Every terf I've found. For your blocking pleasure! Under the cut

Oh fuck there's a terf in my notes! What can I do? 1. Flag on shinigami eyes browser extension. You've probably heard of this, but it's free, available on desktop. Also available on firefox mobile I think. Has been used to improperly flag people before. Trust but verify. 2. Look through "Blogs like this one" to break the reblog chains and effectively block a whole circle of them. You could also just look through who they're reblogging from. 3. Have a quick scroll for any posts that are reportable. This takes a lot more time than the other steps, but if enough people report them, and if you're reporting something that breaks tumblr's guidelines, then their account could get taken down. Win. 4. Lastly, block. OR Block first and save yourself the psychic damage. If you're on mobile, you could block first and go back later on desktop, finding them in your blocked tumblrs list, to do the rest. Do not interact! Do not send anons! Don't even give them that. Just flag, report, block, move on. Movements don't go anywhere in silence.

Please know that there aren't actually that many of them. I've noticed from going through so many, and from how they interact in my notes... I don't want to say too much because I'm starting to feel like someone's going to read this eventually. But it can be pretty clear that they have multiple accounts. Some of them are making this their full-time jobs. Just sitting on the computer and finding trans people to bully. It's pathetic and sad. If you block all of them, they just... stop existing. Because it's a small group of people. But they do make new accounts once too many people have blocked them, every... 3-9 months? Or, I imagine, once they start to notice that the site feels empty to them and they've been blocked by too many people? It's easy to block enough of them, but I do recommend setting aside some time to do this. I also recommend taking care of your mental health afterwards. When I encounter a block list from someone else, I always check out the blog before blocking, because tools like these can be used against us as well. Shinigami eyes has been used to incorrectly mark trans people before. Trust but verify. No tool is perfect. So I'm assuming you're going to check some of these blogs out too, because that's what I would do. Set some time aside to take care of yourself afterwards please. Love you.

How to put these in your blocklist quickly

The way I do it uses desktop and your phone at the same time. Or 2 tabs on desktop. The second part is to reference the usernames or look them up. Click on your own profile picture icon and on the right hand side of the screen should be this:

Click on "blog settings" at the bottom. You'll be brought to a new screen, where you'll scroll all the way to the bottom, and see this:

Click on the writing thing there and then you'll finally see your block list:

I'll find this post and reblog with more of them whenever I find them. A Note to Jumblr and my Jewish Followers:

Hey y’all! I see some of you tagging reblogs of my posts responding to antisemitic messages I receive with the tags Jewish Blocklist and Antisemitic/Antisemite Blocklist.

First of all, no shame there! Please feel free to keep doing this and whatever else you need to do to protect your own mental health as well as to your provide tips to our peers and allies about people worth steering clear of!

Second, I do not and will not have a Jewish Blocklist or an Antisemitic/Antisemite Blocklist. I hate blocking people I disagree with. I do try to live by the axiom: “We make peace with enemies, not friends.” And I do think that a lot (not all) of these people will, with the benefit of hindsight, be horrified at how they behaved during this time. Or at least ashamed of expressing such thoughts publicly. Some may be living with legitimate mental conditions like psychosis and mania that can absolutely lead to rigid and conspiracy-based thinking. None of this excuses violence or bigotry or antisemitism. And none of this invalidates your absolute right to block whoever you wish for any reason.

Which brings me to my third point: I don’t want to block people, because I want to track how they behave in the future. That could be four months from now. Six months. A year. Two years. Right now, the fighting between Israel and Palestine is active and brutal. Many antisemites are just using this flair up to justify their pre-existing antisemitic views. I doubt much will change for them. But many people had little to no awareness of the I/P conflict before the 10/7 attack and have been swept up in QAnon-like conspiracy theories. I don’t really expect them to address their hatred or how they allowed themselves to become radicalized extremists while the Hamas propaganda machine is still able to twist every development from the ongoing struggle to grow their support. But active warfare is unlikely to last an extremely long time. Tensions and hatred? Sure. That’s here to stay for a while, but official warfare and bombings from Israel are not likely to continue for years on end without stopping. (Hamas has been continuously bombing Israel for a long time and I expect them to continue even after a peace agreement is reached)

So when Israel’s assault ends, I’m sure the peace agreement reached will fall short of what Palestinians are hoping for and what I as a pro-Palestinian activist am hoping for. And I’m sure Palestinian civilians who endorse Hamas and those who do not endorse terrorism of any kind as well as Israelis and Jews who support Palestinian self determination will all be generally unhappy with whatever temporary solution is reached this time. No true, real progress will occur until everyone fighting over which “side” is “right” shifts their focus to instead cooperatively fight for peace for all.

But after the initial wave of anger and disappointment in the terms of the peace treaty are reached, people will go back to not caring at all about the lives of Israelis or Palestinians or Jews or even thinking about it at all on a regular basis.

And when that occurs, I want to revisit these blogs. When the tension is no longer at a constant rolling boil, I want to see how the worst antisemites I’ve encountered reconcile their behavior during this time with their behavior during peacetime. I want to see how the people who told me to kill myself or told me they wished for me and everyone I love to die in the “most painful way possible” feel about Jews when they aren’t hiding behind the idea of activism. I want to see how these people actually support Palestine when Gaza is no longer being bombed. I want to see how the antisemites relationships with the Jewish friends they claim to have recover or do not recover after the things these antisemites have said and done during a time of extreme danger and aggression toward Jews. I want to ask them if they still mean the things they said. I want to ask them if they have regrets. And most importantly I want to ask them how they plan to avoid causing harm to Jewish people and how they plan to learn about Jewish history and culture so that they can avoid antisemitism in the future when the poorly negotiated and doomed-to-fail peace agreement falls through next time. And I cannot do that if I block them.

So instead, if you want to block the people who have been most heinous to me, you will find them under the tag Antisemites To Remember.

I have had to block a few people from those tags when their continued hatred became too intense and continued even after I disengaged, but I have truly aimed to avoid blocking as many people as possible.

Why are JM shippers so violent 😭 I haven’t had ANY problems with any JoneElias fans, they’re so chill and stick to their own lane but JM shippers seem to go out of their way to insult JE fans so gruesomely at times even when you stick to your own tag ; (not like the main TMA tag is SWARMED with JM- even Jon’s tag is nothing but JM).

The fandom is so hostile if you’re not on the same page and it’s really hard to make friends if you’re not also a JM fan smh…

(It’s also funny HOW JM fans attack JE fans- like excuse you guys for enjoying… horror and fucked up aspects in a fictional pairing? From the horror and fucked up podcast? Uh…. Huh?)

and tbh i don't know. i don't understand the vast majority of the fandom that surrounds this horror podcast because they are just very very very clearly people who hate horror and don't want to engage with it and to whom it brings no joy

one thing i will say about my little corner of tumblr at least is that while i very often see this sort of behavior, i have never had someone approach me directly to harass me. that is much more than i can say for the huge number of JE enjoyers/writers/artists who get regularly harassed over playing make believe about two imaginary men kissing. but at least speaking to my own experience, i have never been harassed for hating JM and loving JE. i attribute a lot of this to my ten-mile long blocklist!

but yeah i find basically any tag to do with the podcast completely unusable... even the elias bouchard tag is overrun with children posting about how much they hate "elias BITCHard"

yeah. but honestly if i can make like. one person stop fucking harassing glenn i'll take it. idgaf about these idiots qrting me trying to make fun of me, i don't want them anywhere near my twt (free blocklist) and they'll forget about it in an hour anyway. but some people have seemingly genuinely thought about it and agreed after a little pushback. it's mostly a bunch of teens who want to be edgy or think glenn has no feelings because he's a C list celebrity with a nice house. i don't think many people bother trying to push back against the accepted culture over there and most of them seemingly don't even think about it. i don't know why but twitter culture just. expects you to be incredibly fucking rude to celebrities on principle even if you like them. and this is. encouraged. and applauded. i think its disgusting, and ive been on the receiving end of parasocial relationships that had people getting overly invested in me and my friend, completely fucking obliterated any boundaries and speculated about our genders/sexuality/relationship so its. kind of personal. i hate to see it and i can empathize with glenn to a degree. especially when like. you compare other clips of him at cons or even on the podcast where he's WAY more reserved talking too deeply abt queer shit vs those encounters with fans, the guy was having the time of his fucking life with a bunch of superfans who let him know how much they care about his work. i really, really wish that we were on our best behaviour and a bunch of fucking 15 yr olds who have never been called a slur a day in their life and don't know the weight of their words weren't creating a hostile space for both sunnytwt and for glenn. why do you, as a fan, not want to be able to interact respectfully with someone you admire? why do you not want to treat him as a human being? like there's a difference between deifying a celeb vs being fucking respectful. it's not like this is elon musk it's fuckin. glenn. like he is so. just a guy. treat him like one. i can't help but feel bad when 90% of what he sees from fans are people in the comments of his posts bullying him. like why would you not want this man to know how insane he makes you on a daily basis. why are you so afraid of expressing genuine emotion that you have to harass him. bc its cringe to say you like sunny? that's the extent of his fucking interactions with fans. of course he's stoked to talk to fans who have actual love for the show. he probably never fucking sees it. and you know. its frustrating to see people who were THERE. interacting with him in person. now doing this shit. my own mutuals were doing that shit. i follow like 6 people on sunnytwt. its just. accepted. idk. i don't know how to phrase this in a way that makes sense but if you enjoy glenn's interactions with the fandom so much maybe dont fucking push him away. if there are a bunch of ppl qrting his old tweets with what seems like actual literal hate. idk. id start deleting if i were him. like there are just zero fucking boundaries and it makes me mad. why would you do this shit when you could take advantage of him being accessible and tell him how much sunny + dennis means to you instead.

What type of content would make you block someone specially on twitter?

(sorry for the weird question, feel free to not answer!)

On twitter I run blocklists on accounts that post nasty stuff (death threats, doxxing, gore, harassment, general shithead behaviour lmao). That means it blocks them and all the people who follow them too. So if you were Blocked on twitter it’s usually because you either partake in this behaviour or you follow someone who does.

I have like 70,000 ppl blocked so that’s not to say ppl haven’t been accidentally blocked though! It’s not personal generally, since a large portion are just following the wrong kinds of people. I usually unblock when ppl ask and I check their acc.

Twitter condones and encourages a lot of vile behaviour, and it’s already an unpleasant experience being on there, so I just do what little I can to try make my space safe and limit the amount of harassment I get :] I don’t interact w negative content and use blocklists for my personal safety.

Lol I knew somehow when I put on my Stranger Things sweatshirt today that I would get this ask lol. Super fun question, thanks for asking! I love talking about any of my other fandoms. I've been pretty involved in the Stranger Things fandom from the jump, I liveblog every new season which you guys do not have to worry about for a while but you can totally backread my ST tags (melissa liveblogs st and melissa on stranger things) for my content or feel free to blacklist if you don't want to see it. I was also active in a few discords for Stranger Things and It, so if you were in any of those you might've seen me around. Met some great people, a few of which are still active on here @sorenserotonin and @milfnightshade loyal mutuals 🫡 who I always appreciate. I'll tag them in case they feel like returning to discussing Stranger Things with me like old times lol.

As for byler and mileven, I don't have super strong opinions. The two mutuals I tagged are both byler shippers (actually I forget if Deidre is, I'm pretty sure). EDIT: DEIDRE IS NOT! I personally have always been into mileven, they were the heart of the first season to me in a way that's really unmatched. The following seasons they have had their really moving moments, particularly for me the third season, but never the same spark as that first season. I do think they are endgame though, because that's just the path the show is on. I don't think the narrative makes sense without them, and wether that is effective writing is a whole separate post. That being said, I will always always never have beef with an lgbtq ship in any fandom, unless it's with a very unhealthy character and I think the ship is straight up abusive. Fandom is a largely queer space because we create the content we lack. That's important and should be respected regardless of ship wars (and I'm a person that gets into those lol). I have a dear friend who will ship anything as long as it's two women, even if they never interacted. I've never understood this. I want the writing to be strong and the relationship to be healthy. But I understand why she feels the way she feels and I'd never judge her, that's what fandom is for.

Some other Stranger Things opinions; I think the writing really has suffered since the first season. It is still a great show, but they struggle with consistency in their characters which is a huge issue for me. They also cave to fandom, which is another huge pet peeve of mine.

I also think Billy Hargrove is one of the most damaging popular characters in a long time, in terms of fandom and the impact on culture. I might just be biased however, I'm on some Billy fans blocklists.

This season was the best one by far since the first. I know that's a hot take, but I think it's true.

Max and Lucas were the only characters who were effectively developed and utilized this past season, which was a breath of fresh air for them to not waste Caleb McLaughlin again.

I do not like Jonathan Byers, but that being said the time for stancy has long come and gone and returning to it is insane.

Oh, final take, we've been giving the Duffers far too much credit for Robin as a character when a lot of it should go to fav nepotism baby Maya Hawke.

Feel free to submit characters or send asks requesting them, but please include images when you do. (Either official images or your own fanart; don't send other people's art.)

Due to the nature of this bracket, I don't know lots of characters, so please include their full names (if possible) and any prominent codenames they've used.

Feel free to submit propaganda for characters that have already been entered into the competition, too.

You can suggest any DC character, but they're probably going to get voted out if they're borderline. I do still want to see who you come up with.

I guess you can suggest characters that aren't from DC but I doubt they'll get much traction? (But I guess there are a few popular crossovers, so who knows.)

I'm not reblogging that post where it's just a bunch of TERFs hating on Violet for showing off her and her boyfriend's outfits (which I just treated as a free blocklist) but the rhetoric that trans people have to hate their bodies in order to even be remotely valid is such clown behavior. God forbid a trans person consider themselves hot and sexy or else it instantly gets framed as a fetish. Like, don't cis women wear certain underwear because they think it's hot? Don't cis men wear certain articles of clothing because they think they look attractive?

Cis women (and cis men) on tiktok do the whole "get dressed with me" trend all the fucking time (and still get shamed when they're not white, thin, conventionally attractive, or able bodied) but it's suddenly such a huge fucking deal when a trans woman does it. Suddenly it's a fetish, abhorrent, or whatever the fuck else.

Like how sad and pathetic do you have to be to go out of your way to harass a poor girl who's just having fun.

"This is just hetero but spicy," correct! A man and a woman in a relationship, be it cis or trans, is in fact hetero/straight!

"Her outfit is tacky," awesome! I encourage everyone to wear tacky shit, no matter who you are.

"The boyfriend looks like they want to die," not everyone like being on camera but good on him for wanting to support his girlfriend in a fun little video!

I'd tell you miserable wretch to go get fucked for being a soggy paper bag of a bully but I sincerely wish your presence upon no one! Go outside and touch some grass instead. Learn to love yourself before you go off to pick on someone who does.

Last night, I watched a playthrough of The Quarry. If you’re unaware of this game, this is a horror game where you play up to nine different characters trying to survive the night of a full moon as werewolves hunt you in a place called Hackett’s Quarry. In the last fifteen minutes of the video, the big plot twist reveal is that the main werewolf who had caused the rest of the werewolves in the forst to turn and his ghost fortune-telling mother are “gypsies” who are “feral,” making them harder to hunt and kill to turn all the other werewolves back into humans. The mother ran a freakshow out of her caravan. The son bit one of the Hackett children, making him a werewolf who then turned much of his own family into werewolves as well. This heavily leaned into long-standing negative racial stereotypes about Roma people: that we’ll steal your children away from you and that we’re opportunists waiting to profit off other people’s misfortunes. Even worse, many in Europe believe that we should be eradicated to protect white people.

To some extent, I’d noticed it a long time ago, but watching a video of this game really drove home the fact that the only fictional representation I see of myself is caricatured, amoral villains. And honestly, sometimes this trend continues into fanfiction. Sometimes I can be partway through a fanfic only to be hit with references to “gypsy freakshows.” Recently, a post circulated that, among some less-good advice about what to avoid when writing POTO fanfic, also pointed out some racist stereotypes about Romani people to avoid, and while some of what was said was accurate (please for the love of god don’t say gypsy if you’re not Roma), a lot of it didn’t exactly reflect my experience, which as I said above, is that I far more frequently see people like me turned into villains and child-snatchers.

And I hesitate to also say that Roma people should never hold villain roles, because let’s face it, sometimes villains can be really interesting and fun to read about! Well-written, relatable villains are why I’m in this fandom! But when Roma people are written as villains, are they villains because they are Roma, or are they villains because they happen to be Roma?

In the case of The Quarry, it seemed very much the former, as the villain’s race is brought up to emphasize how scary and hard to catch he is. Sometimes, when Erik’s childhood in the carnival is discussed, Roma people are brought up as villains because running freakshows is just what they do, despite that idea being ahistoric (white people usually were the ones who ran freakshows in 1800-s era Europe).

To be clear, I do not think people making videos on the Quarry should be harassed, so please don’t take me bringing this up as an example to be an invitation to go do so. Few, if any people are even talking about this, and the inclusion of antiziganism in the game seems to have been calculated to not pop up until you’re almost at the end and have become invested in finishing the story. Furthermore, I do not condone anyone using this post as an invitation to make a fandom blocklist. Like, my god, I have had enough of blocklists for the rest of my life. I do believe that antiziganism in media such as The Quarry, which is made and sold to make a profit, is far worse than antiziganism in media produced for free, though I think both can be easily avoidable through education.

Please, if you write about Roma people, use the terms Roma or Romani, and don’t rely on stereotypes to show that they’re villains.
