Granny spots you walking up, a funny looking grin making its way on her face as she waves. You lift a hand to wave back, “hey Granny Smith, I-“

“If you’re looking for Applejack she’s out by the barn,” your attention shifts to her figure off in the distance, “Maybe you can help bring her inside to cool off, she’s been working on fixin’ that fence since early this mornin.”

You thank granny, crossing the fields until Applejack was only a few feet away. She hears the crunching of the leaves and finds your figure standing across from her. You lean on nearby fencing, “hey you.”

“heya sugar cube,” she sits back on her calves, “what brings you all the way out here?”

You smile at her sweetly and take joy in her flustered expression. You slide off on teasing any further, explaining that you were picking something up for a friend and wanted to stop by. She wipes at her forehead, “I’m happy you did, it’s always good to see ya.”

Your heart warms at her sweet talk, “do you need any help?”

She shakes her head, going back to hammering nails into the wood. You sit in silence for a minute, watching how peaceful the moment around you was.

“Applejack,” she hums, “do you spend time in the fields?”

“Uh, well I am now. If that’s what you’re asking.”

“I mean, you have all this land, do you use it for more than just work?”

“Back when I was younger, sure I did. But things change.”

You stand straight, “what changed?”

“Granny got older, and so did I. Had to take on the responsibility for this here farm, and I couldn’t be more proud that she’s handed it down to me.”

You’re sure granny would be proud if someone where to point to a random fly and say they were her new pet, but you keep to yourself.

“Speaking of granny, she told me you’ve been out here all morning. Wanted me to come bring you inside so you can cool off.”

“Just after—“

She slows at the feeling of your hand on hers, “please?”

With a roll of her eyes, she’s walking you back to her house. You find yourself in her living room. She had excused herself a few minutes ago, turning and walking into the kitchen.

It seemed like only yesterday you just met the girl, sitting on her couch soaking wet, explaining why come knocking on their door. She had a sense of understanding, but was still very much reserved and confused, wondering why a random had come out to her house in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Her heavy footsteps announce her presence before she turns the corner, glasses in her hands, handing one to you.

“Imma open the windows, it’s hotter than a blister bug in a pepper patch today.”

You stand beside her, watching her tussle about with the window latches. It’s frustrating in how you’re blanking on how to act. You intentionally sought her out, and now that you have what you wanted, your hands are growing sweatier than they already were.

“So tell me, how’d your interview go? I’m so excited to hear,” her smile softens as she notices your body tense at her question. She makes a sympathetic sound, reaching and rubbing your arm.

“I guess I deserve it. They wanted over three years of experience and I’ve never even had a real job.”

“Hey now, don’t start on that nonsense. You have just of a right there as any other. You said they didn’t hire you because of inexperience? Well that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever—“

You hold onto her hand, “applejack its really alright. I’ll eventually get another interview.”

“I know you and I know how much this mattered to you. You don’t have to be all so positive happy all the time.”

You bite your cheek in hopes the pain would distract you from the tears building. She sighs, “I don’t mean to upset ya, I only am angry at the ones denying you.”

“You aren’t upsetting me. Thank you for listening.”

“Of course, sweet. Ya want a hug, they always make me feel better?”

The tears spill over and she’s cooing at you, moving your drinks onto the table near you. Her arms are already wrapping around you, pulling you near her, a hand patting your back, “go on, cry it all out.”

You laugh softly, going ahead and tightening your hold around her waist, “sorry, I didn’t mean to come over and worry you.”

“Never a burden, you’re always welcome. Let me go fetch some of that pie granny and I made just the other day, that’ll cheer you right up.”

She says, moving quickly into the kitchen. You step behind her, keeping close as she cuts a piece for you.

“Thank you.”

“You’re never a burden, sweetheart. Anytime.”

— percy jackson x fem!reader (ft. Tyson!)

warnings: kinda short, language and ponies, lol. a/n: hi! This is too short and I don't know if it's right but I think it's because Tyson is very chaotic which I love to see in the writing, like those episodes where nothing happens but everything happens.I hope you like it and it hasn't disappointed you. I send a kiss!

— No way.

— c'mon, percy! It's just a movie of my little pony

your boyfriend stared at you for a few seconds and nodded obviously with a grimace of annoyance.

—... yeah, now you get it?

You snorted and poked him in the shoulder which made him jump. You knew the hardest one to convince was Percy and for now it didn't look too good.

— for him — you pleaded with your hands together and your lips pressed into a pout. You knew that was the face he would never resist and he took it as a personal challenge by turning around, avoiding to see you.

There was nothing more that Percy hated than those movies, because... because... uh, why? He didn't even need a reason, he just didn't want to watch colored ponies for a little over an hour but Tyson...Tyson could die watching that non-stop.

— Then I guess I'll tell T that he came from your father's palace for nothing. — You sighed dramatically and looked at his face with a sad grin — The next time you'll see him is to give him his birthday present.

Now Percy had a dilemma.

With you holding the tickets - all three exactly - now he remembered the fact that Tyson's (made up) birthday was approaching and Percy didn't have a gift or money either. Suddenly he didn't see that as such a bad idea and took his movie ticket from your hand with a huff.

— Go get him, I'll ask Paul for the car — He grumbled.

You jumped up and gave him a kiss on the cheek, running to the bathroom to tell Tyson the big news, which cost Percy a half hour of driving with him singing the show's theme in his ear.

— my little pony! holy fuck

You opened your eyes and Percy almost braked. Last time, Tyson barely cursed or said that kind of things, but being in forges and surrounded by Romans was giving him some of their habits.

— Uhm, you better not say that in the cinema or the parents will kick us out and we won't see the movie.— Percy reprimanded like the older brother he was to him and nodded but both knew that was very uncertain because Tyson could be unpredictable.

But it turned out to be the complete opposite and Tyson ended up leading a mob of children eager to see the new movie. Every time he shouted a character's name, everyone did and he ended up with around 50 new, little friends.

— best duckin day!

— duckin? — asked Percy with the eyes on the road, you giggled still amazed.

— yeah, trevor said that we can't say fucking, instead is ducking.

Percy laughed and shook his head playfully. — Oh little brother.

some modern girl falls into middle earth concepts (the hobbit & lotr)

reader has a gold tooth or two, obvs the company is interested but what happens when thorin gets that gold sickness lmfao

reader has hella tattoos/piercings/body mods (tatted eyeballs, pointed ears, split tongue, fangs, etc) and explains the process to the company (maybe dwalin gets the hots). this is, of course, after the company finds out reader is in fact human and not some odd race they've never heard of

black or native american reader (bc u know how dwarves & elves are with hair)

reader who speaks norwegian and has studied norwegian history (bc why not) and likes to draw comparisons between scandinavian culture and dwarven culture (idk why lmao)

italian reader (bc food)

reader with dai yueqin-length hair (aka if its not up its a tripping hazard to everyone)

reader who's a part of the sca

deaf!reader (maybe bifur's sign language is similar to asl and they end up becoming friends)

crackfic idea: introducing the dwarves to diggy hole (lmao)

reader, who's obsessed with stories, tells the company a different story from their home world each night (like a story about a young viking managing to train the most ferocious dragon (how to train your dragon)). later, reader ends up retelling snow white and the seven dwarves.

some sort of bl2 x hobbit crossover (reader's a siren but not from the borderlands universe, and in this case their magic is more like pony magic from mlp friendship is magic or bonnies magic from vampire diaries). they dont get any markings or anything until they "leech" the gold sickness from thorin (which, in turn, affects the reader by making their powers more awesome). obvs there's some limitations (they lose the ability to fully control their limbs and are pretty much wheelchair-bound for a few months). reader is pretty much a demigod (probably just as powerful if not maybe a little less powerful than gandalf).

reader fell into middle earth a couple thousand years ago but due to some weird aging thing and middle earth time working differently than modern earth time they age differently. they've become some minor witch or wizard.

reader "scent marks/chins" to show love (like a rabbit)

reader whos part of modern royalty from our world (and enjoys middle earth more than anything bc they don't have to be "propper" all the time, maybe their more of a princess diana royal)

speaking of princess diana: reader gushes over princess diana

post botfa: fem!reader flirts with dis (lol)

reader pretends to by psychic (like in psych) but in reality they've read every book part of the lotr/hobbit universe and know everything (maybe they understand some of their languages as well, not enough to be fluent but enough to pick out certain words)

reader grew up DEEP in the mountains of west virginia (and likes to sing country roads at random points, though they change some of the lyrics bc they don't have the crayons nor willpower to explain a radio)

reader knows "big bad john" and "the cajun queen" by jimmy dean by heart

most of the songs the reader knows are either by dolly parton or kenny rogers (or any other artist similar like reba)

reader casually talks about the horrors of our world like its the most normal thing (ww2, systematic racism, the truth of thanksgiving, climate change, 2020, the patriarchy and how they treat women, etc)...everyone looks horrified

reader writes hozier-style songs

reader is the biggest fucking flirt (but by that, i mean they'll flirt with trees...not just ents, no, trees...and rocks)

reader, a seemingly innocent-looking woman, was a deathmetal vocalist in our world

reader has a thing for watching blacksmiths and metalsmiths (i used to like watching forged in fire until i realized they were a bunch of sexists)

reader has the deepest southern accent-

reader is a little insecure only to find out that everything society deems gross and unsightly in our world is hella attractive to dwarves (body hair, extra weight, etc)

reader has abandonment issues and is terrified the company or fellowship are gonna abandon them at any point

reader introduces the company/fellowship to truth or dare, reader get's dared to tell the group their biggest secret, they pull out their childhood stuffed animal from their bag and introduce the group to said stuffed animal. reader thinks the group will laugh at them. the fellowship finds it endearing. the company also finds it endearing (esp dori, bifur, and bofur).

reader goes on a tangent about frontal lobes for a solid 15 minutes straight with no stopping bc of that one hyperfixation they had a few years back.

reader with chronic pain. they never talk about it but something goes wrong, reader and (we'll say dwalin) switch bodies. the pain is so bad dwalin is keeling over and after they get switched back everyone has a little more respect for reader than before. ("what do you mean tHIS IS NORMAL EVERYDAY PAIN? YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THIS FLARES UP AND GETS WORSE??? THIS ISNT EVEN THE WORST OF IT???" reader shrugs "eh u get used to it after living with it for ur entire life")

reader doesn't like wearing shoes, but has feet as strong as a hobbits so its fine

everyone's explaining what folktale they tell children in different cultures when asked where babies come from. the dwarves talk about being born of rocks, hobbits talk about being born in gardens, the human reader tells the story of the stork

idk i kinda wanna mix some of these together

summary || rarity’s been asked to design a fashion line for a designer you know she’s been raving about since forever. after succeeding, she’s landed a full-time job as their designer. in doing so, she’s left you behind.

She’s chasing after her dreams—why would you wish to stop her from doing so. It’s been an incredibly long journey, you know as she’s been using you as a model for her clothes. That was until she got an offer, the one that’s now lead her down a path of success; but lately you’ve been afraid that her vision for a successful future is one without you.

You might’ve not enjoyed the feeling of her needle poking you from time to time when you were her model, but you enjoyed the time spent with her. Now she has real models to work with, important measurements to take. It was all done without you. Of course you try to be supportive by showing up to her events or being in the background. What kept you going was seeing her face light up when she would recognize you in the crowd. She still cares to see you.

You brought yourself over to her workspace, sitting on a nearby chair to watch her. An ugly feeling arising when you come to realize your plans will be cancelled again. Sitting in silence beside her can only be so much for so long.

“Rarity,” you call out, voice muffled from the sounds of her sewing machine. She spots your shadow walking up, momentarily stopping to listen.

“Do you want to go that city event tonight?”

“Oh darling I wish, but I am quite backed up. Perhaps we can reschedule?”

You highly doubt it. At this rate you don’t believe you’ll get a moment alone with her until she’s at a stable point in her career. If that even were ever happen.

She’s gone back to sewing, choosing another project to work on seeing as you’ve started to talk to her. Her glasses set on the tip of her nose, fingers working on weaving the needle through the cloth, fixing a hem that had fallen loose once fitted in the model.

“Rarity?”

“Yes?”

“What’s this supposed to do,” you emphasize your words by pointing at the tack around her thumb.

“Oh why it’s a thumb tack, helps me not to poke my finger when I’m doing smaller stitch work.”

The next two, three, six questions are running her patience thin. It’s like every minute you were dragging her attention here and there, anywhere but where she needs it to be. It snaps after the eight question, pushing her mind into an unhealthy state.

“What’s going on with you,” she starts, continuing to finish fixing the dress, “you’re usually not like this.”

You debate on telling her the truth, not sure if you could handle hearing her response to your apparent “issue.” She would laugh at you, find you ridiculous for thinking her work was taking her away from you.

“I’m just talking to you.”

“Well you did, and if you can’t tell I’m busy.”

“Of course you’re busy, that’s all you ever are,” you snap, hurt bleeding into your aggressive tone. “If you would take a step back you’d see that this has been taking all of your attention.”

“It’s a serious job, it’s going to take time to do.”

“And I’m not serious enough?“

“That’s not what I’m saying.”

“No,” you huff, “it’s what you’re showing. You’re acting like this isn’t a problem.”

“This wouldn’t be a problem, if you wouldn’t make one out of it. I think you’re being unreasonable, now please leave me be. That’s been quite enough.”

You wish it was a joke, or a nightmare, but her back facing towards you was reality. There was hope that she would turn around, apologize, say she’d love to meet later tonight. It hurts more when she moves to work back with the machine, the loud sound drowning out any other comments you may add.

With arms wrapped around you, you left. A choked sob escaping you once you’ve left her building. You’ve never experienced this side of her, one that’s aloof and removed. You avoided her house, walking straight back to your own to try and dry up the tears falling down your cheeks.

Rarity was unable to work. After working with a sewing machine for so long the sound has become like background noise to her, she’s used to it. So she heard your cry when you left, the sound new to her ears. She’s heard you cry before, but not because of her. Ego kept her from turning around and apologizing right then, and she regrets, guilt rising within her with every minute.

Maybe there’s a way to make it up to you. She’s rushing to check her clock, seeing that she still has two hours until the town’s event begins—she still had time. Your house was in the same neighborhood as her, a five minute walk either way. Upon approaching she notices the light on in your room. She feels worse when she sees your state. After opening the door, you’ve been looking anywhere but her, eyes puffy and red.

“I came to apologize,” she starts, wringing her hands together, “I was rude earlier, snapping at you like that. It was terrible of me. You didn’t deserve that.”

You nod along, eyes still sad and avoiding hers. She grows frustrated, movements less shy and inward.

“Oh I can’t take this. I miss you, and I’m so sorry. I’d leave this job in a second if it’d help remove this mopey feeling.”

“You don’t have to quit, I’m just selfish.”

“I do, it’s too much for me anyways—it doesn’t allow me to do what matters most.”

You’ve begun to cry again, teeth biting at your cheek to try and stop it.

“Are those sad or happy tears, darling. I quite hope they’re happy.”

“They’re happy,” you laugh, wiping at your face.

She smiles, pulling you into an embrace that would’ve had you blushing if she had done this after a week of dating. You grip her shirt, relaxing in her hold.

“You’re not a second choice to me.”

okay! may i request a (short) hobie going to his girlfriend who is obsessed with my little pony's house for the first time? her house is pink and she had a fluffy pastel blue welcome mat on her front door and two cute calico cat statues. everything in her house is kawaii and pastel colored with more fluffy furniture and pictures she painted herself. her room is worse. mlp plushies everywhere and posters littered on her walls. and to top it off, a 93cm/35in tall princess celestia plushie sits on the middle of her pink canopy bed (bonus points if she has a cutie mark tattoo :3c)

Yes!! I haven't watched my little pony since I was little so sorry if this is inaccurate or anything, I tried to research somewhat but I'm not sure if it worked out 😭

That was the address you'd given him. As Hobie looked up at the house in front of him, with its bright pink walls and shiny white fence, he was debating whether he should call you and ask for your address again or not. He'd never seen such a...strange-looking house before, but then of course, it suited you.

Pastels and pinks, baby blues and fluffy yellows, those were the colors that you loved the most and those were what Hobie always saw around you whenever you were near him. A bright pink personality, a baby blue smile, a light yellow hug, they were all the colors that made you...well, you.

And he loved you for it.

He just wasn't expecting your home to be so...you.

Right on both sides of the wooden, pink porch were two calico cat statues, peering up at him. He stared at them for a moment, before he approached the fluffy sky-colored welcome mat situated on your doorstep and reached towards the doorbell, pressing it. A soft chiming noise played, like the one a wind-chime would make. He wasn't sure whether he should step on your mat or not, since his big, bulky combat boots would probably dirty it.

"Hi 'bie!" You exclaimed, pulling him into a hug as you opened the door. A smile immediately spread across his face. "Nice to see ya, sunshine." he said softly, kissing the top of your head gently. "Brought ya something. Think you'll like it." from behind his back he pulled out a bouquet of light purple irises, which you accepted, getting up on your tip-toes and giving him a kiss on the cheek as a thank you.

He was even more amused when he entered your house completely. Fluffy furniture, all matching the same colors as the outside of your house, with framed painting all over the walls. "Did you make these?" he asked you with a smile, arm hooked around your waist.

"Yeah...do you like them?" you asked him, having to crane your neck to look right up at him. "They're cute. Like you." he said with a laugh, approaching one of the paintings. He noticed it was slightly crooked and he attempted to move it, but it came falling down. "Shit." he muttered, catching it and trying to put it back on the wall.

"Oh, just leave it. I'll fix it later." You said, taking his hand and pulling him towards your room as he glanced back embarrassedly.

Entering your room was like entering a whole different world. Not an inch of drywall was visible, every square completely covered in posters and shelves. Even the ceiling was littered with glow-in-the-dark stars, with a small chandelier in the middle.

Your bed was fluffy and pink of course, with light yellow pillows and a darker pink canopy. Hobie stared in confusion at the giant plushie centered in the middle of it, staring right back at him. "What is that?" he asked holding it up by its neck. "Put Princess Celestia down!" You said with a laugh, taking it out of his hands and putting it back down on the bed.

Noticing how confused he looked, you started to feel a little awkward. Did he think it was too much?

"Is something wrong?" he asked, noticing your expression fall. "No, no..." you said softly, putting your hands behind your back and looking up at him. "Just, uh, what do you think?"

He chuckled under his breath, a wide smile spreading across his face. "I think you're the most adorable peng I've ever met." he said, hooking his arm around your waist and pulling you towards him. "Although I'm a bit jealous of Princess Celestia here. Seems she's spending more nights with you than I am."

Resting your head against his chest with a smile, you laughed softly, to which he promptly tilted your chin up, giving you the most gentle kiss, as though he was afraid he'd break you. "I might just have to decorate your room next. We can match?" you told him slyly.

His smile faltered before he laughed, hugging you a little tighter. "I'll pass." he said with a chuckle. "I think you're pink enough for the both of us, darling."
