Please enjoy this little snipped I recorded when they showed us the first official teaser to atwow in theaters…. 😭
This is giving me such a nostalgic feeling it’s actually crazy, there are tears in my eyes omg i remember sending this to my dad and my sister because I was sooo excited 🥹
honestly the worst part about my job is how I'm walking past people with my dream jobs all the time!!! Actors, singers, musicians, artists... like, wow, it's actually possible to have those jobs, but I'm not one of those people? cool. cool cool cool
TFW the boy you're in love with tells you that you should stop being in a relationship, and you're dying inside, but •~emotional repression~• (and every other repression), and he seems so chill about it and you don't want to make this difficult on him because he's always so chill about everything, so you just grin and say, 'Cheerio, Old Chap!' and go die inside somewhere else because you don't want them to have to deal with your useless arse.
(And then, later, the boy tells you he actually was also dying inside, and you smiling and being a blasé bitch hurt him deeply and maybe ruined any relationship you could possibly have had in the future.)
(AKA: I am relating hard and uncomfortably to Dr. Henry Jekyll from The Glass Scientists and his predilection for communication mishaps and the ensuing broken heart that always follows them.)
Tumblr updated their queue limit to 1k posts and I swear I'm gonna hit that any day now. And then I'll have to wait a month before I get back to adding posts to it. I haven't gotten my drafts below 2k posts yet.
I'm reading about how Israel, in the immediate aftermath of the 1948 Nakba, deliberately replaced olive trees and other indigenous flora with European plants. This ecological disaster, which is now proudly hailed under the banner of 'making the desert bloom,' was done to 'de-Arabize' the landscape, and to cover up - often with fast-growing European pine trees -the ruins of Palestinian villages that were destroyed by Zionists forces.
And I just need everyone to read this passage from Pappé, because the symbolism of what happened to those European pine trees in the desert speaks for itself:
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, by Ilan Pappé (2006, p. 227-228.)
academic bias is so funny because you’ll be reading about the same historical event and one person is like “Despite the troubles that befell his homeland and near constant criticism of the court King Blorbo remained strong in the face of adversity” and the other one is like “after letting his people carry the brunt of his cringefail decisions Blorbo the Shitface refused to listen to any reason and continued to be a warmongering piece of shit. Also he was ugly.”
