It’d been a week, every time they tried to sneak in and take something Hilda caught them. She always found out in some way and came storming to his flat, confiscating anything Fendi had managed to sneak out.
This time it was Florence who caught Fendi. He’d come in long after everyone else was meant to go home but it seemed Florence had decided to stay late. Thinking about it he wasn't sure if he’d ever seen her leave. Of course that could just be because he always stayed late.
No matter what the reason was she was here now. Timid but curious “Alfendi?” She peers at him round a corner. As if entering the room would be too much.
“Hi” he keeps his voice flat.
“You’re not -ACHOO- meant to be here,” she rolls into the room. He notes her hand still clinging to her IV. With no Lucy they’d never grown close enough for her to update him on her condition. He could feel Al wondering if she was okay.
He didn’t wonder about that. He just felt the anger flash through him, “is it any of your business?”
“You were shot.” she doesn’t back down but doesn’t move closer either. Staying near the doorway, smart.
“So? Shouldn’t it be my choice?” he snaps, glaring at Florence. She shrinks back against the wall, staring at him warily, “do you think you should have control over my life? Do you think I can’t make good choices?”
“You clearly can’t,” Hilda’s voice echoes through the empty halls.
“Ah-ah-achoo!”
“Florence, why don’t you go away?” Fendi snaps.
“You can stay, if you want,” Hilda contradicts. Was she just trying to annoy him? If she was it was working.
“I think I’m alright,” she mutters, not moving from next to the doorway.
Hilda turns back to Alfendi, Fendi scowls, “I can look after myself!”
Hilda’s eyes narrow as she strides across the room her finger reaches out and she jabs the bullet wound. The pain is instantaneous shooting through him, making his knees weak, “AH” he huffs, “what’s wrong with you? Why would you do that?”
“To prove that you can't look after yourself, you can’t even stand up straight!” he attempts to then, clutching at his shoulder but the movement sends fresh waves of pain through him.
He takes a shuddering breath, “how dare you! You think I was planning on getting poked in the arm! I was reading! I thought I was safe here!”
“You’re not. Lucy Baker is a killer, she clearly wants to attract our attention. She’s probably watching here.”
Oh, yeah, he’d neglected to tell her about the last time he met Lucy. How she wasn’t really a killer… It’d been so awful last time she’d called them crazy, and rejected Al for not being Fendi. They couldn’t go through that again.
It didn’t matter, going after criminals was their job and talking to Lucy would be easier if she was behind bars. “I am going to do my job!” he yells. He didn’t want to arrest Lucy but it was in his job description to at least find her. He had to at least find her, ask her why.
“You stubborn mule!” Hilda yells, “can’t you understand? I almost lost you!” was that tears in her eyes? They couldn’t be. Hilda was always so calm, so composed.
Years ago, after he’d been shot she’d said, “I lost you that day” she’d told people she lost her Alfendi. She’d told Lucy.
Everything seemed to slow, the pounding ache in the back of his head, no, no not right now, not like this, not again, “go away…” he groans, between holding his shoulder and not moving his arm for fear of flaring up more pain he couldn't hold his head like he usually did.
“What?”
“No not you it’s just…” he couldn't tell her, she’d never accept it. No one would accept it, no one was on his side, “Just let me do my job,” Al moves closer to having control, “and leave me alone!”
“Get out then!” she yells back.
“I just said not you!”
“Then who!”
His eyes dart around the room, “Florence!”
“What?” both women ask at once just as Al takes over.
JUST LEAVE, PLEASE. I CAN’T LOSE HER!
“I need to talk to Hilda in private, you’ve heard enough,” Al tries to snap at Florence, it just sounded calm.
“Okay, fine.” Florence wheels herself out, back to forensics.
“Why do you want to be alone?!”
“Because I don’t want her to hear how much I missed you. Idiot. Not everyone can hear about my softer side. If Lucy is watching here she’s watching you. We need to do this together.”
Hilda frowns at his softer tone but she chose to go with what he's saying instead of the time itself. A tone not fiery enough to be Fendi, “Fine but what about how I feel?”
Act offended, of course I care! I also care about not getting shot.
“I’m just worried about you getting shot!” Al tries to sound offended, “I care about your feelings I’m sure you’ll feel terrible if your shot!” He sounded too reasonable too caring. Of course Fendi cared but it was fiery, passionate. Everything about him was fiery. Hilda knew this fact too well.
“That’s not all, what are you hiding? What were you saying earlier, you were not talking to Florence,” Hilda moves closer, “what happened Alfendi?” she whispers, soft and vulnerable. A closeness that was Fendi’s.
“Don’t,” Al says, to both Feni’s anger and to Hilda’s closeness, “please, I can’t do this.”
We have to do this!
“Hilda, you trust me don’t you?”
“Of course, Alfendi, what's happening?”
“I can’t tell you but I need to do this.”
“Are you in trouble again? I’ve told you you have to do these things with people. You can’t just keep running off aline. It’s how you got shot.”
Al winces at that. If Fendi had never run off alone he’d never be there, if he had never run off alone Diane could well have blown up Lucy’s house (or a hospital, or a school, they still couldn't bring himself to care as much about them though, no matter how selfish). Maybe sometimes it was worth it.
“So tell me, what’s going on?”
Nothing!
“Nothing”
“Alfendi…”
“Just trust me.”
“I do trust you! I trust you with my like, just not your own! Would you accept that? If I told you to just trust me would you?”
“No.”
“Then tell me!”
I’ll cut your tongue out, I don't know how but I’ll figure it out don't you dare!
“I can’t,” he begins heading to the door.
“This isn’t you.”
“I know.” he exits the room.

Hello! I start writing my own fanfiction after reading yours! You are really inspiring me to try writing a story of my own and want your opinion! Basically, I'm writing RoR x Percy Jackson, (female Percy, like yours), but I will be writing a few twists of my own. For example, instead of Percy get teleported to RoR universe, they got teleport to Percy's universe instead. So;
1. Percy, (Percilla, I like that name and I also want to use Anthonius as Annabeth's male counterpart if you alright with it) is 18 years old and I planned to make that she lives at the Camp and works or helps as tutors and instructors for the younger kids.
2. I'm suck at smut and romance... So I'm not sure to add this element. Maybe romance but not smut because I sucked at it.
3. I want to make it as if Percy had long stopped hoping for PJO! Poseidon to act as her dad, but still longs for a loving father figure.
4. RoR!Poseidon is disgusted of his pjo! Poseidon's actions and behavior, making children non-stop but not once taking responsibility over them, or the very least monetary support.
5. I'm following bits of Young Gods too (my new favorite fanfic too, thanks for suggesting btw), and made all of the Gods and Goddesses were shocked, including Hera and Odin when the Half-blood children getting punished for their Godly parent's mistakes. Cue, possibly mass adoption.
That's all... Is this too much or should I dropped some parts?

but anyway, everything about your fic so far sounds great! there's one thing i wanna add tho, idk if the author of young gods got the oath worldbuilding from me or not, but i made a post talking more about the oath stuff in this post! you're welcome to use that idea too or even tweak it since mine was inspired by the actual myths about swearing an oath.

i mean i also read it because a friend whos rly into queer SFF fiction circles recced it but she did kinda lead with "the writer used to write hs fanfic...tasmyn..taz...?" to which i replied
of COURSE I read the locked tomb because i heard taz had written a book. of course. ill consume most any media made by a beloved homestuck bnf. thats also why i played undertale. and read like..snotgirl. and idk... watched the new dub of neon genesis evangelion.
if u made homestuck fanwork 10 years ago and havent even made it since chances are I still remember and I love you for it.
sdlkfhsg its funny you sensed that because that drawing did in fact start kinda more........ well, I'd be lying if I said my hands never wrought a drawing toeing over the pg-13 line LOL...
NOT to say i have a secret stash of porn or anything. in general im more interested in the implication of sexuality or mature themes over any explicit depiction. like everything i draw is so softcore itd almost feel silly to make a nsfw acc for anything.
but im not rly jumping to post anything on main either bc i get the sense i have a lot of kids in my social media following. it varies from site to site and fandom to fandom but the themes in my work often circle around childhood, coming of age etc and in general i like stories about kids so the fandoms i draw for have a lot of kids in them. even stuff like IT (stephen king) which is about kids but isn't necessarily for kids.. there were a lot of kids in that fandom lol.
actually thats why ive been censoring swears in comics lately because the tmnt fandom comes across to me as a little young...IDK I've had MULTIPLE people ask me what "sodomize" means because of the joke in this post and I'm like... I Cannot be the one to explain this to you. you have to look it up on your own klfsdhsdg like i wouldn't be doing this if i were doing a comic for mgs or even homestuck wherein the characters textually swear constantly LOL but sometimes u gotta change tacks depending on the faces u see in the crowd yknow.
i HAVE been thinking abt drawing nsfw of sunspot/richard rider/kobak from x-men red just because that comic seemed to be really asking for it. who knows.. if the need rly arises maybe my separate account policy will change.
its rly more a matter of the fact that i havent read/watched much of any other iterations... im sure id like most lol. I like most things related to my interests regardless of quality. i rly like the marvel ultimate alliance games for instance. sometimes seeing my fave guy is enough he doesnt have to be well written LOL. i dont exactly have a wealth of free time tho thats the real impediment.
i did watch the 2007 movie on new years eve and found it quite charming overall. and i have read about 30-40 issues between the mirage and idw comics. still feels like im barely scratching the surface but i liked em. i rly want to read all the sophie campbell stuff bc i think her work is interesting. jason aaron will be a mixed bag i think lmao. i say as the worlds biggest Wolverine and the X-Men (2011) fan.
hmm this is kinda hard bc i feel like i naturally draw very loose and the hard part for me is tightening it up. maybe some suggestions tho...
1) hand excercises. i think its easy to forget this when many artists sit in front of the computer all day but drawing is a physical activity u do with ur actual...bodys...muscles lol. if u feel urself tightening up it might help to strech (any google search for "artist hand excercises" should yield good results) or do a page of loose practice strokes like..big circles. long lines. scribbles. that kinda thing. whatever feels good for ur hand. this is also just good to do as a general warm up before u sit down for any drawing sesh.
2) draw further away from the canvas. as a general rule...when ur painting traditionally you do the big strokes with your whole arm outstreched and a long handled brush. and when you do the details its smaller wrist movements and a shorter handled brush. so it might help to take a step back or push back from ur chair a little.. or hold ur tablet a little further away. and hold your pen further away from the nib.
3) change mediums / brush types. some brushes and mediums are more suited to loose sketching and some more inclined towards detail work. so changing ur tool could help. also! i personally have this problem where sometimes if im using a brush i feel really familiar with the pressure to make a "good" "finished" "perfect" drawing is greater... if i want to force myself to loosen up ill switch to a tool i dont use as often so it feels like the pressure is off. a lot of times for me this is switching from digital to traditional. but sometimes its switching from a small pen to a big marker. or a smooth pen to a textured one. or a nice brush to a shitty dried up marker.
but also every body is different so i dont think these tips will work for everyone. u should listen to what ur body and mind tell u and how drawing feels to you
bro just sign up and set it up i dont think theres much to it... i dont rly think too much abt my itch.io store because its digital goods so u just upload the file and let it do its thing. no distribution work needed on ur part. youll notice i barely even advertise my itch unless i have smth new on there lol.. its easy. but good luck!!!
idk if im the best person to ask this im more a comic fan than i am a comic professional... a comic hobbist.
well. scott mcclouds understanding comics and making comics are good books on the craft. i think i had to buy them for a class in art school once.
other than that idk just keep at it. comics are really laborious i think for a lot of people the hardest part is sitting down and doing it.
i think a lot of people have a very instinctive understanding of how to read comics and what they look like so whatever you think seems like good way to tell the story you have in mind, its probably right. if u get stuck, study comics that have done something similar. most people in comics are relatively self taught and actually it can be problematic bc you can tell when a lot of comic artists are all copying the same like 5 old white guys LMAO. but on the flip side if you make sure to reference and study broadly your comics will almost assuredly feel unique.
sorry im responding to this anyways. this is just a really nice ask. i like when people reference my older work bc i feel like sometimes theyre subtly implying it wasnt very good LMAOOO. but its true! at least compared to the work i make now ^^ and the fact that im still making art is whats keeping me from being embarassed abt how much of my old art just floats around online lmao im never ashamed to be growing and learning. isnt that a nice thought <3

I saw the post about angst in your story. I want to put a comment but mine might be just too long and this app is just not ready for it xD, so I drop it here.
For me, the angst in ur story tilts towards the darker side. It's not just sad, unhappy stuff. I don't know how to articulate it in human language (istg), but I find it remarkably balanced and just feels right. It feels fitting, somehow.
Each arc in your story unfolds at the perfect moment, revealing itself in due course (what am i talking about). Tbh, your story might be considered heavy. I said this numerous times already (maybe) but I love the world-building in it (even tho my brain needs to restart every time).
The characters' backgrounds and the reasons why they are in their current state are intriguing. Moreover, although you introduce certain angsts, what I admire is that you never dwell on them excessively. They are relatable, logical, and not exaggerated or cringe-worthy. They are in the right amounts.
It's like, the story holds multiple layers of surprises each time you unveil the answers to the readers' questions of "why." Also, the angst within goes beyond than just sadness, contain/hiding various emotions and elements of irony.
I remember how the other readers and I went crazy (for fun) with theories in the comments when it was first revealed that Cale had a connection to the Secret Kingdom. We all anticipated something light and fluffy, but oh my goodness, jahahshfhf it took a darker turn that caught us off guard in the most unexpected moment. I love that aspect, and the transitions between each arc are incredibly smooth.
I also love every one of your original characters, (wait you already knew this ajshfkh) but duh, I've never had this much love or enthusiasm for fanfic before. I have a huge crush on your art and writing. It's therapeutic for me to see and read them. Thank you for the artwork and stories, even your daily shenanigans at your office @Xwitter are entertaining to follow up. Love isn't enough to describe how fascinated I am with your work.

I like to keep the characters realistic with logical responses in any case according to their traits and their back stories and whatnot, I don't like dwelling on anything too much in the plot, sure the angst part is important but if used too much it'll ruin the story not only for readers but also for me lol, it'll feel like I'm forcing it on the characters when, logically thinking, they wouldn't stay depressed for long or behave in certain dramatic ways, based on the way their brain works and all.
And yeah, well, my fanfic was indeed meant to be simple at first you know, but I naturally turn any plot I write heavy and dark with time, and it gets worse gradually but I try to hold back and be reasonable before I mess up at some point lolol
I didn't know you find my transitions between each arc smooth, I'm really happy and thank you for letting me know, all this time I stare at my stories and ask myself "Are there even arcs? Isn't it all a mess? Does anyone notice the transition? Is there even a transition?" Then laugh at my own writing and say it is what it is and keep writing anyway while confident that I'm doing everything wrong somehow XD
And you know, when I introduced OCs in my fanfic I was very sure no one gonna care or pay attention to their parts (except maybe my close friend lol) so I'm really glad to see some readers come to love them eventually, though I think Tristan is getting most love than the rest but that's expected considering his character and his role with Roksoo and Cale lol, I expected many readers would hate his role as their father but now the majority is cheering for him xDD
About my office shenanigans, you just made me recall how my followers on Instagram used to like and anticipate my stories about my daily life at work lolol I didn't think anyone would find joy in them also on twitter/X but glad you enjoy my comical work life 🤝🏻
Lastly, ofc I don't mind, at all, you don't know how many times I read your message and made me smile the whole time, thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me 💕💕💕

I'm a very long-winded person and when I like doing something, I like doing A LOT of it. I recently moved to Tumblr full-time after being stuck with 200-symbol posts on Twitter (ugh), so I'm using the full power of this blogging platform. I'm concerned about the AI, so it's all switched off on all my blogs. I hope Tumblr will wise up and survive, because I love it here so far 💛
I have a lot of fandoms, I like pretty art, I write and muse about stuff - it's all a huge mess if I put it one place. Bits of trivia:
I'm Czech, cis woman (bi & poly and, frankly, hyper), 32, in a relationship, mom to a 5yo boy, a writer struggling to finish and publish her first original novel, drowning her sorrows in fanfic instead :).
I got to most of my fandoms quite late in life, because where I live this info only started to properly flow in with the coming of the internet. I'm usually a casual fan, though when I hit a gold vein I can get a bit obsessed. I love writing fanfiction, which is mostly why I'm here on this site.
I self-insert a lot (therapy writing) and usually ship us, with the rare occasion of finding a couple where I can identify with one of them (or mold them to my image because I like or even fancy them). I've spent my life believing I was hetero and discovered I'm not only once I (finally) was in a hetero relationship and had a kid, so... my ships are also hetero. Wasn't gonna tag this originally, but if you follow me for my current chaiflower atsv fic, although it has nothing to do with it, being on the tag for atsv on AO3 has really made some things apparent to me.
Specifically how the fandom, and the fic writers on ao3 writes for the characters and their subject matter.
Now, dark fic and taboo subjects in fanfic isn't a new thing and it's never going to go away. Which is a good thing, bc the second we demonize and try to censor that kind of stuff, is the second we loose a lot of the kinds of stories we can tell.
Writing is a medium for humans to experience something with no stakes. Be it dangerous or just a good time, it helps us explore our thoughts, and feelings of scenarios we might never have to face but prepare us, or have already had to deal with and help us deal with those scenarios.
I'm also not gonna police anyone and tell em what you can and can't write fanfic about. Do whatever the hell you want, and make sure to tag your shit appropriately, it's a common courtesy and it's a bad thing to not do because even if you don't face any repercussions for it; do you really want to be the one people avoid because of a bad rep?
Moving on, let me just preference; I am an aroace person. I am also Mexican/Salvi. I think Miguel is cool complex antagonist and I'll admit he does have a sculpted ass lol. He's cool and conventionally attractive, with a neat personality people can mess around with. I get why there's a thirst for him.
But I think we should acknowledge how... He's treated by the fandom. Especially during that first week of spiderverse coming out. I don't mind smut, I just ignore it and move on with my day if smth doesn't appeal to me. But when you don't put fics under readmores, or put in tags so it's seen by everyone ur gonna have to deal with people skimming or having a base understanding of what kind of smut n stuff you're writing.
I'm not kinkshaming or anything, you do you, but it quite frankly has made me (and maybe a few others I've seen but don't quote me on that I only speak for myself.) Uncomfortable with this 'Latine Lover' trope people have stapled onto Miguel. I can imagine it's worse for his comic fans, but sometimes people really do be out here writing wish fulfillment smut fics where they're plastering their, kinda racist stereotypes and fantasies onto this Mexican character. If that was it tho? I wouldn't be making this. Because I know that eventually it would die down as time passes and we'd all move on.
Then came the flowerfang/MilesxMiguel (or any other of the spider teens) fics.
Look, again. Dark fic is a part of fandom whether you like it or not, it's up to your personal decision whether or not to engage with it. I don't. But I do think some people should be self reflecting and analyzing why these are being written at the high rate that they are and if you enjoy them or get something out of it is fine, but just be aware and critical of what you're reading and not let it cloud judgement or the actual characters' movie portrayals. It's so easy to let fannon dictate how you view characters, which are often dumbed down and stripped of their original identities for instant gratification.
When these characterizations become wildly accepted, it's often not an issue because people don't have to read it or engage with it in their own little corners. However it ends up highlighting the racism prevent in these spaces. Because to me, it feels like a lot of this is coming from white or young fic writers (although that maybe might not be the case, but I'm trusting my gut here. No shade to young writes either lol I'm close in age w the spider kids) Doing what they want with these amazing black and brown characters and low-key ruining the fun for non white fans, specifically Black and Brown fans.
Fandom is only a safe space and escapism for white fans, and anyone else is forced to carve out their own space and safeguard it from these racist depictions.
When Miguel is not being painted as a 'Latine Lover', he's a predator, or a violent monster, hypersexual Mexican man, or a creep, or someone who's unreasonably angry worthy of no redemption. It makes him so terribly black and white, and while he may be a dark gray that doesn't negate the fact his complexity is being washed away so these writers can have a clear villain who fits this view of violent Latino men hurting women, and kids.
And while I still have this view of a cool antagonist, and can block tags for my own safe experience, that doesn't fix the fact that his character is going through this fanonization with an abundance of dark fic will change perception. Things don't just disappear if they're outta sight. It's still there. With an oppressive force and sour after taste to see how bastardized he's becoming to a majority of what fics are being created and setting precedent for.
Same goes for Miles; saved by the fact he's a young, smart, skinny kid and the protag. But that doesn't spare him from his own fanonization as this meek, weak, soft, baby, cryboy who needs to be comforted or face the worst trauma ever in order to get some trauma porn/wump outta him bc that's all he can be used for apparently. Instead of the confident, heroic, creative, outgoing and friendly kid who sticks up for what's right. I can't speak for black fans and how they feel about this characterization of him. But as a latine fan?
Miles is amazing. He's funny and cool, he's young and talented, and he doesn't take anything from anybody because he's been taught right. I may not be Puerto Rican but Miles is just.... Such a good representation for other latines. So to see him be striped of these traits a lot of the time for others that have been exaggerated; clumsiness, awkwardness, emotional availability, sweet, and caring attitude taken too far it's bad.
Part of it is the racism. People see this dark skinned boy and babyfy him to make him less complex, take away the sharp edges for something soft and malleable, something more digestible and able to process for their own needs. And another part of it is;
Writing is hard.
Believe me! I'm a fic writer! It takes me a long time to write, I edit, and I go back to add or take stuff out, I rewatch or reread whatever I need to make sure I'm doing my best with these characters and somehow try not to fumble the bag with my own scenes and how I interpret their character and relationships to tell a good story to my standards.
And sometimes I still get it wrong!
Which is totally normal! Hell! You don't have to even do all that, fic writing should be fun. You wanna write that chatfic, dark fic, one shot, smutfic, fix-it? Do it! Find your creative drive and do something with it! You get better the more you try!
Sometimes people write and don't realize what they're doing. They're doing it for fun and maybe don't consider some of these problematic traits they're writing. Or they don't know how to approach the character, dumb em down so they can start easy at first, and then get comfortable writing like that instead of slowly getting better with time bc it's for fun.
I take the steps because I want to make something accurate and introspective, not everyone is like that. Even I like wild fun chatfics or crack fics once n a while to shut off my brain.
But you're gonna have to learn that not everyone is gonna like what you write. That if properly representing the characters is what you want, you take that time to put all the love and care into that writing. Putting in that extra work does wonders, and it makes you a better writer! And it creates a good space for others to feel welcomed into!
I didn't even get to how Pavitr Prabhakar is also woobified most often than not, or how discarded his girlfriend Gayatri is in favour of gay shipping (although she doesn't have much screentime, and his ships aren't with white characters so I get why it happens.), Or all the drama I didn't even know about till recently around Punkflower, and Hobie's character. But I'm getting tried so let's wrap this up;
Fandom is gonna fanon. Yes we are responsible for our own experiences and what fan content we engage in, but that doesn't mean we should also turn a blind eye to racism, problematic tropes, or bad characterization. Just because it outta site doesn't mean it's outta mind, and doesn't effect others. I'm not saying harass these creators, no. They are people and at the end of the day they're not hurting anyone and just creating like you are. Leave them be.
But what I am saying is that you have to be the change you wanna see in fandom. As cheesy as that is. You gotta create and encourage the people you do like and enjoy the works of, and foster a fandom that does more than take the easy route. With time we might just win out the bad white fanon.
Or maybe not.
But at least we tried, and we made our point.
(and for the folks who do struggle or participate in these racist tropes or portrayals and fanonized characters and realize their mistake or want to do better; I encourage you to take a step back, rewatch the movie of you can and really study the story and characters. If not? Then listen or read the posts of black and brown fans. We're not all right, and some even have bad takes, but try to broaden your circle. It'll help you make your writing better. I'm not mad, I don't hate these writers. They have their own amazing moments and fics it's great! They're not villains, they're just people doing what they think is fun. They just need a push in the right direction sometimes.)

How many times would you guess you watched the first back to the future movie?
Since I only hopped on this time train towards the final third of the year lol: fully all the way through, at least 4! Yes I did !!! It is actually the most fan content I've ever made for a fandom since I was in... maybe junior high? So like YUH. Tbh, it's very difficult for me to find what you would call 'pride' in my art so ehh >_>; that being said, I do think that I had a lot of good IDEAS for Doctober (esp days 19 and 28), but my execution wasnt really the best. I would have liked to draw days 17 and 24 (+ time travel day) a little more properly too; like, I'm not as disappointed at how they turned out, but I still wish they were better and/or I could have given them more time. The ones I most actually-tried-and-dont-mind are days 7, 9, and 21 + under the sea dance day. (So many links was probably cheating but tbf I've kinda bent the rules for the past few questions so... whatevs lol). I've ALSOOO still been working on my godforsaken essay, it is 40 pages rn but even tho it's not done, I'm INSANELY proud of it Q_Q

None! B) For one thing I'm graduated lol, but also I'm typically early gang. I'm that person who'd sit in the classroom by myself for like 5 minutes before everyone else would show up LMBO ^^;

Yess I did!! A... lot actually :0 Most of them were by chance/pre bttf era, but still :P Here is my list as well as I could find, sorry it is soooo long, but what are ya gonna do:
Star Wars/The Mandalorian; The Addams Family (1991); The Tale of Desperaux (2008); Cyberchase; & Clue (1985) -- Christopher Lloyd, havent rewatched the latter 3 since I was a kid and literally went :0 to learn he apparently was in them. Also Kings Quest (2015) which isn't a movie/show but I think it counts uwu
Stuart Little (1999) -- Michael J. Fox, which also rocked my world to discover O_O like hearing it now I'm like "yeah thats him alright" but as a kid I would never have been able to tell you that was the same guy from that time travel movie, despite watching both way too much LMBO
Elf (2003) & Last Vegas (2013) -- Mary Steenburgen, nothing much to say except that she slayed ^_^
Love at the Christmas Table (2012) -- Lea Thompson, I didn't care for it and was shouting "LEA GET OUT OF THIS MOVIE, UR BETTER THAN THIS" like the whole time lol.
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (2002) & Curious George (2006) -- apparently these have Donald Fullilove (Goldie Wilson) in them? Same w Jason Scott Lee (Whitey) in Lilo & Stitch (2002)??? And Star Wars/Kenobi show apparently had Flea (Needles)????? ...HUH.
I binged both the entirety of Law and Order: SVU as well as Seinfeld this year w my sister; apparently Mary Steenburgen, Lea Thompson, & Casey Siemaszko (3-D) are in at least one episode of the former, while Elsa Raven (Clocktower Lady) and Ricky Dean Logan (Data) are apparently in a random episode of Seinfeld each. So like, technically I saw them, tho I don't distinctly remember it :'D Also, I have been making my way through Little House on the Prairie recently, which has Matt Clark (Chester the Bartender) in a few episodes !
Finally finally finally, I watched I Don't Feel at Home in This World Anymore (2017), as well as the LOTR trilogy like. Twice? And they all have Elijah Wood of course >:3c

If you could describe your year in a BTTF quote, which one would it be?
The year in general is definitely "Oh great, the atrocity channel!" LMBO (but when hasn't it been since like... 2020? 2016???). For me personally, I think it's either "I don't know if I could take that kind of rejection." or "Don't talk to anyone, don't touch anything, don't do anything, don't interact with anyone, and try not to look at anything." ^^;

So i have fallen into a lil known side of the genshin fandom known as Sagau (Blame @rea-can-yeet)
Heres a lil something for yall-
Most sagau fanfics ive seen is either a whole cult or imposter situation where— at worse, you and the rest of the ppl die. Tbh its still a cult- (im not saying this is a bad thing its just smthg ive mostly seen and kinda grown tired off)
So instead of the two factors. This is a scenario I envisioned with a lil realisim into it. Not sure if anyone has done it, but i wanna share it nontheless—
The creator is hated by their own creation.
Im not talking abt Imposter situation where ppl think ur an imposter and tries to send u off to space ultimately (albeit almost-) killing everyone thats created in the process.
Im talking abt ppl with bad situations and backstories like Scaramouche to the ppl of the Abyss Order hating or just not aknowledging the Creator.
Ok perhaps not exactly hate but more like atheists. They question their existance and how the Creator made them, just like how some ppl like Rosaria or Tsaritsa doubts the gods or celestia. I find that if somehow these ppl dont even trust the gods, to hell they gonna trust the Creator. I imagine they probably blame the Creator for their bad situations and existances even though the creator just made them exists not exactly writr their stories.
So imagine the angsts when the isekai'd creator try to associate with those people like lets say Dainseilf perhaps, they blame creator for the destruction of Khaenri'ah and you gotta try and tell him- 'hey man. I love you and all but uh, that wasnt my doing-' and a whole drama plays out.
Also besides that, the creator in this concept will have a slight traveler role. As in, they know the shit Teyvat is going thru, (in general lah, they dont really know much of the details so they gotta go thru the nations maybe with the traveller) and is tryna help the ppl they put so much love into creating them
Theres prob gonna be alot of angsts and kdrama like here.
Oh yea, the monsters still likes the creator tho. Dem slimes and geovishaps loves ya to bits.

Connie hasn't been in a relationship. AT ALL. you're his first and longest relationship. two months in. he doesn't want you to know that. he's a little bit embarrassed about it. especially when jean and eren bring it up on a daily basis in their shared living room.
"you sure you want to get into a relationship connie??? you're out of practice. " eren teases
"he has no practice eren. jerking urself doesn't count" Jean laughs
connie huffs. they're right. how can connie pleasure you if he's never experienced any type of intimacy with anyone? no romantic or sexual intimacy.
sure you guys have had some moments but connie’s afraid it isn’t enough. he really liked you and doesn’t want to mess it up.
ignoring eren and jean, connie pulls out his phone to text you. you guys have been texting a lot, so those nerves have subsided.
he stares at his phone, he might not get nervous but he does hesitates to text you cuz he doesnt want to say the wrong thing.
connie blushes. eren and jean could make fun of him all they want, he’s the one that has a girlfriend!
“later losers, i have a date to get ready for.” he flicks them off and heads upstairs. has to make sure he looks presentable. maybe even edible😝
around 7:30pm, you texted connie that you were ready. he grins with excitement. he can’t wait to see his fav girl.
he looks himself over in the mirror one more time before he heads out. some baggy but not too baggy jeans, a plain white t-shirt and a jean jacket you got him randomly.
weather was fairly nice for the night he had planned. he wanted to take u to the local fair. ride some rides. especially the ferris wheel. he wanted to experience what he’s seen in movies. couples looking into each others soul at the top as the world faded.
connie gives himself a thumbs up and heads out.
connie gets in his car and drives to ur place. he got there right on time. he walks up to ur door and sends u a message that he’s arrived.
poor connie is hoping and praying that everything goes smoothly. he so deep into his worrisome thoughts that he doesn’t hear the door open.
“CONNIE!!” he snaps out of his thoughts and is met with you and ur brother porco. both you have a concerned look.
connie’s face turns bright red. he scratches the back of neck with embarrassment “s-sorry just spaced out a little. you let out a little giggle and shyly smile at him. you stand on ur tippy toes to give him a quick peck on the cheek “it’s okay. it happens”
porco scoffs “you better have her come before midnight. you hear me springer??” you roll ur eyes. porco swears he threatening. “yes porco he gets it. goodbye” you say dragging connie to his car.
“MIDNIGHT CHILDREN” “GOSH WE GET IT”
connie laughs at the banter between you and ur brother. he always finds it entertaining. “something funny springer??” you turn to him.
connie can’t help but admire you. ur outfit fitting u so well. he’s so lucky. “no sweetheart. just admiring my beautiful girlfriend” you blush. his hands find their way onto ur hips, pulling you closer to him.
you stare up at him, slightly turned on. you wrap ur arms around his neck and bring down to you to connect lips.
connie backs you u up again this car a little to hard that the car beeps. you pull away from each other. both a mess from one another.
“i guess we should get going right?” connie questions. damn you really wanted to continue making out with him. hoping that it would lead to something more.
you bite ur lip and stare him. ur way to turned on to go anywhere anymore. you sigh and decide to be truthful to him.
“connie hun, i’m very horny. the only place i wanna go is down town into ur pants!” connie’s jaw drops. shock written on his face.
you smile wide at him “we could do it in ur car. i’ve always wanted to do it in a car” u rub his arm “away from here tho” you say looking back at ur house making ur porco wasn’t looking.
connie is there trying to process everything. here he thought he had to plan out a romantic date to make some intimacy happen but who knew a small make out session would get the job done.
connie grabs you, opens the door to his car and shoves you in it. quickly making his away to the driver side. you watch and laugh as he gets into the car.
“i think i might a know a place that’ll give us the privacy we need!”
“onward springer!”

thank you! i'm very glad to hear i've inspired you. i'm kind of torn about my jack/sarika fic, because i keep toying with the idea of a sequel (my long-suffering draft) but.....for some reason, i've never managed to finish it, smth just wasn't clicking for me, i guess, idk, but maybe reading your fic would inspire me. ultimately, these are not my characters and the college AU is not mine either, and i would like to read more of them in that setting, so even tho i'm a little torn (mostly because i'm sad about my limitations/laziness lol), you should go ahead and write it, i'd love to see what you have in mind for them.

i'm a writer looking to get into making Undertale fanfics and i'm worried abt characterization revolving specifically Papyrus and Ive been told ur good at the whole Papy thing.
Do u have any major tips about nailing his character down?
Hmmmm tbh he’s very hard to write!!
Vomit all ur ideas onto a page then go through them with a set of questions to see if they are actually something that would happen for example, Is there canon evidence that directly contradicts this? Am I purposely dismissing things in canon in order to add this? Have I written something that makes another character look bad in ways adverse to canon to add tension? If so is there a way I can write this conflict occurring differently? And most importantly!! If Toby fox saw this would he cringe and cry and weep??
I also think it’s important to understand how papyrus interacts with the characters around him :-)
When it comes to writing characters it’s easy to dive straight into angst and I think you can do that with paps (tho one of the main things about him is his optimism so u have to be careful) but u can’t dunk on other characters while u do it,, some fics I’ve read have had sans be a bad brother.. or at least one that doesn’t notice what’s going on with papyrus when that’s just straight up… not true.. one of the first things sans says to frisk is that he noticed paps was feeling down and that seeing a human would cheer him up,, sometimes people go to undyne and see how she didn’t want to let papyrus into the royal guard because they think she treats him like a child which is also not true!!
A big thing the fandom does is project onto characters and say they infantise paps but that’s just not really how canon depicts them,, so main thing is don’t sacrifice canon characterisation for some quick angst
I think if u wanted to write angst for papyrus u could go into his past with gaster something he canonically goes silent over.. or maybe focus on him changing his dialogue depending on who is present,, what is he hiding?????? Or his insecurities about being great bc that is always interesting
u must also remember he is a silly guy!!!!!!!!! He says things like whoopsy doopsy!!!!!!! Very soft and full of calcium!!!!!!!! He’s just funny - sometimes ppl see this as him being dumb and write misunderstandings in the plot of their fics arising from him doing something that makes no sense but I don’t think he’s dumb he knows what he’s saying is strange and that’s why he’s saying it!! He’s a little freak!!!!!!
Also he’s a brutal kinda guy!!! Interpret that how u like!! Who knows what it means!
Add some flavour!!!!!!!! Add some of ur own headcanons in places where we are missing actual canon just make sure it’s believable! Canonically we don’t actually know if he’s autistic or not but like!! It fits!! So I like to add it in :-))
Just have fun with it tho, if u think u end up writing something that doesn’t fit it’s okay at least u recognised it for next time :D

Being a proshipper doesn't mean I support those things IRL tho. Try to look up the actual definition of proshipping instead. Proshipping means you don't care what other people ship and you're agaisnt censorship. That is the actual definition.
Proshipping has nothing to do with shipping pedophilic content. That's some bullshit antishippers have been spreading around.
Less than two years ago, I testified in court against a pedophile, so don't tell me I support that when I know full well I don't.
I've never written nor read any fics involving minors because I don't like that stuff. But I don't go around harassing those who do read and write it. That's what makes me a proshipper.
Calling everybody a pedophile is just watering down the severity of actual pedophilia. Instead of targeting someone who writes as a hobby, why not focus your energy on actual proven child molesters and actually do something to help victims instead?
And I do honestly belive the majority of antishippers are American people under the age of 25. I don't know why. Maybe because of the way sex is taught as something terrible over there in schools, if taught at all. I don't know. I'm not American.
And you say fiction heavily impacts real life. Give me some examples? I don't see any news articles about every single Game of Thrones fan suddenly engaging in incest or rape. I don't hear anything about horrormovie fans suddenly going on killing sprees after watching a movie at the cinema.
If you honestly believe reading a fic about rape will make you go out and rape someone, that means you're the one who has a problem. It means you believe you, yourself would do that. If you believe others would, then why not yourself? If you honestly believe that, then you should not be allowed to read or watch anything because you're the dangerous individual, not the person who wrote a fanfic.
Your logic doesn't make any sense, since there's countless of examples and research proving that plsying violent video games do not make a person violent. Watching movies that has teenagers engaging in any sexual activity does not make you a pedophile. So why is written content treated differently?
And howcome antis only go after no name fanfic writers who have a handfull of regular readers and not go after, say George RR Martin (who wrote a shit ton of incest and rape) or Stephen King (who wrote an orgy with pre-teen kids)? It's because your words wouldn't mean shit against an established writer, because everyone would just label you as a moron for trying to claim the author is a predator or sick individual. So instead, you go for the ones who don't have any way of defending themselves other than their own words.
That legit proves antishippers are nothing more than bullies, only choosing to target the ones they know they can harass without any consequences.
I've also seen antishippers who were all high and mightly on their pedestal condemning "problematic content" and then go right back to drawing or writing about monsters fucking human beings or worship their own favorite ship, who just happens to be a problematic ship. Apparently, it's only problematic if someone else creates something, not if they do it themselves. So to me, I see nothing else but bullying and hypocrasy.
You are fully allowed to dislike the content I make and the content others make, it's your right. But you do not have the right to police what they make or the right to bully them either.
You can call me disgusting and gross all you want, it doesn't make it true tho. So go ahead, keep living in your little bubble of hatred. I don't care, just try to realize, your perspective might not be the same as someone elses. Everyone are allowed to indulge in what they enjoy as long as no one is being harmed. And my stupid fics that are being read a few hundred times has harmed no one, so I really don't understand why you keep coming for me, but I guess you must live a really sad boring life if this is all you can spend your time doing.

hi!! tysm i'm so glad u liked the fic 💕 and i do very much appreciate u coming to me and asking whether u can post it on goodreads, bc my answer is -- please don't lol. i understand that u want to count it towards ur reading goal + i know this is coming from a place of u appreciating the fic, but even tho it's long my fanfiction is not a book, and i really don't want it to be treated like one. many people are respectful + kind on goodreads, but there are also many people who take posting fics on there as license to treat them exactly as they would books by rating + reviewing them publicly.
but my fanfiction didn't have an editor. it didn't have people looking over it + helping me with it; if it was a book it would be a first draft. it's also not intended for like....a broad goodreads audience. it's posted with tags on ao3 specifically so that the people who find it are people who are filtering + seeking out stories like mine, if that makes sense. i don't want random people to come across it and treat it the same way they'd treat a book, because it is a separate form of literature with its own conventions + expectations. but because not everyone who uses goodreads understands that, i've seen some pretty nasty stuff about my own + my friends' writing from people posting fics on there, all of which could have been avoided if those people just kept their negative reviews private.
if you really want to add the word count to your reading goal, one option is to add a book of the same length + maybe just leave a little note for yourself that says like "thtf" or something so that you know what it is. or if you want to make a new "book," then i'd ask that you just put something like "fic" or a broad term, or just like....nondescript letters, something where you'll know what it is but you're not actually putting the title of my fic + my username out there for anyone on goodreads to find + treat like a book, y'know? or u could also make a private spreadsheet to keep track of the fics u read, instead of using goodreads to track them. at the end of the day, what matters is that you'll know you've met your reading goal, right?

not a vague post at all but it's interesting to see this conversation of ... fandom being dead or whatever bc... ive been on tumblr since 2011 and i've never seen such an interest boom as during the pandemic. and normally i chalk this new deadness up to us all going back to work/the fact i don't truly understand what fandom was like "back in the day" bc i was a teenager who mostly just read stuff.
but at the same time... i wonder, really how much has ACTUALLY changed and died and how many new things + expectations + functions have been created from this recent surge?
it's so interesting to me bc a couple months ago i reached out to an overwatch reader insert account i followed back in... 2016? maybe. and spoke to them just like i'd send anyone an ask, asking how they were, if they had any writing plans coming up and saying i missed them. and they never responded, which was fine honestly.... but what i found a little baffling was that they went on to say they still accepted requests? and still wanted to run their account the same way they did back in 2016????
(it truly felt so alien. i was like... we're people now!!! we talk to each other now!!!!!!!!!!!!)
and that isn't to say anything in particular, but i feel like things have changed since then... at the same this request system has spoiled some readers with the notion they can ask for what they want and receive it... seems like some writers have also been tainted by the expectation that people should like everything they post. it's hard to express, but it feels like one of those snakes that's eating itself ... wanting a certain amount of praise for doing things u "technically" enjoy doing.
which isn't to say it's reasonable to ignore fandom writers or demand things on the other hand (it's not)... but i guess a lot of functions here have changed now?
and tho fandom has always been alive and well, communities can def run their courses and get smaller and more........ dead, as shows progress or end or take hiatuses and interest wanes naturally....
and tho i don't remember the point i was trying to make, i just wonder how much of this is a natural decline that's being clung to irrationally. i miss having a large community too. fanfic writers deserve the utmost of praise for the care and dedication they put into their work. but setting urself up for disappointment... isn't anyone's fault. and blaming people for that isolates u from those you want supporting u. i have no idea.

you know, i feel so inadequate bc i have such a lack of long fics and have a really hard time writing them (tho i do, just ... slowly and silently). but this is why i like answering to asks so much, bc the words of others inspire me (even if i've gotten a bit burnt out from my persona). and if this isn't u... you know, u write ur own stuff by urself, great!
but i feel like... in turn, this community is now in a transition stage (because we went from a community where everyone was having fun / getting asks + praise... to one that's smaller, isn't as buoyant or forgiving), and is readjusting itself to fit the new needs of writers, those who want to write their own complex ideas and those who need interaction to do so... and the readers that make both things possible finding their new places.
idk but... i think we're all relearning how to do this. and that shouldn't be blamed on anyone, regardless of feelings.
