Marc trying to stop Steven from seeing all the traumatizing childhood memories is actually heartbreaking in two ways: by stopping Steven from seeing these things Marc - first at all - protects himself
But imo Marc loves Steven deeply, because at this point of the story Steven has become a person on his own, not just a split personality. And Marc loves Stevens innocence and his pure heart. He doesn’t want Steven to become traumatized as well, not only for his own sake but also for Stevens sake

Whether it was just an illusion or if Randall was there to guide Marc, this scene hurts so much either way
He looked so heartbroken and scared when Steven didn’t recognize him and Marc said “don’t go near him.”
He was crying when he ran away from them 😭
To me this also seems like a reflection of Marc’s fears, that he thinks Randall would be scared of who he became. Because as we know, Marc just views himself as a killer

I know Moon Knight episode 5 was traumatic, but are we gonna ignore the color symbolism?
*SPOILERS*
Marc wears all white for the entire episode, and Steven wears completely dark colors. This doesn’t really reflect what they usually wear, as Marc is a mercenary and Steven is the most polite person you could meet.
These colors are reflected again, at the end of the episode.
Marc is in paradise, surrounded by light yellows and oranges, and Steven is in the underworld, framed with dark purples and blues.
Overall, gorgeous foreshadowing.
