Can we talk about Noelle???
I mean, she is a maid that had been training so hard to become a Knight, she is incredibly strong and had a lot of benefits for the player (and most players love her for it and because she is incredibly beautiful) but the Knights of Favonius still doesn't accept her as a knight
So imagine that the creator loves her, even praise her for her strength and power, she will be totally flustered and insisting that there is no need for so much praises but she is grateful for the praises. The Knights of Favonius will be between surprised by you reconizing her strength and embarrassed for not doing it them
Now about me simping over her, imagine the creator getting mad for the Knights not apreciating her true strength so they decide to give her the honor of being their highness' personal knight
BOOM!!

STARS IN THE ABYSS genshin!sagau
Tumblr media
notes // hi ^^ thank you for the request, i hope you like it <3 also, i know the pain of only one or two characters carrying while the rest is just decoration 😭 cough razor cough cough
navigation // stars in the abyss
Ayaka
Ayaka would hate and fear the abyss with all her heart and soul. Yet she doesn't show it. Even now, fighting in the abyss with people she doesn't know, she will not lose her face and with that of the Kamisato Clan.
But once she gets to know the other people with her stuck in the abyss, fighting monsters and other kinds of beings she shouldn't be fighting, she shows a bit more emotions. All of them fear the abyss, any normal human being does, but they are in it together.
She likes the people of Mondstadt and gets to know them outside of fighting in the abyss.
Barbara
Barbara doesn't want to be in the abyss at all. The first time she was there she prayed to Lord Barbatos. But her lord didn't help when Diluc was injured, so she steeled her nerves and healed him in the in the middle of deadly combat.
Once she got out, she brushed up her healing abilities, not wanting anyone on her new team hurt. She also looked a bit into combat abilities, asked Noelle and even Diluc for help and pointers.
She too hates and fears the abyss, but her fear of the possibility that one of her teammates won't come out let's her forget that.
Diluc
Diluc... Diluc would very much like to scream at Venti. It has to be his fault he's stuck in the abyss regularly, right?
Like most, Diluc is very wary of the abyss, but he doesn't outright fear it. Sure, he's careful and watching his steps, yet his worries for the younger girls are much bigger.
He sees it as his responsibility to bring all of them back home, he's the oldest after all. He will never forgive himself if he ever loses anyone in the abyss, not on his watch.
Noelle
Noelle tries to hide her fear and does it well, determined to help her teammates and not to waver against the many waves of enemies coming at them.
Sometimes she feels useless, watching how Ayaka, the high born girl from Inazuma and Barbara defeat their enemies left and right, but she reminds herself of her uses too. Her shield lasts long and strong, more than once she has saved the lifes of her teammates.
Leaving the abyss is always met with relief- relief of surviving the literal hell, relief of coming back home, relief that her friends still live. It's her duty as a maid, to assist and help, but also her duty as a knight, to protect.
Outside of the abyss, the three vision holders of Mondstadt get closer and met up regularly. They send letters to Ayaka, since she's nations away. But they're making plans to meet, maybe one day, the'll see each other outside of the abyss- all four of them.

ok but like
imagine a sagau au where the reader isn't recognized by the acolytes
but they aren't being hunted down by them either
and in this au looking like the creator isn't a sin it just warrants a "damn must be truly blessed by the creator to be blessed with their face"
and the reader just kinda wants to see how long it takes for everyone to realize
also venti is the first to know and the reader literally begs him not to tell anyone
and they both just kinda
vibe as gods in disguise
Say My Name
In where you begin your journey in a fairly dull way, but that doesn't make it any less exciting.
Part two
Characters: Barbara, Noelle, Venti
Notes: Once again, I have made Venti a prominent character in a fic. I have grown far too attatched to him :( AND I WANTED TO MAKE THIS MORE ABOUT NOELLE BUT I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH ROOM BECAUSE VENTI'S FAT ASS TOOK UP ALL OF IT. And I didn't want to shove something in at the end, I thought it was a good stopping point so I didn't stretch the fic on longer than it needed to go. Anyways this was fun to write either way :)
warnings: fluff, cult behaviors, comical
Considering how extravagant and lively Teyvat is, your arrival was fairly dull.
You were freaking out of course, your heart beating out of your chest and breathing erratic. What were you supposed to do when you wake up in your favorite game? What was the right course of action?
Frankly, you thought you were dead or about to die. Teyvat is crawling with high level monsters. Maybe this was all a big fever dream?
You sighed, clutching your head, so many thoughts whirling around and yet none of them stayed long enough for you to get a good grasp of the situation or the best course of action.
But one thought remained consistent as your eyes drifted over to the path laid out before you. Mondstadt.
The moment you lay your eyes on the bridge leading to the Mondstadt gates you can't help yourself, running past Timmie's birds, shouting out a quick sorry to him, and sprinting as fast as you could to the gates. You slowed as you neared them and Lawrence - the gate guard - stopped you in your tracks.
"Greetings strange but respectable traveler!" He saluted, his eyes wide staring at you and you assumed it's because of the odd way you dressed, "May I ask what business you have in Mondstadt?"
"Oh! Just visiting." You grinned, feeling a tad bit dizzy at hearing his voice right in front of you and not just through your headphones. Not to mention the fact that his hair looked so real and nice.
He hummed and nodded, "Alright then, just don't cause any trouble." He waved you off.
That was easy... you mused. Though you didn't dwell on it and marveled at the wonderous city adorned with the high-noon sun and pretty flowers.
You could hear the humming of bards and birds, the sound of Flora selling her flowers, and of course Donna simping over Diluc.
It was all so familiar, from the people to the music and the tiles on the floor, it all felt like the beginning of your journey. Almost like home, you couldn't help but hum along to the merry music.
You passed by Katheryne and she waved at you knowingly but didn't say anything. You decided not to question her about it - Katheryne knew a lot of things anyways so you decided this was pretty in-character for her - and you waved back with a grin.
You wandered meaninglessly through the calming streets, still humming the tune. You came upon the fountain in the plaza and paused. Usually, you'd climb up the wall to get past but now you had to actually walk.
You chuckled, you weren't sure why but this was such a nice feeling and you sprinted to the left until you came upon a set of stairs. You climbed up them and made your way to Venti's large statue.
When you made it, you craned your neck up to take it all in, an awed smile on your face.
"Ah, are you a newcomer?" A nearby nun asked you, snapping you out of your dazed state.
"Oh! Uh- yeah I am!" You grinned sheepishly.
The nun hummed, smiling warmly, "You must be truly blessed to look so similar to our creator. You can go into the cathedral if you want to see our offerings to them." She nodded towards said building, "Hope you enjoy your stay in Mondstadt!" She waved, now even allowing you to get a word out before moving along.
You stared after her for a minute before whispering to yourself, "What the fuck-"
You turned back around and stared cautiously at the cathedral. What did she mean by creator? Stuff like this has never been mentioned in the lore before...
You'd been in the cathedral maybe a hundred times and had never seen anything that could be attributed to some... creator or whatever she meant by that.
So, naturally, you had to go and investigate.
The moment you entered those cathedral doors (with no loading screen separating the two anymore), your eyes immediately caught onto the shrine built on top of the rotating door. Two pairs of stairs leading up to it.
You gaped at the shrine, grand and well-kept, but what caught even more of your attention was the sheer amount of offerings left out at the base below the shrine. There was so much food and random shiny objects, some of which looked more than what you were worth.
Your jaw hang open at the sight, and you noticed you started to get some odd stares. You fixed your face and donned a more neutral expression, looking on at the shrine curiously.
"Ah, first time in Mondstadt's cathedral?" said a soft and familiar voice.
You whipped your head around to face Barbara, her sparkling eyes fixed onto you.
You composed yourself - both at the scene in front of you and the fact you just met Barbara face-to-face - "Yeah, it is."
"You look so much like our beloved creator!" She exclaimed, "It must be such an honor to be blessed with their lovely face!"
"U-uhm..." You stuttered, sending her an awkward smile, "I suppose so."
Her eyes shifted and you felt a jolt of unease in your chest, sinking into your heart, "Sorry, I'm just not used to Mondstadt's customs. We practice things quite differently where I'm from."
"Oh! Sorry then," Barbara frowned, "I didn't mean any disrespect, I just wanted to make sure you weren't disrespecting our creator in any ways. I suppose in the end it didn't do any good."
You hummed non-committedly and gazed back upon the shrine. There was a statue of the supposed creator upon there and unconsciously you took steps towards it. As you gazed up at it, it was as though you were looking into a mirror.
The statue was an exact replica of you, in every way shape and form it was you.
"It truly is remarkable how alike you two are," Barbara smiled up at the statue, pure devotion in her eyes, "It was an honor to look upon you and see an image that so wonderously reflects our creator's." She smiled at you.
You nodded and she left with a wave. A few moments later you left the church.
*~
The problems in this perfect world arose when your stomach started to growl and you realized...
You had no mora.
"Goddamnit I'm having a Zhongli moment," You cursed the gods (specifically Venti and Zhongli) for not giving you mora when you arrived to Teyvat.
Although you didn't have to worry about that for long, oddly enough. When you were eyeing Good Hunters, a kind little lady approached you.
"E-excuse me," Her cute voice cracked and your eyes met with Noelle's, "Are you hungry? I could um-" Her eyes diverted away from yours but always seemed to come back to stare into your eyes, "I could make you something if you so wish."
You gasped, your face lighting up in a smile that reddened Noelle's cheeks, "Really? Oh! I'd love to try some of your Tea Break Pancakes- oh! Ah, nevermind. You don't have to." You waved her offer off, "I don't even have any mora on me."
"That's fine." She grinned, "Consider it... a gift to our creator. A celebration of how much you look like them."
"Ah," You couldn't help the surprised smile that tugged up at the corners of your lips, "That's- I mean I appreciate it but I'm sure there's much better uses you could use with your time-"
"Nonsense! I insist," Her resolve was as sturdy as the sword you'd given her, "A little treat of mine."
"I-" Your stomach interrupted any argument you were going to make, "Fine..." You sighed, "But I owe you okay? If you ever need anything just ask me."
She agreed and made you the meal, which you excitedly watched her make. It was so surreal watching Noelle make the pancakes instead of just pressing a couple buttons.
Even still she made those pancakes in record time, you were impressed.
"Thank you so much Noelle! Really, you're carrying Mondstadt on your shoulders." You giggled.
Her face flushed a bright red and she waved her hands dismissively, "Oh no no no, I don't do that much. I'm... not even a knight yet." She frowned.
"Well," You said in-between bites, "You do as much if not more than the knights do. Don't put yourself down just 'cause you're not official yet."
Your smile, a replica of the ones on the statue but brighter and more personal caused Noelle to feel nearly dizzy.
"You're far too kind... Oh! Dear, where are my manners?" She huffed, "What's your name?"
"Oh! It's (Name)." You held out your hand but she didn't take it immediately.
She tilted her head, her eyes narrowed in confusion, "Isn't that... the creator's name? Did your parents name you that?"
Your mind blanked. Why the hell does this creator person have my face and my name?
You chuckled, "They did."
Noelle hummed and nodded along, "It's a bit unusual but not like it's against the law or anything," She shrugged and took your hand, "It's nice to meet you (name). I'm Noelle, though it seems you already knew that..?"
You nodded, "Yeah, I've heard of you. You're the best maid in Mondstadt. Who knows, maybe the best maid in all of Teyvat." You chuckled as her face bloomed into color once more.
"Truly, you flatter me too much," She fanned her face in an attempt to get rid of the heat, "...have you really heard of me outside of Mondstadt."
Without hesitation, you nodded while biting into the pancake, "Of course!" You technically weren't lying. You'd heard of her outside of Mondstadt... and outside of Teyvat... in your world. So it was technically true.
She covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes lit up in wonder, and a soft giggle escaped her throat, "Aha, I'm so happy..."
Without thinking, you reached over and patted her head. She had stars in her eyes. "I'm glad," You said, "You deserve it."
*~
You and Noelle had talked throughout the entire day. She had often went to go and help people and you tried your best to help her as well. Finding stray cats, helping children find lost items or getting them down from high places, collecting and delivering items for people.
You did your best to nudge Noelle away from accepting every little thing that came her way, but majority of the time she'd end up helping the person. So you settled for helping lessen her load by helping her complete the tasks instead.
When night time finally rolled around Noelle finally bid you good night and you were hesitant to leave her because...
You had nowhere to stay.
The dark Mondstadt streets, only lit up by the few streetlights still lit by candles and night owls still awake inside their houses creeped you out.
Where would you stay? You couldn't stay outside for too long, it was freezing and you only had the clothes on your back.
Maybe you could sneak into Angel's Share and sleep in the rafters? That way you'd stay warm and they were open 24/7 you believed.
Maybe you should just tell someone you got transported here from another world. That's what the Traveler did and now they're a renowned hero with a teapot to live in...
Teapot... Teapot! If you could find the Teapot...
"Shit! Where did I last set it down..." You scrounged through your memory, praying it wasn't in the inventory. You had no clue how to access that or if you even could access it.
You recalled... teleporting to Windrise to grab some crystalflies and heal up... and opening up your teapot. That's where it is then. Or at least you hoped.
Even if it wasn't there, sleeping in the big Windrise tree didn't sound like a bad idea. So long as you didn't freeze to death.
With that in mind you set out to begin your walk to Windrise, sending a wave to Katheryne as you left. She wished you good luck which made your heart swell. Her eyes always seemed to know too much... but in this case it was quite comforting.
You also waved goodbye to the guards outside Mondstadt's gate, and they saluted with kind smiles.
You hummed, tiredly making your way across the bridge once more. What a lovely day in Mondstadt, you mused to yourself, humming the quiet nighttime tune.
*~
Your legs were jelly by the time you made it to Windrise, silently thanking the gods that you weren't attacked on the way there. Tiredly, you looked around the statue and the tree for any sign of your teapot and...
nothing. Absolutely nothing.
With a groan, you sat down at the base of the statue, burying your head in your hands, too tired to hold your head up on your own.
You just needed to shut your eyes for a moment...
*~
You blinked your eyes open as the sun glared at you. Squinting up, you noticed you were now laying at the base of the statue.
You paused as a melody filled your ears, close by and unfamiliar. You turned your head to see a bard - your bard - playing the lyre and humming a tune.
"Ah, you're finally awake." He grinned, "What were you doing sleeping outside by the statue?"
You groggily sat up, "Venti?" You groaned, "I was just... traveling and ended up falling asleep."
He hummed, "You know my name?"
Goddamnit-
You nodded, "Yes, you're quite the famous bard aren't you?" The excuse flew naturally off your tongue, it wasn't necessarily a lie either.
Venti giggled, his fingers idly plucking a tune, "Quite the charmer aren't you? Though, can't say you're entirely incorrect. I am the best bard in the world! Most famous though? I can't really say." He leaned in, his face nearly touching yours, "So, how do you know me hm? You just arrived to Mondstadt yesterday after all and I don't believe you ever caught my name or even saw me."
"...You were watching me?" You questioned, your eyes narrowed.
Venti faked an offended gasp, "You make me sound like a criminal! I was merely observing my surroundings. I saw you, an odd looking traveler, and had to observe you for a bit of time. Can't blame me for being a little curious." His grin was sly and it made you roll your eyes.
"Still a bit creepy if you ask me, especially for an apparently not-so-famous bard." You challenged him, your eyes sharp as they dug into him.
He shrugged, "I gotta watch over Mondstadt. I love the city with my life, you know. Now answer the question, how do you know me?" His eyes were so playful for such a scathing question.
You hummed, surprisingly calm given how wrong this could go, "How do you think I know you, bard?"
He giggled, "Asking me the questions now are you?" His fingers switched up and started playing a much more familiar tune. One he shouldn't know, "Perhaps you've been watching me for a long time now. And whenever I saw your eyes I just knew they were the same ones that had been watching me for countless months. Hm?"
Your eyes shot open, "How do you know that song?"
"I know every song," His teal eyes sparkled with mischief and glee, "Past present and future."
Your jaw slackened, but you couldn't help the grin that tugged at your lips.
"I suppose I wasn't aware of just how far your knowledge reached, O' Anemo Archon." You snickered, and jokingly bowed.
Venti giggled, his fingers stopping his playing so he could mockingly bow back, "And I suppose I wasn't aware of how stubborn you are, O' Great Creator."
"What?" Your playful nature halted in its tracks as you stared at Venti, dumbfounded.
He blinked, confused, "Huh?"
You shook your disbelief away with a shake of your head and a laugh, "Did you just call me Teyvat's God?" You chuckled, "Then should I call you your friend's name?"
A flash of hurt took over his eyes, he whined, "Huh? What do they have to do with this, your grace?"
"What?" Dread crawled into the back of your throat, "Cut it out Venti, don't joke like that."
"But I'm not joking, your grace. Did you- did you not know?" His eyes were wide and glassy, "I'm sorry..."
You blinked owlishly, "Wha- you're serious? I thought- I thought I just looked like them!"
"I thought that was your intention!" Venti cried, "I thought this was like- a test of loyalty or something!"
"No! What? Am I actually-" You couldn't force the words out as you stared Venti in the eyes, stunned.
"Y-yes!" He shouted, "You're the creator! I can sense it! So can the slimes and animals. Don't you see?" He pointed to the nearby birds, their gaze turned towards you, "They like you! The monsters don't attack you and this statue calls out to you! Don't you feel its warmth? It's probably why you didn't freeze last night."
You were silent as the information processed, "So- so wait!" You turned your body fully facing Venti, "That shrine in the cathedral... was for me?" You asked, bewildered.
He nodded, "Yeah! Did- did you really not know?"
Immediately you were wildly shaking your head, "No! I just- I dunno! I thought I was like the traveler or something that just got dropped off here one day."
"The traveler came here of their own free will, (Name)!" Venti sighed, "I just- You look exactly like them too!"
"Listen! Denial is a powerful think, okay!" You huffed.
"Fine, I get it." He rested his head on his hands, his eyes meeting yours, "So... are you gonna tell the others?"
"... Dunno." You shrugged, "What would happen if I did?"
"Well..." Venti tapped his finger against his face and used his other hand to hold up his pointer finger, "Zhongli would go batshit. He's got a whole log up his ass when it comes to you and how to 'properly worship you' bleh." Venti stuck his tongue out, "Then there's Baal, she'll probably also go insane over you. She's like a lost puppy." He held up a third finger, "Then there's Jean and the knights. I think they'd be... alright. If you told them they'd try and throw huge festivals for you and worship you. Oh, and the church would triple their worshipping for you, obviously."
You roughly sighed, "So... I won't be treated as a human is what you're saying."
"I mean- well- yeah." He frowned, "Don't worry, I get it if you don't wanna do a whole grand reveal. It's stressful. Too much work, y'know?"
You hummed in agreement, "The thing is..." You frowned, "We don't have any mora."
Venti scoffed, straightening his back with a proud grin, "Speak for yourself! I have a mora."
You snorted, "A mora."
"Hey, better than what you're doing," He took off his hat, "It's right in here-"
You both stared at the hat that was almost as empty as your souls.
"Okay well," Venti put his hat back on, "Nothing a little begging can't do. Not like I haven't played music for money before."
You stared at the ground hopelessly, "...so... how do you think Ningguang would react to me telling her I'm the creator?"
Venti snorted, "I like the way you think but... she'd be grand. I think she'd make you live in the Jade Chamber and give you every little thing you could ever want. She can keep a secret though I'll bet."
You hummed and stared at Venti, living a life as free as a bird. Even with the status of the Anemo Archon, he was as free as his people, and just as happy as them as well.
"Not really the life I wanna live... what about Childe?"
Venti shuddered, "I love you (Name), but no. He makes... quite a spectacle of things. And, well," Venti frowned, "He'd probably leave a few corpses at your doorstep."
"Ah," You grimaced, "Okay so... we're fucked."
"Ah ah ah," Venti waggled his finger comically, "Don't you remember what I said? I can sing for money, and I'm sure with you, the creator's look-alike right by my side helping me with my performance, we'd make double the money! I mean," His eyes were alight with mischievous glee, an expression on him you were coming to dread, "That Noelle girl yesterday had no problem giving you a free meal just cause you look like the creator! So I'm sure we'll pull in lots of cash!"
You frowned and then a lightbulb went off in your head, "Wait a minute," Venti raised a brow, intrigued, "If I'm the supposed creator or god of this world... then those offerings at the altars and shrines are meant for me... right?"
Venti nodded with a tilt of his head, "Yes? ...Oh... Oh!" His eyes lit up like Christmas lights, "You mean-?"
You grinned, "So that means that if I were to... let's say... take the items and sell them, it wouldn't be wrong right?"
Venti tilted his head back and laughed, "No, I suppose it wouldn't be, your grace."
Your grin was damn near evil, "Then I suppose we have our plan then."
Venti nodded, "I suppose we do!" He hopped up and grabbed your hand to help you up as well, "Though I think my singing idea was pretty good." He kicked his legs up like a child as you both made your way back to Mondstadt, "Who knows, I might even become the most famous bard in all of Teyvat with you by my side!"
You hummed, smiling fondly at the silly bard at your side, "Perhaps."

SAGAU,, the creator's bride/groom
a rumor that the almighty creator of teyvat is in the process of choosing a spouse spreads like wildfire. and all their acolytes start sucking up to them like insane. mondstadt edition! part 2 / liyue version here.
reader's gender is not specified, as with most of my works. requests and imagines in my ask box are appreciated, but will take a while. :D
warnings: none
Tumblr media
no one knows where it originated from. where the string of whispers began and who lit the match that set a fire throughout the whole of teyvat. all they knew was that there was no information to deny the rumors and therefore, it was more likely the truth. and it would stay the truth to all the citizens roaming genshin's world until proven otherwise.
in the streets of mondstadt, the city of freedom, business seemed busier than usual. and the usually happy-go-lucky people acted with more haste in their movements, jumping from one block to another to discuss the recent rumors regarding their all-creator.
venti seemed to phase out significantly more than he usually does. it frustrated those who listened whenever he stopped in the middle of a song to seemingly stare down at his hands, lost in another world. soon enough, many of angel share's patrons left disgruntled, mumbling about how unsatisfactory the bard's performance had been that night. it wasn't that venti didn't hear their harsh words, he just didn't seem to care considering the heavier importance of what he had been phasing out for. he knew how easy it was for the citizens of mondstadt to believe and spread baseless rumors, but he couldn't help but plan out the many ways he could win your favor and hand in marriage. the idea had him giddy on his seat, ever so prideful in his abilities. he imagined in his head, how heavenly you would look, smothering him in your affection, calling the anemo archon your husband, telling him that you, the greatest being in the existence of teyvat, loved him and him only.
now you'd think diluc would be bothered by the amount of customers leaving the tavern, but he was just as equally lost in thought as the alleged "tone-deaf bard." unlike venti though, his lack of mindfulness didn't hinder him from performing his job just as well as others expected from him. but, if you observed the red-head closely, even for just a second, you'd see how his eyes gazed at nothing in particular and how his cheeks would turn the same shade of red as his hair ever so often. diluc knew he would be a good spouse to you. he's been worshipping you for about the entirety of his life and he wouldn't mind, in fact, he'd be ecstatic to worship you for a dozen more liftetimes. he'd serve you so well, catering to your every need. he was foreign to affection at this point, yes, but he'd let you do anything to him as long as it made you happy. it made his face heat up, just thinking about the way you'd kiss his cheek, praising him for how good he is to you.
kaeya, ever so sly and observant, saw the way his brother's eyes were glazed over with a look of longing. he didn't need to ask why (not like diluc would tell him anyway), it was the only interesting topic anyone talked about at that point. the creator of teyvat, an ancient god that many worshipped and adored, has been rumored to be looking for a spouse amongst their many, many followers. now, kaeya wasn't one to mindlessly follow new trends or indulge in himself too much, but.. he couldn't deny the sickeningly sweet feeling he got whenever he thought about you choosing him. of course, he never cared about godly titles. lord knows how much he has suffered because of the gods themselves. but he's met you before, spoke to you with his own mouth and listened to you reply with his own ears. slowly but surely, he fell in love with you and your otherworldly presence, growing fond of the quirky habits that you picked up from this so called "earth." he thought about how lonely it must've been for you to be regarded so highly and put on a pedestal, so he let you indulge in the freedom of being treated like a normal person when you were around him. he was hoping that maybe that was enough to get you to choose him.
albedo would only be able to hear of the news the next morning, the morning he decided to descend down to the city of mondstadt, there solely to gather a new batch of supplies. he didn't mean to eavesdrop, but gosh, do the ladies in the marketplace speak loudly. he was a bit shocked by the news, never predicting something like this would come. neither did he expect to be so.. attached to your presence. it was strange, but he wanted to be around you at all times. at first he was convinced it was out of curiosity and respect, but the way he felt ever so warm around you for no particular reason told him otherwise. he wanted to be around you at all times, to be able to protect, to indulge in you. but alas, many other people needed you. he wondered, if you two were to get married, would you be by his side all the time? he considered the possibility, allowing himself to daydream briefly, before calculating a plan in his head.
jean would hear of the news in her office, unable to quite process the.. baffling information. she felt scandalous, viewing a primordial being in that light. she should feel shameful, she told herself. she was but a simple mortal, a simple acting grandmaster, in a simple city. of course you wouldn't consider her a candidate in marriage. she was quite lucky to even be acknowledged by you in the first place. but, but some part of her wanted to hope, and the moment she did, she regretted it because her heartbeat burst into stellar rates before two chaotic forces intruded the peace of her quarters. eula and amber would be straight-out demanding answers from jean, eager to know and expressing so in completely different ways. eula would look quite agitated, frustrated even, the anticipation of knowing ate her up from the inside out. amber would be much more bouncy, nervous about the rumors she had heard from other knights. jean would of course tell them they were just rumors, but the two were already making plans to win you over.
Tumblr media
"your grace! i didn't expect to see you around here, fancy yourself an apple?" venti, ever so energetic, asked from above you, only finding it efficient to fly down the statue of himself once you opened your mouth.
"ah, no, i'm fine. i just need some air is all." you shook your head, looking away from venti to stare at the giant oak tree of windrise. you didn't know what to expect from the bard. would he be as bad as the other archons?
"oh? i'm pretty sure there's plenty of air in liyue and inazuma, your grace. not unless i'm mistaken."
you chuckled at his statement, cringing at how rude and sarcastic it sounded. "well, yes, but the people there have been a lot more.. suffocating than usual."
venti wondered if it had anything to do with the current marriage rumors running around, but he dared not comment, knowing that if he did, it would only make you feel worse.
the next few days in mondstadt were quite strange, stranger than usual. you were glad the people there gave you more space than you got in the other nations, expected from the nation of freedom. but, you couldn't help but notice how fidgety everyone has been acting.
the way noelle, the diligent and hardworking maid, who was usually so kind and casual to you, turned beet red whenever you were in close proximity. "y- your grace! do you need assistance with anything? anything at all? o-oh no, i'm fine."
the way diluc, who would usually just politely look at you in the background, approached you with more luxurious gifts and proposals of.. friendly dates. "i was hoping you'd enjoy your stay in mondstadt, your grace. but even more so, i was hoping you'd enjoy my presence above everything else like i enjoy yours."
the way kaeya, who usually blatantly teased you, acted more gentlemanly around you. kissing the top of your hand, gracing you with compliments that were much sweeter and more genuine than what you'd usually get from the cavalry captain, the way he'd actively seek out your presence and ask you out for lunch. "has anyone ever told you that you're absolutely breathtaking, [name]?"
the way jean, who was usually so confident and composed, looked nervous whenever you greeted her a simple 'good morning' or 'good evening.' sometimes she even stuttered over her words, something that shocked you and everyone else who was lucky enough to witness it. "yes, you do look gorgeous tonight- i mean, the sky looks- the night sky looks gorgeous tonight! argh, i sincerely apologize for my inappropriate behavior, your grace."
the way amber, who was usually so chill, stumbled upon her steps, looking burnt amd beaten, approached you with a gift in hand. unlike diluc, her gifts weren't bought, they seemed to have been hunted down by amber herself which was entirely impressive and thoughtful of her. "n- no need to thank me, your grace. just wanted to give you something worth carrying around as always!"
the way aether (and paimon, by extension) followed you around even more so than they usually do. not that you minded, you liked it, in fact. but it was a bit unusual, considering how aether usually had many commissions to do. "last night, aether told paimon that he wanted to mmphf-"
the way albedo had started inviting you to his base in wolvendom more often or went down to the city to seemingly just hang out with you. you found him quite interesting, so the time you two spent had been a highlight in your time in mondstadt. especially the moment when, "your grace, i heard that you've been looking for a spouse amongst your acolytes. i was wondering if.. you ever considered me?"
you felt your face heat up. ah, so that's what this was all about.

When I Accidentally Became the God of Travel and Protection
Mentioned AU: Isekai AU, calling this type the Active Player AU, Self-Aware Genshin Impact AU (but few are truly 'aware'.)
Featuring: Noelle, Jean, Diluc, Kaeya, Albedo, ft. Others
Imagine being the mama bird of all these Genshin Characters. I just wanna be there and protect them 🥺🥺
—— —— ——
It started with just one. You managed to convince Noelle by accident, really. One time, she had gotten really hurt. She wasn't even supposed to be in harm's way— she's a maid! She was just supposed to collect some Wolfhook berries....
Then, by chance, you noticed her struggle. A morning stroll in Wolvedom for you had quickly become a battle between the Abyss and yourself. This devolved into a battle of strength, which you had to call upon. You wipe the floor with the elements, harnessing that ability since you could finally fight in Teyvat.
That's all it was. The ability to possess playable characters and keep some crazy EM stats on your multi-elemental person. Nothing strange about that, right? Wrong.
You forgot that you weren't just the Traveller anymore. You were you, and you were very super-powered at the moment. Noelle, who had trained everyday with her own immense strength, could definitely notice. Your raw strength wasn't normal by any standard she'd known— not Jean, not Kaeya, nor Amber...
It appeared as if the elements strongly favored you. Could you teach her that? Ah, she's hurt right now... Oh? You know how to help her?
Yes, you could even feed them with magic food. The same kind that only the Traveller ever had...
Noelle had to ask, then! Could you cook with same... magic like they could? Make the same fantastic dishes that they could make?
Needless to say, you left a deep impression on Noelle.
After your parting with Noelle, you simply went on with your day. Nothing changed for a good while and really, you were happy to get to travel around!
Free teleportation, no worries about employment or food, and a bed within a teapot...
Noelle, on the other hand, couldn't wrap her head around it. Did this make you a God? Some spirit or protector? She doesn't remember Lord Barbatos even possessing half the powers you do! Does that make you above Archons?
Whether you were from Celestia or some other third possibility, she made sure she remembered your advice: "Just call out if you need help next time."
Noelle carried this knowledge with her. She heaved it over her back like protective armour, and wielded it like a secret weapon. She didn't want to use it. She shouldn't have to, right?
She would have liked to never use it, but even Noelle can recognize a tough fight. Lawachurls and civilians... they don't mix, and Noelle really needed the help. So, she gave it a try.
She calls your name...
.
And there you are, ready to throw down as a sort of spirit hanging over her shoulder. You were a wisp, really, but you gave her more strength. You called upon more energy. In less than 2 minutes, the lawachurl is defeated swiftly. Noelle's Claymore crackles with the elements. It's all thanks to you, she's sure...
She tells Kaeya. She tells Lisa.
Amber, Klee, Sucrose, who tells Albedo, who discusses it with Jean. Diluc hears about it through Charles, who hears it from any drunkards who witnessed your abilities. Your name, your power, your abilities — they become the talk of Mondstadt. Some are convinced that you're simply an urban legend.
Noelle prays for guidance and protection from you. She prays for the safety of Mondstadt without ever knowing if you can hear her. She doesn't tell you, but it happens. You give her artifacts in the time between prayers, which she happily discovers the power of. If she is suddenly able to defeat enemies more quickly, then it must have been by your grace!
Maybe she asks eventually. Maybe she doesn't. Maybe it's Kaeya instead, who simply finds you. Of course he was going to find you eventually. Mondstadt isn't always so eventful. He probably catches you walking around the Church, or walking into the Angel's Share. You'd be surprised to see Diluc there, if only you knew that he rarely worked a shift.
When questioned, you're calm and normal, if not slightly nervous by all the sudden questions. But who were you to worry? Kaeya had a very silver tongue and Diluc knew how to work with Kaeya. You try not to worry about the questions over drinks but instead offer protection if either of them need it.
Kaeya tries it. Very purposefully, by the way. He picked a fight he knew he could win against particularly weak hilichurls. True to what he's heard, and to what you can do, you simply grab a hold of Kaeya and give a massive damage output. Congratulations, you've convinced Kaeya of your 'alledged godhood.'
Diluc doesn't try it, but he knows it works. Kaeya was particularly insistant that he keep tabs on the little 'god experiment', to see where you were and what you did. You kinda... interacted with a pop-up window. Other than that? Nothing much.
Diluc is convinced that you're definitely someone powerful, and you don't even realize he knows.
Albedo just has to talk to you, now. He has to know how you manage to pull all this off. How far can you do it from? What does it look like from your perspective? Really, he has to measure all parameters. Memorize every detail that you see and feel. Repeat it in increasing different ways to figure out the limits of both you and your possessed character.
He throws himself into the fray. Sucrose helps him with the experiment. Timaeus wants to join in; sadly, you don't seem to know how. It's all so interesting. So much to learn and so many secrets to uncover— it's the first time in a long time that Albedo's been outwardly excited. You've piqued his interest and now, you both get to learn something!
Sucrose and Albedo certainly believe you're strong, but not quite a god. You're from out of this world, right? Maybe you exist within the boundary of a rule unknown to Albedo?
Suprise visit, Lisa wants to talk! Yes, for as much as she knows, she clearly has more to learn. She's happy to sit and discuss this over tea, if you like? Oh yes, it would happen that she invited Jean to sit with her. Jean caught off guard that YOU'RE the plus-one invitee, but she's just as respectful. You have a great time with the Favious Girlies, discussing your days together. You made some good friends, you think!
There's a lot of people to cover, and even more to talk about in the other nations.

I've been kinda falling outta the SAGAU fandom recently, but I still wanted to post something on my tumblr, and I find sagau fun to work with; so, here, have a tierlist based on how the playable characters act around you. I might be posting some normal genshin content, in the future.

Was reading thru ur answered asks again (also hey lol i CAME BACK--) and like. Oh my god. It gave me The Most Idea.
So you get isekaied to Teyvat right? They hear your og language, they revere every single worf from your mouth, yadda yadda yadda. But like. How does SLANG AND THE OTHER ASPECTS OF UR OG LANGUAGE translate. I am having VERY heavy flashbacks to Pokemons "jelly filled donuts".
So like-- for example: (this is the first one that came to my head dont judge me i am tumblr trash) (lets also assume that traveler has perfect understanding of ur language and slang and all the nuances of it)
Lets say you and the traveler were hanging out with some of the Vision holders, and the traveler had some shenanigans and pranks or something planned. After they pull their shit, you say "i hate you so much (affectionate)". Which kind of throws the Vessels in for a loop because like-- their god literally just said they HATED someone. And hate is a PRETTY STRONG WORD. So they should DEFINITELY strike them down for catching their gods ire but-- AFFECTIONATE????? how does one hate someone affectionately???????? Does this mean their god hates the traveler but decided to recind their hate last second? Is it some form of Divine and Holy emotion that cannot be described by the mere words of their language????
Meanwhile youre just there vibin and having a blast with the traveler while you casually give them a philosophical crisis AHAHAHA
Another example is shortened words-- because i know teyvat doesnt have shit like "ily" or "omg" or "lmao" or "fyi" or "brb". Because honestly, without the cultural knowledge and background of the internet, these sets of letters are just fucking GIBBERISH.
And i know that like-- i know enough internet slang abbreviations that i can literally just talk in jumbles of letters, so how in the WORLD would the vessels interpret that? Because its very clear that their god is just using the letters of their language, HELL they might even use Teyvatian letters so what in the world are they saying????
So theyd just hear a convo between the traveler and reader thats like:
Reader: traveler, i gtg asap; tldr i forgot some stuff back in the cr brb
Traveler: wait fr?
Reader: yeah fr
Traveler: lol f
Reader: (sighs) ffs man-- anyways brb for real
Traveler: cya
And the vessels are just watching the exchange like "huh?? What????? What just happened here??????" And theyre just wondering if they used teyvatian to talk in the "divine language of the gods" but nah-- yall are just dickin around AHAHA
Hey, so it came to my attention some of this was AAVE, and while i am southern so things like "ya'll" got included w/o me thinking - thats not an excuse for me to use this as a white person.
so if you wouldnt mind letting me please know if i do this as we talk abt language more and more - i do not want to repeat shit like this again.
I'm genuinely sorry to any black readers out there.
I've personally seen and cringed with you when I see imagines/reader things that assume a white person as default,
All I can do in ur eyes is promise that I am actively putting a stop to my ignorance of things like AAVE, and ask for forgiveness (which you arent obligated to give, never feel that way).
So with that in mind, read the ask below with caution, although it has since been edited.
____
ITS YOU!! >:D
A treat for ur ask my liege 🤲🍪✨️
I think u were literally the first asker after my first SAGAU/Isekai language brainrot post!! Omg u came back with a banger LMAO
Tumblr media
What in the public menace is this...
(Gif is traveler and u pranking bitches)
Traveler knowing our world + language + SLANG?? INTERNET?? is SUCH A CONCEPT
So much room for inside jokes
I absolutely love the first one u said about phrases these days/gen z ig? slang
Its like so dramatic now that i think about it
Hate / love / dead / die / just straight up threats towards ur friends as affection or if theyre annoying u 😭
So many explicitives that make it hit harder too "go fucking die, my love <3"
^^^Or yeah like contradictions lol
I think it was @nexylaza (srry abt the tag!) who replied to one of my earlier asks about blunt language how that might sound like to Teyvatians like ur emotions sound more extreme than what u actually feeling (which makes sense ur literally using hate = mildly dislike LMAO)
Same situation here like what u said ^^^
(Ok i did lovely Aether awhile back so we'll go w/ Lumine this time! <3 u Aether!!)
.
*idk at an event/party for your arrival or something, and ya hungry fucks r hoarding the buffet table lol 🍻
.
You: "Shut the fuck up Lumine-"
Lumine: "Why r u pouring ur drink like ur in a earthquake lmao? Shaky hands lol"
.
*The immediate area of people around you go dead silent
*Lumine laughs
💀💀!!
.
Lumine: "Your gonna miss our cups LMAO"
You: "Bitch!" (u grinnin too lol)
.
*the whole rooms now quiet 😭
.
Lumine: "Don't spill- 🤣"
You: "I fucking hate you u whore <3"
(And u give the most genuine like abt to laugh smile🥰 )
.
*...a confused and kinda scared tension fills the room lol
*So poor Noelle, is like, oh. my. god. Creator is that upset with Lumine?? I must try to see what happened, how I can help! I dont remember Lumine doing anything bad to them! Shes wonderful y u do this to her 🥲
.
Noelle: "Uh, um, e-excuse me? Is every-everything al-alright, Y-y-your Majesty?"
You: "Huh? Yeah why??"
Noelle: "...w-well..."
UR FACE LIKE "😗?" LMFAO
.
*The room is staring at Lumine, in a mix of like shock, fear, and a little admiration for taking ur hate?? mood swing??? so well,,
theyre just waiting on Noelle to get an answer from you as to why you hate someone u seemed to care so much about, esp since they were ur first vessel 💀
look what you did their poor hearts u gonna give them a heart attack soon
.
Noelle: "A-a-a-a-are y-y-you s-sure??"
SHE IS SWEATIN
You: "🤨🤨??"
.
*Lumine finally notices why theyre all quiet and kinda concerned looking, bc u sure as hell wouldnt 😭 (i mean it is normal speech for u)
.
And Lumine's like: "No Noelle we're all good! It's just how Your Grace's home world, er, speaks for slang? Its overexagerated purposely dont worry love"
...
...
*Im sure they dont all believe her (or even you if u tell them 😭) and are just like,, REALLY NERVOUS CHUCKLING WHILE LIKE SWEATING-
And it takes a good like 10 minutes for the conversations to start getting back to their volume again, and they all still are looking over their shoulder checking on you guys 😰
.
(U did pour drinks w/o spillin tho🍻)
THE TEXTING SLANNGGG
Ok, but u and Lumine would fucking write letters to people, and being the little shits pranksters u are,
(Bc u kno Teyvat dont got nothing else bc we're in the medival ages, besides having cameras- 🙄 )
And u guys r constantly-
"oh yes yes, that sounds all well and good Keqing, please inform the Qixing that I'll be there ASAP"
AND THEN-
"oh haha, silly me, i forgot that only Lumine/you get that stuff, sorryyyy 😋!!!"
SOME PUBLIC MENACES LMFAO PLEASE
.
And it just spreads to ALLLL the official documents u write or literally any letters sent to anybody-
And everyone else is feeling like the friend that got sacrificed to walk in the grass instead of the sidewalk 💀💀
While also being like "??¿?¿??? 🥲🥲😀😀???"
Is this ancient code?? Why does Lumine get to know it??
Why dont the like??? really old deities understand it??!!
But then nerds like Tighnari, Albedo, Alhaitham, Zhongli, Sucrose, Ayaka, Kokomi, Xingqiu, Childe, Yanfei, Shenhe, Kazhua, Sara, Ayato, Heizou, Cyno, Kaeya
Try to "solve" the letters or slang, poor things and not a single one of them gets it (y did u do this to them lmao)
(God i finally looked at a character list so i wouldnt leave anyone out, but theres so many of these fucks by now help)
^^^But all these ppl try to solve it in different ways/for different reasons that im too lazy to type out individually, u can see it right??
Some see this as an ancient scholarly code thing, some of them think of it like a rlly hard puzzle, and some just rlly want to put the mental effort into knowing/not being left out 😭😭
.
And if anybody happens to see some letter exchanges w/ Lumine or like any written responses, you do not. stop. using. text slang. back to back.
(Like what u put in the ask💀)
And its so miserable for those characters mentioned especially, bc they look like scrambled letters 😭
.
Honestly them seeing u two talk to each other via letters just proves that the letters even mean anything at all to them, bc how did u understand each other, otherwise???!!
.
(No one would ever realize u guys were fucking around unless u told them 💀)
✨️Sorry✨️this✨️isnt✨️that✨️great✨️i✨️just✨️wanted✨️ to✨️ expand✨️ on✨️ what ✨️u ✨️already ✨️had ✨️nothing ✨️new✨️ 🧚🏽‍♀️🧚🏽‍♀️
I felt feral and out of it when i wrote this, i literally dont remember a single word i typed on that bullet list..
SO i still have asks/requests im gonna answer but i will be posting my follower event poll!! CLICK ME :) ♡
Yall get to choose what i write about for some posts :D
(You can be a new follower!)
✨️
BTW
UR SO BIG BRAIN SMART 2ND RANDOM U EVEN THOUGHT ABT TEYVATIAN LETTERS GETTING INCLUDED ADHJSLALASLL
WHAT A GENIUS
I hope my shit writing was somewhat ok of a reply to read to pay u back for that great idea lol
Cheers,
🌒🌧🌊Aquarius♒️🌌🌘

Tumblr media
⠀‣ Albedo
About The Creator: Learning
"It is quite unfortunate they don't remember anything about their past life and how they created everything in this world, I would have a few questions to ask...but learning about them is still interesting, especially how they seem to affect me, for exemple I get distracted by them during my work, but not because they are beside me, it's because they aren't."
About The Creator: Consort
"You seem rather surprised, it's true that I have troubles in finding time for socializing, but it doesn't feel difficult with them, as it was almost a natural thing that we were simply meant to be, that's why I accepted their proposal, to investigate this feeling that warm my body even in the coldest place of Dragonspine... Anyway, do you want to see my sketches of them? I don't know why but I'm not able to catch their full beauty, maybe you could help me."
⠀‣ Amber
About The Creator
"You know, when I first heard about Y/n, I thought they were super serious and all but when I met them they were nice to talk to! We passed so much time talking and I even taught them how to glide! But I couldn't shake the feeling that they must felt so lonely... people view them as their God and so they are either scared or don't think they are worthy to talk to Y/n. I can't help but feel sad, I'm happy to have them as a friend and to be one for them too!"
⠀‣ Barbara
About The Creator
"I was so happy to learn our Creator finally descended, even during my first concert I didn't feel so anxious to sing in front of someone.. Oh, they're so kind too! They always tell me to relax around them and they compliment my singing, telling me it's healing their soul! Ah... I feel like my heart is going to burst because of how joyful I am!"
⠀‣ Bennett
About The Creator
"Oh, they're like a super important person here, so much so that I don't have the right to approach them. I was surprised when they sneak out to go talk to me, they're always telling me to take care and wish me luck, that doesn't help my luck at all but I appreciate the worry!"
⠀‣ Diluc
About The Creator: Traditions
"My late father was a firm believer, teaching me and Kaeya the traditions and to always thank The Creator for the good things like the bad ones because they make us stronger. I still do both."
About The Creator: Consort
"You heard the news? I should have expect that... I wish that our relationship was kept more private. I heard that I was... 'overprotective', and frankly.. I do not care what others say, this world is dangerous, danger can come from anywhere, especially when their name is known all around Teyvat. They always worry about me and my night activities, asking me to just drop it for one night, to the point of threatening me with the silent treatment. Let's just say being worried over each others is how we work, but people can't mind their own business... That's why I didn't want people to know."
⠀‣ Diona
About The Creator
"They're nice, they even wanted to help me to destroy the wine industry, but I had to fire them because not only they attracted more customers to the Cat's tail, everyone was being delusional and asked for more of their drink! Hmp, I kind of miss them rubbing my ears though... Y-You heard nothing!!"
⠀‣ Eula
About The Creator
"It's a custom of the Lawrence Clan to worship its Creator as they were the one to bless us with nobility, so I have to address them with my utmost respect, however they always tell me to just 'relax' and 'drop the act', I shall make them pay to tell how a Lawrence should behave! But to be honest, I'm not so sure if I can since they are the God we worship, nobody in the Clan planned a rule for this occasion.."
⠀‣ Fischl & Oz
About The Creator
"Fate was sealed when the holy name fell to the soon blessed land to greet the one bereft of sins, both born in this universe from the sea of stars with The Knowledge which the infinity is powerless to conceal, and yet, I, Prinzessin der Verurteilung cannot comprehend the absolute truth for the disciples of this world, as I can only hear the sound of darkness produced by its light.
What does she means is that she thinks The Creator is worth of her friendship and would like to know them more, but their way of speaking with their 'slangs', are quite difficult to understand."
⠀‣ Jean
About The Creator: Work
"I understand it might be overwhelming for them, that's why I'm trying to manage their schedule and reassure them. I know they told me to take a rest for a while but I can't help but be concerned, I only wish for them to be confortable and free from worry."
About The Creator: Consort
"We've been close for quite some time, I truly felt touched when they asked me, it's quite embarrassing to say but I was lost for words, and I don't usually loose my composure... But I was happy to accept their proposal, they're someone I can turn to when I need to, they do bring me comfort, I hope they think the same thing about me... Sorry, I get a bit distracted when talking about them."
⠀‣ Kaeya
About The Creator: First Impression
"Oh... so you've heard about The Great Creator of Teyvat, have you met them yet? I'm sure you'd like them, their personality don't quite match their title, but don't worry, you're not going to be disappointed."
About The Creator: Consort
"You want to know more about me being a consort? Don't you think it's a bit inappropriate... Hehe, I'm just teasing you, I have to admit they caught me off guard when they proposed to me, but how could I say no to such an adorable face, they're so cute when they're shy, very fun to tease. Oh, if you excuse me, I have to meet them for some... private stuff..."
⠀‣ Klee
About The Creator
"Y/n is the best! We do fireworks together, it's less fun than fish blasting but it's so pretty... They also take care of me sometimes with Albedo, it's so fun when we're the three together!"
⠀‣ Lisa
About The Creator
"We've been on a few dates together, for book recommendations obviously, haha. They wanted to know more about their past life, unfortunately there is so little about The Creator in the library. I have to say the way they're portrayed in the books isn't as endearing as the real version."
⠀‣ Mona
About The Creator
"Asking me to look at their destiny is like asking me to look at the constellation of a constellation... The Creator is the stars themselves and everything that exists in this world. Hydromancy is a simple magic trick compared to their power, but they seemed to have lost it with their memory too. Do you know how much Mora some Acolytes offered me to show The Creator their past?! Of course I didn't accept but that was a beautiful thought to imagine..."
⠀‣ Noelle
About The Creator
"Once I was helping them to search an object, it took us the whole day but we finally found it, I proposed my help if they had any other troubles and they told me I didn't have to do that but I told that made me happy that I could help them. And after that, they looked a bit down, maybe it's because they aren't use to people helping them out of kindness, but because of their important position we gave them, so as asual I wanted to help by cheering them up and that is how we became friends."
⠀‣ Razor
About The Creator
"Hm, Cre-ator? I don't know them... Y/n? Yes, they're nice and kind, very kind. My lupical also likes their smell."
⠀‣ Rosaria
About The Creator
"Since they came back, there has been more work for the sisters, making sure to welcome them every time they visit Mondstadt, new choirs and prayers to learn, urg... Though I have to say it's quite a funny sight to see them just as bored in those neverending ceremonies as me."
⠀‣ Sucrose
About The Creator
"Oh yes, they're an interesting person, I wanted to observe them, o-of course not without their agreement, but I was afraid to ask... However, Mr. Albedo told me to go and talk to them because he needed to investigate about something, he wanted to see how someone else is affected when talking to The Creator. I'm not sure what conclusion I needed to draw but I discovered they were really nice and told me I shouldn't be afraid of talking to them more... Ah, I hope we can have another chance to discuss together again."
⠀‣ Venti
About The Creator: Songs
"Ah, yes, many people in Mondstadt believe in them, that's why I dedicated multiple songs about them and the wonderful land they created! Those really help me when I don't have enough money to pay... Ehe~"
About The Creator: Consort
"It's always a delight to hear people talking about our union, they're such a wonderful partner, how lucky I am! I still write many songs about them, just a different type this time and they're more personal. But I can write thousands of lyrics with the most beautiful words and somehow it will never be enough to demonstrate my love... Hmm... I like this topic! If you want we can talk more about them over a drink, or perhaps I can show you my new poem for them."

How do you think people would react to a partially paralyzed reader who can only walk for limited amounts of time before their legs just become numb and unable to move? They tend to like RPGs, especially open world, for this very reason because they get to do whatever they want and go wherever they please. Genshin Impact became their favorite. Little do they know, the entirety of Teyvat awaited them to arrive for an adventure where the acolytes will be there to protect them piously as theytravel
Note: I am not a doctor nor am I partially paralyzed. Parts about this might be inaccurate but I tried my best to focus on a reader with limited movement time before they are unable to walk. Hopefully, this is still okay!
Tumblr media
A few months ago you had been isekai-ed into Tevyat. All the playable characters and npc’s seemed to know about you. Apparently, as you played the game behind the screen they had gotten to know you. You too, of course, know them inside out as well. You played the game every day as an escape, getting to know the world Tevyat and its inhabitants.
Sadly you bumped into some problems when first arriving here, but do not worry! Everyone is happy to help in any possible way. With your limited movement time, you move from room to room. For bigger distances they create a wheelchair or someone will accompany you in case you needed to be carried when you couldn’t walk anymore.
Everyone is really understanding about the situation and while it still sucks, with the help of everyone you’re able to visit the places you’d only see behind the screen. For once in your life, you feel like a real adventurer.
Tumblr media
Some small scenarios:
Diluc, the first one to actually carry you. He is extremely alert and notices your fatigue and weak legs before you can collapse. He’s a gentleman, asking permission if he can continue to carry you. Overall he’s very strong and isn’t bothered at all by your weight. If you ever happen to take a stroll around Mondstad you should take this guy with you. He is yearning for someone to spend time with, and because he carries his claymore everywhere it isn’t a problem when he has to carry you for longer distances either. ‘Don’t worry. I’m used to the weight of my claymores. Don’t think of this as a bother. I do fear I might be less capable of keeping you entertained.’
I can see Noelle lifting you up like its nothing. No matter how big or tall you are, she will pick you up bridal style and carry you somewhere safe and comfortable. ‘You seem tired. Would you like some tea? I'll brew you some. Do you take sugar? One cube, or two?’
Everyone knows how strong Itto is. He is a bit too excited when you ask him if he can carry you for the remaining distance to Inazuma city but it excites you as well. Just cling to Itto! He will make sure that you’re safe! ‘Oh and don’t worry majesty! I can run really fast if you wanna get home quickly. What’s that? You want me to walk slowly. I see, I see. Everyone wants to hang out with the great Arataki Itto, after all.’
Xiao is pushing the wheelchair around the roads of Wangshu inn after you came to eat almond tofu with the adepti. He might not express it visibly but the fact that he takes time off his duties to take a walk with you ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS!! Assures you that he enjoys it just as much as you do. ‘Hmm. If you didn’t pay attention to the interludes, they’re going to start tying in now. Also, if you have yet to read the story’s important notes (I don’t know why you wouldn’t have, since I’ve already asked on a previous chapter as well as the masterlist), it’s never too late to correct a mistake. It’s been semi-updated recently as well, so another quick reread/skim is never a bad idea.
Chapter 14
(~3.2k words, see chapter list here)
Tumblr media
You didn't expect this.
Maybe you should have. But by all accounts, your life has always been... pretty average. Things happened. People came and went. You were there, but not really. Sometimes, you seemed to be an outside observer of your own life, just watching things happen with no control over them. Sometimes, nothing felt right. You were the sort of person who wouldn't mind getting isekai'd, because you didn't have a ton of attachments to your world... at least, that's what you always told yourself.
So then why are you crying?
You lift a hand to your tear-stained cheek as your companions snooze away nearby. The sky is getting lighter, but the sun has not yet broken over the horizon as you rise from your borrowed sleeping bag and take a few steps away from the camp. You take a seat on the riverbank, watching the water lap gently against the shore.
There's no 'if's, 'and's, or 'but's about it: you're homesick.
You had a dream again. Like before, you can't remember all of it, but you cling to fragments, trying to piece them together.
You were back home again... though the word 'home' feels funny on your tongue, as if it's not quite right. You remember a bunch of people: friends and loved ones of yours. You can't recall if they were gathered for a specific event or purpose, or if they were just all there by coincidence because that's how dreams work. Nor can you recollect what anyone said to you, which leaves you the most ill at ease, because you have a feeling it was something important.
Even Autumn was there. You don't know what Autumn looks like in real life, but your dream had assigned them a random figure, and you knew instinctively who they were. Who else could it be? They gave you a sad smile from across the room as the others were talking, and it haunts you. Why are you sad, my friend? Why am I?
Answers. Liyue will have answers. It has to.

Your first encounter with slimes happens around mid-morning. You haven't quite reached the Stone Gate outpost when you pass a rich vein of Cor Lapis, and out pop several small geo slimes.
They're cute, just as you expected. Not quite as cute as the official art made them out to be, but very small and squishy. Very... squeezable.
You want to hug one.
Luck must be on your side, because the slimes start bouncing directly toward you. Your companions ready their weapons, and Noelle moves to shield you. She succeeds in blocking most of them, but one of them slips past her and bumps against your leg.
"Ouch!" It wasn't a hard bump by any means, but even without the thick armor of a larger geo slime, the little rock-horns on its head are sharp enough to scrape your leg. The slime seems a little surprised as well, and nudges against your leg more gently. Aw... that's kind of sweet.
"Xaue kigxm, kxg aue egqu?!" Amber exclaims frantically.
You imagine she's concerned for your welfare, so you wave your hand dismissively. A little scratch is far from what it takes to do you in; but your companions are here to take their escort mission seriously. Fischl twirls her bow with dramatic flair and gestures to Oz. "Ujrgbfu, rxalta enz ymtoc jtg kmtarv kyknz yjtkol uzto rgtxkzk yyktqxgj!"
"Es ymtoc kxg ejgkxrg jkrxalta, toks tokragxl," he responds, swooping up next to Noelle as the outrider and the princess take aim from a short distance. Meanwhile, Bennett rushes over to you, preparing to defend you from the slime currently rubbing against you.
You wave your hands frantically at him. "Wait, no! I think they're friendly!"
He pauses, giving you a searching look. "You... ztuj ztgc us uz qigzzg?" he says, sounding unsure of himself. The others stop to glance at you as well. In response, you lean down to pet the slime. It's got a bit of a dusty texture, like a box that's been in the attic too long, but it's not wholly unpleasant. It's also really...
......really......?
For some reason, your mind feels hazy as you search for the right words. It's...?
You slump to the ground, causing shouts of alarm from your companions. Simultaneously, the slime puffs up, expanding to more than half the width of the walkway and gaining a rocky plate of armor. Amber and Fischl unleash a volley of arrows, and Oz starts firing off bolts of lightning. With a sweep of her claymore, Noelle bats what's left of the smaller slimes into the stream nearby and rushes back to you, inserting herself firmly between you and the still-growing slime. "Kygkrv kbgkr yonz uz ya, xaue kigxm!" Bennett also steps up, his eyes narrowed in fiery determination as his sword starts to glow with pyro.
You clutch your head, too dazed to stop them. What the fuck just happened?
With difficulty, you try to focus as your companions whack away at the giant slime. You're tired... no, not tired. You're weak, like all the strength has left your body. But how? And why? Are you such a weak god that you're so easily bested by a slime of all things?
Nope, you're pretty sure this is the clincher. No way are you a god. Goodbye, cruel world. I hardly knew you.
The fight is over almost as soon as it began. You don't know who deals the final blow (or shot). One second the slime is there, getting battered from all sides; the next, it's gone. You can feel the difference, though. It's like a change in the air. A sudden wave of energy washes over you, and the fog in your head clears abruptly as your strength returns to you.
You feel... fine. Better, in fact, if that's even possible. But your confusion doubles now that you can think clearly again. Did that slime absorb your energy somehow? Did you just absorb energy from a slime?? ...Come to think of it, the game had those elemental particle things... have you charged up your (nonexistent) elemental burst??? Can you-
"Xaue kigxm!" The collective voices of your companions snap you out of your thoughts. Now that the danger has passed, everyone crowds around you anxiously.
"Sorry- I'm fine, thank you... sorry," you repeat. You're not quite sure what you're apologizing for - you didn't manifest the slimes; but you seem to be to blame for making the battle of greater difficulty than necessary, so it feels like the appropriate thing to do.
Bennett translates while rapidly shaking his head, as if disagreeing. "No 'sorry'!" he says when he finishes, obviously trying to use words you'll understand. "'Thank you'... yes; no 'sorry'!" It's awkward phrasing, reminiscent of Razor, but it gets the message across. You give him a small smile.
Amber puts a comforting hand on your shoulder while Noelle kneels and starts digging around in her bag. "Yzgnz znmox, yzo zut xaue zragl, xaue kigxm! Ztuj exxuc zauhg g mtonz, krrkut rroc kbgn aue jknizgv va to ut ksoz!" the outrider says cheerfully. The maid pulls a cloth and a roll of bandages out of her pack and starts dabbing at your leg. Now that your initial shock has worn off, you realize that the slime's horns gouged you a little deeper than you originally thought. You wince as she gently fishes a pebble out of the shallow wound.
All in all, not a great start to your day... and your disappointment that you won't be gaining a slime companion is immeasurable. But as Noelle sets the cloth down and begins diligently wrapping your leg, you realize something good did come of the situation.
The cloth is stained a vibrant gold.

Your mood picks up considerably when you reach Dihua Marsh, and Wangshu Inn looms in the distance. With your destination in sight, the party is rejuvenated, and everyone picks up the pace. Truthfully, it's bigger and even more beautiful than you imagined, especially with the afternoon light hitting it just right - but that's not why you're excited, of course.
"Eh knz egc," Amber ventures as you cross the bridge, "yonz yo erhghuxv g jgh ksoz uz qyg, zah... uj etg lu aue qgkvy kykaeor? O zyap cutq tgoxksay."
"I cutq g zoh," Bennett replies proudly. "Knz yjgj kbgn tkkh mtonigkz me. You xkbkt cutq zgnc kxaue mtoum uz xkztauitk mtoxaj tg kxaztkbjg!" He scratches the back of his head sheepishly. "Na, zgnz jogy... uy xgl yzo erzyus ioygh tuozgyxkbtui jtg rgtuozgazoy llazy zauhg ykosktk, uy so zut kxay cun ralkya zgnz rroc kh."
Fischl gives a closed-mouth laugh that reminds you of an anime villainess, minus the ill intentions. "Xgkl zut, es rgeur yzikphay! Enz jkskkzyk toyykftoxv yo jkztogawig nzoc etgs ykamtuz to xkjxu uz erxkvuxv kzgiotassui nzoc rrg xkn jkzubkj yxkcurrul."
"Knz zygr quuh to xkn kzoxubgl ykoxky ztjoj zkm jkzgrytgxz, uy kny jkojazy kzoaw eryauoigxub uz kky zo uz yzo tuoyaritui."
"Fu!"
Noelle clears her throat. "Errgazig, o uyrg cutq kzoaw g zoh. O ztjrauc um uy xgl yg uz rrgi lrkyes ztkarl, zah o tgi kzgmobgt zyus ytuozgyxkbtui."
"Qtgnz yyktjuum!" Amber breathes a sigh of relief. "O ztjoj cutq zgnc kc kxkc mtoum uz uj xul g kzatos kxknz."
As she speaks, a man hurries down the steps of the inn. Spotting your group, he rushes over, planting himself in front of you in a deep bow. "Xy wy ro varal ax uf ry veai ugruwuvs, veai uryzyh ugovk. Uzub ruuf kryxguscu eai hro veai huquuxwu wuxipago, hro ub hpeab uf huwoups hraiuf uvewouq ax vujja vea upfqel wugyzvuw aw xolx eai xlkyq xwuv iwou kryveh veai wpuzovx."
Blankly, you look to your companions, waiting for one of them to handle it. Fischl steps forward. "Veai ixypoxyswal wy xwaq huxoyguvsso," she says, and is it your imagination, or does she sound slightly less confident than normal? "Vyulx ugovk wxsuggo ilx- veai weavuruk vujja, hro hpealw unyp ax ukpehry ry o pouq hro o wxlkyr xwuv uvajuf iulx hro vyulx ueryxuv ueryxrag vyulx rayxoryvkuvus- iurveam."
"Erkiot ktuj, toks tokragxl," Oz murmurs, and she puffs out her chest a bit, looking pleased.
"Ja uwveag, ja uwveag!" The man rises, sweeping a hand toward the building. "Vuzuxolb vyulx ugovk wuvywuh, jy xy wy rylxyb vea vubas ax uhyzavs, ub ppolw. Uwoups, bappo uq ax balw eai ax ulx vaxozupu." It would seem you're being offered a formal invitation. Fischl's gaze flickers to you, and you dip your head cautiously. She gives him a dignified nod, and Noelle waves you forward when he turns and starts walking. The others fall into step behind you.
When you get to the wooden platform, the man heads left toward the elevator. You pause. It took you forever to get the commissions to fix the stairs, so you're damn proud of them. But if no one's going to use them, what was even the point?
So be it. You'll use them, if no one else will.
You extend a finger in that direction and tip your head to your companions, indicating you want to go that way. They look at each other, shrug, and nod amicably. Everyone changes their course to see the fruits of your (aka the traveler's) labor; but as you reach the bottom step, you notice Bennett hanging back warily. "What is it?"
"Sa... ykxknz no mtorogx tu ktu kjoy," he says, licking his lips nervously. "Zo yquur jtoq lu- I zyap qtonz- zo znmos kh xkzzkh xul me uz kqgz knz xuzgbkrk yonz ksoz, gngn. Sorry." He points apologetically to himself, and then in the direction the other man disappeared. You're confused. He wants to take the elevator? Everyone else looks like they understand his request immediately, though, so you give him a nod.
Fischl falls back as well. "To zgnz kygi, enz toyykftoxv rrgny etgvsuiig aue to knz ztkbk lu... skng... tkkykxulta ykitgzysaixoi." She puts a hand on his shoulder and gives you a wave as the two of them round the corner, disappearing from sight.
Well... alright then. Their actions strike you as a bit strange without further context, but you assume they have their reasons. Even if they're just tired from walking the whole day, that's good enough for you.
You turn back around. Noelle gives you a supportive smile, and Amber gestures eagerly, already climbing the steps. The three of you set a leisurely pace, stopping to lean against the railing and admire the new view every time you round a corner. Mondstadt is no less scenic, but it’s full of rolling hills; Wangshu Inn is perfectly positioned between the flat marsh and the plains, providing a rare and spectacular view of nearly all of Liyue. Amber is enthralled by the floating Statue of the Seven in the distance, pointing and gawking in excitement. Meanwhile, Noelle seems content to simply enjoy the way the sunlight glints off the water as the first autumn leaves flutter past.
...Autumn.
You shake your head. Think about something else. Think about... think about Xiao. The thought spurs you on. Wangshu Inn might be a convenient place to spend the night, but you didn't come all this way to not see the yaksha. In fact, you'd been privately hoping to stop here for that very reason. With renewed vigor, you urge your companions onward, taking the steps two at a time in an effort to leave your less-than-pleasant thoughts behind you.
In no time at all, you reach the landing, and you round the corner without stopping, ignoring the gaping passerby and giving a wave to an unfazed Verr Goldet as you continue up to the second balcony. Your excitement grows with every step. If your friendship level theory is correct - as it seems to be - you should be able to understand Xiao better than anyone else you've encountered so far.
...In fact, being who he was, he'd probably know you were coming, wouldn't he? Do you dare to hope that he might be... waiting for you? You put on a burst of speed, stumbling up the last couple steps. And, sure enough, standing by the overlook waiting for you is-
-no one. But up on the roof-
...also no one.
In your dreams, a voice taunts in your head.
This is just not your day.
You purse your lips, reluctant to give up so quickly. There's still one option. Should I call him?
You don't get time to think about it. Amber and Noelle finish pounding up the last flight of stairs behind you, looking mildly winded from the sudden exertion. "Xaue kigxm-" Noelle starts, but doesn't get any further before Oz swoops over the balcony.
"Toks tokragxl ygn ztky ks uz sxulto aue zgnz knz xuzgbkrk yo qiazy," he says calmly. "Kny yegy, jtg o kzuaw, 'yg jkzikvdk'."
This draws a sigh from both of them. Amber brings a dismayed hand to her forehead. "Qig, kc kxkc zyap zauhg kaj xul mtonzksuy kqor yonz, ztkxkc kc? Zo kxay ztjoj kqgz mtur xul yon jgh qiar uz qioq to kitu kn jkzgxgvky suxl xoknz kigxm."
"Xuuv zzkttkh," Noelle says sympathetically. "Rro zkr knz xkvkkqtto cutq yzgnc jktkvvgn, aue kkxnz um qikni tu sknz." Amber nods and takes your hand. With some disappointment (which you do your best to hide), you allow her to guide you back down the stairs at a brisk pace, with Oz leading the way. This time, you cut straight through the inn and onto the opposite side of the landing, where the elevator and the teleport waypoint are.
Where the elevator should be, anyway.
Amber lets go of your hand and leans over the railing. "Kxg aue yeam znmoxrg?!" she shouts down.
You hear Bennett's awkward laughter as you peer over behind her, and you're alarmed by what you see. The elevator is stalled, dangling halfway between the two platforms. Even further down, the man who greeted you appears to be frantically checking over some sort of pulley system. Immediately, your eyes dart to the rigging at the top. Fortunately, nothing looks like it's about to snap... for now.
"Ztuj exxuc, yonz yo zyap xknzutg egj to knz klor lu tg xkxaztkbjg!" Bennett calls back up. He gives you both a thumbs up through the open doorway, though you notice he's otherwise pressed snuggly into a corner, looking cheerful as ever but not taking any chances. Fischl has made herself comfortable leaning against one of the walls, seeming almost bored with the whole affair. Justifiable, since you can only imagine how many times she's been through something like this. Oz glides back down to join his mistress.
"Ykrrkut mtozzkm knz xkvkkqtto," Amber responds. "So gttum qikni knz mtommox - o qtonz o kky mtonzksuy jkmmgty to kxknz." She gestures for you to stand back near the waypoint before shimmying up a post and beginning to fiddle with something out of your range of sight.
You do as she says, absently running your fingers over the waypoint as you look on uselessly. It's yet another instance where you can do nothing, and you're reminded again of just how much dead weight you are. It's beyond frustrating, and all the more so now that your golden blood has been revealed to you. What you thought would be a blessing is now seeming like a curse in disguise. Being a weak human mistaken for a god is one thing, but being a weak god? Why can't you do anything? Ugh, at least if these teleport points actually worked like they were supposed to, you wouldn't have to bother people with the mundane task of escorting you, if nothing else!
......Actually, wait a minute.
Do the waypoints work like in the game? When you cool your head a bit, you suddenly realize you haven't tried. Excluding the statue at Windrise, you haven't been this near to any until now - at least that you were paying attention to at the time.
You don't have the map, of course, but maybe you can just... think really hard about where you want to go? It's worth a shot. Best case scenario, you wind up exactly where you want to go. Worst case, it only works for the traveler (or as a game mechanic) and nothing happens. Either way, there's no harm in trying. If it works, you can just come right back and inform everyone.
You reach up to press your hand against the floating device. It's higher off the ground than it looked in the game but still easily within reach. The bluish material has an odd feel to it, one you're not quite sure how to describe. Magical, perhaps. The waypoint pulses with energy, and you feel confident it has to do something.
I want to go to Liyue Harbor, you think to yourself, trying to picture it in your mind's eye.
Nothing happens, but you're undeterred. Maybe you need to say it out loud. "Take me to Liyue Harbor," you say firmly, visualizing the overlook by the waypoint just outside the city.
...Still nothing.
You let your hand slide to the bottom in disappointment. This really isn't your day. First the ominous dreams... then I touch a slime and end up nearly fainting for some reason... and after that, I want to see Xiao, but he's not here, of course... and now all of this. What does it take for something to go my way, for once?!
And then everything goes white.

Hi! I hope this ask goes through, my asks often seem to not go through for some reason, but I have request!
Can you please please please write more flirty, villian, creator!reader? The concept is amazing and I love it
I would be the most delighted to do this.
Part 1 [Mondstadt]
~`•°☆★☆★☆★☆★☆°•`~
The colors of who is talking will be based on the elements. Although for dendro and anemo, both will be green but Anemo is bolder. Same with cryo and hydro. Ex: Anemo Dendro. Cryo hydro
And your talking thingy is bold.
And also for the traveler ima use they/them because your traveler could be lumine or aether. So idk.
Note: Sorry if you wanted to continue the thing, Ima just do a separate one. Because that post was a flop. I bet you won't read the whole thing and read without skipping a line, MWAHAHAH >:]
Spoilers for this post, the dead people are gonna be revived because I say so. This is gonna be a happy day, alright. I ain't using angst to ruin it
——
The traveler always faced many dangers, hilichurls, mechanics, a dragon, to a false God.
But nothing compared to you. It felt like their soul was quivering. Every time they went into a nation, they always felt eyes on them. They waited for you to make a move to attack them, but it never came. Why were you watching them?
In every region, there was always a commission where this flirty imposter was running around making a mess. This was the only commission they couldn't do. They could never catch you! And even if you were there, talking to them. You somehow escape from their grasp. Just what are you? Who are you.
They only knew you were just a kind of imposter of Teyvat Creator. There was always a bounty on your head in each nation! Even a village has one. Every time they asked the archons, they just looked away, flustered, and didn't even answer the question. Always changing the subject and when they do awnser, the archons always say that you are a trouble maker. Of course, beside Nahida. The things she said about you didn't really match up with other people, said.
"I had no thoughts of them being bad. Even now, when I meet them. They always bring me flowers and share interesting stories, even from other worlds. They visited me even when I was imprisoned. They were the only thing that kept me not giving up on hope."
Nahida says while smiling.
"They always play with me and swing with me. They aren't bad. Although they are full with mysteries.......why you say traveler? Well, I tried finding information with irminsul, but the only information about them were locked up."
Now the traveler was more cunfused. Irminsul has little information about you, but it was locked? He looked around for more, but when he did, his view of you changed. The citizens who told you were horrible but did many wrong things. Which in the end when they found out, were arrested. The citizens who didn't do any wrongs told them many great things from you.
They decided to go to each nation and stay for a few weeks and see what you do to see if there was a pattern so they could meet you. First was Mondstadt. They were sitting at the usual place while paimon was ordering.
Until they saw Kaeya and Diluc coming towards them. Were they...talking without fighting?
"Hello traveler, mind if we join you? Of course we'll be paying for our own meals."
Then the traveler saw Venti coming along, asking the same thing. Surprisingly, he had mora to pay, unlike for his drinks—
The traveler agreed to let them join, and they started ordering too. Although some people might not have noticed but their ears were red. Why?
Flashback:
"Kaeya, get out. Im already closed.."
"Aww, come on, Diluc! Just one more, hm? And plus, technically, you aren't. Just close to."
(Close to making Diluc beating your ass—)
*ding* [bell from the door rang]
Diluc and kaeya turned their head to see a person with a strange looking cloak on?
"Well, who do we have here? You look quite suspicious, don't you think?" Kaeya chuckles as he looks at you."
"Yeah, yeah. I do, but I can assure you, I am no threat." You put your hands in the air and waved as a sign that you mean no danger.
Diluc just scowled at you and just continued to clean the glass.
"Hmm, can I have a dandelion wine? Also, some grape juice to go?"
Diluc just looked at you dumb founded. But still did the drink for to go even though he's supposed to be closed. He put the grape juice in a bottle and then gave you dandelion wine. You paid him in a bag of mora, then you asked if you could see how much mora does Venti owed him. Diluc just looks at you, then said the price. Was quite high, but you still paid. He was cunfused and asked why you were paying for that drunkard bard.
You just shrugged. Kaeya jokingly asked you to pay for him, too. But you actually did. He was baffled. He looked away in a different direction and continued drinking. It was quiet but not really awkward, more peaceful than awkward. Diluc was annoyed at you two for flirting with each other, but Kaeya got the most flustered <3 although...Diluc felt something he thought he would never feel for you, a stranger. Jealously
hours later,,
(Yes, I know quite well about Diluc because I know as heck he will kick kaeya and you out if you stayed for more hours.)
Kaeya was absolutely drunk. You continued paying for him to drink, and he didn't want to be rude, so he just continued drinking, drinking, and drinking....just how many mora do you have?!
Diluc mentally slapped his forehead but enjoyed this little scene. At least he could enjoy knowing that kaeya would get scolded and have a very bad headache. You put something in his pockets, and Diluc quickly grabbed your wrist. He asked you what you put in Kaeya's pockets with a glare that could scare a soldier off. You took it out, and he examined it. It seems like it was just hangout medicine. He gave it back and quietly apologized.
You continued talking to him but then kaeya woke up. You always saw a wall between their relationship, and you want to break it, so you did. You may or may not have used magic to make Kaeya say some things. You excused yourself and got out. You leaned onto the wall and waited.
*20-30 minutes later*
You finally peeked inside and saw them hugging, kaeya sobbing and Diluc tearing up. You smiled and tried to walk out until you saw Venti. He was drunk, don't know how.
You heard Diluc opening the door. You quickly picked up Venti and hid somewhere.
Diluc has Kaeya arm over him as he drags him to his house. You watched them go, although you flinched as Venti squeezed your chest. [I know, in the sagau idea, he slapped your ass. But I'm ain't doing it]
You looked at him as he giggled. He definitely drank too much. You thought.
"Ehe....why don't you join me~?"
You were holding back so much on your actions that were about to be done to this man. He tugged your clothing that was covering you to not alert anyone that you were the 'imposter'
You quickly got a room for him, and thank god no one was around because Venti almost got your disguise off. You gently put him on the bed. You looked back at his face and saw him flustered. You were cunfused. Why was he so red?
"I-....are we doing this right now?"
He looked away, blushing. Suddenly, it clicked.
he thought you were gonna *censored* him? (Pretend I didn't just say this, shshhhshsh)
He thought you were gonna 'sleep' with him?? You chuckled and tucked him to bed and softly ran your hand through his hair, slowly un-doing his braids. He became more flustered for thinking you were gonna do 'it' with him.
His eyes felt heavy as he slowly drifted to sleep. The next morning, he saw a letter and a bottle of hangout medicine. With a cup of water. He quickly drank down the medicine as his headache got better. He reads the paper,
Hello Venti
Please do not over drink, firstly because of your health and lastly you were so drunk and were clinging to me. I had to get you a room because you were trying to take my clothes off.
From your dear 'imposter'
He crumbled the paper and looked down, blushing hard. He remembers what he was thinking and doing. Although it felt nice and peaceful when you ran your hand through his hair...wait, what was he thinking?! You're the imposter for archon's sake!
He looked around and saw a bag of mora. There was a small paper that said "for venti"
I guess he appreciated the mora.....
*end of flashback*
The traveler had a nice talk with them as paimon just continued eating all the food.
Soon, the chat ended, and they said their goodbyes. He went to the church and wanted to see how things were there. They were surprised to see Amber, Jean, Barbara, Lisa, Noelle, and Eula. They decided to listen to their conversation while they gave Paimon some mora for her food.
"People are reporting to see the 'imposter' taking hillichurls into a portal, and this is getting out of hand. Does anyone know how to catch the 'imposter?'"
Everyone shook their head. Some lowered their head in shame and guilt. Jean sighed. Amber raised her hand,,
"Well, the last time we got reported by this, we went there and found a paper that seemed to be written by the 'imposter'. It said that they know we are trying to track them down and won't be successful. Also, they said that they are just taking to the abyss and getting rid of the curse.."
Jean nodded at the information.
"Did any of you...encounter anything strange, perhaps?"
"Hmm, now I think about it. People always kept losing the books, but lately, they've been returned nice and neat. I also remember that some of the lost books got one of the page ripped but the book got returned and that page was stitched back and with the 'imposter's' hand writing saying the exact thing on the page."
"My bunny got damaged and got lost into the ocean. When I came back, there was my bunny on the table, stitched up and all dry. There was also a paper heart."
"I heard a song/music with a humming similar to the 'imposter's' voice and when I went in, nothing was there. I only found the lyre was all patched and fixed as if nothing even scratched it!"
"I got injured in a battle, and when I woke up, I was patched up in a tent. I saw the 'imposter' standing before me, I tried attacking, but they disappeared into the air."
"I was also in a battle, I was about to get hit, but something blocked the attack, and the ruin guard was smashed into pieces."
"I see...is this perhaps the 'imposter's' doing? If yes, then why....what is their goal?"
Everyone asked what strange thing happened to Jean.
"Ah...well, i had to go somewhere, and when I went back to the office, my papers were all done correctly."
Jean looked away a little flustered. The traveler left since it was the end of the conversation they were eavesdropping to. Paimon came back feeling full from the food she ate. They both went to the forest and saw Bennett sitting without a scratch and Bennett was smiling so happily.
Paimon asked what Bennett was so happy about.
"Ah, me? Well, I think my bad luck is going away! No hilichurls were going after us at night, no tripping, no choking on food, and—"
Traveler was surprised at least since there was no offense. He literally has pretty much no good luck. After Bennett finished talking, he looked around and panicked. Paimon asked what was wrong, as Bennett explained Razor was missing. Fischl came back with some food and asked why you guys were panicking. Bennett quickly explained to her that Razor was missing, but she softly chuckled and pointed to the path.
"What do you mean? He's over there with this hooded person. Idk why, but their cloak look like it's vaporizing."
They went with fischl as she led them to the place. They see a person petting razor as he lays on their lap. The traveler knew this was the 'imposter' and tried to snatch Razor quickly, but Razor was un-willing and hugged the unknown person closer. As the traveler and the others saw the 'imposter' chuckled then turns into loud laughter. As Razor snuggled more onto the 'imposter'
They suddenly disappeared into thin air. Before the 'imposter' (you) left, he saw your strange cloak have an image of dragonspine. He quickly said their goodbyes to Bennett, fischl, and Razor. Paimon didn't want to go into the cold but gave the Traveler some warm food she bought and soon to be waiting in the room they rented.
They went to dragonspine at the path they saw Rosaria smiling....wait, smiling? Rosaria quickly saw the Traveler and fixed her posture. She walked away with an item.
[It was a hand warmer for her to use given by you. Explanation: she didn't really join the hunt to find you, so she just left you alone unless she was ordered/asked to hunt you down. While in dragonspine, she saw you and tried reaching to you yntil you stepped back. Then you gave her a bag then left. Although suspicious, she opened it, seeing a hand warmer and a letter saying it was for her, and you don't want her to catch a cold.]
Traveler continued walking the path, going into Albedo's lab. They see him and Klee as Albedo sits with klee as she drew something. The traveler greeted them with a smile as Albedo and Klee returned it. The traveler asked what was going on as Albedo explained that a mysterious person with a black cloak gave her a paper of how to build safety bombs. Klee ran to Albedo [big brother because I say so. It's now fan Canon, and I am proud of it. >:) ]
and Albedo is strangely not asking why.
[You are friends with him, heh. He knows you are the creator since you have already proven him, but honestly, you didn't know how. He never told anyone because he wants you for himself. You may or may have flirted with him, but he didn't understand—]
Anyway Traveler asked them if they had seen the 'imposter.' they said no. Traveler sighed, disappointed they went back to the room where Paimon is, welcoming them back. The traveler told Paimon there is one last place they could look for to find them.
The cat's tail. They went in and saw Diona almost in tears behind a person, the 'imposter.' You were defending her from this drunk guy
"I am this f—cking close to beating the sh—t out of you. Ugly a$$ mother fu—"
But your fingers were touching...yeah you made him go to the celestials, "infinity and beyond!"
Diona hugged the stranger (you) as you comforted her, giving some candy which she declined with a pout. You disappeared into air as the Traveler and Paimon tried to get closer.
"Dang it! We were so close!" [Paimon]
The traveler sighed as they asked if Diona was ok. She was but closed the cats tail. As the Traveler went outside, they saw Mona. They quickly ran to her and tiredly asked her to look into the 'imposter'. As Mona tried, she opened her eyes and fell down. Although there was strangely a pillow landing her impact of the fall. The Traveler asked what happened as Paimon began to panick. Mona quickly said that she couldn't reveal..seems like she knows something
The traveler went back to the room, disappointed. Suddenly a note fell through the opened window.
"Hello outlander Traveler.
I heard you are finding me, so I am here to tell you I am going to Liyue. I know you are wondering, "why is this bi— I mean 'imposter' telling me this?" Well I would like to play this little game with you of trying to catch me. I hope you succeed!
From 'imposter'
Welp. The next stop is Liyue!

kaeya
about us: the traveller
i must say, i was rather surprised that the traveller was the first one chosen to be a vessel — at first i had assumed it was merely because of their status as an outlander, but now…. well, last i checked, i was from teyvat.
about us: the creator
friendship lv. 4
sometimes i wonder why vessels are even utilized at all, in truth. i mean, what use does the divine have for a mortal man? i understand it’s not my place to question it, but… *sigh*
about you: worship
friendship lv. 6
thank you. truly, thank you. i’m not sure words could describe everything i feel, but… perhaps a night at the altar would suffice? please, just say the word. i will be there. for you.
thoma
about us: the traveller
the traveller? … they’ve done a lot of good for inazuma, that’s for sure, along with the other nations. i’m a bit intrigued about the teapot they always carry around, but milady says it’s some kind of important artifact… either way, i’m certainly curious!
about us: the creator
friendship lv. 4
sometimes it hits me just how lucky i was to make it to inazuma after the storm, and how easily i could have died at sea, never to be seen again… whenever that happens, i find its best not to think about it. i was blessed by the creator, and thinking over why i received it won’t get me anywhere.
about you: worship
friendship lv. 6
while i’m not sure what use my housekeeping skills would be to you, i place every other talent i have at your disposal. whether my sword or my shield, or even just to be somebody to talk to, i would happily accept any task you give me. it would be an honor to serve you.
diluc
about us: the traveller
i have little to say about the traveller that hasn’t already been said. while at first i may have thought their kindness was only wrought from the hands of a god… i can see now that i was wrong, and that is what truly matters.
about us: the creator
friendship lv. 4
when the winds blow hard around the winery and rain pelts the windows… it’s easy to forget everything good in the world. it’s easy to slip into a mindset of helplessness, when even going outside feels forbidden by nature… nonetheless, it’s important to recognize the fault in that belief. rain nourishes the earth, and wind drives windmills. even i have to remind myself of this fact on occasion.
about you: worship
friendship lv. 6
it would be a lie to say that i don’t hold any influence over mondstat, but it wouldn’t be to say that you take priority over any project i have my hands on. whether it’s in the middle of the weinlesefest, or the peak of the summer season, please never hesitate to come to me for anything. you gave me everything i have, and i’d be a fool not to try and return the offer in whatever way i can.
bonus!!
noelle
about the creator: diligence
the creator? o-of course i follow them! what gave you the impression that i didn’t? oh, am i not doing enough? i always dust the shrine at the knights’ headquarters, i say my prayers before bedtime and every meal, i never miss a service at the cathedral… tell me, what am i missing? the last thing i want is to fail at my most important task—… of course it’s most important! being a maid comes secondary to the divine, as everything else does.
candace
about the creator: deserted
it’s easy to think that the desert is neglected by the divine, but i believe the opposite is true. were we truly abandoned, we wouldn’t have the oases, nor the henna berries, nor anything else that brought life forth and helped it thrive. if you ask me, the belief that the desert was forgotten about is what drove the akademiya to such extremes… *sigh* it’s such a pity.

Noelle was a dutiful girl and a dutiful vision holder. She trained hard to be a full-fledged knight one day. This was why she received her geo vision, for being dutiful, disciplined, and passionate about her dream. Her dream is to become a Knight of Favonius.
There was a time when she had been a bit bitter, bitter that the Acting Grandmaster Jean wouldn't promote her. She had been a maid for a long time, but others were taken in much faster than her. But then she had to stop herself; it was not her task to question her superior.
She fully threw herself into her work, training harder to be better, to get stronger. She could already lift and swing her claymore with much more force and ease. Taking notes from Jean, she learned how to infuse her blade with geo, her swings now even doing more damage.
And while she was proud of her own growth, she knew she could get stronger. She felt it in her bones; she was made to be strong. Strong and steady like a stone.
She threw herself into training and didn't notice anything abnormal at first. But then her growth in strength and power didn't stop; it became more and more. Others could carry one or two crates and were often struggling, while she could carry three of them with ease. Her claymore became even lighter in her grip, something she didn't think was possible.
She had started with a Favonius Greatsword. Only a few knights could swing and fight with said weapon with ease. But her sword became too light and she started struggling while fighting or training. This is why she commissioned a new blade, Whiteblind. And while her new claymore was heavier, she could still lift it without any problems.
Noelle knew she was strong, her muscles showed that. But this strong? And as if all of this wasn't already enough, her geo attacks were much stronger too.
After she finally realized something was not quite right, she first suspected a blessing from Barbatos. Yet it wasn't Barbatos' voice that spoke to her; no, it was the voice of another.
Another person, much more powerful, granting her more than just simple strength or a bit more control over her geo vision.
And while she didn't know the godly person behind the voice, which was always speaking to her, she was thankful and did her duty once again. That meant praying and thanking the voice- which she did gladly and still does.

THANK YOU FOR ALMOST 3K FOLLOWERS since so many people liked Say My Name part one, I hope this is an adequate Part Two and that everyone will enjoy it! I hope this will convey just how much all of you mean to me
Warnings: Cult-ish behaviors (not directed towards reader) fluff!!!!!
Characters: Venti, Bennett, Fischl, Oz, Noelle
Words: 8.2k
"It's the second time the both of us have broken into a church before, so we should be good." You muttered to Venti.
"You've broken into a-" He was cut off as you slapped your hand over his mouth, pulling him into your chest.
The two of you stopped breathing as footsteps resounded in the empty church, Barbara finally leaving with a yawn. She sent a longing look to the shrine, her blue eyes swimming with emotions that could swallow you deep into the sea.
You pursed your lips, unconsciously holding onto Venti tighter. Yet another affirmation that you did not want to get labeled as a god.
The large doors shut with a boom. Even still you and Venti remained still as statues, shallow breaths and rapid heart beats the only sign of life in the church,
After about a minute of sitting there in baited breath, Venti wiggled out of your grip. He did a once over of the church before gliding down from your spot perched on the rafters.
"Vent-!" You nearly shouted but cut yourself off, "Dumbass bard." You whispered under your breath, but you couldn't help the affectionate smile tugging at your lips.
Venti looked back up at you innocently, and then the smile was wiped off his face as he realized the same thing you had. You’re stuck.
It came back as soon as it disappeared though, a soft giggle escaping his throat. He held out his arms, "Jump." He mouthed.
"What? No." You whisper yelled back.
He pouted, "Trust me! I'll catch you!" He whisper screamed right back up at you.
"Nah man you're tripping ain't no way I'm trusting those skinny ass arms to catch me." You dangled your feet down, glaring down at the bard with his outrageous plan.
Venti huffed, "(Y/n), I'm the god of wind I'll catch you. Fall before I push you."
"If you push me so help me god-" You pulled your feet back up onto the rafter with you, but a soft gush of wind off put your balance and you fell backwards right off the rafter.
You swallowed the scream that tempted to tear through your throat, the only thought going through your head was that you were gonna beat that damn bard.
"See?" Venti huffed as you gently fell into his arms, "I caught you." He giggled charmingly.
You crossed your arms, unimpressed, "Your arms are shaking-"
He dropped you without a moment’s hesitation and sighed, “Ah, you’re right, that feels better.”
It took everything in you to not shout at him, but the glare you gave him was enough to kill.
He opted to look away from you, "Come on," He whispered, giggling nervously, scurrying away from you.
Sadly, you couldn't be mad at him forever, a lighthearted grin lighting up your face as you went after him. He was a charming bard after all, even if he was annoying.
When you caught up to him, your jaw hit the floor. In front of the two of you was a mound of expensive items and luxurious food.
“There’s so much…” You whispered in awe.
Venti nodded, “All for our god. The all-powerful and gracious (Y/n).” He smiled wistfully. It sent an unpleasant chill down your spine at how rehearsed he sounded.
"Eating this would be a bad idea," you changed the topic, pointing at a sweet dish on the offering table.
"It would be," Venti agreed, eyeing your wandering hand, "So don't do it."
You put your hand back at your side with a pout, your eyes drifting over to the other items (that weren't edible).
It was all quite extravagant and unnerving. They dedicated so much to this god of theirs even though they were never present. Or… perhaps you should be saying: since you were never present…though you had no wish to be bestowed with the title of god.
If… if they worshiped them (you) like this… how would they react when they realized you are this god they so love?
You were snapped out of your spiraling thoughts by Venti tugging on your sleeve.
He presented a bouquet of flowers to you with a sly smile, "For you, my liege."
You blinked at the pretty bouquet with many different types of flowers before a wide smile broke out across your face, "Thank you, Venti." You grabbed it gently, gently touching the petals, "There's flowers from different nations here… they traveled a long way for this bouquet…"
Admittedly, the thought frightened you. Despite the gift being fairly simple, it must've taken forever to put together for a regular person. To collect flowers from many nations just for you. Despite yourself, a frown tugged on your lips.
Venti noticed your frown, his own smile dying down because of it. "The Church of Favonius is probably the most prolific church, and are known to be the most devout to y- the god."
Your brows drew together and you softly sighed, "I can't stay in Mondstadt then," You muttered.
Venti's eyes widened, "What-" He nearly shouted, "Why?"
Your eyelids fluttered in surprise, a small gasp exiting your throat at his sudden outburst, "…because they're so obsessed with the god." You pursed your lips, you voice dropping even lower, leaning closer to Venti, "If they find out about me everything I'm wanting to avoid will become my constant reality." Fear flickered in your eyes, "There will be nowhere for me to escape."
Venti's blood ran cold at how scared you were, your eyes widened like a frightened deer's at the mere thought of someone knowing about your godhood.
So, despite Venti's objections, he nodded, his eyes downcast, "I understand." He couldn't say more.
You smiled softly, "Thank you Venti." You patted his head and he broke out of his somber mood just as quickly as it had come.
"Come on," Venti grabbed your hand on his head, "We came here to take stuff that's rightfully yours." His voice was dripping with sarcasm, showing that he didn't think the statement was true.
Your heart fluttered unnaturally at his playful grin. You beamed bright enough to alert the whole of Mondstadt you were here, holding his hand tighter.
He didn't see you as a god, and that was the greatest thing in this church. *~
That night the two of you ran away to Windrise, the wind cradling your hair, and your hands cradling each other. You and Venti giggling with armfuls of stolen goods and collapsing under Vanessa's grand tree. Crystalflies fluttering out of the way of your excited forms, and the grass cradling your bodies.
Venti opened up his coat, dumping all of the trinkets the two of you had stolen onto the grass in front of the both of you and you did the same.
"Time to review these!" You clapped your hands together, grinning damn near evilly at your conquest.
Well, not really a conquest, if you thought about it technically.
Venti immediately picked up an instrument, he had been the one to pick it up in the church but hadn't been able to try and play it. His eyes were wide with wonder as he gently held what you recognized to be an ocarina.
He inspected it, and almost as though it was second nature, held it up to his lips and blew.
Unsurprisingly, a pleasant note rang out in the cold night air. The wind settled to let the note ring out without disturbance.
Venti pulled away and looked at you with an excited smile.
"Venti…" You pursed your lips and furrowed your brow in concern.
He frowned like a kicked puppy, "What?" He whined, as though he were about to cry.
You sighed, "You got onto me for wanting to try some of the food… but you didn't clean off the mouthpiece…"
Venti blinked in realization, you could barely see it in the moonlight but a tiny embarrassed blush dusted his cheeks.
"Oops…" He chuckled, using his sleeve to unprofessionally wipe the mouthpiece of germs he probably already had.
You didn't mention it though, you had no room to talk. You had actually snuck a bite of some particularly sweet smelling deserts while he wasn't looking. Though he didn't need to know that.
He continued messing with the ocarina, though he didn't play any more notes.
"We're very suspicious looking with all of this stuff," He reasoned, "Don't want anyone to find us."
You nodded and continued looking through the pile. It was fairly small, most of the offerings were food. However there were some interesting things of note that you and Venti had taken.
The ocarina - which Venti had silently claimed as his own- a fluffy coat, a wooden toy (a puzzle from what you could gather with something jingling around inside), some books, the flower bouquet Venti had presented you, some expensive looking earrings, a burnt and worn down weapon (no longer sharp and poses no threat to anyone), and finally…
You picked up the item, "This is… this is from those things in the chasm."
You inspected the item, carefully tracing over it with your fingers. You gently touched the spot where an eye was missing, your brows furrowed in confusion as to why this was left at a shrine for the god.
Venti leaned over to look at it with you, color draining from his face, his mouth clamped tightly shut. His green eyes colliding with the singular red eye on the statuette.
"Perhaps…" Venti's voice was clammy, "We should've left that at the church."
You hummed, "I think it was wrapped up in the coat or something. We were too high on the adrenaline rush to notice I guess." You shrugged, "It's fine, it's just a statuette." You carelessly set it down, though you did give it some distance from Venti. Poor thing looked like he'd seen a ghost.
Venti hummed, tearing his gaze away from the statuette.
You tilted your head, placing a careful hand on his shoulder, "Hey, you okay? I can put it somewhere else if you don't wanna see it?"
Venti looked at you with wide doe eyes, and you could've sworn they looked a bit glassy. Nonetheless he shook his head, his usual bright smile lighting up the night, "No, I'll be fine."
His smile was contagious and despite the anxious feeling in your stomach, you smiled back at him and let it be.
Venti picked up the wooden puzzle while you inspected the books. He shook the puzzle around, listening for what might be inside. Meanwhile you opened up the first book on the pile.
… You understood none of it.
You pouted, "Venti, do you know what this is? I can't read it."
Venti blinked, puzzled, "You can't read it?" He scooted closer to look at the text.
You shook your head.
Venti frowned and set the puzzle aside, grabbing the book to look at the cover.
A grin broke out on his face, a small chuckle passing his lips, "This is: New Chronicles of the Six Kitsune. Published by Yae Publishing House." He tilted his head with a curious grin, "Wonder how it got all the way here. The Sakoku Decree was only just lifted."
You snorted in laughter, "Perhaps the Yae Publishing House are doubling down on marketing now that the borders have opened up. Wouldn't surprise me with the sly kitsune running the place."
"You know the Guuji of the Narukami shrine?" Venti tilted his head, "Or perhaps I shouldn't be too surprised." He flipped through the pages with a sly grin, his eyes gleaming in mischief, "Would you like me to read this to you as a bedtime story?"
You scoffed, playfully pushing his head away, "Yeah right, 'in your dreams'." You mocked said Guuji of the shrine.
Sadly, the joke flew right over Venti's head.
He pouted sadly, shutting the book with a sigh, "If you insist. What are the other two books?" He inquired, picking them up after setting the other book down.
You looked over his shoulder, able to recognize one of the covers but not the other.
"Flowers for Princess Fischl," Venti said with a grin matching your own, "And…" His grin fell. He hummed, "Toki Alley Tales… never heard of that one before."
"Toki Alley Tales?" You echoed, gently grabbing the book from his hand.
"Yeah, have you heard of it before?" Venti asked, watching as you gently opened it up.
Your eyes fluttered in surprise.
"That's… odd…" Your brows furrowed.
"What is?" Venti questioned, glancing at the words in the book, "Oh…"
"This is my mother tongue." You flipped through the pages. They were all there, "And the pages of Toki Alley Tales are scattered all throughout Inazuma. There's no way they'd be in this pristine of condition…" You trailed off.
"So…" Venti sat by your side, looking over your shoulder at the words he couldn't understand, "Someone translated the entire book of Toki Alley Tales… for you?"
"I…" You swallowed the lump in your throat, "No way. No one in Teyvat knows my native language… right?" You turned to look at him, confusion and a twinge of fear in your orbs.
Venti frowned, "I… don't know… I don't recognize this and it's not one of the major languages of Teyvat. I don't know anyone that would know this… except… maybe…"
"Except?" You urged him to continue.
"Well…" Venti looked away in thought, "Maybe the traveler… since they're from another world."
You paused, turning the thought over in your head. "That… that would make sense." You put your hand up to your mouth, staring at the pages you understood with perfect clarity, "They're the only one that would have access to the pages we collected."
"Wait so," Venti tore his gaze away from the puzzling pages to look at you, "Does this mean that the Traveler knows you're here?"
You paused, the thought striking you hard. Before you shook your head, "No… no probably not. They translated the whole thing in less than a day and- and how would they even know I'm here?"
Venti frowned, "True I guess, though there's not really any other explanation."
You roughly sighed, shutting the book and setting it aside, "My brain's starting to hurt. Why must Teyvat be so complicated."
Venti giggled, "That's what I've been saying for the past millennium…" He sighed, "And everyone wonders why I'm such a drunkard." He yawned, his momentary somberness disappearing like the wind, "It's too late for this. I'm going to bed. You should too, (Y/n)."
You hummed, standing up and stretching.
"Oh! Hey! We could use this coat as a blanket!" You exclaimed, picking up the large and fluffy fabric, "It's as big as one anyways."
"We?" Venti echoed.
You nodded, "If you're okay with sharing that is."
Venti grinned, his embarrassment only lasting a moment, "Of course! Can't let you have it all to yourself! Although…" Venti placed his hands on his hips, staring down at the pile the two of you had created, "Where are we gonna put all this?"
"Uh…" You stared down at it blankly, the fluffy coat bundled in your arms "Good question…"
The two of you ended up hiding the items at the beach nearby. Far enough so if someone were to find them they wouldn't immediately attribute it to you two, but close enough to keep an eye on.
Meanwhile, the two of you slept up in the tree of Windrise. It was comfortable, you and Venti had ended up tangled in each other's arms with a large fluffy coat shielding the two of you from the cold air. Despite not having an actual bed, it was possibly some of the best sleep you'd ever gotten.
*~
That morning, though, was not so great. The two of you went to go check on the stuff you had stolen taken as soon as you had woken up… only to find it all gone.
"What!" You shouted, searching the beach up and down, "Who- who-" You covered your face with the fluffy coat and screamed into it.
Venti was not much better, his and your form covered in sand, your faces red hot from the sun and anger.
Venti huffed, "Let's just go back." He sighed dejectedly, crossing his arms, "Some of those items were so cool!"
"They took the ocarina and the puzzle you were messing with…" You gasped, "They took the Toki Alley Tales! Shit!" You cursed, clenching your fists, "Who did this?"
Venti pursed his lips, "I'd assume treasure hoarders, they're always looking for something that's not theirs to take." He paused, "Though I suppose we have no room to talk."
You sighed roughly, "I don't really care about most of the items, but the Toki Alley Tales is important. Only the Traveler has a copy of it, I don't want it to land in the wrong hands." You buried your head in your hands, "This was a stupid idea."
Venti frowned, and was silent for a moment, "I won't deny the fact that it wasn't the best idea, and I certainly didn't help." He sighed, "That's my own fault. Despite everything you had said when you…" His eyes met yours, overflowing with centuries of built up emotion kept well hidden, "When I saw you… I could see no one but Teyvat's god and the one who had treated me so well. So I followed blindly in your irrational decisions and I apologize for letting things get out of hand.” He didn’t meet your eyes, his arms crossed uncomfortably, “Sorry this has been bothering me all night I just didn’t wanna talk about it… but it seems I have to.” He sighed, “You need to choose. Right now.”
You lifted your head to look at him, "What do you mean?"
"Things have gone too far.” He still didn’t meet your eyes despite yours desperatly seeking the emotions in his, “You wanted to steal things from the church because you were in a state of shock and you said that the things belonged to you so it'd be fine if you took them. Yet you don't want to be god." Venti frowned, "Right now, you need to decide: are you Teyvat's god or not? That way nothing will ever get this out of hand again, and I can treat you the way you want to.”
The question escaped your lips without a moment's hesitation, "I'm not."
Venti smiled and patted your shoulder, "Thought you'd say that. Again, I’m sorry for allowing your heightened state last night to fester and cause us all this trouble.” He grinned mischievously, “But since you said that, we didn't take the items, because they don't belong to you.Someone else must've taken them from the church. We'll go back to Mondstadt and pretend we know about nothing once we get there, and then we'll do nothing like this again. Okay?”
You slowly nodded, the full weight of his words hitting you. You sucked in a breath to keep the emotions in, "Okay. But what do we do about the coat?" You gestured over to where you had set it in a tree, your hands clammy despite his cheerful expression.
Venti hummed, his hand on his chin, "Hm, we could throw it somewhere, say whoever took it must've dropped it."
You nodded, taking the fluffy coat. You gently pressed your face against it one last time, "Goodbye fluffy coat, you were very comfy."
Despite the ache in your heart, you bundled the coat into as tight of a ball as you could and flung it. You weren't sure where it landed, you turned around and pretended you never knew the coat.
Venti grabbed your arm and whisked you away, though it wasn't as fantastical as you'd thought. He jerked you by your arm, wind hit your face at alarming speeds, and then all at once it disappeared leaving you a rugged mess.
You caught your breath, pulling your arm out of his to straighten your clothes and hair. Once you were done cleaning yourself up, you looked around.
You were at the gate that led to Mondstadt, and you noticed on the bridge a very familiar figure. You couldn't help the grin sneaking onto your face.
"Oh dear." Venti put his hands on his hips, frowningly worriedly, "Why are you grinning like that?"
"I'm on my villain arc, Venti."
"Your what?" He blinked dumbfounded.
You didn't answer, only grabbed his hand and sprinted right onto the bridge. And right onto Timmie's birds.
"Hey!" You heard the little boy yell after you two.
"Sorry!" You giggled, running right through the gates of Mondstadt.
The guards let out amused sighs, "Looks like there's another troublemaker in Mondstadt." Lawrence mused, looking after you two.
Meanwhile you had stopped dead in your tracks only a few steps into Mondstadt's gates.
"Hey," Venti squeezed your hand that he was still holding, "You okay?"
You couldn't tear your eyes away from them, but you were glowing with excitement, "Look, it's-"
"Hark! Tis on this sunny day I and my retinue graciously descend from the great palace. Thundering retribution shall befall all those that dare to besmirch this great land! Katheryne! A dear friend of the Immernachtreich, pray tell, what troubles thou's great land."
"Hey Katheryne, what's the commission for today?" Bennett and Katheryne fist bumped, the latter retaining her usual friendly smile.
"Great to see you Prinzessin and Bennett, we have a special commission only top level adventurers can take on. Would you like to hear it?"
"Oh…" Bennett shuffled nervously, "Uh… I don't know about-"
"Oh but of course!" Fischl put a hand on her hip and used the other to gesture grandly, "I and my retinue will be able to handle it with perfect ease! Isn't that right Sir Bennett?"
"O-oh uh- o-of course!" He nervously replied, doing his best to give a good smile… and failing.
Nonetheless, Katheryne continued, "Very well- oh." Her eyes caught onto you and Venti on the sidelines, watching them… kind of creepily. "It seems we have some guests. Would the four of you like to team up? After all this is one very important mission." She beckoned the two of you over and - after a quick glance at Venti - you eagerly joined them, a dumb grin tugging up at your lips.
"We would've normally gotten the traveler on such an important commission such as this one," Katheryne said, "However we couldn't seem to find them anywhere."
"That bad of a commission?" Venti hummed, "What is it? We might be able to help."
Katheryne nodded, "I trust in Y/n's abilities."
Venti gave you an odd look as she said that but Katheryne continued, "Basically, the Church of Favonius has noticed a few items missing from the church." You froze up. "These items were of great importance and were a part of the altar to Their Greatness. The commission is essentially to find these objects and bring them back to the Church. The items missing are an ocarina, a large coat from Snezhnaya, a puzzle from Sumeru, earrings from Liyue made from expensive gemstones, an old weapon from Natlan, a statuette, as well as some books and flowers."
"Oh no, that's real bad." Bennett's face twisted in nervousness, "Are there any leads?"
Katheryne shook her head, "I'm afraid not. However the rewards are hefty, and you're probably the best people for the job. So, will the four of you take it?"
You didn't have to think twice, "I'd love to!"
You saw Venti's curious gaze from the corner of your eyes.
"If Y/n is doing it I'll do it to." He grinned and gently elbowed you, "Hey, maybe you could be my bodyguard."
You scoffed, "Yeah, you'll need it."
"Well then of course your Prinzessin shall rise to the occasion as well and shed some light on this desolate land!" Fischl did a grand sweeping motion.
You gave her a tiny clap to which you swore you saw a sparkle in her eye as she looked at you. Though she quickly composed herself and giggled confidently.
"Of course I'll take the commission as well," Bennett said, "Though I'm not sure how much help I'll be… sorry." He scratched the back of his neck with an apologetic smile.
You patted his back firmly, "Aw come on Benny don't apologize for something you haven't done. Plus, you'll do great. You're really experienced aren't you?"
"W-well… I mean…"
"And even if you weren't, we'd still want you to come along." You grinned and gave him a thumbs up.
He chuckled, "Th-thanks. Oh by the way, how did you know my name?"
Shit! You cursed in your head, meanwhile Venti giggled behind you. You've fucked up again.
"Well, you're a well known adventurer and uh… I uh… heard them say your name." You waved towards Katheryne and Fischl, unsure of who had said his name (or if they even had said his name)
"Oh! I see!" Bennett grinned, placing his hands on his hips, "Well, either way, I'm Bennett, an adventurer here at the adventurer's guild." He held out his hand for you to shake, "The both of you are…?"
"(Y/n)." You shook his hand.
"Venti." He did the same.
Bennett hummed, "Huh, your names sound familiar…" He snapped his fingers, "Oh! Venti the bard! I've heard you by the taverns!"
"(Y/n) as well," Fischl said, "That name is awfully familiar for someone I have supposedly just met."
"Oh well uh…" You faltered, scratching your face nervously.
Oz cut in, "Mein Fräulein, are you not aware? Ever since Lord Barbatos resigned as Mondstadt's archon, the church has majorly been worshiping the now overarching god of Teyvat. The one with a gentle and warm embrace, one you have felt yourself. Their graciousness, (Y/n)."
"Oh! Why of course I remember it, Oz!" Fischl's face dusted with pink, "A prinzessin must know of the land she is visiting."
You chuckled, "Yeah, I was named after them. It's been kind of embarrassing especially while visiting Mondstadt. But still, it's a pleasure to meet you."
"Same goes to thou," Fischl hummed, "From now on thou shall be my… royal secretary!" She snapped, smiling self-content.
You chuckled and bowed, "It'll be an honor to serve you, my lady." You grinned, standing back up.
Fischl was smiling brightly, a stark contrast to her dark and mysterious persona, "Very good!" She clapped her hands, "And then thou shall be-" She turned to Venti, "The bard!" She snickered.
Venti grinned, crossing his arms, "It would be an honor to be royal bard, your highness." He did an extravagant bow, taking off his hat and all.
Fischl was practically glowing and you couldn't help but feel happy at her smile. After all she was just a child at heart.
"Well then, let's head off!" Bennett exclaimed, pumped from the positive atmosphere, a large grin on his face.
"Yeah! Let's go!" You shouted, giggling as the four of you marched out of Mondstadt.
*~
You learned very quickly that Benny's luck was a lot worse and unpredictable than the game had described it. You almost felt offended. This entire time you thought Bennett was just playing it up in his head to be worse than it was.
Nope. His luck was just as bad as he had said.
As soon as your little party had exited the gates of Mondstadt, a pleasant breeze had brushed past all of you… and Bennett had accidentally inhaled some dandelion seeds the wind was carrying along.
Fischl patted his back firmly, without a hint of panic or hesitation.
"Benny?" You floundered around, looking between his red face, Fischl's calm demeanor, Venti's slightly disturbed face, and Oz, "Is he okay?"
"He will be," Fischl said, going around behind Bennett to perform the Heimlich maneuver.
He let out one last good cough before calming down and clearing his throat, "Thank you Fischl," He rasped.
She sighed, but softly smiled, "It's no problem Benny." She clapped her hands, "Now, let us set off my entourage! To recover that which has been so brutally stolen!" Fischl giggled, starting across the bridge.
You and Venti cringed at the same time, sharing a look before giggling.
"Yes, what barbarians." Venti muttered under his breath to you.
You snickered and elbowed him, "Shut up."
The two of you childishly giggled while the others walked ahead.
"Hey," Bennett called back, "We better hurry along if we want to cover more ground. There aren't any leads so we need to be quick."
Fischl nodded, "Yes! We'll need to be as swift as the wind that billows through Mondstadt, and find which ever way the wind leads. That is where we shall begin our journey." She grinned.
"So…" You hummed, "Go whichever way the wind is blowing?"
Bennett shrugged, "Why not? There's no other leads."
The four of you (five including Oz) stopped at the end of the bridge. Fischl and Bennett stood stock still, waiting for a gust of wind.
Ever so slightly, the ends of Venti's hair lit up, and the wind gently blew in the direction of Windrise.
Bennett pointed, "That way it is. Here's to hoping Lord Barbatos hasn't led us astray!" He grinned.
You and Venti shared a look. He grinned, giving you a thumbs up. You frowned.
*~
"Nothing up here!" Venti called down from the top of the Windrise tree, jumping down to join the rest of you at the base.
Fischl sighed, plopping down on one of the roots, "Ugh! We looked everywhere on the way here and then everywhere at Windrise! Maybe the wind led us wrong this time…" She huffed, glaring at the dirt as though it was the cause for all their problems.
"Well the wind has led us wrong before mein Fräulein." Oz comforted her, settling beside her on the root, "We didn't have any leads before anyways. Can Lord Barbatos really lead us wrong when we had no clear destination in the first place?"
"Yes!" She huffed.
Oz sighed and hopped closer to his princess, he extended a wing and patted her back. Her face visibly relaxed at the action and she sighed.
"Right, I'm a prinzessin," She muttered to herself. She sat up straight and cleared her throat, "My retinue! It is in our best interest that we make haste and continue searching." She stood and Oz fluttered onto her shoulder.
"Should we follow the wind again since we don't have any other leads?" You asked.
Fischl thought for a moment and then nodded, "If Lord Barbatos of Mondstadt wishes to guide us with the wind then thee shall follow. It is the unspoken law of such eminent sovereigns such as I."
"It's what the Adventurers at the guild do when there are no leads." Oz said.
Fischl gave him a sideways glare, "Oz…" She pouted.
Bennett took his glove off to reveal a scarred hand, he licked his pointer finger and put it up in the air. Venti hung around your side, looking at Bennett curiously. Ever so slightly, from the corner of your eye, you could see a small glow coming from the ends of his braids.
Bennett snapped his fingers, "It's going that way- ow!" He pointed east, but as soon as he did a rock smacked him in the back of the head. He cradled it and looked around, "Where did that come from?" He shrugged.
You got a massive wave of déjà vu, "Are you okay?"
He waved his hands dismissively, "Oh yeah I'm fine!" He cleared his throat, "Anyways, it's going that way." He pointed there again… right towards the beach where the items had been buried.
"Then let's go! There's no time to waste!" Venti grinned, grabbing your arm and leading you away.
You really hoped "Barbatos" knew what he was doing.
*~
He did not, in fact, know what he was doing.
The five of you - including Oz - arrived upon the beach. Searching everywhere as you went along. By the water, in the sand, until you arrive at the place where the small patches of sand became a beach and the five of you were overlooking an ocean.
Fischl moved a rock in the sand with her foot, "Not it either," She sighed.
Meanwhile Bennett was choking on bits of sand.
"I'm okay!" He gave a tired thumbs up.
None of you were convinced.
Venti was loitering around as usual, casually looking around at a leisurely pace as though this was a nice vacation.
After digging through another patch of sand to no avail, Fischl huffed, "Bard! Are you just going to stand around doing nothing all day?"
"Mein Fräulein! Watch your temper!" Oz said, settling on Fischl's lap.
Fischl instinctively reached up to pet Oz's head. She sighed indignantly, "There's no trails! This commission was a lost cause and a huge waste of time!"
"Hey, Fischl…" You frowned and stepped towards her, but stopped yourself.
"It wasn't a waste of time," Venti said confidentially, "Because you're spending it with people you like. Nothing is a waste of time in the end so long as you're having fun."
"But I'm not having fun." Both of her hands were on Oz now and the raven was silent.
You pursed your lips and carefully approached her, putting your hand on her head gently, "The sun's probably getting to you. It's been tiring today, we should probably rest."
"Yes," Oz said, "That is a wonderful idea." He looked up at his charge, "Mein Fräulein?"
Fischl cleared her throat, "Why yes, a recuperation period during this slow hour of afternoon would be just what the royal court needs. After all, mortals are weak things. This would be most beneficial to you, my retinue." There was an odd lack of her usual exuberance in her tone, and her eyes nor hunched and small posture matched her grandiose words.
You smiled, and gave her a final pat on her head, "Good. You can have some alone time if you want. Just come to us when you're ready to leave or rejoin the group."
Fischl looked up at you with a wide eye. She nodded and remained silent.
You helped her up and she went to separate from the group temporarily with Oz still in her arms-
"Shoot-!" Bennett screamed, being cut off at the end by his face being shoved into sand.
He hoisted himself up, spitting out the sand that got in his mouth.
"Are you okay Bennett?" Venti called out, going over to help the poor boy up.
"Yeah, I think I just tripped on something." He chuckled, dusting himself off.
Venti looked over in the sand and kneeled down to pick it up, "Wait…" He looked over his shoulder and showed everyone what it was, a huge grin on his face, "Lookie here! Weren't we looking for a statuette?"
Fischl gaped, "We were! So we're close!"
Oz cleared his throat.
"Oh- Hark! The clouds part for the sun to beam through! And it is through my and my charges' hands that the first item has been recovered! And where there is one treasure there are bound to be more afoot. Stay alert my retinue, for we shall soon have the church groveling at our feet with thanks!" She giggled, seeming to have brightened up after seeing the item.
Bennett chuckled giddily, pumping his fist into the air, "Let's go!" He cheered, a massive grin on his face.
Venti tossed the statuette up into the air before catching it with a satisfied grin.
You grabbed the item from him playfully, "I don't think you should be the one to hold onto this."
He put his hands on his hips with a pout, "Oh? And where are you going to put it?"
You opened your mouth to respond but realized that… you didn't have a bag. Or that good of pockets. The best you had was your pants pockets but who knows if it'd fall out.
You smacked your lips together and grimaced, not responding.
"I could hold it! I have a bag!" Bennett exclaimed, stars in his eyes.
"Sir Bennett…" Oz said, "With all the care in my heart, I do believe that you would somehow end up losing it…"
Bennett's eyes widened and he deflated, "Oh… Yeah you're right. Sorry I was just over-excited."
"No, you're fine!" You said, "We just don't want you to lose it. If you have a bag I could borrow then I could carry it?"
He hummed and checked his bags, the one with his vision first and then checked the small bag on his back.
He unhooked it, "You can carry this if you want. I'll need it back though, if you don't mind."
"Oh, of course, thank you Bennett!" You smiled as he handed you the bag.
There wasn't much in there from what you could feel, just the map (that you doubted any of you needed), and a few bandages and peroxide. He put the health items into his other bag that had his vision, and helped you tie it so it'd hang off your hip.
"All done." Bennett pulled away, his hands on his hips, "Should be all good to go."
You moved around a bit to make sure it wouldn't fall off, and sure enough it remained attached.
You put the statuette in the bag, "Thank you Bennett!"
"Anytime, (Y/n)!"
"Now! Where to next my motley crew?" Venti clapped his hands and grinned.
The five of you thought for a moment, looking around the area for any clues.
If we found this statuette here… and we had buried it over there… then they should've gone… "Son of a bitch." You muttered.
Venti came up beside you, "Something wrong?" He whispered.
"I think they went towards the cryo regisvine."
He stifled his laughter, "There's no way they're stupid enough to do that. Everyone knows not to go that way."
"Unless they're not from Mondstadt and don't know the area that well." You scowled, your lips pursed in thought.
It clicked in Venti's mind, "Fatui?" He gasped.
You nodded with a dark grimace, "I think so. They could've seen the coat as well."
Venti put his hand to his chin, "Still… there's no way they wouldn't run away."
"But if they ran away," You said, "They might've left something behind."
Venti considered it and then slowly nodded, "I see your point. Fine, then we'll check the area out, along with the others. There’s no reason not to try anyways." He turned to look at everyone else, "Hey guys!" He shouted, "Me and (Y/n) think it'd be good to look over there!" He pointed down the beach to where the regisvine resided.
Fischl scoffed, "Bard!" She called back, "That is where the bearer of freezing icicle petals resides!"
"Yeah, we know!" He shouted back bluntly.
Fischl deadpanned and ran over to you two, "What do you mean you know? You're just going to walk up to the regisvine?" She grabbed onto one of Venti's shoulders and one of yours.
You grabbed her shoulders, "Think about it Fischl, if they went over there they could've left something behind in their rush to get away."
"Yeah but why would anyone want to go over there?" She scowled, frustrated, "You two aren't going to be stupid while we're on this very important mission."
"Mein Fräulein, please, watch your anger." Oz came up beside her.
Fischl removed her hands and frowned at the raven, "If my retinue will stop spewing such absurd ideas then perhaps I, too, will be more reasonable."
"If you don't want to go then we'll go by ourselves-"
"Absolutely not!" She shouted, "You two are not going by yourselves, I will not let two of my friends do something so stupid without me there to help."
Your heart melted, and your eyes visibly softened.
This is all you've ever wanted wasn't it? This little friend group you now have. Your heart swelled. To be loved in Teyvat, that's all you've ever wanted wasn't it?
Fischl saw the look on your face and glared, "Royal secretary, do not get ahead of yourself. I am still your prinzessin, and though thou's thoughts are unusual and barbaric, I must still protect my people."
"Thank you, Fischl." You said honestly.
The fondness in your words seemed to have thrown Fischl off. Her eyes widened and her jaw went slack. She sputtered but shook it off.
"…Thank you, (Y/n)." There was an odd look in her eyes that you didn't like.
Venti butted in, "Well now that that's settled, me and (Y/n) are going to the regisvine now! Feel free to follow if you want!"
He grabbed your arm and took off, Fischl frustratedly shouted something behind the two of you but you couldn't hear it over Venti's giggling.
"W-wait for me!" Bennett yelled, following after you.
Then the five of you were racing towards the regisvine, you and Venti unusually lax for running straight into a possibly early grave.
Though you were sure nothing too bad would happen.
The five of you heard the regisvine before you saw it. The sounds of ice shattering and breaking. You could already see your breath in front of your face.
"Is it… is it fighting someone?" Bennett questioned, speeding up ahead of the group a bit to try and get a better look at it.
"Wait so," You brightened, "Could the person who took the items be in there?"
Fischl blinked, bewildered, her hands on her arms, "Are they really..?"
Venti grinned, "Only one way to find out! Come on!" He grabbed you and Bennett by your arms, dragging you towards the regisvine.
"W-woah!" Bennett tripped but Venti and you helped him before he fell completely in the sand.
The three of you bolted ahead, mostly being dragged by Venti.
"W-w-wait! Guys!" Fischl yelled after you guys, running ahead to catch up.
"Mein-" Oz sighed affectionately, "Be careful you four." He glided next to all of you.
Then the four of you heard a distinct sound. The sound of someone fighting.
Venti grinned, "Looks like we've found our culprit."
He rushed ahead, towards an edge where there was a small drop off.
You heard Venti gasp.
"What? What is it, Venti?" You asked insistently.
The rest of you came up beside him. At the same time all of you gasped, "Noelle?" The three of you shouted.
At the sound of her name she turned to look at you. She was scraped a bit and scuffed up, but she still had her shield up. Her eyes were wide and confused, but she looked away as the regisvine reared up to land another hit on her.
"We gotta help her!" You shouted.
Bennett scrambled around, "What do we do?" He shook from uncertainty.
You pursed your lips and sucked in a steady breath, "Bennett," You looked at him, "Go break the circle thing with your skill, Fischl, Oz, do the same thing."
The three of them stared at you wide-eyed for a moment.
"Come on! She needs help!" You urged them to go, pushing Fischl forward gently, "If anything happens… I'll make sure you're okay." You held onto her shoulder firmly and then let go.
Despite their hesitation, their expressions hardened and they nodded. They jumped down and headed for the regisvine.
"Ah," Noelle looked up but nodded, "Thank you."
"Let's light it up!"
"Oz, reveal thyself!"
Venti and you stood by, watching as they chipped away at the shield.
"And what am I to do, (Y/n)?" The name came as naturally to him as breathing. His heart swelled at the notion.
"You come in after the shield is broken." You said, watching them carefully, "You won't be able to do much but help is help."
"Haah!" Bennett broke the shield.
"Venti, go! Do your skill."
"Got it!" He nodded, sprinting down to join the others. He spun, "Here we go!"
"Infused pyro, not ideal but it'll do…" you muttered to yourself. Your eyes caught onto Bennett's and Noelle's glowing visions, "Bennet! Burst. Noelle once he sets it down you burst too. Fischl, resummon Oz!"
They all hesitated with the orders, but Bennett got over it before any damage could be done and set his ult down. Afterwards, Noelle was quick to slash at the fallen flower, and Oz was resummoned.
You sighed, shoulders slumping, silently praying you wouldn't have to do a second cycle.
Somehow, by some miracle, your ragtag team did manage to one cycle it. Just as the flower was coming up, and Bennett's ult had already disappeared, Noelle managed to get one more good swing in and finish it off. Her giant, geo infused greatsword disappeared.
She huffed, "Thank you."
You jumped down to join the others, a massive grin on your face, "Good job you five!" You clapped Venti and Fischl on their shoulders and gently patted Oz, "That was clean!"
Venti crossed his arms, "Didn't really feel like I did much."
"Well…" You mused, "You didn't really, but you do have four piece Viridescent on don't you?"
"U-uh," Venti sputtered, his face beet red. He grabbed your arm, "Don't mention it in front of everyone." He glared and then let out a massive sigh, attempting to rid himself of the red painting his cheeks, "But… yes… I do. Just, don't mention it in front of everyone again okay? I told you that in confidence."
"Oh… s-sorry…" You muttered, confused, "I-I got carried away…"
You had no damn clue what that was about, but from the reactions of the others you shouldn't have brought that up. They were seemingly politely ignoring what you'd just said.
"Well uh- n-nevermind then. Sorry again I got too excited."
"It's fine," Venti dismissively waved his hand, "You're bringing the mood down. Noelle," He smiled at the girl, "Are you okay?"
"Oh! Yes!" She clasped her hands and smiled gratefully, "I'm fine! Although I'm not sure if I would've been if you three hadn't arrived when you did. Oh, by the way," Her smile died down and there was a curious glint in her eyes, "Why were you traveling this way? If I may ask."
"Oh," Bennett put his hands on his hips and responded coolly, "We were tasked with a commission from the Adventurer's Guild to find the objects that were stolen from the church."
'There were items stolen from the church?" Noelle gasped, her hands going up to cover her mouth, "I suppose I've been out all morning and that's why I haven't heard yet…”
"Maybe,” You said, “but that's why we were looking this way, we thought the culprits might've gone this way. Have you seen anything?" You tilted your head with a kind smile.
"Well…" Noelle hummed, "The reason I'm here in the first place is because I noticed there were some Fatui members that were being attacked by the regisvine. I couldn't just let them be beat by it so I helped them out but they ran away." She furrowed her brows and frowned, "Do you think they might've been the ones to steal from the church?"
"I think so." You said, matching her frown, "Do you know which way they went?"
Noelle hummed, looking around, "I think I saw them go over that way. Follow me." She motioned for the rest of you to follow her and you did so without hesitation.
She turned and headed to the other entrance of the regisvine’s “cave”
“Unless they’re really good climbers or swimmers, isn’t this a dead end.” Bennett said, furrowing his eyebrows.
Venti grinned and pointed at Bennett, “Exactly.”
Bennett’s eyes twinkled with recognition and he nodded, his hands on his hips and a grin on his lips.
Sure enough there were Fatui members breathing heavily. In the middle of their little group were all the goods.
As soon as they had seen you they readied themselves for a fight and swung wildly and hard.
Out of instinct of scrambling to switch characters, you screamed, “Noelle-!”
“Leave it to me!” A shield encased all of you. Weak but effective.
“Bennett, Fischl, Venti, do your skills!”
“Yahoo!”
“Oz!”
“Hah!”
“Bennett! Ult!” You commanded.
He did so and it made the fight go so much smoother, especially once Noelle had ulted as well. The four of them effectively cleaned up the Fatui while Noelle’s shield protected all of you from Fatui members. Including you, which you were immensely glad for. You shivered at the thought of what they’d try on you if you didn’t have a shield.
“Good job all of you!” You stepped over the Fatui’s bodies.
Noelle and Bennett blushed, “Thank you, (Y/n).” Noelle smiled gently, “Are these the items that were stolen from the church?”
“I believe so,” Venti hummed, crouching down to inspect the items, “Ocarina, puzzle, earrings, the books, weapon, coat… I think this is everything.”
“Weren’t there flowers?” Fischl asked, leaning over to look at all the items.
“They probably didn’t bother with them.” You frowned.
“Still!” Bennett shouted, grinning ear-to-ear, “This is great! We found most of the items that we were supposed to! Looks like my bad luck isn’t that bad today!”
Just as he spoke those words, the cryo regisvine respawned.
“Shit!” You jumped back at seeing it reappear.
Noelle panicked, “How do we get past it?”
“No way we have to fight it again!” Fischl whined.
Bennett deflated, “I’m sorry everyone…”

Chapter 12: Final Escape
Tumblr media
Summary: A dramatic last stand against the Madness-infected Vessels of Monstadt has Cara fighting for her life against multiple enemies. Will she manage to escape to live another day, or will she finally fall to the wrath of the hunters and the false god?
WOOHOO I AM ALIVE!!! To all who see this, thank you for sticking out the long wait. We're nearing the end of what I like to call the Monstadt Arc! After that, it's on to the nation of contracts...oh boy. Cara's own personal hell continues. Likes and reblogs are greatly appreciated! Have a great rest of your week! :D
Chapter 13 is here
Tumblr media
Cara had her sword out in an instant, everything Albedo taught her screaming at her to go on the defensive. Rosaria’s polearm bounced off of the blade, sending the other woman falling back. She didn’t waste any time though, and went back in for the kill, charging forward and swinging viciously. Her jabs were sharp and precise. It was taking all of Cara’s concentration to deflect the attacks.
“You have good reflexes,” Rosaria said. “You’ve been training with someone. Whoever it is taught you well.” She swung her polearm towards Cara’s head. A little shield of gold light pulsed around her arm when she brought it up to block the blow. “And it seems you do have some sort of strange power, after all. I can sense it, you know. It’s drawing me to you.”
“Then why are you fighting me?” Cara asked. “If you feel the connection between us, you have to know I’m not your enemy!”
“I know you aren’t. I’ve told you, I’m not doing this because I hate you. I’m doing this because I’m more afraid of what the Creator might do to Monstadt if I allow you to live than what might happen if you die.” Rosaria suddenly disappeared, moving far too quickly for Cara’s eyes to keep up with her. She reappeared behind her and swung her polearm in a wide arc. Cryo built up over it, turning the spear into a far deadlier version of itself as it prepared to cut her in half.
A shield formed around Cara, protecting her from the attack. The Cryo clashed harmlessly against it. At first, she thought this was another manifestation of her powers. But then she saw that the forcefield had a geometric shape to it, and there was a specific type of elemental energy radiating from it that she had only ever felt from Albedo’s Vision before. This was a shield of Geo.
“Sister Rosaria, please stand down!” Noelle begged as she brought out her claymore and charged into the battle. “I do not want to fight you!”
“You don’t want to fight me? Then fine, don’t. This doesn’t involve you, anyway.” Rosaria dodged a swing from Noelle. With her polearm still covered in ice, she struck out and sent the warrior maid skidding away. Cara ran to offer Noelle assistance, using the shield to block Rosaria’s blows. The Geo sparked every time the weapon landed against it, little cracks forming over its transparent surface.
“Don’t!” Noelle cried. “The shield will break if it's hit too many times! I won’t be able to create another one soon enough!”
Rosaria continued to attack, and Cara once again found herself going on the defensive. Frustration filled her; here she was, after spending a month training, still depending on others to protect her. With a surge of strength fueled by her emotions, she pushed forward and jabbed her sword right between the tip of Rosaria’s polearm. The two of them strained, each hoping to knock the other’s weapon away, when finally, it was Cara who prevailed. Rosaria’s spear was flung back, and then Cara kicked her in the stomach, hard.
Rosaria staggered and grunted in pain. “Wow, that was quite the display of strength. I’m impressed. You don’t look like you’d have that sort of drive in you.”
“When you’ve been hunted by the people you know and love for weeks on end,” Cara said between heavy breaths, “that ‘sort of drive’ will develop in you whether you want it to or not.” She wavered when she saw the way Rosaria was clutching her stomach and realized that she could have seriously injured her. The other woman took advantage of her guilt and leaped forward. Her polearm struck the Geo shield, but this time, its blade cut through it easily. The cracks broke apart, and it exploded into shattering bits.
“Rule number one of fighting the people you know and love,” Rosaria said. “Never let your guard down simply because of your feelings for them.” And then she punched Cara in the stomach, bringing forth a blossom of pain. She fell to her knees with a gasp.
“That’s enough!” Noelle screamed. “If you wish to fight Her Grace, then you must fight me as well! I won’t let you hurt her anymore!” She swung her weapon in a wide arc. Rosaria was forced to turn her attention away from Cara to block the attack. Both of them were soon caught in a battle of blows, with Rosaria using her agility to dodge Noelle’s powerful swings. It was reminiscent of the battle Cara witnessed between Bennett and Eula. But now, she could fight too. And she wasn’t about to let Noelle take on Rosaria alone.
She ignored the sparks of pain shooting through her abdomen as she moved, climbing onto a nearby pew and then launching herself at Rosaria with her sword raised over her head. Rosaria saw and tilted her polearm so that the blade of Cara’s sword hit its shaft. Noelle slammed her body weight into Rosaria, making her fall forward and lose her balance. Cara twirled her sword and knocked the polearm away. It clattered to the cathedral floor and skid beneath a pew.
“You have skill,” Rosaria said, panting. She dropped to one knee; it seems that having an armored warrior maid barrel into you takes its toll on the body. “This…isn’t the outcome I anticipated when I initiated this fight. I know I can easily defeat you and Noelle at the same time.”
“Then why don’t you?” Cara asked. “Is…is there a part of you that might be holding back?”
Rosaria glared daggers at her. “I never hold back.”
“There is, isn’t there? Stop lying to yourself.” Cara squatted down and looked her right in the eyes. “You know me. I’m not your god or your enemy. I’m Cara, your player, your friend.”
Rosaria stared at her. Her eyes softened slightly, a light Cara hadn’t seen before flickering to life within them. Her hope rose. I’m getting through to her.
“We don’t have to fight.” She stood up and offered Rosaria her hand. “Trust me. Please.”
Before Rosaria could react, the doors to the cathedral suddenly burst open with a swirling of wind. The shards of Cryo that were keeping them closed shattered into little bits. Pouring in came the Knights of Favonius, all of them armed with swords and shields. “There she is!” one of them yelled, pointing at Cara.
Cara stepped back, startled, and whatever emotions she had moved within Rosaria were gone. The sister swiped her foot beneath her legs and made her fall. “Your Grace!” Noelle cried, moving to run to her, but two knights stood in her path, forcing her back. “Stay silent, traitor,” they hissed at her.
Rosaria rose over Cara and released a breath. There was no hint of sympathy in her eyes now. She looked visibly shaken though, and regarded Cara like one would observe a venomous snake. “You…are a strange little girl,” she said. “I can’t deny that there’s something divine about you. I don’t blame that god for wanting you dead.” She retrieved her polearm. “Time to put an end to this.”
Cara scrambled up and gripped her sword. “Rosaria, it doesn’t have to be this way!”
“You know just as well as I do that it does.” Rosaria once again leaped in to initiate an attack.
Cara dodged and ran for Noelle. She clashed with the knights in her way and used their armor and shields to her advantage, ducking from clumsy attacks and letting them run into each other. Noelle was not fighting back. She looked far too panicked by the knights pointing their weapons right into her face. Cara knocked their swords aside, grabbed Noelle’s hand, and ran for the cathedral’s front doors.
“Stop! Imposter!” The knights-and Rosaria-gave chase. Cara and Noelle pounded down the cathedral’s steps and ran through the courtyard. People stopped and stared when they went by, but quickly caught on to what was happening when they saw the knights close behind them. Monstadt’s citizens started to yell and cheer for Cara's capture. “Catch the imposter!” they cried. “Don’t let her escape! Do it for the Creator! Do it for Barbatos!”
“Why don’t all of you shut the fuck up?” Cara screamed at them as they ran by.
There was the sound of avian screeching, followed by a streak of purple that leaped through the sky and darted in their path. “This way!” Oz screamed, flapping his wings with desperate urgency. “Quickly! The escape plan is ready to initiate! We must leave, now-!”
Another blast of Anemo slammed into the three of them. Oz was nearly knocked out of the air, black feathers falling while he squawked. Cara saw the knights and the angered citizens closing in on them. She shoved Noelle in front of her. “Go! Follow Oz! Get out of here!”
“What?” Noelle yelled. “No! I will not leave you!”
“They’ve seen you with me and now they’re going to target you, too! You need to get out of the city while you can!”
“I swore I would protect you no matter what! There is no point in us separating now! We have time to escape together!”
The wind was pulling Cara away from Noelle. She could feel its strength, and she knew if Noelle and Oz didn’t leave now, the Vision holder conjuring this power would kill them. “Please, just go! I’ll find my way to you guys! Tell Kaeya where I am! I’m going to try and hold them off!”
“Your Grace, I strongly object to this plan!” Oz screeched. “Our mission is to ensure your safety! Teyvat will not be saved without you!”
“You two are not expendable!” Cara argued.
  “Neither are you!”
“I will not watch you die! Please, just go and get Kaeya! I’ll stay here and fight until you guys come back for me!”
Noelle looked frantically at the incoming mob. “Your Grace…”
“Go!” Cara shooed at them. She could tell they knew she was afraid. Even with her mask on, her voice was surely giving away just how terrified she was. “I promise I’ll be okay!”
Oz grabbed Noelle’s cape with his beak and pulled on it urgently. The other girl warred with herself for a second longer, then set her jaw and nodded. “Okay. We’ll be back! Please, stay alive!”
Cara watched her run after Oz, her heart sinking when she was left alone. She raised a quivering hand to her mask, covering the snout like it was her actual mouth. A hollow sob escaped her lips. Don’t leave me, she thought. Please, don’t leave me here alone. I don’t want to die. I don’t want to face the Madness.
She did not say these words out loud. She would not allow Noelle or Oz to die for her. This was her war, not theirs. This was ensuring their safety, no matter how terrified she felt.
She heard the clinking of armor and a sword being unsheathed. Cara whirled around and saw the Acting Grand Master herself walking towards her with a troop of knights following close behind. Monstadt citizens quickly surrounded them, forming a ring that promised no escape.
“Imposter,” Jean announced forebodingly. “Your time ends here.”
“Oh, you have got to be fucking kidding me,” Cara cursed. She drew her sword and slowly started to back up. Jean stalked towards her, slow and steady, ready to pounce at any moment. “Jean-”
“Save your excuses. I am not here to talk. By the order of the Almother and under the jurisdiction of the Knights of Favonius, I hereby condemn you to execution.” She pointed her sword at her. “No more running. This ends now.”
They circled each other, like two animals about to fight. Cara glanced around fleetingly, searching for a possible escape route, but could find none with the giant crowd of onlooking Monstadters surrounding them. The air was filled with the sound of cheers and yells and hisses. Most of what she could pick up on were voices of support for Jean. The citizens were pressing in on them like hungry wolves. If she were to attempt an exit, they would surely tear her apart.
“Jean,” she desperately implored. “Please, think about this. Is this really what you want? Is this your own decision? Or is it someone else’s? What is your supposed Almother whispering into your ear?”
Jean snarled. “You dare attempt to shake my faith in the Creator?”
“I’m trying to make you think! Rosaria told me what she does to you guys. I know she abuses you and takes over your bodies while filling your heads with lies. What does she know about me?”
  “She knows you are a-”
“She knows nothing!” Cara screamed out the final word with all of her frustration and hatred for the creature who had stolen her face packed into it, sending her emotions high into the heavens for even Celestia to hear. “She claims to know who I am and what my fate is meant to be! All of you do! You see me as an imposter and a heretic, and yet you never even once think to hear out the side of the one you're hunting! I am not what you think I am, I’m not what she thinks I am! I will decide what my fate is and where I’m meant to stand in this world!”
Jean did not answer. The red in her eyes flickered and dulled. Cara could see the wheels turning in her mind and felt hope. She persisted. “Listen to me Jean. Listen to my words without having the opinion of another forced into your brain. I am not an imposter. I am not your enemy. I don’t want to be your god. I just want to be the person you know me to be deep down.”
“And who,” Jean asked slowly, “are you supposed to be?” The question sounded like it was directed at herself as much as it was to Cara. The Madness within her was weakening due to her newfound doubt.
Cara softened. “I’m your friend. I’m the one who fought beside you during the Stormterror incident. I’m the one you’ve confided your troubles and feelings in. I’ve been there for you and I want to keep being here for you. I’m Cara, and I-”
The moment she said her own name, all progress in freeing Jean was lost. Red consumed her natural eye color, and her lips curled as she bared her teeth and roared. “You will not give yourself a name that doesn’t belong to you!” A blast of Anemo hit Cara and nearly knocked her off of her feet as the Acting Grand Master ran forward to attack.
Cara rolled and bounced back, deflecting the Aquila Favonia. Jab after jab after jab. Dodge, defend, block, run. This was not the composed, proper attack style she was so used to seeing from Jean. She was being shown the true might of the Acting Grand Master.
“You are a liar!” Jean slashed. “You are a fraud!” Cara barely had enough time to block an attack aimed for her ankles. “You wear a face that isn’t your own and now you must suffer the repercussions for it! Take it off, heretic! Take off the mask so we can see you for the imposter you really are!”
Anemo power hit Cara and sent her stumbling back into the crowd. Instantly, what felt like a million hands started clawing at her while the angry screams of the Monstadt citizens filled her ears until it was all she could perceive. Panic set in when she felt herself being swallowed up by the mob, and she fought to break free. A final push had her running back into the circle, but there was no time to catch her breath, because Jean was upon her immediately with her sword flying for her chest.
She blocked it and struck forward. The fight continued, both swords clashing, back and forth with neither gaining the upper hand. Cara was beginning to tire; she was honestly surprised with herself that she was managing to keep up with Jean for this long. Over and over again the Aquila Favonia flashed before her eyes, and the only thing keeping it at bay was the Prototype Rancour. Sooner or later, her strength was going to give out, and Jean would lop off her head. Kaeya, come on, where are you with that escape plan? I really need you right now!
In the corner of her good eye, just within her mask’s line of vision, she saw red. Heat touched her skin. Fire. She threw herself out of the way before the Pyro-infused greatsword hurtling towards her could skewer her. It crashed into the ground with so much force the tip of its blade was buried in the cobblestone. Beneath her bandages, her right eye ached. Shit. Wrong brother.
“Diluc,” Jean said. There was a sort of surprise in her tone.
“Forgive my intrusion.” Diluc stepped out of the crowd. He retrieved his claymore with a single hand, wrenching it out of the ruined ground like it was a simple stick in the mud. “I hope you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind at all. Your aid is welcomed. The imposter is quite skilled with a sword. I’m having a bit of trouble finding her weak spots.”
“It seems she is.” Diluc regarded Cara with utter disgust. “So we meet again. I see you’ve gotten yourself a little accessory to cover your face with. Do you think it’s funny to wear a mask that resembles Caratrice’s true form? Your sense of humor sickens me.”
Cara’s mouth felt dry at the sight of the red-haired man. Flashing fire burning away her eye seared her memory and made her wince in pain.
“I do not trust the knights,” Diluc continued. “And I will admit, I am a little reluctant to be aiding them in your capture and execution. But I am willing to put my feelings aside if it means you are brought to justice. Now, before we kill you, do you have any last words?”
Cara could not respond. She worked her tongue in the hopes of forming words, but nothing came out. Diluc had sparked deep fear in her, something that hadn’t existed before their fight in Dragonspine. Her heart was pounding too quickly. Her breaths were far too shallow. She couldn’t move. Get up! she screamed at herself. You need to get up! You need to fight!
She could see nothing but fire. She could feel nothing but fear. Her mind was a wasteland of charred skin and splattered gold blood. And then, two giant blue-gray eyes ruptured through her vision and she felt a humongous pressure of great claws grabbing her by the shoulders and enormous teeth biting straight into her very soul. “MOVE!” a mighty voice thundered. “STAND!”
Her hands were shaking. Her fingers curled around the hilt of her sword. Spindling gold cracks lit up across her arms, and with her own voice ringing in her ears, she pushed herself up and faced Diluc and Jean. An onslaught of strength entered her weary bones. She pushed her mask over her head, revealing her face, bandages, concealed scars and all.
“There she is,” Diluc growled. “The face of a demon in disguise.”
“There is nowhere to run, imposter,” Jean said. “We have you surrounded.”
She looked around. All around them were Knights of Favonius, holding off the mob of civilians and facing her with bristled shields and swords. There were familiar faces among them, too: she saw Rosaria staring at her with resigned resolve. Beside her, Barbara watched her nervously with a rosary clutched between her clasped hands. She noticed Amber perched on the top of a nearby building, a flaming arrow aimed for her and ready to be released. Eula, Mona, and Lisa were there, too. It was a standoff. Every single Vision user who was infected with the Madness-or at least influenced by it-was here to kill her. And here she was, completely alone. No Kaeya, no Bennett and Razor, no Klee and Sucrose, no Noelle, no Albedo. She could not face them all alone. She was going to die here. They were going to rip her apart and there was nothing she could do about it.
She remembered what she had told Albedo in Dragonspine. “I won’t be reckless. I won’t throw myself into situations I can’t handle. I’m going to survive, for you and the rest of my friends.” Not even a day had gone by since she had seen him, and she was already breaking that promise to him. Sorry Albedo, she thought guiltily. I guess I’m not as sensible as you thought I was.
Cara slowly held up her hands in surrender. And then she turned and ran.
“After her!” Jean ordered. The knights and the hounds charged. Cara felt the heat of Diluc’s Pyro on her back as he rocketed towards her. She ducked. He sailed over her head, then did a somersault and landed in front of her. The Serpent Spine created sparks against the street as he used it to slow himself down. She made an erratic turn and pelted down an alleyway, leaving him behind.
“Not so fast!” Amber yelled from the rooftops. Flaming arrows rained down. Cara raised a hand and let a golden shield form. The arrows bounced off of it harmlessly. The alleyway opened up into another main street. She skidded and nearly fell over when she ran left.
Out of nowhere, Eula appeared and slammed herself into her. Cara fell and nearly lost her sword. Eula swung her claymore down towards her neck, but she blocked it. The blood in her veins flared brightly when she pushed back with an influx of strength.
Eula recovered quickly. She blasted Cara with Cryo. Little shards of ice formed over her clothes as she raised her arms to shield her face from the elemental attack. Her legs went numb. She looked down at them and was horrified to see that they were slowly being encased in ice.
“If you didn’t know,” a new voice said from behind her. “Hydro and Cryo create a frozen reaction.” Mona’s eyes glowed blue as she summoned the power of water and kept it swirling around Cara’s legs. “Try escaping now, imposter.”
“Mona!” Cara cried. “The Madness is in you, too! You need to fight it!”
“Madness? I’m not infected with any sort of madness! I think of myself as quite a sane person, thank you very much!” Mona looked offended. “You, on the other hand, are probably the craziest person in Monstadt right now. Heretics aren’t known for their high IQs, after all.”
Cara tried to pull her legs out of the ice, but it was no use. It was slowly creeping up her torso and making its way to her chest. Soon she wouldn’t be able to move at all.
“I think we’ll let her freeze to death,” Mona mused. “Is that too painful, Eula? I suppose it would be kind of us to give her a merciful execution.”
“It’s not painful enough,” Eula spat. “The Creator did not tell us to be kind with her.”
“Oh. Then I guess we should keep her alive long enough for Diluc to get here. Did you know, little imposter? Burning to death is the most painful way a human being can die. Let’s see how you’ll like it.”
Terror filled Cara like water filling a glass: rapidly rising, higher and higher, until it hit the brim and spilled over and her panic peaked when she realized that she could not move. “Let me go!” she screamed, and with the surge of fear, a gold light erupted from her body and shattered through the ice. She took off running, not looking back, not even acknowledging Mona or Eula a second time. Both women sprang to stop her. Mona raised a hand and sent forth bursts of Hydro, while Eula jumped and practically threw her claymore at her. Cara deflected it, but did not avoid Mona’s attack: the Hydro struck her with piercing pain, and she gasped as she was nearly knocked off balance as what felt like a million tiny little needles jabbed through her clothing and into her skin.
“Bet you didn’t think water could hurt you so badly, now, did you?” Mona cackled. Hydro swirled around her hands as she prepared to unleash another attack. “Hydrology does more than reveal the future, you know!”
Despite the agony she was in, Cara kept running. “Don’t let her escape!” Eula shouted.
She weaved through alleyways and pelted down streets, dodging arrows sent by Amber and barely avoiding hits from Eula and Mona. She did not see Diluc, nor did she see Jean. Monstadt was a huge city, much larger than its game counterpart. How the fuck do I get out of here? she thought frantically. And where the hell are Kaeya and the others?
She turned a corner, and someone pummeled into her, causing her to see stars. She felt a hand wrap around her neck and another grab her mask and shove it over her head while she was lifted off of the ground. Diluc’s eyes were completely, utterly filled with Madness as he angled his claymore at her stomach. “Hold still,” he hissed. “I want to see your face as you die.”
She grabbed his wrist and squeezed. Golden light glowed from her palm. Diluc yelped in pain and dropped her, giving her time to get back onto her feet. He examined the marking on his skin, which was already fading away. “You…burned me?”
She pulled her mask back over her face and ran. Unfortunately, she didn’t get very far. Rosaria was there to join them, once again lunging at her from the shadows with every intent to kill. Cara fought her off and turned to run back the way she came, but a blast of purple lightning forced her to backpedal. “There’s no use in running,” Lisa said haughtily with a smile. She too had arrived to stop her. “Just give up, cutie. It’s time for this to end.”
Cara turned in a circle. All around her, Vessels were arriving. Amber was once again on a roof. Rosaria, Diluc, and Lisa closed off any escape routes. Eula and Mona caught up and stood at the ready. And finally, there was Jean with Barbara at her side.
“We cannot kill you just yet,” Barbara said. She did not look like she wanted to be there, and certainly didn’t have the bloodthirsty, furious expression that the rest of them wore, but she did look at Cara with an equal amount of fear and repulsion. “You have something that belongs to the church. Please, hand it over.”
“No,” Cara insisted. “You don’t understand. I need it.”
“What would a heretic need with the Holy Lyre der Himmel?” Barbara asked, exasperated.
“I-I need it to get in contact with Barbatos. I-”
Mona cut her off with sharp laughter. “Ha! The imposter wants to gain an audience with the Anemo Archon! You truly are the most mad person in Monstadt!”
“Barbatos would never grace you with his presence,” Jean said coldly.
“He doesn’t even grace his own followers with his presence,” Rosaria muttered, but was quickly shushed by Barbara.
“You don’t understand!” Cara cried. “This isn’t just about him and me! It’s about something even greater!”
“There is nothing great about stealing a sacred artifact from the church,” Amber spoke up. “And there isn’t anything great about calling yourself the Creator, either.”
“I never did that! You all just assumed I was because of my name!”
“Your ‘name’ is enough evidence to prove you are an imposter,” Eula said. “Do you know about the heretics who have come before you? All of them called themselves something similar to Her Grace’s name. You are just following in their footsteps. The lack of respect for the Almother sickens me! By the gods, I will have vengeance for this!”
They were closing in on her. Cara desperately looked for somewhere to run, but a flaming arrow nicked her shoulder and caused her to hiss. “That was just a warning!” Amber called. “One more step and I’ll send one straight through your heart!”
Blood dripped from the mild wound. She clutched it, then suddenly had an idea. With her palm covered in her own blood, she raised it into the air for all of them to see. “Look! Look at the color of my blood! Would an imposter have golden blood?”
  They all paused.
“Her Grace told us you might try to trick us this way,” Jean said.
“Your blood is not gold,” Eula growled. “Your blood is just as red as ours.”
“It literally isn’t!” Cara could not hold back her frustration.
“Heretics have used alchemy in the past to give their blood the appearance of being gold,” Lisa said. “You really thought we would fall for such a rudimentary trick? Aw, I thought you were smarter than this, darling.”
“I have had enough of this.” Diluc marched towards Cara with flames burning across his claymore. “No more talking. You will die now, and there is no more dicussing it.”
Cara raised her sword, preparing to fight for her life, even though she knew she was going to lose. But before such a battle could begin…she heard something.
The whinny of a horse, followed by the sound of hooves.
Diluc paused. All of the Vessels looked around in confusion. The clop-clop-clopping grew nearer. Cara could feel the vibration within the soles of her boots.
And then a horse galloped into the scene, cantering straight into the circle and causing the Vision holders to seek cover from the massive animal’s arrival. Diluc stumbled back as the horse halted right between him and Cara, rearing up onto its hind legs and punching the air as it neighed. Its tack was gold and white, and emblazoned upon its head armor was the Knights of Favonius crest.
A familiar gloved hand reached out for her. “Get on!” Kaeya yelled.
Cara did not waste any time. She grasped his arm and let him haul her up onto the horse behind him. “Hold on tight,” he told her. “This is going to be a fast ride.” He squeezed the horse and snapped the reins. It took off into an immediate canter, flying down the street and leaving the hunters far behind them. The last thing Cara heard was Diluc scream out “KAEYA!” with enough fury to send a grown man into tears.
They did not speak as they raced through Monstadt’s streets. Cara was pretty sure if she tried to talk, her voice would be carried away with the wind. She just held on to Kaeya with all of her might, burying her face into his shoulder and feeling the gait of the horse beneath her. A loud cawing from above made her peek up at the sky. Leading them from the air was Oz. Trails of Electro crackled off of his feathers as he flew…or perhaps it wasn’t Oz at all. There was no sign of Fischl anywhere, so it was probable she was the one guiding them to safety.
They went through the city’s main gates and down the stone bridge, going far too fast for anyone to stop them. Waiting at the end were two more horses. On one was Bennett and Razor, and on the other was Noelle. They joined them as they cantered off, side by side, heading deeper into the wilds. Only when they were far away from the city did the horses slow to a brisk trot.
“Cara!” Bennett called. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine!” she answered. “Where did you guys get these horses? I didn’t even know there were horses in Monstadt!”
“Well, it would be a bit odd for me to be the cavalry captain if there were no horses around, no?” Kaeya said to her.
“Well, yes, of course, but-” It probably wouldn’t be the best idea for her to say “Hey, Hoyoverse hasn’t added mounts to the game yet!” to the game characters, so she went for a different way of wording. “I thought Varka took all the horses with him on that big expedition!”
“That would be impossible!” Noelle piped up. “The Grand Master did take many of the horses the Knights of Favonius own, yes, but plenty remained here for those who stayed behind! We depend on horses for many things! To leave Monstadt horseless would be a great disaster!”
“Not to mention that the Adventurers’ Guild has a stable of their own that they let their members use for free!” Bennett added. “Plenty of regular civilians and adventurers own horses of their own!”
“The point is, we need horses here,” Kaeya said. “It’s mandatory for all knights to know how to ride because of how important a skill it is. Horses truly are an integral part of Monstadt’s stability.”
“Huh.” Cara didn’t know what to say to that. It seemed that there really were more differences between this world she had been forced into and the game she used to play than she thought. “Did you just take them from the stables? Isn’t that stealing?”
“I am the cavalry captain,” Kaeya said matter-of-factly. “I can take as many of the Knights’ horses as I want, when I want.”
“No one saw us take them, if that’s what you're worried about!” Noelle said. “We’re okay! What we’re worried about is you!”
“What were you thinking?” Kaeya scolded. “You never should have separated from Noelle and Oz! They could have helped you fight the others off until I arrived!”
“If they would have stayed with me, they would have been in danger!” Cara replied. “I didn’t want that to happen!”
Kaeya sighed. “We’re all going to be in danger whether we want to or not. There’s no changing that anymore. I’m glad you're okay, but I really would have preferred it if one of us had been there for you.”
“I…I’m sorry. I probably scared you guys, and it wasn’t smart of me to send Noelle and Oz away. I just didn’t want to see them get hurt. Everyone was there to kill me. It was better that I was alone so their attention was on me, not you guys.”
“We don’t want their attention on you, Your Grace,” Kaeya said. “It’s extremely important that you are never cornered like that again.”
Cara was silent. She felt guilty on more than one level. Her friends were so willing to fight for her, to stand by her, to give up everything for her. It felt wrong. It felt selfish. Their lives were disrupted because of her. Kaeya, Bennett, Razor, Noelle…even Fischl and Oz. They could never go back to how things were. Their relationships with the Madness-infected Vessels were ruined. Kaeya would be killed if he stepped foot into Monstadt right now. Bennett would lose his status in the Adventurers’ Guild and be imprisoned. Razor had been forced to deceive Lisa, his mother figure. She might never trust him again. And Noelle…poor Noelle, who worked so hard to try and win Jean’s approval so she herself might become a knight someday…because of her, that dream was gone. As for Fischl and Oz, people probably saw the large purple night raven leading the heretic and her followers to safety. Mona might have seen. The two girls were practically sisters. Had she just torn them apart?
“Hey!” Bennett yelled, as if sensing how upset she was with herself. “What’s done is done, alright? We’re all safe, and that’s what matters. Let’s get the heck away from the city and steal that gnosis!” He spurred his horse onward, outpacing the other two and taking the lead. “I’m heading for Windrise! Last one there is hilichurl chow!”
“Wolves not meant to ride horse!” Razor shrieked as he clung to Bennett. “Wolf meant to run alone on ground! Going too fast!” His howls got lost amidst the sound of Bennett’s laughter. Cara couldn’t help but smile as she watched them.
They stuck to the main path, cantering past the Temple of the Falcon and heading southeast towards the tree that sat like a mighty giant in the distance. The sun was starting to set, signaling the beginning of the end for this terrifying, hectic afternoon. Cara looked back and could not see Monstadt City anymore; it was lost behind the cliffs and the hills, giving her a sense of ease as distance was put between her and the hunters. After today, she most likely wouldn't be there again for a while…at least, as long as she managed to successfully take Venti’s gnosis after summoning him with the holy lyre. If this impossible mission goes according to plan, and she actually manages to get it…she would have to leave Monstadt for a long, long time. It sent a pain through her heart. The nation of freedom was a place she was nostalgically fond of, and she was sad she hadn’t been given the chance to experience its beauty without its horrors lingering close behind.
They were alone when they arrived at Windrise. They let the horses graze beneath Vanessa’s tree and took the time to rest on the oak’s giant roots. Noelle unpacked some food and gave specific dishes to each of them. “A Monstadt hash brown for Razor…some chicken-mushroom skewers for Kaeya…a delicious Teyvat fried egg for Bennett…a cold cut platter for Fischl and Oz…and some lighter-than-air pancakes for you and me, Your Grace! I don’t know what your favorite food is, I apologize greatly for that, but I thought you might enjoy my specialty!”
Cara dug into the pancakes immediately, grateful to have something in her stomach after all of the running and fighting she had just done. “They’re perfect. Thank you, Noelle. Honestly, I don’t have a single favorite food. I’ll eat anything you give me…but I do enjoy seafood when I can have it. I could live off of seafood.”
“Seafood!” Noelle clapped her hands. “Perfect! I shall remember that. Thank you for telling me, Your Grace!”
Fischl, who had separated from Oz, suddenly gasped and nearly flung her cold cut platter into the air. Oz was knocked off of her shoulder and flopped onto the ground with a protesting caw. “Goodness gracious! Your Grace, thou hast received a wound!”
“Huh? What?” Cara poked her bandages. “Haven’t we discussed my injured eye already?”
“No! That’s not what I’m talking about!” Fischl grabbed her arm and touched her shoulder, where a bit of her shirt was ripped. “Who did this to you? I shall have their head for this!”
“Oh, that? It’s nothing. Look, it's already healed.” Cara poked the thin golden scar visible through the tear. “I got that when Amber shot an arrow at me. Thank god it wasn’t on fire.”
“Your endurance to such injuries has grown quite impressive, Your Grace,” Oz said. He cautiously hopped back onto Fischl’s shoulder and peered closely at the scar.
“Hmph! Well, I would imagine so! Her Grace is filled with enough power to bring the Seven to their knees! Of course a little cut from a messy mortal arrow wouldst be not a problem for her!” Fischl said.
“I think it’s so cool,” Bennett added. “I mean, being able to heal from any injury? Gods sure do have it lucky, don’t they?”
“Please don’t call me a god,” Cara groaned. “I thought we established that we weren’t going to do that anymore. I-”
Suddenly, the wind began to blow. Cara paused when she felt it blowing gently across them all. Something familiar stirred within her heart. The words she was about to say died on her tongue as she looked northeast. Across the Wailwind Highland, over the green fields and the tops of trees, in the direction of Starfell Valley, the tops of an ancient amphitheater were only just visible. The Thousand Wind’s Temple, where the wind was telling her to go. With it…came the gentle plucking of a lyre. The faint melody of a familiar song that brought dread.
“Cara?” Razor said. He nudged her gently. “Alright? You smell…scared. What is scaring you?”
Kaeya looked at her closely and seemed to recognize the distant expression in her eye. “What are you hearing?” he asked.
“Someone is waiting for me there.” She pointed to the Thousand Wind’s Temple.
  “Who?” Oz asked.
She knew who. She knew Kaeya knew as well, and from the dawning looks of apprehension Razor and Bennett were sharing with each other, it was clear they realized it too. Shakily, she stood. “I have to go.”
“Go?” Fischl and Oz repeated together.
“Your Grace, what do you mean?” Noelle asked.
Cara swallowed hard. “Noelle, Fischl, Oz…thank you for everything you have done for me. I know I’ve messed up your lives. Things won’t be the same for you guys anymore, and I know that’s my fault. I’m sorry I roped you into this…I wish I hadn’t.”
Noelle stood up too. “There is nothing to apologize for, Your Grace! I told you this in the church courtyard, I chose to help you! I do not care if Monstadt ostracizes me for it, I will never regret my decision to stand by your side!”
“Oz and I agree!” Fischl got up and put her hands on her hips. “If thou believest we wouldn’t have come to thy aid, then thou must reconsider changing thy beliefs! We would do it again, and again, and again!”
“You must not doubt us, Your Grace,” Oz agreed. “Mein Fräulein and I will always be here for you.”
Cara looked at them, and smiled. She felt tears gathering in her good eye, and she had to lower her head and wipe them away. “You guys…I…I don’t deserve you…”
“You deserve everything and so much more.” Fischl’s words were uncharacteristically gentle and heartfelt. “Just because you don't believe it, doesn’t mean it is not true.”
“Have faith in us, Almother,” Oz said. “-as we have faith in you.”
Cara stepped closer to them. She flung her arms over their shoulders and pulled them close, hugging them. “I love you guys. I love you guys so, so much.”
“We love you, too,” Noelle murmured.
“Our love for you knows no bounds,” Fischl said.
She held them tight, then eventually let go. She swiped her tears away. “I wish you guys could stay with me…but you can’t. You can’t go where I’m going. So I’m going to ask you, please, to get out of here while you can. Fischl and Oz, I don’t think anyone truly saw you guys helping me. You can return to Monstadt safely. Noelle…”
“I cannot go back.” Noelle nodded sadly. “I know.”
“I know someone who can keep you safe, though. Go to Dragonspine and find Albedo. He’s on our side. Tell him I sent you, and I asked that he keep you safe. I know I’ve asked far too much of him already, but…I want you to be protected. I don’t want you to die.”
“Are…are you sure we cannot come with you?”
“No. This is something that I have to do alone.”
Noelle sighed. “I understand.” Her eyes were glassy, but she was smiling. “Your Grace, it was my honor and privilege to serve you. I wish you nothing but success and safety on your journeys. I know that after today, we will probably won’t see each other again for a long time, but…there won’t be a single day that goes by from this moment onward that I won’t be thinking of you and praying you are safe.”
“I, too, will be praying and wishing for your safety,” Fischl said. She was sniffling and trying to keep a strong, determined expression on, but the tears dripping down her cheeks and the sight of her bottom lip quivering gave away just how distraught she was. “Your Grace, in the name of the Immernachtreich…I beseech you to remain ever vigilant of where thy foes may appear. Though we may not follow where fate brings you…we shall always be with you. This, um, isn’t just coming from the Prinzessin der Verurteilung…it’s coming from my heart, as well.”
Cara understood what she meant. She nodded. “I’ll be safe. I’ll get the Anemo gnosis. I’ll make sure neither of you have to fear for your life ever again.”
Noelle helped Fischl onto one of the horses, then got on another one. Both girls gave Cara one last farewell before leaving. Noelle headed towards Dragonspine, while Fischl took the road back in the direction of the city. She watched them draw farther and farther until she couldn’t see either of them at all.
Oz landed on her shoulder and nuzzled her cheek. “May the night protect you, Almother. Farewell.” And then he disappeared with a burst of electric light.
There was silence. Cara sat down one on a root and stared at the ground. She did not bother to wipe her tears away.
Razor sat down next to her. “Cara alright?” he softly asked.
She sniffed and nodded, swallowing down a sob. “I’ll be okay.”
“It’s hard to say goodbyes,” Bennett said. “It’s even harder when you don’t know if it’ll be the last goodbye you ever give someone.”
“It won’t be.” Kaeya placed a steady hand on Cara’s shoulder. “You will see them again. I promise you.”
“I just want them to be safe,” she whispered.
“They will be,” Bennett said. “I know they will. Noelle’s going to go stay with Albedo. Nobody will mess with her if he’s around. And Fischl and Oz are two of my best friends! I know how strong they are! It’ll take more than the Knights of Favonius to bring them down!”
“Purple girl, purple bird, and maid lady good people,” Razor added. “They won’t die. Souls are strong. Strong like wolf. No bad will happen to them. This I know.”
Kaeya squeezed her shoulder. “You must remain strong, for them, and for yourself. They will be okay. And you will be okay, too.”
“Yeah!” Bennett grinned. “You’ll be okay! Even if Noelle, Fischl, and Oz are gone, that doesn’t mean you aren’t alone! You have us! And we aren’t going anywhere!”
  Razor grunted in agreement. “Right!”
“We certainly aren’t.” Kaeya sat down and ducked his head to meet Cara’s eye. He smiled gently. “We aren’t leaving you…though I have a feeling you may attempt to convince us to.”
“You know me that well, huh?” Cara chuckled. “It’s true, though. You guys will be so much safer if you don’t come with me. You can go with Noelle and stay with Albedo-”
“Nope! Not happening!” Bennett jumped up. “Tell us to leave all you want, but we’re not gonna listen to you! We’ve been through so much together already! You’re really gonna just tell us to leave after everything that’s happened?”
“We are pack.” Razor pressed a hand to his heart. “You…me…Bennett…Kaeya…we are lupical now. Lupical protect each other. Lupical never abandons lupical, ever.”
“You two certainly do speak words of wisdom,” Kaeya said. “They’re right, Cara. We aren’t leaving. No matter what you tell us, we’re with you.”
Cara felt like she was going to burst into full-on sobbing. “You guys…fuck, your going to make me break apart if you keep saying all of this…” She sniffled and stood up. Their words ignited fresh determination. “Thank you. I don’t deserve you three. I want you to stay. I don’t want you to leave me…so please, no matter what I say…don’t leave.”
  “We won’t!”
  “Mm, promise!”
“The four of us will carry on together.”
She breathed in, then sighed. She felt better. Their words left her feeling invigorated. Noelle, Fischl, and Oz would be okay. Deep down, she knew Teyvat wouldn’t let any of her allies fall to danger. Everyone who had helped her in Monstadt would be alright.
The echoes from the lyre continued to send deep tremors through her soul.
It was time to face the music.
“I need you guys to wait here,” she told them. “I’m going to get the gnosis.”
They started to protest, and she held up her hand. “I know we just went through an emotional moment where we promised each other we’d stick together…but this is a battle I need to fight by myself. I-I can feel it. This won’t be a fight for mortals.” This will be a battle against gods.
They exchanged glances, still looking uncertain. It was Kaeya who finally relented. “Are you sure about this?”
“I am. He’s calling to me, and only me. If you guys show up, too…” She cast a glance at the temple. “He may not be happy. I don’t think he’d hurt you, but in the state he’s in, with the Madness controlling him…”
“He’ll kill us.” Bennett’s voice was shaky.
Kaeya stepped back. “Okay. You go. Take the horse with you. She’s loyal, and she’s fast. A quick getaway once it’s over might be necessary.”
Cara stepped up to the remaining horse and gently petted her neck. The mare nickered softly, giving her a greeting while she stared at her with kind brown eyes. “What’s her name?”
“Epona,” Kaeya answered, then added, “I trained her myself. She’ll stick with you no matter what is thrown your way.”
Cara put her foot in the stirrup and let Kaeya help her into the saddle. She looked down at her friends. They stood watching, waiting. Razor nodded once. Bennett gave her a thumbs up. Kaeya held Epona’s bridle and questioned her one last time. “You remember everything Albedo taught you?”
“How could I forget? He spent a month drilling it all into my brain.”
“Don’t hold it against him. You’ll get back at him for it one day.” Kaeya patted Epona’s neck, then stepped back. “We’ll follow from a distance and wait nearby. Please…stay safe, Cara. Stay alive.”
“Fight tooth and claw!” Razor added.
“Kick that Archon’s butt!” Bennett cried.
She smiled at them. “I will. I’m coming back with that gnosis, no matter what.”
She gave Epona a squeeze, and with a snort, she started off at a trot. Cara looked back and saw her friends watching. She waved, then forced herself to face forward.
She was terrified. She did not want to face him. She did not want to do this at all.
But she was going to have to.
Albedo, Noelle, Sucrose, Klee. Fischl, Oz, Diona. Kaeya, Bennett, Razor…she would not let their faith in her be in vain.
She headed for the Thousand Winds Temple, following the lyre’s song, where Venti was waiting.

A moment till you’re gone~
(This is my first time writing sagau, please bear with me, this is fem! Reader, because I don't know how to write gn! Reader, and I don't want to offend anybody, will make a part 2)
Pt.1/Pt.2
SAGAU Cult AU, IMPOSTER AU, DELAYED GOLDEN BLOOD AU, DYING! READER, ANGST
T.W: Mentions of gore, past torture, blood, trauma, past trauma, injuries, cussing, cult behaviors, and etc. You have been warned.
How many days have you've been running? Hiding from them? You don't know, you've lost count, a long time ago, and you don't want to remember when was the last time they caught you. All you ever wanted was to explore teyvat before your time runs out, not to be hunt down like some wild animal.
You've always got a weak heart, literally and figuratively, making you tired more easily, had a hard time of breathing, chest pain, (which scares your family sometimes) and occasionally low on blood, your parents tried to find a cure or even expand your life even just a little bit, but to every doctor, hospital your family ever gone, came up with a same result.
You only had 2 months to live, your family mourn for your short life, same goes to your friends, you are only saddened by the fact you can't enjoy your life a little longer. That's why you are so kind to everyone, so forgiving to everyone, because you want to enjoy your life to the fullest, without regrets, you want to make every moment joyful, even if you only had a short time.
Genshin was your comfort game, and your all time favorite, second being (your 2nd fav. Game anything but horror games, because you can easily faint with just only a jump scare) your best friend was the one who introduce you the game, you love everything in the game, the graphics, the animation, the story, the landscape, the characters, the npc, simply everything.
Till you got transport into teyvat, thinking it was just a dream, you happily walk the way to the city of monstdadt, only to be greeted by angry knights pointing their weapons on you, calling you an imposter.
Wide eyes from both shock and fear, you hastily flee away from them, looking back to see not only the knights, but the people of Mondstadt chase you, angrily yelling 'imposter!' 'hunt her down!' 'some imposter is copying her grace looks!'
Her grace? Who's her grace? You don't even know they exist in the game! And copying their looks? How could you even copy their looks when you were born like this? You thought as you run faster than before, you can feel your heart spiking from adrenaline (which is not good because of your weak heart), only for you to stumble down upon a hill.
"Your grace!" A feminine voice was heard, you look around to see where the voice came from. "...Amber?" You hesitantly ask as the outrider beam in happiness, you spoke her name, she giddily thought as she helps you stand up, you greedily breathe in the air, Amber look at you with worry.
"Your grace, are you alright?" Amber ask as she gently rubs your back.
"Yes... I'm fine-" You were caught by Amber who suddenly push you down, dodging that anemo blast from a certain acting grandmaster. Recovering from that sudden attack you then turn your head towards the female knight who almost killed you, with fear evident in your eyes.
"Jean! What are you doing?! Are you trying to kill her grace?!" Amber yelled at the knight who glared heatedly at you.
"That imposter is not our grace, Amber!! To think you were manipulated by this imposter, thinking she is our grace. I cannot just stand here and watch as the imposter do whatever she wants!!!" She exclaim as she dash forward towards you ready to stab you with her r5, lvl 90 aquila favonia sword only to be blast away with a spark of electro.
Both you and Amber turn your heads towards the electro sparks, only to see Lisa with her r5 lvl 84 Skyward Atlas, catalyst.
"Lisa.../Lisa!!!" Both you and Amber said simultaneously. Lisa look at the both of you and smile. She then narrowed her eyes at Jean who slowly recovered from the attack.
"I'm sorry, Jean... But I cannot let you hurt our grace anymore." Lisa firmly said as Jean look at her with shock, then betrayal.
"To think you've also manipulated Lisa to do your biddings, such an evil imposter, I cannot let you live any longer." She angrily said, as she charge again towards you, Lisa stops her again the second time.
"What are you doing just standing there, Amber?!?! Lead her grace away from here!!!" Lisa ordered as she dodge a slash from Jean, Amber who snap out of her trance, grabs you on the hand and runaway from the fight.
Jean notices this, and smirks, Lisa then look at her, tense and on guard by the sudden shift of mood, "Thankfully, we have Barbartos on our side." Lisa looks at her wide eyes and looks back at you and Amber, she then screams.
"AMBER, YOUR GRACE WATCH OUT!!!!"
You both look back only to see Venti with his r2 lvl 80 Elegy for the end, who glared hatefully at you, aiming at you, before you can even runaway, he already use his ult on you.
"Heh~ Think you can get away? Imposter."
"YOUR GRACE!!!/YOUR GRACE!!!" Was the last thing you heard before you were knock out cold.
