Edgar had always looked forward to this every year. Driving around the city during the Christmas holidays had long since become a tradition among him and his friends. He can see December bobbing his head to Christmas music as he drives, fingers tapping against the wheel while they wait on their turn to go at the traffic lights.
Rain is busy staring out the window at the various lights decorating the store fronts along the sides of the street they’re on, taking as many pictures as they can get before the car is moving again.
In the back, Ambrose has half-dozed off, hardly paying much mind to the scenery after about the first hour of their drive. None of them bother to try to wake him, figuring he needs the rest, and Edgar has to admit— he’s just happy Ambrose is able to sleep peacefully around them all.
The most he does is carefully drape his jacket across Ambrose’s lap before turning his own gaze out the window on his side, chin resting against a hand as he settles himself in to watch the vibrant Christmas lights go by once they’re on their way again, Christmas tunes still playing from the speakers.
Edgar finds himself grinning, happy simply to be in the company of his friends enjoying something so sentimental.

I feel like the worst part about Clara and Velvette’s relationship is that Clara knows Velvette thinks she is giving what she thinks is love. This only makes their relationship more toxic. It forces Clara in odd scenarios where everyone is telling her Velvette is trying to hurt her, Velvette is manipulating her and that might all be true but it’s because she doesn’t know how to show love in any other way. The fact Clara is one of the only people who probably knows her past with her parents and Velvette coming from a broken home only adds to her own guilt for leaving Velvette. I imagine at one point she just snaps at Odette.

“I… you don’t get it. Velvette is complicated she wasn’t raised the way we were! Her parents- I- I shouldn’t say anything.”
“What about Velvette’s Parents? Clara what did they do that made Velvette this cruel?”
“I can’t say. I promised Velvette I wouldn’t tell anyone and I’m not going to break that promise! Odette, promise you won’t tell anyone what I told you?!”
“I-I promise.”
Velvette opens up to Clara because one, she doesn't actually think she'd been paying attention, and two, she sees herself as invincible, so she doesn't think sharing a little detail about her past with Clara would ever come back to bite her. Velvette never hesitates to vent to anyone who will listen, but unlike most people, Clara had actually heard her, and absorbed everything she said. Velvette makes fun of her parents for dying before she'd even made it to Hell. What complete, catastrophic losers they'd been. They'd never cared about Velvette, and treated her like their property. But Velvette had gotten the last laugh in the end. Their pathetic demise by Extermination serves them right.
Odette has good intentions, trying to protect Clara from Velvette. But she doesn't understand Velvette the way Clara does. Underneath the bluster and bravado is a sensitive person desperately craving validation. Not the superficial validation she gets as an influencer, but a genuine, mutual connection that she doesn't have to fake. Clara's always sensed this about Velvette, but the other woman would never admit it. She'd rather double die, then show an ounce of weakness. If only Odette could understand. Maybe it would be okay if Clara told her. Odette would never repeat a secret she told her in confidence. She trusts her sister wholeheartedly.

obligatory forgotten land ramble post
GOD. mind if i ramble about kirby and the forgotten lands ending. because holY SHIT. i know i beat the game like in march when the game came out but that doesnt matter. in this essay i will
incoming ramble, plus obvious katfl spoilers lol
.

now let me just say, i came into this game thinking that maybe the ending would be less insane, yknow, cause new game, new beginning n stuff, may wanna take it easy a little, NOPE. not at ALL WHAT HAPPENS. and honestly? i am sO glad they took this route dude.
during the lab discovera elevator scene i was literally trembling, just.. i KNEW this id-f86 creature was gonna be some horrific eldrich abomination we were gonna have to fight and i was TERRIFIED. like, the genuine terror they created in this scene is fucking immaculate. and the jaunty happy little elevator remix of the main theme just adds to it, just makes the scene all the more unsettling, and i fucking loved every last second of it.
then when i walk into the ominous glowing door i am greeted with THIS son of a bitch:
this thing struck genuine fear into my heart and what made this even SCARIER for me was because I didn't see that elfilin was safely locked away in another container right next to forgo, so i thought this thing was a horribly mutated fucked up elfilin. yeah
honestly i kind of wondered what it would be like if that were the case, because the idea of the cute happy little big eared creature you've spent most of your adventure with being mutated into this fetus-like abomination would have been absolutely HORRIFYING.
oh yeah, and about that! WHY DID HAL PUT A LITERAL FETUS IN THEIR GAME HOLY SHIT
honestly ive found fetus imagery in a horror context is just. YES. so good. i LOVE kirby's horror side just as much as the cute cuddly happy side, best of both worlds, but i digress
side note: unpopular opinion but leon's battle theme actually SLAPS its seriously underrated and for what
anyways back on track, i LOVE the emotion leongar's voice actor put into his voice clips, like he genuinely sounds like hes in EXTREME amounts of pain with his attacks, especially in the first phase, and. AUGHGHGH THIS GAME /POS
oh yeah. none of this fucking COMPARES to the cutscene after all this. and just. the fact that forgo is so angry with you it doesnt even care about its plan anymore. it just wants to kill kirby at that point. so it talks THROUGH LEONS BODY (i headcanon this wasn't even leongar's voice, it was just flat out forgo's voice) and just. the way forgo talks is also terrifying like. holy fuck
and the DETAIL they put into its eyes, it really just adds to it all, like it looks so realistic and horrifying. i know kirby games get dark, i've been a longtime fan but holy SHIT this entire ending is comparable to zero ripping its fucking eye out.
oh and the flesh wall. ooooOOOOOOHOHOOOOOOHOO BOY DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE FLESH WALL.
call me a piss baby all you want, but this was the first time a kirby game EVER made me feel GENUINE fear
like. the more you look at it the more terrifying it gets, and just. the two tongues it has, the heads of all the enemies you've encountered throughout the game, just. GOD yes
OH YEAH!!! AND HERE'S A FUN LITTLE DETAIL I HAVEN'T SEEN TOO MANY PEOPLE TALK ABOUT
at some point during the forgo chase theme, there's a segment where you can hear a series of terrified animal yelps. thats right. fucking ANIMAL yelps. the creatures absorbed by forgo aren't just dead! THEY ARE STILL ALIVE AND ARE TERRIFIED AND ARE PROBABLY IN HORRIFIC AMOUNTS OF PAIN. HOLY FUCK HAL ARE YALL OKAY OVER THERE
honestly, i'm NOT complaining about what we got at all, but dude, just iMAGINE how much scarier this could have been. imagine if there were alarms n shit setting off because forgo escaped, and the pre-recorded voice of the tour lady echoing through the hallway, and if it touches you, youll die instantly or if the boss was just harder, just. GOD i love this ending so much
imagine for when we see the concept art for forgotten land, GOD i cant wait for hal to drop the concept art for it to see if they had any even more horrifying ideas

Okay, Im onto ep 6 and I think I kinda figured out why I suddenly got so bored bc like. yea this is really boring in general rn but I wasnt that suffering this much when I started and I think its bc they dont have those cutscenes in the beginning anymore. I feel like those gave me a lil something to look forward to and make this a bit less tedilus but now theyre not there anymore :( also I really wanna see Zane again and it pains me that he doesnt show up until like ep 40 smth
Okay, I think I'll probably put a small timeskip here and do like the equivalent of a montage of Aphmau repairing her house n interacting w/ the villagers some more
So yea, Aphmaus moving into her new house, thats a good opportunity for some Aph/Emmalyn bonding and interactions w/ the other villagers. Also, depending on how this episode goes, I might want either Garroth or Zenix to help out too, but I'll wait to see how this ep goes first
Oh god this entire episode is literally just Aphmau moving huh
Maybe Aphmau built a lil chicken enclosure thingy during that aforementioned timeskip and some other stuff like more wooden paths n stuff
Anyway, Aphmau finishes moving in, maybe we can have some villagers like her friends n stuff wanting to celebrate that a little or smth but shes just like "nah sry guys, Im tired from all this moving" and takes a nap
Vischers death scene is fine ig?? I'll probably tweak it a lil bc it honestly just seems kinda comical the way it is now. (Ive read some of the comments and one of them even mentions that they laughed at Vischers death here, but that it was pretty impactful in the remake, so maybe I'll watch that for some ideas) I'll probably add a close up or too or maybe write that scene from a perspective that focuses more on him
Aphmau in the OG doesnt wake up from that explosion at the docks even though she lives pretty close by?? Idk, I feel like theres not really a point to that and I think having her wake up all confused and afraid, maybe going out to check on the village first before then going to the docks would be better? If we completely take out that scene of Vischers death and just see Aphmau sleep and then get woken up by this loud explosion noise, it could even make for some good tension
Also, theres this weirdo outside of Aphmaus house?? I'll move it back to a bit later but keep it the same otherwise bc I dont remember wth hes doin there
At the docks, I think we should linger a bit more on the destruction and just generally have Aphmau be a bit more upset but otherwise everything is the same, Zenix n Paul are still there even though its pretty late in the night/early in the morning (maybe add a detail abt Paul looking tired)
I'm keeping the Convo between Zenix n Aphmau as well as the one between Paul n Aphmau the same, but I'm switching their places so she approaches Paul first bc hes the civilian, he just lost his best friend and would probably have the bigger reaction and just be someone that Aphmau would be a bit more worried about as opposed to the guard who should be more used to stuff like this
So yea, shes still kinda distraught but goes over to Garroth like Zenix told her to, their convo is also the same as the OG
Aphmau accepts and tries to make plans for building a boat and for potentially rebuilding the docks while she goes around town. Shes thinking about how exactly she'll approach this bc building a boat is kinda difficult on your own but shes like not supposed to tell anyone else that this happened while walking around the village and sees Brendon, so she goes over to talk to him
The convo plays out like in the OG with her telling him about the docks but ommiting Vishers death. Also, it takes place outside somewhere, not just. in his house that Aphmau just waltzted into bc she can
She feels relieved that she has at least one person to help her know and decides that thats probably enough, maybe have her walk around and consider telling it to other people before she comes to that conclusion though
After that, she gets home and just keeps trying to think up plans on how to fix things, its p difficult when someone died and shes supposed to build a boat so she can bring his bff and his dead corpse home but yknow, she manages. somehow. Alternatively, she could have a sort of quiet reflective and/or mourning moment instead, Im not fully sure in which direction I wanna go in when it comes to her character
OKAY im done w/ this one I hope I can work up to at least ep 10 today

Is there any past tmnt moments/episodes/movies you like to imagine rottmnt style?
ooooooooh yes yes yes yes yes a good ask a very good ask (taps fingers together excitedly)
First and foremost, the 2007 movie with some alterations. Where as I could see RISE Raph taking on a Nightwatcher Persona (Red Angel of Preventing Harm anyone?) and I could see RISE Leo living in South America to continue his training, there are some alterations I would have to make
2007 Movie Verse
1st of all, Leo isn't all angsty and sad. he's loosing his mind. He probably had a bunch of rock 'brothers' aroudn to talk to and argue with as he laughed manaically. Adn the reason *he* didn't return home when he was supposed to was because he didn't think his brothers wanted him back, he thougth he had failed and deserved to be all alone. The only reason he did return home was cause April (on a school trip) convinced him to come back atleasat for some super exclusive jupiter jim item he had preordered ahead of time. And when he sees how happy his brothers are to see him he stays purely out of guilt without acknowledging his own feelings and still feeling guilty about Splinter giving him the leadership role
2nd of all Raph isnt' angry and angsty the whole time. Raph still becaomes the Nightwatcher as I said, but he also feel so guilty about his decision to go agaisnt his fathers wishes that he tries to make up for it by being overly optimistic, which becomes worse when Leo gets home because Raph is upset he's not leader anymore but doesnt' want Leo to know he feel sthat way. SO instead of glaring at eachother and making snide comments They're being overly " OH HI BUDDY! BIG GUY! BIG RED!" with eachtoher. And of course there's still the fight which almsot plays out the same way, except instead of blaming eachother their blaming themselves
Mikey becomes a cooking youtuber. He started off making great good on it but foudn he only got more views when he messed up so he continuously puts up videos of him failing while cooking which affects his self esteem but becuase it helps makes money he keeps doing it :c he's sad
Splinter is wracked with guilt when he realizes he never shoudl fo send Leo away and though he puts on a brave optimistic face for his sons, he regularly retreats to his room to sleep and eat carrots to make himself feel better (why carrots? he doesn't deserve the sweet embrace of ice cream)
And ,of course, theres mah boy Donnie. His mental health is suffering, he's having meltdowns more and spends more time in his room. Seeing his family so different makes him feel alienated and he wants to blame Leo for the change but because he knows its not Leos' fautl and he's not sure how to deal with his emotions he spends more time playing video games by himself and only talking ot Shelldon (who often acts as a go between between him and his family cause he can't handle alot of social interaction at the moment)
In the end, everyone confronts thier guilt to themselves and eachother and help eachother heal :3
2003 Series (my personal favorite)
For this i love to imagine the "Shredders Strikes back" arc (which is the infamous "Leo goes through the window" scene for this series happens) Which is super interesting cause of the events leading up to it would be different. I'm not sure how yet. Maybe They're spying on the Foot Clan? Maybe The Foot Clan is spying on them as they have a sleep over at Aprils either way Leo ends up running to the store alone to pick up a itme which leads ot the Foot Ambush and Leo, being Leo underestimates the fight and makes a bunch of jokes. which slowly become more and more frantic as more foot show up. Then of course Shreddy shows up and does his thing adn bam window scene. And of course we keep the "Tales of Leo" episode which is more humorous and heart felt
I'd also want to use Good Genes arc which....wont go into details for reasons (dont look at me like that)
of course, I'd have to do a "Across the Universe" Arc (which includes SAINW cause haaha Donnie torment) which would basically play out the same except I can see Mikey's arc being alot more "OK I GET IT YOURE SUPER HEROES I WANNA GO HOME!!!" and Leo spending five minutes on his phone weeping casue " DIDN'G THEY HAVE THE INTERNET IN FEUDAL JAPAN!?" and Raph whose more anxious adn probably needing some comfort from Hawk (was that his name? HEEL BHNA FANS) not too sure about Splints, he'd probably be nuts going rabid
I woudl also try to incorporate as many Casey epsides as humanly enough, cause 2003 Casey and Rise Casey are differnt but similar enough I'd love to do that character study
OOoh then theres imagining the justice force as Yokai rather then just super heroes

yr brain? galaxy level. i wanna hear all ur lore and stuff
you know what ? im gonna write the basic plot for soogas backstory here now too-
- his parents were both sheikah soldiers serving the royal family, they were nearly never home so he barely even knew them and was pretty much living on his own from a young age on
- they both died while on a mission far away, but that didnt change much for him other than him having to find a way to earn money himself now
- when he was a teenager he was recruited by the royal family (he wanted to tho) which is also where he met Hibiki (my only real zelda Oc .. sorry gotta involve them now- this is how they look, although they are older here than when sooga first met them
i think i forgot to post this on tumblr lmao; anyway they are an artist and a bit older than sooga)
- since they were both outcasts with no relatives that cared about them they quickly became friends (tho it was def more one sided at first bc Hibiki is a way more extroverted ) tho Hibiki has been a bit longer in the army so they rarely went on missions together and only hung out during breaks or when they had both time off
- even after years of training they both stayed in the lower ranks of the army and never managed to climb to a higher one, part of the reason was that Hibiki didnt do a good job of being a spy, not bc they were detected, they just never had much information to report for some reason and Sooga always defended them when they got bullied by higher ups for it (you know how he threatens ppl) which in turn made him less liked and got him almost kicked out once (and yes, Hibiki did have a crush on Sooga but he never realized that even tho they made it REALLY obvious)
- you know the story how link got appointed as zeldas bodyguard ? with him deflecting a laser from a malfunctioning guardian to protect the princess ? yeah, so in my hc, while he did deflect it it didnt straight up hit the guardian back but rather was simply redirected and although Hibiki tried to pull Sooga away it still hit the left side of his face which is how he got that big af scar and lost his eye
- he survived and of course Hibiki was there to take care of him whenever they could, but the more time went on while he recovered it was made clear that the higher ups wanted to kick him out of the army after his wound healed bc they didnt think he was fit to fight anymore missing an eye (thats what they said but it was pretty obvious they just wanted a reason to get rid of him)
- Hibiki reassured Sooga they would do everything they could to convince them otherwise bc they knew that all he ever wanted to do is be a strong and respected soldier serving the royal family, but who would listen to the worst spy in the whole army .. he got kicked out anyway of course and was forced to work as a farmer (more like help other farmers really)
- from then on Hibiki was trying to be a better spy, so they could earn enough respect to maybe get the army to welcome Sooga back into their ranks
- but one day when Sooga returned from some field work he noticed a new grave at the corner of the village, and asked who died, it took some time for him to find out it was Hibiki who fell in battle bc after they left the village they never returned so the other villagers forgot even their name, the army brought their body back into the village since they were borne there and didnt have any living relatives
- that was what pushed his resentment for the kingdom and the other sheikah over the edge really, he stole some ancient hidden away sheikah scrolls from the elder of the village and used them to teach himself some techniques ... or at least TRIED to, the only one he was able to manage was a half functional clone, which he used to fake his death and live a live in the shadows, staying away from settlements out of fear of beign recognized
- he made his way into the gerudo desert where he never went to before, and in a cold night snuk undetected into the yiga hideout in the search for shelter since he wasnt equipped for that kind o extreme weather .. tho he didnt realize what he just did
- in the morning he was found after all and, understandably, attacked bc wth how did that guy even get in here ?? after he managed to survive for pretty long given the circumstances, he tried to flee but was stopped by master kohga himself, and while kohga was monologing about .. stuff, Sooga realized this might be his chance to live a proper life again and that pretty close to what he always wanted, so he promptly asks to join them
- positively surprised kohga of course cant just accept him into the clan like that, i mean Sooga was wearing sheikah clothing and got UNDETECTED into their hideout and took a nap there for several hours before being found, thats suspicious as hell
- after being put through several tests and challanges he is accepted into the clan after all-
- now fast forward post calamity (just a few years tho) the topic of Soogas origins comes up and he tells kohga alot but is interrupted bc koh ask him if the friend he was talking about was “a kinda weird artist” ... turns out Hibiki died in a clash with the yiga clan and ... was killed by kohga himself.
- Hibiki always carried a sketchbook in a bag around with them, and the clan took it after their death bc they thought it might contain useful info, it didnt, but since the sketches in it where pretty good they kept it anyway even if it was only half readable since it got soaked in blood
- that is a reveal that tested soogas loyalty to the clan like nothing else could (everyone in the clan including kohga, was expecting him to turn against them again, but were still waiting for him to actually betray the clan)
- sooga didnt turn on them tho, reason was, he managed to seperate the pages of the sketchbook that were stuck together from blood and discovered finely detailed art of the hideout, of its interior too and even of kohga as well
- Hibiki never had much info to tell their superiors bc they snuk around the hideout when on a mission but never with the goal to rat the clan out. they secretly admired kohga and the clan, even wanted to join them for a long time, but never got to do it bc they didnt want to leave Sooga behind but also .. they were afraid to tell him bc he was so focused on becoming a good sheikah soldier they were sure he wouldnt feel the same; they were torn between wanting to join the yiga but afraid of destroying their friendship with sooga ..
when they got into that fatal fight with the clan, kohga didnt even attack them with the intend to kill and they could have easily dodged or parried the hit, the reason they didnt was, ironically, bc they were so stunned by admiration of seeing their idol right in front of them they didnt move a muscle until it was too late...
this got longer than i thought, maybe i went into too much detail here, but anyway this is a summary of the backstory i came up with for Sooga, it doesnt end here tho, this is more like the story of how sooga became part of the yiga; after all of this comes alot more tho it wouldnt make much sense to add that here too xD

L’manburg curse au thing
(this was the best thing i could come up with, ahhhhhh)
Just a lot more information around the whole au, also if you have any ideas feel free to add them on! i love reading through them all and they’ve given me a lot of ideas aswell! so thank youuu :))
The curse
The curse of L’manburg basically infects people who are put into power of the great country. it forces said person to go on a path of insanity, just leading them to their own demise
The curse can affect people in different ways, it adapts to the persons own personality, problems, insecurities, fears and ext. The curse’s ultimate goal is just for the person in power to die (in misery) so their soul is trapped and can kind of be consumed by the country. idk if that makes sense but uh y ehahhh.
where did this curse come from? well you’re going to have to wait to find out ;) i’ll probably reveal it soon thought because it adds a lot to the story. oh also this curse will affect Willbur, Jschlatt and Tubbo ;);)););)
also one last thing to add. Because their souls would be trapped in the land after they die this means they would be stuck there as ghosts. As ghosts they are unable to leave L’manburg and are doomed to stay on the land, completely unable to move onto the next peacful stage of life. They dont really remember life when they were under the curses influence, so they both only remember everything up until they were elected (for wil its around when he runs for presidency against Quackity). Schlatt only appears to connor whenever he comes to L’manburg because he’s one of the only ppl he remembers and likes to chat with an old friend. Wil shows up to mainly the og L’manburgians (+ phil and niki), however he kind of avoids tommy as the last thing he remembers is being with him and he thinks him being dead might somehow be his fault.
Wilbur
Wilbur took the longest for the curse to fully activate on him. When he began as ruler/general of L’manburg he held a lot of love for his country and people which makes it harder for the curse to start manifesting. It didnt truly start until a few weeks or months after the first war, when he realises that his people can go against him at any moment and so he needs to keep ahold of his power over L’amnburg. Which leads to the whole election.
The curse made Wilbur become incredibly possesive over things he believed belonged to him. These things could be: L’manburg, his freedom, other peoples freedom, his people he used to rule over, tommy and maybe more things. The curse also fed into his paranoia, so he’d constantly believe that every single person was against him. It was him against everyone, so he felt as if he had nothing/nobody to hurt or lose.

Tubbo just doesnt want to die. He has experienced too many near deaths that he becomes terrified of death and he will use all of his power to make sure it doesnt happen.

i love lists, so im gonna list a few things of advice/tips basing myself on what you said!!!
i personally don't do engagements anymore, so i can't really help you in this regard of even more activities you could do 🧍♀️ what i could recommend for people to get to know your characters' personalities and private lives and grow attached to them, add in BTS posts.
continuing on my BTS’ post thing, they are a GREAT way to show more than what the public sees for your royals. because from a press and public point of view, you don't really know 'what goes on behind closed doors'. they could be all happy in public, but in privatE??!??!!?!?
as i said in my starting out guide, i did have around ~15 drafts done before i started posting. just so i could not stress about “oh my god i dont have any posts for tomorrow”. a LOT of ppl do posts and queue them as they go, and they have MANY posts done and usually they start accumulating and they are MONTHS in advance compared to what they’re currently posting. if this method works for you, you can definitely use it!
please, please please read your dialogue OUT loud. is it possible to say a 2093023902 word sentence without a singular use of punctuation? do people in this age and era really talk this way? also please if possible use correct grammar. just a little pet peeve, it can take a reader out of the immersion your story gives them.
we all have our lil dialogue habits. mine is starting sentences with “oh” and the infamous dash “—”. others use ellipses. just make sure you aren’t overdoing it. for example, doing a sentence like “oh— there you are. i was uhm— looking for you. how—how are you? its—i mean where have you uhm— been? yes—ive—ive been fine. you? i mean— your mom” ....just no 😔 it doesnt read well at ALL
you can always do lil filler posts, dont tell anyone tell you otherwise. post a little simstagram post, a little family portrait, updated portraits post, family hanging out, kids hanging out, etc.
for posing sims, i do try and remember where MOST of my poses are in the ingame list. usually creators’ correctly naming the poses helps a lot. for example i need a Mel Bennet pose; hers are usually ALL in the same spot and have the same lil aqua bg so i can easily find them. sometimes, i dl pose packs VERY specifically for a certain scene. am i gonna use them again? no. so i open the .package file in sims4studio and rename them to “00 for emi scene [rest of the og name” so when i open my game, they are around the top of the list! no more scrolling and i easily know what i need it for.
dont be scared to plan things that are happening MONTHS from now or anything in detail. some ppl dont like planning things in detail, or even dont like planning things AT ALL or things that arent happening say, in over 2 weeks because idk, they get bored. i recommend at LEAST having a list of things that HAVE to happen so you have ‘goals’ and you slowly plan out how you’re gonna get there. at LEAST theres some level of planning there. if you’re posting and PLANNING as you go, there’s gonna be holes. and it’s gonna be obvious.
editing wise, i don’t do much. my reshade does most of the work, i just add in my psd, add text and done! this is easily the fastest thing you will ever do.
if you get inspired by someone else doing, idk, a certain layout for the portraits, them adding little things to their captions, a certain edit, etc. if you want to do something similar and you ARE very much aware you were inspired by them, credit them in the caption. i beg. its free, its the nice thing to do, bc if not its rude.
if you get inspired by a certain storyline someone else did and you notice yours is gonna be similar, go ahead and send them a message to let them know and if they have any tips or feel uncomfortable with you doing this. simply put, if you don’t, you’re gonna look bad. we are all bound to do same storylines, such as assassinations, shooty shooty’s, stalkers, first loves, accidental babies, etc. but what changes is how each person approaches it. no ones gonna do it the same way as you and others. if you CONSCIOUSLY start copying else, stop it. and you could even be unconsciously be inspired by someone else too. it happens! just make sure you are able to look at the bigger picture and realize “hey, i’m doing something wrong”
same thing with dialogue. you like a line someone else said in their story? don’t just... steal it and incorporate it into yours word BY WORD
OVERALL: you can be inspired. give credit where it’s due. and don’t copy because someone else is doing ‘something others like’ and you want others to like your story. no no no !
im adding this AFTER i posted it but, be yourself. in the way you interact with others and send questions, etc. don’t try and copy someone else’s personality because they are liked and essentially absorb them. be yourself and i’m sure a lot of ppl will like you the way you are : D
for my writing dialogue etc, this goes back to my point 8. i use milanote, its free and you get 200 free thingies to use, and i plan out how every single one of my posts is gonna go. so i just have to go ingame and i already know what im gonna do. no thoughts, just taking screenshots. for example, this is how a part of my part 2, chapter 3 posts layout looks like. every square is a post that has what is happening, who is in it, what is gonna be said very vaguely, etc:

Okay, "twos a crowd" fan theory time! The new chapter has been on my mind all morning. Read the fic, then read my crack theory!
So this qoute from the new chapter (SPOILER ALERT) "Eh, apparently he’s related to someone on the board of directors, and he needed a job. I don’t care to look into it anymore than that." -Sam
Caught my attention right away. It's a quick one off convo between Luz and Sam about Andrew, the horrible no good councellor.
Now every story needs an antagonist, but here's the thing. There are dozens of kids that could be the creative foils for Boscha/Skara/any bully really. But Crusader decided to make Andrew and call him out as a villian. In earlier chapters the other leaders openly show their dismay for him. So why is he there?
The in universe explanation is that he's related to the board of directors. But it still feels fishy. Either he's a red herring. OR hear me out on this… Andrew could be a Belos spy!
Crazy? Maybe but I've been running for 2 hours and this is all I had in my brain. Belos is a baddie, he needs kids for some nefarious purpose. Why not a summer camp where problem kids go? Where kids who run away or drastically change (via changling, magic spell or hypnosis) would not catch attention?? Since the point of the camp is to change kids "for the better"
Luz (who is nicknamed Zombie) acts diffrent from Cannon. And not diffrent like "small details that are changed to mesh with the fic" Big diffrent like "forgetting Azura facts." And this ISNT because Crusader can't write. The man has written Cell Dates! Which means that its all on purpose!
So why?? Like I said Andrew is working with Belos! Andrew who hates children, is a horrible all around. If he's related to the board of directors he wouldnt be working at some summer camp. But he is so why? Money? Summer Camp leaders dont make bank so its not that. So instead what if he was there to kidnap or see which human children are compatable with the Isles? To see which kids can be taken without any pushback?
Zombie! Luz is having dreams about the Isles, she forgets in the morning but still! The facts that the Isles (which we know is real) Is mention in flashs has to payoff at some point. Zombie! Luz also doesnt remeber key parts of her life (like her mom) and she lost everything BEFORE she got to camp. (Including the backpack that Cannon Luz had at the start of TOH.) I know its before because the bag wasnt on the Bus. And there isnt a plausable way they wouldnt find her bag since most camp bus drives are like 3+ hours (and are retired for the night upon returning to a city).
Luz has met witches at least in her "dreams" Which I am convinced is either her seeing an alternate self, traveling to the isles when shes sleeping or was magically split in half (thats a diffrent theory). But the Isles is real, its been mentioned in passing, Andrew has no creative foil (that I've been able to see) and a very weird personality for a guy who works with kids.
I know it's not super convincing right now, but as more chapters get released the we might find out more!
And unless @thecrusadercomrade Tells me otherwise, i will die on this hill.
But if anyone else has something to add, then please add on. I know I have little evidence but the pieces are there!! I just need more people to help me put it all together!
(Or this is a Red Herring and I'm totally crazy.)

okAy so we know that logan and roman love playing make-believe together
roman for obvious reasons yknow, creative performative dressup
but logan because did you see how eager he was to dress up like sherlock holmes and impersonate a robot in the puppet episode? plus he's a doctor who nerd
my man loves silly pretend play
they somehow manage to make everything into a make believe game
when logan needs to do the laundry but roman is bored, they pretend they are experimental scientists adding different chemicals (detergent and softener) to big subterfuge machines (the washing machine)
i know nothing about science pls dont judge that detail too hard
when roman hasnt been outside all day and logan wants to convince him to go outside they are now archeologists in an excavation site (the backyard) looking for fossils (helping patton deweed the flower bed)
moving onto my other headcanon
roman and logan love playing with building toys together! and will even build with things youre not meant to build with
im talking elaborate grecian inspired architecture built with jenga blocks
(logan loves the history and engineering of it, roman loves the grandness and beauty of it)
and they get k'nex!!! its a toy building thingy
and patton actually bought it for them because he was a tiny little incy wincy ickle bit annoyed that they used all the sugar cubes to create a scale replica of buckingham palace one day when it was raining
and logan wants to adhere to the instructions of course (left) and roman wants to go BIG BOLD UNPRECEDENTED (right)
so of course they reach some sort of compromise that isn't boring but that won't take up half the living room floor and be a safety hazard
logan starts by laying out all of the pieces in categories and in groups of five which makes it easier for roman to picture what he can do with the materials since he is a visual thinker
when they are building it they work together better than they ever have before, theres no arguments, only throwing ideas around
and roman is of course little so he is very excitable and bouncy and usually he is better with the more intricate jobs but logan takes over since roman is just so excited that he's shaking a tiny bit
and roman gets pouty when he can't get a .. long thingy to fit into the..... the corner thingy (shh im not an engineer)
and logan rlly gently takes it and says 'here, little prince. if you pinch it a little' *slots them together* 'it slots in easily'
and roman is like :0
and logan realises roman is actually subconsciously copying him a bit!
so logan will be standing back from their work and scratching the stubble at his chin in thought
then when roman poses a solution, logan looks over and sees that roman is in the exact pose that logan is standing in but the little prince doesnt even notice hes doing it
and internally logan knows its just a subconscious sign that youre comfortable with someone
but it still makes him think about children who copy their parents to learn
and maybe just maybe he squeeze romans shoulder and pulls him into a little half hug before they go back to the build
then virgil wakes up from his afternoon nap!! no he isnt a baby, adult virge just likes sleeping
patton is out running errands so virgil chills in the living room and shyly sits crosslegged to watch them
and romans littleness is just too infectious it doesnt take long before virgil is now baby vee and he's sucking his thumb and reaching to his mama for cuddles
and roman is a bit sad when logan picks vee up and takes him upstairs to get changed because he thinks when they get back lo will be focussed on vee
but when they return with vee all diapered up in his little clothes, logan places him by their feet on the carpet and gives him a smooch on the cheek then stands back up to keep playing with roman!!
and that REALLY excited the little prince so he starts rambling to vee about how cool the roller coaster is gonna be and how him and mom did it together cos roman is a big boy
and logan adds 'and you're very smart'
and romans face splits with a grin 'a-and - and i - and-and im really smart!!!!'
virgil is pretty happy just watching because he has a rattle and honestly that could keep him entertained for hours
but at one point roman needs a piece and they realise vee, being the otter pup he is, has claimed the piece and is holding it protectively to his chest (its been there for half an hour)
and roman really needs it but virgil whines and starts tearing up when roman tries to take it from him
so logan suggests 'vee do you want to help? do you want to be like your big brother?'
and virgils eyes liight up and he bounces in his seat
'roman can you show your little brother how to do it?'
and logan has to lift vee up because he is in too young a headspace to stand on his own, and roman is guiding virgils hands gently to put the piece on (its more roman doing it really)
but roman whispers 'vee i know a really clever secret. you gotta squeeze it a little' *slots the piece in and smiles at virgil* 'then it goes in better!'
and logan has a little moment
because roman listened to him and is replicating logans behaviour and it means that roman is comforted by logan and is trying to do the same for vee
and logan doesnt fricking care anymore he plants a big kiss on romans head
when it's finished they are nervous to see if it works and they pretend they let virgil switch on the motor because hes the baby but its also a bit because logan and roman are nervous that it wont work
but it does!! the little cars go along the whole thing and do cool loopdy loops and all!!
they NYOOM!!!
and they all cheer and have massive smiles because seriously no one is immune to that feeling of satisfaction when the dominoes all tumble or the jenga tower falls or the k'nex cars zoom along the track
and logan looks at how excited roman is and 'you did it little prince!'
and roman chants 'we did it we did it we did it!' and launches at logan for a tight hug

jaskier’s breakup album
alright full disclosure i probably went into way more detail than i needed to. but jaskiers a dramatic little shit and therefore so am i. but this album slowly became my baby and I've been listening to it for the last 2 weeks while I've been doing homework and its a good sad bop. these are just my opinions, but i think it would be cool to see what other people think (esp because im fairly new to this fandom). also this post is really long. sorry about that.
so. we all know jaskier is a bard. he traipses around writing songs about whatever fling he's having or about his witcher. netflix canon makes it pretty clear that geralt is one of jaskiers muses (and probably one of his more reliable ones given what we know about jaskiers dating history). jaskier is also very, very dramatic (as I'm sure everyone knows cause he's the damn comic relief that show desperately needs). in particular though the scene at the beginning of 1x05 where geralt is djinn hunting and jaskier stumbles upon him, drunk, singing off key, and rambles about how "the countess de stael, my muse and beauty of this world, has left me. again. rather coldly and unexpectedly, i might add. i fear i shall die a broken hearted man” and jaskier is clearly half muttering some sad attempt at a breakup song he's trying to write at the beginning of the episode so the question is, wouldn't he do the same thing post mountain scream down with geralt?
the answer is of course, yes he would because jaskier is nothing if not a dramatic little shit. and i am proposing that he writes not only one but an entire album (or set if this is canon era, but if this is canon i think he would keep a great many of these songs to himself, only playing a few select ones with the hopes that someday geralt will hear one and realize how badly he fucked up) of break songs and lamentations about geralt, because say all you want about what their relationship is, but one does not simply go traipsing around the entire continent with someone for 20 years and not grow close to them in some way shape or form (and the show makes it clear that geralt is at least one of jaskiers close friends so). now what is on this breakup album? well I'm glad you asked.
i peg jaskiers music (modern or canon honestly) for this album as being a combination of taylor swift’s folklore/evermore albums and james arthur and ill explain why.
taylor swifts folklore/evermore albums have this almost ethereal, floaty, reminiscent, indie vibes. there are many metaphors, recurring themes and its overall kinda dramatic at points which i feel is exactly what jaskier would be doing right now (it also just kinda gives me canon era vibes, idk). but james arthurs music is much more emotionally intense which i think is definitely in character for jaskier at this point because he strikes me as someone who copes with things through his music. both artists do the sings through story telling in an almost monologue manner which goes along with that kinda bardic music and all that. i also think that jaskier would want geralt to know that these songs are about him because hes dramatic like that (kinda like how taylor swift writes her stuff). anyway here's what i think would be on his breakup album:

so theres 22 songs which im sure jaskier would do on purpose cause hes a dramatic little shit ( “one song for every year i wasted on you” or something of that sort). jaskier being a dramatic little shit is going to be a recurring theme. some of them work better for modern era than canon era but as a whole this can be interpreted as either romantic or platonic. anyway lets unpack.
1. the lakes by taylor swift (more canon era interpretation)
this song is the bonus and final track off of folklore. the song is actually about how she wants to go live in seclusion with her boyfriend out of the public eye but that is not what it means in this interpretation. i think that this song is about how jaskier feels as though his career as a bard is tainted now because he spent so many years singing geralts praises and there is no way he will be able to escape that part of his life because undoubtedly hes going to get requests for toss a coin and others he wrote about geralt and people will probably know him as “the witchers bard”. so this song is him talking about how he wants to run away and live out his life in seclusion because geralt took from him one of the only happinesses in his life.

Those Windermere peaks look like a perfect place to cry
I'm settin' off, but not without my muse
the line “i dont belong and my beloved neither do you” references the fact that jaskier feels like an outcast now that he’s spent years traveling around with a witcher, notoriously outcasts from society, so he feels that he doesnt belong anymore either.
I want auroras and sad prose
I want to watch wisteria grow
Right over my bare feet
'Cause I haven't moved in years
And I want you right here
the second stanza references his idealization of living out his life in solitude, with nature, where no one can judge him (and geralt cant yell at him).
jasper would have started this album with that song because it states his intentions: he feels as though he’s done with singing. it could also refer to him leaving the public eye (in modern era) to write this album.
2. from me to you i hate everybody by james arthur (more canon era interpretation)
songs 2-4 on jaskiers album are ones that he wrote at various points while he and geralt were still together/best friends/etc. these three songs establish what the relationship was like before everything went downhill, but they are kind of melancholy, like looking back on a past love (which is what jaskier is doing). this one jaskier wrote about when they met. geralt would have heard him play it before and he would have known that this song was about him (he probably also secretly liked it and jaskier putting it on his album would have been like a slap in the face because it wasn't one that he had shared with other people, thinking it to be too personal). if this album had been released in modern era, jaskier would have released this song as a single to get geralts attention. he would have definitely wanted geralt to know that this album was about him.

So I didn't have to think or hear the whispering
I stand with people telling lies again
In suits and ties again and I just need a friend
they meet in the tavern and its clear that jaskier is Not having a good time and really just needs a friend, hence why he decides to go talk to geralt.
You walked into the room and cut the atmosphere like a knife, alright
Sobering mind 'cause up to now, I've just been wasting my time, ooh yeah
the “wasting my time” part is of particular interest because it clearly articulates that jaskier feels as though adventuring around with geralt was the best part of his life and before that he'd just been a bard with debatable songs. the song as a whole makes it sound like geralt was jaskiers lifeline.
3. maybe by james arthur (modern or canon era works)
this song, while geralt would know immediately it was about him, was not one jaskier ever shared with geralt. it would have been written a few years after he and geralt had met initially. the reason that jaskier never shared it was because it talks about destiny and geralt made it Very Clear that he does not want to fuck with destiny.
I don't know what's going on
Where you came from and why you took so long
All I know is that I feel it
Like it's the realest thing, I mean it
Something changed when I saw you
Oh, my eyes can't lie

this would have been what young jaskier felt over the course of a few years after traveling around (or befriending if this is modern). There was probably a slip up somewhere, or jaskier just thought that he got really good at interpreting geralts grunts and the line about the eyes is what he hoped/imagined/thought geralt was saying to him in return.
So maybe
Maybe we were always meant to meet
Like this was somehow destiny
Like you already know
Your heart will never be broken by me
So is it crazy
For you to tell your friends to go on home?

jaskier probably thinks that destiny is some wildly romantic thing hence why he compares them meeting to destiny. the line about heart break would have also hit especially hard after the mountain scene. also i think its pretty clear that jaskier wants to spend as much of his life traipsing around with geralt in the show (modern era wouldn't have been any different), hence wanting to spend the rest of his life with geralt.

this is the part that sells it for me. i think that geralt lambert and eskel would all be very close (admittedly i havent read the books but i kinda get that vibe from the fandom so). this part about geralt telling his bothers about jaskier and then jaskier probably meeting them would have been an Important Moment.
4. sad eyes by james arthur (modern or canon works)
aright so im not sure if geralt has heard this one before. i can see it going both ways. its a possibility that jaskier wrote it at some point and then would kinda sing it softly when hes patching geralt up after a particularly rough hunt so its one of those where like geralts not quite sure what the song is but then he hears it on this album (cause say this was modern era and jaskier actually did release this album geralt would totally buy it after a few weeks and then realize how badly he'd actually fucked up) and is like shit thats what he was singing all along?? but anyway this one is essentially about how jaskier thinks geralt puts too much pressure on himself and all that stuff

essentially jaskier can see through geralts bs and hes calling him out on it and wants him to just take care of himself for once (see: the scene in 1x05 when geralt says he cant sleep)

so this song begins the plethora of break up songs that jaskier wrote about geralt. this one would have been written some time after the incident, after jaskier has some time to reflect on the whole thing. i know that taylor wrote this song about enduring a toxic relationship, which kind of works if you think about the way that geralts treated jaskier and how jaskier interpreted it (but im not implying that their relationship was toxic or abusive or anything)

this is a little more literal with the screaming on the cliffside. jaskier wanted a reason to stay and geralt didnt want him to. jaskier knows that witchers dont feel emotions (or at least not like humans do) so hes been tricking himself into believing that geralt actually liked having him around, knowing that it was probably going to blow up in his face at some point. but he doesnt quite regret it, and doesnt want to be sad over anyone else.
6. naked by james arthur (modern or canon works)
this kind of goes along with hoax, jaskier probably wrote them around the same time. he’s admitting in this song that he would be willing to try to work it out with geralt, but geralt needs to change first (needs to actually communicate and let him in and all that stuff).

Yeah, I'm right here, I'm tryin' to make it clear
That getting half of you just ain't enough
hes quoting geralts words back at him here ( “all you ever do is mess it up” is pretty similar to the line about shoveling shit), saying that all hes ever tried to do is be good and kind to geralt, but geralt hasn't really done the same in return and while jaskier may have dragged him into some things, geralt also needs to take responsibility for what hes done as well.
7. right where you left me (modern or canon works)
this starts the Real Sad Boy Hours songs. this would refer to how he felt pretty much right after, not knowing what to do because geralt had been so much a part of his life for so long:

Still sitting in a corner I haunt
Cross-legged in the dim light
They say, "What a sad sight"
I, I swear you could hear a hair pin drop
Right when I felt the moment stop
Glass shattered on the white cloth

Some perspective, but I sat and stared
this is kind of the processing of the event. and also the moment on the album where the audience would realize that this relationship that he's been telling about until now definitely ended. this song isn't super super emotional, its more a jumble of thoughts cause he didnt know what to feel after the breakup happened. although he didnt write it right after the break up, it was written much after as a looking back.
8. all too well by taylor swift (modern or canon era works)
(the link to this one is from a live performance because i like the emotion in this one better) so this song is not off of folklore (its off of red) but its such a powerful, painful breakup song that i had to include it in the lineup because it seems like something that jaskier would have written very very soon after the incident. the memories especially that she touches on in the song (driving upstate, dancing in the fridge light, looking at the photo album, etc) are all very powerful and real and i can see jaskier doing the same thing. again, if this were modern era i think that he might release this one as a single. theres so much to unpack in this song, this ones gonna be a little longer oops.

this clearly references the mountain scene. they were a pretty good duo until geralt blamed him for all his problems. and jaskier was effectively stuck on the top of a very dangerous mountain that he would have had to navigate down by himself.
Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it
I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it
After plaid shirt days and nights when you made me your own
Now you mail back my things and I walk home alone
jaskier spent half of his life following geralt around, its likely that he doesnt know what to do with himself or his life now that he doesnt have geralt to follow around on adventures. he doesnt know what to do anymore (see the first song).
But you keep my old scarf from that very first week
'Cause it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me
You can't get rid of it, 'cause you remember it all too well, yeah
this is more of a hope that jaskier has. he hopes that geralts held onto something of his that he left behind. maybe he left a shirt in one of roaches saddle bags (canon) or a notebook in their apartment (modern) that geralt just cant seem to get rid of. he would like to think that he had an impact on geralts life and that it wasn't just all for nothing. in the beginning, he wants geralt to be just as hurt as he is.

It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well
this is a dig at geralt. he'd never had someone to follow him around on adventures before, much less a human. as far as we know it seems like jaskiers the first human that has even given him the time of day. this is jaskiers way of throwing it back in geralts face
9. impossible by james arthur (canon or modern works)
this would have also been written very soon after the incident. it is more jaskier being mad at himself for not seeing the signs than him being mad at geralt. it is almost like his admittance of the event and like hes finally accepting what happened.
I remember years ago

jaskier is someone who clearly falls in love (or at least screws around with people) easily so its likely that someone would have given him some advice along these lines once. but when he met geralt its likely that this caution went to the wind.

this hints at the first song on the album. jaskier has no stomach for singing for audiences asking to hear about the adventures of geralt of rivia. this is his way of telling geralt that, almost as his punishment, he should have to deal with the people who ask why hes not traveling with his bard anymore, because jaskier has no intention of doing so. this is pretty brutal because (as we know) geralt doesnt really enjoy talking about feelings, or talking at all in general.
10. exile by taylor swift (modern or canon era works)
this is a fictitious conversation that jaskier wrote as occurring between him and geralt. it can be looked at either way but i think it makes more sense if bon iver is jaskier and taylor is geralt.

this first chorus is from jaskiers perspective. note the use of “homeland,” as home becomes a theme on jaskiers album. in geralts version of the chorus the line instead is “youre not my problem anymore” which is probably what jaskier took the whole mountain thing to mean.

(the () in this are geralt) this is jaskiers lamentations about how he didnt notice geralts abject discomfort in their relationship and also his regrets in not being able to remedy the situation.
11. illicit affairs by taylor swift (modern or canon works)
so this song is clearly and obviously about an affair. however, i have seen interpretations of the song where people view it as being in a relationship that is so intense and well hidden that in a sense it is almost like an affair, like in the aftermath you’re not even sure if it was real or you deemed it because there isnt really a trace of this other person anymore, and that is the way i think jaskier would have written this song.

the dont call me kid, dont call me baby part would reference jaskiers humanity, he has a normal human lifespan at least in canon (very much unlike geralt) so geralt might brush him off as being young and stupid. jaskier would have made this album to show geralt that hes not being young and stupid, that this did screw him up, and hes suffering cause of it. kind of like a reality check or a slap in the face.

the secret language would of course refer to geralt himself. hes a hard man to understand (especially cause half his vocabulary is grunts) and hes also a witcher. so jasper had to learn to understand him and now he has no use for that anymore. and the ending line about ruining myself. that would be jaskiers admittance that he would do it again, he'd do it all again, which comes back up in later songs.
12. safe inside by james arthur (canon era interpretation)
this is one that jaskier would have written maybe a week or so after the incident. the song itself deals with distance and coping with not being in someones life anymore, and i think that that is something that jaskier would struggle to cope with because hes not sure he wants geralt to be alone. this song is more for jaskier than for geralt.
Everyone has to find their own way
And I'm sure things will work out okay
I wish that was the truth
All we know is the sun will rise
Thank your lucky stars that you're alive
It's a beautiful life
obviously geralt can take care of himself, but its kinda clear that he doesnt much like his life as a witcher (the part where he talks about them getting slow and killed). so this is kind of jaskiers way of almost reminding geralt that his life on the path is still beautiful and important now that he back by himself.

this is more jaskier worrying about geralt being by himself. he hopes that hes okay in the aftermath of this this and that hes taking care of himself still. because of course jaskier would write a whole breakup album but still write one song about how he hopes the person is doing well.
13. quite miss home by james arthur (modern era interpretation)
this song. oh my god. its so amazing. if you dont listen to any of these, at least listen to this one (actually im pretty sure no ones read to this point so if you have thanks). this song is kind of more along the same vein as the previous one, how jaskier misses geralt but its more for him than geralt. he would have probably written it at like 3am in a fit of tears and weakness, and debated long and hard about whether or not to put it on the album, but done it anyway because what does he have to lose? theres a lot to unpack here tho so this is going to be a longer one. (sorry)

All these memories feel poignant

this is a very very clear picture of an event that seems to have happened a great many times, so much so that it seems like second nature. its like a little glimpse into what their life was before this incident. its intimate, but it still is melancholy.

this is where jaskier is now, it provides some opposition. its like a culture shock almost, like hes so used to this intimate lifestyle with another person that its jarring to be by himself.

the key here is what jaskier is referring to as “home.” it's not the place, its geralt himself. all these memories center around him, not an establishment. (calling geralt “home” comes back in later songs.) again, this mosh of memories is like theres so many of them that its almost overwhelming but its stemming from jaskiers need to feel something other than lonely and hes craving this reality that hes lost.
14. my tears ricochet by taylor swift (modern or canon era works)
this is a song that really emphasizes jaskiers dramatic little shit tendencies. this is something that he wrote, trying to predict what geralts reaction would be if he found out that jaskier died. this is really just jaskier fantasizing that geralt didnt actually mean any of what he said and does still care about him. theres many lines in here that are jabs at geralt (if I'm dead to you why are you at the wake? and Even on my worst day Did I deserve, babe All the hell you gave me?), but i think this is the most important one:

this is again, jaskier referring to geralt as home. as seen in the last song, he clearly wants to go there, but he cant. this could also refer to where he grew up, which he cant go to either because his parents still view him as a disappointment (as seen in finally). jaskier saying he still talks to geralt is completely in character, he probably still curses him and the whole thing. but the part about geralt not being able to sleep at night and hearing his stolen lullabies is really hard hitting. jaskier likes to think that geralt wouldn't be able to sleep without his banter or his lute playing or something of that nature. over all its a very powerful song.
15. phoenix by james arthur (modern or canon works)
this is a fictitious apology that jaskier wrote from geralts pov, kind of what he wished that geralt would say, but knows that he won't.

in this “geralt” outlines what he did wrong, and that he didnt mea what he said at all. again, this is more for jaskiers benefit because he knows that even if geralt were to apologize to him, it wouldn't be to this extent.
16. this is me trying by taylor swift (modern or canon works)
this is jaskier trying to articulate the fact that hes trying to pick himself back up after everything, his way of showing his “healing process” and that he can do it, he doesnt need geralt (as the song shows, its not going very well)
And it's hard to be at a party
When I feel like an open wound
It's hard to be anywhere these days
When all I want is you
You're a flashback in a film reel
On the one screen in my town
And I just wanted you to know
That this is me trying (maybe I don't quite know what to say)

its showing that jaskier is having trouble enjoying things that he once did (like parties) because hes still so distraught over what happened with geralt, but at the same time he also wants to show geralt that he doesnt need him. it has a very i dont care kind of attitude, but jaskier at the same time is having a hard time showing geralt that hes doing okay, hence the “maybe i dont quite know what to say” which is out of character for the very talkative bard
17. happiness by taylor swift (modern or canon works)
this is more him convincing himself that things will be okay. he's clearly trying at this point to move on, but its proving difficult because geralt was his happiness for so long:
There'll be happiness after you
But there was happiness because of you
Both of these things can be true
There is happiness
he also repeats the line “havent me the new me yet” a few times, which i think is again him trying to convince himself that its going to get better and he will move on from it. but this line is the one that i think hurts the most:
No one teaches you what to do
When a good man hurts you
And you know you hurt him too
this implies that 1. he still thinks geralts a good man (not a monster) and 2. that he knows he hurt him to and doesn't know how to fix either of them. this is also kind of him giving up on how to fix it, but him recognizing they were both at fault is important for the arc of the story.
18. death by a thousand cuts by taylor swift (modern or canon works)
this is another song that is not off of folklore (its from lover), but i wanted to include it because it think it has a little bit of anger to it (especially in this live acoustic version that i linked) which i think that jaskier would feel a few weeks post incident in a fit of rage, like why am i still feeling this way? why did you think that this was okay?? and its right after happiness, which shows that his healing really isn't linear. there's many lines in this song that pertain to geralt and jaskier and i could talk about the whole thing but im not going to
But if the story's over, why am I still writing pages?
this i think is very jaskier. its so raw and like, i know this is over, why am i still writing about it? why am i making an album about this? why should this still matter to me? its very angry and again, like many of the songs, like a slap.

this part, especially if you listen to her sing it, (which i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND BTW) is very passive aggressive and the the last line is like quite sarcastic and downplays it, like, yes you put me through all of this, but i guess its *just* a thousand cuts. this really shows that in many ways geralt was a part of jaskiers life, and his sudden removal from it would have stung in many ways, and thats not something that you can get over quickly.
19. empty space by james arthur (modern or canon era works)
this song starts the beginning of jaskier getting over geralt. these last 4 songs would have been written much after the incident, after hes had time to think, but there's still this nagging in the back of his head thats like, well what if im being stupid and he is the one and im supposed to go back?
I don't see you

And I don't miss you
You're not in every single thing I do
I don't think we're meant to be
And you are not the missing piece
I won't hear it
Whenever anybody says your name

this is more what jaskier wants to be, not what he actually is. he thinks that hes over geralt, but hes not (the chorus gets into it more but im not going to talk about it here, but it essentially says “only you can fill this empty space”) clearly jaskier is further along in his healing process, but hes still having second thoughts. he wants to be over him, but he knows hes lying to himself, very deep down.
20. coney island by taylor swift (more modern era interpretation)
this is the true moving on song. it’s still laced with memories and speculation, but it puts clear distance between the two of them, much more so than empty space does because it lacks the longing. it just shows things for what they are.
And I'm sitting on a bench in Coney Island
Wondering where did my baby go?
The fast times, the bright lights, the merry go
Sorry for not making you my centerfold
its apologetic, but nothing more than that. it dwells more on what could have been rather than what he wants it to still be.
The question pounds my head

this is interesting because it addresses their immortality and how they've been together for years and also the way in which they left things (paradise). but it also implies that things were on the downfall. and the last two lines about forgiveness is interesting because it then calls geralt “too wise to trust me and too old to care” meaning its more a wish of jaskiers rather than something he knows geralt will do.

these are all very specific, very intimate moments that would clearly mean something to geralt. and it further implies that jaskier is uncertain if he actually made geralt feel appreciated when they were together. but again, its more what could have been rather than what jaskier wanted it to be, which is a nice segway into the last two songs.
21. new years day by taylor swift (modern era interpretation)
this is another one not from folklore, this song is the closing track on reputation, but i like the nostalgia of it so i decided to include it (and it also has good parallels to the last song). initially jaskier intended for this to be the last song on the album, but decided to add another one last minute (and we will get into why). this song is more jaskiers muted longing to still be with geralt, albeit in the far future.

Candle wax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor

this interpretation is very much like the actual songs interpretation: the desire to stay with someone through the unexciting parts of life, like cleaning up after a party on new years day. additionally, wanting to start something new with someone (being there with them past the midnight kiss and actually starting the first day of the year with them). additionally though, there is the line of “dont read the last page” which refers to the last song on the album, which we will get to.
Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you
And I will hold on to you
Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere
this is more jaskiers reality. hes torn between holding onto these memories and hopes and actually facing reality. he wants to hold on to geralt, but he also kinda wants to move on. and the last line about the laugh, thats more jaskiers own hope, he hopes that he will come across geralt again and things will work themselves out.
22. the 1 by taylor swift (modern era interpretation)
the decision to make this song the last one on the album was a very last minute decision, and it was written significantly after the rest of the songs. the reason for this was without this last song, the album ends on a note of hope “Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere” but this last song is more of a reality check and acknowledgment that what's done is done and that it will never be again.

I thought I saw you at the bus stop, I didn't though
this refers to the fact that its been some time since the whole thing and jaskiers kind of changed a little bit. he claims hes doing good, and maybe is going to try out a new career (since the first song references wanting to put music down for awhile). seeing geralt at the bus stop is a reference to cardigan where he says “chasing shadows in the grocery line” where hes not actively looking for geralt anymore and it doesnt upset him that he didnt see him.
I guess you never know, never know
And if you wanted me, you really should've showed
And if you never bleed, you're never gonna grow
And it's alright now
this is jaskier saying that hes almost glad that it happened because it gave him a new perspective and it was a learning experience. he also says that its alright, which is the second time that hes said hes okay, which probably means he isnt completely, but hes much closer than he was on the rest of the album because hes not still looking for geralt at every turn

this is jaskier acknowledging the fact that geralt has probably long since moved on with his life, either with other romantic people or with his life entirely (the first time he does this on the album). he says that while their love or friendship was unconventional it still was definitely something (implying that it may have been one of the greatest loves of his life). and the waking up alone part references quite miss home and being by himself, but it isnt sad, its just a fact at this point.
But we were something, don't you think so?
Roaring twenties, tossing pennies in the pool
And if my wishes came true

In my defense, I have none
For never leaving well enough alone

this is the part where we see that jaskier has grown. hes recognized that his wanting to be with geralt was never anything more than a fleeting wish or a moment that couldn't last. but he knows that it had potential and it could have worked but it didnt and thats okay. in the last chorus the pennies line is “rosé flowing with your chosen family” which implies that he and geralt were close enough to know each others family (chosen or real), meaning that it meant something. and he wouldn't have minded a long term relationship with geralt, but its not what happened.
in new years day jaskier says “dont read the last page” this song is that last page. part of him still doesnt want geralt to know that hes put aside the hope of it working because he wants to still keep himself open for geralt, but knows that its not healthy and ultimately he needs to move on. hes essentially giving geralt the choice: remember jaskier as wanting to get back with him (since the last line of the album would have been “please dont ever become a stranger who's laugh i could recognize anywhere” or let him have the knowledge that jaskier is done with him (since the official last line of the album is��“but it would have been fun if you would've been the one”)

ik the croods isn’t part of rotbtd (it can count in extended universes, but generally its a no) but i feel i have to talk about it because it genuinely scares me regarding the rotg rumours (which im skeptical about).
The Croods was part of what i consider the golden era of dreamworks animation. and it came out after rotg, its on the advert reel on my rotg dvd, i cant not compare the two.
Dreamworks made some amazing movies in terms of plot, characters and graphics. I’ve never seen movies as detailed or as pretty as some of the movies that came out during this period.
Rotg has amazing skin detail, and was able to make a magical, bright world without me feeling like it was a set or that it was made out of plastic.
the Croods was imersive, the characters movements and the use of colour to show their progression from animalistic/closed minded to human/open minded was top notch.
Kung Fu Panda made anthro animals behave like real animals long before zootopia, it commented on extinction and genocide, self worth and so much more.
Megamind is an amazing movie about a villain who we sympathise with from the very beginning becoming a hero, it comments on racism and the treatment of neurodivergent people.
so many of dreamworks movies have been favourites of my dads because they let men be big and gross and still let them be soft and vulnerable.
I enjoyed so many of their movies as a child, more than any of disney’s, and i still enjoy them now.
but Croods 2 makes be terrified for any potential rotg sequels/tv series or what not because it’s... it looks bad...
my biggest issue is that it’s not telling the story of the croods. its telling the story of the bettermans - and you can absolutely do that... in another movie called the bettermans.
if the writers wanted to carry the plot forward by having the croods meet up with new, more civilized characters then they should have shown the croods struggling, and feeling ‘other’. maybe it makes guy feel split between his new family and the culture he feels most comfortable in. make the plot about self worth and confidence and family instead of a cookie cutter ‘im trapped by my parents’ plot. that’s just the same as the first movie, only you’ve removed the fear and survival sub plot and replaced it with ‘ooh no scary thing, dont leave the walls or youll die’ which just feels like tangled or frozen or even shrek. it’s an overused plot that only works when the subplots or character development is compelling.
and good god the colours its so saturated i think im gonna vomit.
look at these shots from the first movie,
pretty right? now look at these ones,
i am utterly disgusted with whoever okayed this plastic, saturated nightmare.
the textures from the last movie are absent, instead we get plastic people. and i think someone applied the same critism to httyd 3 bc the hair doesnt look like hair anymore. its off. the clumpyness of it in the first movie was better than the airbrushed look it has now.
just to compare, heres the croods from the first movie vs the second. take a look at the skin details, the hair, the textures of their clothes,
its more evident in the close ups of eep’s scars,
compared with this from the first movie,
THE LINES ON HER HANDS! HER FRECKLES! EEP BABY WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOOOOOOUUUUU
but the reason this scares me so much when it comes to a rotg sequel is because rotg is loved so much for its visuals and the way it handled the ‘villian threatens the world’ plot because that is also overused but it was so unique in rotg because of the characters and the way they behaved.
the croods was similar to rotg in most regards. they both had amazing textures, colours, worldbuilding, characterisation and both handled their overused plots with grace (although rotg was a bit rushed at the end tbh).
and what makes it worse is that rotg can be expaned upon in so many directions. there are so many mythical figures they could add. i dont want a movie about the leprechaun or the ground hog or a banshee or mermaid or whatever they choose. i would want a movie developing the characters we already got. we had a whole movie introducing these characters and their dynamics! Use it!!!
Just take a look at what they did to the croods, then look at what we got in rotg,
it would be so easy to tip these over into saturated clusterfucks, but they didnt, and it is beautiful. but that also means that rotg 2 could be soooo fucking gross looking. not to mention the character models. can you imagine someone like jack being airbrushed?
look at the detailling!!!!
I can see the veins in his hands, and the way the frost sticks together on his hoodie!
i understand that the croods 2 is not even out yet, but im already disapointed and i havent even MENTIONED the pink sloth (kiilllll it).
my point is that dreamworks took an amazing movie and stripped it of everything that made it good. and rotg has so, so far to fall.
the croods is exactly what not to do with a sequel, and it’s similarities to rotg? the fact that it’s the same damn company?

(this is less of a theory and more of a debunking of the mv though)
warnings: mentions of violence, murder (i wont include gifs of the bloody moments but it will be discussed!!!), animal abuse, and a bomb or two ? (someone gets blown up ;-;)
honestly the debunking might get a lil bit dark around the ling chao and ziyang individual parts, so be warned of that!

oner - AGENT (this is a song, but there’s quite a bit of dialogue near the end that ties into this plot!) (cw gunshot, beeping noises that resemble a bomb ?? - all at the end of the song w/ the dialogue)
okay lets dive into it d(^-^)> !!!
to get the important info out of the way!
the start of the mv shows the three of them chilling on the couch, as friends do, watching,,well themselves on the screen (oner’s past performances as idols) (and i do believe that the idols part of this has some significance that i can figure out). the important takeaway from the beginning rlly is that they’re three good friends...who are completely unaware of each other’s secret occupations
their occupations being: ziyang, a murderer, yueyue, a spy, and ling chao, a hacker
now to jump into the main story! (starting around 1:35)
yueyue and ziyang both have the same target: the man in the restaurant. however yueyue gets there first and does his job well, as he gets away without being caught. ziyang is frustrated that his target is taken already.
*interesting detail here, but when trying to enter, ziyang shows them a ring with a purple jewel in the middle for entry,,,coincidentally, the man yueyue kills in the bar in his personal segment in the film later also has the same ring? obv the ring is for the restaurant entry so maybe ziyang wasn’t going to kill this “boss” but maybe negotiate/discuss something with him instead...but also thats disproven by the fact that ziyang pulled out a gun to presumably shoot him before realizing the dude was dead....
but also,,,suspicious how there was a zoom in to the purple ring when yueyue kills the man in the bar..maybe it means more than we think it does? altho im not too sure what to think abt it for now

speculation: someone hired ling chao to kill someone who will be approaching the phone booth; at this time, lc doesn’t know that this someone is yueyue (and is v shocked to see him there through his cameras as evident by his “what the hell! are you kidding me?”)
....and after this part the film dives into their personal stories to give more background on who these three are (i’ll expand on those after i finish explaining the present timeline ^^) before coming back to the main story
so!
ling chao “accidentally” blew up yueyue oh no (he’s still alive tho yey)
& then yueyue holds up a piece of candy,,,and immediately knows its ling chao (cuz its the piece of candy lc was eating earlier in the film)
(and to take care of all loose ends that my brain is providing me with: in the beginning they didn’t know abt each other’s secret occupations...how does yueyue know that lc is capable of doing this? my answer: they used to be agent buddies!!! i’ll expand on this later hehe)

and so
it was at this moment ling chao knew...he fucked up
he’s afraid yueyue might come after him.
which, is exactly what yueyue does
after going home or somewhere, yueyue receives a text telling him to get rid of “them” (ling chao) bc his “identity is exposed”
....so now yueyue has to go and hunt down his buddy ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
and they fight! looks very painful for ling chao,,,poor dude,,,
since ziyang comes out from the back door to join the fight, theres two possibilities that come from this:
1) ling chao knew yueyue was coming and knew he couldnt take him down himself (lets be honest; he looks rlly scrawny) so he called ziyang to his location for backup (how could he know ziyang can fight? agent buddies 👐)
2) ziyang and ling chao live together in the same house
anyways, both results making it obvious that ling chao and ziyang are on the same team while yueyue is on another (lets ignore the fact that ling chao was getting up to fight ziyang as well)
the fight scene is so dramatic oml T-T
ziyang could also be motivated to beat up yueyue in this fight cuz the dude did take his target before he himself could (loophole: how did ziyang know it was yueyue who took his target? answer: maybe yueyue left like a signature or smthn at the crime scene, or ziyang saw him walk out ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ )
and when they all beat the living heck out of each other and are dramatically lying down in different areas of the room
the tv turns on to a council saying “still want to be idols?”
(and remember, the thing they were watching on tv earlier was themselves performing,,,as idols. i cant connect it further than that so lemme know if yall figure smthn out ^-^)
so mayhaps this council is yueyue’s agency and they wanted to turn the trio against each other...? they would have set this whole situation up: they knew ziyang wanted to kill the restaurant “boss”, so they assigned yueyue to take care of him first, which creates conflict between those two. then, they hired ling chao to rig up a phone booth with a bomb; basically setting him up against yueyue
whether this council succeeds with their plan or not is unrevealed bc the film has a “to be continued” at the end, so the storyline still will have more to it!!!
although i would say the council succeeded since they all did beat each other bruised and bloody
.
that leaves the question: why is the council setting them up against each other?
what are there previous connections beyond them just being friends 👀 ?
and here i shall bring back the “agent buddies” bit i was talking abt earlier, as well as why i linked the agent song in the beginning
near the end of the mv, there’s quite a lot of dialogue between the three of them, and it goes like this:
[robotic voice: welcome agent oner
ling chao (?): check
yueyue: yo what up guys!
ziyang: yo what up bro
ziyang (yueyue?): alright lets take them out
yueyue: okay gentlemen we got a lot to do
ziyang: ey we gotta finish this quick, i got a date tonight
yueyue: really?
ziyang: no hard feelings (couldnt catch the rest)
yueyue: okay shut up
ling chao: hey guys, i saw a hit
(?): copy that
yueyue (ziyang?): hold your breath....now
ling chao: guys watch out
yueyue: okay guys locked and loaded
*single shot can be heard, then the reloading of a gun*
yueyue (?): go go go!
yueyue: fire fire fire!
yueyue: ???? *indistinguishable orders*
ziyang?: i got trouble i got trouble
yueyue: ?? i got ?? lets go
ling chao: stay together
ziyang (yueyue??): okay set to kill
ling chao: damn the truck is (blown?)
yueyue: what the hell
ziyang: okay let me (???) it
*bomb beeping noises*
yueyue: ???? clean this blood on my shirt]
(not sure how accurate my hearing is but its enough to make some guesses 😅)
agent buddies! the three of them used to be agents, as the song is titled, at some agency...and they probably made a pretty strong team together
the agency story would explain why they all seem to be good fighters too!
thats why the council might have wanted to tear them apart. perhaps the council was doing something that they knew would displease the trio, so they needed them separated lest they team up and try to defeat them
i also think this audio could have been describing a mission going wrong for them, possibly their last one as a team. someone was probably hurt (im betting on either ziyang or ling chao), and they quit the agency and aimed to live normal lives from then on
...but old habits are hard to forget, so ziyang starts to kill ppl in his free time, yueyue joined another agency as a spy, and ling chao uses his hacking skills for other purposes
however they all dont tell each other, which could add on to the tension of their fight at the end of the film

now to dive into their individual bits of the film. these all don’t connect much to the main lore, just expands onto their lives with their secret occupations btw!

YUEYUE
his segment details moments in his daily agent life; im guessing he’s not very happy with it judging by his nightmares? or the nightmares are bringing up his past at his old agency which he does not like
he’s also master of disguise woah
personally i think he’s losing “who he is”. he’s always playing the role of another person, always putting on another disguise...so he starts losing his sense of identity (if that makes sense ;-;)
(and if you wanna stretch it and make things wholesome, maybe the only times he [feels like himself] is when he’s around his two friends)
so basically: he’s always filling out other personas to the point where he doesnt know who he is anymore
(this is also the segment where he kills a man in the bar with poison,,,and the man was wearing the same ring as ziyang,,,,which is like Hm. why’d the directors do that 🤔)

ZIYANG
aka the murderer :D
(and not just regular serial killer type, more like joker-esque type where they’re a bit insane,,,)
okay his segment starts of with him dragging a man through a white room, where the floors is covered with plastic, and on the walls are a bunch of clay molds of human body parts

my brain has concluded that! ziyang takes clay and makes molds of his victim’s faces/body parts of who he kills! to make statues!
(i dont even know how i got there aksjdhdh but thats just what i assumed the first time i watched this film thingy)
and to make it more messed up than it already sounds,,,im guessing he’s a famous statue maker too, and holds shows where he presents his works to the public and maybe even bids them off ?
,,,,little did the audience know,,,,
(this kinda remind me of sally and gabe’s statue from the pjo too now aksjhdkdh)
(i got this assumption from 6:50 in the film where he walks out in front of an audience who start clapping,,,and let my brain run wild with the rest,,,)
of course, he probably kills off the people he was the molding the clay off of once he’s done with his works,,,or sometimes even in the middle of his works as shown in the mv (*-* )
but alas that is not all to his story,,,
judging by his flashbacks when he’s beating that one dude to death with a bat, he used to be bullied when he was in school, which seems to be the source of all his anger throughout the film..
( yeah he killed the bullies too (_ _ )> )
its part of his personality to be rough and short tempered - he doesn’t like people looking down on him (as the bullies did)
and,,,if you want to be wholesome again! perhaps he found some bits of happiness and peace when hanging out with the others :]

LING CHAO

his is pretty simple and is already explained in the mv itself! i’ll walk ya’ll through it though in case you didn’t watch the film tho akdjdjkf
basically: he’s just a dude who loves dogs :]
a lot
in his segment, a girl (handong, looking absolutely stunning ToT) approaches him wanting to take home another stray, and when he asks her where how the previous dog she adopted was doing, she says that “my bestie loved him a lot, so i gave him to her” ( -_- )
so...he lets her keep the dog, but also decides to keep an eye on her...to the point where she becomes very paranoid that someone is stalking her (which..she isnt wrong in)(but she doesn’t believe it to be ling chao because they’re..dating? i think? and he lulls her into a false sense of security that he’ll protect her from harm)
and then bam! one day he breaks into her house, steals the dog away, and then,,,,blows her up,,,,,
(i must say as disturbing this scene is,,,,i absolutely adore ling chao’s look here askjdjfd)
(i mean?? look at him?? loving the black lipstick ugh)
(v pale tho ;-;)
okay anyways the next flashbacks reveal that handong was abusing her dogs & starving them, and him being the animal lover he is, decides to kill her for it ig
(also she,,,stabbed the other dog that she “gave to her bestie” so-)
yeahh thats the end of his story; nothing much to take from it except that his hacker skills are still intact past agent days

please lets not be shitty
tws for talk of racism, eugen/cs, n*zis, slavery, genocide, etc. read at your own risk but please be aware this message is important.
so this isnt specifically related to hetagames but its related to hetalia and i think its important that everyone hear it again just to be sure. im going to shelve my rabid persona for a minute because this is super important and a super serious thing.
making hetalia OCs or 2ps or personifying characters based off of problematic time periods from their history is not okay.
some examples include:
-n*zi germany
this is so wrong for so many obvious reasons everyone should know by now but for the sake of the post im gonna go into detail a lilbit. so many people were killed and both physically and mentally tortured during this time period, a large group being jewish people. during this time period german schools taught eugen/cs to their children which was a h i g l y racist concept. n*zis basically hated everyone that wasnt a blonde blue eyed ‘pure blood’ german. everyone else deserved to die according to them, and thats just.... not something that you make an anime boy about? like no. please.
-civil war era america/the confederacy/the confederate states of america
this one some people seem to think is okay for??? some goddamn reason??? no??? okay i know a lot of non-americans might not understand what exactly the civil war was so here we go heres a very watered down explanation. once upon a time there was slavery in america. we all know that. but at one point the public opinion shifted to thinking ‘hmm, maybe slavery is actually really fukin gross and bad? hey lets pass a law to ban slavery.’ and the southern states went ‘wait no we like slavery.’ and they went and said ‘this law would violate our constitutional right to states rights. we should be able to choose whether or not each state has laws against slavery!’ which is bs by the way they just wanted to keep owning slaves but they called it a violation of states rights so they could start a war over this shit. so then the south decided to form the confederacy and then they declared war on the north to try and break away n have their ‘right’ to own slaves. by the way this wasnt just a buncha racists fighting for their right to own people a lot of them also made their slaves fight in the war. so black people were being forced to fight for their own enslavement. lovely. spoiler alert they lost hella bad and the emancipation proclamation was signed which helped pave the way for black people to be free. the confederacy through its entire short life stood for nothing but slavery and racism and that is n o t something that its okay to make an anime boy out of okay please stop this.

okay this isnt really a time period perse but it felt like it belonged on the list so i put it on. its my list i can add what i want. so anyway ive seen southern italian people express blatant discomfort with this before, and from what i remember it stems from both racism and classism to a certain extend and thats just.... uncomfy. i get the appeal of a mafia au ok some people find crime hot but if its blatantly making people uncomfortable then id suggest you stop. other peoples comfort is more important than your fanfic. just make some generic crime lord au or summ instead idk it dont have to be the mafia all the time an it dont have to be romano all the time. if anyone who has a better feel for this wants to expand on it be my guest.
anyway im sure theres many more but these are the things i see the most. feel free to rb and add your own “please dont”s to the list. an before anyone gets on me about “why is this stuff bad but things like ancient rome arent” look ancient rome did about as much bad shit as england did but we dont all cancel mister arthur monster brows do we? the difference is these examples are narrowing a character down to one specific problematic period of their history (or in the case of the mafia thing one single small problematic part of the countrys history) and ancient rome represents the entirety of the countrys existance which did more than just imperialism and murder and shit. ok mun lei out now.
