Friday nights, like the good old days.

Beer, some more beverages alcohol free, snacks and 7 of your best friends around the bottle that ends up making one of you disappointed every single time.

Kun spins the bottle as you sip on the iced coke of your friend, Hendery, who sat closely to you on your left; that’s how close you were with them; sharing the same bathroom, drinking from each other’s cups, even accidentally brushed your teeth with another’s toothbrush {gross}.

The empty glass bottle stops at your direction and your roommate’s, Yangyang, and that’s when you knew it won’t end well this time like all the other times it was a round of the two of you. “Dare.” You immediately say, earning their glares at you in seconds before the youngest opened his mouth to ask.

-“You’re brave today.” He laugh, “watch out, if you’re bringing me to tears AGAIN imma slap you in your sleep.” You all remember what happened last time when he asked you about your ex, that only lead to him sleeping on the floor outside your shared room. “Also, no secrets reveal allowed you little bastard.” He was your closest, bestest friend among them all, so he even knew every single detail about your first kiss and your current crush, something that none of them knew.

They all became quiet (surprising huh) after laughing at the two of you. -“I dare you to say one thing you don’t like about…” there was a moment of silence as Yangyang darted his eyes at the guy beside him, Yukhei, making everyone stare at both of you in shock, including your crush, your SECRET crush.

You feel your cheeks heat up and your heart skips a beat, getting angrier at your best friend that just betrayed you for the who-knows-how many times. Your hand slaps itself onto your forehead and you feel like you’re about to cry from embarrassment. Not only you but Yukhei himself was confused when he realized something is going on and it’s about him. -“M….me?” He points at himself and asks, losing his mind in the thought of you loving you. Little did you know how it made his heart feel.

“ARGH! LIU YANGYANG YOU REALLY CAN’T KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.” You shout at him. “Ayyy, what is it with you two all the time?” Kun scolds the youngest. “He- really fucking annoying,” you argue, not being able to even glance at the guy that makes your heart race like it’s training for the Olympics. “I can’t believe I missed it all this time…” Hendery murmurs loud enough for you to hear, causing you to death glare at him.

All of them are just giggling and picking up their jaws off the floor since that’s the least expected thing they would hear tonight.

“Hei I’m sorry,” your senses come back together when you see the tallest looking at you with million stars in his eyes, waiting for an answer.

“Really, y/n and xuxi?” Xiaojun whispers to Hendery and they both shut their mouths when you bother to only dart your eyes at them.

“First of all,” you speak up. “Yangyang is sleeping outside tonight, and don’t be surprised to see your 1000 dollar shoes in the garbage can tomorrow morning.” You say to him, breaking the ice though deep inside you’re boiling with anger and embarrassment.

-“Don’t you dare!” He argues back, getting up on his knees, “TRY ME!” Even though you were in the middle of almost beating your best friend, you couldn’t ignore Yukhei’s gaze from the side of your eye. He was mesmerized by the thought of you arguing over him, his heart eyes turned silent for a moment and he got up to separate you from Yangyang.

“Yangyang if you still like your bones in place you should stop now.” As the gentleman he is, he puts him back in his place, catching everyone’s attention.

“I’m curious about the answer,” he raises his eyebrow as he turns his head to you, both of you are sitting on your knees on the fluffy carpet, as if ignoring the others are there watching you.

“What’s one thing you don’t like about me, y/n?” You couldn’t be more surprised since he’s not the type to care about other’s opinion of him, but he looked like he meant it; like he waited forever to hear that.

-“There’s one thing I really hate about you.” Everyone’s heads raise towards you two, you made him even more confused. “Tell me.” He meant it. -“I hate that you’re not mine.” His world almost collapsed as you spoke out those words, collecting some cringed sounds from the boys but you couldn’t care less.

Yukhei’s eyes widened and his lips stretch to a soft, loving smile. “I can be yours,” he whispers back. “If you kick Yangyang from your room and I’ll be there instead.”

“You see? I’m a genius.” Yangyang interrupts but soon realizes what the older said. “Wait, what? NO WAY IT’S MY ROOM!”

“Thanks Yangyang, you really are a genius, and kicked out of my room.” You fake smile at him behind Yukhei’s back.

-“So, now that I’m yours…” he says loud enough for them hear, then turns his head to them and continues, -“Close your eyes, everyone.” He cups your cheeks, his fingers are placed on your neck behind your ears and pulls you into a chaste, quick kiss that leaves his cherry taste on your lips.

“Ew y/n it’s like in that dream you told me about a month ago!” Yangyang exposes as a bag of chips is thrown at his direction while you’re still in the magical moment with your heart-racing guy.

“Lucas pressed you to his mattress as his hands tightened around your throat.” Lucas read from his phone, a squeal leaving your mouth as you cringed further into your sofa, Lucas trying not to show his blush but failing miserably.

“It’s hilarious that they think you’re dominant.” You commented, Lucas’ fingers scrolling through the various post tagged with his name.

This was a game you and Lucas have been playing since he debuted: going onto Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram to search his tags, finding any and everything his fans could post about him. Over time, Lucas has managed to save various fan edited videos and pictures, one currently being his lock screen, and even found himself subject to many of their sexual fantasies.

Although he was flattered, you found it bizarre. The way everyone describe him in their writings was nothing like his true personality, instantly making you cackle at the idea that he could ever be authoritative and bossy. He was just a human-sized puppy in your eyes, easily flustered and shy from something as simple as a woman’s touch. He even flinched as you placed your feet into his lap, his hips trying to move farther from them despite your couch preventing him from doing so.

Lucas continued to scroll before a certain fanfic caught his eyes, an amused laugh erupting from his mouth as he passed his phone to you. Your brows furrowed as you took the device, curious as to what he found so funny. Probably another story about him and Jungwoo.

Nope! It was you and Lucas.

Your eyes skimmed over the wordy text, catching a few phrases that showed a more sexual side to your friendship, your teeth gritting as you laughed awkwardly, pushing his phone back towards him as to cleanse your eyes of the narrative. You knew Lucas mentioning you in his Vlives and tagging you in post on Instagram would come back to bite you in the ass someday.

“Let’s read it.” Lucas suggested, scrolling back to the top.

“You read it.” You said, reaching onto your coffee table to grab the half empty bag of chips.

Lucas began to read through the lines, not realizing you meant to himself, but you couldn’t help but listen. Whether it was about you and Lucas or him and someone else, you still managed to find amusement in it, the lines and actions nothing that either of you would do in reality.

“’(Y/N) crawled forward, staring up innocently at Lucas as she wrapped her lips around his dick, taking all of him in her mouth. “Noona, you’re taking my dick so well.” Lucas moaned.’”

You screamed out in a mixture of embarrassment and disgust as Lucas read that line, your body shivering at the word ‘noona’, something about it being the most sexual phrase in the fiction.

“Oh god, just end it there. It’s so weird.” You chuckled, shifting uncomfortable in your space and placing the chips back as you no longer had an appetite.

“I forgot virgins don’t like this kind of stuff.” You tried to laugh the situation off but couldn’t help but glare at Lucas’ smug smile.

Despite you being a year and a half older, Lucas was more experienced than you when it came to sex. But a virgin? He knew of your sexual exploits and vice versa, yet he always managed to mock the fact that you’ve only, in his words, experimented at 17. Honestly, it wasn’t a big deal but you still felt demeaned, almost as if it was something you should be ashamed of.

Nonetheless, you took a deep breath, tying not to show how upset you were despite your lips forming a deep pout.

“I’m not a virgin, I just don’t like the idea of people wanting us to fuck.”

“Why not? If we did, you’d probably learn a thing or two.” God, why were you friends with this smug asshole again?

You rolled your eyes and swung your legs off of him, standing from the sofa and heading to your bedroom to avoid punching him.

Would you do it for me, noona?” You felt like you were going to explode, your hands visibly shaking as he continued, your feet suddenly stopping you just before entering your hallways. You suddenly remembered why you were friends.

You turned to face him, the simple smirk on his plump lips as he egotistically pat his lap, as if you were some kind of cat. Lucas smirk slowly faltered as you began to move closer, your hands gripping the hem of your t-shirt before lifting it over your head and tossing it to a random corner of your living room, your body stopping just in front of him to push down your sweatpants and kick them away, leaving you in only a black bra and panty set.

The way his eyes scanned over you, his tongue darting out to moisten his quivering lips, body sat straight as if he were in the presence of a teacher, the overall bashfulness. That was why you were friends. You knew underneath his cockiness and playful attitude, he was just a shy boy, that simple fact causing you to smirk as you climbed into his lap, feeling him jerk away slightly as your clothed crotches met. Lucas’ head turned slightly so that your faces weren’t as close.

“What’s wrong, daddy? I thought you were gonna teach me a thing or two?” You mocked, bringing a hand to his face, gripping his chin to make him face you, your eyes locking as he swallowed hard, almost audibly.

“You’ve already met him?” says Lucas. His tone is clipped now like he’s holding something back. “How long have you known about this?”

“Just this week. We haven’t had the chance to sit down and talk about it until now. I thought you might have some reservations. I’ve only met Kyungsam twice, by the way. Our company arranged the first meeting and we got coffee a couple days after that. He cleared the air about all that stuff.”

He shakes his head, running his fingers through his hair. “You want me to say I’m fine with it but I’m not. It’s not because they’re guys. I’m sure the other one will be fine. It’s just—do you really trust him after every comment he’s made about you?”

“Trust comes with time,” you say. “But I don’t like think he’s dangerous or something. I don’t know him well, but he seems like a good person.”

“Your company put you two together for a reason. The fans ate it up when he pined over you on social media, so what do you think they’d want from you guys in a situation where you’re together all the time? God, are you going to be, like, dancing all over each other? I’m sorry, but it makes me sick just imagining it.”

“My managers know you and I are together,” you explain, “and that I will not pursue anything with Kyungsam, fake or real, for the fans. His supposed crush on me gets people’s attention, but we’re not pushing it any further than that.”

Lucas is quiet for a long time. You catch a tear slip from his eyes. “Y/N, this is how it happens,” he manages. “This is how they break us up without having to lift a finger. His feelings for you and the relationship between the two of you is completely public, but what we feel for each other will never be. He has so much leverage over me. He can make the fans pine for you two with words I could never say to anyone. I can’t tell anyone how much I love you—how I can’t sleep when you’re not beside me or how I always bake your favorite cookies for you when you’re feeling down. People will know about you guys, but never about us. It’s going to break my heart.”

“No one is breaking up, alright?” You wrap your arms around his torso, burying your head in his chest. “I want you to meet him yourself. Give him a chance. I’m not going to sit by and let the fans plan out my future with Kyungsam. I won’t let them. Do you trust me?”

“With my life.”

“Then I’ll take care of it.”

Dejun

There’s a city of lights outside the window of your hotel room. Although it’s just before five in the morning, there are people walking on the wide sidewalks of Manhattan. You can hear their laughter from the seventh floor. Something pulls your hand open.

“You’re gonna hurt yourself,” Dejun says, “clenching your fist that hard.”

“Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize I was doing it. How many more minutes?”

Rubbing soothing shapes into your back through the hoodie of his you borrowed, he presses a kiss into your hair. “Only three more.”

Three minutes until it’s six p.m. in Seoul and the email gets sent out.

The two of you are sitting on the white queen-sized bed, hunched over your laptop, which emits a white light. Other than the glittering lights of the city shining in through the window and the laptop, you’re in the dark. He woke up with you to keep you company, even though he has a show tonight and he’ll be exhuasted. Actually, he was up before you. Dejun made you a cup of tea to ease your nerves.

“It’s okay,” you say, more to reassure yourself than anything else. “I know I’m getting into a group no matter what eventually. So what if I don’t get into the coolest group debuting in the next ten years? So what if I end up in a mediocre group that struggles to make ends meet? It’s no big deal! Just the single defining moment of my career.”

“Y/N,” he says, a hint of scolding in his words. “That’s no way to look at it. I’m sure you’ll get put in the co-ed group like you want. You’re incredibly talented, and your vibe suits a less feminine group. Here, have some of your tea.”

As the clock strikes five, and he tries to hand the tea to you, you refresh the page and let out a squeal of excitement. Your arms go up and you knock the hot tea right out of his grasp. It spills all over his bare legs. Now he’s squealing, too.

“Oh my god!” you cry, trying to wipe the tea off him with the sleeves of your hoodie. “I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”

His face is strained. “Yeah, I’m great. It’s not burning anymore. What group did you get?”

You push the laptop towards him, closing it once you’ve seen his face light up with joy. Then both of you are crying out in excitement. You start crying and he can’t stop himself from doing the same at your happiness. Dejun hugs you, pecking your neck a hundred times.

“I’m so proud of you,” he whispers. “I knew it would work out.”

Hendery

Honestly, it feels like the two of you have barely gotten to see each other for weeks because of how busy you’ve been preparing to debut with your new group. You’ve been staying at your company at night in a spare room because of the demanding schedule. It’s not something Hendery is used to. He misses you so badly, but he figures that this is what you’ve been dealing with for years.

He jumped at the invitation to visit your company and meet the four members of your group. You haven’t had the chance to tell him anything about them, except that one of them is from Macau like he is, so he’s extremely excited to meet her.

Upon his arrival, you rush out of the stairwell, barreling into the lobby until you reach him. Hendery returns your embrace fiercely, even spinning you around a couple of times. You’re both giggling when he puts you down. That’s when he notices the people who came behind you. There’s a short girl and three guys. He does a double-take.

The guy you point to must be more than six feet two. “This is Yunxi. He’s the one I told you about, from Macau.”

“Hi,” says Yunxi. “Y/N’s told us so much about you. It’s nice to meet you finally.”

“You, too,” says Hendery, trying to recover himself and not make a scene. “You’re the first person from Macau I’ve met in Korea.”

You’re smiling brightly. “This is Junghwa. That’s Sanghoon and Beomseok.”

“I didn’t know there would be guys in the group!” he says. “That’s awesome.”

“Have you eaten yet, Hendery?” Junghwa asks, her voice kind. “We were about to grab lunch somewhere if you’d like to join.”

“I wouldn’t want to intrude.”

You grab his ear. “Don’t be silly. They’re excited to get to know you. And Sanghoon’s boyfriend is meeting us there, too!”

Even though he is definitely shocked, the five of you seem like a family already and his heart warms for you.

YangYang

The relationship between the two of you is practically brand-new. You met two months ago on a blind date that a mutual friend set up. All you knew going in is that both of you are idols. The past few weeks have been full of dinner dates, movie nights, late-night drives around Seoul, and walks along the Han river. You’re texting all the time and waiting until you can see one another next. You’re both caught up in the thrill of lovesickness.

One night, you’re sitting together in the hot tub on the terrace of your penthouse. Your head is on Yangyang’s shoulder and his arm is wrapped around your waist. String lights wrap hang over the hot tub.

“Do you have to go back to your apartment tonight?” you ask.

“No,” he says softly. “I can stay . . . but there’s something that I want to ask you about.”

You move back until you can see his face. “Ask away.”

“Listen, I’m not a stalker or anything, but I was on Instagram last night and this post about you came up on my feed,” he says. “You we were with this one guy, and I ended up down a rabbit hole. People were doing a lot of talking about you and this handsome man together. I guess I’m just curious who he is.”

“Are you talking about Jesse?” you say with a laugh. “Was there a bunch of shit shipping us together?”

“Yeah, there was lots of that.”

“Jesse is just one of my members. People have been trying to force us together since our debut.”

“Oh, okay,” says YangYang. “You’re in a group with guys?”

“There’s eight of us. Four guys and four girls.”

YangYang sighs gratefully. “That’s pretty cool. I honestly got a little worried looking at all that stuff.”

“Well, I promise you’ve got nothing to worry about from Jesse and me. We’ve been friends for like nine years. Oh, he’s also engaged.”

“While my group doesn’t have any girls, it’s very unique,” says YangYang with a grin. “Guess how many members there are.”

“Seven.” When he shakes his head, you try again. “Ten?”

“More.”

“More than ten?” you say. “Thirteen.”

“Even more than that.”

You splash him and he bursts out laughing. “No way. You’ve got to be lying. How many members are there?”

“Right now, there are twenty-three.”

The look on your face makes him laugh even harder, staring up at the night sky.
