At the zoo you can see a couple of disheveled young women glaring at a zookeeper. "Think you so much, I don't know how our prized lockpicking gorilla escaped, but..."
"How do you think?" Alice says, vocalizing the thought that is obviously going through the young women's mind. "Shouldn't you have enough enrichment for a lockpicking gorilla so they don't feel the need to go out for a stroll? Forcing you to engage these two -- who, honestly, are you out of high school?" she adds in their direction. "Because you look quite young."

Hey! Is there anyone in the Hatchetfield fandom with natural afro textured hair who would be up for giving me some advice on writing about hair care/ a wash day spa day for Rose, Steph, and Alice? I've been doing a lot of research but research isn't a replacement for lived experience. I know how important hair maintenance is for textured hair, and how much it matters to people to have their hair done, so I want to make sure I get it right. If you're willing to give me advice and take some time to talk about that sort of thing, feel free to dm me!

usually I listen to audiobooks when I'm getting ready for bed and I'm experiencing the particular anxiety that just needs Specific Talking In The Background To Hang My Brain On and they're perfect for that but I've hit the part of penultimate peril where dewey's about to die and well WHAT is calming about that

“Are you a dog person or a cat person?”
“I know I’m not a people person, that’s for sure”
"That would honestly be my go-to answer if I wasn't very much a cat person," Alice admits with a chuckle.

Nick’s journal:
I think I’m in love with Charlie. This summer with him and our friend has been amazing, and I want to say ‘I love you’, but… I guess I’ve had other things to worry about lately…
This series just keeps getting better and better.…

Just started reading Loveless by Alice Oseman and gosh I hate societal pressure/expectations.
I had my first kiss at 19 and I was late with being interested in romance (&then really got into it) but I never felt so forced to kiss someone etc as the main character does. It's horrible. I just want to hug her and say it's okay. Not having kissed at 18 is okay. Never kissing anyone is okay. Romance and sex isn't something everyone is equally interested in and that's okay.
