They're here!!! They're here!!! My quilts from @creations-by-chaosfay are here!!!!! Please appreciate my creative camera angle to hide the litter box while still showing the majority of my room anyway:
As soon as I got the box open, I had to cuddle under the twin quilt for a while and only stopped because it was time to go for a walk and it would attract unkind attention from the neighbors to walk around like this in public.
I love it so much!!!!! It's so cozy and beautiful and I can't wait to sleep under it tonight!!! And the mini quilt is gorgeous too!!!!! I haven't quite decided where its permanent home will be, but I love it and it will bring me joy every time I see it, wherever it goes!
Bonus: The first cat to explore the new quilts approves!

Join me tonight at the reception for Claims of Harm, a group show highlighting SAIC community members (where I’ll be showing off my shiny new alumni card) examining cultures of harm in our society, and the ways in which we can address them. My piece Pallid Mourning is included in the show, and there are other amazing pieces you don’t want to miss!
Non SAIC people, you’ll need a state ID to get into the building. It’s in the first floor gallery of the Sharp Building!

Took a year to complete this quilt! Pattern is by NASA Astronaut Karen Nyberg called Cupola View. Fabrics used were also designed by Karen, the collection is called Earth Views.

Blackwater Dive
2024, hand bleached and dyed denim, cotton batting and thread
inspired by blackwater photography of plankton! this was my first time layering bleach painting. All the silhouettes were painted with bleaching gel, loosely tie dyed, and then bleached again to make the highlights. I quilted the piece using my free motion foot to outline each individual animal and tacked down the rest of the quilt with small satin stitches that remind me of marine snow. I dyed bias tape to match. super happy with this one and excited to show it in a gallery setting soon!
