Here’s a series of board games I’ve made recently.

Astro Asterid’s Quick Shuttle Repair

Derelict ships in space need to be fixed quickly, so they call on Astro Asterid to repair them! Carry resources through the halls of various ships to repair systems that have crashed. The more resources you carry, the slower you move, and the more likely more systems will go offline! Move quickly but strategically to repair all the systems before time runs out!

Treasure by Torchlight

A single player dungeon crawling role playing game featuring cute little mammal characters in a fantasy setting. Journey through dungeons collecting treasure and defeating monsters to level up your character so you can take on the final boss! But be careful, with every step you take your torchlight grows dimmer. Keep that torch lit as you explore randomly generated dungeons!

Treasure by Torchlight: Bite Size

This is a mint-tin version of the same game. This “bite size” version contains everything the full size game does. An enormous game in a tiny package!

Noah’s Ark

A very simple mint-tin game for young players. Move down the landscape collecting animals and bringing them one by one back to the ark. But hurry up! The flood waters are rising! Count up points at the end of the game and see if you got a high score!

The Longest Week

In the middle of a zombie apocalypse you manage to find shelter and call for help. However, help won’t arrive for 7 days. During the day scavenge for weapons, farm for food, or gather resources to strengthen your gate because when night falls the zombie horde attacks! As the days progress the horde outside grows larger and stronger. Can you survive the week and be rescued?

And then in s2 Companion to Owls, he saves both kinds of kids.

My midterm for my fibers class! All naturally dyed, and the embroidery took forever. The prompt was more or less “do something with color,” so I thought I’d do the story of Noah with the rainbow.

Noyes family designs: part three

Lucy gets her own page because she was… so difficult to draw. I had no idea what colours to draw her with. I still don’t know what I’m doing with her.

Someone PLEASE ask me about Lucy, I love talking about Lucy.

Design notes:

• When drawing her webbed hands and feet, I considered making them look like cormorant feet, but I decided against that. I based them off Panamanian golden frogs instead, because I couldn’t resist. They’re magnificent. Look at these little guys:

• They’re lovely and sunny and have no eardrums, so they communicate with a form of frog sign language! They wave at each other! • I generally attempted to make Lucy look vaguely frog-like. • I thought it would be fitting for Lucy to look bright and sunny, since Lucifer is known to be the light-bringer; I also heard it said that Lucifer was the ‘brightest angel’. No idea where I heard that one, but I’ll take it. • Lucy gets a staff- I will admit that I have disappointingly little knowledge in weaponry so I wouldn’t have the faintest clue as to what type of staff it is and whatnot. While reading the book, I was absolutely convinced that Lucy’s parasol was a means of hiding a secret weapon of some sort, and the most convenient weapon would be a staff. I had high expectations of a flashy anime scene where Lucy converts her parasol into a tool to more effectively beat someone up. This does not happen but Findley can pry my dreams of cool anime scenes from my cold, dead hands. • I can see ‘Not Wanted on the Voyage’ Lucifer being the brightest angel, but as in being the most intelligent angel, not one that is particularly powerful. I don’t get the sense that she’s a combat specialist like her brother Michael, and we never hear of her miracles being considered impressive by angel standards. And I like that- the idea of Lucy being a threat simply due to being clever and tricky. (Lucy herself seems pretty confident in her own ability to be resourceful and wriggle her way out of situations: “I’ll make it up as I go along” seems to be her general motto. She strikes me as the type of person who waits until the very last minute to start working on a school project but somehow always manages to do well.) • Her feathered gown is based off of a common bronzewing, simply because I looked up pictures of birds with bronze feathers to reference from. They’re quite cute as well:

• Lucy’s ‘honey-coloured’ hair was inspired by Hannah Montana. I have never watched Hannah Montana and yet I am convinced that they are basically the same character.

Advent day : The Rainbow (aka Gods covenant with Noah)

Readings:

Genesis 7:1-6

1 And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.

3 Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth.

4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

5 And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

Genesis 8:14-17

14 And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,

16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.

17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

Genesis 9:11-15

11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

I had three days (going for four now) of a faithful real Quiet Time (for my non-Christian friends, that’s what I call my daily Bible reading, devotions and prayer time). I still feel frustrated and anxious over a particular situation BUT, I feel better. God’s Word and prayer really do work wonders for one’s mental health. It’s almost as if, well, God knew what He was talking about when He said we need to be in it daily.

But I’m in Genesis and I always get SO much out of this particular book and for some reason, Noah’s story really hit me hard this year. God cared about him and his family. They devoted their lives to the Most High and Be delivered them. But what got me most is how long Noah had to WAIT. And TRUST. He and his family were on that Ark, stuck with all those animals and each other for a year and half straight. I’m sure they got aggravated and discouraged but nevertheless, he TRUSTED God. God told him he would deliver him and Noah held onto that promise no matter what.

Usually everyone raves about the New Testament and says how it’s more important than the Old but that’s not true. The entire Bible points to Christ and we need both testaments. I’ve been an OT nerd in recent years but right now, I believe that God wants me to be in the Old Testament more than the New because of all the examples of his people waiting on and trusting Him.

I just really love the Old Testament, guys. I love seeing the big picture and being reminded how times and culture changes but God NEVER does and He NEVER goes back on His promises.
