“It is a pleasant pastime to think of what might be a good kitchen for yourself. Just now it is very smart, too. Women’s magazines flash with brilliant colour-photos of dream-like rooms where glass walls and metal sinks compete with electric dishwashers and mixers for cake for the fascinated reader’s favour.
Washable chintz curtains wave in the controlled breeze. Ivy grows around the telephone table, where an easy-chair, a radio, and an alarmingly narrow cookbook shelf promise relaxation to the American hausfrau.
For myself, I should like a kitchen with some of these magic things, but none of the conscious design, the June-bride’s-first-little-home look about it.”

Romance in the kitchen
Who will come into my kitchen and be hungry for me?
I knew that I loved you when I started catching myself daydreaming about making grocery lists with you, rinsing romaine in your kitchen sink, knowing where your silverware drawer was without having to double check.
My wife never finished a cup of coffee or a cup of tea if I didn't make it for her. I asked about it once and her response was, "it just tastes better when you make it." Always makes me feel better seeing an empty cup.
Feeding someone is an act of love; a way of bestowing life
I want to make supper with you. I want to go shopping with you. I want to know that nothing can come between us except each other.
And they were right all along when they said food is better when it is shared.
But perhaps it's in the kitchen that we can best love the world.
This I wish for you; to never hunger of love.

Challenge: morning after fic where gai makes kakashi pancakes and apologizes for not having syrup, but kakashi says they will make their own syrup and rubs gai off until he cums on the pancakes
Ok ok ok OK FIRST OFF waffles > pancakes no I will not be taking any further input on that and SECONDLY I am exhausted and my brain is soupy and I’ve got a good little low grade anxiety buzz going so if this sucks I blame you anon (no I don’t you are salacious and lovely thanks for reaching out 😜🥰)
__
Kakashi can’t remember the last time someone’s made him breakfast. He’s still sleepy and mildly cranky when he wakes - nothing out of the norm there for the morning - but when he saunters into the kitchen, he sees Gai cooking and smells cinnamon and honey and hears the soft sizzle of the pan and he is tempted to smile, eventually giving in to that temptation when Gai turns to him and beams, greets him like the sun greets the morning itself. Kakashi waits at the table as he is instructed and enjoys the way Gai's shoulder muscles flex and move beneath his glistening skin as he flips their pancakes with a whimsical precision.
A small stack alongside some fresh fruits is placed before him, and Kakashi looks down with a soft, affectionate sigh.
"You didn't have to do this, you know," he says, but Gai waves him off as he rummages through his cabinets.
"I'm happy to!" he says. "After last night a big breakfast is in order!" Kakashi blushes at that - he is pretty hungry after all that. The thought of it makes his stomach flip but it quickly turns into a growl. He lifts his fork and knife but a distraught sound from Gai gives him pause.
"What is it?" he asks.
"I don't have any syrup!" Gai says it like it's the worst possible thing that could be happening right now, and Kakashi just adores him so much.
"It's fine," he reassures. "Come join me, we don't need it."
"You have to have syrup for pancakes!" Gai exclaims with a pout. "It's just not right..."
"Hmm...we could use honey?" Honey is a bit too sweet for him usually, he prefers it in tea, but he won't mind. His stomach rumbles again.
"Not the same," Gai says with an air of offense. "Maple syrup is paramount to the pancake eating experience."
"Eating the pancakes is paramount to the pancake eating experience," Kakashi says. "I'm hungry, come over here and let's eat."
Gai harrumphs softly and obliges, and Kakashi watches as he plops into his chair. He does look a little disappointed, truthfully, and he can't help but smile fondly at him. Gai likes everything to be just so when he's around his apartment - even though the man isn't the tidiest he makes every effort to show Kakashi that he's thought about his presence here. Pancakes without syrup is hardly an offense, but all the same, he can see that Gai's sparkle is the tiniest bit diminished at not having such a "paramount" component to this special act of love.
Kakashi then has a rather sudden and unexpected image of Gai's body drizzled in syrup as he licked it from between his pectorals and his smile goes from affectionate to devilish.
"Wait," he says just before Gai takes his first bite. "I think we can manage something."
Gai cocks one of his impressive brows and Kakashi returns this with a smirk. Not a moment later, and he's standing behind Gai's chair, his lips are on his neck, and his hands are roaming the dips and curves of his torso. He nips and sucks a bruise onto his skin as his hands trail downwards, fingers wiggling into his sweats before he wraps them around Gai's cock and begins to gently palm him, his other hand moving up to grope at one of his pecs.
"Ah, rival, what are you--?"
"I told you," Kakashi purrs in his ear. "I'm hungry."
"You..."
Kakashi nibbles his earlobe and delivers a soft pinch to his nipple and Gai gasps, gripping the edge of the table. Kakashi smiles and trails his tongue along the shell of his ear as he tugs Gai's erection from his pants, stroking and squeezing just the way he knows he likes it.
"Kakashi..." Gai breathes, tipping his head back. Kakashi takes the moment to admire Gai's physique (he takes any moment he can get to do this) - his muscular torso, the expanse of his jugular exposed to him like an offering, the swell of his chest, the formidable erection in his hand that makes his mouth water. He strokes a bit faster as he flicks his nipple again and takes a handful of the muscle in his palm, groaning softly against his throat as he peppers it with kisses and love bites.
"God I love your tits," Kakashi mumbles playfully. Gai huffs and nudges him with an elbow.
"Stop calling them that," he says with a smile. "You are filthy my rival."
"You don't know the half of it," Kakashi makes his point when he lifts his hand off briefly to lick a wet stripe along his palm and fingers before stroking once more, the slickness adding a delectable slide that makes Gai moan and Kakashi chuckle darkly.
A few more minutes and Gai is panting raggedly now, shivering beneath Kakashi's touches and murmured words of filth in his ear. It won't be long now, and Kakashi eyes the plate in front of Gai, in proximity to his swelling erection. He angles a bit, just a bit, and grazes his teeth along his shoulder as he strokes quickly now, purposefully, swiping the bead of precum from Gai's tip to aid the friction. Gai groans and grits his teeth, then gasps as he twists and squeezes gently at his head before sliding down again
"Go on," Kakashi coaxes in his ear, and he sees the goosebumps rise across his skin. He smiles. "Go on love, give it to me."
"Hah-ah--....Kakashi--I-I--I'm--!!"
Kakashi moves to sink his teeth into Gai's shoulder and it's the final touch. Gai growls into an orgasm, throwing his head back and eyes closed tightly. Kakashi strokes him through it, watching hungrily as he releases hot ropes of cum onto the table and plate in front of them. Kakashi feels a blush warm the tips of his ears and he smirks despite himself - he's got some pretty decent aim, even without the Sharingan.
He slides his now very sticky hand off of Gai's length with a slight flourish that makes Gai shiver, and when the man finally comes to, he huffs a breathless laugh.
"You are filthy," he says. Kakashi wipes his hand and cocks his head as he looks down - the pancakes in front of Gai are absolutely not going to be very edible (with any sort of dignity, anyway) but he'll admit to them looking pretty tasty anyway.
"Syrup problem solved," he quips with a peck to the top of Gai's head. "You were right. Paramount indeed."
