What in the documentary made you more sure that louis isn’t the kid’s dad?!
okay i've got three big major reasons why
- he talks extensively about all the losses and how much of domino effect it was. first the band going on break, and then his mum's diagnosis and eventually losing her and shortly after losing fizz as well. he also talks about the jho performance and how if he could do that, he could do anything. but, he's talking about all his losses and essentially saying that that was his rock bottom and how he was just getting hit by blow after blow and he sort of implies that nothing good happened. however, it was also supposed to be the time when he "became a father" and if he's so devoted and loves his kid so much (as they show later on), shouldn't this kid he loves so much be one of the very few positives that came out of the dark time in his life?
- there's a scene where he talks about how jay had him very young and how she was still a kid when she had him and that's one of the reasons why his bond with his mum was so emotional and strong and he puts so much emphasis on jay being young. the most natural segue from that conversation would be "and now i realise why that bond was as strong as it was because i too had a kid when i fairly young" but nope doesn't bring it up at all.
- throughout the documentary he talks about 1d and his mum and stuff, like everything he talks about it is something that stays throughout the doc. however, the whole bit with freddie, was just that - a bit. there's literally no new footage, as in yeah the ones that charlie filmed obviously but when they're talking about freddie, the photos that they display are pretty much photos we've already seen or were taken from the sisters' ig and it's like. okay yeah i get that you just want to talk about your kid for two minutes but why would you use things from your sisters' stories? won't you have your own, non public pictures? so yeah

You guys rlly don't realise how much knowledge is still not committed to the internet. I find books all the time with stuff that is impossible to find through a search engine- most people do not put their magnum opus research online for free and the more niche a skill is the less likely you are to have people who will leak those books online. (Nevermind all the books written prior to the internet that have knowledge that is not considered "relevant" enough to digitise).
Whenever people say that we r growing up with all the world's knowledge at our fingertips...it's not necessarily true. Is the amount of knowledge online potentially infinite? Yes. Is it all knowledge? No. You will be surprised at the niche things you can discover at a local archive or library.
#rambles#if you are a person who is into delicate skills#like lacemaking or printing or sewing#you will know fair well just how non expansive the knowledge online is in comparison to written guides from like the 50s#there was a time where at least one person in the household had to know a constructive skill#but in the modern day there is just less ans less demands for comprehensive guides#library propaganda#im stuck doing an essay rn but bc i have covid i cant go to the library and its totally fucked me#i want to source a lot of the stuff i read irl but i just cant go and get it and theres no online ver

so this European clothing retailer decided to advertise their jean cuts on youtube and it's unintentionally the funniest shit I've seen today. why? well.
now important context here: in German, die (pronounced 'dee') is just a feminine article, it literally means "the".
but if an ad gets placed in the middle of an English video and doesn't use a single explicitly German word for most of the ad, even a native speaker is gonna think "they want me to die how?" it keeps getting funnier.

"Don't just throw ripped jeans away, you can repair them using these 10 cute Visible Mending techniques!!" unfortunately my friend the first point of failure for every single pair of jeans i have owned in my life has been the Crotch and Ass. Knees: fine, cuffs: fine; but 3 years in, and all that stands between the world and my astronaut-patterned taint is 0.5µm of denim worn so thin that every squat threatens to tear it to shreds like wet toilet paper. If the Tiktok craft community could figure out a way to resurrect jeans afflicted in such a way that doesn't involve adding a whole ass buttpatch like some sort of inverse assless chaps situation then that'd be great
#and yes i have indeed experimented with trying to add invisible patches on the INSIDE of the jean but unfortunately#trying to sew anything to the non-euclidean hellscape that is the crotch area of a pair of pants#inevitably ends up 1. What’s the umbro sweater
oh this has brought me so much joy, buckle up it's story time.
right so the year is 2020, the pandemic is at its peak and we haven't really seen louis in a really long time. and of course, goes without saying that we hadn't seen harry or louis interact in a long time either. and then one fine day in july, eleanor blesses us with this photo of louis and clifford
and if i remember correctly, it was in black and white. anyways this is the colourised version and then it was identified that louis is wearing a unique, hard to find, vintage 90s Umbro shirt. which makes sense because we've seen louis wear umbro multiple times. and so the fandom rejoiced seeing a glimpse of louis.
now, cut to september and even though the harry drought wasn't as bad, we just knew he was in LA at the time the world went into lockdown. and so in september, a fan runs into harry and gets a picture with him and uploads it
and instantly, the fandom realised that harry was wearing a unique, hard to find, vintage 90s umbro shirt. when he has never previously worn umbro, nor has he worn one since. and because it was actually not a common shirt or even something that was easily available, it was obvious that harry was indeed wearing louis' umbro shirt.
it was a really good time in the fandom and i remember people made edits and comic strips and fanart and wrote fics and it was even more of a fun time because in the year of 2020 when the world had stopped, we sort of got to see them being their regular, petty, lovely self.

so when straight people ask me why I say I’m “queer” or “gay” instead of sharing my actual identity as a panromantic demisexual non-binary sapphic queer I just tell them “ok look, when you’re talking to someone who isn’t local and they ask you where you’re from and you either say the name of the largest city nearby or ‘town name, suburb of large nearby city’ so they can get some geographical context of where you’re located right, bc they’re probably not going to know the name of the little town you actually live in.”
but if you’re talking to a local you can say the name of your actual town bc they have a greater chance of knowing where/what that is.
ok well when I’m talking to a straight person I start with queer bc chances are they aren’t as familiar with the context of all the little towns in that big queer city and need gps (gay positioning system) to find me.
if I’m talking to another queer person and I say I live in a suburb of gay city in a town called panromantic on the demisexual side of the tracks which is in the county of queer and I live off the intersection of non-binary and sapphic, they’d probably be able to find me with little to no problems, make sense?

I think I was about 19? When I read or heard it from some random Youtuber lol. It was when I was sooooo insecure in my looks, my weight, everything. Then I just started to accept my body for what it was and in that way love it. I do think it's perfect. I'm fucking gorgeous. Not just from looks but I slept through the night without dying, ISN'T THAT GORGEOUS?
