hey! i'm opening commissions for writing and editing!
if you don't recognize my URL, i'm driflew and skelew on ao3. my most popular current work is the Lamplight AU on skelew, which is the account i’ve been using the most recently, but i've got quite a few works around. take a look at those links for examples of my work and the tone/content i'm best at!
💀 slots:
i've not done this before and am testing it out, so to start i'm only going to have three writing comm slots. if all goes well, i'll probably open them again once i finish, but i don't have a timeframe for how long this will take
i'll also do three editing slots, but those might refresh sooner
💀 price:
writing comms, the rate i'm thinking is 5 cents a word.
(that's $5 for 100 words, $25 for 500 words, and $50 for 1000 words)
editing comms, the rate i'm thinking is $5 for every 1000 words read
💀 what i'll write:
for fandoms, i'm definitely open to write for third life, one piece, and magnus archives. i'd be willing to hear out other fandoms i'm familiar with, like blue exorcist or certain webcomics, but might refuse if i'm not as familiar
for content, you can assume i'm willing to write something similar in content or tone to anything i've already posted. i'll write fluff, angst, character death, and i'd be willing to talk about some amounts of horror / gore, certain romance/ships
if you have questions about specifics about what i'll write, just ask!
💀 what i won't write:
poetry, nsfw (i just don't have the skillset for it), super heavy gore, ships i'm not into (as a general rule i'm not interested in incest or adult/minor)
....pretty sure this wont come up but im not writing any academic essays for you people either
i also reserve the right to just say no because i don't want to
if you have questions about specifics about what i won't write, just ask!
💀 how this works (writing):
DM me here at @liloinkoink or over at @asexualzoro to let me know what you’re thinking. we can talk out the prompt you want written and figure out a word count range of the lowest and highest word count you want, and i’ll aim to fulfill your prompt within those numbers
💀 how this works (editing):
what i'm offering is help with both copy editing and content editing.
DM me here at @liloinkoink or over at @asexualzoro with a summary of the piece you want edited and what specifically you want help with, and i'll do my best to help! if you want content editing, i'll be sure to help with as much advice as i can
you can assume the rules about what i will and won't edit are roughly the same as what i will and won't write
💀 payment:
payment'll be handled through paypal invoice
i won't ask you to pay me anything until the piece is done. i won't give you the piece until you've paid me
if you want to be nice and throw me a bone, my kofi is driflew
💀 AVAILABLE SLOTS:
writing: open, 3/3 available!
editing: open, 3/3 available!

———————
“I’m fine, really” you faked a laugh in front of your co workers and told them you could leave with them already but the nurses around you strongly disagrees.
“The company will pay for everything. Treat this place as… 5 star hotel” your friend jokes, she knew how you’ve been overworking these past few days and they are all witnesses.
“Well if the patient wants to go despite her weak condition, she can. But I’ll tell you this, she will struggle for the next days at work and we will meet again”
The handsome doctor enters the scene and smiled handsomely at you. Dr. Jeong Jaehyun. He’s here at the emergency room for his internship, “you’re in good hands” he said.
Ever since that day Dr. Jaehyun was on the lookout for you and has been your company during your stay at the hospital. And when you got discharged, on the same day, he took you on a date.
And the rest is history.
Grew more and more in love with each other, became a huge part of each other’s lives, celebrated victories together and even became each other’s support in times of need it was a beautiful relationship, something rare and unique. And you both knew that it will be the two of you until the end.
“I can pick you up if you’re too sleepy to drive” you tell your boyfriend through the phone, telling him you miss him and that you can pick him up. He just got off from his 10 hour long shift and he was telling you how tired he was. “I’ll be there in a matter of minutes” you added
“But you’re tired too” he said.
“Not as tired as you are. Come on,” eventually Jaehyun gave up and let you pick hin up from the hospital. The sun was about to come out while you’re on your way to him, and when you arrived he was already waiting outside. Waiting for you to come out of your car and give him a warm hug and kiss. Of course you were excited to see him and be with him too. So you ran and Jaehyun spread his arms wide to welcome your warm hug.
“I’m not tired anymore, seeing you gave me energy,” he said but his eyes were obviously tired. You just smiled at him and kissed him softly. “Wow. I really feel like I can run 100 laps—“
“Okay. Whatever you say” you giggle and pushed him towards your car.
During the short drive, Jaehyun already slept like a baby and you can’t help but try to be a better and steady driver for he’s a light sleeper. You can’t ruin his sleep. When you arrived at your place, he was already awake but still sleepy, like he was thinking about something that happened earlier.
“It’s my first time seeing a dead body today. I got pale in instant,” he sighed and grabbed his stuff before you can even comfort him. Thinking maybe he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable, but deep inside you wanted to comfort him.
Jaehyun being a sweet and caring boyfriend… sometimes that is the problem in your relationship.
He didn’t want to share his struggles with you because he thinks he’s making you uncomfortable and he didn’t want you to worry because of him. It’s a work in progress but Jaehyun is a hard job, you thought.
“You know that I’m here to listen right?” You said to him while you watch him brush his teeth. You can see that he’s blushing, his ears were all red and he was smiling while brushing his teeth. And by the time he’s done, he kissed you with his minty lips and walked you towards your bed.
“Well, that’s good morning for me” he said with a sweet smile, hands creeping at the hem of your shirt until they’re inside already. Touching you softly.
“I think we had sex the other morning too?” You giggle while he’s busy kissing your neck. “Want me to ride you instead? You looked really tired,”
“Who says were having sex this morning?” He teased you while touching your boobs gently and making your nipples hard.
Then he stopped and rest his head on your chest. He got up he looked frustrated out of nowhere and you wonder why. Maybe its what he said earlier? Or maybe he just realized that he’s using you now to keep his mind off of things- which is something he shouldn’t. He shouldn’t be using you, he was supposed to be honest. But he can’t gather or muster his bravery to show you this side of him. He didn’t want you to him so weak and vulnerable.
Thinking maybe you’ll love him less.
“I’m sorry if I’m too busy these days. To be honest I feel like… I come home to you every morning and I lure you to have sex with me— and I feel like sometimes I’m just using you for stress relief “
And that’s it. That’s all the honesty he could get out of his system.
“You’re not” you said sweetly and pat his side of the bed to make him lie beside you. He did what you said, now he’s staring blankly at the ceiling, and you disturb him by hugging him and resting you head on his chest. He reached for your hand and intertwined your fingers and went apologizing again.
“Breakfast?” You tried and cheer him up, thinking maybe you can change his mood. You see that he’s trying, he smiled and kissed your forehead before he tells you,
“I love you. I’m fine, maybe I’m just tired” he never let go of your hand, “Can we hug until I sleep? I know you just woke up and you’re about to start your day. But this is the only time I could be with you,”
“Oh Jaehyun, of course” you came closer and wrapped your arms around him. For a moment there you fall asleep too, and by that time, Jaehyun was sleeping so deeply but his arms were still wrapped around yours. You kissed him on the forehead and tried not to wake him as you got up. But you remember what he told you earlier, a part of his struggle but he never shared it with you.
So because of that, you came back to bed and hugged him tighter. Jaehyun needs you right now, and you can’t let him face his struggles alone.
“I know what you’re doing. Thank you for staying” Jaehyun says with a sleepy voice, he wasn’t fully awake but he somehow got the feeling that you wanted to stay with him today.
When he woke up, you spent some quality time with each other. Catching up with stories after stories, you two even planned a vacation because you two realized you both needed it. In other words, it was a sweet time with Jaehyun. It’s good to show your partner how much he means to you, and of course, Jaehyun was happy for this beautiful time too.
“What will I do without you?” He joked and kissed you on the lips.
5 years later
He was the first person you could think of but the last person you wanted to see. You knew that you needed help today, you knew that you could have called anyone but him… but you did it anyway.
“Are you okay? — yah! Answer me, are you crazy!”
Jaehyun yelled at you in the middle of the road, worried sick because you got into an accident and hit your car on a tree. It was because you haven’t gotten enough sleep. Actually, you haven’t been sleeping right for a week already.
“Can you at least be kinder and more gentle? For goodness sakes Jaehyun, I got into an accident”
“That’s the point—“ he let out a heavy sigh before soothing your back and being thankful that you’re safe. “Are you sure nothing hurts? Let’s go to the hospital—“
Where? The hospital that kept you from me? The hospital who took you away from me and ruined our marriage? No thank you.
“I’m fine. Really. I-Im sorry I don’t know who to call earlier” You said and Jaehyun just looked at you. Maybe it will really take years to finally adjust and be completely out of each other’s lives.
The separation broke your hearts and quite frankly brought a great change in your lives. But what can you do? The married life is not for you or Jaehyun so you decided to on separate ways.
But that’s what you thought. You thought by separating, you can finally put an end to Jaehyun’s pain but little did you know, your husband is struggling too. Jaehyun may look handsome from head to toe, he may look so composed all the time, but the man’s heart is still in pain because of you. It pains him that you left, it pains that he can’t do something to fix your relationship, it pains him that he lost you completely.
While Jaehyun drives quietly, you can’t help but notice his ring finger. The mark from his wedding ring was still there, maybe he removed it while on his way to you earlier. But honestly it bothers you more that Jaehyun is still longing for your marriage still.
As he continues to drive quietly until he reaches your place, he suddenly felt sick and broken hearted once again. This was once his home too.
“You know we can split the money if we sell the apartment-“ you started but Jaehyun cut you off.
“The apartment is yours. You bought it and I just crash in with you and gave you a hard time during our marriage” he said.
“When will you sign the divorce papers?” You changed the subject.
“It’s getting late you should go” he changed it again. Avoiding the topic of being divorced. That has been Jaehyun’s ultimate goal whenever you remind him of the reality and or whenever the people around him ask about you.
Before you two get married
You almost tripped in the dark while Jaehyun was aggressively kissing you towards his bed. It felt cold the whole day, but Jaehyun’s touch sure did warmed you up, his lips comforted you, his smiles in between kisses made the butterflies in your stomach flap their pretty wings. What is it with man?
“I love you” he whispered and stopped the kiss. Loving how you look under the moonlight that shines perfectly from his window.
“Funny because I was thinking the same thing- I love you too”
And that was the start of your new chapter in life with Jaehyun. You bought a new place and moved in with him. You get to know every single detail about him, physically and emotionally. You learned how to support each other in all the things that you do, no matter how big or small. You matured together and be better for each other.
It was a perfect relationship and you couldn’t ask for more.
“I will be gone for a couple of weeks, it’s a great opportunity to prove what I can do”
He said in a very soft tone. The rain was soothing and so is the song that Jaehyun played as you two enjoy the weather in bed.
“Well, I’ll be here. You’re going to be great- I’ll miss you like crazy but we’ll have more sweeter days when you get back”
He smiled when he heard your words, blushes like crazy as he flashes his handsome smile and started kissing you. His hand cupping you face, pulling you closer to him until there’s no more space in between you two.
While he was away, your days were normal and you didn’t even feel alone in your shared apartment because Jaehyun left lovely notes around. On top of that, he calls you whenever he can and you excitedly answer it every time.
“I miss you. I’m counting down the days until I see you again and I promise you I will stick to you like crazy glue”
“Oh Jae you don’t have to do that” you giggled, “but I’d love that— by the way your mom called, he was asking about you. Have you heard from her?”
“We’ll actually, I didn’t want to lie to you. It was just me forcing her to call you- Aren’t you lonely? Plus you two never bond”
“We can bond together when you get back. I’m fine honestly” you said assuring him with the truth.
This great physical distance between you and Jaehyun just simply prooved that you’re both crazy with each other and that the love you have right now is real. Of course Jaehyun surprised you when got back. You were surprised that you were speechless and threw your arms around him and showered him with kisses which led you two on the clean and cold kitchen floor, making out like there’s no tomorrow. Whispering “i missed you so much” and “i missed you too” over and over again until you both got tired and ended up laughing while staring at the ceiling, hands intertwined and feeling each other’s warmth again.
“You got thin… baby, what kind of work were you doing back there?” You said with a worried tone, trying to get out from Jaehyun’s tight embrace but he wouldn’t let you.
“I’m fine. So what do we have for dinner? Are you part of the menu?” He said with closed eyes, obviously he’s tired but he was fighting it so he could enjoy this moment for you.
“Well I wasn’t ready tonight, but I can cook real quick. You can rest for a bit, yeah?” You smiled weakly and raked his hair away from his face, waiting for him to answer and open his eyes.
“Sounds like a plan” he said and quickly you two got up from the cold floor and started working around the kitchen. But by the time that you were done preparing him dinner, Jaehyun was already in deep sleep in your shared bedroom. He was so tired that he forgot to change clothes and so you did the honors, kissing him softly and hugging him as you doze off beside him.
On the next day, Jaehyun woke up with a growling stomach and immediately felt sorry because he dozed off without a warning last night. He thought maybe you’re mad about it but your embrace says otherwise. So he dropped the disappointment and admired your face while you’re sleeping and looked at your hand long and hard.
Secretly he got out of bed and went to his unpacked stuff for the ring.
He kneeled on the carpeted floor and reached for your hand, kissed it until you wake up and hopefully you won’t punch him by the time you realize what he was doing.
“Jaehyun—“
“I know- I know it’s out of our plans and we never talked about marriage yet. But Y/n, I love you—“
“Yes! I’ll marry you, Jaehyun! YES!” You cut him off with your answer and showered him with kisses. Putting him on top of you after he finally put the ring on your finger.
A week after you handed him the divorce papers
He was still in his usual all black office attire when you arrived at your shared apartment, you figured he waited for you again.
You caught him fidgeting his wedding ring while sitting quietly on the couch with no lights on, just the perfect city lights illuminating the room. But the mood and the atmosphere of the place was so heavy and depressing, he just looked at you coldly while you put your keys on the table and make your way to the dressing room to change.
You thought that this night will be full of arguing again but you were wrong. He was quiet this time and didn’t even say a word, maybe he got tired from all the fighting and shouting these past few days. Maybe he’s finally signing the divorce papers.
It’s been three months since you last slept in one bed together.
Six months since the last kiss that you shared. And almost a year since you last had sex.
You wish you could fix your marriage but everything is too late you believe. There’s no point in pointing fingers, you knew you’re both at fault. But now that you’ve totally given up with your marriage, somehow you feel guilty, somehow you feel like you’re the bad person even tho you were the one who got hurt a lot in this marriage.
“Baby, let’s talk” Jaehyun said but you just ignored him. Just as you thought that Jaehyun will leave you alone for tonight, you were wrong.
While you were cleaning your face, Jaehyun quietly leaned on the door frame and waiting for you to finish. He was not saying anything, and he was just standing there. Just standing and looking at the floor.
“Good night” You said and tried to pass but he stopped you.
“Do you know the main reason why I married you?” He started and finally breaking his silence, “it’s because I never want to loose you and be away from you- I never want to be erased in your life, I wanted to keep you. Forever”
“Can we have one peaceful night, Jaehyun? Just for tonight”
“No. I will fight for our marriage even though you’re obviously so done with it already”
“Well you could have fought for us a long time ago! But you chose to be alone! We were already in the middle of a broken marriage! When was the last time you said you love me? Or even kissed me? The last time we had sex — I feel like I was with a different man!”
Then Jaehyun was silent again. You turned your back and wished for him to go away, but he came closer to you. You can feel his hot breath on your nape and feel your heart beat faster.
He started kissing your shoulders all the way up to your nape. It was good actually. But you cant be weak just because of his lips and so you said, “don’t do this” even though you don’t want him to stop. Deep inside, what you really wanted to say was “don’t stop. I missed this”
“I’m sorry. I really mean it. Come back to me, please. I’m sorry” he said in a very sexy tone, while kissing you. You turned around to see if he was sincere, and you see him in tears. Continuously longing for your warmth and forgiveness.
And so you returned the kiss, but this has consequences. You promised to yourself that this will be the last time. And you will eagerly find the courage to move out and leave him. Officially.
Jaehyun motioned you to your shared room, kissing you endlessly and holding you closer even though there’s no more space between you two. He was that desperate not to lose you anymore. He was gentle and soft the whole time, almost as if he had brought you back in the past when you’re still a happy couple.
You felt his hand slip inside your thin shorts, enough to let you know whats about to happen next. You helped him removed his clothes, he did yours too. And the whole time he thought that you were loving this, but the truth is you were just horny at the moment.
He started by kissing you softly, all the way down to your lower abdomen and finally on your very wet sex. You felt Jaehyun’s hot tongue go up and down on your slit oh so slowly, gripping your thigh and trying to stop them from moving. He once again met your lips, allowing you to taste yourself. This time his hands were all over your body, kneading your boobs and pinching your nipples just how you like it.
Oh it feels good you thought. You can’t remember the last time Jaehyun was like this in bed.
“I’m sorry” he whispered. Making sure that you’re still on the same page before he continues.
He was waiting for your response. Kissing you softly and whispering his apologies, holding you tenderly and letting you know that he’s sincere. “It hurts me Y/n. It hurts me that our marriage is falling apart. Let me win you back please-“
You cut him off with a hungry kiss. Holding him by the nape and drying his tears away. But just as you were about to reach in for another kiss, he slammed his cock in your hole and made you grip his shoulders and moan so loud. Oh how you’ve missed this.
“Condom” you quickly reached for the bedside drawer and opened one packet, not knowing that Jaehyun got offended with your actions…
Condom? He said to himself. I’m your husband, I’m not a hookup.
“Hey, you okay?” You disturbed his thoughts.
But Jaehyun knew better than killing the vibe and stopping what you’re doing right now. He didn’t want to spark up another fight, he was just about to win you again and he will not risk it. “I’m sorry, it’s just that you looked so beautiful” he said and planted a kiss on your cheek before he slowly removed his cock for the condom.
Making you feel his thick and veiny cock again. Slowly, Jaehyun fucked you well that you felt dizzy and on high the whole time. He folded your knees and spread it good so he can reach more inside of you, not letting go of your lips, he catches every breath and every moan you make.
You reached for his hand, which made Jaehyun smile, he let you grip his hands even if it hurts him already. He didn’t care, he was thankful enough that you’re holding him. When the feeling was too much, you started kissing Jaehyun’s hand, sucking his fingers slowly. When Jaehyun felt good and became really turned on because of what you were doing, he pulled out and flip you on your stomach and thrust again while gripping your ass so hard.
“Jaehyun fuck— I’m weak” he reach for your arms to keep you close to him, skin to skin, your back on Jaehyun’s chest. It felt so good. He even doubled the pleasure by reaching down to your wet pussy and run his fingers on your slit to stimulate you. “That’s too much” You said but you were too weak at this point that you landed on the mattress and get away from Jaehyun’s grip.
“You came already. I thought we were gonna cum together?” He asked in sweet tone while kissing your back, hands still moving around your body, kneading your boobs, pinching your nipples. You love it.
“You’re so tight in this position-“ Jaehyun said and continue fucking you again. Spreading your legs from behind and fucking you hard. Even harder than earlier that your face is buried in your white sheets and gripping it tight for you are so overstimulated already.
When Jaehyun finally came, he pulled and removed the condom before pumping his cock and feel his hot cum land on your skin. You can tell that Jaehyun wanted another round with you. But all he can say was he was aware that you two haven’t had good sex for months.
“It’s just that I know that were not okay, and I didn’t think that sex will fix anything. I was afraid I’d annoy you even more. I was giving you space- I’ve had enough of giving Y/n. I want to take you back”
You feel bad about the condom and you realized what you just made him do while you were listening to what he was saying. You covered your face with your arm and said sorry over and over again. How could you treat him like this? Was asking for divorce wasn’t enough that you had to hurt him in bed like this too?
“You did nothing wrong. We can go for another round without one if you want” he smiled and planted kisses on your face. Tears started falling from Jaehyun’s eyes and you were quick to dry them.
“I feel so lost Y/n. Come back to me” he finally said it, reaching for your bedside drawer to get your wedding ring and make you wear it again. He kissed your hand. Over and over again. And you can see that Jaehyun really cares for your marriage.
But that didn’t change anything.
A week after, Jaehyun found the divorce papers on the dining table and felt his heart break over and over again. How could you do this, he thought. He knew that sex wasn’t the answer to fix your marriage, but wasn’t his sincerity enough? He showed you he couldn’t live without you. He said his heart was still full of love for you. He even admitted that he was lost and he needed saving.
When you got home one night, Jaehyun was nowhere to be found. His things were gone, half of the apartment was empty but the divorce papers were still unsigned. You well knew that you hurt him so much this time.
Later that night, he called you. He was drunk and wasn’t in his right mind. Of course you were worried sick but he was eager to give the space you’ve been asking for.
“Come home- at least for tonight. Where are you? I’ll pick you up”
“No. You wanted this. I’m giving it to you- what have I done wrong?” He said in his drunken state, cursing his life every minute, trying so hard to stay up while downing bottles of liquor.
When he ended the call, you went out immediately to find him. Went to every bar you knew and hope that he’s there, you got lucky at your sixth try. The bar was closing already and Jaehyun was sleeping on the table, your heart broke when you suddenly remembered that you put him into this position and your heart broke once again when you saw the tissue on the table, with a note that says.
“Call my wife”
When you brought him home safe and sound, Jaehyun was still drunk and wasn’t aware of his surroundings. He was crying and was still asking for more alcohol like he was still at the bar, little did he know his home and you’ve already taken care of him.
“Don’t go” he murmurs. “Stay for the last time” he said with tears in his closed eyes.
You gave in to his request, tucked him in bed and lay beside him. He was not a stranger but he’s about to become one. You try to forget how warm he feels whenever he hugs you, you try to forget how he usually helps you relieve your stress in just one hug, you try to forget the old Jaehyun that you long for so much. The one that was long gone already.
“You changed Jae, that’s what you did wrong” you whispered and planted a kiss on his forehead, knowing that he is already in deep sleep.
Present day
It been a week since the accident and you don’t know what happened but Jaehyun got his bravery back again. One night, you got home from work and you see fresh flowers in the middle of the dining table. You figured maybe Jaehyun visited while you were at work. But his intention was not to visit the place, but to help you take care of yourself. He bought grocery supplies and checked the place. He figured you didn’t have time for these because you were so busy.
One time, he knew that you were working from home and he ordered food for you. You were surprised by the sudden food delivery but nonetheless you were happy because you were starving already.
“Okay, what’s the catch?” You finally called him and thanked him for his efforts.
“I’m your husband, I’m just doing my job”
I wish you could have done this before and save our marriage, you thought.
“Hey, I know what you’re thinking. Who knows maybe I can still change your mind?” He joked but he was half serious. “Are you free on Saturday?”
“I’m not going on a date with you”
“It’s mom, she wanted to see us” Jaehyun bit his lower lip and and continued, “we should tell her the truth together. She deserves it. After that…” he let out a heavy sigh, “I’ll sign the papers. And I will be out of your life. Completely”
“We can stay as friends “ you said without hesitation. It was quiet for a moment and you can hear that he’s still at the hospital. Being the good doctor that he is.
You heard him fake a giggle, knowing all too well that what you said hurt him. “We can’t be friends Y/n. I love you too much. Still. It will take years for me to forget you,”
“Just let me love you while I still can” he added.
Before Saturday comes, Jaehyun was making incredible effort for you and if you’re being honest. You’re enjoying it. It was as if you’re newly weds again. There isn’t a day where Jaehyun makes you smile, takes care of you, drive you to work or pick you up,
One night, when the rain was incredibly strong, you prepared a warm bath for him which he liked. Memories overflowing as he takes a bath alone, he remembers many heated moments, sweet talks … and even fights.
“Okay stay still, how was your shower?” You asked him while you dry his hair with a towel.
“Could have been better if you joined me” he joke, you just laughed and hit his shoulder softly. “It was nice, thanks for preparing it for me” he said and wrapped his arms around your waist while you’re standing in between his legs. You knew what he wanted, but you cant be weak again.
“It will be cold tonight, h-how many layers do you want?” You tried avoiding his sweet kisses which eventually he gave up and answered your questions, “three please. And some thick socks, my toes are freezing”
You boop his nose and left him. Bringing back the layers he asked and the pair of socks he asked for. But by the time you got back, he was already sleeping. You were sure the moment you saw him earlier, Jaehyun was tired to the bone but he still managed to pick you up from work, show you a bright smile and well, make your day perfect. When it was your time to rest, and call it a day, after a few minutes Jaehyun joined you in your bed. This bed used to be for two people who loves each other, now its half empty Jaehyun thought.
He noticed you still sleep on your side of the bed, as if you still wait for him to come home and fill in the empty space.
“Jae,” you felt his presence and got up from your comfort, he was about to leave the room to give you privacy, “stay. sleep here, it’s cold outside”
Oh how he wish to hear those words from you to save your marriage.
He almost teared up but he didn’t show you. Instead, he lay beside you, on his side of the bed. It felt like he was home again, especially now that you’re beside him. To be honest, he’s not tired anymore, he didn’t even want to sleep again.
“Comfortable?” You asked him sweetly, pulling the blanket to cover your bodies. Now you’re face to face, and comfortable even though it’s been such a long time since you two shared this bed. The moonlight was perfectly lit in your shared room, and you can’t help but notice how his wedding ring shines because of the moonlight. But Jaehyun didn’t let you ruin the mood, he was quick to pull you closer and remove the ring while you can’t see his hand. And by the time you met eyes again, he made you laugh by saying an old joke you used to tell each other.
Time flies so fast that the sun is already up, telling everyone to start their day. But you and Jaehyun are currently meeting in your dreams right now.

Single Dad Appeal
It's that time again! GO VOTE! I am sad I didn't get to vote for Dust. It seems like I never get to vote for my favorite boy as he always loses by the time I find the polls he's in. At least I got to vote for Nightmare, though currently, Horror is winning...
I wasn't going to do this but... here we go.... maybe it will be just this one. I just couldn't help it... as just looking at the poll made me think of this story...
---
“Dust!” Nightmare snapped, getting the other skeleton’s attention from his book.
“yeah, boss?” Dust looked up lazily, a feeling of confusion coming from him. To be expected, Nightmare rarely snaps at any of them without them doing anything.
“How is it that you lost to Fresh?” Nightmare asked as he set down the laptop. “Everyone else made it past round one, but you lost to that ’90s walking disaster,” That caused Nightmare to frown.
“you said it yourself last time, nightmare. these things are a popularity contest. compared to that ‘’90s disaster,’ i’m not that popular,” Dust turned his attention back to his book. “doubt i’m that popular compared to most of those guys. and to top it off, i don’t care.”
That caused Nightmare to frown, and he folded his arms as he looked at Dust. Well, not this time, but perhaps he can get past the first round next time. Nightmare then sighed heavily and then looked back down at the laptop. “Horror is currently winning against me. There is still lots of time, though. While I would love to see myself win to see the look on my brother’s face when he realizes I am more attractive to the masses than he is, it would do Horror good to be acknowledged.”
Just as it would Dust, who seemed set on believing no one beyond the skeletons in this castle like him. It didn’t help that the universe seemed set on proving that myth correct. Nightmare had paid little attention to any other polls, but in the few he had seen, Dust rarely made it past the first round.
“so, you’re not going to campaign?” Dust asked.
“Of course I am,” Nightmare grinned, “Horror will have to earn the right to win against me. But either way, I will be happy.” He then frowned as he glared at the screen. “Though I would be happier of that glitch had been knocked out during round one. Seriously, I do not see the appeal. Do these mortals not understand that there would be no multiverse if Error had his way.”
“nah, s’not that boss,” Dust then looked back up from his book. “they like man babies. the more immature and stupid error is, the more they swoon for him.”
“is that it?” Nightmare frowned and then looked back at the screen.
“yeah, boss,” Dust then got a cheeky grin, “you know, this book was not as interesting as i thought it would be. want help with that campaign? between killer and i, i’m sure we can make those voting see you can be just as childish.”
“Absolutely not,” Nightmare frowned, “I will not lower my dignity to his standards. If I win, I will win my way.”
“if you say so,” Dust shrugged. “besides, i think you got enough of that… single… uh…” Dust paused and then cleared his nonexistent throat. “never mind.”
“No, now I’m curious,” Nightmare grinned, watching Dust grow more uncomfortable by the second as he waited for Dust to finish his statement.
“he was going to say you have single dad appeal,” Killer answered for Dust from the doorway.
“I have what?” Nightmare blinked.
“look, boss,” Killer started walking into the library, “it’s like this. the internet loooves the idea of someone being a group's mom or dad friend. and as the guy in charge, and literally taking care of the four of us, that makes you the dad of this little group. since we don’t have a mom, that makes you the single dad of four chaos gremlins. add in the tired look you get when we are at our most chaotic, and the internet will adore you!”
“the internet eats that stuff up,” Dust added.
“They do?” Nightmare said quietly before looking between them.
“yeah, boss, make that your campaign!” Killer said with a large grin.
“Would that not be awkward for you four? To have me going around, declaring myself as… your parental figure?” Nightmare inquired, feeling… unsure of how he feels about this.
“nope! since i’ll get to call you dad!” Killer beamed. Ah, this was a new game for him, it seems.
“I do not think that would be appropriate,” Nightmare frowned, though… maybe it wouldn’t be that bad.
“you should let him call you dad, at least during this,” Dust said. “the voters would love it.”
“What about you?” Nightmare questioned as he looked at Dust. The shortest started hunkering down in his chair, which was an amusing reaction. “If we are committing to this, then you do so as well.”
“i guess,” Dust muttered.
“Alright then, during the course of time that I am still within this contest, I shall accent this… fatherly nature that I have been accused of having,” Nightmare stated as he picked up his laptop. He will have to wish Horror luck and declare to him and Cross that they are his sons for now. That will be… odd and yet satisfying. It’s a good thing Reaper is not here currently, as he would find it overly amusing, that is for sure.

Bonne apres-midi et bienvenue, I am late today, not because I have been lazing in bed, I have been up and out to a market with my friend Anie. It was at a chateau so a lovely setting or it would have been if it hadn’t kept raining. Anie is a little bit like me (must be why we get on so well) we go to these markets and look, ask questions but don’t buy unnecessary “stuff” (technical term). We went inside the chateau where there was one room full of books for sale…….can you believe I walked out with four books all in English, two of them are rather big books so I should have enough to keep me going until Christmas. We wandered through the other rooms but it was the “book room” that won the day for both of us. We did have a little bit of a drama as we were leaving when Anie’s car “touched” another one, but no damage to either so it was just a “kiss”. We had a pleasant drive back and then Anie came in for a cup of tea. I was panicking, I had no cake or biscuits, what on earth could I give her to eat with her tea? Well, remembered that I had bought crackers, I put out cheese, crisps, nuts, cornichons and cherry tomatoes, blimey you would have thought that I had conjured up a three course meal, she was so appreciative.
The second round of regional elections is taking place today, and Anie was reminded of the importance of voting as we passed a “polling station”. She will be going out this afternoon to cast her vote.
It is 21c at the moment and just cloudy but more rain is forecast for later today. It also looks as though we are going to have a lot of rain in the week too, but I really do not care as it waters my plants. I was picking broad beans for Anie when she arrived and then I went out to gather my strawberries, two big ones today, there are lots on the plants so should have more over the next few days.
I phoned the gardener and he came out to trim the hedges at the back of the garden. There were two of them this time and they arrived about 9.15 and were finished and gone by 10.05, its all about having the right tools for the job and having someone clearing up is always a winner. Anyway, I am very pleased with the results. I had asked him to cut the hedge (which really belongs to my neighbour), she had said she would get it cut possibly this coming week. When I told her that my “man” had done it, her first reaction was “how much”? Now we are both women on our own and having a raggy hedge on my side was not very attractive so it was in my interest to get it cut anyway, so I just gesticulated that it didn’t matter, I would pay as I was having the back hedge cut anyway.
There has been another Tesco order to be organised for my cousin in London. It has all been delivered and she appreciates what we do to make her life easier.
Marie-Therese messaged to say that she was “tired” and wouldn’t be coming to town this week. I asked if we had done too much last Saturday, but she didn’t think it was that, her dog had got out of the garden and she had been looking for him with her neighbour and she thinks it was that that had tired her.
I mixed up my cleaning rota this week and spent a lot of time working downstairs and in the garden. knew I had done too much in the garden when I found that I couldn’t bend down without pain, but aren’t you supposed to work through the pain barrier? Even though I say so myself the garden does look good.
I went for my second vaccination, yippee I am fully vaccinated, I am so pleased. Still wearing my mask, carrying my hand sanitizer and keeping my distance but that’s how I want to be, don’t want to risk anything.
So apart from receiving my water bill for the period January to June 2020, having to pay my car insurance, plus MOT and pre-MOT service, pay the gardener, I received a message from the man who is going to lay my terrace he said he will come either the end of this coming week or the week after………….it’s all payout! Never mind I will have a very smart garden (I hope), my car insured for another year and an MOT for the two years, can’t be that bad can it?
“The Paralegal” has had another fraught week this last week, he knows that the first three days of next week will be busy due to the end of the stamp duty holiday, then he will just have two days left to work before he waves bye bye to that firm. Then we can both have a bit of relax before he starts work again. He is going for his first vaccination this coming Tuesday, that is good too.
Lucy has been going to work but has managed to catch up with “The Paralegal” and he was able to see the babies “Tilly and Chester” too. I know that always makes him happy. Lucy has worked out her final result for the course she has taken and she should be very pleased with the result.
“The Mummy” has finished her final assignment for her course and tells me that the baby can come anytime now as she is ready. As it is due in less than two weeks, it may decide to hold on, who knows it’s a baby after all!
“The Daddy” has had his first week back at work after having two weeks holiday. He seems to have enjoyed being back and no doubt apart from the “excitement” of waiting for the new baby they also have the new house to look forward to. New furniture and furnishings have been ordered, dear me it’s all about money there too!
Not forgetting my gorgeous granddaughter, who had a couple of nightmares this week (fortunately she hadn’t had a video call with her grand-mere, otherwise it may have been more)! Probably just a phase she is going through. She went to see her great grandma this week, so that was lovely for them both.
Now I really must have a little relaxation, clear my head and prepare for the week ahead.
Jusqu’a la semaine prochaine.
****STOP PRESS**** “The Mummy’s” cat is going to a new home tomorrow evening. It was something that they were going to do before the arrival of my granddaughter but there was not a suitable home for her. This time they have found someone/somewhere suitable and so that is a very happy outcome.

All the judges agreed that a mentor switch would be best for everyone, considering the outbreak from the boy on your original team. As Harley had asked, you were able to switch over to his team and help them with their design.
It was quite good, a few minor tweaks and suggestions that they took to heart helped immensely. The original design itself was brilliant, and while the rest of the members of the team explained the concept and execution, you saw Harley stay quiet. You knew it was his design, and he probably did most of the handiwork, but he let the team take charge. He didn’t overpower them, even though he was likely the strongest member of the team.
The night before judging, the team had you look over it once more, and you wouldn’t have changed anything. They asked thoughtful questions and seemed happy with your answers. It was such a different energy than the first team, you were actually able to talk to them and listen, and they listened to you and respected you.
Harley was walking you out back to your hotel on the outskirts of campus. It wasn’t that far, and you knew the area, but you enjoyed the company.
“Have you thought about applying for the Stark Internship Program?” You asked him.
“Of course, we’re all applying.” He nodded.
“That’s great, I think you’d be a perfect candidate. You’re a good team player, but I can tell that the design was mainly your idea. You seem to have experience beyond your years.” You said.
“You’re one to talk.” Harley smirked, causing you to laugh, and also dodging your question.
“I know, I know, but seriously.” You smiled, hoping he’d explain.
“When I was younger a... friend gave me some pointers and set me up with a lab.” He chose his words carefully.
“That’s some friend.” You raised a brow, but kept your tone playful.
“He was a character for sure. He once gave me this tiny rocket, called it a piñata for a cricket.” He smiled at the memory, but you’d recognize that sarcastic turn of phrase anywhere.
“You didn’t happen to grow up in Rose Hill, Tennessee did you?” You asked suspiciously.
“Sure did.” He answered casually.
“So you’re the wonder boy.” You smirked, knowing exactly who he was.
“He mentioned me?” He raised a brow, and stopped for a moment.
“Years ago. Something about a... potato launcher?” You tried to remember, and laughed at the thought of the man standing in front of you pointing a potato gun at your father.
“Wow.” He laughed, confirming your guess.
“You know, we’ll be announcing the first cut for the program next week and interview signups. Why don’t you come up to New York? I’m sure he’d love to see you again, now that you’re all grown up.” You motioned to his tall frame.
“I’ve never been to New York before.” He shrugged.
“You’re kidding, I’ll have to show you around.” You smiled, you realized you’d reached your hotel, and thanked Harley for walking you.
The next morning was the final day of the competition, and the day all the judges submitted their scores. Naturally, you weren’t allowed to score the team you mentored, to be fair. As you were scoring your first team's work, you saw the boy who disrespected you giving you a dirty look, like he thought you’d score them low for his outburst, to get back at them. You’d actually given them one of the higher scores, as they’d improved upon every error you saw and mentioned.
At the end of the afternoon it was announced that Harley’s team had won, and you were proud. Really they didn’t need much help, but you still felt happy for them, they deserved it.
That evening Harley joined you on the jet back upstate. You wanted to surprise your father, and you could give him a tour of the compound. He’d be a great addition to the team, and he was already familiar with your father. Of course formally, you’d make him go through all the steps for the internship, but he practically had a guaranteed spot.
As you got off the jet, still in your business attire from the competition, F.R.I.D.A.Y. informed you that your father was in the lab.
Harley followed you, trying to keep up as he admired everything you’d passed in the compound on the way to the lab. Through the window you saw your father with his back facing you, tinkering with the prototype you left him for Rhodey’s leg braces. You slipped into the room quietly.
“Dad, I’ve got a little surprise for you.” You announced yourself.
“I’m not ready to be a grandfather, young lady.” He quipped, causing you to roll your eyes as he turned around. Harley stepped to your side and your father raised a brow. He clearly recognized him, but couldn’t place him.
“How do I know you?” Tony asks, squinting his eyes as he examines him.
“We’re connected?” Harley shrugs with a smile, clearly that must have been some sort of inside joke since Tony immediately lit up, remembering him, and hugging him.
They were catching up as you were moving around the lab, showing him the nanotechnology he was so interested in.
You were laughing at something Harley had said, placing your hand on his arm gently as you heard the door to the lab open.
The three of you whipped around.
“Peter?” You asked, confused.
“Sorry, Happy told me to come pick up... my work.” He covered, clearly not wanting to mention the suit in front of a stranger. You hadn’t seen him since that morning he left your apartment, you weren’t prepared to see him today.
And he wasn’t prepared to see you so close with another man as he came into the lab. He looked older, and you were both dressed up, but he didn’t know from what. Peter had needed an update on the suit, and taking your advice had gone through Happy. A pang of jealousy rushed through him, he remembered your words, you needed time, to see if it’s worth the risk. Maybe you’d decided it wasn’t.
“Here ya go kid, all ready to go.” Tony handed him the case, he clearly wasn’t going to tell you that Peter was dropping by or that he’d mended his suit.
“Are you one of the interns?” Harley asked, oblivious to any of the tension in the room.
“Uh, yeah, yeah, Peter.” He shook Harley’s hand with a closed lip smile.
“Harley.” He smiled back.
“Nice to meet you, I’m sure you guys are busy, I’ll get out of your way. Thanks Mr. Stark.” Peter nodded, lifting the case slightly as he turned to exit the lab.
Tony had noticed how your face had dropped into a sad smile for a moment, and as Harley quickly turned back to you, you put your smile back on like a mask. Tony realized that you weren’t over Peter, and after all this time, you might never be.
After showing Harley around the compound with dad, the two of you drove into the city for dinner. You had a few tricks up your sleeve. You knew where you could go to ensure that the paparazzi saw you, with someone that wasn’t Thomas. Maybe the opportunity you needed to naturally distance yourself from him without causing suspicion was to bring someone else into the mix.
And the papers the next day proved your plan could work. “Trouble in Paradise? Stark Spotted Uptown with Strapping New Beau”. Your plan was coming along splendidly, but you knew there were more factors coming into play now. Since you were working with the FBI, they’d told you to sit tight with Thomas until they could find a safe out for you, and that’s exactly what you had provided them with. Once you received confirmation from them that this was a good opportunity to act and distance yourself, you set up another one of your planned outings with Thomas.
You’d gotten what you wanted out of him, he’s no longer of use to you. You knew he had been ‘cheating’ on you anyway. You had the pictures to prove it, him in a club with another girl, and in a dark restaurant, and outside his house. You were just waiting for the right time to use them. After Harley had to go back to MIT for classes, you’d set up a lunch with Thomas. Although he didn’t know that the paparazzi had already been tipped off to your location and anonymously sent the pictures.
You’d reserved a table outside to give them the perfect opportunity to overhear what was about to go down. You began by asking Thomas about the other girl, and he only laughed.
“I can’t do this anymore.” You spoke loudly so the undercover paparazzi two tables over could hear you and quote you, running your fingers through your hair and dipping your head to look as if maybe you were crying, knowing they’d snap a shot.
“It’s over Thomas.” You stood, slapping some cash on the table and walking off.
“Wait-” he tried to grab your arm, no doubt resulting in another great shot for the tabloids. While he knew the relationship was fake, he knew that you leaving would interfere with his father’s plan, you were a crucial factor.
“This was a mistake.” You shook your head, and pulled your arm from his hand.
As you exited the restaurant, Thomas was furious, his father was going to kill him, the election was in three days. A tank in the polls this close could ruin everything!
- - - - - 🕷 - - - - -
“You had one job! One stupid girl! And you couldn’t even do that!” The mayor yelled at his son. Slapping the newspapers onto the table before him. Various headlines exposing his escapades and tell-alls by the young models he’d been courting. He and Stark were finished, and it had ruined everything his father had been planning. The one on top mocked how the mayor had lost reelection by only a thousand votes.
“I’m sorry!” Thomas tried to defend himself.
“You’re useless, you’re never going to make it in this business. Do you know what they’ll do to us now that I’m no longer mayor?” His father scolded him. He worried that without his government connection the other mafia Families would no longer find him useful, and they’d push them out.
“I do know something...” Thomas spoke quietly, unsure if he should share. This caused his father to stop for a moment and raise a brow, but his phone rang, shifting his attention.
“What?” He answered the phone, rudely.
“Deals off.” Thomas recognized the voice of Toomes on the other side.
“What?” His father asked once more, this time his tone was pure anger.
“You can’t even hold the mayor’s seat, you’re not holding up your side of the bargain. We needed you as a segway to the other Families, and to protect what we’re doing here from the law. You don’t have that power now, you’re no longer of use to us. Deals off.” Toomes ended the call, your father threw the phone down with a crack as it shattered. His eyes traveled back to his son, hoping he had something good, a saving grace.
“Go on.” His tone changed.
“I- I think there might have been some truth to those Spider-Man rumors. I wasn’t over that night. And after they came out she was very quick to rekindle for appearances sake.” Thomas explained his theory.
“That could work... that could be our bargaining chip to Toomes. We give him Stark, he cuts us back in. He just lost the support of the Families, he’ll be desperate. The fucking Spider has already fucked with his business once. Stark was already a liability with his plans, and if Spider-Man catches wind of what they’re planning he’ll try to stop it,” He smiled sinisterly, rubbing his hands together in thought.
“Two birds one stone.” The mayor smiled, dark thoughts swirling through his mind.
“What are you going to do to her?” Thomas asked hesitantly, yes he was mad at you, but that didn’t mean he wanted you to get hurt.
“What has to be done.” His father smirked, and Thomas didn’t like what that could mean.

Youtuber Life Chapter 4
Ships: familial sleepxiety and eventual Prinxiety
Words:???
triggers: attempted suicide mention
first  last  next
Summary: Remy Sanders is a famous beauty vlogger and just moved to LA with his teenage son Virgil after their location was leaked by fans. Remy AKA CoffeeAddiction has several million subscribers. Virgil also has a secret Drama channel, where he doesn’t show his face and uses a voice modifier. He just hit a million subs and grows more everyday because of the level of production his videos have, the mystery around who he is and the fact that he ALWAYS has the latest information regarding youtube drama.
“Welcome back to another episode of “the fuck did she say now? I have a DID drama update. I’ve been waiting awhile to gather information to do a long segment. Since she first came out about having DID which has been disproven time and time again she’s tried to make it more believable in the stupidest way possible. By reviewing Chick-Fil-A’s spicy chicken sandwich, five fucking times. I watched all those videos plus others to see if she’s trying to keep up the lie. She’s really not. I swear every time I have to give her my views to tell you all what’s going on I die a little inside.”
“Who are you talking about?”
“DAD! Read the fucking sign! I’m recording!”
“Are you talking about Trisha?”
“Yes dad, now let me tell them about her.”
“She’s a total bitch! I fucking hate her!”
“WE KNOW! Damn it, now I’m going to have to edit all this out.”
“I’ve been looking into DID. And it’s actually a very interesting topic, and I encourage everyone to learn more about it. There will be links to videos and article on DID in the description. DisociaDID has not been on social media very much since all of this. I know they attempted suicide. Not because of Trisha or atleast only partly. Nin the systems host was dating someone in another system called Team Piñata who was discovered to be doing some shit I will not mention because it’ll get demonetized. I actually feel really bad for they system, it seems like they have been going through a lot recently. Now for all the OTHER shit Trisha has said and done over the past few weeks.”
Virgil edited the video and posted it, making sure to edit out the bit where his dad interrupted him and called Trisha a bitch.
Roman texted him.
Roman: You’re a meme Virgil: I’m well aware, fucking Jake Paul Roman: I thought you hated the guy, why are you fucking him? Virgil: I’m so fucking done with you
“VIRGIL!”
Virgil rolled his eyes “What?”
“I have in idea for a video get your ass down here!”
Remy was in front of the camera “K, so what if I mixed all of my eyeshadow together into one?”
“First of all Cristine did that with nail powder and polish and Safiya did that already in one of her weird make up science videos. Second, scraping the eyeshadow would kill you to watch.”
“UGH! You’re right, what else could I do?”
“A Bob Ross painting on your face. you could use only drug store products for something,”
“Bob Ross painting with drugstore shit!”
Virgil shrugged “yeah sure, you could also get lip gloss mix it together and try to make something really fucking weird, or do that with gel polish”
“I refuse to touch lip gloss, it’s fucking gross.”
“Bob ross painting not on your faces with lip gloss and other lipsticks.”
Remy nodded “thanks Virgil, you’re helping my buy it later.”
“No, people at school could see me, you can order it,”
“that’s less fun though,”
Virgil rolled his eyes “fine dad, I just need to make sure that no one can recognize me.”
He was ready pretty fast, with a light brown wig and blue contacts he also had close that where black and purple reserved for the occasion.
“Hello everyone! We are in the car today at our local Walgreens because we’re going to be buying lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner to make a Bob Ross painting!”
“Not on your face.”
“Not on my face, fuck lip gloss.”
“I wasn’t aware that was a kink or whatever.”
Remy glared at Virgil “smartass, you can walk home.”
“Gladly, I’ll be laughing when I see you trying to film and carry everything and talk and pay the cashier. You’ll be a meme.”
“You already got memed once this week, I’ll meme you myself if I have to. Or I could turn you into an E-Girl, you did lose that bet.”
“I absolutely despise you,”
Remy laughed “no you don’t.”
“I really do, and you can’t make me e an e-girl.”
“No, but the people can, there’ll be a poll right here, vote should my intern be an e-girl for the day?”
Virgil groaned “times like these make me wish I was aborted.”
Remy laughed.
The rest of the video went ok and no one recognized Virgil.
Raccoon: I hate life Dukey: I saw, I voted yes, you’d make a wonderful e-girl hiss hiss motherfucker: so did I, suffer bitch Raccoon: you’re both traitors  hiss hiss motherfucker: at least we’re not going to be an e-girl
Virgil was pissed the whole week. “What’s up with you Dr. Gloom?” Roman asked.
“Made a bet with Remus, and lost, I’m going to commit toaster bath.”
Roman made a face “why would you make a bet with my brother? nothing good comes out of it.”
“I thought I’d win, turns out he’s totally willing to eat deodorant if it means I’ll have to dress like an e-girl for a day and make a tiktok.”
Roman laughed “I cannot wait to see you dressed as an e-girl.”
“I can, I’ll be locking myself in my room all day.”
“I’m surprised Remus didn’t say you’d have to walk around in public like that.”
“He did, but he can’t see me, so I’ll be in my room.”
Remy was in front of the camera. “Time for you to become an e-girl!”
“I’d like to say a very special fuck you to everyone who voted yes and that after this I’m going to commit toaster bath,”
“It’s one day, you’ll be fine.”
“One day in my room with the door locked and curtains closed.”
Remy laughed “oh no gurl, you’ll be going out, I suggest you make plans.”
“WHAT? That wasn’t part of the deal!”
“I thought it would go without saying you’d have to go outside.”
Virgil just glared, happy his face wasn’t in frame.
The makeover took well over an hour. when it was over he looked almost unrecognizable, thankfully.
Virgil: Hey, anyone want to hang out, my dad’s kicking me out of the house for the day says I need to be “social” whatever the means Princey: So you do need to go out as an e-girl Virgil: unfortunately, anyone free? Logan: I have to study and Patton is out at the animal shelter volunteering, Roman? Princey: I’m free, meet you at the mall? Virgil: Sure
“Dad! I’m going to hang out with Roman see you later.”
“Have fun on your date!”
“dad! It’s not a date!” He slammed the door and left.
Virgil waited in a café for Roman. He got an iced coffee as always.
Someone shoved him while he was waiting in line.
“What are you? A boy or a girl make up your mind,”
Virgil didn’t look up from his phone “gender is a spectrum and gender norms are fake and I refuse to give into toxic musicality and if you have a problem with that you can leave because I already ordered and payed for my drink and am not leaving until I get it.”
“You can’t change your chromosomes, it’.” the guy said in a feeble attempt to get back at Virgil. basic biology
“How about you stop relying on basic biology and come back when you can argue the same statement with complex biology. If you really knew anything about biology more then the basics you’d know that scientifically there are at least three genders according to chromosomes. Male, female and intersex, and that once again biology isn’t fucking basic otherwise everyone would be a biologist. I can wear a skirt if I want to.”
He grabbed his coffee and left, Roman had arrived a few minutes prior.
“Damn emo nightmare I didn’t think you’d go all out on the E-girl look.”
Virgil shrugged “go big or go home, and I was kicked out for the day so I had to go big. Dad said I needed to go outside. For some reason, no idea why. I mean last time I left the house of my own free will not for school was only six months ago.”
Roman looked at him in doubt “I’m pretty sure you’ve been outside of your own free will sooner then six months ago.”
“Outside? Yes, of my own free will? not so much. Oooh hot tpic.”
Roman laughed.
“Shut up princey, they have cool stuff, including gay stuff.”
Roman shrugged “could be gayer.”
“You’ve been in hot topic?”
Roman shrugged “a few times with Remus, he makes me go, bribing me with Disney.”
Virgil smirked “why am I not surprised you can be bribed with Disney?”
He started looking around at My Chemical Romance t-shirts and other things. He also grabbed some purple hair dye.
“Where to next princey?”
Roman shrugged “Game stop?”
“Sure,”
They hung out at the mall for awhile longer before guess what another youtuber came.
It was Safiya doing a weird makeup science vlog.
“Virgil, planning on becoming a meme again?”
Virgil rolled his eyes “no, besides Safiya’s cool, I like her make up science videos. I just hate vloggers who do shitty content and make to much money through it.”
They left shortly after going their separate ways.
“How was your date?” Remy called from the basement.
“Not a date! You made me get out the house!”
“Come down here and finish filming!”
“So, how was your day of being an e-girl?”
“Got harassed about my gender and whatnot, I fucking destroyed the idiot, that was fun.”
“And who did you hang out with?”
“I told you and again, it wasn’t a date, everyone else was busy.”
Remy looked towards the camera in doubt.
“Well I’m never doing this again, I’m going to go change.”
The video went viral when it was posted several days later.
I saw a kid at the mall dressed like an e-girl a few days ago. They got harrassed at the Starbucks.

Alone Amongst the Gum Trees Part 3 - It Was Murdoch All Along
NOTE - this article has been migrated to Medium. As of 2021, A Taswegian Abroad will be closed down, and all of my writing will be published on my Medium profile.
“For some time, Australia’s democracy has been slowly sliding into disrepair. The nation’s major policy challenges go unaddressed, our economic future is uncertain and political corruption is becoming normalised. We can’t understand the current predicament of our democracy without recognising the central role of Murdoch’s national media monopoly.
There is no longer a level playing field in Australian politics. We won’t see another progressive government in Canberra until we deal with this cancer in our democracy.”
- Kevin Rudd - THE CASE FOR COURAGE
Foreword
I started this as a brain dump on July 25th, 2016 just before I flew back to Australia for 4 weeks. I decided to wait to finish it as an “Alone Amongst the Gum Trees” piece after the 2016 US election as it would have directly impacted the outcome.
That was the plan, anyway. I forgot entirely that I had written this draft for almost 5 years. The next thing you know: it’s early 2021, I’m married, have a dog, a car, and my first child is due in August.
My last political opinion piece was from April 11, 2016: a piece on how Bernie Sanders was being treated in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election.
So what happened from mid-2016 to early 2021? I didn’t jump back down the political commentary rabbit hole. No more rants on Tumblr blogs. No angry posts on Facebook. The odd spicy tweet about the current election happening between my old home (Australia), my new home (Canada) and the messed up cousin next door (United States). I instead chose to divert my love of writing to sports (see https://thefiftyfooty.com/), technology, and music.
From a political standpoint I chose to mostly stop talking, and to listen. Now don’t become misconstrued: I did not ignore it. I was very active over the Provincial and Federal Canadian elections of 2015 and 2019, I followed the unprecedented US political climate very closely given our proximity to the United States (and learned a lot in the process), and I voted in the most recent 2019 Australian election (my third from Toronto since leaving in 2012).
If I take a step back - I still need to be self-critical: I was defeated and I surrendered to the tidal-wave of the far-right. I was watching the US tear itself in two over race, alternative facts, and radical ideology. I was watching the UK go down a similar path with Brexit and Boris Johnson. I was watching my beloved homeland of Australia continue to confusingly elect damaging conservative governments despite the polls, trends, movements and more indicating it was time for a change.
As I matured into my late 20′s and now early 30′s (*gulp*) I was asking myself: was this how it was going to be? Did the western world just decide “we’re done with progressive views, let stick it in reverse for a bit and see how we go”? If that was true, then why did Canada buck this trend with Trudeau in 2015 & 2019? Why was New Zealand thriving under Arden after 2017 and 2020?
I went to a dark place on this.
But then something amazing happened. Enter former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd talking about wanting a royal commission into Rupert Murdoch and his News Corp empire who control 70% of print media in Australia.
Did he say 70% of all print media in Australia?
I STRONGLY recommend taking 15 minutes to watch this video. It will do a much better job of painting the scene than I ever could. If not, you can still read on through.
youtube
After doing some looking into this: all I can say is that I didn’t have to dig very far to have my fire reignited. All I can think about now is this #MurdochRoyalCommission
My world view has changed, and what I am about to write next will explain a few things that I hope will change yours too.
This is not a left vs right piece. This is not a blame, shame, or complain piece either. I won’t curse or abuse, because this is a self reflection, a cry of encouragement, and a call to action to all who live in and want to protect the political integrity of democracy around the world.
I am here to explain my thought patterns with the goal of having at least one more person under the thumb of Murdoch’s “beast” realise just what’s going on, and to encourage that person to make more informed decisions knowing the facts.
The Path to En-frightened-ment
February 2014 was the last time I updated the long-form political arm of my blog. Back then as a young man exposed to his first bout of political and social disappointment after the 2013 Australian election - I felt the need to get it all out and I did in a little more linguistically brash Part 2 of “Alone Amongst the Gum Trees”.
I was in an interesting position then. I was a 23 year old finding his place in the world - personally, politically, spiritually, environmentally. I was mostly deciding whether or not I was done with Toronto and it if was time to stay home permanently after spending 3 months back in Australia.
I chose no. I left. I came back to Toronto and the rest is history.
Then one day a couple of years later I got us flights back to Australia for a visit. After nearly 3 years avoiding it (mostly because of my post-election distaste for Australian ignorance), it was time to bite the bullet and go home for a bit.
In 2014 I mentioned:
...let’s talk about Australia, how things changed, how it looked from outside the huge wall that the government apparently has built around the country now, and how it looks from a bloke who literally can not wait to leave again.
I had been anxious about that trip for a while. Not because I hadn’t seen everyone for so long or because it was my wife’s (then girlfriend who became my fiance on that trip) first time visiting, it was because Australia had a chance to move away from the “ignorance, inequality, narrow-minded idiocy, and over-conservatism” I mentioned in 2014.
But we didn’t. Turnbull won the 2016 election. I was so angry at the Australian people. I was so scared of that ignorant, greedy, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, narrow minded, privileged, climate denying creature that seems to be slowly devouring the planet.
From that point in time, all I could think about was some sort of big right-wing populist shift happening across the globe. Outside of the obvious ones: Trump in the USA, Johnson in the UK and Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison in Australia, there were a few more extreme cases: Putin in Russia, Marine Le Pen in France, Viktor Orban in Hungary. Then there’s Cambodia, Brazil, Turkey, Egypt etc who saw this as a huge advantage as well. It may not be the end of a progressive vision of the world but it definitely seemed like the beginning of a big switch.
One thing I learned during my political writing hiatus while serving my self-induced “exile” to Canada is that this country was one of the few blips in this trend. Why did Canada choose to elect Justin Trudeau in 2015, a left wing liberal, after 9 years of Harper’s conservative government? Was it simply because Canadians were good and fair people? Did they just fundamentally understand that you need both conservative and progressive governments to advance society? Perhaps they do, and Canadians are most definitely good and fair people regardless of election results. I am even set to become a Canadian citizen myself (and a dual-citizen overall) in 2021.
So where is this all coming from? Why are the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom on a continued path to segregation, protectionism, populism and division while Canada and New Zealand show basically zero of these tendencies?
The News Corp cancer that is Rupert Murdoch’s media empire is the deciding factor.
Tumblr media
So What Does Kevin Rudd Have To Do With It?
Mr. Rudd has been living in the USA for the last 5 years and is firmly spearheading the charge in that Rupert Murdoch’s media behemoth “News Corp” has been unlawfully influencing Australian opinion and undermining elections in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States for close to 3 decades (more predominantly in the last 8 years).
Before you read any further I have to be transparent about my opinions of Kevin Rudd. I accredit his “Kevin 07″ campaign as the catalyst for my interest in politics, my decision to study economics at university, and my ongoing support for progressive policies in every federal and state election since 2007. His work has played a big part in shaping me into the person I am today.
Despite my positive position on Mr. Rudd, I am also disappointed he did not action this during his time as prime minister. However, I am “all in” when it comes to what he is standing for, and that is:
Eradicating monopolies in all forms (be it political, business, journalism, etc)
Improving media literacy to encourage fair and unbiased journalism
Avoiding the pitfalls of Murdoch's divisive influence on the USA happening to Australia
There’s a few key factoids to his claims of mass-media bias:
70% of print media in Australia is owned by ONE MAN: Rupert Murdoch (100% owned in Queensland)
Print media influences the national conversation on a daily basis
Rupert Murdoch owns the biggest YouTube channel in Australia (news.com.au)
The line between fact-based and opinion-based reporting continues to blur, resembling that of CNN (Democrats) and Fox (Republican) extreme partisanship in the USA
All of Murdoch’s papers have backed the Liberal/National party in all 19 out of the last 19 federal and state elections
The ABC is breaching the Australian Broadcasting Act of 1983 by not standing up to Murdoch media purely out of fear
Politicians are not standing up out of fear of character assassination
Whether or not Murdoch is backing left or right, Labor or Liberal, the question still remains:
Do you think it is healthy for a FOREIGN PRIVATE ENTITY to own a monopoly level of influence on a sovereign country’s political system for that private entity to use for their own personal gain through targeted media attacks and character assassinations?
Watch This Space...
There are utter mountains of evidence to accompany these claims, and to make sure you can digest what I am trying to say, I recommend that you sink your teeth into the following videos to validate and truly comprehend the size of the tumour we are dealing with:
Feb 20, 2020 - 1h - Friendlyjordies informal interview with Kevin Rudd
This is right before the Covid outbreak in March, which delayed Mr. Rudd’s ability to move for a formal commission into media bias
Provides excellent insight into the ABC’s lack of action, the opportunism of the Green party, and the complete absence of unbiased reporting in Australia
Feb 18, 2021 - 1h 30m - Kevin Rudd Officially Requesting Royal Commission to Australian Senate
The first 20-30 minutes provide Mr. Rudd’s summary of the situation
The remainder of the video consists of questions from both Labor and Liberal senators about Mr. Rudd’s claims
Mar 1, 2021 - 2m - Kevin Rudd speaks to Sunrise about the Murdoch monopoly
Mr. Rudd went on a national flagship morning show to discuss his concerns regarding News Corp
LISTEN to the questions being asked of him: completely disregarding his valid points and dismissing him as “sour grapes”
Channel 7 is not News Corp, so why try to discredit Mr. Rudd? Fear of being targeted by News Corp
Mar 9, 2021 - 1h - National Press Club: The Case for Courage
Mr. Rudd stands up in front of The National Press Club of Australia to promote the four big challenges facing Australia in his upcoming book “The Case for Courage”
He takes questions from journalists from both Murdoch and non-Murdoch media outlets
As I start to conclude this piece, for action to happen, an independent royal commission is required to get to the facts. Mr. Rudd already gathered over 500,000 signatures that were recently sent to Prime Minister Scott Morrison asking for the royal commission to take place, but this is not enough.
Even former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, a friend of Rupert Murdoch and political opposite to Mr. Rudd, signed the petition and said the following:
Mr Turnbull, a former Liberal prime minister, said the Murdoch media used to be a group of traditional right-leaning outlets but has now become "a vehicle of propaganda."
He told ABC television's Insiders program on Sunday that Australian democracy was suffering for allowing the "crazy, bitter partisanship" of social media to creep into the mainstream.
"We have to work out what price we're paying, as a society, for the hyper-partisanship of the media," Mr Turnbull said.
"Look at the United States and the terrible, divided state of affairs that they're in, exacerbated, as Kevin was saying, by Fox News and other right-wing media."
I recently sent a (somewhat long) letter to Mr. Rudd expressing my concern for the state of Australia’s media landscape, with it culminating in the following questions:
I am deeply moved and inspired by your bravery to take on "the beast" as you so aptly name it, and I want to boldly ask: how can I help? How can I get involved?
I am yet to hear back from Mr. Rudd himself - but I think if you’ve gotten this far, you know what I am about to say next.
I want to help, learn more, or get involved.
That’s amazing. We’re not asking for money, just action. Here’s some ways you can help is stop the rot:

Talk TO your friends and family (not AT them) and LISTEN to their views - people are not dumb: this will make sense if given time to digest
WATCH the videos posted above as a start, alongside a few more recommendations:
This interview between Friendly Jordies and former Labor Leader Bill Shorten from earlier in March 2021
I learned more about Bill Shorten in the last 20 minutes of this interview than I did in his entire run as opposition leader.
This just goes to show you how utterly mistreated he was by Murdoch media
For a laugh - every episode of Kevin Rudd: PM from Rove McManus’ late night show
I want Australia to remain a safe, secure, and lucky country to raise my family in someday. I care about this very much and plan to ramp up my content around this until we are free from the Murdoch beast and its lies.
Thank you so much for reading, as always, I am happy to discuss.

The MadaTobi adventure has been chosen...
AND IT’S SOULMATES EXCAHNGING POWERS WOOOHOOOO (purple and green are the same option i just edited the form like a dumbass)
Tumblr media
However, I’ve come to the inevitable conclusion THAT I WANNA WRITE ALL THESE FREAKIN PROMPTS or at least a couple more, so after this CYOA ends, I might just tackle the rest :D Thank you ALL so much for voting! I seriously didn’t expect this much feedback and I’ll do my best to deliver :3 *sends you all hugs, positivity and rays of sunshine during these trying times and hopes that each one of you is safe* Hopefully the story will provide some fun and distraction from the grim anxiety <3
Now, I couldn’t resist writing the first part before Camp Nano started so I’ll be posting the chapter a bit later today once I’m all done with work stuff :3 And as always, a few more notes on the rest of the survey questions~
Thank you for enabling my thotty side. Again ehehehehe
Tumblr media
AND OH LOOK AT THESE VOTES FOR THE ADDITIONAL PROMPTS EH
Tumblr media
+ Virgin Tobirama knows everything about sex; semi-feral tobirama who spends too much time with his summons; Hate to Love; A+ banter, maybe 1 combined w/ secret relationship; shameless Izuna - oh, 3 of these are definitely gonna be in the story ;)
Now, fair warning: it will be long because my brain made me add this huge plot and Zetsu’s fuckery to the mix which will result in his gruesome elimination from existence sorry for spoilers lmao and because I’m hopeless, expect some bijuu shenanigans as well👀👀👀 Granted, some of the plot points and tropes are going to be revealed in the story; like, Tobirama’s obliviousness level and the exact level of Hashirama’s over-protectiveness will depend on your choices :3 Hope y’all have fun with me!
And below the cut, comment responses <3 I’ve had to group some because I’ve got so little time right now but will hopefully be able to answer every question separately as time goes. Again, THANK YOU all for voting!!!
I would really like both options two and four, any chance? This all sounds incredible I am super excited thank you!
The third option also sounds good
I like Plot II and III too actually as well
I wish I could pick all of the story options ;)
I love your work and am so excited for this! I had so much trouble choosing answers in the poll because everything sounds so good!
Chose option I but strongly hesitated with option II cause it could be so funny.
All of these plots sound so awesome!!! It was super hard to pick one.
Argh! Why is choosing so hard? I want at least one of every option in every combination imaginable. That said, I chose plot 2 for the hilarious potential of put upon Tobirama with a sharingan but plot 1 was a very close contestant. I can't wait to see what you cook up. It's gonna be so great! - oz
DUDES ALL YOUR COMMENTS AND MY OWN EXCITEMENT ABOUT THESE PROMPTS MADE ME WANNA WRITE THEM ALL, FUCK IT!!! I definitely want option 4, it’s peak hilarity, tho I wonder if it would work more as a story proper, not a CYOA (I can think of a few interesting conflicts and choices in that verse tho, so we’ll see). But I do love option 1 as well; option 3 may be a little overdone? But basically, just lemme finish this one, try my best to deliver and then put the rest of the plots to another vote <3
I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH AND THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!
p.s. Oz, you’re as always too kind <3
It would be funny if Tobirama was hilariously confident and actually decent at flirting with a flailing Madara but was actually a virgin. Like just completely and utterly shamelessly saying something like, 'yh I'm a virgin so you better make this good. I've got a lot to learn ;)' And of course Madara flails :D
THANK YOU. YES. THIS XD (Tobi would, wouldn’t he. And he very likely will, in this fic ;)
He is the dumbest Bitch alive with Tobi and Hashi running for second place. Bitch should have gotten some Senju dick to calm tf down.
No comments, only applause. You know what’s up
The fandom thanks you for doing God's work ;)
My insecure ass thanks you for your kind words <3
Hurt Tobi to show how protective Madara can be
Bold of you to assume I won’t hurt both of them and have them build each other back up again (lmao ignore my dramatic ass, as I said, nothing but light angst haha. But still some pain because plot said so :o)
Both being stupidly weak when it comes to kids
YEPPPPP YOU’RE READING MY MIND :D CAN’T WAIT TO WRITE THOSE SCENES
CLEARLY. Hashirama, Mito, Touka, and Izuna should all be one giant poly pile. 👀 Also it was impossible for me not to pick the option with Kurama. I love that grumpy asshole fox and I have... So many... Headcanons for him.....
HashiMitoTouIzu poly pile *stares* this... this.... MAYBE NOT IN THIS FIC BUT I WOULD LIKE TO TACKLE THIS IDEA AT SOME POINT LMAO THAT WOULD BE AWESOME :D (will maybe try to write a fic with them for camp nano ehehe)
Also, although ultimately, option 2 was chosen…. I couldn’t resist and added the possibility of Kurama appearing, I love his grumpy ass too much :D (Altho this will depend on the votes👀)
Maybe a child, adopted (kagami) or mpreg
Hmmm, no mpreg, just in this particular fic, but lots of interactions with children ;)
Wasn't he already? ://
ALWAYS
Madara is clearly the dumbest (Hashi is a close second)
YOU SPEAK THE TRUTH DEAR READER, I’M GLAD YOU SEE THE LIGHT
(Personally, I think Hashirama is the dumbest founder lol) But could you maybe make Tobirama and Izuna actually get along? They don’t have to be friends but just no active animosity. Maybe. You obviously don’t have to— would probably love it either way— but ‘tis my request
I may have to write that thesis about Madara’s dumbassery after all lol, be sure that I will convince you
And oh yeah, they definitely get along, don’t worry! Writing Tobirama and Izuna’s friendship warms my heart :3
I love flaily Mads and oblivious Tobes
WHO DOESN’T :D
Madara is not dumb, just a dumbass ^^ Also, bringing in Tobi's sensing is always a YES from me!
Nooooo HE DUMB AND A DUMBASS HOW BOUT THAT XD ehehe oh there’s gonna be a lot of sensing fuckery in the chosen option so I hope you enjoy! :3
At some point please let Mito and Tobirama befriend Kurama 'cause they're all powerful sassy bitches that will bitch slap you into your place and they all put the ultimate smack down on meddling Elders who've teamed up with Zetsu?
Although option 2 has been chosen… Kurama may appear in the story *shifty eyes* AND mf Zetsu lmao I need to kill that bitch. He’ll know pain^-^
Hashirama should be a smiling sociopath a la Symbol of Subjugation style. He knows there's something wrong but, hey, he wants to see his precious all happy :)
Oh, I considered that actually, I adore that fic! But imo it works better with a couple of other plots so I may consider writing him that way for a future CYOA :3
I can already tell that this is gonna be one hell of a ride and I can’t wait!
Hell yeah go forth you funky lil author, you got this :D
Na
Nope nope I have non good luck
Luv ya <3
AHHHHHH YESSS I AM READY
Have fun
Thank you so much guys! <3 I’M EXCITED AS FUCK AND I CANNOT WAIT TO START :D

Top 10 Things You Shouldn’t Do If You Want to Finish Your Thesis On Time
It’s my entry for September! I’ve been busy in consuming new music, films, and kvariety episodes in my effort to catch up on everything. So, I decided to post monthly to fulfill my oversharing Tumblr needs and to exercise my skills in writing in English and putting thoughts into coherent words.
TL;DR of this: things I’ve done instead of doing my thesis for the past year and a half. I’m not romanticizing my not doing thesis self for the past 21 months, but I’m also not dissuading you from doing other stuff besides thesis because god knows, you will need something.
1. Got a part-time job. This was the first new thing I’ve done that really took my time and effectively gave me no time to do thesis. And yet, this was the most rewarding thing as I learned how to get my TIN, accomplish my deliverables, answer to my superiors etc. Looking back, I wasn’t the best employee and I deserved no job offers on the same company after. But still, it was a stepping stone in the right direction. Adulting-wise, anyway.
2.  Discover the art of creating.
Journal spreads. I bought a 2019 planner and I couldn’t fill it up, so I decided to turn it into a journal-planner. The art materials I used for to design pages are from old supplies bought back when I was in high school or stickers from the fandom-related events I attended. I didn’t spend money and I was given a chance to be creative.
Sew doll clothes. In K-pop, dolls that look like your idol exists. It usually comes with one set of clothes to dress it. As a “doll mother”, I wanted to dress them with new clothes but buying clothes was expensive. So, I just sewed clothes for them. I made clothes from scrap fabrics or clothes no one wears in our household. I’ve been barely successful, but it’s one of the things that keep me happy and make me feel like I’ve succeeded in one measly part of my life.
3. Purged my online files.
From my high school files. Nostalgia has been one of my coping mechanisms. I was able to be provided by lots of it when I discovered that I didn’t lose my high school files and it was on my mom’s laptop all along. Being able to relive memories while organizing my files was the best hours of that day.
To my external hard drives. Since 2016, I have been a hoarder of online files for so long that I have two EHDs to prove it. This time though, I was able to delete content that was either repetitive or uninteresting anymore. I was able to shave off some of my data bytes and am now able to save new interesting content available online (if I ever find one).
4. Realigned my priorities and consumption of K-pop as a stan and as a person by:
Selling 3/4 of my merch. Unlearning the pride that comes with owning K-pop merch was difficult, but overtime, I have been proud of myself for not falling to the traps of capitalism—at least in K-pop. Also! I was able to buy my own concert tickets with the stuff I sold so it is a win!
Joining giveaways instead. No matter how I can avoid the urge to buy K-pop merch, I still can’t help but want to own them. This is where I discovered how joining giveaways was my next best option. It takes a lot of effort and screenshots to win these things. However, if and when you win, it really feels like winning against the odds. You get free merch too!
Actually spent hours to vote and stream. In relation to the last point, since the main requirement in giveaways I’ve joined are voting/streaming proofs, I have been one of those people who collects points on voting apps or has a playlist of music videos that should be streamed. After collecting and/or streaming, I take screenshots, put watermarks there, and tags mutuals if needed. It’s relatively hard work but there’s a feeling of pride when your idol wins the poll or an MV reaches a certain amount of views and you know you participated in making that happen.
5. Rediscover Youtube. Channels like the vlogbrothers and their associates (Crash Course, Pemberley Digital among others), Buzzfeed’s shows (The Try Guys, Ladylike, Buzzfeed Unsolved) were a delight to watch after being out of the Youtube loop for so long. The platform also offered new niches of content and I allowed myself to be sucked in it. From Simply Nailogical to Ask A Mortician to amazing pop culture video essays like Lindsay Ellis and Jenny Nicholson, Youtube has all it for you! Learning something new every day is one of my favorite things and I get to do it with this website.
6. Rediscover my love of writing. (As if I’ve written anything for my thesis but here.)
Made drabbles. There is a weekly activity on my fandom where we write < 500 word drabbles on any pairings. I have been joining when I can, and through the support of the (small) community (back then), I gained confidence to write one. I’ve written at least four now and I’ve not done yet because I’ve been on a slump lately. But I’ll get back to it soon!
Short story. The same account that brought the drabble challenge created a festival where we write a pairing and write a short story with it. I decided to join the event! Not going to lie, my entry was shit, It was the first draft, it needed a lot of revisions and more constructive criticism and yet, I am still proud of it. It was the first creative fiction I wrote since 2019 and I did it in a day. And, I believe it has potential, so I’m going to review and revise the hell out of it someday.
7. Reclaim my college days.
Reconnected with orgmates. Visiting Elbi for registration and consultation purposes are brightened up by the fact that I get to do this. My first four years of college were not kind to me. I’ve forgotten a lot of things because of trauma and deep sadness that I still have until this day, and when I remember good things, they’re few and far in between. The numbered days I was in Elbi during 2019 were also few and far in between, but they were infinitely better than my academic years from 2015 to 2017. I was able to do the things I wasn’t able to do before (mostly attending Happy Ts and eating in newly-opened food places there) and I get to do it with people I love.
Made friends. One of the drawbacks of being a slot-driven student with no care of my coursemates’ schedules: I didn’t get to establish a friend group. So I didn’t get to make friends. During this time, I’ve accepted that I didn’t have any friends outside my organizations. But this time, instead of a feeling of dread of being that cliché orgmate, I feel relief and happiness because now, I realize that I do have friends from college, unlike the 2015-2017 who didn’t have anyone in college to rely on her darkest times.
8. Appreciated my friends more. For the past few years, I was the shitty friend. I agreed to go on hangouts only to message them that I’m backing out the last minute—sometimes I even straight up ghosted them. I really took my friends for granted. I have been slowly making it up to them by always attending when there’s an invite! I sometimes initiate the invite and it’s always a fun and healing time for me (it was a literal healing time for me as I was depressed during that time). I love them and I’m always thankful for them—and more so now than before.
 9. Unlearning things like:
Realizing that a priv (a private account meant to be seen by your mutuals you trust; usually contains unpopular opinions and hot takes on stan twitter) only encourages negative emotions and I must not do it again.
No matter how I tried rationalizing my hate for Jennie when the JenKai dating news happened, I was one of those K-pop stans who hated her because she dated my idol. (I have moved on past that and have started liking her and Rose.)
Knowing that attacking people for what they say won’t make them unlearn their wrong opinions. Not talking down at them and educating with patience is the key, always.
There are still so much more I unlearned and learned where those came from. My main takeaway is: it’s complicated.  Sometimes our opinion needs a more nuanced perspective and sometimes it needs to scrapped entirely because it was just wrong. But it is essential so we, as people, won’t be stuck with outdated views of the world.
10.   Learning something new like:
Practicing how to do Tzuyu’s helicopter hands until I realized it wasn’t meant for me.
Utilizing Omegle to look for potential quaranflings.
Installing Telegram and uninstalling to ghost quaranflings.
How to do laundry in compliance with my mother’s preferences.
Doing two things at once.
Enough patience to take time and read the laws our government makes every day to know what I’m fighting against.
Optimizing my Twitter lists and now I can keep up with current affairs (that takes a toll on my mental health) then scroll through a fic fest-centric list the next (that helps me forget the stress from reading news).
Learning something new every day has become one of my life goals. Knowing that the world always has something new to offer to me, a speck in this universe, warms me up and keeps me going. And you’ll never know where the new tidbits will lead you. Maybe it’ll help you reconnect with something you’ve known before, maybe it’ll change how you see things, or maybe it’s something new that once explored, it will contribute something new to the community. It may seem small and unimportant but with a tweak in perspective, it might be something worth doing and pursuing.
Looking back at my list, I can finally see how if I didn’t do all these things, I would have probably finished my thesis by now and probably working a full-time job, able to provide the financial needs for my family. There will always be regret that I am still not done until now. But stressing over my current predicament in this time when the world is in its most stressful state yet won’t help me. So, we soldier on and hopefully, hopefully get back to the thesis I’ve been meaning to do.
 Let’s get it.

PHYLLIS Logan is only minutes back from New York where the actress has been promoting the new Downton Abbey movie. The national station PBS has been beaming out interviews across the nation, given the series about toffs and toff-servers has been such an success in the classless land of the free.
Logan’s voice is soft and a little subdued. She speaks in thumbnails, not given to flourishes at all. I factor in that the expansive, often dramatic language of hyperbole was spoken by very few in Renfrewshire in the 1950s and 1960s (yet actors tend to be more effusive). And I factor in jetlag of course.
But then again, perhaps there’s a little more of her laconic head housekeeper character Mrs Hughes in Phyllis Logan than we’d suspected? “Well, I can be a bit snippy, a bit terse,” she offers, smiling. “But only to my nearest and dearest.” Would Kevin (actor husband Kevin McNally) agree with that? “Probably,” she says, dryly.
Logan’s thoughts on the Mrs Hughes comparison continues: “She was written down in the script, of course, but I like to think I gave her the legs to run. But when you play a character there are always elements of you in that person. You can’t completely step away from yourself.”
Downton is a phenomenal television success story. The series, which began eight years ago featuring the Crawley family and their legion of servants, began with the Titanic going down, and has covered plague, rape, murder, interwoven with romance, often crossing the class barriers.
Logan’s character was voted No 1 Ever in a 2014 Radio Times poll; no mean feat given the subdued nature of Mrs H, a woman to whom flashes of excitement are to be discouraged as much as relations with those upstairs.
Yet, the original script described Elsie Hughes as a Yorkshire woman. Logan reveals it was only when the casting directors heard the Scot’s natural voice that they asked her to read in her own accent. “I was happy when she was cast as a Scot. She had that Scottish bluntness and I felt right because I have known women like her.”
During the six series of Downton, Mrs Hughes negotiated Branson the chauffeur’s assassination attempt, Carson’s Spanish flu and helped Ethel with her illegitimate Upstairs son, Charlie. The psychologist with an apron also sorted out Thomas’s homosexuality. And although she fell for Mr Carson, (or at least lurched slightly in his direction) it took a bit of persuasion before she agreed to a “full” marriage, where he would make occasional visits downstairs.
“We all know those types,” grins Logan. “But what’s nice about her is she does have a sense of humour. And she’s quite forward thinking. She’s a republican, and has a socialist bent to her for sure.”
Does Logan have left-wing sympathies, considering her late father, an engineer, was a trade unionist? She deflects by referring to Mrs Hughes. “She was of a different type. She knew people were thrown into a caste system but had to make the best of it.”
Yes, but what about you, Phyllis? Did you feel working class containment in Johnstone, where most people’s horizons didn't stretch beyond Rootes car plant or the local carpet factory (where John Byrne took inspiration for The Slab Boys – Logan appeared in the sequel, Cuttin’ A Rug)?
“You just accepted the way things were,” she says, sounding ever so Mrs Hughes. “I never thought I’d break out and become posh. But I did think it would be nice to spread my wings a little.”
Just a little? She smiles and adds: “But I didn’t audition for some of the big London drama schools. I thought that was a step too far for me at the time so I went to Glasgow.”
Not a risk taker. Not a wild child. But very, very good at what she does. Despite her careers teacher declaring the teenager was wasting her time with acting, Logan picked up the James Bridie Gold Medal at the RSAMD. On leaving she landed work at Dundee Rep and worked continuously throughout the 1970s and 1980s with the likes of Borderline Theatre. Real talent was revealed. Yet few would have expected her to land the role of Britain’s most popular posh totty in dodgy antiques dealer series Lovejoy.
Aged 30 in 1986, Logan walked into an audition room as Lady Felsham. Logan’s Lady had a cut-glass accent, spoke authoritatively of renaissance art and invoked a world of stately homes and castles. But in reality, Logan’s only castle connection was her housing scheme, Johnstone Castle, where the recognised art on living room walls was a classic Sara Moon picture. This new cut-glass accent had somehow emerged from a world where ginger bottles were a form of currency.
Logan’s clever deception (aided by being forced to speak RP at drama college) revealed that you don’t have to be a loud extrovert to be emboldened enough to convince you are actually blue blooded: you just need to be talented. “I can’t believe looking back now that 20 million were watching us on Sunday nights. The show was so huge.”
Many other drama successes followed such as Mike Leigh’s Secrets and Lies. But did she feel Downton would be the massive success it became? “I read the scripts and loved them. And when I heard Maggie Smith and Hugh (Bonneville) and Penelope (Wilton) were on board it looked good. Then we signed an option for three series but there was always the chance it could have gone down the pan after one.” Her voice lifts. “And then six came along.”
Did this kill the fear, the insecurity that comes with being an actor waiting to be hired? She answers indirectly. “It used to be that you always knew that when one job was finishing another would be on its way. But that seems to be far less the case these days. That’s why it was great having that guarantee of six months' work each year. And each time it was like going back to school after the summer holidays and seeing your friends.”
Logan seems the worrying type, so why volunteer for a life of insecurity? “And rejection,” she adds in soft voice. “And I’ve had a certain amount of that.” She thinks for a second and makes a dramatic statement that seems out of character. “You know, I wanted this part in Downton so badly I think I might have given up [acting] had I not got it. I don’t often feel that. Usually I have a what’s-for-you-will-not-go-by-you outlook.”
She laughs and allows herself a little flightiness: “Somehow I felt, ‘This is mine! It’s meant to be.'" She then contains herself and becomes more Mrs Hughes. “No, I felt I’d like to give it a bash.”
Logan certainly didn’t get into acting for the glory. She doesn’t seem to be consumed by ambition or the fripperies of acting success. She had genuinely forgotten she’d won a Bridie Gold Medal, and mention of her Bafta for Another Time, Another Place, (the 1983 Scotswoman falls for Italian POW tragic romance) doesn’t swell her head in the slightest. What she does want, however, is to act. All the time. In all the best roles.
“I just wanted to be the best I could. To find the truth in every role. You don’t think about awards. Acting has been the only thing that remotely interested me since I played Mary in the Nativity play at primary school. Then at Johnstone High I’d join every club that had anything to do with acting and take trips to the Citizens'. I’d be in any play going, starting in the chorus and working my way up to playing Polly in the Boyfriend.”
But, of course, there have been set backs. “My dad [David] didn’t live to see me graduate, [he died, aged 59] and that was a real shame but my mum would come and see all my shows.”
Logan’s voice becomes more upbeat as she tells of how her mum and aunt landed roles in one of her films, when the actress appeared in a drama set in Spain, The Legendary Life of Ernest Hemingway (1989). “My mum Betty and my auntie Margaret came on set to have a look around, and they were asked if they wanted to be extras. They loved the idea of this, and were dressed up as posh ladies with big frocks and they had all the make-up done.
“But it was a night shoot, and the second night as they should have been getting picked up they declared, ‘Oh, pet, we don’t think we’ll bother tonight.’ I thought ‘Have you never heard of continuity? Do you know what this means? I had to tell the director they’d both eaten something dodgy.”
Betty and Margaret clearly weren’t captivated by the acting world. Logan herself once claimed she wasn’t captivated by actors. She said she wouldn’t have one in the house, that they were vain people. But then she met McNally while filming the 1993 miniseries Love and Reason and they fell in love and married.
“What I meant was I’d never get together with one,” she backtracks, grinning. “But in a way it makes real sense. We know the business. And we can help each other. Recently, Kevin was doing three episodes of the missing Dad’s Army scripts (playing Captain Mainwaring) and I read lines with him every night. It meant I got to play every other character in the cast.” McNally must have found it a delight, given his wife’s talent. (She slips into a remarkable Clive Dunn/Corporal Jones voice. “Don’t panic, don’t panic Mr Mannering.”
But if all that sounds a little perfunctory, Logan, who lives in west London, once declared: “There’s an excitement in discovering that you can still fall in love when you’re an ancient old trout.”
There’s little doubt the relationship really works. But the Mrs Hughes cross voice emerges when I ask if Pirates of the Caribbean star McNally, who has appeared in Downton in the past, playing Horace Bryant, has a role this time around? “No, he does not,” she says emphatically, (subtext: he’s had his shot and should be thankful, a sentiment which sits neatly against her husband’s quote of the time: “Phyllis said it was like take-your-husband-to-work day.”
Was she a bit territorial? “Yes,” she smiles. “I was thinking: ‘You don’t get me a part as Johnny Depp’s mother and take me to the Caribbean. So why are you here?’”
What of the Downton film, set in 1927, two years after the end of the series? It transpires tiaras and silver will be polished until they sparkle. “We get a visit from the King and Queen (George V and Queen Mary) and there’s a bit of friction between the Downton team and the Royal household staff. Mr Carson (now on gardening duty) is begged by Lady Mary to help out. The cavalry ride into town!”
And, of course, there will be lashings of scandal, romance and intrigue “that will leave the future of Downton hanging in the balance,” says the official movie site.
But what of the future for Phyllis Logan? Despite running up continuous film and TV series, success, from Taggarts to Rab C Nesbitt, from the more recent The Good Karma Hospital to Girlfriends – and attracting great crits for her West End role earlier this year as Patricia Highsmith in Switzerland – she certainly has Elsie Hughes’ worry gene.
Logan’s run, she feels, could end at any minute.
“It’s a snakes and ladders life,” she says in Mrs Hughes' tones. “Your career can be going really well and suddenly the snake appears. But I guess I’ve been lucky because I persevered.”
Nonsense, Phyllis. Talent kicked in. You don’t get Bridies and Baftas and almost continuous work for perseverance. “It’s lovely of you to say so, but I’m not sure that’s really the case.”
Downton Abbey is out on September 13

Prince Tom Holland X Male Reader
Chapter 7
Tumblr media
Summary: your parents made a political arrangement for your younger sister to get married to a prince from a neighbouring country, but what happens when you start to fall for his older brother?
Previous Chapter: in masterlist
Warnings⚠️: slight offense language
Tumblr media
Alright,” I said, calming her down. “You know how parliament works, right?” I asked. “Yeah, we have to know,” said in a matter of fact tone. “Well, we can fight the law that makes it illegal to be attracted to members of the same sex,” I said. “How?” She asked. “You didn’t let me finish,” I continued, “our parliament doesn’t have absolute parliament, which means if we get enough people to vote in our favour, we can overrule parliament’s decision and we wouldn’t even need the King and Queen.” “Ok, but how would we get the people on our side?” Sylvia asked. “By asking around and seeing where they stand. We’d be able to see if we should go straight to parliament or if we need to get more people on our side,” I told her. “Again, how do we get the people on our side?” She asked again. “I have my ways,” I smirked. “You are a very convincing man,” she said. “I am indeed,” I confirmed. “What If mom and dad, or Kind Dominic and Queen Nicola try and stop us?” She asked. “They wouldn’t be able to,” I assured her, “No one would be able to.” “Good, I don’t want to marry Prince Sam,” she said. “I know,” I said as I pulled her in to a hug. “Thank you,” She said softly. “You know I love you,” I said. “I know,” she said quietly. We sat there for a good chunk of time until Sylvia decided that she wanted to forget about wedding in general for a while.
Tumblr media
We decided to practice our swordsmanship, like we did when we were children. I’ve always loved sword fighting, and Sylvia liked to play pirates, just like we had read about in books. Sylvia and I are best friends, we didn’t really have any other friends, only eachother. We had a very few royal friends, and we hardly ever got to see them. We would mostly play with eachother, sometimes we got to play with the srevants’ children, but not much. We practically did everything together, practiced playing instruments, read, ride horses, learn how to properly act like royalty, ...etc. When I heard that Sylvia was going to have to get married and leave I was a a little more bit saddened, but it would happen eventually. I always thought I would be the first to get married, being the oldest and all.
Eventually, we got tired out and went to prepare for dinner. I got out of my sweaty clothes as fast as I could, and I washed up. As I did, I thought about all the things I did today, I prayed my archery skills, I read a bit, promised to teach Gorge to read, I got to catch up with Sylvia, and practice sword fighting, it was an overall good day, except for learning that I’m most likely going to have to try and change the law all so Sylvia doesn’t have to marry Prince Sam, but it’s for the better, for Sylvia’s happiness and for people like me. It’s going to be hard, but it will be worth it. I finished up and changed and started heading to Sylvia’s chambers to escort her to dinner.
Tumblr media
“How was your day?” Thomas asked. “My day was pretty good, what about yours?” I replied. “Good,” he answered. “What did you do today?” He asked. “Well, I practiced archery and sword fighting, I read a little, and caught up with Sylvia, not particularly in that order. And you?” I told. “I just had a meeting with Haz about trade between our countries,” he said. “Fun,” I said. “Not really,” he corrected me. “Oh,” I said plainly. “Are you ok? It looks like you have something on your mind,” He asked. “I’ll tell you about it later,” I replied rather quickly. “Could I have some ale?” I asked. “Our finest ale for Prince (Y/N)!!!” Thomas shouted. “No! Not your finest, just whatever is fine!” I said. “Are you sure you’re ok?” He asked, “I’ll tell you after dinner,” I said as someone placed a cup of beer in front of me. “Promise?” He asked. “Promise,” I replied. I finished my dinner and downed my beer pretty quickly. Everyone finished soon after.
“You ready?” Thomas grabbed my hand, Sylvia smirked. “Yeah” I said as we headed to my room.
Tumblr media
We made it to my room and sat on the bed. “Where should I start?” I said asked. “How about the beginning?” Thomas giggles, I chuckled a bit as well. “First, how much do you know about parliament?” I asked. “Not much,” Thomas said. “Damnit,” I said under my breath. “Ok, neither of our parliaments have absolute sovereignty,” I started. “No offense, but this isn’t all that interesting,” Thomas said. “Well I find it interesting, and in this case useful,” I said. “Of course you would find it interesting,” he replied. “What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked. “Nothing, I think it’s sorta cute,” he replied. “Of course you would,” I said, he smiled. “Stop distracting me, this is important,” I said, getting us back on topic. “Ok,” he said in mock defense. “Point is Sylvia doesn’t want to marry Sam,” I said. “Neither does Sam,” Thomas said. ‘How convenient,’ I thought. “But we still need for a union between the two royal families,” I went on. “Ok, Promise you won’t get all freaked out on me?” I asked, nervously. “Promise,” Thomas said. “Here we go,” I said under my breath, “I really like you, but I don’t want to rush into things, we only just met not that long ago and Sylvia’s in love with someone else and so I was hoping that we could get married so that she doesn’t have to, but I don’t want to make things awkward between us and I just-” “I’ll do it,” Thomas interrupted. “You will? Thanks you so much,” I wrapped my arms around Thomas. “I get it, I feel the same way,” he said. “But how are we going to do it? Marriage between two members of the same sex is illegal.” He said. “I was trying to tell you how we can make it legal before you told me it was kinda boring,” I explained. “Oh, sorry,” he said. “It’s ok,” I said. “Basically, we just need a bunch of people on our side and we can overrule parliament,” I wanna explained to him. “What If the King and Queen decide they want to stop us?” He asked. “If we have enough people on our side, they won’t be able to,” I said. “Lest start recruiting people tomorrow,” Thomas said. “How about right now?” I asked. “What?” Thomas asked. “I know a ton of people who would be on our side,” I told. “It’s a relatively short horse ride,” I said. I grabbed his and started running to the horse stables.
Tumblr media
“Where are we going?” Thomas asked as we approached the stables. I ignored his question and asked one of my own Instead, “can I ride Barnaby?” I asked. “I guess,” Thomas replayed, still obvious confused. I got on Barnaby as fast I as could. “Come In we don’t have to to get out another horse, get on,” I said to Thomas. I helped as much as I could to get on Barnaby. I took off as fast as I could. It felt great, the wind rushing through my hair, Thomas’ arms wrapped around my waist, the adrenaline. After quite a while we made it to our destination. I hopped off and helped Thomas down, and tied Barnaby to a poll.
“Where are we?” asked Thomas. “It will all make sense in a second,” I informed. I approached the door, and did the secret knock, a little slot opened up revealing a pair of eyes. “What’s the password?” The man said. “Leonard, it’s me, (Y/N),” I said. “You still need to say the pas-” “fine, blueberries,” I cut him off. The slot shut and there were a few sounds before the door opened, revealing Leonard. “How are you Leonard?” I asked. “Good and you?” He replied. “I’m good,” I answered, “I have an important announcement, you may get want to come with us,” I said as he licked the door, he just nodded in response. I lead the way down the dark hallway and through a door into a much shorter hallway and finally through the big black curtain, revealing a bunch of my friends. “(Y/N)!!!” Multiple people cheer, at my arrival. “Can I get you anything, (Y/N)?” The bartender asked. “Just the usual, Thanks John,” I replied as placed some money down on the bar. As John was getting my beer, Thomas leaned over and whispered, “those men are dressed like woman,” into my ear. “I know, isn’t it great?” I whispered back, he just gave a confused look. Thomas opened mouth to say something, but was interrupted by John giving my beer. “(Y/N), how you doing?” One of my friend’s Greg said. “Good, but I don’t have time to catch up, I have something important to do,” I said as I got up on a table. “May I have everyone’s attention?” I said loudly, the place got quiet as everyone turned their attention to me. “I need your help. What I’m going to do will be risky, it will be dangerous, but it will be for the greater good,” I motioned for Thomas to get up on the table with me, “Thomas and I plan to get married,” I said as raised his and my intertwined hands above our heads, the room interrupted with cheers. “But as you know it is highly illegal, that’s why we need your help if we can get enough people on our side, we can take it to parliament and even overrule their decision,” I shouted, cheers rang out again. “Tell your friends, especially the guys who aren’t here right now,” I reminded. “Does anyone know where the ‘sodomites’ of Thomas’s kingdom, Bisosal, hangout?” I asked, I hate that that word, “sodomites” it’s so derogatory, but it’s the only word we’ve got. “Yeah,” someone said. I hopped down and got the information I needed from them and grabbed Thomas and headed towards the door. I chugged my beer and placed my cup on the counter and left, saying good bye to Leonard.
Thomas and I got on Barnaby, and took off. “You’re going in the wrong direction,” Thomas said. “We have to make another stop first,” I replied.
Tumblr media
We arrived at the bar and repeated the same process as the first one. As we entered the actual bar part, the room fell silent as everyone’s eyes burned through our souls. “It’s okay, we need your help,” I assured. “What could you possibly do that would require our help?” One woman asked. “This man and I plan to get married,” I replied. Once they realized Thomas and I weren’t here to shut down the bar or to lick them up, but that I was one of them, they warmed up to us.”but how do you intend to do that?” She asked. “That’s why were here, if we far enough people to want to make it legal for the union of members if the same sex, we can take it to parliament and make it leave without their intervention,” I explained. “We’re in,” said the woman from before. “We also need a better term for people like us,” said another woman. “I completely agree, the one we have now is highly offensive,” replied. “Could we get you anything to drink?” Asked the same woman from before. “I’m afraid we can’t stay long, we have more troops to rally, but we look forward to working with all of you,” I said. “And by any chance doesn’t anyone know where the people like us in Bisosal?” I asked. “Male or female?” Someone asked. “Female,” I replied. “Yeah, I can tell you,” she replied again. “Thank you so much,” I said. I got the information I needed and we took off for Bisosal.
Tumblr media
We made it to the Bisosal bar and when we entered the same thing happened as the bar before that, they weren’t sure if we were one of them or not. We stood there in silence for a while, but Thomas didn’t say anything, so I leaned into whisper in his ear, “I think you should do it this time, it’s your kingdom.” He nodded. “Hi, we want to get married, but we obviously can’t do that because it is illegal and we need your help to fight for our rights.” He looked at me for assurance and I nodded for him to continue, “We need a lot of people on our side so we bring it to parliament and fight them on this, for the right to be ourselves and to not have to hide anymore.” “We’ll help you,” one mad said, a chatter broke out in agreement of all the patrons. “Thank you so much,” Thomas said. I turned to leave, but was interrupted by someone, “stay for a drink, have some fun.” “We have to go, but we will another time, I promise,” I said and we headed out.
“One more, you ready?” I asked Thomas as we got on Barnaby. “Yeah,” He smiles as we headed off.
We arrived, knocked on the door, and the slot opened up revealing eyes. “Password,” the woman said. I looked at Thomas, but he just looked at me back with an I don’t remember either look. “Crap, what did Simone say it was again?” I asked myself. “You know Simone?” The woman asked. “Yeah, She sent me here,” I told her. “Come on in,” She said, unlocking the door and letting us in. The same thing happened as it did in the last two bars. “Simone said you could help us,” I said. “Oh, well if Simone said it,” a brunette woman said. Thomas gabe the whole spiel and we stayed for a drink before heading back to Thomas’s castle.
We put barnaby back in his stable and walked back into the castle. As we were walking, Thomas grabbed my hand and intertwined his fingers with mine, I smiled. It was pretty late out and no one would be able to see us in the dark. We talked more strategy before arriving at my room. “Can I sleep with you for tonight?” Asked Thomas. “I suppose,” I replied as I got the sleep wear from the wardrobe. “We’re going to get married, might as get used to it,” he replied. I let out a light chuckle and smiled, before changing into my sleep wear. When I finished I handed Thomas a pair. As he removed his clothes, I folded them and placed them on top the dresser. I got under the cover and waited for him to do the same before blowing out the candle by my bed. “Goodnight Thomas,” I said. “Goodnight (Y/N).”

Post Mortem
I promised some thoughts on the nightmarish debacle that has happened. Here they are.
TL;DR I am scathing about everything. Everyone who should have helped us, failed.
It's the morning after. They've won. Continuity Remain is dead; there isn't going to be any second referendum and Article 50 won't be revoked. You cannot imagine how I feel right now, typing those words. However, I have never sought to deny reality (however lovely denial might be) and reality is what it is. We've lost a referendum and two general elections; we're finished. There is no come-back from this. The country has made a sick, twisted, greedy, myopic and stupid decision - but that's the decision it's made. I have nothing good to say for what happened, except that it did happen.
Well, let's look at the one tiny silver lining: since the ship has now sailed, I can indulge my deep, seething pool of vitriol for our collection of useless opposition parties. I'd held back previously because I didn't want to add to the circular firing squad. But they've all shot each other now and the corpses have largely stopped twitching. So off we go. (Before we start, I won't be writing about CUK/TiG/Change-UK, because they were just annoying, and I can't be arsed. I think we've all spent enough time on that shower of idiots.)
Here's the core reason for why I'm so angry: all this was completely avoidable. The media will, of course, spin BoJo's victory as a paragonic triumph of political conservatism. Like that infamous Pravda article from the 30s, on the Soviet constitution, they'll fawn over BoJo and declare him a visionary and a victor, a veritable genius of the ages, dripping with lyricism and wit. He isn't. He's an over-promoted buffoon who lucked into the top office due to the self-destruction of his inept predecessor, aided and abetted by a lying and sycophantic media - and, by a collection of opposition parties whose sole interest was in fighting each other.
Here we have the real core problem. The people on our side only switch on for fighting each other. There's little sign that they actually really care about Brexit, or the wider state of the UK. But pursuing partisan vendettas against each other? Wheeeeeeeeeee!
Let's think back to the summer, when BoJo was faced with stalling polls and a hung parliament. He could have been ousted then - but, of course, the Lib Dems were adamant that they couldn't countenance the idea of Mr Corbyn as Prime Minister. They'd had this tendency for a while - it's not new - but it accelerated and was nurtured under Jo Swinson.
When she was elected as leader I was initially a bit sympathetic - it seemed reasonable to give her a chance. Unfortunately, it turned out that she might be the most rightwing leader they've ever had - I actually suspect now that she might be to the right of Clegg. And she went and turbocharged all of their most self-destructive tendencies. I think what she thought she was doing was clawing Tory Remainers off of the Tories. This ran into two problems; 1) there weren't that many Tory Remainers to begin with and b) most of them are more Tory than they are Remain. So they mostly stayed put, and they few who did leave (thank you, to those of you that did) just weren't enough. Meanwhile, the hard-right tilt scared off the Lib Dem's left-leaning supporters.
A while back I predicted they'd lose seats at this election; I'm sad to have been proved right. I am, however, grimly-amused that Swinson herself lost her seat. The other problem with Swinson's rampany anti-Corbynism was that it partially demobilised continuity!Remain. A lot of people sensed that she was more anti-Corbyn than anti-Brexit; that also implied no plausible chance of an anti-Brexit coalition. Hoenstly, given how overt and personal the vitriol between her and Corbyn got, it's hard to see how it could ever have worked. And there's no point voting for something that you know is impossible. I do wonder if maybe this switched some left-leaning people off, or perhaps even sent a few ditherers back to the Tories (under the assumption that any sort of government is better than no government, I suppose).
As for the Lib Dem campaign, it was a mess. At one point their leader went on air to deny killing squirrels (yes, seriously, this actually happened). She got all excited about thermonuclear genocide at one point, because that's not at all weird and creepy, amirite?! Then there was the bizzarity that was "skills wallets" (don't ask - basically, the sort of policy abortion that happens when a collection of wonks are locked in a room with a boxed set of the West Wing and too much cocaine).
[OK, I'll expand this one. Briefly, skills wallets were a weird continuing-adult-education idea, where you'd have a pot of money that you could access at certain ages, apparently to take some kind of training or re-education or something. Why the ages in question, why that amount of money, and why not just make adult-ed free at the point of use, were never really explained. Then there was the can of worms that was additional voluntary contributions - what I took away from this was it was the adult-ed version of pensions auto-enrollment. I spent the last four years fighting a corrupt auto-enrollment fund, so I have strong feelings here!]
As for general themes, really, the LD campaign didn't have one. There was a lot of "Corbyn, THE MONSTER, the monster, Corbyn!". And, kind of oddly, there wasn't actually that much about Brexit. It actually didn't figure very strongly in their campaign. You came away from watching it all with a) a bad taste in your mouth and b) a nagging feeling that these people didn't know what they were doing.
To be fair to them, their vote share did go up, a bit - from 7.4% in 2017 to 11.4% yesterday. Which is, uh, not exactly dizzying. And it seems to have happened in all the wrong places, so they still managed to lose seats overall.
OK, we've gawped at the piss-stained ashes of the old Liberal Party, lying in state where some eggregious family-member has dumped them, on a roadside verge in the middle of nowhere. (Perhaps some enterprising squirrel has buried a nut amongst them.) Let's move onto the other vast, soul-sucking black hole of despair, also know as the Labour and Co-operative Party.
Oh dear god. The Labour Party.
The Labour Party is Britain's perennial second party, and nothing that happened last night challenged its second-place status. Their vote share dropped by 7.8 percentage points on 2017; this is what produced the Tory landslide, essentially. The Tory vote went up a little, by about 1 point, but otherwise stayed largely flat on 2017. This time, though, Labour collapsed. They lost a swathe of seats across the country, including places like Bolsover and Blyth Valley, which were previously rock-solid.
What went wrong? Everything. Basically, the stars aligned against us, in every single way.
First of all, Labour's campaign was dogged by the antisemitism scandal. And you know what? It was bloody well right that it did. The leadership dealt with antisemitism by ... doing nothing. Anyone who tried to raise the issue instead would get "Corbyn outriders" dumping on them on Twitter. Apparently we're suddenly not allowed to be concerned about racism on the Left anymore? Frankly, fuck that.
What they should have done was a quick-and-brutal party purge, perhaps early in 2018, when there was still time. Take some initiative, get control of the narrative again, and get rid of people who are only going to shit all over your campaign. But, uh, no. That didn't happen. I'll note that the Chris Williamson show in particular went on far, far longer than it should have.
Then we come to Brexit itself. Corbyn spent three years equivocating on the issue. OK, I'll allow that in hindsight, perhaps strategic ambiguity made some sense back in 2017 (though note that they still lost that election too). It didn't by 2019. But Corbyn was still trying to stand in the middle of the road as late as the summer - and by doing so inadvertently opened up political space for the (brief) Lib Dem revival, which in turn shunted Labour onto the defensive. And as I believe Paddy Ashdown once said, if you stand in the middle of the road, you get hit by traffic.
Eventually, the Labour leadership reluctantly adopted a second referendum position, but by then the damage was done. Basically, Corbyn had convinced Leavers that he was a Remainer, and Remainers that he was a Leaver. Labour appears to have lost votes about evenly across both Remain/Leave areas(!). In a way, he actually did unite the country - just against him. Ooops.
The rest of Labour's prospectus was a mess this year. Home Office reform was de-emphasized (arbitrary deportation by the Home Office is a huge concern amongst ethnic minorities). Drugs-law reform seems to have fallen off the agenda. There was no obvious theme to the campaign - surprising given that 2017's "For the Many" theme did cut across. Instead the "offer", such as it was, appeared to be a largely-incoherent grab-bag of spending promises, some of them with very large headline numbers. (The £58 billion for the WASPI pensions thing stands out there.) A lot of people simply didn't believe the country could afford it. You don't vote for things that you fear will bankrupt you.
Also, in a way, there's a parallel to the skills wallets thing here. Labour would have been better off, I think, just doing something straightforward like saying, "If elected we'll raise disability, sickness and unemployment benefits by £x per week, and we'll get rid of the ATOS fit-for-work assesments". It would have the advantages of simplicity, clarity and a clear political theme. Instead we got this weird fiscal machine that would produce some of those effects, except via a complicated multi-part kludge (which probably wouldn't even work properly anyway). I don't know how this came about; presumably it was an after-effect of one of the party's unending internal power-struggles.
Corbyn himself is a controversial figure, from his past associations with the IRA (more vague than the press would have you believe, but still a drag on the doorstep) to the perception of socialist extremism. Again, let me note that the "but he's a Communist, because that starts with 'C' too!" stuff is disingenuous, but this perception exists, and the Party have not found any apparent way to challenge it. Honestly? If your candidate is a ship that's holed below the waterline, yes it is horribly-unfair and all the rest of it, but you do need to run someone else. (I see no point softening that punch ; while Corbyn's been leader, the whole UK has voted 4 times, at 2 general elections, 1 referendum and 1 EU Parliament election. Every time, Labour has bombed. It's hard not to see a pattern here.)
Finally, the Labour Party itself has failed to ever re-unite. It's effectively two political parties in one - or possibly three, depending on how you want to look at Momentum. On a fair day with a strong wind, the Parliamentary portion sometimes manages to move just-about-consistently, but nothing else seems to have that behaviour. Honestly I suspect a lot of people's real fear about a Labour government is not that it would be a socialist tyranny, but rather that it would implode within about six months. Labour has lost its way amongst a storm of factional infighting. To be fair to Corbyn, this isn't new. Ed Milliband's desperate tenure was derailed by internal struggles. Even the 1997-2010 period had the ongoing squabbles between Brownites and Blairites (remember them?).
So yeah, Labour's campaign was an absolute shambles this year, and the whole country is suffering now for that.
Lastly, let's have a quick look at the Green Party. Where were they this year? With Extinction Rebellion making headlines, the Amazon burning, Australia on fire and weather records being smashed everywhere - remember that day when we had summer back in February? - it should have been the Greens' year. Environmental concerns are going up in salience - people are starting to get genuinely worried. And, uh, where were they? I can't recall hearing a single peep from the Green Party during the election. Whatever it was they were doing, it seems to have completely failed to capitalise on the moment. Perhaps they should have been a bit more visible.
The only people who come out of this with any credit are the SNP. I haven't heard anything teeth-grinding about them - though, that might just be because I live in southern England.
Oh, and let's take a final kick in the teeth, shall we? If you add up the shares of the votes received by pro-second-referendum parties ... guess what it comes to? Yup: 52%, versus 48% for the pro-Brexit parties. 52/48 - aaaaargh! Yet, the 48% had a narrative that kept their vote all in one place, so they won an absolute majority at Westminster. Ours got scattered to the four winds by several separate inept campaigns and several useless party leaders. Had there been a second referendum, we could have won it. But we never got the chance, because everyone supposedly on our side were completely, perfectly, useless.
Sigh :(

Upcoming MHA content for TS4
Hi there everyone! As many of you may know, a new BNHA game was released recently, and that means new 3D models for me to extract and convert to TS4 for you. I still haven’t finished those uniforms as I've been traveling and also I had got a pretty bad flu, but they’ll have to wait as this is a bigger chance. So I’m back to work and I've already downloaded the game and extracted the models. I can swear it'll be possible to convert the models from the game to your sims and those are pretty good news!
Well, I'm posting a list with every character of BNHA I'd like to convert. Anyways, I don't have much time so I don't know how long it will take, sorry if I take too much. I'd like to convert their hairstyles as that's the main part of them, and then, if I have time enough, also convert their outfits. I was about to finish their uniforms, but that will need to wait. Well, here it is!
Tumblr media
To be precise, I'm listing them: - Midoriya, Bakugo, Todoroki, Kaminari, Kirishima and All-Might, as we already had (Sadly, there's no model of the "other" All-might in this game). All of them look quite well and better than before, but Kaminari's one looks a bit weird. - Iida, Ochaco, Tsuyu, Jiro, Momo and Shigaraki (Ups, I forgot to add him to this picture, he's in the next one) in a new version as well. I could have converted them before, but I didn't have time. (They look nice too) - Dabi, Aizawa, Toga, All for One (Helmet) and Inasa coming brand new! They weren't in the previous game so this new one is giving us the chance to convert them. But that's not all!
Tumblr media
(Here's Tomura) Now, some special ones: Tokoyami is joining us too! Even if it sounds impossible, it wouldn't be the first time I do something like that. If you already know my content, you know what I mean. I'll try to rig it and make his mouth and eyes move, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it. Anyways, just the head would be enough. Stain and Muscular are possible to convert too, but I'm not sure if anyone's interested in them so I'm not converting them until someone requests them. And the same goes for Endeavor, but adding that his texture is shit and even if I retexture it it will remain looking pretty weird. And, yes, Gran Torino... with this BIG guy we have two chances: making him a child with his looking (but acting like a child, requesting for betdime stories, going to school and having the voice of a 10 years old child) or making him an elder with the height of any other sim. You decide.
Tumblr media
Here you have a nearer view of some of them. I bet you're going to like them really much! (You can open the picture in a new tab to see it better) Also there are a few items in the game that I'll try to extract, like Ojiro's tail, Overhaul's mask, Kota's hat and more. I'll list them soon and wait for you to request them.
And finally, I'd like to know which one you like the most or you're more excited about and to set an order for converting them based on it, so I'm posting soon I’ve already posted a poll where I'd like you to vote for the one you want first. You can find it here. Also, feel free to direct message me whenever you want, I'll be glad to receive any comment or message from you!
(At this link you can find the same post with higher quality pictures)

Y’all have DELIVERED on voting today, so here’s a Steter ficlet that took kind of a weird turn but I can’t lie, I don’t regret it at all.
Stiles waved to the other Lyft driver for the third time that day, a crooked grin on his face. They were both dropping off yet another car full of people at the library polling location.
As three college girls piled out of the back of Stiles’ car, the other driver gestured to an elderly man shutting his own back passenger door, and then made a yapping motion with his hand while rolling his eyes.
Stiles snorted. He never particularly minded the talkative riders, but he knew most other drivers didn’t share that opinion. He shook his head with an exaggerated pitying look on his face, putting a hand over his heart and mouthing you poor thing.
Stiles could practically hear the indignant sound he was sure was coming from the other driver, but it was chased by a reluctant smile so he didn’t worry too much. A second later they were both startled by the sound of a horn from behind Stiles.
He immediately turned around to look out his back window, scowling and flipping up a careless middle finger. However, he did shift his car into drive as soon as turned around, foot on the break. He looked back up at the other driver and saw him waving back once more.
Stiles’ gaze lingered on the other man’s blue eyes and sharp jaw for a moment before waving himself and pulling away from the curb to go pick up another ride.
Maybe, just maybe, he’d be able to catch the blue eyed Lyft man and ask him on a date tonight.
Impatient drivers aside, Stiles really was having a good day. He liked his job. As a Lyft driver he got to meet a lot of interesting people, and most of them were pretty generous with tips. His hours were flexible, which he needed as a grad student, and there were always plenty of people who needed a ride.
His next one was a little further out of town, and the only one requesting a ride in the area. The new man climbed into the back seat, saying, “This is free, right?”
“That’s right!” Stiles answered. “Lyft is offering free rides to the polls for underserved communities, including-”
“Yeah, yeah, all the people who want something for nothing,” the new rider interrupted. “Might as well get mine.”
Stiles paused for a moment, and then pulled away from the house.
The automatic child locks clicked in a silent car.
“Which poll place are you taking me to?” the man grunted after a few minutes.
“The library on 8th.”
“Ugh. No. Take me to the one at the Woodview Elementary school.”
Stiles glanced in his rearview mirror.
“The lines at the library are a lot shorter that the ones at Woodview.”
“Do I look like the kinda person who votes on 8th street?” the man sneered.
“If you’re a registered voter, then yes, you look exactly like the kind of person who votes on 8th street,” Stiles said blandly, facing forward and continuing toward the library. The music played low in the background.
A disgusted huff came from the backseat.
“No one but a load of illegals goes to vote on 8th-”
“Aside from the obvious lie that non-registered voters can get anywhere near a polling booth, what makes you think that immigrants are less deserving of the choices on a ballot? Do you think they’re less affected by the decisions?” Stiles asked, voice idly curious.
The man was slowly getting more and more red in the face.
“Take me to Woodview!” he demanded, ignoring the question.
“Sorry,” Stiles said serenely, “the Lyft offer is only for the nearest polling place. I’ll have to charge you full fare if we go all the way to Woodview.”
“Like hell you will! This is a scam! All you liberal elites-”
Stiles snorted, thinking of his student loans.
“-are in it together, I bet you’ve got little friends working in the library, changing all the votes to Democrat. Buncha deviants, in my day you woulda been taken out back and had sense beaten into you!”
“Brain damage usually limits cognitive function, not the other way around.”
“If you take me to the library on 8th, I’ll have you arrested!!” He smacked the back of Stiles’ headrest. “My brother’s on the force!!”
Stiles glanced in his rearview mirror again and checked off a mental list.
Red in the face.
A MAGA shirt.
And lastly, a Proud Boys lapel pin.
Stiles sighed. So much for trying to get a date with the blue eyed Lyft man tonight. He wasn’t going to have time for anything fun.
__________
The polls closed at 8 p.m. that night. Stiles drove the entire day, but he felt good. A lot of the people he’d given a ride to would have had to take three or more busses to get to the polls, or wouldn’t have been able to get there at all.
He parked beside a densely wooded patch that he’d passed at least a dozen times today, and set off for a stroll.
Night had fallen completely, of course, but the moon was bright and Stiles knew the woods pretty well. He’d spent a lot of time in there as a teenager, doing stupid things. He liked to think the frequency of stupid actions was less now that he was an adult, but he still spent nearly the same amount of time wandering the forest.
Whistling, he kept walking until a flash of muted color caught his eye in the dark.
A red MAGA shirt. Proud Boys lapel pin. And a body with a bullet through the brain.
Stiles sighed to himself. There were four this year. Four! Sometimes he really despaired for the future of this country.
But negative thoughts were no help. The only way out of this mess was to get to work. So, Stiles rolled up his sleeves and started dragging the first one toward the riverbank.
It took hours, but he was finally down the last one. His muscles ached as he dragged the KKK member to a cliff overlooking the river. He liked to vary his dumping points. Too much consistent evidence points to a serial killer, and no one wanted that, least of all the police.
Just as he was about to push the woman into the water, he heard a rustling. More silent than a shadow, he shrank back into the brush, leaving the body where it was.
A huff of heavy, working breath was coming up the deer path Stiles had followed. A little longer, and Stiles started to hear muttering.
“-really just going to tell a complete stranger that you think Hitler had some ‘pretty compelling ideas.’ You just had to look at your Lyft driver and say ‘Hey! I bet this man would love to hear about my genocidal leanings before he drops me off to vote.’ For fucks sake-”
The sounds suddenly stopped completely, and Stiles realized he must have gotten close enough to see the body he’d abandoned.
Stiles stepped out of the brush, finally getting a good look at the other person.
It was the blue eyed Lyft driver, just as stunning as he’d been earlier that day. Standing tall and steady, with a dead body draped over his shoulder.
“Happy election day,” Stiles blurted. “I, uh.” He jerked his thumb over his shoulder at the body behind him. “Was just… cleaning up from one of my rides earlier.”
The blue eyed man stared at him warily for a moment.
“Me too,” he said eventually. “There was an unbelievable amount of trash from some of them.”
“Hah, yeah,” Stiles laughed, relaxing a little. “You want help? I’ll take the arms, you take the legs?”
The man nodded, and before long there were only two bodies up on the cliff, and both of them were breathing.
“I’m Stiles, by the way.”
“Peter.”
Stiles looked over to see Peter glancing up from under his eyelashes, and the butterflies in his stomach nearly broke loose.
“I was going to ask you to dinner,” he said, “but I ended up with a little more after-work clean up than I expected,” he finished in an apologetic tone.
Peter looked delighted.
“I would have said yes.”
“Well, then how do you feel about a late night snack?” Stiles suggested, coming a little closer.
“I think that sounds lovely,” Peter purred out, taking his own step closer. “We can talk about ballot initiative 8.”
“Mm, I’ve always wanted a date who can talk dirty,” Stiles said, taking one final step into Peter’s space as he laughed. Daringly, he swooped in for a light kiss, pressing his lips to Peter’s smiling ones. Peter kissed back sweetly, his smile turning into something softer.
Shyly holding each other’s hands, they walked through the woods, only having to hurry back to the river once after finding a pro-life pin that must have fallen out of someone’s pocket.
As Stiles watched the pin disappear in the crashing waters, he sighed and said to Peter, “It’s such a good feeling to take care of my civic duty.”

Pumpkin Patch part 2
Requested: Yes(ish)
Pairing: Tom Holland x Best Friend!Reader
Part 1
a/n: so i wasnt going to do a part 2, but i realized my first one shot kinda left it on a cliff hanger soo..here we are!
Getting back to Tom’s flat, you gently nudge Harrison awake.
“Wake up sleeping beauty, we’re back,” you whisper.
His eyelashes flutter awake and he stretches his arms.
“That was a bloody good nap,” he yawns.
“I’m glad you had a good rest,” you reply wittily.
The three of you walk into Tom’s apartment, each of you carrying your medium sized pumpkins.
You set them down on the kitchen table and rub your hands on your jeans.
“Oh! My big and small pumpkins!” you gasp, going back to the car to get them.
“She’s not going to be able to carry that big one back in here,” Tom recalls, smiling towards the front door.
Harrison notices his stare and smirks.
“So why don’t you go help her out?” he offers.
Tom looks at him bewildered and quickly shakes his head.
“Tom, you’ve got to start making moves, you wanker,” Haz chuckles.
“M-make moves? For what?” Tom fidgets, crossing his arms.
“Don’t make me say it. Anyway, you’re losing daylight!” Has points towards the door, causing Tom to raise his arms in defeat and make his way to you.
When he got to the front door, he took in the sight of you trying to carry both pumpkins. You were leaning on your left leg for balance, carrying the bigger pumpkin and slowly reached for the small pumpkin.
He shuts his eyes and chuckles, shaking his head at your attempt to carry both.
“You know, you could have asked for help, love,” he says, jogging down his front steps.
You turn to see Tom and let out a sigh.
“Oh thank god, I’m starting to lose feeling on my left side. Here,” you place the bigger pumpkin into Tom’s arms.
Your fingers lightly graze his arms, and you quickly look away. Even though he was wearing a sweater, you don’t want to be distracted by his toned muscles and unbelievable strength.
You grab the small pumpkin and lead him back into the house.
“So, pumpkin carvings; want to do them tonight?” Harrison suggests.
“Absolutely!” you shout.
“Perfect, I’ll get the knives and cutters out. Tom…you can just hang around,” Harrison jokes.
“Are you implying I can’t handle myself with a knife?” Tom scoffs.
“Tom, you can barely handle a scissor,” you laugh.
“Anyway, let me go change into something less cute so I don’t get pumpkin guts all over me,” you say, running upstairs.
Harrison grabs the utensils needed and brings them to the living room table.
It’s better to cut the pumpkins there considering you’ll all have more room to maneuver.
Tom grabs towels and lays them on the floor and on the wooden table.
“So, what's your plan, hm?” Harrison asks after a few minutes of silence.
“Plan..?” Tom furrows his eyebrows.
“You know, how are you going to tell Y/N you fancy her?” his teeth graze his bottom lip.
“Oh, fuck off, Haz,” Tom swats the air and straightens out the towel on the table.
“Did you really not think I’d notice?” Harrison asks, offended.
“Well, no, I-I guess not. But I thought you liked her?” he questions.
“I did, but I don’t like her nearly as much as you do. You practically drool over her when she does the slightest thing as look your way!” Harrison adds.
Tom shakes his head, grinding his jaw.
“Don’t pretend like I’m not right,” Haz raises a brow.
But he was right, and Tom knew it. Tom loved absolutely everything you did, and found the smallest things adorable and admirable. You had him insanely whipped.
“And I think she might like you, too,” Harrison spoke up again, plopping on the couch.
“Right, and my name is Bob,” Tom rolls his eyes, sitting on the floor.
“It’s quite amazing how smart and talented you are, yet your common sense is lacking,” Haz laughed.
Tom frowned, shooting him a glare.
“Oh, take the piss once and a while mate. Even though it’s true,” he smirked.
Meanwhile, you were upstairs getting changed into something more comfy. You grabbed a black sweatshirt that might’ve belonged to Tom and snaked it over your head.
The scent lingered in your nose, and you knew right away that it was, in fact, Tom’s.
You smile at the thought, but quickly shake your head.
You can’t like Tom. He’s your absolute best friend, along with Haz. You all have a great thing going, you don’t want to ruin it with false feelings. Besides, he didn’t like you back anyway, right? Right?
There was that one time his hug lasted a little longer than it had; and that day you all went to breakfast and he insisted on sitting across from you. You could have sworn his eyes were burning a hole through you, yet you didn’t mind.
But all those feelings were pushed back when you were set into reality.
It simply wouldn’t be possible to date Tom, with him in the spotlights and expanding his career.
And you’d never hinder his growth with your selfish wants.
You slide on leggings and throw your knotty hair up in a bun. It was about time your hair got out of your face.
You jog down the stairs and see the boys in the living room.
“You ready to carve some pumpkins?!” you exclaim.
The boys yell “Yeah! making you gush and smile wider than you had been.
You sit on the floor next to Tom, and he scoots over to give you more room.
“Shall we make this more interesting? Maybe hold a contest?” Harrison asks.
“I like it! But wait, there’s three of us here, who’s gonna judge?” you ask.
Harrison pulls out his phone and points it towards the table of pumpkins.
“Okay, so Tom, Y/N and I are about to carve pumpkins. It’s up to you, the viewers, to vote on who’s pumpkin turns out best!” He points towards each pumpkin and when he’s finished recording on what you assume was his instagram video, he begins to frantically tap on his screen. Tom pulls out his phone as well, situating himself in front of the pumpkins and turning his phone facing him.
“So, as you saw in Harrison’s story, or if you’re just viewing my story, Haz, Y/N and I are carving pumpkins. When we’re done I’m going to show them all and you get to pick your favorite!”
Just then, you feel your phone vibrate, signaling a tag from Harrison on his story, and Tom’s follows shortly after.
“I better win...wait, what does the winner get?” you ask.
“Bragging rights..” Harrison says, beginning to carve the top of the pumpkin and remove the seeds.
“No! It should be something legit,” you shake your head and start to ponder.
“Bragging rights AND this pumpkin seed,” Harrison holds up the insides of the pumpkin, causing you to frown.
“Agh, I hate this part of carving!” you yank the top of you pumpkin off and begin to carve inside to remove the slimy seeds.
“How mad would you be if I just put all of this in your hair?” Tom asked cheekily.
“Very mad, Thomas, don’t you dare!” you screech, sliding away from him.
Tom laughs and throws the remnants of the pumpkin into the garbage.
You all decided on carving a traditional face into the pumpkins, but the true test was who’s would look more professionally done.
There was a silence in the room, concentration at an all time high.
“There’s a reason why I’m an actor,” you hear Tom whisper sing-song-like, and you giggle.
He looks over at you and smiles, proud of himself for making you laugh.
He sneaks a glance at your pumpkin, and notices you are doing exceptionally well.
“Well damn, Y/N, when were you going to tell us you had a keen eye for art?” Tom asks.
“A true artist never reveals her secrets,” you wink at him.
Tom could feel a blush creeping up his neck, and quickly looks away from your stare.
Harrison watches your interaction unfold in front of him, baffled at the fact neither of you knew each other’s intentions.
It was about an hour later, and Haz and Tom decided to post pictures of all 3 of the pumpkins on their story, along with a poll.
In the end, your pumpkin came in first, Harrison’s came in second, and Tom’s came in third.
“Rubbish! You guys are supposed to be on my side!” Tom cried on his instagram story.
“Don’t be mad! Your fans recognize true talent!” you taunt, shooting the camera an award winning smile. Tom made a mental note to save that story to his camera roll later.
You and Harrison start cleaning up the mess while Tom adds his finishing touches to his instagram story.
“Your fans are going to go nuts over all the new content,” you note.
“Good, now you won’t be canceled, Tom!” Haz sneers.
“I don’t even know what that means,” Tom folded his arms, “so your words mean nothing.”
“Why don’t you two put the pumpkins on display out in the front? I’ll wash up everything,” Harrison insists.
“You sure, Haz?” you pout.
“Yeah, yeah. Go on,” he shoos you two away.
You look at Tom and shrug, grabbing your pumpkin.
Harrison nods your way to Tom, as if to say “now’s your chance.”
Tom follows you outside with his pumpkin.
The night sky is illuminated by the stars and waning moon, the cool breeze sending shivers down your spine.
“Is this my sweatshirt?” Tom asks, lightly pulling at the hoodie.
“Oh, yeah. You don’t mind, do you?” you ask hesitantly.
“No, course not. What’s mine is yours, darling,” Tom assures you.
You give a cheeky grin and sit on the steps. You pat the spot next to you and Tom complies.
You sigh, looking up at the stars.
Tom takes this time to take in your profile, his eyes darting from your eyes to your lips.
“You’re awfully quiet, Tommy,” you whisper, eyes still glued to the stars.
Tom clears his throat.
“Just taking in the view is all,” he admits.
You bring your attention to the brown eyed boy and smile.
“Y/N...there’s something you have to know,” Tom trails off.
“Oh my gosh, you’re pregnant?” you gasp teasingly.
“No, seriously,” Tom averts his eyes and turns his body to you.
“What’s up, Tom?” you ask, growing concerned.
“I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for..quite a while, actually,” he laughs breathily, “and I feel like if I don’t tell you now, it’s just going to consume me. Your presence consumes me, Y/N.”
You blink at him, slowly letting out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. Did Tom just confess his feelings to me? You thought. The corners of your mouth quirk up.
“Well, that makes me feel better about feeling the same way, then,” you confess.
His face perks up at your words and you can see his boyish smile shine through the moon’s light.
“I was hoping you would say that,” he said.
You smile up at him and lean your head on his shoulder.
Harrison watches from the living room window and sighs out, “Fucking finally,” chuckling to himself.
Tom owed Harrison big time for this one.
