Allow me to present my Half propaganda!
- The slower tempo adds a very relaxing feeling to the song. Kinda ironic, but I like it! It sort of reminds of old indie songs from 2012 (especially with what I think is whistling added in the instrumental in-between chorus and verses.)
- Kazui’s voice. Enough said.
- It’s very easy to listen to, and I find it’s one of the only songs from Milgram that I like to listen to out of context (besides After Pain, Backdraft, and Purge March, oddly enough.)
- The MV is rife with imagery, and is used to beautiful effect. It really makes you feel for Kazui and his situation.
- The scene with him and Hinako before the key change… that makes me so emo.
- The overlapping part at the end… the lyrics combined with the dialogue in the background makes me really sad in a way I can’t explain.
Propaganda for MAGIC:
MAGIC MY BELOVED MAGIC!!! Its one of the best MVs in the entire series, even including T2. Magic is visually stunning and has some fantastic art direction but also is very clever in how it conveys its themes and ideas. Magic doesn't really hide anything from you, not really. It's all symbolic but it Tells You Things. It shows you the abuse, it shows you the cat. There's a fun little relationship going on here where, In Magic. Amane's pain and suffering isn't taken seriously by the people around her and the Audience we are discouraged to take it at face value due to the fictionalized nature of Magic. It's so cool. I'm so fond of the song as well, it's one of the best in the series purely cause of the Layers in it. The implications of this Inability to be good is seeped into Magic. Amane knows this isn't reality, Magic knows it's a show, she watches it at the end. And it's so Sad to me that even in her fictionalized happy world she Cannot be a good girl. It's a standard completely out of reach for her and that idea is just conveyed so well visually.
Im not even talking about the goddamn cat yet- the cat symbolism goes Deep. That cat is HER it has the same wounds Amane has in Purge March. I- I cant talk about the intertextuality of Purge March and Magic here this is Magic propaganda only- I- there's so much good stuff to Magic. I Re watched it over and over again. It has some the Best Writing and Visual Communication in Milgram and I will Die on this Hill.

adding onto my last point. that scene where the cat is hyperventilating and you see the camera shaking???? that scene where the mascots find amane helping the cat and they're all standing over her? CHILLS. im repeating myself but the fact that they were able to portray the awful things amane went through in a genuinely emotional way while still keeping the cute cartoon look is soo impressive
there are SO many layers to itill the entire cartoony style making it look like a tv show… utilizing the cartoony effects and bright colors to show amane downplaying her own pain… the transformation after she gets punished barely changing anything to show just how manipulated she was from the start… ueueueue
ALSO ALSO ALSO THE SCENE AT THE END WITH AMANE STARING AT THE SCENE? OHHH ITS SO GOOD it adds such a feeling of dread and reminds you on top of this whole thing that all of this is truly horrifying! something is going on here!

An argumentative essay on why you should vote for the Cannoneer in the #bestestspirit polls + a fun meme at the end
(i just realised i should add a link to the poll)
MAIN POINT: You should vote for the Cackling Cannoneer in the semifinals!
Heres an essay on why. (pls dont kill me writing argumentative essays is one of the only things im good at)
POINT: Number one, they have a great character arc. They grow a lot as a character in the time that we see them, from an arrogant, cocky and dislikable person to realising that pride and treasure isnt everything and that the real treasure… is family, friends and good relationships that are truly priceless. They are a character that has had great flaws in their personality in the past, but has learned from it and changed accordingly. This is shown in the ending scene of Season of Abyss quest 5.
POINT: Number two, they, in a way, treasure their friends so much they would risk their life to make them happy/protect them. They would do anything to give their friends what they want and please them. This can be seen as an act of selflessness towards their friends. This is shown in Abyss Quest 5 where, after the player successfully rescues the Cannoneer, they present to the captain (Ceasing Commodore) a large diamond, revealing that the reason why they’d went down to the trench was to give their captain a diamond and make them happy.
To further elaborate on my point, in their official character profile it says they are ‘always ready to protect the ship’. This shows that they are brave, willing to face the dark creatures of the sea to guard the ship, and willing to protect their friends if need be. They are the saver of LIVES. They are the fighter of the Abyss crew, and they are the Cackling Cannoneer.
Counter-argument + rebuttal: Well some people may argue that the Cannoneer has an overly prideful personality, and therefore does not deserve your vote. The truth is, they have already learned from their past mistakes. This is shown in how they bow in respect to the Skykid that saved them down in the abyss, saluting them along with the other crew members as they ascend to orbit.
In conclusion, the Cannoneer deserves your vote. Have a nice day :D

That poll is so hard to vote for cause on one hand, it feels like Tiff would fit the best because of her incredibly unreliable narration matching Ted's while it would still be a subversion of the original because of the reason why she's unreliable(rose tinted glasses and extreme devotion to BE as opposed to the stuff Ted's got going on) and her pov on and relationship with BE would just be so fun to see explored and the horror of the situation being a subtle thing thats swept under the rug could be so cool.
But on the other, Evan would also kinda match with the original due to his open emotional distance and disconnect from the girls, AND it would bring a lot of fun, fresh stuff! Seems like Evan is the one who pays most attention to AM, and seeing what's happening there from his pov would be so interesting! He, just like Ellen if she would've narrated could bring up how things like being the only one of the opposite sex and gender in the group and (from what we know from the short story at least) only dark skinned person would like.. idk change perspectives on things?? I'd also love to find out more about him!
Oh, not to mention Naomi!! Having narration that is pretty damn reliable would make worldbuilding and exploration much easier and she's also got that disconnect due to her age and crystal clear memory, being able to see things as they are and were could be really refreshing in a ihnmaims universe and i really want to know what her whole deal is! Being born toward the end of the war must've made quite a difference to how a person would process everything, Ted's whole "I'm youngest so my experience is different because i barely had time to live as an adult before the nukes" wouldn't have shit on someone who wasn't even like... done w puberty.
Ooooh they'd all make for such fun narrators 😭 It's really too bad that writing takes so much time and effort or it would've been amazing to see all three's povs! I still don't know what to vote for or how the results are looking so far but im really looking forward to seeing what the results will lead to!

Sorry for the wall of text(would you believe me if i said i wanted to write more? This is me trying to show restraint, didn't even write about the potential AM could have as a narrator), and i hope you have a good day!
Okay so first off, I love-love-love this response. You have such fun perspectives on these silly little au characters of mine and it makes me a little sad that you didn’t write anymore cause I definitely would have read it, especially what you were thinking about what an interesting narrator AM could be.
As to which character I have the most ideas for, is such a difficult thing to answer cause well I have so-so many. But I do want to put them out there for you so here they are:
Tiffany: narration wise, I imagine the stuff she says can and does come across as nonsensical and border line trigger happy, however sometimes she occasionally lets something slip that clues into her true feelings and that a part of her may indeed be aware of the gravity of the groups situation, however she shuts it down as she has severe attachment issues and cannot fathom how she could possibly survive without BE. Another thing I pictured is that she very often quotes the bible and other religious texts, as BE doesn’t present herself as machine and genuinely as a divine entity. I also have been toying with a scene similar to the one in the radio drama, where AM is talking to Ted about bumblebees and getting high r something. Where it is set up as the reverse. BE showing Tiff the horrors of what the radiation and world has come to (in a way that is seriously deceptive) and claiming that all she has to do is snap her fingers for it to return. It would definitely read as a story where there is total tonal whiplash from one scene to the next, so that is something to consider.
Evan: I have come up with so many pasts for all these survivors before they were “rescued” by BE, however one thing to note is that I don’t really think of these characters as just “genderbent versions of the originals”. Evan is one of the key examples of this, as in this au he is technically the original Ellen’s older brother, however he left home when she was around 12-13ish, as he didn’t like the life, college and job his family set out and tried to push him into. Unlike Ellen who was a successful engineer, who may have been a hopeless romantic based on the original text. Evan was and very much still is kind of a massive party animal. I picture him very punk but like the old kind of punk. Like he was the kind of guy to go motorcycling around the country (even into war-devastated bits, cause it was a thrill), he went to underground clubs and concerts, and sure as heck slept around and had no shame in it (both women and men if you are curious). He doesn’t want to get sentimental, he wants to live his life on the edge and BE doesn’t allow that. He constantly tries to upset her, get some kind of intense reaction from her. He tries to escape, he kicks and tries to tear open parts of her internal network. This man has tried to kill Gloria (Gloria kind of deserves it thou) and the only reactions he gets from BE is her finding him cute, amusing, or as if he just needs to be put in a corner to calm down for a bit. Truthfully he is someone who just wants to go back and experience life again, recognising that BE’s utopia isn’t living and refusing to buy into it.
Naomi: I won’t lie, Nimdok is so boring in the og story, and they definitely tried to do “something” with him in the game. I don’t like it, again different ramble. So like Evan, she is a different person. Like you said she has barely started puberty and because of BE neither her body or even her mind has really aged in anyway and she is horribly aware of this. Due to the war she has had her childhood taken from her, but now because of BE she shall never experience adulthood or growing up. Her memory hardly anything particularly helpful. She remembers exactly what BE did to the others when they first got brought to the compound, she has seen what goes down in the labs, she knows what pills are and aren’t sleeping pills, developing a habit where she will pretend to take one and spit it out if she is able to. As stated in the survivors master post, she knows BE’s blind spots and will often go there on her own. Not really to do anything, just kind of sit around. Further more, she and Evan have a way of communicating, number of blinks, which fingers moved when you spoke to them, that kind of stuff. Still she doesn’t want to escape, she knows she’ll die if she does, generally she acts more like a mediator in the group. As a narrator, I did have this idea for a few odd habits she has learned over the years. Example is that she constantly counting, time and routine is import to her, as she notices when something is wrong and that freaks her out. She also has this habit of just staring at the others for very long periods of time, especially Gloria. She clearly remembers seeing her on tv during her old life, and also remembers how she attacked her when Naomi attempted to mention it to Gloria.
Writing does take so much effort, especially for me, cause truthfully I’m always jumping back and forth on what I’m working on. On top of this au and the fic, I’m also in the process of finishing the final script and sketches for a different web comic I’ve been planning for a while, as well as a completely unrelated world building project that I’ve been at for two years now. Anyhow!! Tell me more please

So hi! Yes, hello. I came up with Jimothy several years ago and was the one to submit the prior propaganda to the blog. These two have been in so many scenarios in my mind, y'all have no idea. They are so small. They are both mentor figures (more or less). They, uh, small. Even outside the ship dynamic, I can imagine them being amazing friends. Did you know that prior to their Disney work, both of their original voice actors (Cliff Edwards for Jiminy, Edward Brophy for Timothy) were in a live-action film with Buster Keaton? Oh my god. This one came immediately to mind. Idk how big the ship is now, but I remember like seeing it everywhere back when Super Smash Bros Ultimate was like popular on Tumblr/Twitter. I think it was originally a crackship cause both of them were in Captain N (a cartoon), but it’s like a serious thing now. thank you for the questions !! finally able to finish this since i was a bit busy !!
everything will go under the cut because i ended up writing like a very mini essay
1. Why do you like or dislike this character?
she is my daughter !! i rlly love the love she has to offer to the world !! and most importantly, i love her passion for basketball as well -- i rlly enjoyed how integral she was to the teams she was a manager to due to her data collecting, and how those analytical abilities made her a force to be reckoned with !! in conclusion, that's my girl !!
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
ok i do feel like i answered that in the last question, so i'll add that im absolutely so endeared by the fact she nicknames many people :] honestly kagamin and midorin are amongst my fav nicknames from her... think kagami and midorima won there
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
i don't have too much experience with the fandom -- since i got into knb in mid 2022 and rlly have only interacted with a few ppl on tumblr and my friends -- but from what ive seen, i rlly love the amount of love ive seen !! most people ive seen like her a lot and support her !! even those in other fandoms (looking at my beloved a3! fandom the most) -- when momoi's on polls (ex. @/girlygirltournament, @/girls-in-love-bracket, @/pinkandbluebracket) there's always a lot of support for her !!
quick fun fandom thing -- i do want to say that in the pink&blue poll, an alliance was made with a3! fans because both a3! fans and knb fans were super supportive of each other and had a fun competition and ever since then... they have been brother in arms 2 me...
and of course my favorite is still @/pinkhairswagtourney where we arranged for muku (the a3! pink haired boy ever, i even have a little can badge of him) and momoi to tie and be a team together !! and then they won the whole tournament... being able to beat madoka :D and i like to think it is bc of our shared love for charas

jenna gone got high and started rambling about nothing again
the amount of times ive drawn something that i thought i would be appealing or even only make sense to an audience of me and maybe 2 other people, only for it to get blown out of the water with response is shockingly often
like hoffman and strahm from the Saw franchise getting high together, yeah
but also my nonsense comics about Michael Myers from specifically the Thorn trilogy, the RZ remake, and the Green sequel hanging out like weird brothers
or every time I draw a weird AU like slashers as fish. or mini characters that live in the pockets of either someone else or the normal versions of themselves
any self indulgent crossover ive ever made like Jason hanging out with Godzilla and Mothra
and i do it for every fandom. if anyone remembers my old spn comics and AUs, some of those were off the wall cryptic and nonsensical. to the likes of which i havent come close to recreating
many of these get hundreds to thousands of notes/likes/whatever on various websites. so many people just see my nonsense and let me take their hand, no questions asked

i think i rambled this already but deleted it bc it felt too dumb but actually i dont think its dumb. i think its really interesting and relieving that people actually want my sketches and doodles and dumb things.
& yea i enjoy occasionally making a fully rendered piece but i mean. its not easy, and im never totally happy with the end result most of the time. but if im only posting sketches and doodles and sketchy doodly comics i feel bad like i feel like im just holding people over until the next piece where i actually put in effort.
but it turns out people are totally ok with stuff that i dont kick my own ass trying to polish. people arent settling for it, people voted- they want it.
and i dont know where this attitude against myself came from because i was never unhappy seeing sketches from artists i like
maybe its the part inside of me, which im pretty sure is inside every artist who has ever experienced self doubt, which makes me feel like i should be putting my best effort into everything. like, if i could only just muster up the courage to fully render some of these comics I do, then they would be even better...
but i wouldnt have as much fun. thats too much work, i get overwhelmed
so, they stay sketches. with varying degrees of refinement and shading.
so idk im glad ppl like them

WAIT same anon as the last one you answered I know the answer to this one! so nowadays, people thatve read jasons og robin run love him. but back then? fans HATED him. like, hated him hated him. so basically they were pissed dick was no longer robin. and look, they loved his growth, and they loved nightwing. but uh, nightwing's not robin. but fans thought, hey, since dick isn't robin anymore, we can get a grittier batman right? back to how he was before robin. so they were hyped for that, and they expected that. but dc went nope, and boom! new robin! new robin who isn't dick grayson but looks uncannily like him and dyes his hair to look even more like him (until he's retconned to have black hair)! and fans are PISSED. because they don't want a new robin; dick can't be robin, so batman can't have a robin. who does this kid think he is anyway? so he was unanimously hated by fans and writers alike, then the vote was put up, and it really wasn't a surprise when more people voted for jason to die. nowadays we adore the kid; we look at his death like a tragedy, and mourn him and what he could have had if people just loved him, loved that darling boy for who he was and didn't hate him for who he wasn't.

in all honesty i find it fascinating that such a hated character was actually cool, i think early jason (the criminal not the ginger) was incredibly fun so good job writers who hated him u did great
in even more honesty than that i... oh god im sorry but i like that he died, i think the story of jasons death with the poll and the actual consequences in the comic might be my favorite thing dc has ever done, im obsessed with like the few chapters where bruce is completely in denial and lil timmy is losing it trying to fix a grown up man who doesnt know him and dick is just confused... it was madness and i think about it constantly

a breach in the brooch – So this one is an AU idea I have had in my head for...longer than I care to admit, but basically, Adrien has been in on his father's plan to become Hawkmoth since he first came up with it. Now, on the day of the Stoneheart attack, Adrien is questioning why he went along with his father's plans so easily. I mean, becoming a supervillain isn't exactly a healthy way of grieving. And so, when he finds the cat miraculous in his room, he decides to become a superhero despite living under the same roof as his enemy.
to defy a reality – AU where when the sentikids were created, because of the broken miraculous, it accidentally gave them all magical powers, dubbing the three of them "superhumans." Unfortunately, the Order of the Guardians (which Marinette and Nino are part of) is dead set on finding and killing any known superhumans. VERY Feligami, Adrienette, and DJWifi centric.
penumbra – Sometimes I think about how Master Fu was a holder of the peacock miraculous once. Sometimes I think about how Félix has the peacock miraculous. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if the two of them ever met.
identity theft – Everyone thinks Hawkmoth and Shadowmoth are two different people. Chat Noir thinks Shadowmoth killed Hawkmoth and took his miraculous. Ladybug thinks Hawkmoth actually gambles and lost a bet to Shadowmoth, and ended up handing over the miraculous.
nonexistent happiness (the name will probably change) – Gimmi is the kwami of reality, right? But everyone knows reality is just a web of lies. So when Gimmi creates a new universe, and rewrites reality, they're really making a universe that doesn't really exist. And a nonexistent universe will have to fall apart eventually...
UPCOMING
I've written most of the fic except the last two chapters, where things get very...interesting, you'll see. Not to spoil too much, but there's a really big fight scene I look forward to getting to.
There is something VERY big happening in chapter sixteen, but I really don't want to spoil it. Yes you heard me right this fic will have more than sixteen chapters. I think the very most information I can give you about it is that it's...quite a revealing conversation Master Fu has.
I'm looking forward to Master Fu's perspective on this one, I've never written that before so that should be exciting.
Félix comes in at one point. Need I say more.
The part where the universe just kinda....dies..........I mean YES thats the premise of the whole fic and should happen pretty early on but for some reason im not there yet. ANYWAYS

Oh, number one is without a doubt going to be either Stuck Inside or Terrible Things. I was wrong with my guesses last time because there were so many huge bangers on the list but with a tournament half-composed of tiny artists no one's heard before, it wouldn't surprise me to see an undefeatable popularity sweep
That being said I actually have NO CLUE what any of the other rounds are going to look like!!! I didn't think some of these songs would be getting past round 1 but the support they got really surprised me! Graveyard Shift in particular was at the bottom of the bracket in terms of views and nominations and that SWEPT (though I'm hoping people who continue to support that song perhaps stop by for some others as well!)
There were DEFINITELY quite a few that surprised me, so let me go through the list real quick!
Bunny Boy winning the first poll was actually a huge surprise. I kind of fell in love with Let Me In so I didn't pay much attention to the other two at first, but a majority of the comments LOVED Bunny Boy and it was really fun to see that outpouring of support!
Pictures VS. Ruin was a surprise to me mostly because I figured Kyle Allen's reputation would give that song a boost. I loved both of these songs so much so I was on the edge of my seat to see if Ruin could pull through!
FIVE NIGHTS ACTUALLY MADE IT PAST ROUND 1 I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT AT ALL with how much Close To Home also got beat, I wasn't expecting a rap song like the style FabvL does to get very far. But it's SUCH A BANGER I was so sure it would die (I feel bad for Human Shaped Grave though. I didn't realize until it was too late that the view count kind of put it into a weird spot next to two way more popular artists 😔 that's my bad)
Behind the Mask and This Is The Last Night were actually tied for a few days and I would have been SO happy if they both went through but Alas

THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH TO THE PERSON WHO ADVOCATED FOR TILT-A-WHIRL I WOULD HAVE BEEN SO SAD IF IT LOST ROUND 1 HOLY SHIT. YOU REALLY PULLED THROUGH no shade to FYSTBOL but it is first and foremost a silly meme song and Tilt-A-Whirl had so much passion in it 🥺
I can't say anything about Render Me Alive cause I haven't listened to it yet but I hope you guys liked it 👍
In My Eyes Now was winning the whole week so it was actually a HUGE shock to see What Lurks In Shadows pull through last minute. I'm not too upset about a Nightcove loss here since there's like 6 others on this side of the bracket but holy shit where did you all come from (thank you for voting I love you)
I did NOT think Mechanized And Alive would be winning for most of the week. I thought for sure the delivery on the second verse would harm it but no!!! Yall were surprisingly adamant about that one!!!
CHRONICLES OF BONNIE AND TREAT YOU RIGHT WERE CONSTANTLY A PERFECT 50/50 I WAS SO SCARED as much as I still have a grudge against scraton for making the original tournament so hard to organize, I did have to admit COB was surpsingly good and I'm glad it's moving on 💜

Okay. So Five Unholy Nights was near the BOTTOM of the list. It only got nominated once and had one of the least amount of views from ANY of the songs. So when I listened to it the first time and instantly fell in love, I was SO scared. It's one of the least popular ones here in terms of view count and I didn't want it to die!!!!! Apparently I didn't need to worry. Holy shit you guys

I was particularly very interested in how you portrayed Tighnari in CD and adored the way reader being a writer was portrayed.
And yes! It's a game that will be downloadable and I've been learning a bit of renpy to achieve this. It's surprisingly simpler than I imagined. All the tutorials are helpful and the folks in the renpy server are very nice 👌 So far routes aren't 100% finalised but I will say that there ARE secret routes that you can unlock if you choose the right options 🤭
I'm thinking of trying to make a survey to decide some routes but I'm not overly sure what to put on it.

O Capo! My Capo! can be a pretty grim series considering how I was inspired to write it because of a bad ending in an otome game fandisc. There are major character deaths (and it's 100% the readers' fault when an LI dies because of votes), mentions of drug abuse, etc. But if you like Piofiore perhaps you'd appreciate it too. Capo!reader is basically "what if Lilia had Dante's occupation and Gilbert's charisma-- oh and I guess your Nicola is Alhaitham for some reason" lmao.
ps: i think i saw you posting a question on r/otome_games about how to make the MC's personality. i agree with the majority that, honestly, you should just go wild lmao. make MC have some fighting spirit. the bar is low--
