations on the qsmp means to me.

I’ve been watching Jaiden for YEARS. she’s one of my childhood youtubers basically. i mean, i’m still young but i’ve been growing up watching her.

I loved watching Jaiden progressively go from just story-time animations, to making animations about games she’s played, to making a second channel with primarily gameplay footage, to doing full on livestreams!

Jaiden’s the one who made THE pokemon nuzlocke animations. If you’ve seen her Platinum video, you know she’s an amazing storyteller.

Let me tell you, Jaiden was literally the last person I ever expected to join qsmp. Never in my life did i think Wilbur fucking Soot would interact with Jaiden god damn Animations.

Jaiden’s character on qsmp will always be so special to me. She’s created amazing lore and friendships. I’m so happy Quackity invited her onto this server. ♥️

Another big post of Pokemon stuff I did last year

These two are sort of ultra beast regional variants. The lore I created was that they got stuck into a horror void dimension and overtime adapted to the unique environment. Their names are Gorgullet and Dr. Hyme.

These two, Saulver and Lycansau, are the split evolutions of Sauav from my last fakemon post. My concept was a wolf in sheep’s clothing/werewolf, and a werewolf hunter.

Here are some bug type fakemon I’ve made. I actually really like bug type Pokemon but I hate having to look at real life bugs for inspiration. The one on the left is a dragon moth mage and the one on the right is a zombie ninja wearing a straight jacket(for some reason but at least it’s cool(imo)).

Lastly, for this post, these are me and my friend’s Pokémon SV Nuzlocke SoulLink ocs. Their names are Vivi and Mary. I might have made a mistake with naming my Sprigatito after my irl cat. I’ve already begged to revive him once lmao.

So something I've realized recently is that I tend to massively overlevel my Pokemon while playing, and as such I usually steamroll my way through every battle. Can I request Nemona from Scarlet and Violet with an S/O who usually ends every battle in just one hit? Like how would she react to having a partner/rival who is just that strong of a trainer?

Can’t help but wince when she sees how easily you defeat a trainer in battle. Just imagining the power difference between your pokemon and their’s causes her to feel bad. Also hopes their pokemon is okay because that was a really strong hit.

She’s a champion so she has her own super strong pokemon, but she doesn’t want to make battle too easy (and doesn’t want to send other pokemon to the hospital).

That’s why she makes sure to have pokemon from each area so she can train them up and use them when needed.

Still cheers you on when you win, but maybe you should switch out pokemon. Try a different team and learn new battle strategies!

When I was like, 12 I discovered Myths of Unova, a Pokemon White nuzlocke comic by ky-nim that has incredible lore, characters, and art that concluded a while back. Episode Grey, a sequel series that came out recently, seems to be on hiatus while the author is doing med school but nonetheless I still love this series and uhhhh I wrote fanfic for it lol. Spoilers for supplementary lore content and the end of the comic series! I also kind of made up an Ancient Unovan oc that isn’t in existing lore for the purposes of this fic so it’s not entirely MoU canon compliant.

@kynimdraws I hope you like this! MoU is my favorite nuzlocke comic and it brought me so much joy as a teenager and now, and the lore is beautiful! I spent a lot of time rereading the lore posts on the MoU blog for this too, so much fun.

The General’s Memory

“Huh. Hey N? Can you take a look at this?” N walked over to Hawes, who was bent over the table examining a number of heavily yellowed pages.

“Yeah, what is it?”

“This looks to be handwritten in Ancient Unovan, and I can’t make out the letters very well. Do you think you could give it a go?”

N slipped on the offered pair of gloves and gently picked up a page, passing a magnifying glass over it. “It’s a bit faint, but I think I can read it. It says…”

He faltered. Hawes frowned and moved towards the younger man in concern.

“You okay?”

N blinked and shook his head. “Yeah, no, I’m fine. It just…one of the words at the top of the page says ‘Kyuvos.’”

“Kyuvos?” Hawes’ eyes widened. “That name was on that reconstructed family tree that Lenora’s working on, right?”

N nodded. “I…he was Reshai’s son. My direct ancestor. And this…” he scanned the page. “This can’t have been written by him, but it must be from someone who knew him. His name comes up frequently.”

“I think this one might be the first page,” Hawes offered, holding up a page with a larger heading in the center in the same handwriting as the others. N took it and squinted at the text.

“It says…’Memories’. And then there’s a name underneath. Presta…Praestig…Praestigia. Oll…no, Illi? Illee..that’s an n sound, so Illene. Illene Praestigia.”

He frowned thoughtfully. “Kyuvos’ wife was named Aris Praestigia.”

“A relative then?” Hawes suggested.

“Maybe.” N glanced over the other pages. “I think this is the next one.”

He began to read aloud, slowly and carefully.

I was not yet thirteen years old when the Great War ended. Truly even as I look back on those times at my current age, most of the finer details are quite hazy. But I remember the smell of flowers strewn in the streets, the joyous cries of human and Pokémon alike. And the purple drapery hung over every window in mourning for the two kings.

I remember holding my younger sister’s hand as we stood in line with our parents and countless other nobles, waiting for our turn to pay respects. Former enemies cried with one another, murmuring their prayers as the scent of chrysanthemums filled the air.

When we reached the royals, our parents made us bow in respect. His Highness Lord Navos Decretia thanked us for our attendance in the quiet, dignified manner that I would come to associate with him during my service to the Royal Family. Her Highness Lady Lilion Roburia then thanked us for the flowers we had brought, and my father said something about condolences that I do not recall.

The boy then called Prince Kyuvos, my younger by five years, barely spared us a glance. His gaze kept wandering to the side, where a frankly enormous pile of flowers was forming over twin empty graves.

Prince Remil however nodded his head to my parents, and then to myself and my sister. Aris suddenly let go of my hand and ran forward, pushing the daisies she had picked on our way there into both Princes’ hands.

My father began to scold her, but Prince Kyuvos suddenly spoke, thanking Aris for the gift. She nodded, head down as she returned to my side. I think she was a little scared to be there. She was only six years old, after all.

“Who will be King now?” She asked Mother when the ceremony had concluded.

“Prince Kyuvos is next in line,” Mother said solemnly.

“That poor boy will carry the weight of this legacy for the rest of his life,” Father murmured.

“All by himself?” Aris asked, looking back at the royal family standing over the grave.

“He will have his family,” Mother said. “It will be alright.”

Dear Aris, my sweet younger sister. If it is you who is reading this after I have returned to the Dragon Force, please do not judge me too harshly when I say sometimes I wish Father had chosen another man for you.

Do not mistake my words, I loved Kyuvos as I would a brother, and the betrothal and wedding was a wonderful celebration as the region was recovering from the war. But I would have traded my own life if the tragedy surrounding him were not to have fallen on my sister’s shoulders, all the whispers and the jeers.

When the Twin Dragons began to ravage the land, I had just turned thirty and three years old. Young to be a general, at least that’s what many would comment in private.

Bless Elyias, for though I could never be the wife he deserved, he understood my calling was to defend our people with the sword rather than the written word, as was his style. I promised him I would not leave the capital until our son was a man in his own right, but war does not care for such oaths.

It would be far worse for my Kings, however. Remil - now King Remil I should say, was not yet betrothed when we went to battle against his father and uncle. But it had hardly been a month since the joy of Aris and Kyuvos’ wedding when disaster struck.

I do not wish to recount everything I saw in those times. But I became sick to the heavens of purple, so much that one morning when I saw myself in the mirror, I took my own sword and struck at the long violet locks surrounding my face, the hair my mother had so loved.

Kyuvos and Remil were quite surprised when I showed up to the war council that day with my hair shorn to just below my ears. Remil was too polite to say anything, but Kyuvos later jokingly told me I reminded him a little of the portraits of his grandmother King Asha. I am still not sure if I like the comparison.

The night before we were to set out to confront the dragons for the last time, I received a letter from Aris. The messenger who delivered it to my tent said he’d been told to spare no time in its conveyance, and instantly I became struck with fear that something had happened to our parents.

Imagine to my surprise then when the letter revealed that both were in good health, but I was to become an aunt! My first thought was that Erien would be delighted - he’d always wanted a younger sibling, but one pregnancy had been almost unbearable for me. A cousin would do just fine.

My joy at the news was sorely tempered by the next lines of the letter.

Illene, I beg of you not to tell Kyuvos. Or Remil, or anyone for that matter. I have not even told Mother - only the nurses know. I will start showing in a month or two, but if Kyuvos is to leave his mission now then I fear the worst for our homeland.

Were it not for my deep affection for Aris and loyalty to my people, I likely would have marched straight over to Kyuvos’ tent and demanded that he return to my sister’s side right then and there, rampaging dragon-kings be damned. But instead I bit my lip and finished reading the message.

My dear sister, I hate to ask more of you after all you have shouldered to protect Unova, but my heart begs this request. Look out for Kyuvos. I know you already do as his general, but as his sister-in-law, promise me you will make sure he is careful. Should my child grow up missing a parent as Kyuvos did, my heart would not withstand the grief.

Dear Aris, when did you grow up? It seems as if only yesterday you were struggling to walk as I played at knight with stripped tree branches in our parents’ garden.

But a promise is a promise, even if one cannot hear it spoken aloud. In the quiet of that evening, by the glow of my lantern, I swore I would protect Kyuvos not as my King, but my brother-in-law, with my sword, my shield, and my life.

Kyuvos survived the next day. The same could not be said for Remil.

Reader, if Aris you are not, there is something you must understand about Kyuvos Harmonia. As harsh a hand life had dealt him, he always tried to see the light in the storm. He was always full of hope that his and Remil’s mission would be seen to its end, and would tell us about things we would do after the ritual was completed.

“Parent and Father will dote on Aris and our children,” he said fondly one night as we played a game of chess. “Remil will be married and have children of his own, and Uncle Zekrias will carry all the little ones on his shoulders. You and Aunt Lilion will teach them the art of the sword, and the castle will be filled to the brim with such joy and laughter as have never been seen before.”

For the ritual to go so horribly wrong, for the cousin Kyuvos loved as a younger brother to be taken from him, I believe it broke something in him. I have not heard him laugh or speak of such soft wishes since that day.

Remil would never be married. Never have children, never dote on his nieces and nephews or watch me teach them to fight. I watched as Kyuvos wrapped his cousin’s broken and bloody body in his own snow white cape, head hanging low as he clutched Remil in his arms.

I knelt to the ground, and all behind me followed, bowing our heads in silence for our fallen King.

Kyuvos lifted Remil up and began to carry him back. I rose to meet him, the chill of the wind a frosty bite at the back of my neck. He did not say anything, only looked at me with an expression of emptiness I had never seen on him before.

In the days immediately after Remil’s death, it was I who gave the orders, who oversaw the gathering of the wounded and dead, who took the lead as we marched home. Kyuvos did not speak once until we were at the gates of the capital. He had been by the cart that contained Remil this whole time.

“What will I say to Auntie?” was all I heard before he fell silent once more.

“N? Hey, are you still with us?”

N blinked and looked up at Hawes. “I…yeah. It’s just…”

“A lot, huh,” Hawes smiled kindly. N nodded.

“She…they all suffered so much. All because of the dragons…and I released both of them.”

Hawes frowned. “You were manipulated, and you made a mistake. In the end, no one was seriously hurt.”

“But they could have been,” N murmured. “Zekrias…he killed his own son. What if when I’d summoned Zekrom, Nina…”

He trailed off. Hawes took off his archival gloves and put his hands on N’s shoulders.

“It’s okay, N. Nina’s alive, you’re alive. And you’re doing better. You’re honoring your ancestors by helping to preserve their memory. I’d say that’s something to be proud of.” He smiled.

“…Thanks, Mr. Hawes.”

Hawes patted N’s shoulder. “Anytime. Now, shall we go catalogue the journal in the official records?”

N nodded. “Sounds good.”

So the other day I made this post about my personalized Nuzlocke lore. And well, as a writer of course there's a point to my world building and in this case it's Dipplinshipping.

So I purpose to you a Juliana who grew up in Alola and knows damn well what it's like to loose a Pokémon and how that would absolutely change the dynamic between her and angsty era Kieran who by contrast would not have lost any mons.

Intrigued as to what an "illegal nuzlocker" is in your oc lore. Like, if a pokemon fainted in battle, they took it out back and shot it???

think of how dog fights work. So illegal Nuzloker is two people battling until one pokemon dies. There is a more- "merciful" way to end the pokemon- which is what you said, Just shoot it.

My friends and I are still on our pokémon nuzlocke bullshit so I'm still poke obsessed.

But separately I'm also on my how to train your dragon bullshit and I realized how similar the relationship progression of Ash and Pikachu and of Hiccup and Toothless is.

They should meet.

Ash getting slung on Berk would have pretty much the same effect as Hiccup ending up in Unova. Going from no electricity to that would probably give the kid an aneurysm before he starts taking pokedexes apart to learn how to build them. I don't think Toothless would scare people as much as they'd probably assume he was a legendary from another region. He'd be Dragon type, probably pure.

Toothless and Pikachu wouldn't be able to communicate, which would probably weird Toothless out since usually he's not this cut out from the rest of the world. I mean, Hiccup and Ash also probably speak different languages here, but it's easier for humans to learn a new language than it is for animals from different universes to do so.

For these kinds of universe shananigans I can always only think of a few main culprits, Arceus being the main one. I mean It does a lot of things for Its self without worrying about who It's using. Palkia and Dialga might not be the teleporting around type, but Giratina might meddle. And the Lake Guardians do some kind of transportation shananigans sometimes but they're not as mischievous iirc.

Thinking about Hiccup somehow meeting Lugia and being all "it's ok it's ok" *hand think* while Lugia looks at Ash and goes "is this kid fr?" And Hiccup has a heart attack because he's never heard a Dragon talk. And pokemon also usually don't so this was a surprise all around.

Them exchanging stories of how they met their life long partner.

"I uuh- I shot him down. He can't fly without the artificial tail fin I made. But hey! He got me back, didn't he? Couldn't save all of me, so-" *points* "peg leg."

*Warble*

"Woah. And you made it? Both of them?"

"Yeah. Took me a while to perfect the design but now Toothless can fly with my help. I... Tried making him one he didn't need me for, but he rejected it."

*nods* "I get it."

"We didn't get along for a while. I was scared and he was resentful. But I was also stubborn and he was curious. "

*chuckle* "Me and Pikachu didn't either."

"Yeah?"

*nods* "He didn't want a trainer, and I didn't want him as my Pokémon. But, like you, I was stubborn. And even though we didn't get along, I never would've let him get hurt."

"Naturally."

"So when a murder of Sparrow attacked us, I protected him. And then he did the same. And I think we started bonding more because of the trust and respect that came from that incident."

"Pikapi! Pi pika pika-chuu."

*nods* "True. It wasn't smooth sailing. But with time, we really came from an understanding."

"And now you're inseparable?" *Smile*

*smile back* "yeah."

I was also thinking about what pokémon Toothless would be if this was a universe fusion and not a universes meeting kinda situation and I came to the conclusion that it should be Zekrom.

C'mon. Night Furies are said to be the "unholy offspring of lightning and death itself". I can totally see some culture getting that idea if they know the original story and lore.

I don't know what the Red death would be in this scenario, but this would be like a Hisui situation with people hating or being scared of Pokemon in general. I have less ideas for universe fusions type crossover.

Lucifer

First time seeing him I would be like: "Daddy? sorry, daddy?-" Can't lie alright.

It would probably start with a mutual roommate relationship.

Just like, "ok I guess I live with you now" kind of relationship.

I would think he's attractive but he's kinda mean so I would not have a crush or anything maybe later or something

I would probably follow the rules, because you know, it's litteraly his job to make sure I'm save, so I would probably listen to him.

Since I take alot of time to open up to people and he does too, it's gonna be like that for a while.

I think it's gonna change with alcohol.

We're going from: "dude I live with" to "Drinking buds"

And that turns into bonding over daddy issues. 😃👍

And that turns into: "Let me make fun of you, grandpa!"

I'm gonna make fun of him so much.
