I strongly prefer it when the Scions *don't* have Ancient counterparts.

I think it means more if they're part of the new souls born to the star either after Zodiark's first summoning or after the Sundering. Which is a whole thing!

Importantly, those were the souls that the Convocation were going to sacrifice to Zodiark to bring back the Ancients they lost.

To me, I think it's vastly important that G'raha, Y'shtola, Urianger, Thancred, the twins, that all of them are people Emet-Selch would throw away without a second thought. That to him, you're the only one worth half a damn... And broken as you are, only half a damn. And before he lets himself accept that you really are what's left of Azem, you're just someone else he's convinced isn't a person.

But I think these are the very souls Azem left the Convocation to save, even if Azem still didn't want to break the world. And these are the souls that Venat and the Twelve did break the world to save.

To me that's so much more important than any reincarnation romance (much as I adore that kind of story too). That to Azem and to you, these people matter anyway.

hey look i actually post a wip on wednesday but the tag is wip whenever so that's what we're rolling with! see, i have a whole gw2 blog that i'm working on a piece for in honor of lesbian visibility week and this is a little spoiler-free little date for two of my ocs, alysannyra and renira! (nyra is bi but the fic is from ren pov and she is very much a lesbian so it fits lmao)

She’s a good kisser, it turns out.  “Billiard rooms,” Nyra explains in between kisses. It’s a rather silly high society excuse to stare at people’s asses and steal a kiss.  Renira slides her hands down and squeezes Nyra’s ass. She doesn’t need any overpriced rooms. “Were there any bets?” she asks, curiously. A part of her laughs, almost; is she as cocky as someone like Nyra can afford to be, to place a bet to be the best she’s ever kissed? She doesn’t voice it.  There are many things she hasn’t been able to afford herself. There’s something so very aristocratic about the way Nyra carries herself, the way she grabs attention and stamps her seal all over it. Even now, red in the face, with lips darkened by kissing and lipstick, she knows she looks good, she knows the world should be watching her.  Arrogance, Renira thinks. Arrogance that’s hardly ever faced a pushback. Arrogance that makes her want to fuck her against that very wall, in this very street. What a luxurious thing.

Erenville scoffs, “I did not tell you to bring a sword. You had a sword when you invited yourself.”

The sword sits sheathed in a holster on Avi’li’s back. No shield. Erenville remembers a scratched up, damaged shield, notable—even amidst the turmoil of the great inventory effort—for the deep, vicious claw marks in the wood and metal plating.

Maybe it broke.

“I need to start training again,” Avi’li gives as an explanation, shrugging. “It’s been too long since I last wielded it.” He steps the few paces forward towards the edge of the lake, next to Erenville. “The rest has been nice, needed even. But I can’t rest forever.”

Erenville hums an acknowledgement as he stands, “Wielding a fishing rod will suit our needs better for now.” He sets one of the poles in Avi’li’s waiting outstretched hand. “But maybe a few swings of your sword will intimidate them into coming closer.”

“Ha ha,” Avi’li says humorlessly, smiling.
