Firstly, hello lovely, it's wonderful to see you posting again, you've been missed! ❤️
Secondly, I only watched Glass Onion for the first time yesterday so now I'm scrolling through all these asks with no risks of spoilers and I LOVE!
What if Blanc has no idea he's pregnant in Glass Onion and the idea only occurs to him when he's already on the island? Maybe he's been feeling rough but playing it off because all the Covid tests he's done have been negative (similar to a previous ask). Until some of the others are talking about some celebrity that had no idea they were pregnant until certain symptom. And Blanc sits up a bit where he's eavesdropping, because it's something he's been feeling. Whoever then goes on to list this other celebrity's symptoms, and omg isn't it funny they didn't know they were pregnant for so long!
Meanwhile Blanc is now freaking out a little. Because that sounds exactly what he's been experiencing for weeks, and he hasn't even considered he might be pregnant (au where he and Phillip have no kids, this is one hell of a surprise for both of them). He looks down at himself, wondering now about why his clothes are little tighter even tho he's been watching his weight, trying not to panic.
He has to wait obviously, there's no doctor and certainly no pregnancy tests laying around. The rest of the film plays out but Blanc feels like he's distracted, maybe why he's so impressed by Helen discovering as much as she does while he tries to focus. He's very aware of the danger now, especially when Helen gets shot right in front of him.
Post film and he hastily buys a drug store pregnancy test at the airport, which is positive, and now he's kicking himself. World's greatest detective his ASS, what the hell is he going to tell Phillip?

Blanc feels crappy for a while, but with seemingly endless negative COVID tests, he just figures it’s the stress of the pandemic and being stuck at home. It must all be psychosomatic, right?
Except it isn’t. While he’s eavesdropping with people at the pool, he ends up listening to a conversation between Birdie and Claire in which they chat about a celebrity they’d read about, and how he’d admitted to not knowing about his pregnancy until near the end of his second trimester. Miles takes advantage of this exchange to share his connection to the celebrity and goes on about the symptoms he had had, and how he’d been the one to push to him that he might “have a bun in that oven, comprende?”.
Blanc is quick to get out of the pool and get to the bathroom, looking over himself before Helen can get in there. Sure, he’s put on a couple pounds, but that must be a result of quarantine weight, right? Even with how limiting his appetite has been and how nauseous he’s felt. And surely that doesn’t link to his fatigue or his moodiness or aches or—
He’s flustered and distracted. He does his best to remain focused on the case, especially with making sure to protect Helen as best he could and holding onto the events at hand, but he still loses focus at times. Thank God for Helen being such an intuitive detective in her own right.
When the events of the film are over and they’ve all spoken to get police and Helen runs off to her flight, Blanc races off to find some kind of pharmacy in the airport that can get him a pregnancy test (a mystery in its own right) and when it comes back positive, he sinks to the floor of the bathroom stall, nasty airports be damned. He’s pregnant and has no fucking idea how to tell his partner.

if we are talking about the lost dream lover/daisy scenes from act 1 then we should talk about why those scenes were so good and why the loss of that storyline is so disappointing. because it's not just "oh those scenes looked better or whatever" it was a completely different character and storyline.
even though the companions pushed back way more and the whole narrative was telling you to resist the dream lover, it was somehow far more tempting. you were constantly tempted in dialogues to use your powers and if you did, you slowly started to lose yourself, the narrator said you could feel something slipping away, something you will never get back. You were giving yourself over to the fantasy, a mindflayer illusion
the game asked you during character creation "who do you dream of at night?" obviously meaning "what are you attracted to?" rather than just "you need a guardian. choose one." there is already a different implication there. I wonder how people interpret "guardian" if they don't know about the original dream lover. they might not even create someone they find tempting. a guardian sounds more like a mentor figure, rather than your ideal fantasy partner.
During early access the dream lover not only offered us power, they also showed us a tempting future where we are powerful and important and beloved and we are ruling the world. such universal temptations and desires. and we were resting on a peaceful field with the person of our dreams. it was peace in the dream world vs the real life struggle.
In the end it seemed obvious where this was leading... if you use the tadpole too much, you would have turned into a mindflayer. and whatever is left of your individuality and consciousness would have stayed in that fantasy world with your perfect fantasy partner. the mindflayer illusion forever trapped you. the song "Down by the River" was written about this fantasy dream lover. and what a banger and creative storyline this could have been. what a tragic ending! to just give up, lose yourself in the fantasy, the easy way out. choose this beautiful fantasy over the imperfect real world. and choose your perfect imaginary partner over the flawed real people, your companions. truly I mourn what an incredible storyline this could have been. It would have resonated with basically everyone.
and you would have been constantly tempted. to avoid this fate you would need to struggle constantly while the easy fantasy is dangling in front of your face with a zero difficulty ability check.
turning into a mindflayer wouldn't have been something you have the option to choose. and you can get cured no matter how much you indulged in the tadpole powers. lmao I kinda hate that there is no consequence for any of that now

redesigning star dresses part 2!
part 1
notes and individuals are below!
virgo ~
- really wanted to step away from that sexy maid aesthetic. my goal was to mix maid with a princess silhouette to reference virgo’s nickname for lucy.
- so i added elements of cinderella’s look like the side fabrics, choker and longer dress.
- using just black is so boring so i brought in some pink and chose to instead use greys
- so many lucy dresses have pigtails so changing the hair also has a more practical element because it’s pulled away.
~ scorpio
- I actually love the og scorpio dress. It’s so different to all the other looks and so easy to distinguish that it’s scorpio.
- i wanted to play into a trackstar / athlete look just so it has an aesthetic that stands out. i also used shapes found in scorpios tail and neck frill in her armour and top.
- i absolutely love the new hair, i wanted it to resemble a scorpion tails! Also just was bored by the normal head band and u know what why not do a cutest bow.
~ sagittarius
- my least fav og dress is is sag. the colour, the lack of shade range and the outfit is just…. yer not cute.
- so i was inspired by more fantasy archers and sag’s colours are screaming cool earthy ranger.
- i think the final result much better resembles sag in the colours and aesthetic.
~ capricorn
- this luxus bad girl moment and i love it. The og one is pretty good but i wanted to fully push it more.
- there’s strands of hair coming out of her bun to resemble horns and belt to resemble a tail.
- the og design is too black so i went with a darker purple to stand out. I didn’t want virgo and capricorns to look like a matching set.
~ aquarius
- there was a lot of pressure to do aquarius well because it’s significant star dress, a fan favourite and my own star sign!
- i leaned more in the mermaid aesthetic by using more fin silhouettes and pearl detailing
- i wanted to make it more practical so a more supported bikini and mini skirt under the fin like fabric.

i’m so super proud of these designs and i’ve actually seen an improvement in my art. Maybe in the future i’ll do a piece with all of them or do yukinos dresses so lmk if ur into that.
