if we are talking about the lost dream lover/daisy scenes from act 1 then we should talk about why those scenes were so good and why the loss of that storyline is so disappointing. because it's not just "oh those scenes looked better or whatever" it was a completely different character and storyline.

even though the companions pushed back way more and the whole narrative was telling you to resist the dream lover, it was somehow far more tempting. you were constantly tempted in dialogues to use your powers and if you did, you slowly started to lose yourself, the narrator said you could feel something slipping away, something you will never get back. You were giving yourself over to the fantasy, a mindflayer illusion

the game asked you during character creation "who do you dream of at night?" obviously meaning "what are you attracted to?" rather than just "you need a guardian. choose one." there is already a different implication there. I wonder how people interpret "guardian" if they don't know about the original dream lover. they might not even create someone they find tempting. a guardian sounds more like a mentor figure, rather than your ideal fantasy partner.

During early access the dream lover not only offered us power, they also showed us a tempting future where we are powerful and important and beloved and we are ruling the world. such universal temptations and desires. and we were resting on a peaceful field with the person of our dreams. it was peace in the dream world vs the real life struggle.

In the end it seemed obvious where this was leading... if you use the tadpole too much, you would have turned into a mindflayer. and whatever is left of your individuality and consciousness would have stayed in that fantasy world with your perfect fantasy partner. the mindflayer illusion forever trapped you. the song "Down by the River" was written about this fantasy dream lover. and what a banger and creative storyline this could have been. what a tragic ending! to just give up, lose yourself in the fantasy, the easy way out. choose this beautiful fantasy over the imperfect real world. and choose your perfect imaginary partner over the flawed real people, your companions. truly I mourn what an incredible storyline this could have been. It would have resonated with basically everyone.

and you would have been constantly tempted. to avoid this fate you would need to struggle constantly while the easy fantasy is dangling in front of your face with a zero difficulty ability check.

turning into a mindflayer wouldn't have been something you have the option to choose. and you can get cured no matter how much you indulged in the tadpole powers. lmao I kinda hate that there is no consequence for any of that now

Let’s go ! :D

1. Do they get together before the mindflayer possessed Billy or after shit goes down (or maybe during😲)?

I like to headcanon that Billy and Steve were together between season 2 and 3 maybe friends with benefits that ended up to lovers, but Billy freaked out about the all falling in love feelings so they've eventually broke up in an emotional argument, and through season 3 they still have feelings for each others but doesn't assume them, they deny them ;~; sooo season 4 reunion, they'll definitely kiss hard, tears and sad giggles because they've missed each other so much q~q

2. Who kisses who first?

I would say Steve, he's romantic and just wants to be in love with someone that he cares for and makes him feel fulfilled, so he shows it. Billy will not assume himself being gay, falling in love with someone like Steve feels impossible so when his feelings are reciprocal it just feels unreal.

3. Where do they have their first sex? (Location) (HJs and BJs count)

I don't know what HJ and BJ mean ( edit: now I'm aware of the meaning 👀 ) I would definitely say a party or Billy's camero, their sexual relationship has started softly/slowly with HJ/BJ to see if each other was into it, and maybe for more.

4. Who says 💖 I love you 💖 first?

Like I said, Billy wouldn't feel confident enough to tell Steve. And Steve would not hide his feelings and love thoughts :3

5. Bottom!Steve or bottom!Billy?

I believe in them switching ^^ if it's bottom Steve it would be dominant bottom Steve for me, I don't really like Steve being powerless or seen as a virgin when he's a bottom Soo :3

6. Do they give gifts to each other?

Not at first, they are just friends with benefits so presents are out the table because giving something to someone would mean having feelings for each other. And that’s something Billy wants to avoid unintentionally. They would potentially give each other mix tapes. But if do end up being together, they would give each other little stuff like jewelries, tapes, maybe even do clothes sharing :3

7. Where do they end up living? California, Chicago, Hawkins… idk. Alaska?? Any other location?

Away from Hawkins for sure, maybe California ? at least somewhere where they could be happy, proud of them and enjoy like near ocean to surf or swim :3

8. What are their future jobs?

ah hard question, i’ve remembered someone mentioning Steve as like a nurse or something similar and i like the idea of Steve becoming a caring person, wanting people to feel better and to protect them; If not, maybe a small job in a little shop/market at least feel good where he works. As for Billy, mechanic Billy is always the first choice, it fits him :3 Maybe Lifeguard again ? as a partial job ?

9. Who’s a better cook?

Uhh i don’t know, i feel like Steve will only know the basic meals but he would mostly order food since he lives “ alone “ and with school and all, you don’t want to waste your time cooking big meals for you when no one is here to at least congratulate you :/ Billy knows how to cook basic meals too for Max and him when their parents aren’t home. He maybe knows special meals that his mom was cooking for them or him especially :3

10. Steve Hargrove or Billy Harrington?

Billy Harrington, Billy hates his father so changing his last name for Steve’s one is a way to end the family descendants and annoy his father, which can also annoy Steve dad.

11. What’s Max’s reaction when she hears they’re together?

Confused, she would not believe her eyes or ears x) “ you gotta be joking “ She definitely would not understand how Steve ended up with Billy because he’s gross and quite “ selfish “ with himself you know ? ( admiring himself and being proud of the way he looks ). She’ll probably makes comments everytime she sees them together but deep down she’ll be happy to see Billy slowly changing and being happy, same for Steve even though she’ll be annoyed to see Steve waiting at the front door or trying to enter by the window x)

12. Describe in one sentence Hopper’s reaction when he hears the names Hargrove and Harrington mentioned together?

Annoyed, if he doesn’t know that they are together or friends (w/benefits) Hopper will be annoyed and mad to go separate them fighting until he arrives ready to give them a lesson, and find them having a moment 7w7 he goes from annoyed to embarrassed to understanding ( with a bit of annoyment )

13. Does Robin like Billy or does Robin hate Billy?

She’ll be annoyed first, because Billy is the new King of the school and she definitely doesn't like popular guys, being bullies and who are putting themselves under the spots like they were better than anyone. But she will start to understand him, know him and she will like him but still thinks he’s gross, making gross comments about what he’s doing with Steve and comments on Robin about how she should move her ass to go get her crush. Billy will be playful with her but if Robin needs support, advices Billy will be serious about it but add jokes and funny comments to de-stress her :3

14. What about Dustin?

ohh Dustin ?! Just like Max but he still would not accept the fact that Steve fell for someone like Billy Hargrove, sometimes things can go well when they talk about nerd subjects that Steve isn’t into ot interested into, it can end up in big arguments with middle fingers/confused/disapproval looks and sometimes they do agree with each other. But Dustin will be jealous deep down of Steve and Billy being together.

15. Fave harringrove AU?

uhh i don’t know, i like them all in their own way. I love the classic one with Billy surviving or avoiding season 3 :3

16. Billy + Camaro =…?

Love, he likes his car because it represents him, highlights him, translates his personality and it’s probably the only thing that reminds him of good times in California. ( i think he might even been meticulous with it like my brother x) )

Constantly thinking about Will Byers and the fact that if what happened to him hadn't happened the entire show wouldn't exist but also how we know very little about what actually happened to him or even why it happened.

Because we can assume it was Vecna who took him and not a demogorgan because of the way he unlocks the door from the outside the same way El does in later seasons and the fact he messes with the phone and the fact Will isn't eaten and killed on sight. But why Will and why did Vecna even want to take someone in the first place?

Only reasons I can think of is he was trying out 'vecna-ing' / cursing someone for the first time or it was his first attempt at possession. The fact he only cursed people in order to open gates and he already had at least two gates open (and from the fact he was in the real world shows he was using them), I feel like it was a little early to be enacting his whole plan to open four gates to unleash the UD into Hawkins plus the fact again that he takes Will to the UD so it's more likely an attempt at possession. Which makes sense, he knows he wouldn't blend in now in the real world so he needs a puppet, why he'd choose a child for this idk, maybe to go under the radar more? Maybe because he's still searching for El and she's obviously a kid?

We still have no idea why Will had that vine down his throat, maybe that was part of the possession process before Vecna figured it out better? Maybe it was just the UD trying to kill him? Maybe Vecna was weaker back then and he had to use the vine to get into Will's brain the same way he puts his hand up to his victims faces in season 5?

Add on to that, the fact Will then begins to have flashbacks / visions of the UD starting at the end of season 1 all the way through season 2 which is referred to as True sight and one of his 'abilities' which means maybe Vecna wasn't feeding him these visions but instead, even before he gets possessed, Will was still linked to the UD and in a way could sense Vecna / the mindflayer all by himself. These weren't Vecna playing mind games but instead just an ability Will has now??

And then why does Vecna choose Will to possess in season 2? Because of his True sight? Just because he's cruel? Why would he, on top of his True sight, (accidentally) allow Will to be a spy and have 'now memories'?? Now not only is Will connected to the UD and can look into it without entering (not on command but still) but also can see what Vecna sees, what the hive mind as a whole sees!!? He can also sense when he's near / there's 'activity in the hivemind' and what Vecna's feeling too??

All Vecna did was kidnap and possess this little kid and all of a sudden he's created the person that (along with El ofc) is going to destroy him. He literally orcastrated his own demise.

Have you seen stranger things? Because literally all I can think about is a stranger things umbrella academy crossover

I may or may not have bingewatched the entire new season yesterday (the scoops troop has all my uwus I thought there was going to be forced romance but instead there was canon LGBT+ rep #bless) but you’re very valid but there are many ways to do a crossover!!

Like a general crossover where both shows are still separate and, for example, when Five jumps he accidentally brings his siblings to the past in Hawkins, Indiana where they have to deal with the general absolute nonsense that being in the town entails while probably being mistaken for escaped experiments by the party after calling Five by his name ? I can just picture the kids trying to catch Five or something to take to El because they assume he’s her brother or something goodness (and also this one would probably differ depending on whether the squad was deaged to thirteen again or stayed at 29)

or an integrated crossover where, after numbers one through seven left/were failures Reggie-Papa (as an integrated person? the same person?) and say he joined the government (or maybe always was?) and started experiments anew with ?? both kids they find and maybe the kids of the original 43? because Kali was what, number eight? and El is eleven so technically it could line up if you just bump Kali’s age up a tiny bit (from 25 to 29) and pretend El’s mum was much younger when she was born (and of course if you fudge up timelines a little bit, but that isn’t too difficult considering despite being ‘present day’ the Umbrella Academy universe’s tech is pretty on par with Hawkins era stuff) which would mean that El actually IS their little sister that none of them knew about (and presumably that they have three more on top of that that are who knows where)

wait in an integrated au maybe Five got stuck in the upside down instead of the apocalypse hello yes and maybe instead of the Commission and stuff and him jumping back, maybe Eleven pulls him out of the Upside Down or opens the door and Five decides to take his chances and jump through himself or something and because time works differently in the upside down that’s why he’s still a kid/his powers were goofed up over there idk i’m just kind of spitballing here tbh

Klaus, looking at a demodog or demogorgan or mindflayer or whatever: wow Ben you didn’t tell me your cousins were coming round to dinner

I genuinely can’t tell whether Five/some other Hargreeves would cheerfully allow the party into life threatening danger or try and keep them away from it because, to technical adults the party must seem awfully young but also they were superheroing and yeeting themselves (or rather, being yeeted by Reggie) into danger soooo

but if they did try protect the kids, also pointing at Nancy/Jonathan/Steve/Robin like “babies. you all are babies. children.” because the difference between 17/18 and 29 is a whole world tbh and then honestly Joyce and Hopper are looking at the Umbrella Academy like “y’all are too young for this as well idk why y’all are being hypocrites” because they’re both like,, in their forties and the umbrella academy are in their twenties (even if only barely)

and if you wanted to switch up the squad’s ages as well to make ‘em different and do away with the whole 43 children born randomly bit and fully graft the umbrella squad into the stranger things universe you could probably get away with that as well in which case I have no idea how old they would be tbh though presumably Five would stay physically thirteen (or ten depending if you wanted to go comics or show canon)

heck i dunno if you want to yeet me a more specific ask about a crossover I can probably spitball up an au for that but there are just too many possibilities to get into on a single post oops

(Steve is my fav stranger things character based solely on s2/s3 since i hated him s1 lmao but Robin has also clawed a space for herself in my heart what a blessed friendship,,,, I absolutely adored the new season up until the end which ripped my heart out :( i miss alexei)
