Oh wow, I was not expecting a whole drawing of them trying the dance and falling around. It's very beautifully done, I rmmbr just staring in awe for a while at first 🩵
I have another odd question about the she trio/ass gang, which u don't have to draw
Cause I saw a little video of Harvey going hard; dancing to MiseryxCPR(xReese's Puffs) and it had me laughing for a long while, and I wondered who would be the ones singing the song if say the stardrop saloon had some kind of karaoke night
My head tells me both Sam and Abagail would end up doing Reeses's puffs, but that would leave one of the other songs without a host :/
Harvey would probably end up saying stuff about how cpr doesn't require mouth-to-mouth anymore or smthn, and Shane probably worried Marnie would walk in-or just, too drunk off his ass having fun to care 🤔

Honestly i can imagine them all just being pissed drunk before attempting to sing the song😂. i know fersure the SHE trio would require more liquid courage for it (heck even to join/start a kareoke sesh!)
Shane gives of major Kareoke Tito (uncle) vibes~. Yknow that one tito who specifically sings “My Way” by Frank Sinatra and has a bunch of classic rock songs under his belt. He’s not good at singing perse but he can at least carry a tune. He and Sebastian would totally connect with singing Misery. but like Shane vaguely knows the song (he’s heard it on radio a bajillion times but he doesnt know the name of the song so its not quite on his playlists) so he when he’s super sloshed and can barely read the screen, he tries to sing it from memory and misses a couple of the words. but hey! at least he knows the chorus and is in tune.
Meanwhile Sebastian has Misery “secretly” on his go to playlist. He doesnt admit it (the songs is too main stream and overplayed but he stumbled upon a vocaloid cover and rest is history.) He definitely always chooses the song every kareoke sesh (although not his first choice) and he’s passionate about it even has a little performance too(lots of head bangs, fist pumps and that classic 2000s disney knees bent together, feet wide apart moment)! For his duet with shane he’s the first to shed a lil tear and that gets shane going and they cry through most of the song in their own lil misery world ignoring the chaos around them.
Sam is a fucking menace for singing CPR and I do agree He and Abigail would go off on Reese’s Puff BUT i can definitely imagine being commited to singing CPR (we all know he’d awkwardly twerk). Especially if it was to troll on Harvey who probably thought it was a wholesome song about doing CPR at a specific BPM. 😂
Harvey good lird poor harvey! He’s probably the most sober out of everyone. It doesnt help that he’s no light weight + lowkey becomes designated baby sitter everytime (he’s soooooooo going charge them extra in the morning if they come stumbling into his clinic asking for some hangover cure). He was so excited about adding a new song to CPR tempo list he was gonna teach at the nex first aid classes!! Who would have thought that a singer with a cute wholesome name like Cupcakke was just so… sooooo SCANDALOUS!!! He should have known Sam was up to something the moment he grabbed him by the shoulder!!! “This is medical malpractice, Samson!!!” He spends the whole trying to sush Sam who’s having so much fun laughing at Harvey’s reaction 😂

Help! Elliot has fallen over! He honestly just has a mild peanut allergy but he has been drinking and hooo boi. thats not good. thank goodness Harvey is sobered up (with the help of Sam ofc) and has an epipen on hand! Catch Leah cackling from her seat by the bar before assisting Harvey.

hi an "afab" non-binary here, I love your comics, you shouldn't feel forced to make things to appeal to certain people. "T4T solidarity" extends to all trans people no matter their identities. Seeing trans people happy is what makes our community go round, if someone wants to see the content they want in the world that they'd harass a random artist and accuse them of "not standing in solidarity" instead of being the change they want to see in the world, they never cared about it in the first place.
don't feel like you have to respond or anything, I just know you probably get a bunch of hate and I want to just be a drop of positivity in that bucket.
So I wouldn't answer them, since its obviously a bad faith troll, but, I'll say it here and now. And its not about you don't worry.
I do not, and will not EVER make a comic about someones death. I will not ever profit off somebodies death.
If the only thing i have to say is what a tragedy this is, then better voices than mine have spoken and said that. Just because I make goofy comics doesn't make me an authority on these topics, the internet seems to conflate internet clout with authority when they shouldn't.
It was a horrible act and should inspire action, but it seems more and more that any movements to make things better make them worse these days. That they almost empower bigotry.
I've been through this kind of loss before, and my heart goes out to Nex's family. I know I can't handle the idea of more death, but I know there will be more death.

Not accusing her of plagiarism as I haven't seen it but the latest video sounds idk.... VERY familiar in using twilight as a jumping off point to talk about cishet patriarchy and relationship media like idk it's probably a common topic but I swear I just watched a shorter video essay by a smaller channel on basically that so I hope she credits smaller channels who've laid the groundwork or inspired her if they did and that I'm just being paranoid after all the plagiarism that's been coming out on YouTube
for her to follow it up with the white cryator song and dance of blocking people who pointed out a racist joke and not saying 'hm yeah that wasn't the best choice I'm sorry bad comparison it does come off as me trying to erase and minimise anti indigenous sentiment and racism' she did the vaush fortress thing she does where she blocks and acts like all criticism is the same as attacks /trolling....idk it's very keffalsesque and leaves a bitter taste
but idk I shouldn't be surprised but like specifically making an anti native American joke right after Nex was bashed and killed it just seems like really thoughtless and callous idk but given her history of racism and anti-nonbinary sentiment [though Nex was 2s and has also been described as a trans boy by friends and used mainly he pronouns but also they a lot of reports reported Nex as being nonbinary] IDK I'm just disgusted

Blood Lords is so comically evil it crosses the line to just hysterical at times. Our house has panes of glass made from the essence of like 10k mortals each that perished in the Geb v Nex war. There’s floor made of teeth. There’s a floating head that’s our butler. The graveyard is just trapped to shit because our oracle is compelled by Fumeiyoshi’s edicts to “make graveyards supernaturally unsafe”.
There’s a grave troll wandering around here somewhere...

I am however in a middle of a battlefield full of dead knights and a shitload of weapons to pick from. So you can keep being an offended blacksmith or hand me that bastard sword so I can shoot it through that troll's eyes.

Calls to LGBTQ+ crisis hotline increase 300% after death of Nex Benedict
In the wake of the death of nonbinary student Nex Benedict, LGBTQIA+ youth in Oklahoma are seeking help from crisis hotlines, according to new data from the Rainbow Youth Project.
On February 7, Nex, who had previously been bullied at school, told police they were beaten by three classmates in the girls bathroom at Owasso High School in Owasso, Oklahoma. Nex died the following day.
In the aftermath, the Rainbow Youth Project told KFOR hat they had received 349 calls from Oklahoma between February 16 and 20.
RYP founder and executive director Lance Preston told the station that their hotline averaged 87 calls per week from Oklahoma prior to Benedict’s death.
IN OTHER NEWS: Baird Davies murders: new information from NSW Police
Of those Oklahomans who called the hotline, 69 percent said they were specifically experiencing distress about Benedict’s death.
Eighty-five percent said they also experienced bullying at school or online, and 79 percent feared for their physical safety. More than 10 percent were students or parents of students at the school Nex attended- Owasso High School.
Nex Benedict death linked to far-right TikTok account
Activists have called Nex’s death a possible hate crime and have associated it with an increase in anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric fuelled by social media.
Far-right account, Libs of TikTok (run by Chaya Raichik) targeted Owasso High School before.
In 2022, the account targeted a queer teacher at the school who ended up resigning due to harassment.

Alarmingly, Chaya Raichik was also recently appointed to Oklahoma’s state library advisory board.
“All students, including trans and gender-expansive students like Nex, have the right to feel safe and protected while attending school,” HRC Director of Community Engagement for the Transgender Justice Initiative Tori Cooper said.
“That Nex was only 16 years old compounds this tragic injustice and they should have lived to see a fulfilling and authentic life. We continue to see a horrifying amount of violence against our community, and our community’s youth seem to be bearing the brunt of it all.
‘Extremist anti-LGBTQ+ hate accounts, like online troll Chaya Raichick, the woman behind “Libs of TikTok”, who was recently appointed to Oklahoma’s library advisory board, are perpetuating a vile and hateful narrative that is permitting these types of public attacks.
“Their hateful speech is having a direct, negative impact on the lives of trans and gender-expansive folks, including young students like Nex.”

Aaand We're Dead: Chaya Raichik Dons the Perfect Ensemble for Interview With Taylor Lorenz
The history between Libs of TikTok's Chaya Raichik and Taylor Lorenz of The Washington Post is not a pleasant one. Remember that it was Lorenz who initially doxxed Raichik, showing up at her family's house and leading Raichik to reveal her identity for the first time.
Raichik has owned 'TayTay' ever since, constantly exposing her fake 'crybully' journalism and her hypocrisy on issues like masks and mask mandates.
Recently, Lorenz (who still hilariously considers herself a reporter) reached out to Raichik to ask her to comment on the death of Oklahoma teen "Nex" Benedict, with Lorenz trying to force Raichik into admitting that she was 'anti-LGBTQ' and responsible for anything bad that ever happens to an LGBTQ person. Raichik, of course, did not take the bait and simply replied, 'I can't hear you over your mask.'
These two are not besties, to say the least.
So, we were a little surprised today when video surfaced from the Twitter account Catch Up, showing Raichik actually sitting down to an interview with Lorenz, outdoors at a restaurant.
The first thing you will notice -- after seeing Lorenz in a mask, outdoors, in 2024 (because of course she wore a face diaper) -- is that Riachik simply throws every one of Lorenz's baited questions back in her face, while Lorenz can only stutter and stammer her way through these two minutes (notice also the 'upvoice' Lorenz uses, still trying to fool people into believing she is a young person).
But it was what Raichik WORE to the interview that had all of Twitter laughing at the sheer master-level trolling.
The t-shirt shows a print of Lorenz from her MSNBC interview in 2022, where she cried on camera, claiming that she is constantly harassed. This is, of course, the tactic of the crybully. You attack other people, dox them eve, and then when someone says something bad about you for that, you play the victim and shed some tears. It didn't take long for the image of Lorenz's crocodile tears to enter into the Twitter Meme Hall of Fame.
And since Lorenz has long been exposed as a fraud, all Twitter could do was laugh at Raichik's choice of attire for the interview.
That she is. We're a little surprised Lorenz didn't run away crying as soon as she saw the shirt.
Instead, she stayed and got owned by Raichik for every one of her hypocritical questions.
The disingenuousness of Lorenz's questions couldn't be more transparent. But she was up against someone who saw -- and always sees -- right through her.
Oh, but she was laughing. She's just got a very good poker face. And now, everyone is laughing.
The interview did move on to other subjects, one of which was the topic of pornographic books in schools, something Libs of TikTok fights very strongly against and tweets about a lot.
LOL. Raichik actually gets Lorenz to admit she's never even read books like Gender Queer or This Book Is Gay, while she is defending those books being in schools for children (or trying futilely to, anyway) and saying we should 'trust the experts.'
Remind us: which one is the skilled reporter here?
Here's a secret: Lorenz almost ALWAYS knows anything about any subject she writes about. She is not a journalist, she is an apparatchik.
The entire interview is worth watching, just to see how knowledgeable and calm Raichik is, and how defensive, stuttering, and stammering Lorenz is. Their body language and vocal patterns are VERY revealing.
Or, if nothing else, watch it just for the t-shirt.
It is a perfect encapsulation of the state of journalism in 2024. And historians will marvel at the ineptitude of Lorenz the 'credentialed reporter' and the skillful rejection of her narratives by Raichik, the independent journalist.
Assuming, that is that any of us survive not wearing masks in 2024.
