Where they written as brothers though? I have 4 siblings that I'm close to and I honestly cant see it. I feel like most people are so insistent on the 'they are brothers' because seeing people shipping them makes them uncomfortable. Which happens an awful lot in fandom. I wonder what people with DID feel about the shipping discourse.

i don't think they were. they were written as alters.

i can see why people might jump to siblings. that's not a good description of the relationship, but i can see why someone might jump to it.

anyway, everyone i know agrees that shipping them is fine and normal and something that people need to be quiet about. intra-sys relationships are quite common, representing a variety of things.

(also most people who aren't in the fandom want to be left out of mk discussions. i'm touchy about this one because a few of my friends who didn't care about mk got pulled into a discussion about it and were very justifiably upset about it. this is just me sneaking in a reminder that there are lots of systems who HAVE offered to answer questions and you should not bug the ones who haven't.)

Can I say something. I think that a lot of the time the discussions about Dutch and Hosea often diminish Hosea’s actual character and importance in the story as his own person with his own personality, motivations and role in the narrative of the game

I know I've been joking a lot about them lately, but there is something so captivating to me in the relationship between Paul Matthews and Pokotho. A man who doesn't like musicals and a musical Eldricht Deity.

A relation between a Godly patron and their unwilling prophet that should, by all accounts, not work.

Opposites attract but it's one-sided.

A challenge that bleeds into an obsession.

An apocalypse that's he's own personal Hell.

Being expected to toss it all away and lead the Hive.

It's both really complex and really simple. They are both extremes that have to deal with each other.

No doubt Paul must come across as some child throwing a tantrum to a literal God, with him trying and failing to stop the infection by blowing the meteor up.

In the same way there is something very childish in Pokotho refusing any form of derailment to his script. Refusing other's individuality and wanting everything to go his way.

Paul hate musicals, swears he'll never go see one, let alone being in one. Yet, becomes the the protagonist, the leading man, the star of the show.

Pokotho is both a very controlling and doting patron. He'll force his stars to go his way abandon who they were, but will promise them happiness, bring them back to life anew. Give them apotheosis.

They both are two extremes that shouldn't but works so well with each other.

A heavenly good match made in Hell.

This is why they are my favorite relationship in the Hatchefield Universe. He is my favorite Lord in Black.

They have a synergy, a chemistry that works so well when you consider the implications. It's a toxic one, but also a really interesting one to analyze.

Because I love those imbalanced relationships in fiction that works so well thematically and narratively.

TL;DR :Paul and Pokotho are two extremes of the same spectrum, two extremes that shouldn't work together, and I love them for it. That was my TedTalks !

listen to me. in a swap au ramona's knives would NOT be matthew. matthew got over his heartbreak fairly easily once he had his own musical to perform on and knives does not have that kind of emotional resilience in the face of scott's shittiness she is seventeen years of age. matthew would more likely be like kim or something. he's hiding stuff and he never got closure but at least he has a healthy outlet for his emotions which helps him come to terms with it in some sense. knives would be ROXY. heartbreak central.

something about rewatching s1 of yellowjackets, and catching glimpses and little moments of lottie and nat just seemingly always being near and like orbiting each other...

Sex education s4 did such a good job of showing how making clothes is different for poor people. Ruby's shock when she asked Abbi where she got her dress and Abbi said she made it herself was so honest.
