opening: Steven finds your cracked gem in Lion's mane. After coming back, you meet Pearl and to your surprise, things have changed. You have some explaining to do to the crystal gems, and most importantly to Pearl.

AN// It’s been literally ages since I watched steven universe, but I saw Pearl recently again and- well it turns out I still love her so here, have a lil fanfic ! Reader can by any gem, They/them pronouns used^^

“The dance of swordsmen.”

Steven rushed back into the house, a gem he had never seen before cradled in his arms. The door slammed shut behind him, leaving Lion outside. With swift movements the young boy took the yet unknown gem to the table, near the couch. What he hadn’t noticed were the crystal gems, who had been gathered around the kitchen counter. They looked at eachother with slight worry and confusion before one by one getting up. Steven only noticed them, when he was turning around to call out for one of them. “I found them bubbled in Lion’s mane! We have to help them!” He cried out, turning back to look at you. Yet again, he was so quick with his movements that he had missed the expressions of the crystal gems. Pearl’s expression had turned to utter shock, you couldn’t see Garnet’s face, but she had turned to Pearl, understanding the situation. Amethyst being the youngest of the group, looked only confused.

Pearl covered her mouth with her hands, tears almost spilling out. She felt Garnet’s eyes on her, but she couldn’t take her’s off of your gem. The gem Steven had found couldn’t have been the one she thought it was, there was no way. Rose had explained the whole story to her long ago, and she had believed it.

Steven licked his hand, and placed his palm on top of the cracked gem gently. The formerly cracked gem sparkled for a moment, and when Steven finally lifted his hand, the crack was gone. The before uneven and harsh surface, now repaired and shiny. Garnet’s hand left Pearl’s shoulder as the gem began to glow and rise up from the table. She pulled Steven further away from the gem, the others following along. No one seemed to have the words to say anything, as they watched the gem begin to take form. The gem floated over the table for a while, as the white mass was choosing the shape it was going to take. Soon enough, the light began to fade, and a gem fell on their knees against the table. Their hair coming down to cover their face.

As soon as the hard surface hit your knees, you sprung up. Your hands tried to grab a weapon that was no longer there, and with a couple quick steps backwards, you fell off of the table and onto the couch. “Where?!-” You yelled out, before taking a better look at your surroundings as your breathing calmed down. The two gems you had known during the war stood tall in front of an Amethyst and someone you had never seen before. “Pearl, Garnet?” You whispered out, letting yourself relax a little. You weren’t in a fight anymore. No one replied to you, but you felt someone crash onto you with full speed. Their arms making their way around you, hugging you tightly. The tears Pearl had been holding back made their way down her cheeks as she cried. “Y/N!!” The pearl yelled out, lifting her head up a little to see you, as if she couldn’t believe her own eyes. You stared at her in awe. She was the same Pearl you had known before the war and after it, but she looked completely different. You quickly scooped her into a hug again tears making their way down your face as well. As soon as you opened your eyes, you saw the other crystal gems. Garnet had a knowing, slight smile on her face, but you soon noticed that her visor was missing. Her brows were furrowed, it looked like she was happy to see you too.

Pearl got off of you, wiping her eyes while sniffling. Garnet walked up to you, and pulled you to your feet. You had to tilt your head a little to see her eyes, and her smile only grew as she looked at you. “Welcome back, Y/n.” The gem then said, placing her hand on your shoulder. After that, the visor appeared back, hiding the gem’s face. “And who…is that?” Amethyst’s voice called out, confusion clear in her voice, her words stll gaining the attention of the rest. Garnet turned around, showing you off to Steven and Amethyst. “This here, is one of the original crystal gems.” Garnet started, which Pearl joined in on. “They were with us just before Garnet joined.” She said, walking next to you. “Is that the same Amethyst? The small one?” You asked curiously, walking closer to her. Her gem was in the same spot, it must have been the same one. You had only known her for such a short time, it was no wonder she had no idea who you were. Amethyst tilted her head, still confused. “I think you had joined just before I disappeared.” You explained to her shortly, before getting out of her space. Pearl welcomed you back by putting her hand on your shoulder. You needed to know how long you had been gone for, must have been hundreds of years?

You turned your gaze to Steven. No gem you could spot on the outside. “And who are you?” You asked, kneeling down a little to his level. “I’m Steven.” He said, and quickly understood to show off his gem by lifting up his shirt. Your eyes widened at the sight of rose’s gem. “What…” You mumbled, brows furrowed. “Rose chose to have a child of her own, and gave up her own form for Steven.” Pearl’s voice said, her eyes looking at you now. “So this isn’t Rose?” You asked, a chill going down your body. More and more memories were coming back as you talked to the gems. “No, but he has her gem.” Garnet said. You turned back to Steven, smiling a little. Rose was always hard to predict. “Well hello, Steven.” You said.

The day went on, and the gems told you some of the events that had happened while you had been gone. The questions ‘where did you go?’ and ‘what happened?’ lurked around the whole time. You wanted to tell all of them what had happened and what you remembered, but you knew you had to talk to Pearl first. She was the one who had known you for the longest, and you most likely shared information that none of the other gems knew about. The bond between the two of you had been strong from the start, and having the time to talk to her alone after all these years was needed. You had fought alongside Pearl during the war. Before that, you had been Pink’s guard, and when she had faked her shattering, you had been there too. Not only you and Pearl being good swordsmen, but also being close to Pink had bought the two of you together. During the war you had even fused with her many times, and fought as something stronger. You didn’t know if Rose had told Pearl what had happened to cause her to bubble you, and you wanted to let her know first. And if Rose had said somethinf, had she told the truth?

You assured the rest of the gems that you’d tell them everything that happened as soon as you had cleared your head. They accepted that, and when night time began to come around, Garnet and Amethyst had gone their separate ways. Only you, Pearl and Steven were left in the house. Steven was in bed, but you were sure he would listen if you talked to Pearl inside the house. He seemed to be very interested in you.

Pearl was leaning over the kitchen counter, comfortable in your presence. You looked at her from the couch before slowly getting up. “Pearl.” You called out, to which she replied by quickly turning her gaze to you, and letting out a silent ‘hmm?’ “Could we talk…outside?” You requested, pointing towards the door with a nod. “Oh, of course.” She said and elegantly lifted herself off the stool she had sat on.

The gem led you outside. The walk felt short, since you had been amazed after seeing the earth again. You followed Pearl all the way to where the sand was meeting the sea. You looked around uncomfortably for a moment, before finally meeting Pearl’s eyes. “I need to tell you what happened.” You said but before she had the chance to reply you corrected yourself. “No, I want to tell you what happened.” The lowering sun illuminated orange and red colours to the surface of the sea, flashing some of the colours on both of you as well. The gem in front of you looked comforting, speaking to her about this didn’t feel so scary anymore. Pearl stayed silent, understanding what you needed to do. “Did-did Rose ever tell you…or anyone what happened?” You asked. Pearl thought for a moment, before she answered. “She told us you had gone missing on the mission you went on. We looked for you, but you were gone for good.” You could see the memory of you going missing had hurt her. She was holding back tears, again. You couldn’t bear the sight, so you continued on. “But she had my gem bubbled. She cracked it by accident.” You said, feeling like a bunch of homeworld spacecrafts had just been lifted from on top of you. Pearl took a step back, shocked to hear what you just said. “She was the one who did it?! No…” You took a gentle hold of her hands, trying to find words. “It was an accident..I’m sure. She didn’t mean to...” Pearl looked at you, years of sadness cle in her eyes. “Then why did she lie to us?” You thought for a moment, trying to find a logical reason. You all knew the ways Rose worked in, and that she was hard to read from time to time. “I guess, she didn’t want you to find out what she had done, and bubbling me was the only option to make sure I didn’t tell you either.” You then said. “Y/n, I thought you had been shattered.” The pearl’s voice shook as she spoke, grief in her voice. “I apologise, Pearl…” You pulled her in for a hug, and to your surprise the next time you opened your eyes, you didn’t feel the same.

Garnet had come back to watch you talk to Pearl on the beach. Amethyst and Steven had sneaked in as well, which Garnet had allowed since she had peaked into the future. Not to break the promise of hearing you out tomorrow, but she had wanted to see one thing. She had seen you and Pearl’s relationship during and after the war, and the fusion you created together. She had predicted correcty, and the peak into the future had confirmed it all. And now on the shore of the beach stood the fusion she hadn’t seen in years. She had her hands together in front of her face, and a giddy smile starting to form. How excited she was to see the fusion again, and to know how happy it made the both of you. Steven had stars in his eyes, as he had watched the two of you fuse, becoming one after all this time. Amethyst, still not quite sure how you knew Pearl, was almost equally happy. She was glad Pearl seemed to be happier.

You pulled out the combined weapon of the both of your personal weapon. After all this time, it felt amazing to feel the weight of it again. The elegant, yet powerful sword laid in your hands as you turned around to face the house. A blush creeped onto your face when you saw the rest of the crystal gems staring, but it didn’t matter. You felt happy.

What about platonic headcanons for Rose Quartz, Pearl, Rubi, Saphire and Garnet (sepparetly if it's possible) with an early teenager fem!pink pearl!reader (in between 11 and 14) who was abused by her owner and the gems didn't know that.

And one day she just breaks something and by seing the gem's disapointed or mad face she just breaks and falls to her knees asking for forgivenes and to not be punished in a very scared tone of voice.

(Yeah, my friend and I love angst as you can see '^^, mostly because it's our coping mecanism, and feel free to delete or ignore this ask if you're tired of angsty request)

GLIMPSES OF HER PAST (GEMS X F!READER/PLATONIC)

warnings: ptsd, mentions of abuse, i kinda filled this with my mommy issues (meh kinda but not really), mentions of “death”

reader was a gem they found poofed and trapped in some artifact and steven (or rose) freed her so now she lives with the gems, however she still hasn’t mentioned her past

sorry about the wait! i was just tying up some loose ends :/ but i’m back and better than ever hahaha

ROSE QUARTZ

- rose never pried into y/n’s past much she understood that as a pearl she was most likely unable to speak of her past owner as well

- so seeing her cowering on her knees in front of her just wrecked her

- as a diamond she was used to gems kneeling before her begging for their gems to be spared, but this was just on another level

- rose wasn’t even mad about it which is what surprised her the most

- while tears fall down y/n’s face rose just gently pulls her into a hug

- “shh. it’s okay. i won’t let anything happen to you, i promise.”

- rose had an inking about the true horrors of y/n’s last. she’d never speak to her about them in fear of upsetting the young gem

- however rose would protect her with everything she had

PEARL

- the shattering sound had interrupted her very long winded rant about sword technique

- when her head whipped around to see y/n she is quickly alerted before she even gets the chance to scold the gem

- y/n was shaking in her place before dropping to her knees and begging pearl for forgiveness

- pearl freezes not exactly knowing what to do

- “y/n, it’s just a vase.”

- when she hears her beg not to get shattered she stops in her tracks

- pearl lowers herself to the crying gems level and softens her face

- “i’m not mad. i promise. you’re okay y/n. everything is okay.”

- she almost wanted to cry seeing how genuinely terrified y/n was

- helps y/n clean up while gently reprimanding and comforting her

RUBY

- hotheaded as ever the shattering of glass caught ruby’s attention

- “just perfect! another thing i have to clean up!”

- she was already angry from a bad mission so her snapping was just her blowing off steam

- ruby quickly shuts up when she notices her crying softly

- y/n holds her gem defensively while begging not to get shattered

- ruby quickly burns out and starts to apologize

- “wha-what? no! i would never do that. i’m so sorry y/n. i was just overreacting!”

- tries her best to get y/n to calm down and it eventually works

- “geez kid what happened to you.”

SAPPHIRE

- despite how stoic she normally is y/n was still terrified of the gems still face

- the moment the vase breaks and sapphire turns around y/n immediately starts to panic

- breaks down in front of sapphire begging her not to get mad at her

- sapphire recoils slightly not seeing her react like that

- “y/n i had already foreseen it. it was an accident. i know that.”

- her reassurance does little for the gem who lets up on her crying only slightly

- sapphire tries to handle it as best she can without showing how worried she really was

- “i promise i’d never hurt you y/n. no one here would, but can you please tell me what happened to you before we found you?”

GARNET

- to say garnet didn't already for see the entire thing happening would be a lie

- yet she still couldn’t exactly find the right path to choose

- it wasn’t until the shattering of glass caught her attention

- y/n was already freaking out before she even said anything

- fat tears start to roll down her face as she begins to cry for mercy

- garnet simply walks forward and places her hand in her shoulder which freaks her out more and she cries harder

- “it is okay y/n. it was an inevitable, and mostly my mistake for not preventing it. please try and calm down.”

- garnet sits down on the floor with the crying gem and gently takes her hands

- “y/n please relax. you’re okay, i would never hurt you. and if you ever assumed i would i’m sorry for giving you that impression. just take a moment to breathe. i’m with you.”

- the motherly presence and love garnet had for the girl was so obvious and it did help her calm down

- garnet goes to get donuts with her :3

Like, "I can hear the lights and if I touch the wrong fabric I will be Upset" kind of bad, if that's alright.

Alright let’s be real, baby girl is a gremlin

You guys met in a pretty natural way—if you call being an agent normal-

At a hangout with 4 and the Squid Sisters, she took a strange liking to you

You pissed her off, even if you were the nicest person ever

Something about you made her angry, and she had no idea what it was, and when she got home…?

“I hate this, Rina! I can’t. Why are they… so…? So…?!! Ugh!”

Marina looked over at Pearl with a confused and almost disturbed look, “Uh, Pearlie…”

“And they just… ugh! I can’t take much more of this!!! Where is my mayo!?”

She couldn’t stop thinking about you and would get extremely angry that you wouldn’t leave her head, and she had barely spoken to you

You thought her anger was adorable, which made her all the more frustrated

The funniest part??? The second she talks to you she’s a puddle

You walked over to Pearl, who was trying her best to stray away from you

“Hey, Pearlie!”

She practically exploded and choked on her soda-

Her face instantly brightened, and she stammered, looking at you, “I- Shit, you bitch! Ah! Shit! I mean!- You’re not a bitch, I just!- UGH!”

It took almost a year for her to finally say anything about how she felt about you

You two had grown close, and she honestly could not stand if you guys didn’t hang out for at least 2 times a week

“(Y/N)!!!! When are you coming over??” “Pearl, I told you, I have an important appointment today.-“ “Okay, and?” Like 😭

Girl doesn’t give two shits if you got plans she’ll have plans WITH YOU 😭‼️‼️

When you hang out, she loves to watch shows with you and stretch her legs out into your lap

You didn’t answer, just kept staring, and her smile quickly faded into surprise and shock

“Wait… shit, you’re serious?” Her face was starting to turn red and she sat up now, her legs now criss-crossed on the couch

You only nodded, your own face beginning to flush as you crossed your arms over your chest

The two of you sat in silence, Pearl’s face redder than red

She kept opening and closing her mouth like she wanted to say something, but no words came out

Not until she finally slumped and looked down, mumbling, “Think… ‘s self… ‘splanatory….” “Hm?”

She finally huffed and groaned, looking at you with an angry look, “I think it’s self explanatory that I like you, too!!”

Bingo.

After an awkward confession, the two of you talked through it and decided to start dating

Very quickly it became apparent of how affectionate Pearl really was, but only when it was just you two!

Similar to the sleeping hc’s, she really loves to peer out of your shirt or hoodie or sleep against your neck

The first time she did it, it scared the fuck out of you

She was laying on your chest just cuddling with you when all of the sudden, she lifted up your shirt, and in a swift motion just popped her head through

You jolted so fast when she did that, yelping and cursing

“Cod- Fuck, Pearl! What are you doing?!” “Shaddup!”

When she popped her head out, she smirked just before she snuggled her head into your neck

The moment quickly became a really cute and memorable one, especially when she fell asleep against you and did that little cat stretch before falling back asleep LIKE????

RAGHHHHH SHE’S SO CUTE

She’s like a little koala—she loves to cling to you

If you try to leave mid cuddle sesh, she’ll whine and complain

You really had to go to the bathroom, and Pearl was busy clinging to you rambling on about her latest mayo review (she would never stop talking about her mayo collection) and she wouldn’t stop

Finally, you sat up, “Pearlie, I really need to pee-.”

She looked at you like you incinerated her mayo pool

Then came the pouting 😭

“I’ll be gone like 3 seconds, Pearl! I really need to go!” “Don’t talk to me ever again.”

As you rushed off to the bathroom you screamed back, “We both know how long that’ll last!”

Yeah,,,, it didn’t last long at all. She lasted about 10 minutes before she looked at you and began to tremble her lip

You sighed, “Go ahead, Pearlie.” Instantly, she snuggled up against you and began rambling again

Point is,,, she’s a snuggle bug

Autumn with Pearl Headcanons

Contains: Platonic Fluff

I have a few more of these coming too, it's a nightmare with the wattpad app crashing but I'm doing my best, again formatting and I will be able to masterlist all these headcanons soon, enjoy!

Being Pearl's neighbour means you get to spend a lot of time together as the seasons change

Neither of you decorate seasonally, but it's interesting to see the natural change between your bases

Opposing colour schemes become almost one as autumn comes, making the split between each of your landscapes compliment each other

The two of you embraced that, further blurring the line between your bases as each autumn has passed

You'll often create a big pile of leaves on the divide, your dogs and Pearl's dogs will play in them together Every now and then you and Pearl will join in

The two of you both love to cook and bake, so trades happen often

You worked together to build a transportation system for food, although it ended up being for much more than that

You'll trade all sorts, from shiny rocks to plants that have somehow managed to form a new species from both your gardens mixed. It happens more than either of you would like to admit

When the sky is clear you and Pearl like to take the dogs out and up to the highest point of her base You'll both wrap up and go watch the sun set

Sometimes you'll even meet up with your other neighbours and have a get together with all the dogs, but usually it's just you and Pearl

The first year the two of you lived beside each other you had made her a friendship bracelet, which is now a tradition you both uphold each fall

You make yours with all manner of things you find around the house and garden and Pearl does the same It's not much, but it is nice to do

With the change in weather often the plants outside struggle

It's nice to have each other to rely on if either of you need help clearing anything out

Not to mention the knowledge you both have of the plants in your areas means between the two of you most plants are able to survive not just the fall, but the winter too

It's also just nice to have the company, for you, Pearl and both of your dogs

There you were a low-life Tanzanite, fighting in a war you never wanted to be a part of but you got caught in the middle of it. You saw the traitorous rose quartz that shattered her diamond with the diamond’s pearl… and it was fighting with rose quartz!? Maybe she was being brainwashed into fighting. No.. she was smiling. You rushed to the pearl, fighting whoever and whatever got in your way The only thing that was going through your head was why. Why was a pearl here? Why were YOU here? And why was this war happening?! Yet all you could do was try to get to that pearl. While you were in your head you got tackled by that very pearl. Her spear pointed to your gem. “What is a Tanzanite doing down on earth..” Her spear got closer and closer to your gem. “Did a blue diamond send you!? Hm?!” Your throat started to close up and no words were coming out of your mouth, it was true your diamond told you to come down to earth to see how the war was going and it was going and it was going exactly how war was supposed to go BAD! You started to think if your diamond sent you on a mission where she knew you would fail. You got pulled back into the real world then the pearl spoke again. “Speak or you will be poofed like her other soldiers.” “I would rather be shattered than speak to you-” Then your whole world turned back. And then you woke up in a house..? With a black-haired boy looking at you with stars in his eyes. your leg was under a bright light that had started to burn it. ”What is this?! Some sort of weapon?!” you picked it up and threw it at the wall, it shattered as soon as it hit the wall. As soon as you did everyone looked at you. “Are you sure this is the right gem?” the ‘garnet’ started to speak. “Yes yes this is the tanzanite that I bubbled and-” You soon remembered that voice, pink diamond’s pearl. “What year is it, hm? How many years has it been since you bubbled me and trapped me on this plant?!” you started to yell at the group. you stood up and drew your weapon. Sadly for you, they did the same. -He had issues going on so he’d start to argue when you say something that provoked it or reminded him about it.

-He’s scary when he’s mad. Like really scary. And the pink makes it worse. Your cried before and had to stay away from him for a while…he hated that..but understood you needed space.

S-Spending the night over

-He was so nervous the first night he spent the night with you. He didn’t want anything to go wrong.

-For the first few times he’d clean somewhere near you, but not on your bed. No matter how many times you tell him he can sleep on your bed, he denies it, thinking that he’s not ready to do that.

-But after a while, you two do sleep in each others beds. He often comes to your place since the gems can be loud, especially amethyst. But you two do go to his house too.

Thinking about pearl being very loyal and in love with reader no matter how many years have passed. Unlike rose, the relationship is healthy. She falls inlove even more just by remembering every memory of you, seeing any little thing that remind her of you, looking at every belonging you own, etc. The bond you have with her is something that can never be replaced nor get over. A bond that she can never experience again with someone else. A bond that she is forever grateful that she has met you even when you are gone forever. She probably uses her holograms to reminisce the past. She rarely sleep but when she does, she dreams of you. You are always on her mind. She will forever remember EVERY SINGLE DETAIL about you. The warmth of your hands, the blissful feeling of your presence, your soft kisses, your smile, likes, dislikes, appearance, the sound of your voice and laughter, the way you blushed, the way you pour your love into when you give affections, the way you wrapped your arms around her, etc. She remembers everything. At some point in her life, She does encounter some people and/or gems that reminded her of you. Unlike mystery girl that looked like rose, she doesn't automatically caught feelings nor do anything to replace you. Instead she thought of how you would be good friends with them if you were alive. She missed you dearly. You are her one and only. You helped her be her own gem. Doing things for herself rather than being co-dependent. opening: You’re training with Pearl, but an accident happens and you end up getting poofed.

AN// Reader can be any gem! They/them pronouns used!^^ Ugh this one is a little short, but I didn’t even assume this idea would make for a long one :”D

“Did I win?”

Pearl had taken you to the ancient sky arena for some training. You both knew how to fight and had a lot of experience, and since today seemed to be calm enough, you thought it would be fun to spend time with her. You remember doing this type of training with her in the past more often, but as time passed on the tradition of coming down to the arena for fights died down. You hadn’t been sure if Pearl ever missed doing this, but after building up the courage to ask her, you were surprised to know that she had missed it too.

You stood on the other side of the floating arena, watching Pearl’s sword. Neither of you were using your personal weapons, but instead normal swords. Before this, you had both warmed up by fighting off a couple of holo pearls. After finishing them off, you prepared to take her on next. You knew she had more experience with swords than you, since close combat wasn’t your forte. That though, didn’t mean you weren’t going to try. Someone might have called you insane for that, but this wasn’t serious. You were doing this for fun, and both of you knew when to stop.

A gust of wind blew past the two of you, causing your hair to move with the wind. Pearl took that as a sign to start, as she took a couple long steps towards you and clashed her sword against yours. The power of the first hit caused you to move backwards a little, a heavy wave of wind blowing up some loose sand from the ground. You smirked at the sight before lifting your sword and hitting both sides of Pearl’s once as you moved forward, making her back away. You didn’t want to get too close to the edge. She landed a couple other hits which you blocked. You soon saw an opening, and took that as a chance to try and kick her off of her feet. She seemed to saw that coming, and flipped over elegantly, landing on her feet. She had a serious look on her face, but you knew she was enjoying this. She was able to move so swiftly that it was hard to land any actual hits. While you were caught in your thoughts, she placed her sword against yours, but this time it was tilted upwards. You gaped your mouth a little as she pushed the sword out of your hands.Your eyes widened as an echo of the sword hitting the ground behind you rang for a moment, before your eyes returned to Pearl. “Oh, this isn’t over yet.” You laughed slightly, gritting your teeth a little as you thought how you’d get your sword back. Pearl’s eyes were keen, stuck on you to follow any movements. You took a step back, seeing how she followed along. You knew she wouldn’t attack if you were unarmed, but the second that sword was in your hand again, she was ready. Letting out a quiet huff, you turned your back to Pearl and ran up to the sword. You knew she’d be right behind you when you turned around, so instead when you had confirmed a good grip on the sword’s handle, you ducked down. A gust of wind went over your head when Pearl’s sword missed. You slid further away and stood up again, getting a better grip of the handle this time. She wouldn’t be able to pull that trick again.

Your mind was focused on something else again, when you saw Pearl take a high jump and clash her sword back against yours with force. You slid back a little, still staying up. She lifted her sword again, but there was a gap of time between that and her next hit. You took the opportunity and almost swiftly hit her, but you realised just before the hit that it would actually hurt her if you finished the fight like this. This caused you to pause the movement and drop your sword. A dumb move. Pearl didn’t have the time to take back her attack, and the sword landed on you. You felt air leave your lungs as your eyes widened, the sword going through you. “OH- Y/n! I didn’t mean to-” Pearl’s cracked voice said as she tried her best to keep you on your feet. You gave her a quick look, but before you could say a word, you poofed away. Some wind blew against Pearl’s face, and as the clouds around your gem disappeared she saw it laying on her hands. Her mouth hung open a little as she began to blame herself. What was she going to tell the others?

Pearl had taken care of poofed gems multiple times in the past, but seeing your gem in the house every time she was there hurt her, a reminder of the events from before. She hadn’t meant to do that, she would never! But even with the regret, she knew there was no use in talking to your gem now, she would have to wait until you were ready to reform. It had already been a little over a week, but Pearl knew how long this could take and she was going to give you all the time you needed.

As gems didn’t need to sleep like humans, she would spend some nights watching over your gem. Steven would sometimes try to stay up as well and hide from Pearl, since she would tell him to go back to bed otherwise. As much as she tried to go on with her days normally, the other gems could see that she was upset, but all of them knew that there was nothing to be done. Waiting for you to reform was up to you.

The sun had gone down once again, and like for the past few days Pearl had stayed in the house with your gem even after everyone else had left and the house had quieted down. She sat silently on the couch, mind fogged with mixed thoughts. She could hear Steven’s calm breathing which calmed her mind a little, knowing that he was asleep and couldn't see her like this. But then suddenly, a bright light broke the darkness of the house when your gem rose up. A gasp left Pearl’s mouth, as she watched the white mass begin to take a form. It didn’t take long before you were back to your normal self. You fell on the floor, a lot less elegantly than you would have hoped for. “Ah-” You gasped before looking up, one hand placed on your head. Pearl sprung up to hug you. “I’m so sorry, Y/n.” She said, letting go of you a little to see better. You began to laugh silently, realising what time it must have been. “Pearl, it’s okay. I’m fine.” You then said, looking around. “How long has it been?” Your voice then asked, eyes settling back on Pearl. “Almost two weeks.” She quickly replied. You noticed how her eyes were going over your form, as if she was making sure you were truly okay. You knew if you’d let her she’d be all over you, making sure you were actually in one piece. “You like the new look?” You broke the silence, getting Pearl’s eyes to come back to yours as a blush creeped on her face. “So…” You mumbled, gaze wandering again. “Did I win?” A grin formed on our face when you looked back at Pearl. She smacked you shoulder gently before replying. “Yes. Yes, you did.”
