Sabine tried to get Ezra caught up on everything he missed in the last ten years, but he was distracted by the fact that the girl he’s had a crush on since he was 14 years old has suddenly appeared in his hermit crab trailer park at the end of the universe.

Sabine: “Ewoks? Seriously? I told you about two Death Stars, the destruction of Alderaan, the death of the Emperor, and the whole messed up story of Anakin Skywalker’s family, and you want to hear more about Ewoks?”

Ezra: “And Jabba the Hutt!”

Sabine (rolling her eyes into another galaxy): “I told you. He’s dead. The princess strangled him with her slave chain. That’s why half the galaxy calls her Leia the Huttslayer now.”

Ezra: “Whoa! That sounds kinda…hot! (grins, looks thoughtfully) Do you think she’d mind if I called her that?”

Sabine: (jealously) “It’s General Leia to you, Commander Bridger (scoffs). Anyway she’s married to Han Solo.”

Ezra (who hasn’t entirely been paying attention, possibly because he was distracted by imagining Sabine wearing the metal bikini while she told the story): “Who’s Han Solo?”

We don’t talk about Leia killing Jabba enough. Her grandmother and father were born into slavery. Her blood was that of the desert sand and the shackles of bondage. Leia was never more a Skywalker than the day she strangled her slave master with the very chains he used to bind her. The daughter of Anakin Skywalker was the one who killed Tatooine’s most notorious slaver, and I find that really beautiful.

Something I think that doesn't commute over to modern Star Wars is the way the original was obviously made by nerds for fun. The cast wasn't towards people who are conventional attractive or fit a certain type. The characters didn't have to win. Now it feels like every other set of Disney works.

There was just so much more imagination before.

in fics where luke gets plopped into the prequels i want every jedi within ten metres of him to think hes the weirdest jedi theyve ever seen. he has negative lightsaber form. he doesnt know what a kata is. he handstands when he meditates. his solution to sith is to try and have a chat. hes a political radical who keeps suggesting revolution. you ask him what the jedi code is and he says "kindness and compassion and helping those in need :) ". you ask how he used the force like that and he says some shit about how you are a luminous being limited only by your mind. the councils authority is just a suggestion. he is somehow the new favourite of both qui gon and yoda
