it’s fine i don’t care about imogen’s conviction that ending her own mother is the only path ahead of her, with all of the comfort and foundation of her own identity rooted in the connection with her mom, imogen’s already conceded from the influence of those around her that, yes, liliana’s death is how this should end. yes of course imogen agrees, liliana is one of the bad guys. she also wants to destroy her. all affirmed so hollowly. imogen will show up for that. anything else would just mean imogen’s bad, right?

okay now that i'm calmer i can constructively discuss one of the things that made me lose my temper earlier. guys Please stop being weird about indigenous actors. in doing digging into the ~*~controversy~*~ tonight, i've yet to find any proof of ian ousley having committed any crime except belonging to a tribe that isn't federally recognized. (the thing about the tribe being a fake business venture or only having existed since 2012 has, as far as i've found, been debunked.)
federal tribal recognition is based around historical treaties, and you NEED to not base your idea of who is "actually native" on who the colonial occupying government says is native. if you didn't know this stuff and didn't feel like fact-checking prior to sharing then i'd recommend you pause in the future before reposting stories that make you mad.
this is close to my heart given that one of my partners is native american with a long family history on the rez and a lot of strong feelings about anti-colonialism. i Desperately don't want to have to blacklist atla entirely because i love it so much (the original cartoon, at least - haven't watched the live action yet), but like. I Need You Guys To Stop. For Real. Blease 🙏

So I love the fact that Kinnporsche is a wild departure from the typical BL university storyline but...please consider, for a moment, the hysterical potential of forcing them back into a University AU.
We’ve got:
Kinn and Vegas as competing new assistant professors in the Criminology Department, with wildly diverging major lines of research, constantly trying to steal each other’s students
All the bodyguards are either grad students or postdocs. Pete is taking a literal decade to finish his degree because he’s triple majoring in crim, history, and English literature.
Korn and Gun are the Dean and Associate Dean of the College of Life Sciences and Humanities
Tankhun was a rising star doing his dissertation work as an ethnography of gang violence but ended up actually getting kidnapped and tortured and never finished his degree.
Kim jumped ship and is majoring in MUSIC of all things (Chay is an incoming freshman in the music department).
Porsche didn't even go to undergrad but he's got the real-life experience and connections needed to gain trust in the illegal underground fighting world, which is what Kinn's research centers around, so Korn pulls some strings to get him into grad school with Kinn as his major prof. (The kidnapping and forest plot happens when a focus group they’re conducting with some informants goes sideways)
And crim is such a perfect department, half of all crim profs have super sketchy criminal backgrounds and half are like...actual cops. So you’ve got the minor family branch on the criminal side and the main family branch on the cop side, but the truth is that both are equally dirty and brutal, the cop/main family side just has this veneer of legitimacy and respectability.
Vegas’ research is on deviance and violent offenders and prison abolition and the functional role of crime in society, and Kinn is trying to steer his students towards enforcement and prison 'reform' and how profiling people actually works and how if you ARE the law then you’re ABOVE the law and not only can but should break the rules to enforce what you believe is right.

I have a deeply disturbing headcanon - demiromantic Claudius.
He never meant to fall in love with Gertrude. They had a really close and happy platonic bond, and Hamlet Sr. was also glad to see his brother get along with his wife (which was not all that common in any marriage at the time). Until one day Claudius realized his feelings had transformed.
Claudius is confused and horrified. He had never felt this towards anyone. He asks Polonius for help (without revealing who the subject of his love is) and Polonius cannot give him advice because Polonius doesn't understand romantic love either. He asks Hamlet Sr. for help, again without revealing the subject of his love, and Hamlet Sr. tells him it's romantic feelings. One feeling of infatuation leads to a complex spiral of jealousy and irrationality, and next thing he knows he's killed his brother and begging Gertrude for forgiveness. Gertrude sees that his devotion is genuine and accepts their situation.
And this is why he and Gertrude so easily believe that Hamlet has "gone mad for love". Because he has gone mad for love, and they've seen the effects.
