Attention: There may be a new scam thing (might also not be new)
Okay so I just got a weird notification from drive telling me I got shared a folder. The name of the folder was suspicious as fuck and thank my gods it was but my guess is that if this is a scam it might not always be the case!
Mine was from someone I'd never heard of and I definitely have not recently asked anyone to share any Google Drive folders or documents or anything with me.
Still, had the folder been titled something more innocent or innocuous, I might have been more inclined to click it or look into it.
So, just a PSA/WARNING to be on the look out for something like this. If you get something unsolicited no matter if it's a folder or a Google doc or anything! If you did not ask someone to share something on Google drive with you, DO NOT OPEN IT.
Instead click the three dots on the folder/document/whatever that are to the right of the item. Find report or block. Make sure you click the first option (I think it's called "spam" or something like that as it includes anything from unsolicited things, to malware, viruses, and phishing attempts.
My guess is that this scam most assuredly falls into one of the last three categories and sometimes just opening the thing can cause the bad thing to take place (i.e. you get the virus or malware or it immediately directs you to the phishing scam). Point is, it doesn't matter. Don't tempt the fates. Just get rid of it and don't look back. Doing what I instructed above will clear it from your drive without you having to take any further steps and insures they won't try to send anything further, at just via that particular account. It's my hope that it also blocks IP addresses and not just the account but that's not a guarantee so stay vigilant as they may try multiple times. So just remember, if you're not expecting something, block and report immediately.
PLEASE REBLOG AND SHARE TO GET THE WORD OUT.

SCAMMER ON TUMBLR
Please blow this up. I almost got scammed and I don't want it to happen to anyone else.
Tumblr media
this user is a scammer. I made a post asking for help because I'm in desperate need of money. this person responded.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was wary but desperate so I decided to try.
this is their number:
(402) - 913 - 0144
it started off simple enough, they offered to send me $250 but it became clear today that it was all a scam.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
DO NOT FALL FOR IT.
the only reason I didn't fall for it is because of the inconsistencies they were saying and because I have a friend that works at a bank. other people may not be so fortunate. please block them.
Tumblr media
these screenshots are only some of the bullshit they were spouting.
once I called them out on their inconsistencies they stopped responding. please don't fall for it, scammers are disgusting and the scum of the earth.

I had someone try to do this to me today. I got a fairly high-paying order for just a single can of cat food. As soon as I accepted it, I got a call that caller ID identified as “[DeliveryCompanyRedacted] Order”, but when I picked up the call, the person on the other end claimed they were with support and told me not to pick up the order because the customer put in the wrong address and wanted to cancel, then started asking me for personal information about my account.
They didn’t even manage to get through the whole spiel explaining why they needed that information because I was so annoyed that a) they were calling me when I was trying to do my job rather than just handling it on their end & b) I could barely hear half of what they were saying that I just hung up. I didn’t even think “oh, this might be a phishing scam” until after I talked to actual support through their chat line.
I verified that the order was not in fact being canceled and proceeded with the order. When I was checking out with the order, I hadn’t even mentioned any of this when the cashier told me it was weird that another delivery driver had just come through with the exact same order from the exact same company right before me, and that’s when the suspicion that the call had been part of a scam solidified into “oh yeah this is 100% part of a scam”.
So yeah, PSA! Just be aware if you drive delivery for any of these third-party delivery services, this is a scam that’s going around. Don’t click any links, don’t give out personal information or anything ljnked to your account to customers or support. Support will not ask you for account login or bank information. Stay safe!

Phishing awareness
If you receive a message like this. Ignore it and don’t input your username and password no matter what. As you can see the site looks legit as fuck but it ain’t lol.
I know a lot of people are already aware of this type of scam but it won’t hurt to post awareness for some of us who don’t know.

Artists, beware the cryptobro account Montero175. He labels himself an "Art collector" but he's going around begging people to turn their art into NFTs for him. That's not art collecting. That's a scam.
Tumblr media
His replies read like a generated bot. Like, guys, if you wanna support artists by purchasing their art, then buy prints or commissions from them. NFTs among every cryptocurrency phad have been, and always will be scams. It's not a viable currency, these cryptobros are just pretending to be rich.

fell for a scam a few months back, and the despicable prick is back at it.
@wanderleivanderlei is just about certainly a phishing account, and if you get an ask from them or anyone claiming a similar fundraiser to "my pet is injured here's shit to prove my vet is real please help me", do not fall for it. if you're actually dealing with a crisis with your pet; sorry, but the scams are too bad here for it to be worth putting up a fundraiser here.
whoever keeps running these, i'm sure they're working on a tenth circle in hell just for you; go fuck yourself.
if you run by this post, seriously. please reblog so more people don't fall for these things like i did a while back.

ATTENTION!
Looks like the Ray Ban thing is going around again, only this time it's Louis Vuitton.
I spotted this post on my dashboard and I have no doubt it's a hack similar to the ray-bans one. Do not click that link, it's almost certainly not a discount link; Don't risk your account!
@immerso-sims has been hacked: if you can read this post, you should to change your account password!
Tumblr media
Looks like the Ray-Bans situation is repeating itself, so let this be your reminder to not click suspicious looking links and to turn on 2 factor authentication if you're able to.

New scam, everyone!
This one is particularly hilarious to me because,
1 I’m not an art blog
2 the link to the new “platform” is a Google Doc

Hey has anyone seen any scams that look like this? My friend has gotten these texts a couple ish weeks apart. They are clearly following a very specific dialog tree. But they stop replying very quickly. This is the whole conversation both times. My friend is not either of the names they say, nor did he have any recent meetings with ppl as described. We came figure out what the point is or what the scammers or bots are trying to accomplish?

I just got another one of those phishing emails where it pretends to be a confirmation of a subscription you never signed up for and tries to trick you into providing personally identifying information for "confirmation purposes" when you attempt to cancel, but:
a. this one is for a weekly grocery delivery service, of all things; and
b. the fake shopping list contains nothing but ham.
I have been fraudulently subscribed to ham.
