Something I really love about this adaptation of Percy Jackson is how we get to see his anger at his father; especially so when Percy pointedly refuses to go on the quest that'll help clear Poseidon's name until Grover confesses that Sally may still be alive & the quest may be a way of bringing her back. I just think that's such a realistic reaction from a child whos been abandoned by a parent. That whole scene was superb acting.

Matt Rempe is gonna get himself killed, or kill someone else.
I love hockey, it's a great sport, I've been a fan since the 90s, and I know it's unpopular but I've been happy to see the number of enforcers and fights go down.
I am of the belief if you need a fight to get hype for your team you're not a very engaged fan. If you need to fight to prove your worth on a team, you're probably not that good of a player.
Rempe strikes me as someone who puts pre-Great One style hockey on a pedestal, and is too young to understand how this is going to lead to his slow death from head trauma, or a quick death of someone else-- see his uncalled hit last night that was obviously charging, and sent that guy to the locker room [sorry leafs fans i forgot his name]
Hockey is dangerous but it's also a fucking game people shouldn't be cutting 10-20years off their lives for a game. the NHL and NHLPA need to mandage better helmets, cage players (yes i know the toothless thing is the Look of the sport i don't care), neck guards, etc.
I'm tired of watching 20 year olds ruin their lives because they feel invincible and are addicted to the cheering fans.

I think I need to get back into Tyzula, it was my first otp when I got into fandom and I think I let the negativity from toxic fans destroy it for me. Also I think I had a tyzula burnout from literally reading every fic everyday that I found on the Tyzula tag and being mostly unsatisfied with the longfics since they often were left abandoned when it got interesting.
I think reading fics will be a good start to reignite the passion. Does anybody have some fic recommendations, I’ve been out of the Tyzula bubble for nearly 2-3

The thing that really bothers me about “strong female characters,” meaning physically strong female characters are that many fans violently dislike them unless they are super sexy. Female characters are described as being “cool” or “badass” if they are stick-thin and wear nothing but a bra and booty shorts.
But if a strong female character is more muscular, has hair on her face, and a square jaw, suddenly she is “unrealistic” and “woke feminist garbage.” It’s utterly transphobic and misogynist and racist, especially because the more muscular/athletic body type is far more realistic than the “stick figure with massive boobs” body type.
I’m mainly thinking about animated shows or video games, but I think this applies to live action as well. Female characters are only tolerated if they have a lot of sex appeal. I’ve always had a lot of problems personally connecting to or relating to female characters, and this is one of the reasons, but mainly in animated projects.
Maybe I’m super dysphoric, but I really do wish that female characters could be seen as actual characters rather than sex objects to ogle. Men are portrayed as complex people with agency, and I wish women were portrayed that way as well.

SELF REFLECTION: I did some thinking, and here’s why I think I have a mask kink:
-Cant see face therefore the attraction is based on eyes (if shown), voice and built.
-Mysterious demeanor..one that I crave and at the same time jealous bc I’m an open book.
-Something abt having someone who has a guard up. I don’t like when I can easily read ppl or ppl who overspill. The mask is like a guard. Its hard to read emotion. Therefore you have to actually talk to the person in order to understand them.
-Kind of standoffish. Makes you think “what’s this persons problem?” but also intriguing enough to ask yourself “i wonder who’s under there?!” 🤔
-A sense of invisibility. Something I crave is for someone not to see me. The mask gives that sense of invisibility that I desperately wish I had.
-Theres almost something naughty/rebellious abt liking someone who is masked. Like a dark energy that pulls you in and makes you question yourself.
Theres probably a lot more but this all I could come up with atm!! Also please note this is a self reflection of why I like masked men/kink for it.

All Of Us Strangers - Loneliness
DISCLAIMER:
This is my personal interpretation of the film All Of Us Strangers in which both Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal gave an outstanding performance (Andrew was magnificent in every scene).
Do not read if you haven’t watched the film yet: it contains SPOILERS.
Adam (Andrew Scott) is a lonesome man who lives in a flat in London. He is gay and this, in the past, caused him sufferings for he was (also) bullied by his class mates. Not only was he called “girl” as if it was an insult, but his father didn’t do anything to alleviate his pain. As a matter of fact, in a moving scene in which I cried my eyes out, Adam stresses out that his father used to tell him “not to cross his legs like girls” and, moreover, when he heard his son cry in his room he didn’t act on it. I won’t tell you much about this tearing-up scene, but it’s important to remember how crucial it is to understand (better) Adam’s loneliness.
Furthermore, his parents died when he was just 12. He was raised by his granny, but we feel through Adam’s words and Andrew’s outstanding performance that the loss has never felt more present inside him. He cohabited with the memories of his parents, but in reality he has always felt alone.
I strongly believe that Adam has never actually "aged". To be more precise, he grew up for time had passed but his mind has always been stuck to when he was 12. And we can perceive it through Adam’s melancholic innocence and childish-like behaviour. Listen carefully to the way he speaks and look at his shy smiles: Adam is still “a child” in a man’s body and Andrew Scott nailed it PERFECTLY.
I spent the entire film wanting to hug him and only when he (finally) lets his parents go, he “ages”. He is now “mature” enough to take care of someone else: Harry’s soul.
He’s not alone anymore. The loneliness he wanted to fill with his parents’ ghosts has now been replaced by Harry’s love and the love he feels for Harry, and even though their bodies are actually strangers, their souls have never been more intimate and connected than in this very moment (the end of the film).
I exited the cinema a little bit traumatized and I felt as if I didn’t know what to do with my life, but it was absolutely worth the tears.

The older I get the less patience I have for friends who don’t care for contact. I get if you have a demanding life or schedule, but “Sorry I didn’t answer a week after you sent that, I have (X mental illness)” despite their phone glued to their hands 24/7 gets less charming especially in adulthood. My time is my time. See a therapist for what you got, I’m moving on to someone who doesn’t struggle to reply “yes” or “no” to a lunch invite I sent 8 days ago.

Today I watched JW 4 because YES, MARCHESE AND MY PERSONAL WANT TO WATCH ANY MOVIE HE CASTED FOR THEN, ME, TO MAKE MEMES ON MY HEAD ABOUT HIM WITH ANOTHER CHARACTER HE STARED IM HYPERFIXATED TO DEATH ON (you know who.) (Tho he wasn't the only reason because Keanu is always a massive W and I liked the trailer too)
And when I tell you:
That this man artistically slayed on every fucking scene
He was just so iconic at some point
Almost completely feelling like he was that character but with another charisma and attitude on obviously another universe, but aware and still having the little vibe
Im being extremely serious, no jokes there.
Everytime he spoke I couldn't help but love him as a character and the nostalgia he could bring me from that other character was just magical (not only with him, but with other of his characters as well)
(Very weird example) Its like- when you listen to a vocaloid song that isn't from Miku but if you close your eyes and remember her, you get happy because she's your hyperfixation and what you are listening is technically really related to your hyperfixation and you get hyped because of it
I also watched the movie on the spanish dub because there wasn't any English function available at the theatre, sounds irrelevant, right? Well what if I told you. That the dub actor for the Marchese.. was THE SAME VOICE ACTOR WHO DUBBED THAT OTHER CHARACTER???
I know he is not even a bit of related with Stephen's king universe and he's just a character from another franchise, but I still will get hyped for this and my dramatically mysterious AU scenarios

Re-watching LMK S1 brings back my love and joy for the show, seen sometimes I forget why I loved it in the first place, my own bias that I have of the show, and how much I criticize it, I forget the charms of the show, and the themes and messages, why I love the characters, so whenever I got lose in the negatively about the show, I will re-watch s1 to remain myself of the reasons why I love it so much.

The only Facebook group I feel safe in as an Izzy Hands stan is Our Flag Means Daddy.
Even though I am apart of the two main groups as well, i.e. Our Flag Means Deathposting, Our Flag Means Fans, I do NOT feel SAFE. I see the wildest and hottest fucking takes in these groups and they piss me off. Are you even watching the same show? I’m also sick and tired of people calling Izzy a villain when he clearly is not. Also there are many that don’t recognize he’s gay, even after season 2. If you voice you’re upset and betrayed? You get attacked. I was again last night.
I guess I’m a proud Izzy “apologist”, but it fucking baffles me how fans just give Ed a pass on all the brutal things he did. Oh but the love story—- NO. Recognize you’re an Ed apologist as well. I like both Ed and Izzy, but I recognize the horrifying things Ed did.
The day of the finale, I posted my thoughts on various social media. I got attacked. I got messages even on tumblr from anon cowards who I imagine followed through Twatter. I was called the t slur. That I was stupid, fat, all sorts of things.
It’s because I said I’ll never trust David Jenkins again. Now, do I have my own thoughts as to whether parts of the finale are a dream state/gravy basket that Stede himself is in? Absolutely. But let’s dive into why I was especially hurt.
First off. I am disabled. For those who know me, I’ve also had two leg surgeries and my injury has ruined my life. So seeing Izzy with a false leg, as a disabled character, still being badass? It felt good. It boosted my confidence for me to keep going. I had so much metal in my leg it caused pain that left me bedridden and using a wheelchair and cane. Many a time I wish they’d chopped my leg off.
I see a lot of myself in Izzy. I swear, he has the traits of an Aries with his anger and intense emotions. This man feels deeply for those who cares for, even though at first this seemed to just be Edward. Despite the hardened shell, he’s a romantic at heart. I’m very much the same.
That hardened shell is also a form of masking to me. In my opinion, and in my own headcanon for this roleplaying blog, Israel is neurodivergent and suffered sexual assault on ships when he was young. It’s part of the reason he has bowel issues. He had to force himself to put on that rough motherfucker mask in order to protect himself. I was bullied mercilessly in school. When I started middle school, I decided to align myself with the “bad kids” as a form of protection. Guess what? Part of myself was masking I was a bad ass, part of myself became the badass I was masking to be after years of torture.
Also. I am transmasculine. I’m pre-HRT. But to me, Izzy is very transmasc coded. This was even confirmed by Con himself when a transmasc fan at Supercon brought the conversation up. I’d just like to say again how much I adore him for supporting the trans community, particularly transmascs who often are glanced over.
Then David Jenkins, a straight man, that swore he wouldn’t fall into the kill your gays trope did exactly that. So let’s exclude here the thought that this is possibly a dream state, or even that he might be resurrected by Buttons as a zombie or ghost which I fucking hope not. We’re talking about my initial feelings. Now it felt like they were setting him up to be killed but I said oh no Jenkins wouldn’t do that to us. He promised he wouldn’t.
Guess what?! He fucking did. Not only that, he murdered off the disabled, gay, transmasc coded character after giving him the most beautiful character arc of any character on the show. You can have a gay pirate rom com, you can understand some characters can get hurt, but killing someone as a means to advance plot? Fuck you. Also, the fact that Izzy apologized to his ABUSER?! As if the victim blaming and shaming wasn’t enough for Izzy Hands, which I see plenty of still, that’s fucked up on so many levels.
So to me I watched a version of myself be murdered. It hit me in the hardest way imaginable. I cried for days. I’ve never been so attached to a character in my 38 years of existence. I’m sick and tired of people saying they like his redemption arc. Izzy never needed redemption. He just needed one, single, person to tell him that he was loved and cared about.
So voicing that I felt betrayed and that I no longer trust Jenkins got me nothing but vitriol. Then toward the end of the day, he made a tweet about how there’s no version of the show without Izzy and had the comments turned off. He knows what he did. And then in the FB groups, if you dared say you were upset that day, requoted Jenkins, you’re a horrible person? Right. I didn’t start attacking the writers. I just said I’m betrayed and I can’t trust what I thought was my comfort show. Because of that, I got hate.
As much as I’d like to believe Izzy will return, the interviews David has done post season 2 talking about his character give me little hope. It’s like he just stabbed every fan in the back. Id like to think the rushed finale is really a dream sequence or gravy basket deal. Id like to think that Izzy will come back thanks to Buttons. But now I just don’t trust David Jenkins.
And if you dare voice this opinion anywhere but Our Flag Means Daddy and Twatter, you get attacked. So here goes. Thanks for my TED talk.

Thinking about descendants and Doug and evie’s relationship and the bevie fandom I wanted to put my take on it. The reason why I personally don’t ship bevie but I do like the ship is because I like the idea of Doug but different if that makes sense.
Doug is the nerdy boy with glasses, evie would considerably be the popular girl. Descendants did a good job not using the “nerd to hot even though he was always hot he just got a different haircut and took off his glasses trope”. They made evie a beautiful considerably popular girl love Doug without him ever changing his looks. Which shows looks don’t matter to her and she loves him for him. She also defies all her mom’s expectations and rules by dating her enemies son whose also not a prince. Now Doug has his issues and that’s why I don’t ship them really either, but just a reason I don’t ship bevie all too much as well despite it being adorable.
My personal headcanon is that she is with an intellectual that is not a royal. More like a poet type, he’s into dark academia really intelligent in lots of stuff. I just like that for her. I’ll be making a headcanon and oc for him soon.

Derek hale deserves better
One of the most hated aspects of the teen wolf movie is Derek's death.
Apparently Jeff Davis wanted a big sacrifice trope for Derek Hale, which went horribly in the movie.
I hate that he died but it's the way he died is what aggravates me most. Because Derek's desperation to sacrifice himself and die doesn't even make sense because Parrish literally can hold the nogitsune on his own.
Here's how it could be done instead:-
Eli, Derek, Scott go after nogitsune(I'm still salty that they made Liam a prop in this scene) while Liam and others fight the oni at the same time
Though the pack kills the oni, they are all badly injured.
Parrish especially is badly injured because he already lost some of his strength when he burned down all the nogitsune.
So, Derek and Scott think to borrow the hellfire from Parrish.
But Parrish implies that werewolves can't handle the hellfire. So, Derek 'I have a huge saviour complex' Hale saves Scott's ass(who doesn't even stop Derek btw) and borrows the hellfire to kill nogitsune, sacrificing himself in the process.
If Scott can borrow foxfire from Hikari then Derek can borrow Hellfire too. Though I hated his death, at least in this way his sacrifice is reasonable and Jeff can achieve the big sacrifice trope perfectly by letting the sacrifice make sense.

Some random HELLDIVERS 2 ideas floating around in my head
This is just gonna be a post thats gonna consist of things i've seen others mention or things i've thought about myself, anyways, here's the list i guess:
Scout Rifle (Unlocked at Level 5) - Modified Sniper Rifle equipped with a Thermal Scope & Silencer designed for more stealthier approaches in missions, its not as powerful as the Anti-Material Rifle but still packs a very mean punch (basically a singular point lower in the Armor Penetration Scale compared to AMR, additionally, it should be noted that it works best in positions where you are far away from the enemy, just because its silenced, it doesn't mean enemies nearby your position cant hear it).
2. Weapon & Armor Customization (+ A Bonus Thing)- I think almost about everyone underneath the sun has talked about this, while i do understand it'd probably be a bit difficult to add it in right now, i would potentially like to see in the future considering that most of the weapons look like they were meant to be detachable at one point (such as certain weapons sharing attachments, that one HD2 Trailer where each Helldiver had a different attachment on each of their Liberator, and other things im forgetting about), and also they did mention they were gonna introduce color variations for armor sometime in the near future, however what I'd honestly like to see it be added in the form of something you have to unlock (sorta similar to how in MGSV you can unlock variations of an existing gun but cannot customize them until you get the Legendary Gunsmith, which once you do, you are able to pull from the various attachments each gun you researched onto any weapon that accepts them):
2a. It could be a Ship Upgrade but as to the name of it... I'm honestly very unsure, I dont think it has a name so i'll call it "LIBERTY & DEMOCRACY QUARTERS" considering the words 'LIBERTY' & 'DEMOCRACY' are in front of the Armory & Unusable Terminal, anyways, upgrades are as followed:
2b. Data Acquisition Terminal (Common Samples Required) - The D.A.T allows for information to be gathered from the Battlefield via the power of Marking & Gathering (This basically gives you a beastiary/logbook for various items & enemies you face off against, which give you useful tips & flavor text, in addition, it keeps track as to how many of said enemy you've killed (including the times they've killed your Helldivers)/how many items you've collected), it also tracks the random notes you find out on the field, listing it as "Questionable Material").
2c. Armor-Smith Cybernetics (Commons, Rares & STREAMLINED REQUEST PROCESS Required) - The Armory is now further enhanced with the usage of highly advanced patriotic-robotics & precise liberty-based algorithms (Allows for Weapon & Armor Customization, Armor requires the usage of Requisition Slips in order to unlock color variations, in order to give some extra uses for RS, same could apply for weapon customization sorta similar to MGSV, where weapons cost GMP in order to deploy except for the really low level versions, which in the case of HD2, it would be the weapon that had the preset attachments, additionally, this means your death is gonna cost more than just a life, so be weary of that, but so it isnt as expensive, maybe the application of each attachment is about... 100 or 250 RS each).
2d. Super Sonar Dish (Commons, Rares, Supers & NUCLEAR RADAR Required) - The Nuclear Radar is now retrofitted with the Super Sonar Dish, allowing for better reads on the battlefield (The radar will now display items you've run past, such as if you ran past a Common or Rare Sample, the Radar will now track it. In addition, as an added bonus, you are given an alert a minute prior to whenever a geological or meteorological event is about to occur. Something else to note is that if you complete a Radar Station Objective, this further enhances the Super Sonar Dish).
3. Medical Spray Tower (Unlocked at Level 10) - A tower full of Stim-Based Spray is deployed and will periodically heal nearby Helldivers that are within range of it, although unlike Stims, it cannot heal serious wounds and does not provide the temporary regeneration a Stim provides (It is highly unknown what it does to bugs and cannot bring people back from the dead).
4. "Buddy" (Unlocked at Level 20 - Costs 25K Requisition Slips) - This patriotic rover is capable of helping you with tasks that your otherwise heroic teammates are unable to help you with! (It helps specifically for opening buddy doors but it will constantly blare loud patriotic music, thus alerting enemies to your position at a constant, can be deactivated with the BACKPACK button).
5. The ability to deactivate backpack related items using the backpack button, so for example, being able to put away the ballistic shield without needing to have a two handed weapon, or maybe deactivating the Shield Backpack to Recharge it to full capacity.
6. Different Super Earth Structure Designs Related to Planet's Composition & Planetary Events - As to what this means, is... well, we shouldnt assume that a planet is constantly dealing with shitty conditions without some method to protecting themselves from it(such as Meteorites, Volcanic Activity, Tremors, and Ion Storms), they definitely would have had something to defend themselves or make living on the planet much more tolerable. Additionally, some more varied SE Designs related to the planet's habitat would be nice compared to the same old Super Earth Generated Structure Number Something Something.
6a. In addition, maybe unique new missions relating to whatever the shitstorm the planet deals with? So lets take the Tein Kwan Event for example, it was simply a "Oh, heres a new planet unlocked, liberate it and you get exo-mechs!", which, while neat, I feel like it could have been made more interesting if it was done akin to the TCS Dispersal Event where you need to activate an Asteroid Defense System (that the automatons took out at various factories across the planet) in order to actually protect the planet, so maybe something like this:
"The production of the Exo-Patriots have halted after Automatons hit the ADS of Tein Kwan, liberate this planet and crush the Automaton Presence so the production of the mechs may resume."
Main Event Mission:
Reactivate A.D.S - Your mission is to land in one of the many exo-patriot facilities and reactivate the defense systems. Eradicate the automaton infestation that is keeping managed democracy in their shackles! Doing so will resume production of the facility and allow for the workers to be safe.
Planet World Gen Details: Evidence of much "smaller" but destroyed ADS in certain spots of a planet. Automaton AA Guns acting as a means to protect Outposts from oncoming Meteorites.
...More ideas to be added later when i remember about them.

An idea on where Chase’s statement of the shen gon wu being “a crutch for true power” and also my personal idea on elemental powers work.
So the Xiaolin temple has been around for 1500 years, yet it seems that the monks are the only ones with elemental powers. But everyone can use the shen gon wu regardless.
I’m not really one for the idea that only the monks have elemental powers and thus being chosen by some greater force. Especially since there has been a good amount of time between when Wuya was sealed away and released.
My idea on the elemental powers is that technically, anyone can learn to activate and use them in some capacity. But it requires a lot of training to properly control each specific one. And activating elemental powers by random without prior knowledge tend to be a stroke of dumb luck.
It’s like learning any type of skill really. Some will have a better start than others, but can be learned overtime.
And has to be done with control otherwise it may cause damage to the one doing the practice.
The elements tend to be more specific between each person, but as we’ve seen with Omi, it is possible to wield more than one.
But in the same episode we saw that, we also saw he had trouble controlling them.
But the shen gon wu?
It seems for the most part that anyone can activate and use them. Regardless of training for most (exceptions apply). And the elemental powers may amplify the wu’s power, but people with specific elemental power can use wu that don’t align with their power.
The shen gon wu bypass whatever makes controlling the elements hard for most.
They are a means to control power when one is not immediately able to on their own.
