Actually, I've thought long and hard about Richmond's derby rivalries. Semi-canon sources say they have a bit of a West London rivalry with Brentford BUT to me it doesn't make much sense because Richmond are supposed to have been mid-table in the Prem for years, top-flight but mediocre. Brentford only made it to the Prem in 2021.

Actually, I've decided that Richmond kind of take the place of QPR for most of their history, except they didn't get relegated when QPR did. This is because 1) it'd be too many London-based clubs otherwise but, more importantly, 2) when Man City won their first title in 2012 with Agueeeeeero!!! that was against Richmond. It's funny, To Me.

Also you know Roy still fucking hates Newcastle from his Sunderland academy days. If his pundit career had lasted longer he'd be having top tier shithousery with Alan Shearer every week about it.

YAYYYY okay I'm gonna like. dump a whole bunch of stuff that bestie @blackmarketjoy and I have been thinking about and working on and stick it under the cut BUT a little amuse-bouche: I'm currently workshopping a goodomens fan-minisode fic Thing that's set in the 1910s where Crowley is disguised as a live-in maid tempting Some Rich Guy into greed and financial ruin with her demonic wiles and sexy ankles, and Aziraphale is disguised as a war nurse who's been quartered in the same Fancy Rich House with some wounded soldiers under her care because you could just do that sort of thing back then. It's a liiiittle Nanny Ashtoreth/Brother Francis-esque but not quite as pre-planned. Okay that's enough to get you goin here's all the extra nonsense (as Aziraphale and Crowley are both presenting as women in this Thing, she/her pronouns will be used for both throughout):

This whole concept actually originated from a DREAM I had that included Crowley in a vintage nurse's uniform because if I am known for anything it is my ability to be happy, big, and sexually normal. My friend Mifs then was like Oh what if Aziraphale was in a vintage maid uniform lol and that festered in my mind for a while. We ended up switching the roles around because it makes more sense with the timeline (since Az would have her bookshop by this time period and typically isn't wont to leave it for too long unless there's an extenuating circumstance) and is generally more in-character for Aziraphale to have the Helping People role.

As I've said before on this blog, I think it's Easy and therefore boring to reduce Crowley's skill of "temptation" to something purely sexual, especially when she's in girlmode. This isn't to say she's completely nonsexual in this fic thing, it's more fun for me if she isn't, but she's not specifically aiming to, idk, "inspire lust" or whatever. She's merely, idk, convincing this Rich Guy to make extremely bad investments while sitting in his lap or something, AND to reveal how much of an asshole this guy is. I don't know what the hell people invested in in the 1910s but I'm sure she'd pick something absolutely disastrous. Maybe she knew about the upcoming Great Depression

Meanwhile I think Aziraphale is here by complete accident, mostly bc I think it's funny when the universe pushes them together. Also because I'm imagining some sort of "Ugh, you again. What are YOU doing here?" "ME? I'm saving LIVES. I should be asking what YOU'RE doing here, foul serpent" interaction and I love it when women argue because they want to fuck each other

This whole thing is set during the winter because that gives Lots and lots and lots of opportunities for huddling for warmth, hand-holding, dramatic fireplace lighting, etc.

^ Related to huddling for warmth, I think Aziraphale (a little bit too excitedly) offers to room up with Crowley in idk, The Help's Quarters or whatever and they end up sharing a bedroom. Hayden idk if I've told u this but in the book Crowley sleeps despite not needing to (I don't Think this is ever mentioned in the show but like if a book thing isn't directly contrasted by a show thing it's canon to me) while Aziraphale doesn't, so I'm kinda just imagining Az spends all night reading while Crowley sleeps. But since it's cold as fuck Az eventually starts to like. read in bed under the covers while Crowley spoons her "for warmth." Also I know they don't Need light to see but I keep imagining Az summoning some kind of Holy Light to read by (maybe it's just one of the little human preferences they develop over time) and Crowley bitching about how bright it is and kinda pushing her face into Az's neck or shoulder "to cover her eyes." Yuri

Going back to some of the Rich Asshole Guy stuff. I think he's like, creepy and pervy and does a lot of Leering at both Az and Crowley, but is especially bad with Crowley since like "she's leading him on" or whatever. Both the Job minisode and the Edinburgh minisode can pretty easily be described as including some kind of "lesson" (almost always for Aziraphale) and I think it'd be fun to do a version of that where unfairly GOOD things (material wealth) are given to a BAD person, rather than the standard opposite. Ultimately the story would end with Rich Asshole Guy making some kind of unwanted advance and Crowley, having successfully driven him to ruin via his own greed, takes off her glasses and shows her eyes (I imagine he's asked her repeatedly to show her eyes, yknow in a You'd Be Prettier If You Smiled sort of way) and hisses and etc., Putting The Fear Of God in him before she and Az leave. Az could, idk, smite the guy or something too he'd deserve it

I think Az is like veeeery repressed sexually, somehow even moreso in girlmode than she is in guymode, and since Crowley is being Vaguely Sexy it's just the perfect yuri storm. Hayden u already saw the snippet I wrote about this but I'll recount it here anyway: Az pulls some like weird pseudo-victim blamey stuff on Crowley like "I don't know why you're surprised that he tries to look up your skirt, I don't know what you expected, pulling it up that high" bc she's working thru some stuff okay and that's the only way she can process the fact that she notices how much leg Crowley is showing at any given time. She knows better obviously and will admit as much it's just that divinity is a performance, yknow, and she's still trying to pretend to be dedicated to that.

IIIII keep imagining something with like Az smuggling human food and Crowley smuggling human alcohol and they have a little yuri dinner in like the courtyard or something, and Crowley gets to tease Aziraphale for stealing. And then Mifs added onto it this is All their ideas but it's really good so I'm paraphrasing it here: 1) Aziraphale gets sick of eating shitty watery period-accurate Soup For The Poor and decides to finally do something about it 2) since Crowley is a maid she'd have more access to the kitchen and leftover food and etc and since Aziraphale is a nurse she'd have more access to idk wherever rich people put alcohol because it's the 1910s and medicine is fake. So it's like them stealing bits and pieces away for each other yknow... themes

I think Some Rich Guy (who needs a name I'm very open to name ideas for all these side characters) should have kids so Crowley can kinda subtly turn them against him because idk, "honor your father and mother" is a Commandment and all that and therefore not doing so is A Sin even if your dad's a dick (Aziraphale can have a little Moment about this, I love putting her through Moments). I'm imagining this less in like a proactive Nanny Ashtoreth way (Hayden I know u haven't seen the show but Crowley's purpose as Nanny Ashtoreth is to instill as much evil into the child they believe is the antichrist as possible) and more in a "purposefully turning a blind eye and letting kids 'misbehave'" sort of way.

"Why doesn't Aziraphale just miracle her soldiers' wounds better" because she wants to spend as much time with Crowley as possible and she's enjoying the maid/nurse roleplay. Obviously. (When Crowley asks her about this she lies through her teeth, of course)

Another idea from Mifs I'm just gonna stick in here: Az has some kind of crisis because one of her soldiers is getting worse and Crowley has to calm her down about it. Shoulder grabbing, face grabbing, eye contact, hand-holding, etc. Very very psychosexual for them both. Also Crowley ends up doing something to help the dying guy, filling her Niceys quota for the minisode (but she's NOT nice! She's mean and she means it!)

OH working title for this courtesy of Mifs is "Of Lace and Lacerations" which I LOVE. Currently the Google doc I write all my ideas on is called "you like kissing girls don't you"

Idk how explicitly romantic (and possibly even sexual) this Thing is going to be, like the romantic tension is obviously obviously there but idk if there'll be kissing. I need to think on how "canon-compliant" I want this all to be (as romantic tension is very canon-compliant but explicit kissing and etc. is not so much). I've been thinking about a bonus feature at the end that's just nasty woman sex so stay tuned for that

And uhhh I think that's it! This is Way longer than I expected lmao but hopefully u enjoy it Hayden ily <3<3 and hopefully some other people enjoy this too! I'm very excited about how this has been shaping up so far and I really hope to write a real actual long-ish thing. This has been a really good exercise for me in story development, I think having the minisode structure to work within helps my ideas fall into place so much more easily (since I usually have a ton of problems with structure). Do you know why Krist is such a hated artist? the reason why no one explains why they hate krist is bc he was the first thai actor to get cancelled, and he's the only one who stayed cancelled lol so I think everyone assumes that everyone else knows krist is homophobic. basically many years ago, he posted this picture in his story after a fan asked if he's gay:

now, your question is about whether krist is truly problematic like foei & ohm or said a dumb thing in the past that he now regrets like pond & phuwin, and the thing is that no one knows. bc of it being a repeated behavior, we KNOW krist was problematic at some point, but all of these things happened years ago at this point. has krist changed? maybe, but since he's never addressed this we'll probably never know. which is why I'll be advocating for my favorite thing in these situations: NUANCE! it's okay to acknowledge people's ability to grow & better themselves, bc it happens to all of us. but so far, have we seen significant change from him to conclude that it's all in the past? I don't think so either.

I believe that his behavior stems from a lot of toxic masculinity & insecurity in himself, which made him try to push the gay label as far from him as he could. which is NOT an excuse at all & what he did is still deffo homophobic, but thinking about the fact that kristsingto were the first thai ship to ever blow up that big puts things in perspective. I don't think they were equipped for the toxic fans tbh.

now though, will I ever be a krist fan, even if I end up potentially loving be my favorite? no. but do I hate krist? no. or do I let his presence in shows ruin them? no. he's just someone I'm very indifferent to & imo that's the best thing to do about him. hope that answered you well enough!

Tell me, am I the only one who isn't a really big fan of maria? I've disliked her in the games but tv version made me kind of bored of her even more. First I think is the urge she has to despise joel so badly but treats tommy like a toddler like, mam I know gabriel luna is adorable but your husband was a grown ass man when he chose to kill innocent people, it's cringe. She married that type of guy but can't be in the same room with one without bitch-sizing him up all the time? She can understand man who lost his niece and did bad things because of brotherhood but can't also understand a man who lost his own daughter and lost faith in humanity bc of it?

And something that really bothered me is, they really had to make her drag ellie into her own mess? Maria from the games didn't go along with Joel at first but at least she was mature enough to don't bring a child into the situation. I understand that show-Maria had to make sure a little girl was okay in the care of a strange grown man but that little chat got out of hand really quick and I don't blame ellie for giving her attitude. I just hope they don't try to make maria be all like "oh I told you, ellie" or scold Joel on that tipsy bison scene in season two cause the whole season will be already angst enough without it.

Quite honestly? Maria has never been an interesting character for me. I don't dislike her; it's just that she doesn't rub me the right way as a character. And there's definitely something about the show Maria that's a little more off about her. It's about the attitude, I guess. She also looks like the type who doesn't forgive too easily.

But considering that in TLOU 2, the game Maria already respects Joel (it was never really specified; I just think so because I think he became a respected member of the community later on), I think that show Maria will have to do that too. But maybe it's just the actress and the way she's portraying her? Because the actress in the game seems a bit better in the role.

I know there are Maria stans who would fucking bash our heads in for these opinions, lol. But you are right. Maria has always been a "meh" character for me. Just to fill the void between Joel and Tommy and to show us what Tommy has been up to when Joel wasn't with him.

Forget what they say about him. How about all the speculation and shit talking they do about his girlfriend? The constant comments about how fake she is, how mean she is, how she doesn’t smile enough. It’s super weird. We literally know nothing about her, and they see a photo of her not smiling and suddenly that makes her a bitch? Or if she does smile they say she’s being fake. They just make assumptions about her and at the end of the day the public isn’t dating her, Charles is. These same people want to gossip about Oscar’s girlfriend because she keeps private. You can’t win with the mean gossip girls out there. As long as you date a driver, there are masses of obsessive haters who will hate who they date and find ways to be awful to these women we literally know nothing about.

at first I was wondering how would revali and link even be in the same group? and ik in this post you mentioned that revali probably wouldn't even be in a group, he'd be a soloist. but then I was like:

what if they were in a survival show together and they debuted in the final lineup 😵

I'm gonna be so fr I have never watched a survival show, not even i-land or boys planet, so idk how any of it works, but imo revali seems like he would be in first place throughout the show even though international fans don't like him, they're like how is he winning?? but revali is just so good (and the show is probably a little rigged since the judges have favorites, but it's not bc revali bribed them- he wants to win because he deserves it, not because of some bribery)

meanwhile, link is the fan favorite; he's charismatic and good looking, he regularly goes viral on tik tok, he does a freestyle like that one guy from bp, I think his name was woonggi? and the fans absolutely lose their mind, and link shoots up to first place. ofc revali immediately sees link as a threat, and so their (one-sided) rivalry begins (link is just vibing but revali is absolutely livid that he's second. out of 100. like that's stil reallyl good revali u can chill!!)

throughout the rest of the show the two are fighting for first place, every other voting period they've switched spots, and it's clear that they'll both make the final cut, but the real question is who's going to place first?

anyways they debut with hmm like 5 other ppl so it's 7 of them in the group (idk who though, don't ask me 😊🙏). and at first it's SO AWKWARD like revali is bitching about link every chance he gets and the managers are like.. can u pls stop. we keep having to edit the clips of you so you can maintain a somewhat respectable reputation 😭

the editors can do whatever they want, but at the dorms, revali and link are totally fighting each other, like istg whoever their leader is has to do some serious damage control every time one of them says something out of pocket.. revali starts talking abt how link shouldn't be on the team and the leader is like woahh hey let's not do that

that doesn't stop revali though :/

ykw does make him stop? after a huge fight where revali definitely says some things he didn't think through (I'm not gonna say bc it hurts my heart to think abt), link storms out of the dorms, and the leader (istg I'm gonna make it teba atp) is like dude u fucked up.. go apologize to him

and revali bristles and is like why should I?? but deep down he feels super uncomfortable and guilty for this whole thing, he's like have I gotten so lost in this rivalry that this is just who I am? he doesn't voice all that but he does leave to go find link, who is predictably in their practice studio. but when he gets there, he can hear crying through the door. and when revali listens closer, he hears, "I don't know, aryll, sometimes I just feel like I don't belong here. I don't know if-" a pause, a muffled sob. "I don't know if I want to do this anymore." silence, then: "i just want to do something right for once. it's never good enough."

revali backs away from the door; he's heard enough. he goes back to the dorm and straight to his room without talking to the other members. he shouldn't have been eavesdropping. and besides, if link wants to quit the group, that's not his problem, right? at least revali will finally get the spotlight.

but the thought of link being gone, it leaves a cold feeling in his gut.

umm this got dark fast and I don't like the direction I went in.. maybe their rivalry can be more lighthearted 😊 but yes anyways revali gets this wake up call and is like ohh maybe I shouldn't be an ass! and after seeing link in a new light he gains a new respect for him. so the next day after letting link calm down and after revali gathers his thoughts, he goes to talk to link and they're able to work out their differences! just kidding 😇 it's not that easy. but their dynamic does shift, and it becomes less toxic and the bickering and friendly challenging becomes more reciprocal rather than being one-sided bullying

atp it's been a little over a year since their debut, and their fans have CLEARLy noticed the positive difference in their dynamic. so ofc the crazy delulus start making dating rumors abt them! 😦 because there's no way they could have started being so nice to each other for no reason, something definitely must have happened! the rest of the fandom is clowning the shippers like ur actually so dumb for shipping them

as time passes the two are able to look out for each other but still have a sort of friendly rivalry! my brain is running out of energy to come up with things but they're literally yoonmin from bts, like look at this compilation of them bickering and tell me that's not them🧍🏻‍♀️

fans see these interactions and go crazyyy like maybe those delulu shippers weren't so delulu after all 😦 clearly they have a way different bond than with the other members, and they're constantly acting like an old married couple with the constant back and forth over literally the tiniest things. and ppl fr start making compilation videos of all their interactions and SWEAR that there's something going on, and it's literally just.. revali and link arguing whether , or link getting revali a bottle of water on stage, or revali and link on a team together during a variety show

bickering aside, though, they would privately support each other in their own ways 🥺🥺 imagining revali staying up late at the studio to practice until his voice is raw, the other members of the group have all gone to bed in the dorms but link notices that revali isn't back yet (omg bc they were roommates??👀) and so he gets up, prepares a mug of oolong tea, and brings it to the studio for revali. he makes him take a break to rest his voice, and after much convincing, link brings revali back to the dorms and makes him go to sleep

in turn, revali — who knows how vulnerable link really is to harsh criticism — takes extra care to compliment link when he thinks he does well, and to give guidance in a more constructive way. if they have a particularly good performance, he'll tell link that, and if he notices link having trouble with a certain move or part of the song, he'll talk to him privately abt it and help link improve!

honestly this whole au is giving me serious 13 iconic yoonmin moments vibes, like imagine revali stumbling across one of these revali x link compilation videos and actually looking at the way they interact with each other and going like oh. oh.

The lack of professionalism in the Hotd cast, crew and producing team is astounding. If any of my BrBa, BCS followers see this (I have a total of 2-3 of you so I doubt it but just in case): do you actually remember ANY of the writers or actors of these shows EVER talking shit about their characters or other characters in interviews and specifically accusing the fans for liking a specific character ? I don't. This never happened. Never.

The most I've since is Vince Gilligan saying that he was super into the fact that he could "play" with the audience who overwhelmingly supporter Walter White, just to test their limits, see how far can people can go in justifying someone's actions just because they like them. That's it. Walter White was the villain of the show btw, not that anyone cares. He was the villain and people were, are and will always be obsessed with him, there are even people defending him against Jesse (which I don't understand personally) but not once a writer or an actor said "lol stupid bitches Walter is the bad guy here he's sooooo problematic and you're a bunch of naive tumblrinas for supporting him". Which is essentially what HotD writers said btw.

As a writer, you can never tell the audience how they're supposed to feel about a character. Never, ever, ever. Especially as a writer who is adapting a story that existed long before you even heard the name Fire and blood. Especially if you know you have made considerable changes from the source material. You don't get to tell people how to feel about your work. That's like the peak of American arrogance.

Yes if people are seriously misinterpreting your original work (not the case) I guess you could say something, you could maybe question some fandom tendencies, but never in that condescending, holier-than-thou tone.

This applies to actors too. In the source material, there was no domestic violence, there was no "I'm in love with my brother but I can't have him so I'll fuck his daughter". None of that. People don't like it, accept it and shut up about it. You can't convince people that your interpretation is better than the source material. It's not. Stop it. Enough.

I even heard Olivia Cooke saying that the strong criticism she has received is twitter fanfiction and all she cares about is the opinion of the writers and directors. You cannot talk like that as an actor, you cannot be SO dismissive to your audience. Your show is the fanfiction. I disagree with the hate she got just for playing Alicent btw, that's horrible. But people are rightfully pissed with this horrendous take on Alicent (not the acting, but the take), you need to acknowledge that. If you are angry for the hate you got, cool, address the hate itself, like Lena Headey did when she was getting hate for Cersei. But when you label the criticism as twitter fanfiction, you're not talking about hate anymore. You're talking about interpretation. You're saying that your interpretation is canon and ours is fanfiction. You're dismissive and disrespectful, like the writers.

favorite thing about them: i love how he’s such a level-headed guy like 99% of the time but he got into a verbal argument with black pete in e2. like he was right, but the """mature""" thing in that situation isn’t bickering so loudly you get trapped by the indigenous residents of the island you’re stuck on. the fact that the show doesn’t make him “be the bigger person” 24/7 honestly makes his maturity and emotional intelligence that much stronger because like, yknow what? fuck being the bigger person sometimes. he deserves to bitch at this annoying tryhard who wont stop lying about working for blackbeard.

least favorite thing about them: my least favorite thing about olu is that there’s not enough of him. olu should be in every scene

number two: olu and frenchie bc they worked together SO well to pull off their scam and i want to see them just hanging out. it kinda feels like olu has more common sense whereas frenchie has more life experience and i think the two of them together can get up to some CRAZY shit but also they'd be able to do those casual activities together that olu and stede would not be able to agree on. frenchie should play songs and olu should sing to them and also i am picturing olu helping frenchie get over his fear of cats and my heart is so full of love rn

unpopular opinion: idk if this is unpopular but i think olu should get to top jim sometimes. i always see jim topping and while i have ZERO complaints abt that i think maybe sometimes they should switch? pretty sure that for a lot of fans it's like a dysphoria thing they're projecting onto jim which is super valid. but i personally would like to see art of olu topping.

well it maybe sound stupid but do you think kanthony fandom is dying

Look, I've been actively participating in different fandoms for the past idk 13, 14 years. It's not unusual that things die down a bit between seasons/after the movie/show ends, the longer it takes to get new content if you do. (You should have seen the Sherlock stuff, it took us three years to get a season with 3 eps lol) There's always the more diehard fans who stick around for years and years and years, but some just go find another fandom to interact with. I still follow people who post Sherlock fics even after all these years, and some others have completely changed fandoms. That's absolutely normal.

I think, with season 3 coming and we getting some Kathony new material, things might pick up again.

But I have to say this: Fandom is supposed to be a fun experience. It's a hobby, something you do that is not an obligation, you interact in your free time (or in times when you're not really free but let's not go there lol) for your pleasure and enjoyment.

It stops being fun the moment people are mean and rude simply bc they don't agree with your take on smth. This is not only on the Kathony/Bridgerton fandom. I have received death threats on Anon for almost a year about Star Wars and I almost abandoned the fandom as a whole three different times (the only reason I didn't was that the hyperfiction was stronger than my annoyance at these people).

So, yeah. I can see why getting hate messages on your blog or rude comments on your fic might drive people away from the whole thing. You're there trying to enjoy your faves and someone is bitching about you and being super rude bc they don't like your ship or they don't agree with how you portray them (Honestly guys, these are fictional characters. Just close the fic, block the person and move on with your lives! It's not that hard, people do it all the time!)

Particularly during that SW Reylo fandom hate time, I came to this interesting realisation that I usually share with my friends when we talk about it. I will not allow a sad, sorry person who has nothing better to do than bully people without even having the guts to show their face and who thrives in seeing someone else miserable to drive me away from something that I love and that makes me happy. I am here bc I love the characters, I love the story and I love writing. I'm not going to stop bc someone is miserable enough that they need to make me miserable too.

Don't engage with bullies. Delete their asks and comments, let them shout to the wind. Use the block button with gusto if you see smth you don't particularly care for. Use the AO3 tag filter, it's your best friend. Don't hate-read. Tag your stuff properly and don't open smth with a tag you don't care for. Don't rage-bait. Don't leave mean comments on fics you didn't care for. Ship and let ship.

That's the only way to create a nice fun space and make sure the fandom stays alive with loads of people interacting.

We're here to have fun. Let's enjoy ourselves.

I actually do not think TVD is a good show lmfao. The story line is absolute trash and they did so MANY characters so DIRTY when they just... could have not done that. I love the show however for the complex characters and the relationships they build (the good ones anyway not the forced gross last resort ones)

I think ppl who make female OC's just to ship is a step in the backwards direction, but that's just a personal opinion. I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with shipping, but to create a half assed character with a hot fc just to write shippy/smut stuff just kind of perpetuates a stereotype in my opinion. That doesn't mean I dont support female OC's i know a few VERY GOOD fleshed out ones that I just adore- but I'm a substance girl so. It's yalls blogs i simply wont follow if I dont like it, yall keep doing whatever you want to- but I was asked for unpopular opinions so here you go.

I do think there is a difference between 'everyone has their own interpretation' and just a straight terrible portrayal. I mean you can say whatever you want to but sometimes, portrayals are just... not good. Like at that point just write an OC. Which again, in the long run? Isn't my problem bc i know how to just simply not engage, and how to bitch in private- super easy not to send hate about it shocking- but no there is a difference between canon divergent and terrible portrayal. Hate to break it to ya, but it's true. There's more to writing a character than loving them. Especially complex characters. It's not enough to have seen the show X amount of times, or been a fan since the dawn of the dinosaurs.

Also please please do give me more info on other characters you feel comfortable with, cuz we weren't sure what we were gonna play so we are doing 3 one-shots (Im DMing all 3, pain) before setting on one, so it might be a bit extra suspicious if only 1 homestuck npc shows up and I don't know enough about Nepeta to confidently make her show up 3 times and make it seem like she's my fav and I know all about her

I WROTE THIS IN MY NOTES APP THIS IS SUPER LONG ACTUALLY AND IM SO SORRY TRY TO SKIM IT <- was asked to talk about homestuck and thought was be able to keep it brief. Wasn’t.

Karkat - I was obsessed with him then and I’m obsessed with him now he’s a loud whining piece of shit with a pretty bad attitude. Mainly a character based on him would yell as their normal speaking volume, swear a LOT and also creatively, but is also hiding an insecurity. The thing about him is he has a mutant blood color that would get him killed on his planet- so he can’t let anyone find out, he can’t accidentally bleed or cry (tears are their blood color) in front of anyone. So maybe your character is also hiding something super important? He gets along best with people who don’t really take his bitching to heart since his bitching is his way of showing real concern- he does actually care about his friends no matter how many times he calls them idiots. Also is really interested in romance as a concept and likes romcoms. He uses dual sickles as a weapon- I figure you may want this information since they’re dnd characters.

Dave - Cool kid, sunglasses he never takes off, he raps and makes beats on his turntables. He’s obsessed with irony and sorta doesn’t know how to enjoy anything without being ironic about it? Enjoys frustrating people WITH his irony. I struggle with characterizing him bc I’ve consumed a lot of fanon, but maybe that will make your presentation of him more authentic XD? A safe bet is to make your character kinda deadpan in tone but still be able to crack jokes and act pretty silly. If given the opportunity to be the hero he will not take it, he rejects the idea that he should be anyone important. He fights with swords and has a tendency to break them- but still uses them anyway. He gets the power to time travel later on, and can stop a person in time too, dunno how you’d implement that tho.

Vriska - … very very tough for me to summarize her… but I can say that a character based off her has killed one friend, paralyzed one friend, and blinded one friend, but then feel little to no remorse about any of it because they believe they’re the main character and nothing bad will happen to them since it’s all part of their story (though, she blinded that one person because that person blew up her left arm and left eye BECAUSE vriska killed that one friend). Ahem. Got carried away. Your character just did some pretty bad shit that makes them seem untrustworthy. She’s very lucky tho- it’s part of her powers- so your character should be too. She has a spider motif but it only really manifests in her adoration for spiders and her way of typing, so you may not have to worry about that. She’s popularly called the “huge 8itch” if that helps. She fights by rolling die? And depending on how they land they’ll do more or less damage. I don’t really know the specifics? But her luck powers enable her to roll exactly what she wants every time

Rose - rose is also tough for me… she’s a writer and can use a lot of big words and constructs sorta needlessly complicated sentences but she’s got a lot of wit and loves being sarcastic. She’s.. gothy? Has an interest in the occult and occult myths and she’s also pretty fascinated by wizards but I think tries to be lowkey about it? She’s a very smart and clever person too- so much so that in fanon people tend to forget she’s also kinda silly. Sorry that’s all I can say ^^; she fights using a pair of knitting needles- eventually they can also conduct magic and do damage that way. The power she gets later on is- sorta like knowing the future? She can only know the GOOD outcome but she knows specifics so that she can tell her team how they can end up getting the good outcome- she’s the strategist of the group

John - the leader of the kids! suuuper cheery and has the ability to pretty much make friends with anyone. He ends up being naive tho and may not realize when someone is trying to take control of him. He’s very interested in pranks and overall being a silly goofster ✨ if it ever comes up under no circumstances will he eat baked confections. No cakes especially. He loooves Nicolas cage and ghostbusters and some other older movies I can’t remember- other characters just tend to say he likes bad movies but he adamantly believes they’re very good. So maybe your character can also defend something that may objectively be kinda bad? His iconic weapon class is hammers 💪💪 but he also gets wind powers later- he can summon tornados or even fade into air to travel in the wind and appear somewhere else

It may be helpful to point out for nepeta- she has a best friend who’s very concerned about her well-being, equius. He even so much as controls what she can and can’t do (kinda only about certain things that are super dangerous). I don’t really like him as a character, but your npc might be hesitant to do something before asking their best friend for permission. He’s a stickler and very no-nonsense and will likely deny anything too dangerous? But also he’s incredibly terrifyingly physically strong- so your pcs wouldn’t win a fair fight with him. He also sucks up to any royalty. If any pc is royalty he’ll do anything they say. A trademark of his is that he gets very sweaty very easily and also very much likes horses. Also he likes milk. Idk. Nepeta’s weapons are these retractable claw glove things- and equius WOULD use a bow and arrow but breaks every single bow he picks up because he can’t control his strength. Instead, he fights with his fists 👍

(they’re all kinda friends but I point out their most important relationships, ones your pcs may ask about, they’re also ordered from lowest to highest class) kept these summaries vague so you can insert your npcs in their place?

Aradia - she’s dead don’t worry about her, if asked she was into roleplay, archaeology, and adventuring. friends with Terezi, dated sollux, killed by vriska if you need to know

Tavros - he’s the one who’s paralyzed from the waist down, he has no confidence whatsoever, likes the troll equivalent of Pokémon, has a bull motif, has lots of conflicting feelings about vriska (is constantly manipulated by her), and is friends with Gamzee. Attacks with a jousting spear

Sollux - likes coding and computers, has a red and blue and duality motif, speaks with a lisp, also likes bees a lot. Will not eat honey if asked tho, friends with karkat and hates Eridan. Dates Aradia and feferi. Attacks with his very strong telepathic powers, could kill him if he’s over exerted

Karkat - friends with sollux, kanaya, Jade, has a crush on Terezi but is normal about being friends with her, and is sorta chill with Gamzee and Eridan. Kanaya - she’s a very reliable friend, but fears she’s too meddlesome. interested in fashion and is also a vampire 👍 very good friends friends with karkat and dates rose (do not separate) Hates Gamzee and Eridan if asked. Attacks with a chainsaw that can also transform into lipstick

Terezi - LAWFUL whatever your character is theyre lawful. Loves dragons and she’s blind but she can smell/taste colors to the point where she can kinda see? She has something very complicated going on with vriska (she’s the one vriska blinded, but still sorta loves her as a friend). Attacks with a blade concealed in her walking stick

Vriska - she lost her left arm and eye but she gets a robot arm. Has something complicated with Tavros (kinda crushes on him kinda hates him) and Terezi, turned down a confession from Eridan (but he asks out everyone so it’s not that big a deal) but they were friends in the past

Equius - ehhhh I don’t like him idk he has a crush on Aradia and it’s weird, big thing about him is he makes robots idk. Brutally protective of nepeta- they’re best friends

Gamzee - stoner who’s (and I mean this literally) religiously devoted to clowns- wears face paint all the time and has clown horns everywhere for him to honk. Friends with tavros and karkat but everyone (but tavros) sorta treats him like a useless stoner when he’s just trying to be friendly (ahem. Until some crazy story stuff goes down but i won’t spoil it in case you read) should not be without his substance for too long or people will die not exaggerating. Attacks with clubs.

Eridan - classist royalty, fish guy pirate, interested in war and strategy, makes fish puns I think. Has a crush on Feferi but they’re supposed to be best friends. Used to be friends with vriska but confessed to her. Hates Sollux bc when Feferi stopped being best friends with Eridan, she went on to date Sollux. He’s rizzless. Completely rizzless. Attacks with a cool harpoon gun. Doesn’t believe in magic if asked.

Feferi - THE empress like she’s as royal as you can get, but she’s in waiting for when the current empress passes. she’s also a fish but she’s not classist- she cares a lot for people and animals and would abolish the ableist classist regime of the planet they live on if she had the power, until then she tends to aquatic animals n stuff (not afraid to kill people if necessary tho, she knows how to survive). Friends with Eridan but only to keep him from killing people, stops being friends him when there are no more people TO kill around. Dates Sollux later. Also makes fish puns. Attacks with a two pronged trident.

I won’t go into the alpha kids or the other set of 12 trolls bc I’m very rough with them and also they’re not as important?

Dave - raised by his older brother who taught him sword fighting but was also super neglectful as a gaurdian and traumatized him with puppets and constant sword training and pranks. All the kids are very good friends with each other so nothing of note there but he goes on to date karkat- if asked tho he canonically was kinda struggling with finding out he was gay, though if your PCs don’t want to deal with that then do what fanon does and ignore that (I also ignore it). He’s also technically siblings with rose but doesn’t share the mom TECHNICALLY. If asked he doesn’t have a mom unless you want me to go into the alpha kids OTL

John - has just a dad who cares about him very much. And if asked regards his late grandmother very fondly. He doesn’t go on to date anyone but he does kinda hate Terezi? Troll romance is complicated I shouldn’t explain it. He’s technically siblings..? With Jade? But they don’t share the grandparents or the dad.

Rose - dates kanaya I’m serious do not separate them. She has a mom who’s an alcoholic but has a pretty humorous oneupmanship going on between them. She’s technically siblings with Dave but doesn’t share the brother

Jade - ok. So. She was raised by an omnipotent dog. Her grandpa died when she was very young and her dog (bec) took care of her. She’s very cheery - even cheerier and sweeter than John but she will not take any shit she’s not naive like him. She’s interested in science and robots and botany she’s very good at growing plants but she lived all alone on an island for most of her life. She always had visions of the future growing up but was never creeped out by them, always staying optimistic. Her main weapon is a rifle- not sure how that translates in dnd? She later gets the power to manipulate space itself- make things massive or very tiny, she gets telepathy and can move objects around at near the speed of light, and can teleport. She also becomes part dog later. I’d say she’s lawful good? Probably easy bet. She’s friends with karkat, kinda friends with Feferi, in one universe she dated an alternate version of Dave- not the Dave your PCs would meet, so if asked I dont think she exactly had a crush on him- I believe they both said their feelings are complicated. Technically siblings with John but like I said don’t share the parents

Sex scenes don't bother me as much as kiss scenes. When the characters are making out in a way that indicates it will lead to sex, I'd scream at the screen "Just take off your pants and start grinding under the covers already!" because I cannot watch them mash their mouths together for another second.

That being said, I'm not a huge fan of sex scenes because firstly—I can't take the movements seriously, and if there's sound effects, there's also a high chance of me laughing. Secondly, the squishiness of the human body is another thing I can't take seriously. When I first watched the Only Friends trailer, and I saw that scene where Sand thumbs Ray's tattoo, I thought it was a butt tattoo because of the way the skin bounced in slow-motion, but no, it's actually a hip tattoo; the human skin is just that springy on every part of the body. While everyone was going crazy because of the tattoo-touch, I'm laughing because the bounce was so pronounced.

Basically, kiss scenes ick me out while sex scenes are comedy.

also interesting point you bring up about the human body being so squishy. i never really thought about it but yeah. human bodies are just so weird?????? actually, only the other week i was talking with another friend (who's likely also ace-spec) about just how humans (and tbh even animals) will just have things dangling from them?? whether it be genitalia or boobs or whatever. like, those body parts are just... hanging there?? and technically even your arms but at least you can control those. meanwhile my boobs will just bounce depening on what movements i make and i can't control them and they're just hanging from my chest while i go about my life. like, why?? i want dog boobs where you mostly have just the nipples and they only really get big when i have an actual child to feed (i know human breasts also swell when they fill with milk during a pregnancy, but why do i have to have two balls of meat hanging from my chest even when i'm not pregnant?? who thought of this design??). coming back to your point of the human body being so squishy and actually yeah, i'm realizing now that i can't take it seriously when people talk about how hot boobs are precicely because boobs are so squishy and also so wobbly and just. how is this not funny to people? dkdfjdjfk

and lmao i remember everyone going crazy over the tattoo!!!!! i realized right away that it's on the hip but maybe that was bc i remembered the placement of it from the eclipse. which is also why that scene didn't make me laugh, i was actually too busy trying to read what it said bc in the eclipse we never got to see that tattoo up close enough in order to be able to read it. so while everyone was freaking out i was just sitting in my corner like "omg so the tattoo says 'beautiful'???" i'd been wondering about it for a year ever since the eclipse, so i was just excited to finally know what it says bc i'm a nosy ass bitch lmao

anyway, i love hearing about your experiences. it's so fascinating how varied the ace experience can be and how specific things affect everyone differently. and i think it's also cool to hear what things other ace people pick up/focus on while the allosexuals are busy drooling over whatever is happening on screen dkjkdkjg

the kissing... idk, i can't tell you why it doesn't actually bother me that much or why i might even enjoy it. although i do have to say, the act of kissing does look extremely weird. sometimes (usually during longer kiss/make-out scenes) i'll be sitting there and suddenly it'll hit me that "actually kissing looks SO strange, whose idea was it for kissing to be a thing??"
